Sights & Landmarks
The Mehrangarh Fort Museum and Trust showcases the rich history of this iconic fort, which was built by Raja Rao Jodha in 1459 AD. The museum features a range of exhibits, including paintings, sculptures and howdahs from the royal palanquin collection. It also holds a superb collection of Rashtrakuta art, making it one of India's most important tourist attractions.
Brilliant architecture! Great views. A lot of history. An amazing place for photography. You can also avail a tasty lemonade inside for a reasonable price. I truly loved this place even in the scorching September heat. November to March recommended for pleasant visits. Don't forget to enjoy the lassi at the Tower below.

Beautiful fort. It definitely takes minimum 2hrs to see the place.! One of the best places to take insta worthy pictures. Folk song artists, shopping points and restaurant/cafe all available inside the fort. Need to wear masks.
Shivangi Kashyap — Google review
Beautiful well preserved. One of the richest fort in India. You can enjoy the evening by booking dinner and enjoy the night view at the top of the palace. You can book a tour guide if you are interested and love history. Worth the money. Towards the end of the tour, there is a shop you can buy merchandise and other collectibles and gifting item and memento.

Very beautiful and well maintained fort. I would recommend you to take a guide when you visit this fort. It will make your visit interesting and you will get to learn more about the history. 1. You can go on top of fort by lift as well. You will be charged 50 rs per person 2. Fort ticket is 300 rs 3. Guide will cost 500 for group of 4-5 people.

What an incredible experience at Mehrangarh Fort! It's seriously well taken care of, kudos to the authorities for preserving it so well. And I totally appreciate the no outside food rule – keeps the place super clean. Walking around, you can just feel the weight of all that history. And yeah, there are a couple of cafes inside, but they can be a bit pricey. Still, the views and vibe make it worth it. The entry fee is reasonable, ₹200/- for Indian adults, and getting a guide is worth it for sure. They charge in group of 4. Audio guides are also available if you want to go with it. Sure, the initial climb is a bit steep, but they've got handrails to help out. Paid parking is available at the designated parking space.

Well I liked this place with lovely places, pics and history related things. Height is lovely airy in such summer time too. Museum is good has shopping options too restaurant in house as well on the way of your tour. And yes not to forget musicians are awesome . Must visit.

It's a beautiful fort. To explore and understand the fort, you'd better pick a guide. It will definitely take 2 hours to see and understand the history of the fort. On the way, you will see an artist playing folk songs. You can either walk or use a lift by paying an extra amount. You will also see a lot of Swifts humming on your way in.
Sunil Murali — Google review
Beautiful fort. Public toilets inside are clean and plenty. The administration is good and disciplined. If you have mobility issues then take a ticket for using lift too. Else, you may have to climb 3 to 4 storeys. The fort is beautiful and so is the surrounding view. Parking is around 300 metres from the actual entrance. But is plenty. Autos are available from parking space to entrance. You can take the vehicle till the entrance of the fort, drop the passengers and then take it back to the parking space 300 metres away.

Loved the trip to fort. Breathtaking views all around. From Jodhpur blue city to well used in the Dark knight movie. We hired a guide and he gave us superb overview of history of the fort. Lots of great places to click pictures, truly feels royal up here. They have some drink and food shops up there which are much required for Jodhpur heat. Its worth taking an elevator on the way up and walk your way down. Given right weather one can easily spend few hours here.

A must must must visit place. It’s astonishingly beautiful 😻 do take a guide, the guide provides good history about the fort. There is one restaurant inside the fort, it has amazing food. The guides are government certified. They take 400 rupees charges. I would visit again.

Beautiful fort and very well maintained. It has a lift as well to take you directly to the top from where you can walk around seeing each element. The craftsmanship is absolutely out of this world and the minute stone carving is something that will make you wonder how on earth these were even achievable in that era. Every wall has a story so it is highly recommended to have a guide with you to explain each detail. The pictures don't do justice,, you really have to experience it

Awesome.! Must visit 😊 Beautiful construction and well maintain. You might need an hour and half to fully cover it. Guides are available they have chart board at entrance and the Fort visiting fees are 200₹/person. Lift are provided but I think there is no need to wait in line for (10-30min), just go by waking it will take 10min or less to reach top

Wow!! An excellent fort to visit. Being in private hands, the fort is well maintained and clean. The architecture is mind boggling and worth a visit. We availed of the guide services and the guide assigned to us - Chotu Singh- was very decent, well mannered and knowledgeable. You can spend hours photographing beautiful facets of the fort. There folk singers and musicians at various points and they are very very talented. The shoes and other handicrafts sold are worth buying. Overall excellent place to visit.

One of the best place to visit while on trip to jodhpur. Try to go avoid in the afternoon it is too hot in the summer, go early morning or in the evening. From the fort they also provide zip-lining service it you have time, you should explore that too.

I don't think one stands anywhere to rate any marvel like this. It is a great masterpiece of its time and the present additions and restorations have done quite a justice to its grandeur. For me this is the most well curated fort i have ever been to. The overall aesthetics, tour sequence, cafe, museum everything is very well integrated and cohesive.

This is one of the most beautiful and worth visiting, must visit Fort, if you enjoy visiting Forts. Tips to remember: 1. Carry your own water bottle and umbrella. 2. I would suggest best time to visit is Octiber- January. 3. Wear comfortable footwear, seriously people do not think you can walk this place without proper footwear. 4. Keep a full day alloted to this Fort, if you really want to enjoy your visit. 5. DO NOT MISS THAT SUNSET, you will be thankful to yourself that you caught it, it has one of the most beautiful shadows and light play at sunset. I hope you enjoy this place too. Really large area to cover and just beautiful 😍

Very well maintained place. There is a museum and 3 to 4 temples inside. Around an hour in this place, the staff are very polite and helpful. The ticket costs around 200 rupees but worth the visit. The fort opens at around 9 am. We were pleasantly surprised by the music as well in this place (There is a person outside with an instrument and there is band musicians as well to entertain the guests).
Swetha Ramkumar — Google review
We came to see the fort in the early morning, so no many people around, but as we were going back we saw a lot of people coming in, mainly school visits. The fort took 400y to be built and it has more than 500y. It was built from the stones it sits on. Unless you are mobility challenged I don’t think you’ll need the lift. It was just 3 flights of stairs, or maybe I missed something 😅 The building is very well preserved and some rooms are different from what you would expect.
Antonieta Ponce de Leão — Google review
The fort has magnificent history and has many floors. For the convenience of tourists a lift has been installed which is paid. It will take you to the top most floor and then you can come down while observing things Very well maintained place. There is a museum and 3 to 4 temples inside. Around an hour in this place, the staff are very polite and helpful. The ticket costs around 200 rupees but worth the visit. The fort opens at around 9 am. Fort is well maintained. Everything good. Govt taking good care of historical places. Out side food items not allowed and this is good service. Place so clean and historical. I enjoyed place. Fee 200/- per person Indian adult. It's approx 2-3 hour visit.

Must visit to know our pride, Great historical monument. There is an elevator (lift) for public to reach directly to the main part of fort. Must bring the ticket from front desk. There is a concession for Defence personnel for entrance fees. Great place to know our ancestors history. Mehrangarh is proud of our nation and also noted in UNESCO

It's a magnificent fort with spectacular details. Definitely a must visit. Don't forget to wear comfortable footwear as you will have to walk a lot to explore the fort. Would recommend a good 2-3 hours at least to see this place. Have a good time! Also visit Jaswant Thada temple which is very nearby to this fort. The view will keep you spellbound 😍

The fort closes in the evening at 5pm and opens in the morning. It's a great tourist place to visit, I visited in the month of January at 3pm it isn't that cold at almost 400 feet above ground level. If you are a foreigner there is a counter at the entrance where you can exchange dollars with Indian rupees. The fort was built in 1459 by the King Jodha. It's one of the largest forts in India. The place is rich with 500 years of history in India. You may need 3 hours to visit the entire place with some time spent clicking photographs. There is a lift that you can use to reach the top of the fort. You can also choose to walk if you want. The price of lift is 50 rupees up and down. The ticket entrance to this place for adults is 200 rupees per head. I went with my dad and mom. It cost us 750 rupees for entry tickets plus lift usage. The security people at the fort are very friendly. They will guide you if you are lost.

The Fort in Jodhpur is a true architectural marvel and an absolute must-visit for all travelers exploring Rajasthan. This imposing fortress stands majestically above the blue city, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The history and cultural significance of this fort are fascinating. It's incredible to see how the architects and builders of centuries past created such an impressive structure that remains remarkably well-preserved to this day. The various courtyards, palaces, and temples within the fort are rich in history and artistry. The opulent chambers and intricate carvings are a feast for the senses. One can spend hours exploring the different rooms and discovering the stories concealed within the walls. Another highlight is the view of the city of Jodhpur itself. The vibrant blue houses contrast beautifully with the desert landscape, providing a captivating backdrop for photographers. The conservation and upkeep of the fort are commendable, and visitors can immerse themselves in the history and culture of Rajasthan up close. The Fort in Jodhpur is a place that should not be missed when exploring this captivating region of India.
Thao — Google review
It's a major fort in the history of jodhpur. However, there should be clear instructions right at the entrance regrading tickets. There is one room selling entry tickets for Rs 600/-, which is less crowded and 15 or tourist guides waiting to pounce on you point you to that office; I think this is meant for non-Indian citizens, but cleverly, it doesn't say so. However there's another less conspicuous room right next to the entrance which is usually crowded and you can't read the signs, I went there, ignoring the touts, and discovered that it says 'General' and the price of entry tickets is Rs. 200/-. I am sure the management is well aware of this, but let things be as they are for whatever reasons!
Tanmoy Bhattacharya — Google review
Main Attraction of Fort is Museum and few artists who play instruments and sing folk songs. Whole Fort can be covered in 2 hours with plenty of photographs. Voice Guide facility is also available for tourists with multiple languages. Better to visit the place early in the morning as it is less crowded and convenient.

The Chauhan's Art Gallery & Art School is a popular place for art lovers in Jodhpur. The gallery has a superb collection of handmade artwork, and the school offers classes in painting and sculpture. Prices for paintings and sculptures are very reasonable, making this an excellent option for those looking to purchase art without breaking the bank.

Just 1km from Mehrangardh Fort. It’s located the best Gallery Art and Painting in Jodhpur. Hosted by Bunty and his lovely family, I was invited to contemplate his beautiful paintings and drawings of all kinds. I could enjoy paintings of Indian Gods, Kings, Nature and Costumes. With a very accesible price, he offers here the same painting that are sold inside the Fort Museum but made from his own hand. I could also enjoy a delicious meal with him and his young son, sharing and talking about his beautiful culture and his amazing job.

This was my first visit to Rajasthan. Quite unusually my driver Mr sureshji insisted on visiting Mr. Chauhans art gallery. With my initial doubts I entered the gallery just for my kid who is learning drawing quite seriously. To my surprise the variety of Rajasthani contemprary art collection was very good putting my doubts out of the window. Kudos to Mr Chauhan & team for keeping the art alive. There were some exquisite pieces of art. Anyone visiting Rajasthan/Jodhpur should find time to visit this treasure house and preferably own some pieces of this unique art.

The Umaid Heritage Art School is a wonderful place to visit if you are interested in learning about Indian fine line painting. The courses offered here are very skillful and will help you produce beautiful paintings that you can be proud of. The staff at the school are incredibly experienced and will be able to teach you everything you need to know in order to create beautiful works of art.
An absolute must visit, and I cannot stress this enough especially for those who want to witness and learn more about traditional art in Jodhpur. Vijay Prajapat is the only man you need to meet and spend time with there. We spent about 2 hours conversing with him and examining every beautiful art piece with a magnifying lens. This was undoubtedly one of the best parts of our trip. The knowledge and memories you take away from this place as an art lover will remain dear to you for a long time to come.

Such a beautiful art school! We stayed for 4 hours learning how to paint in the traditional way - VJ was very knowledgeable and patient with us, he even brought us chai and samosas! We had a fantastic time and all ended up leaving with some gorgeous art work - even if you’re not interested in painting yourself there are tons of beautiful pieces to sift through! Thank you VJ, I would love to come back and learn more techniques :):)

We had a great few hours here learning how to do the miniature paintings. Our teacher was very patient and helpful, and we had really interesting conversations about life and culture in India too. 1000 rupees pp. Great experience :)

This has to be a stop for any tourist. They keep the culture of traditional Rajasthani paintings alive. One can either learn how to paint in the style (for free), buy some artwork done by artisans of the school, or even just admire the skill and dexterity that envelops each painting. Vijay is the school master and is also a great conversationalist.

Vijay is a guru of this style of painting. We went to 11 a.m. painting session and enjoyed a lot. It usually takes 2-3 hrs. We could avoid strong sunshine at the hottest time of day. He is a very kind teacher, even a beginner can try Indian fine line painting. I recommend this place to a person who wants some cultural experience in Jodhpur.
Seolhee Jeon — Google review
We highly recommend a morning here as part of a trip to Jodhpur! We came for the 11am art class, and had guidance from Vijay, the master, for 2-3hours. We left with a lovely painting each, having enjoyed chats, chai and creativity, and hope to return for more.

I highly recommend Umaid Heritage Art School for anyone interested in art or looking to share a creative experience. We stumbled upon the school and had a delightful conversation with Vijay, so we decided to return the next day for a miniature painting workshop. We spent hours with Vijay, learning miniature painting techniques while exchanging captivating stories about art, culture, and life. Vijay's exceptional skills as an artist, combined with his teaching ability and storytelling talent, made the experience both educational and enjoyable. As a result, we left with our own miniature creations and a newfound appreciation for art. Our visit to Umaid Heritage Art School was undeniably a highlight of our stay in Jodhpur. Don't miss the opportunity to explore your artistic side and learn from the talented Vijay.

Seems like a decent guy but towards the end he referred me to a scam textile shop, Maharani. He also sold me saffron at an inflated price, according to my guesthouse. Nature & Parks
Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, adjacent to the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, is a vast area of 72 hectares that was reclaimed from an invasive species to restore its natural ecology. Opened to the public in 2011, this park offers a great opportunity for nature enthusiasts and hikers alike with its distinctive rock formations and arid Rajasthani landscape.
An interesting take at exploring Jodhpur's natural beauty. An entry ticket of ₹100/person. Involves a fair amount of physical exertion but provides you with a refreshing time with nature. Offers a beautiful view of, and is only walking distance from, Mehrangarh fort.
Irshna Srivastava — Google review
The most under rated place in Jodhpur. It's beautiful and has different plants which are available. The narrow passages which are called elephant passages are quite beautiful. There are guides available who can walk through all the area. It's quite a long Trek which can take from 4-5 hours if you want to visit the full area. The guides are available on demand and you should visit in the morning. There are early entries around 8am in the morning along with a guide. They can show you multiple places where you can watch different birds. The sounds they make in the early morning are very good. Spend a half day over here and you won't regret it at all..!

The Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park in Jodhpur is a stunning initiative to conserve and showcase the natural desert ecosystem of the region. It's known for its unique rock formations, indigenous plant species, and breathtaking views of the Mehrangarh Fort. It's a must-visit for nature lovers and anyone interested in the desert landscape. There are hiking trails available in the Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park. These trails offer visitors the opportunity to explore the park's rugged terrain, observe its diverse flora and fauna, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the desert landscape.

Don't miss this place. You need enough time to explore the whole park. I prefer you to reach here at 4.30 so that you can witness beautiful sunset from the hills and able to capture good photos of fort. They will provide you a map of the jodhpur ,its really cool and can be keep with you. Ticket can also be used as a bookmark.

Nice place to visit. We came early morning for a guided walk tour with Blue City Walks. There were no other people and it was very tranquil to walk along the elephant canal until the Padamsar Talab. I recommend to visit before the sun is high, otherwise it might get too hot. There are many steps along the way, so it's not wheelchair friendly. The pathways are quite clear of shrubs, however, especially if you're going in the afternoon expect some bugs it is part of the nature.

Hello! I visited this place with my friends on weekend. The place is really beautiful and worth the visit. But keep in mind the weather factor as it is outdoor activity. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for comfort. If visiting in summer, try to reach at 7AM sharp to avoid heat stroke and sunlight, and if in winters then accordingly 8-9AM. Though the place is exploring the nature, then why the ticket is above ₹100?

If you're visiting Mehrangarh you should also visit here.Various types of desert rocks and plants , shrubs can be seen here. Its an adventurous trek. Recommended for young people who are enthusiastic about trails.Dont forget to carry water bottle or purchase from the entry as inside there is no source of water . Eatables are allowed but please don't litter the place.A map is provided which guides us the various paths of the desert. If you are lost then you can contact them on the number provided in the map guide. Try to wear shoes 👟 as it's risky to wear sandals/chappals and trek.Must visit 👌

Extremely close to Mehrangarh Fort, this is one place that you cannot afford to miss when you are visiting Jodhpur. Explore nature and wildlife in a completely different light when you visit this wonderful park. You will be stunned to see such greenery in the midst of a place that's known as a desert. Be on a lookout for some birds and animals that you can spot! Taking the guide to this place is a must and if possible, visit either early in the evening or during the second half of the day.
Aman Tonk — Google review
My 14yo suggested we add this to our Jodhpur itnry and what a find it is! The naturalists that guide you are super knowledgeable and patient. It was so nice exploring the local flora and fauna. We even saw a herd of wild boar cross us on the yellow trail. We had Vikram as the naturalist guiding us on the yellow trail and he was amazing This little oasis is run by the same Trust that operates the Fort and is beautifully presented. I didn't quite expect to see so much, but we even encountered wild boar and a mongoose, saw plenty of interesting birds and loads of butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies. A little pond in the red trail was full of skittering frogs. It was hot but there was plenty of shade to be had especially along the Yellow trail. Wonderful views of the Fort and glimpses of the blue City beyond. Good information along the trails and I especially liked the display and explanation of different soils and rocks in the Rajasthan desert areas and how they affect plant growth. And all for Rs 100. Highly recommended (as are a hat, sunblock, plenty of water and good shoes).

Got to know about this place via google and is one of the best experiences that everyone visiting Jodhpur should go to. The park has various trails. I suggest you to take the blue trail for which you'll have to contact a day prior as a guide takes you around. You won't have access to the trail otherwise. The guide charges are 200 for a group and 100rs per person entry. I suggest you go here during sunrise or sunset for the best views of Mehrangarh along with Jaswant Thada. Other trails can be explored by your own and should take you an hour

Fantastic natural park with great interpretation material and signages. Must see for jodhpur visit. Very incredible flora fauna biodiversity. They give a good trails map to follow . Carry your water bottle and sun shades and sun lotion for the non early morning trips . Early morning or later evening is nicer to go. Toilets facilities are there at the entrance. Needless to say and just to mention, it's not a wheelchair friendly environment due to the hard rocky terrain. Ticket was 100 RS per person (2023) .

A place of peace and calm away from the craziness of the old town. Maintained very well. I didn't find a single piece of plastic in my walk there. Not easy to find a place like this in India. The best kept secret is a guided walk by naturalist Harsh. His knowledge was commendable and certainly the highlight of the Rajasthan trip. If you love nature this is the place to be.

Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park located near the Mehrangarh Fort contains distinctive volcanic rock and sandstone formations. Here you can witness the attempt of architectural and ecological restoration. The park was established in 2006 and public access was granted in February 2011. It houses Visitors Centre, a plant nursery and a small cafe. Since, I visited with family (having a 6 years kid) the ticket seller advised as to choose Yellow trails among the available four trails (yellow, green, red, and blue trails). The trails of around 1km long were well-marked with colored arrows and perfect for hiking and learning about the desert‘s characteristics and geology which may take around 4-5 hours to cover the entire area. The ticket seller was very facilitative who explained us all the different sections and trails providing a useful map. The Blue trail can not be accessed without guide and hence requires to contact them one day before your visit. The elephant passages were quite beautiful. It showcases incredible flora fauna biodiversity. It is a museum of plants in the rocky deserts of Marwar. A little pond was also picturesque where you can feel relaxed. I found it as the most under rated place in Jodhpur but I recommend all the travelers to add this place to your itinerary. Precautions: 1. Visit early in the morning. In summer: around 7AM and in winter: around 8-9AM. 2. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes 3. Carry water bottle & some snacks 4. Use sunscreen cream/lotion for the non early morning trips. Guide fee: Rs. 200 for a group Entry fee: Rs. 100 per person

This park is stunning, an oasis of peace within a desert landscape, complemented by a lovely view of the fort. The place is also very clean and there is no crowd. We also paid an extra for a guide to do the blue trail as it boasts a nice view of the cenotaphs

Nice walking trial where you can experience the desert life. There are different coloured trials. It is impossible to cover the entire park as it is very huge. Try not to go in the afternoon as it will be very hot. Should not experiment inside the park as there is a chance of you getting lost. So follow the path & carry water with you.

Such an amazing nature park. I don't understand why it's not on the itinerary of every visitor to Jodhpur, as you can easily combine a visit to the park with visiting the fort and the royal cenotaphs at Jaswant Thada. The trails are beautifully signposted and the information boards in English and Hindi are really well researched and genuinely interesting. There is also a small exhibition about various natural history topics at the visitor centre, again I was so pleasantly surprised by how interesting it was. Even if you have no interest in learning about nature and rocks, it's worth visiting just for the picturesque views of the fort and the tranquility.

Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park: An Amazing Trek Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park is a unique and beautiful place to visit in Jodhpur, India. It is a large park that has been created from a barren wasteland, and now features a variety of plants, animals, and geological formations. The park is also home to a number of historical ruins, including the walls of the Mehrangarh Fort. One of the best ways to experience Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park is to take a trek through the park. There are four different trails to choose from, ranging in difficulty from easy to moderate. The trails wind through the park's rocky landscape, offering stunning views of the Mehrangarh Fort and the surrounding city. In addition to the amazing views, the trek through Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park is also a great way to learn about the park's unique flora and fauna. The park is home to a variety of desert plants, including succulents, cacti, and thorn bushes. The park also attracts a variety of birdlife, including eagles, hawks, and owls. Here is an amazing review about the trek from a TripAdvisor user: "I highly recommend this as a guided trip early in the morning. The views of the fort from the trails are majestic. The trek is easy-medium rating and the flaura and fauna is good and the different types of rocks. It's a must visit place not only for tourists but especially for residents of Jodhpur." If you are looking for a unique and memorable experience in Jodhpur, I highly recommend taking a trek through Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park. It is a great way to see the city from a different perspective, learn about the local flora and fauna, and enjoy the stunning scenery.

It is decent place. We can see Mehrangarh fort from here. Ropeway people nearby try here. 2-3 ways to explore the rock park. Various types of stone placed here nothing fascinating. It takes 1 hour to roam here. If you have extra time in hand visit here else don't waste time. Ticket is costly.

Jaswant Thada, also known as Maharaja Jaswant Singh II memorial, is an elaborately carved white marble funerary monument built in 1899 to honor the last ruler of Jodhpur. The site today serves as a cremation ground for the royal Rajput families of Marwar.
One of the best historic place to visit in Jodhpur. Only drop back is that govt has removed all the information planks so you to hire a guide. Also there is a small canteen for refreshment. Entry ticket is 30 rupees for Indian tourist.

Jaswant Thada was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh ll and serves as the cremation ground for the royal Rajput family of Marwar. It is known as the Taj Mahal of Jodhpur as it is also made up of white marble. It is near Meherangarh Fort and is a silent and peaceful place.

As compared to other cities in Rajasthan, Jodhpur has nothing to offer except Meherangarh Fort and Jaswant thada. This is only place after Meherangarh fort that we enjoyed in blue city Jodhpur. Beautiful architecture with white stone. Also called Taj Mahal of Rajasthan due to little similarities. You can visit the place same day when you are covering Meherangarh. Walking distance from fort. Very well maintained and peaceful place. Has very nice history. Check our YouTube channel for detail information.

Serene beautiful place must visit when in Jodhpur. Guide needed to know the complete information to enjoy the serenity and importance of the place. Called the Taj Mahal of Jodhpur for 2 reasons, one made of same marble as the original Taj of Agra and built by the queen's in memory of the King after his death!! Just as the King built the original Taj Mahal in memory of the queen. Beautiful scenic view of the whole city..the Blue city Jodhpur. Very close to the Mehrangarh Fort. A artificial pond outside makes the place beautiful and enchanting. The architectural marvel has photos of all the ruler kings inside it. Ticket prices at INR 40 per person and guide charges INR 200.

Local people called as mini Taj Mahal of Rajasthan. The Jaswant Thada is a cenotaph located in Jodhpur, in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, and serves as the cremation ground for the royal Rajput family of Marwar The cenotaph is built out of intricately carved sheets of Makrana marble. These sheets are extremely thin and polished so that they emit a warm glow when illuminated by the Sun. The cenotaph's grounds feature carved gazebos, a tiered garden, and a small lake. There are three other cenotaphs in the grounds. The cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswant Singh displays portraits of the rulers and Maharajas of Jodhpur. Jaswant Thada's entry fee is INR 30 for Indians and INR 50 for foreigners. If you want to take a guide along with you, you need to pay an additional INR 100 as guide fee for upto 4 members. For more than 4 people, the guide charges will vary accordingly. The Jaswant Thada is an architectural marvel with intricate carvings. Famed as one of the most beautiful white marble cenotaphs, it was built in 1899 by Maharaja Sardar Singh in commemoration of his father Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. This white marble wonder of Rajasthan is often called the Taj Mahal of Marwar. Jaswant Thada is a perfect example of architectural brilliance. The architecture is made of white marbles which are so fine that the outer surface of the whole building emits a warm glow during sunlight. Currently it exhibits a variety of paintings and portraits of Jodhpur rulers.

It is located just below the Mehrangarh Fort. It is a memorial created for the rajas and ranis. During those times, they were cremated there and made chatris for each of them. The place is developed with the name Rao Jodha Rock Park which has a little lake and ducks inside. The place is very calm and soothing with cool breeze. Main thing i liked was the place was clean and well maintained respecting the importance of that place.

A nice peaceful tourist attraction. Located along side Mehrangarh fort, it gets closed by 5 PM, a white marble structure looks beautiful during sunset as the light reflects on the surface. This is a more of a memorial of the royal dynasty. One one side is the hall which has paintings of all the rulers of the dynasty which is a marble structure. Due to the height, one can also enjoy the sight of the blue City from here. On the other side is the cremation ground for the royal members.

Indique Restaurant & Bar is a Jodhpur restaurant famous for its spectacular views of the Mehrangarh Fort. The restaurant offers a rajasthani menu, as well as beautiful candlelit surroundings.
The restaurant is in an historical building, the architecture and the design is superb. The chef is highly knowledgeable and quilified, helping me to choose and customize the thali set, making it vegan. The music and the atmosphere is elegant and romantic. The view from the terrace is stunning with a whole view of the clock tower, the city and the fort. The list of wines is decent with a list of local wines and Australian ones. The staff is attentive. The food is delicious and the best I had in India in almost 2 months in the country. The price is high, although justified.

This is one of the best restaurants for food while in Jodhpur. Indique Restaurant is located inside Pal Haveli, near to Ghanta Ghar (clock tower). We had been to this place for lunch with family. The restaurant is well maintained and has good interiors. The roof top offers a good view of the Mehrangarh Fort. However the AC restaurant faces towards Gulab Sagar Lake and hence one cannot see the fort while dining inside (during day time). The food quality and quantity are quite satisfactory. The taste is awesome. Each dish we tried tickled our taste buds that we craved for more. One invincible was that the lift was not working and we had to climb old styled steep stairs to the second floor. Overall, the place is worth a visit for the food and service.

No car parking space, really had to struggle for parking. Non working lifts, had to climb all the way up to terrace to reach the restaurant. To use the loo, you’d have to step down one floor. They should’ve built a washroom near the restaurant itself. Menu is limited and if you were to order, the wait staff would tell you that what’s in the menu is in the menu , I can’t help you much with customisations. The price is way too much for the overall experience. Would not recommend anyone to go here.

A beautiful restaurant in the heart of Jodhpur. We went there for dinner along with my parents and had a good time. The view of Meharangadh fort from the rooftop dining area was spectacular. Food was outstanding and so were the staff. When we mentioned that my parents were particularly hungry after a full day's walk, they wasted no time in sending complimentary soups so as to not keep them waiting for the items that we ordered. That was a sweet gesture. The only thing that dented our experience slightly was the occasional smell of urine from the street. This was not the restaurant's fault at all. I felt that Jodhpur was a major let down by the local government when it came to sanitation despite being home to some of the most magnificent monuments in India.

Excellently curated haveli with exquisite architecture, embellished with all the age-old trinkets. Food is just heavenly, and that too, enjoyed in the beautiful backdrop of the Mehrangarh Fort. I tried their pasta, lal mass and roti for main course. Every dish was spot-on savoury. Their cheesecake and brownie-icecream were the perfect dessert too.

Gourmet lunch with excellent service. N26.29641, E73.024025 This candle-lit rooftop restaurant in the Pal Haveli hotel is the perfect place for a romantic dinner, with stunning views of the fort, clock tower and Umaid Bhawan from the upper rooftop platform. The lower roof platform and air-conditioned room offer good views of the city. The food includes traditional tandoori, biryanis and north Indian curries. In November 2022, we ordered lunch in the air-conditioned room as sitting in the midday sun was not an option. We went for the maze dish with hummus, baba ghanoush, tzatziki, falafel, marinated olives, roasted nuts and pita for ₹655, the PAL club sandwich made to the chef's recipe with multigrain or regular bread ₹575 and the cheese & tomato sandwich with salad and fries ₹545. A bottle of Perrier went well with it. This was a gourmet lunch, a word we don't often use in India. The service was above expectations, also unusual for India. Indique offers a gourmet lunch with excellent service. Highly recommended.

Good food, great service and fantastic views makes this rooftop restaurant as must visit in Jodhpur. Reservations are recommended especially on weekends and holidays. They have two booking slots for dinner - 7 and 9pm. We visited during the Christmas-New year week, so it was a bit chilly in the evening. But we got to see the lit up walls of the fort on one end, the clock tower on another end, and the gulab Sagar pond on one side. The food is very well prepared. We especially enjoyed the tandoori aloo 👌 The staff are polite and helpful. Overall, this restaurant was a high point of our Rajasthan trip from namma Bengaluru in 2022

Most likely Jodhpurs best restaurant. Not cheap but excellent service. Couple of notes, I would definitely recommend making a booking as it's always busy. Wine is sold by the bottle and not by the glass, so make sure you know exactly what you have asked for. Overall a fabulous restaurant and definitely worth going to.

Amazing views and good service. Very very overpriced. Also, I am pretty sure they give commissions to Auto drivers to bring you here. Edit- not sure what the business means by their reply but what I will reiterate is that it is overpriced and definitely not value for money for the food that is on offer. They charge you just for the view.

The restaurant is placed on the top floor of Pal Haveli in the old Jodhpur Area Pal Haveli is a beautiful hotel with a classy, old age vibe The Indique restaurant, however, did not live up to our expectations for the following reasons - - Alcohol was available on the menu, but we were not allowed to order (Other guests, who were of foreign origin were allowed) - Food was not good / We ordered Thai Curry, Hummus Pita Salad alongwith and Americano Coffee - We did not like the taste, and hummus felt stale - While the property is good, the ambiance felt weird because of overcrowding by the staff - We were told that certain seats were not available due to previous reservation, while they remained unoccupied the entire night (We were there till after 11:00 pm)

Indique has a varied menu with a mix of international and Indian cuisine. Indique is beautifully situated with views from the rooftop restaurant and bar towards both the Clock Tower market and the fort. It is spotlessly clean, intimately lit and very welcoming. The bar has a good selection of drinks, including cocktails and wine. My wife wanted a break from Indian cuisine and chose the red snapper which was wonderfully presented and cooked well. My paneer lababdar was the best food I’d tasted in my first week in india. The service was good but not great. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Enjoy.

I felt "On The Rocks" is an overhyped restaurant in Jodhpur. Not sure about their veg items. However, it is not at all recommended for non veg food. Starter was average. But the main course items (Lal Mas and Chicken Biryani) tasted totally insipid. You may forget the original taste of Biryani after trying the same from this restaurant. Prices are too high in view of the food quality. Outdoor ambience was chaotic. Some Drunken people was doing chit chat like no one else was there in the restaurant. Outdoor sitting arrangement was nice. You may visit with your family and friends on a non busy day.

Beautiful entryway, nice food but Extremely slow service. Good if you want to spend leisurely time, totally avoidable if you are in a hurry. The first table where we were seated, had a big tree and a few Big black Ants started crawling on the table and on us ! then we changed the table, one of the waiters tried to lie about that space will be " rearranged " ( whatever that means) but we were firm. But the ambience was good otherwise.

The restaurant has a great ambience with both In-dinning and Open Garden options. The waiting time is a bit long however the staff is proactive in serving food. We ordered a Mojito, Laal Maas, Rice & Dal. The Mojito was really bad, Laal Maas was very average having the mutton very tender & juicy but the gravy was pathetic, and the Rice & Dal was good in taste. The quantity of the food was good enough to serve two in one item The cost doesn't justify the taste of the food, so I wouldn't recommend this place.

The service is very prompt and does not leave you unattended for even once!! The hotel is known for its adorned stone walls and large cane chairs in a green courtyard. This makes it an excellent Instagram-worthy spot for tourists to visit. Along with this, they also have a street parking lot which is free for visitors.
Didn't stay here, as we had already booked a place. But the restaurant ambiance and food was really good. Food tasted like home food with really fresh and authentic taste. Everything we ordered was simply great. Do come here for dinner/breakfast. One small recommendation would be to please add cocktails in the menu. Would love to have a drink in this ambiance, also great music.

This was a pleasant place to stay. The staff was friendly and we had several enjoyable conversations with them. The restaurant was also a plus and had a great ambiance with the live music. The room was spacious and comfortable- our group enjoyed the view in the mornings from the rooftop. It is located close to various attractions and restaurants. Definitely recommend.

I had to battle it out with myself if this hotel deserved a 2 star just out of sympathy but sadly it doesn’t. It was a flat out 1 star experience!! First of all, do not get SCAMMED by the first picture they have added on Google. For someone who has little to no experience, it might seem like that is the Haveli you will stay in. The picture is actually a close up view of Mehrangad Fort and has nothing to do with this hotel. It’s a CLICKBAIT. Secondly, go with the mindset of going in a super low budget lodge or a street hotel ( although the pricing can match a 4 star hotel). The concept of front desk is non-existent. They do not even have a landline to call someone. You have to take the number of the helper and call his cellphone to ask for any service or assistance. Its the last hotel you should pick if you have a family with older people as they have steep stairs that are constantly wet and slippery and there is no elevator. Lastly, if you are unfortunate enough to get the top floor room (112) they have newly constructed, be prepared to accept that you will not receive a wifi connection no matter how they play it. There is also a consistent smell from the sewer that flows into the bathroom and then to the bedroom. It almost smells like GUTTER and when it gets into your nose you cannot let it pass. The reason given to us was that it’s a normal thing for a new hotel and we can open the windows ( thus inviting the mosquitos in). Also if you are thinking they have a nice bathtub note that the bathtub is too narrow to fit anyone who is not slim. Also good luck if you need to use bathtub with hot water as the water heater they have provided is basically meant for a small home and it will probably run out of its capacity well before you even fill 25% of the tub. The front desk or the counter guy will talk to you as if he is doing a favor to you by offering the upstairs room. The concept was good but the stay itself was below par and forgettable for me.

I just used their restaurant and the service was too slow. I have to wait for 45 mins plus to get two veg sandwiches on my table in evening when the restaurant was less than 50% capacity. When I asked them that I m going, they brought it in 5 min, half cooked, and have to return it to get it properly cooked... They were just busy in attending foreigner customers.. Food didn't tasted good as per the price charged for 870/- plus 10%service charge for sandwiches, 2 teas and one cappuccino... Not worth

I really enjoyed the food but, there was no card payment option at this place. I was told that it was broken down or not functioning. I am usually not sceptical about places for not having card payment option. It was shady just the way the whole thing was approached. I made a payment using online transfer and I know the funds were deposited( I use it regularly to transfer money internationally , bank payments, etc) but was informed it didn’t appear in their system. I got the vibe that I was persuaded to do a double transaction. I recommend you to call to verify whether card payment is available or just withdraw RS 10000 carry in your pocket and walk to every restaurant you want to go to. After all it is 200$ only. FYI some reviewers have commented about the waiters throwing the menu at your face which is true. I also feel they are worked up and possibly doing a lot of work for less.

This property is located right at the heart of the old city, just 5 mins walk from Ghanta Ghar and the Main Bazaar. It's also within walkable distance from Mehrangarh Fort. The Rooms were big and clean. And well maintained as this was a heritage property converted into a hotel. However, we were disappointed when we found out that the balcony so highlighted in the Room Description (Junior Suite with Balcony) was nothing but an inner passage between two rooms with no views whatsoever. The TV did not work, since the subscription expired. Even though repeated queries were done, they did not / could not make that work. It was our bad luck that the upper floors were under construction, and we couldn't even reach the terrace in the evening to enjoy the mesmerizing views of the Fort. Probably, this is why, they suggested we visit other restaurants for dinner. A lot of good Rooftop Cafes around to choose from. In overall, this was a waste of money for us (~5k per night), as we didn't enjoy anything at this property, apart from spending the night.

I stayed here one night. Spacious room, spacious bathroom, plenty of tables to set things down, balcony with partial fort view. Currently the hotel is building the rooms out. It appeared 3 or so rooms are operational. 1 had a large soaking bathtub. There was construction noise during the day but it wasn’t too intrusive. The important part for me was quiet at night, and you will definitely get this right now in low season, low capacity. I do not factor the inconvenience of honking from the street or ants or low water pressure as these are probably at every hotel in the area, luxury ones too. Staff was extremely accommodating.

Nice ambience. The staff ranged from friendly loquacious to unfriendly taciturn. Very inflexible when it came to the food and, in terms of price, rather the worst than the „best cashew curry in town“. The food we ordered was unseasoned very boring and very overpriced - perhaps we were just unlucky. 🤷‍♂️

Very nice place to enjoy local music in a peaceful and typical atmosphere. The people are very friendly. Do not hesitate to practice your French with the owner, who will be more than happy to give you proper recommendations for your stay and share his passion of Michel Delpeche ! The dinner was excellent, probably the best and most diverse veg food we had so far !

To be honest, I haven't visited the place! The 5 star review is not a mistake though. We had a confirmed booking, which unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. They immediately refunded the advance paid ! This shows the empathy of this organisation towards its customers. Will be visiting here soon, and then writing about it again.

Lovely place. Super chill vibes, great food. Also seem to understand vegan requests and altered dishes to our needs without a fuss. Will be staying here next time we’re in town but definitely worth stopping in for food if you’re staying else where. Great roof top view too.

Highly recommend staying here. Great hospitality. They provided us with a parking space as well. Spacious room with a balcony. Quick service. They had also made arrangements for Rajasthani folk musical performance in the evening, which added to the charm of the Old City.

A amazing place with beautiful art, old furniture, the most obliging staff and definitely the best coffee I've had in four weeks in India. Also here you can get any information on the region and they offer all the services you might need for traveling.

Didn’t stay in the rooms but the restaurant, the food and service is absolutely amazing!! Came here 3 days in a row for the cashew curry which was one of the best dishes I’ve had in Jodhpur. Check them out!

We didn’t stay here but we ate at the restaurant almost every day we were in Jodhpur. The food is amazing and the service is great. Our server gave us good recommendations for things to do around the city. Definitely order the Kaju curry! It’s their speciality and it’s delicious.

(a) Overview : Came across this hidden gem while strolling through the bye lanes of the majestic blue city. The approach was not that great with tiny lanes having dirty drains flowing through them. (b) Ambience : Seemed nice at the entry, the lighting was dim. The seating caught my attention, with something somewhat similar to bamboo utilised in making the seats. There are four floors and there is seating inside as well as outside. We however, chose to sit outside and eat. The walls are rock solid, it was slightly difficult climbing up to the roof top. It was however worth the climb, we witnessed the beautifully lit up Mehrangarh fort from the rooftop which was a site to treasure. (c) Food and Service : Pondered over ordering a vegetarian penny pasta, which was served steaming hot. The portion was generous for two of us who are both running enthusiasts , we relished the Penny pasta which had the optimum amount of cheese in it unlike the one i had savoured at Jaisalmer a few days back which was cumbersome to eat. (d) Service : Prompt, polite, the waitress was courteous to our order and explained in brief what a penny pasta is like. The manager too was polite and welcoming to us. (e) Recommendations : Would recommend during a visit to Jodhpur. Reasonable, does not pinch a hole in the pocket. It’s ambience is lovely, the property is well looked after. A little contribution from our side to a bygone era. Compliments to the managerial team , chefs , waiters, housekeepers.

A major disappointment! The place has a nice ambience but the service and food quality aren’t up to the mark. We were travelling in a group. And our friends had also booked a room here while we got stuck in their other lodge called “The Blue House” owned by the same person. We thought only we got fleeced but no. Our friends too complained of not getting the room they paid for. The rooms were stinky and noisy. The water supply was too low and there was no staff to help. The owners are so greedy that no matter which property of theirs you book, you will be betrayed if you are an Indian. They treat foreigners like god and Indians like cattle. Please beware of this business, it’s operating under different names. And they will never give you a bill and force you to cancel online booking once you book it and they get your contact details. It’s all designed to save on taxes. Once you book directly, they will ask you to send an advance and never give you a bill. We asked for bill in both their lodges (Jhankar and Blue House) and they didn’t provide it.

Didn’t stay here but ate at the restaurant after a local recommended it. The cashew curry is to die for. They had live music which was amazing. The staff spoke great English and the service was quite fast. For Indian standards it’s a bit pricey.

We went to this restaurant on our last night in Rajasthan. We were just looking for a place to sit and have a nice meal ,but little did we know that we will bump into this amazing place. The ambience of this place is the first thing that holds your attention.A beautiful haveli turned into a restaurant. The food too is great . There was a group of 5 talented artists who just set the mood. But the cherry on the cake is the service provided by Vikram. He was attentive ,made sure we got what we needed.

Went to the restaurant for lunch, food is OK, a bit more expansive then the average, service wasnt good... I was having a hard tine to decide what I wanted, the guy had no patience to explain anything so I just picked up what was familiar. Also, they dont take card.

We stumbled over this great restaurant by walking by and had one of our best dinner meals in India. Try the Cashew Curry, a recommendation of the lovely owner: just delicious! The ambience is very traditional but stylish at the same and the Expresso was also great! And we were even lucky to have live music from a very talented local that played excellent versions of rock and pop ranging from Radiohead, over Queen to Adriano Celentano. Just a perfect evening!

Food and service were good but nothing exceptional. I was expecting something more as the restaurant features in the Lonely Planet and it has above average prices. Interior design is something special. Live music in the evening is a bit too loud.

Honestly I've been to better hotels with the same price. The room was decent, it's not as big as you might see in pictures if you're booking online. Room service was nice. The location is good enough so that's a plus point. Didn't order anything so not sure about the food. It is not a bad choice in that area. One thing that bothered me the most was the ringing telephone. I could hear so many of them from morning to evening. They are loud and that kinda bothered me.

I conducted my daughter's bday party in the Banquet Hall and it was such a success all thanks to the staff of Shri Ram Excellency, perfect planning and attention to detail by Mr. Om Meena and his team. The food was sooo delicious and customised according to our need. The service was impeccable. They also had a beautiful balloon decor and even accomodated last minute needs. Needles to say despite hosting the party, I enjoyed without a worry like a guest! Special thanks to the Chef, Keshav, Ramraj, Mukesh and all the Banquet Hall team! Definitely recommended!

Visited restaurant only. Location is good. It was hot inside, I had to request AC to be turned on. Food taste was ok. Came back with food poisoning after having their food/mocktails. Was down for a week due to Diarrhoea. Hope restaurant management takes care of basic hygiene. Another annoying experience was that I was asked to write a review in front of them at the restaurant itself. Not once but twice by two different staff members. It felt like they were forcing us to write a good review.

It's a very good hotel for staying purposes. One of the very good things from this hotel is that the airport is very near and including the railway station also very near so if you are coming from outside, only 15mint you will recah to airport or railway station. The service was also very good and the room was also nice. They have one restaurant that is quite expensive compared to other restaurants, so if you are coming for staying purple you can take from outside also and if you're like to take here, you can order, they are provide room service also. Overall very good experience.

My review of shri Ram Excellency. After staying in this hotel for 2 days with my family, I would say I had to be skeptical even when I didn't want to. - The problem I had with was safety : [some of the hotel staff members were giving uncomfortable stares, especially to the ladies in my family] - The wifi they provide is not secure : [data hack] - Shower had leakage problem in the rooms provided - They didn't bother themselves to do more inquiries on one of my missing item, which was a puma sweater. I highly doubt that I lost my sweater there, yet they denied that they didn't find it. Update: The review was read by one of the respective hotel executives, and he got in touch with me and asked me about the issue of my sweater that was lost in the hotel. After the conversation, they thoroughly looked for my sweater in the hotel and found it. They then sent the sweater via courier to my residence. Appreciate their effort in this regard.

I stayed in Shri Ram Excellency hotel with my family for 2 days, and it was okay. We booked 2 rooms. The room service and response to our queries and requirements were fine. The shower in one of the rooms we were provided to stay was leaking. Food and beverages were costly compared to the quality. The wifi connection they offer is not secure. I joined their wifi network, and I was watching a YouTube video that got connected to a smart television out of nowhere. It was not the smart television of my room. I didn't even watch television for once while I was there. I was quite suspicious after that incident, so I didn't use their wifi thereafter. Would rate 3/5 for the overall experience I had while I stayed in the hotel Shri Ram Excellency Update: After reading my review, one of the hotel staff members contacted me and apologized for the inconvenience I had to deal with. This made a difference. I acknowledge their effort to make a call and offer an apology from their end.

The hotel is Good; but their service is horrible. The staff at this restaurant don't value your time. We had waited for more than 45 mins just for their idly, dosa and coffee. Because of them all our travel plans got ruined. If you don't value our time, you don't deserve our time.

Decent place if you’re planning to stay for a short while during official The location of the hotel is perfect for guests to explore Jodhpur city. Mehrangarh fort is visible from the hotel itself on higher floors! work. The services are bit slow. They have a lot of activities planned in their banquet hall and leads to a lot of chaos for the other guests. You’ll have to keep a buffer of 45 min before check out as their billing takes time. Overall a decent place to consider.

LOVE this place! Amazing food, so fresh, hearty, tasty and big portions. They even made me a gluten free millet chapati! Which is so rare for Northern India. Incredible views of the fort. Beautifully furnished. Great atmosphere. Wonderful staff. We were looked after by Ganpat and Kamal, they were so friendly and accommodating, with perfect English. They put incense out for us and provided hospitality like we get in the UK, which is hard to find in India. We came back twice in 2 days! Highly recommend.

I have visited blue Bird restaurant yesterday and I must say the experience was delightful. The food was truly awesome, with a diverse menu that satisfied my taste buds. What stole the show, though, was the breathtaking view of Mehrangarh Fort from the restaurant. The combination of great food and a fabulous backdrop made it a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend for both food enthusiasts and those seeking a picturesque setting.

The vibe of this place is just breathtaking. The moment you enter the restaurant you will get to see the mesmerizing view of the Mehrangarh Fort. Cheery on the cake is delicious food of this place, I tried Rajasthani chicken, laal maans and oh my God the taste was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place because of the delicious food and hygiene. Kamal Bhati the owner of this restaurant would do anything to make you feel at home, I requested him if he can provide an item which is not in the menu and to my shock he arrange that and didn't even charge me a single penny of that food item.
