It's a pretty hard climb to the top but once you get there, the views are fabulous, it's so worth it. There are super friendly guides along the way who will take photos for you of you and the views, which is really nice. The resulting photos are fabulous, the views are just amazing. A beautiful place to come to.

This is a wonderland Very beautiful place.. please arrange your boat to come here in early morning, start hiking at 5 am You need to step up more than 800 stairs step Waiting for sunrise or sunset are the best moment here. And it will be really hot after 8 am, if you plan to climb up after 8 am it will be drain your energy alot 😃 I recomend you for a private trip during weekday. It will be crowded if you visit at weekend time during peak season

Breathtaking experience hiking to the top of the lookout point. With black, white and pink beaches connected by land. Saw a shark playing in the water as we were walking back down. Definable worth the trip.

I think padar island is my best experience ini labuan bajo and komodo island trip. Hiking the hill of padar island is mandatory for you who comes to labuan bajo. There are 5 posts here, and because it's the sun is already high around 10 am, i just hiked to post 3. It's very hot and no shelters at all. You may come here earlier to avoid much sun heat that prevents you to do more activities. Its pink beach is also very beautiful. You should try snorkeling and swimming the this beach

Can be very crowded especially on public and school holiday, but the view is amazing and breathtaking ! Wear sunscreen and a hat. Bring lots of water! Try to hike at 05:00AM, or as early as possible The hike is pretty easy since there are stairs till the top. Only about 815 stairs to get to the top

The best view in Labuan Bajo trip. The view is incredible. You have to climb almost 800 stairs to get the views, but its worth watching. You can see sea, mountain and greens. Amazing.. Loved it....

It was simply breathtaking! I have no better word to explain how beautiful this place are. We went there for sunset. It was pretty long hike especially for elderly and little kids but our 6 yo made it till the top. But even if you can't make it till the peak, the view from post 1 and post 2 were very beautiful too. The view you saw during the hike was amazing.

Wonderful views! Deer also can be spotted on the island. The sun is very intense and you should bring a towel, lots of water and sun protection. We were fine with the stairs but in the heat, it can be challenging to those less mobile especially in extreme heat.

AMAZING SUNRISEE FROM PADAR ISLAND. You can see a lot of people here to see 3 beach from the top. hahaha this is the real instagram vs reality. You guys should prepare your self trekking for 30 minutes!! but if you have a good stamina you can arrived at top just like 20 minutes. It’s a crazy day here!!! I will come back to this island againnnn for sure!! super worth it!🥰🥰🥹🥹🥹

Definitely a must visit. Best as part of 3-4 nights live-aboard cruise around Komodo so you can arrive early in the morning before the tourist crowd arrives. View from the top is magnificent but the hike can be challenging for older people. Drone must pay a fee for flying permit not sure what rate is nowadays.

Truly amazing view and (sometimes) crowded island for sure! Please don’t climb on midday unless you want to get cooked or dehydrated. If so, bring your glasses, hats, water and use a sunscreen before you hike.
Ihya Aulia Noor — Google review
been to this place 3 times, it got kinda worse each time. I know the stairs were made to help people get to the top easier, but I wish they'd just maintained the path without making the stairs. The views were still amazing nonetheless. You can enjoy both sunrise and sunset from this island, and the beaches are of different color, so stunning. Would really love to go back to Padar island.

The best place for a morning hike to the top for a 360 view from this island. Komodo national park is really wonderful.

For me, this is the most beautiful island in Komodo National Park area, its looks like a piece of heaven on earth😍 you will see great views thats you will never see in another place, especially if you come at sunrise or sunset. From the top you will see a different beach in one frame with different sand, black, white, and pink.

Can be very crowded, but the view is amazing! Please wear sunscreen and a hat. Bring lots of water! Try to hike before 10am otherwise you’re gonna be cooked… The hike is quite easy since there are stairs till the top, though towards the top the stairs are further apart and not as smooth.
Monica Gabriela — Google review
Spectacular views that are worth the hype and worth the short hike up to the top. Note that while there are some areas offering shade for brief reprieves from the sun, they’re quite limited so do ensure to have proper clothing, sunscreen, and water to help protect against the effects from the sun.

Our boat arrived at Pulau Kalong in the late afternoon and we can see colonies of bats resting upside down on many trees. It was an astonishing sight to see the bats all starting to fly when it reached evening time. Before long the bats were swarming in the sky and it was their feeding time. An unconventional tourist attraction

Kelimutu

Mentioned on
Volcano
Nature & Parks
Kelimutu National Park in Nusa Tenggara is a must-visit destination, centered around the iconic Gunung Kelimutu volcano. It boasts striking tri-colored crater lakes that change hues due to mineral dissolution. Local myths and legends surround the area, with stories of siren-like spirits luring people to their demise near the sacred lakes. Visitors are advised to seek guidance from local guides and make appropriate offerings and prayers.
Kelimutu (pronounced [kəliˈmutu]) is a volcano, close to the small town of Moni in central Flores island in Indonesia. It is around 50 km (31 mi) to the east of Ende, Indonesia, the capital of Ende regency in East Nusa Tenggara province. It has three volcanic crater lakes that differ in color.
Muhamad Fahmi Fattahudin — Google review
We woke up at 4 AM and rode our motorbike in freezing coldness for about 45 minutes from downtown Moni to get there. The trail to the peak where you can observe all three lakes is very clear. All you need is flashlight, and in our case, we just used our cellphone. The idea is to catch the glorious sunrise which we did not get that morning. Understandable because we came at the closing end of the rainy season. It's still worth doing for the greater wow moment in seeing the lakes slowly unravel before your eyes. In pitch darkness, you have no idea about the scale of the place, but then you gradually realize the sheer magnitude of the crater lakes. As the birds start chirping in the background, you are presented with a real life cinematic experience that will long last in your memory.

what a beautifull place to hike and chill on the top of hill. unfortunatelly there’s no snack sellers on top of hill as usual
Ferry Gideon — Google review
Superb easy and acessible volcano lake. The 3 lakes have 3 different colours due to type of rock they were formed in. Beware not to fall in. The acidity of the main lake would dissolve you very quickly. Several guest houses available in the village below and tours to take you up for sunrise at the edge of the crater. Visited in 1996 on a 6 weeks Indonesia tour
Sven Dutoit — Google review
We came here for sunrise and it was very beautiful. The three lakes all different colours and two different view points to see closer to each one. It was crowded early morning so I would recommend getting here for sunrise or maybe late afternoon. The walk is around 20-30 minutes from the car park and is well established, consisting of steps which were easy to climb.

Capt.ardanan ali — Google review
It required 30 minutes of trekking to get to Kelimutu lake. On arrival, the beautiful lakes were definitely worth the walk. There are three crater lakes; each of a different colour. It will require a drone to see all the three lakes at once. Was able to see the sunset at Kelimutu and it was really awesome. The mountain and lakes were very scenic
CK Cheong — Google review
Entrance for the national park is 150k per person and 5k for parking a motorbike. The road up the mountain is very good and there are some nice views. From the parking lot you can walk up the stairs right away. It's not far until the craters and the view is amazing. We went early in the morning on wednesday and it wasn't crowded. There are monkeys in the park aswell so watch your stuff.
David — Google review
Wow this place was insane - so beautiful and the most incredible sun rise you must visit - watch out for the monkeys lol - come here thank me later
Dj Ravermonkey — Google review
Beautiful views of the 3 crater lakes. We spent around 1.5h in the park. It isn't a hike, but easy walking on trails and paved stairs. It's definitely possible to go on your own via motorbike, vs as part of an organized tour. We went around noon, and there weren't many tourists there! Nice and peaceful. The views are still great, even if you don't go for sunrise (just check weather conditions beforehand). The entry price is a bit expensive compared to other Indonesian prices - 5k for locals, and 150k for tourists. Try not to go on a Sunday or national holiday, otherwise the tourist price is 225k.
Orly J — Google review
We were unlucky with the weather, seeing as it got cloudy after the sun rose. Despite this, Kelimutu is a magical place. The hike to the top is easy, but remember to bring a warm jacket and a hat. It can get windy and quite cold up there.
Ti Ma — Google review
Easy walk, almost on a road the whole time with some steps to the top, 20mins. Absolutely no need for a guide, there are tons of tourists and it is a very well developed attraction. IDR 150,000 per person (foreign tourists on weekdays and Saturdays, almost double on Sundays and public holidays), plus IDR 10,000 for car parking. We went after sunrise, leaving the carpark around 7:30am and coming back just after 9am. Our feeling is that around 8:30am the clouds start to roll in a hinder your view.

Wae Rebo Village is a charming and picturesque destination that's definitely worth visiting when in Labuan Bajo. The village features traditional houses and hosts sharing ceremonies that offer visitors a glimpse into local culture. Additionally, there are opportunities to indulge in local cuisine and enjoy overnight stays for an authentic experience. With its stunning beauty, Wae Rebo Village offers an amazing, wonderful, gorgeous and satisfying experience that will leave visitors feeling grateful for the opportunity to enjoy it.
One of the best adventures in Indonesia. The unique nature of the island, a different culture, not the same as on the neighboring islands. Very clean and tidy in every house on the way of the 420 kilometer road. + Incredible views. I think this is the most beautiful island I've ever seen. The walking route to the village now consists of two parts. The first kilometer is equipped and looks like a yellow brick path from the fairy tale of Oz. Then there is a natural path, also trained but still uncovered. There are many streams with drinking water along the way. The sounds and views are amazing. Full immersion in the ancient untouched world. A minimum of civilization. About 3 kilometers uphill and 2 kilometers down, and in front of us there is a view of the mouth of a volcano overgrown with wild forests, in the center of which stands the village of Wae Rebo. We were accepted into the family, entered into the residents' book, fed, given hot tea and coffee, and went to sleep in solitude with nature. Feel all the magic of this exciting adventure yourself. The village is open and waiting for new residents ☺️ 325K per night, dinner, breakfast. Dedication ceremony for donation

Waerebo Village is one of the hidden gem in Labuan Bajo area. Located in Manggarai Regency, NTT. You can go there by depart from Labuan Bajo very early in the morning. Be prepared for the off road it will makes you uncomfortable with whatever the vehicle you ride by and will take approximately 4-5 hours from Ruteng, east Manggarai which is 3 hours from Labuan Bajo. Have a rest there, see spiderweb fields or waterfalls, and next morning wake up early to go from Ruteng to Waerebo because the road there is better. The hiking track is quite friendly for beginner hiker but also quite steep at the start but then definitely not hard. It took about 2hr to climb up, there are local guides who will take you up and down by bike, but you'll have to pay. The village is beautiful, with the traditional house and primitive vibes and we enjoyed the picturesque huts, friendly locals, and children. The village became more touristy after my visit. The coffee is amazing its naturally planted, harvested, roasted and brewed by grandmas in the village. You should try the coffee when you visit here, you can also buy it as souvenir and be prepared to paying with cash only. The view at night are amazing, temperature could be dropped to freezing at night so be prepared with proper jacket. You can see milkyway starry nights very beautiful, and in the morning you can see the clouds are actually below your eye level. So beautiful place to visit.
Putri Dumadi — Google review
One of the most memorable experiences in Indonesia. From the trailhead you can leave your motorbike there and give the helmet to the kiosk owner who will look after it for 10k. You can also rent a walking stick for 10k and it’s very helpful for both the climb and descent. It took me three hours to hike to the village, but a fitter person could do it in two hours. The hike is through the forest so no need to worry about being exposed to the sun. The path is slippery in some places but otherwise in very good condition. Upon entering the village, you will be escorted to the mandatory welcome in the main house, where you will be asked to pay 50k. And then, if you are sleeping there, it is another 325k for a bed, dinner and breakfast the next day. After that, you’re free to do whatever you want, which is mainly admiring the houses, a short walk around the village and then mingling with the villagers and other guests. For 375k, I think it’s great value for money and by no means extortionate. They provide a mattress and blanket but you must bring your own towel. The toilet is clean and there is a bucket shower. The bed is comfortable to sleep on, but a few mosquitoes at night. You share the room with other travelers (about 15 during my stay) but it was fine for a night and nice to interact with everyone. For the dinner and breakfast, they cater for vegetarians. The food is good and filling, I carried a lot of snacks with me, but it was too many. I also carried too many warm clothes - it’s best just to bring one jumper, one raincoat, and 2 x t shirts, jogging bottoms, socks and underwear. I travelled alone but made good friends with the other guests, that makes the trip so much more memorable. We hiked back to the bottom together the next morning. The only downside is the road leaving the Wae Rebo is in bad condition, so be prepared for a bumpy ride. I was a bit nervous coming here as a solo traveler, and was considering to get a guide just for company, but it is not necessarily. From the trailhead the hike is not difficult (just tiring) and you will make friends with the other guests. Thank you Wae Rebo village and I hope to be back some day.

Just magic. I’ve never felt so in awe of life as I did when turning the corner after a long hike and seeing Waerebo Village for the first time. My favorite experience in Flores by far! The hike took around 2 hours and was pretty strenuous (steep), but worth every step. 200k IDR entrance fee but that includes coffee and lunch.

Would highly recommend to go here, it's a ones in a lifetime trip. It took us 5h driving and then 2,5h walking but it was definitely wort it. make sure to bring some water when you start the trip because they don't have a lot in the village also make sure to bring lots of mosquito spray for during the night. You don't have to book in advance just hike up and you are welcomed with a ritual (25k pp)

Went for two days and 1 night staying in waerebo. The trek was easy and pretty. It takes about 2 hours to reach the village. Waerebo people were so friendly, the guest house was comfortable and the food was simple but so so good! Loves everything about this village

IF YOU ARE GOING BY YOURSELF TO WAEREBO, READ ON: We went by bikes from Labuan Bajo to Waerebo. Google Maps shows 2-3 hours, but in reality, it takes much longer than that. The road is terrible, with almost no paved surface, just rocks near the coast (which is the majority of the road, actually). However, the views are awesome. We couldn't arrive in time to the departure spot of the trekking and had to stay for one more night in Denge village. So, consider the following options: 1. Depart from Labuan Bajo very early in the morning. Be prepared for the worst road ever. Take a good bike, like NMax or something similar to it. The road will take approximately 4-5 hours. 2. Go first to Ruteng, which is 3 hours from Labuan Bajo. Have a rest there, see spiderweb fields or waterfalls, and next morning wake up early to go from Ruteng to Waerebo because the road there is better. Still not good, but better. I really hope that the government will pay attention to the road conditions in these areas and improve the infrastructure. Many villages are seen along the way, and they deserve much better roads. Next, the hike: it is quite steep at the start but then definitely not hard. We managed to climb up in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Go with your bike straight to the departure parking spot. The roads there are fine, and it’s better to go by yourself. But if you don't want to, there are locals who will take you up and down by bike, but it costs 100k in total. Make sure your body is covered during the trekking because there are so many leeches! The village is beautiful, and we enjoyed the picturesque huts, friendly locals, and children, but we weren't lucky with the weather. We couldn't stay overnight, so after lunch, we went down, the whole experience cost us 200k per person plus a donation. The village felt a bit touristy already, and I was eager to hear more stories and history about this place, but it didn't happen. We just asked a bunch of questions, but the answers weren't very full. Oh, and the coffee is amazing! Anyway, I think it's a marvelous experience all in all. Go there during the dry season
Yaroslava Chukhmanenko — Google review
At a steady pace, the hike can be done in 1½ hours, but taking a more leisurely stroll and enjoying the scenery, it will be anywhere between 2 and 4 hours. The first part of the hike towards Wae Rebo was paved in the beginning of the COVID period, so you’ll have an easy start. After a while (about 30 minutes, depending on your speed) the paved part ends, and the path gets muddy and rocky, but never really difficult. Some sturdy shoes can be recommended, but of course there are always people who can be spotted walking the path in flip-flops. The hike itself is not that hard, but you’ll definitely be sweaty once you’re done because of the humidity. In the village there are about 7 huts, of which 1 is specifically built for tourists. All the other huts are for the villagers, often housing 4-6 families in one hut. During the day, most of them work in the neighbouring fields, while some others were selling souvenirs such as local coffee and handmade bracelets. Dogs, cats, and chickens can also be seen roaming around the village. Because the village surrounded on all sides by forests and mountains, Wae Rebo can get quite chilly at night. Fog and showers are definitely not uncommon and the weather can change quickly. Most travellers to Wae Rebo stay overnight before going back the next day. The tourist hut has place for about 20 people, all provided for with a comfy mattress, a pillow, and bedsheets. Most people arrive in the (late) afternoon, and leave again the next morning after breakfast. In the evening, a generator provides some light and gives you an opportunity to charge your phone. Around 10 in the evening it goes off and it's time to sleep. Between the sleeping (and eating) area and the kitchen, there are 2 bathrooms with western style toilets and a bucket shower. Both dinner and breakfast is included if you stay overnight in Wae Rebo. In the traditional huts meals are cooked inside the hut, but the meals for the tourists were cooked by the villagers in an adjacent kitchen which is large and smokey. The meals were basic but tasty with rice, vegetables, egg, and krupuk (also for breakfast). We enjoyed dinner and breakfast sitting on the floor and chatting with the other tourists, which were mainly Indonesian. General Tips • Rain gear - When it rains, it can rain really hard. So make sure to bring some rain gear just in case. • Sturdy shoes - Of course there are always people who can be spotted walking the path in flip-flops, but sturdy shoes are recommended. • Comfy clothes - Both short and long trousers are possible for the hike. The path is clear of vegetation, although we did catch some leeches. • Earplugs and a torch - At night earplugs can be recommended because of snoring tourists, and a headlamp or torch to go to the bathroom. • Pyjamas - During the evening we noticed all of the Indonesian tourists taking a shower and changing into pyjamas. • A towel - There are Indonesian bucket showers available and ropes to leave your towel to dry. • Chargers - There is a generator at the village running until 10 PM to charge phones or cameras. Small change - The villagers have plenty of souvenirs for sale such as coffee and bracelets.

Visiting this place was one of the best experiences I had in my life. Starting with the stunning views that accompanied the 4 hours road trip from Labuan Bajo, followed by the 3 hours of hiking with mesmerizing mountain views along the way, bringing me to this beautiful village. During my overnight stay in this village, the internet was not available and electricity was limited. And yet, it was still the best experience to enjoy the sky full of stars (literally) with my naked eyes and to mingle with fellow visitors.

Great experience visiting Wae Rebo at 1.200 msl. with 2-3 hours trekking from the gate. Nice trekking path with a shady atmosphere. Breathtaking view when you reach the village, nice atmosphere, friendly people, nice and clean facilities. Woth It.

This is a unique experience to be able to live in a remote village that did not change much in hundreds of years and see how their people spend their time. It might not be very comfortable but that makes it more authentic. The food provided was really tasty and to marvel at the sky full of stars in complete silence and darkness was unforgetful experience. There is a also an opportunity to buy products made by locals. The trek to the village is not very demanding but I guess it depends on the weather conditions so worth to check in advance.

Pulau Kelor

Mentioned on
Island
Pulau Kelor is a tranquil and picturesque island surrounded by crystal-clear waters, pristine white sandy beaches, and an abundant marine ecosystem. The view is breathtaking with the gradient of blue sea against the green hill on the island. Visitors are advised to wear shoes or tracking sandals as they hike up the mount which takes about 5-10 minutes. The hiking route can be slippery due to sand but it is not difficult to climb.
Beautiful small island. The short tracking part its not to hard so i think most people can enjoy it. Its natural and hot here.

It's a small island actually. But you can hike a small hill (around 7 mins to the top). The path isn't easy because there is no stairs and you need to step carefully since its a bit slippery because of sand. Once you're at the top, the view is great! Blue sky and blue water around you.

Beautiful place and sea You can see the gradient of the blue sea with the green hill in the island To see the beautiful scienery you must climb the hill but not as high as the hill in the Padar Island

This place is amazing! Crystal clear water and white sand combined. A great place to snorkling too! If you travel to Labuan Bajo, usually there are 2 routes that you can pick: 1) Pulau Padar - Pink Beach - Pulau Komodo - Manta Point 2) Pulau Padar - Pulau Rinca - Menjerite (snorkling spot) - Pulau Kelor. Last time I travelled to Labuan Bajo, I picked the 2nd route so I got the chance to visit Pulau Kelor. I was a lil bit dissapointed with Pulau Rinca since the view is just so ordinary. However, Pulau Kelor paid it all. It was great there. To experience the amazing view, you better climb the hills for around 15 mins. Remember to use your sandals coz the sands can be really really hot.

you can trekking and snorkeling here. the underwater view near shore not too good, most of corals are broken. but you can attract the fish using bread or cookies. the trekking are very steep, 20% of it have more than 45° elevation. make sure you wear the appropriate shoes. and the view from the top are breath taking.

This island is the first destination during my 3 days trip to Komodo Island. You can climb up this mount for 30-40 minutes depends on your way of walking. Since I was not a climber I found this was a challenging one to reach the top. But I made it. Beautiful eastern part of Indonesia ❤

In Labuan Bajo, a small island with pedestrian-friendly paths and slow traffic, MadeInItaly Ristorante Italiano is a must-visit for those craving authentic Italian cuisine. This restaurant offers a variety of favorites like ravioli, risotto, pizza, and tiramisu. What makes it stand out is its convenient services including takeout, food delivery, as well as guest pick-up and drop-off.
The best pizza restaurant in Labuan Bajo. The place is nice, and easy to find. Good location. The staffs are friendly. The food are good. Especially the pizza taste great. The best pizza in Labuan Bajo. However, since pandemi many of the menu are not available. If you wanted to eat pizza in Labuan bajo, this restaurant is absolutely recommended. Last but not least, the price is also affordable.

Very tasty meal and very good service from the staff. Pizza crust is thin and crispy and the gnocchi was delicious. Only downside is that the location is a bit out the way however they do offer a free pick up and drop off service. The sitting area could do with a little more lightning to read the menus clearly.

My family enjoy this Italian resto. The menu js not complete yet but still good enough for us. We ordered few dishes for sharing. They are good in doing that (which what we need). The food is delicious, the ambience is nice, spacious and the staff are practicing covid health protocol properly. Highly recommend this place to family dining. It’s consider fine dining due to it’s pricing but it’s still very reasonable for tourist

One of the best Italian food I have tried, even compared to Paris and Venice, this restaurant take Italian food to another level, every pasta is nicer plated and every dish has it unique taste, you can tell the menu is carefully crafted and the chef handmade all the pasta, have been coming back here since the first day of my trip this is my 3rd visit, the boss is super passionate he update the menu regularly, have no complain but praises for the dish they crafted. The only cons if I have to give is that some junior server might not understand English fully, but the senior server will definitely have no problem.

Went to this place for dinner but received such a horrible experience. Didn’t look at the reviews in the internet at first cuz foods looked quite legit from their ig. Apparently owner has such a high ego and no wonder this place is not recommended, could be improve though (from food wise and hospitality). Let me get this straight, ambiance is just ok. Under the dining table has lots of mosquitoes, you guys could hire a pest control vendor actually. Bugs got into my drinks. I feel annoyed by the waitress staring at us with her eyes rolled. But maybe we asked too many questions that we should’ve got the explanation in the first place, such as product knowledge (did the head chef ever explain what they have in their menu to their team?), didnt even get the proper cheese knife. If you guys have it on the menu you guys should have been able to explain to us. Pears on the cheese platter were overly riped and looked poor. Pizza was poorly executed, dough was not properly shaped and dusted with flour (some parts got too much flour that we could scrapped it off). Black tagliolini with baby squid and asparagus ? Even the worst! Baby squid was so bland. Dont even ask about the asparagus. It was the worst asparagus I’ve ever had in my life. Tasted like ‘cah kangkung’ even the cah kangkung tasted better than your asparagus. Dessert ? Dont order one. Short crust with salted caramel is so horrible. Crust was not even baked properly, caramel is so runny and overly salted, bothered by the placement of the cocoa powder or whatever you call it. How dare you put it on the menu??? Price wise overly expensive for this quality. Im so disappointed. Chef really should improve their food.

the homemade pastas and pizzas were so delicious. convenient (and free) shuttle service provided. quiet and cozy ambience however the weather made the dining experience a bit too humid and warm as there isn't air-conditioning and the fans weren't very effective. the main dishes also took longer than expected to come out. however I would definitely come back as the food was great!

One of the best Italian restaurant! Not only in Labuan Bajo. The frittura is very light, not oily. The seafood soup is also amazing! Pastas also great. A gem!
Istata Siddharta — Google review
Let’s start from the service, by the time we arrive service was just normal. We were kinda expecting a proper dinner cuz we were intrigued by the photos they uploaded on their social media. After we ordered several dishes we started to ask just a ‘normal questions’ such as what kind of cheese they were using or which one is which type of the cheese they plated on the platter. Because it was our right to know the ingredients that we were going to digest or simply it was also our right to pay for the price they put in their menu right ? But oh boy we were wrong, the waitress was so slow, seems like they avoided to answer us ? Not to mention they rolled their eyes sometimes. We asked what was on the cheese platter but they went back and forth to ask to their team. I’m kinda wondering if they really went into a proper training though. I mean it is an obligation for a waitress to know their menu as if you sell the products but not knowing the details of the product. Weird isn’t it ? Second, the food. Had to give the credit if the welcome bread was quite good although cheese platter was just ‘MEH’. Pear has oxidized and texture was disgusting and flimsy. Margarita Pizza was okay but overly dusted by flour. I’m starting to wonder, did I just order a sack of flour cuz all I tasted mainly was just flour. Isn’t pizza a simple dish and supposedly hard to mess up with ? Even small pizza shop in Milan that was way cheaper served better than what you guys had. Not to mention, my mood went downhill soon after we tried the squid ink pasta with asparagus. Never in my entire life I’ve seen a lifeless asparagus. Even canned asparagus is better in every aspect. That’s how overcooked the asparagus was. (took the photo from the internet, but same one as the one we got that night) After we ‘enjoyed’ our dinner, we asked the waitress to let the mighty dessert out. Cuz everyone will always have room for dessert right ? The cherry on top has bursted as they landed their dessert on our table. For a prestigious Italian restaurant that claimed to be an authentic one, it was a horrible experience. Short crust was underbaked, salted caramel was salty (did they just poured a kilo of salt to their caramel?), hazelnut tasted like you bought over 10 years ago. Don’t even bother about the presentation, it looked horrible that I would think it was a 2 years old baby playing with their sensory skill. It’s better to not spare your tummy space for another dessert, but we were still curious about our second dessert. Soon we regretted for another chance of trying the tiramisu. By looking their inedible petals I already had no desire to try. The inedible petals was just useless, and the texture of the cream was like vomit. Slightly taste of mascarpone and coffee, cream was so runny and I could tell that the cacao powder is very cheap. I swear, it was just a horrible experience. Third, the ambiance. Can’t fail to mention the bugs and mosquitos are everywhere. Do you guys have monthly schedule to do pest control ? If the simple pest control has failed, how about the HACCP ? Oh, is that why your cutlery has spots ? For the price we’ve spent that night, it was not worth at all. Need to improve on many aspects and hope you listen to the customers for your own sake. Thank you

Our family of 4 enjoyed an absolutely sublime meal. The service was excellent. The food was worthy of an international award. I can not fathom how this chef has managed to procure the produce & staff training required to serve such culinary delights. 10/10! Thank you for a wonderful evening. We heard rave reviews from our friends about this spot and caved in after a night of food poisoning (from a popular luxury resort 15 mins drive away). It was everything and more. Incredible flavours and attentive service—probably best on the island that we experienced. We loved it so much that we came everyday during our trip. Preferred dining here compared to our 5 star hotel, so that says something! Our top three favorites are pictured below. Don’t miss out on the Bresaola pizza and tiramisu either. Owner is very kind to offer round trip transport from your hotel, make sure to ask for it. Keep up the good work, chef Marco and team. We’ll be back!

Happy Banana Komodo, a Japanese fusion restaurant located in Labuan Bajo, is renowned for its delectable sushi and has earned a spot among the top five restaurants in the area on Tripadvisor. Visitors rave about the divine food, particularly the sushi and udon noodles. The menu offers many vegan options and unique variations of Buddha bowls such as the sea goddess' or geisha' bowls.
The poke bowl come in big portion. It taste really good. Sunset roll also good. For tuna tataki, the mash potato is too creamy, while the tuna itself is fresh and taste good. Will be back to Try other menu.

Worth a visit if you enjoy sushi and sashimi. We had the crunchy tuna roll and the tuna sashimi and both were fantastic. The sashimi was very good quality tuna. We tried the vegan chocolate mousse for dessert and it was also very good. We had a smoothie as well which was a bit warm or room temperature, and we prefer cold smoothies, so keep that in mind if you order a smoothie here. Wait times were surprisingly short given how crowded it was and prices were reasonable. Staff were also all very friendly.

Coming from Los Angeles, my expectations on sushi are pretty high. Ended up going with the salmon lovers dish of 4 sushi, 4 sashimi, and a volcano roll. The quality of the salmon far exceeded my expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The service from the staff was amazing and couldn’t have been more happy with my first dinner on Labuan Bajo. A “must have” when visiting the island!

Best sushi restaurant in town. It was such a satisfying dinner we had after a long day. They have a lot of food varieties to choose from: sashimi, either traditional or special sushi rolls, poke bowls, ramen, udon, fish tacos and more. I got the udon soup to start my dinner with, it had a generous amount of fish, which tasted very fresh and the broth was very rich in spices and silky, just perfect. We got spicy salmon roll, rainbow roll, chef's special samba roll and others which I don't remember their name. I loved their own style of fried sushi rolls, and also the presentation was on point The restaurant itself is located downtown, has a very nice ambiance to it, warm lights and just a very inviting atmosphere overall. All the chefs are experts, and prepare the food with fresh fish and only the highest quality ingredients, hence the high price tag on the food, however it's totally worth it

The most delicious place on the island! We went here three days in a row and tried a lot of different food for breakfast and dinner. Everything is very tasty, orders are brought quickly, and on the last day they opened later (after warning) because they had a general cleaning. I am very happy! We had the pleasure of dining at Happy Banana, a wonderful sushi restaurant in the enchanting town of Labuan Bajo, Flores, Indonesia. Our experience was so enjoyable that we decided to visit this place not just once, but twice during our stay. On our first night, we were slightly disappointed as they had run out of salmon, which happens to be one of our favorite sushi ingredients. Nevertheless, we found that their tuna dishes more than made up for it. The tuna was remarkably fresh, tender, and packed with delightful flavors, leaving us thoroughly impressed. What truly left an impression was the cozy ambiance at Happy Banana. It provided the perfect setting for a relaxed evening of indulging in delicious sushi. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had a wonderful dining experience. When we visited for the second time, we were thrilled to find that they had replenished their salmon supply. The salmon sushi we had that night was outstanding, reaffirming their commitment to top-quality ingredients. Happy Banana isn't just a place for great sushi; it's a reflection of the warmth of Labuan Bajo, adding to the vibrancy of the town's food scene. The combination of scrumptious sushi, inviting atmosphere, and attentive service makes it an absolute must-visit for any sushi enthusiast passing through Flores. La Cucina in Labuan Bajo is a beloved family-owned Italian restaurant known for its inviting ambiance and authentic cuisine. The charming trattoria-style setting exudes a cozy Mediterranean atmosphere with maritime-inspired decor in blue and white. The focus on simplicity and elegance is reflected in the carefully prepared dishes, reminiscent of homemade Italian meals. What an amazing Italian restaurant in Labuan Bajo. I got to this restaurant while walking on the street and looking at the fair menu pricing decided to give it a try and WOW!! The pizzas here are heavenly and so fresh, light and great tasting. I loved it so much that I got back again for the second day for lunch. I ordered the small pizza (great for one person) each time, had the octopus pizza with garlic and got an extra topping of spicy Salami and the next day ordered the pizza with chicken ham and spicy Salami again. Both were delivered in great time and were delicious. I ordered the ice tea which was refreshing as well. I did not try other items on the menu but the pizza was excellent and they have an extensive choice. The service was friendly as well and the restaurant is nicely decorated too.

Top notch local Italian restaurant. They also serve alcoholic drinks. Good price. Thin curst pizza is the best. The salad is slightly not to my personal liking. The pasta is good but the tagliate is kinda hard. It comes free bread with olive and balsamic oil.

Our experience at La Cucina, an Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Indonesia, was a blend of satisfaction and room for improvement. The highlight was the pizza, which, given the context of being in Indonesia, was quite enjoyable. However, it didn’t quite reach the level of authenticity one might expect in Italy. The pizza’s dough was slightly undercooked, impacting its texture, and the quality of the salami was not at the highest tier. A notable detail for fellow diners is that the prices listed on the menu did not include a 10% tax, which was an unexpected addition to the final bill. Despite this, the overall dining experience was enjoyable. The restaurant’s interior exuded a cozy charm, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. The service at La Cucina was swift, ensuring we didn’t have to wait excessively for our meals. An important tip to consider is that reservations are essential if you plan on dining at the restaurant after 19:00, which indicates its popularity during peak hours. In summary, La Cucina offers a decent Italian dining experience in Indonesia, but there’s potential for refinement. The pizza, while not a perfect match for Italy, was satisfying given the location. The pleasant interior and quick service added to the overall positive impression, although the surprise tax inclusion is something to be aware of.

I was pretty skeptical of this place... "Italian food in LB? It can't be good." was my initial thought. But, decided to try it because my group wanted to try it. Well, I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the food here, especially the bruschetta, pear salad, and the handmade pasta. Everything was seasoned well and liked how" bouncy" the handmade pasta was. I didn't enjoy the pizza as much. I wasn't a big fan of the crust and the toppings my group chose. Overall, give this a try. It might surprise you like it did for me. Also, keep in mind that this is in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia, and not Italy. Do not compare this to what you can get in Italy.

Breakfast is small and alright, it was the only place I found open early in the morning. But I do recommend coming for the pasta! They start lunch foods at 11am. Homemade gnocchi primavera was great. The pasta was the only western food I've had in Indonesia that actually tastes like western food and not like Indonesian western-style food. Juice is very expensive, makes me wonder if any fruits actually grow in the area 🧐

We ordered the regular margarita pizza and the salad with feta and walnuts. The pizza was neither exceptional nor terrible. I definitely had way better. Additionally, it didn't come split, which is not a big deal, yet definitely inconvenient. The salad was tasty, though it didn’t come with any dressing. Oil and vinegar are available on the table, and you make your dressing. I also got to try the vegan basil lemon ice cream and the mango sorbet. As vegetarian people, We appreciated the effort of proposing alternative Ice cream. They were good but too sweet for me. The experience did not live up to be price.

"A Pleasant Surprise at La Cucina in Labuan Bajo" During my recent visit to Labuan Bajo, I had the opportunity to dine at La Cucina, an Italian restaurant that's making a name for itself with its coastal charm and impressive service. The first thing that strikes you about La Cucina is its decor. Perfectly suited for its beachside location, the restaurant exudes a relaxed, yet sophisticated ambiance. The use of light, airy colors and nautical-themed accents immediately sets a tone that is both welcoming and appropriately thematic. As for the food, the pasta is undoubtedly the star of the show. It was evident that the pasta was fresh, offering a delightful texture that you can only get from handcrafted noodles. While the other dishes were generally okay, nothing particularly stood out in terms of flavor or presentation. They were satisfying but didn't leave a lasting impression. However, where La Cucina truly shines is in its service. From the moment we stepped in, the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in ensuring we had a great dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offered great wine pairing suggestions, and were prompt without being intrusive. In conclusion, La Cucina offers a pleasant dining experience in Labuan Bajo. While the food may not be groundbreaking, the fresh pasta and the impeccable service more than make up for it. It's a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed meal with a view, coupled with service that makes you feel like a valued guest.

My experience eating here twice and different menu items. Lemon chicken was okay but chicken quality seemed off, including mashed potato which were cold. Next day we ordered pizza. Veggie and another chicken based. The chicken was not real but sliced deli chicken you find as deli meat. Smoothies were not bad but quite expensive. Overall quite expensive for the food but was happy to have a Italian food after eating Indonesian food for many days straight :) The spaghetti handmade was not bad but the noodles were hard and not soft.

Stopped by with party of 5 for lunch and was not disappointed. Servers were attentive but due their large menu, even with Medan/Jakarta Indonesians asking questions there were some hiccups communicating menu details with trainee server. MENU: only electronic via QR code, large number of menu options so it can be hard to scan the menu and make selections with a lot of scrolling up and down. Electronic menus can be frustrating for older folks (over 50) with diminished vision. That was 4 of our 5 people LOL. Appetizers, Pasta, pizza, drinks, cocktails and desserts, good variety to choose from. Bigger beer selection than most places we've been last 6 weeks in Indonesia. Everyone seemed satisfied with their pastas and I with my small pizza, spicy salami! I didn't care for my wife's gnocchi sauce, a bit bland, but she liked it. Tried the tiramisu, was more of a custard, leaning mild coffee flavor and the marscapone cheese emulsion was nice.

A chance find - perfect pizza, really tasty pesto spaghetti and garlic bread. Reasonable prices. Would recommend booking or going there early in the evening as when we left (around 7pm) there was queuing out the door.

Their fired pizza oven makes excellent crispy dough and crust. The flavors and meats are high quality. We did lunch and dinner there. Their fresh fruit juices are also good. Great view of harbor and sunset.

The place is clean and nice. I've ordered breakfast "Cafe Latte"& "Granola, Season Fruit, Honey, Yogurt" but I don't get my granola & honey.

The food is good, but this is the only place in Bajo with unfriendly staff. When we're eating, there's only 2 tables to be served (include ours), but when I ask the staff to take picture of us since the view is gorgeous, they said they're all busy. And will take our pic after they're not busy. Note : They have like 7 staffs, maybe around 60m2 restaurant, only 2 tables to be served, but they said they're busy.

Restaurant is at the first floor with a nice view over the bay. I had the « chili crab ». (Kepiting saus cabe) and let’s be clear : best chili crab I ever had ! Lot of flavors and hot ! You can’t go wrong with this one 😋

Really good sandwich we ate here! They make the bread themselves and it was delicious. Would highly recommend!

Food is worse. I ordered medium tenderloin steak, They overcooked it to well done. Since i had high expectation for a good food with their 250k price. It was not a tenderloin anymore, in fact that was hardloin. I complained to the staff no proper response especially the girl waiter. No manager on duty. Dear owner, Please re evaluate your staff and kitchen staff.

Food and fresh juice average at best. Ordered avocado juice, spicey eggplant and prawn and lemon sauce chicken. Stir fry vegetables good. Tables and chairs were unclean. View is amazing Staff are friendly and attentive Over priced for quality of food. I'd come back for beer and view only.

Nice place to have dinner with large group, central location and fantastic night view of the waterfront. Good range of food on the menu, recommend to get more than just main if you are hungry.

Super fun open-air spot overlooking the harbor. Good food, friendly service. Family friendly. Lot of people are eating the brick oven pizzas which looks spectacular. I had the house grilled whole fish and the tuna. Attention to detail is high. Pro tip; if you order beers and there's two of you or one at a time so they don't get warm!

The best place in town for oven fired pizza. My children wanted to eat here every day for this reason, and our daughter chose this restaurant for her birthday dinner! The sunsets at Green Cherry are incredible and a wonderful place for a photo op to capture the dream bay in Labuan Bajo. The menu is carefully selected with a variety of delicious cuisine with Asian to European delicacies, including beverages. Among my favourite are also the breakfast. I loved taking in the morning view of the Bay while enjoying an absolutely stunning breakfast with items for the whole family to choose from. The hosting team are friendly and attentive. I am really looking forward to returning!

Fantastic building / architecture. Worth visiting just for that and the view. The food was delicious.

I rarely give bad reviews but I was so disappointed with the food at its price point. The amount of chicken they give in the curry is really pathetic for its price. It’s just bits and pieces of chicken. There are really much better places to eat at really.. the curry itself is very diluted as well. For its mediocre and stingy amount of food, it is really not worth it at its price point. I’m not saying the food is inedible. I’m just saying it is not worth it.

Good and huge place to hang out..!! Unfortunately..!! The service is very bad... you need to go to the bar or call waiter to order... and take a long time to get the order...!

Disappointing. We charged 100k for entry for cigarettes and beer. The security didn't tell us all the seats were reserved and we couldn't sit anywhere. Even the staff blamed us because we didn't know the rules. Bro when your staff start blaming customer for your own fault, you need to evaluate your staff. I am staying for 2 weeks in kupang and planning for next week stay on sotis. But no thanks, after this incident i will extend my hotel right now.

Western food, but also local in Kupang if you wish. Portions are only small and prices are excl. 20% tax. Normally tax is stated under the menu, but not here if I’m right. This makes Bintang small the most expensive one in months, of 58K ex. Even more than Single Fins on Uluwatu Sundaypartynight. Good service but small portions and overpriced without any reason.

nice place to stay,i love the beaches behind the hotel, its will be better if the hotel add more menu for breakfast, the menu was too simple but not bad. its nice for your kids they could play on the beachband swim in the pool

Went here for sunset dinner when staying in Kupang for 2 nights. Can't recommend more highly. The food was incredible, especially the beef ribs (IGA), and the drinks were great. The managment even gave us some free local beers that reminded us of of UK micro breweries (Hace Kupang Beer). After dinner we played pool for a couple of hours and enjoyed the ambience. Wonderful evening all round, must visit when in town.

Great view of Kupang Bay. Can sit down on the beach in the shade. Pepperoni pizza was good. Super thin crust. Bintang wasn't that cold though.

Beautiful location and garden, with a great pool and beach area. But the service was almost non-existent and they charged 70k for a small Bintang. I've never seen that before!
