A very strange reservoir in the mountains. I don’t recommend going there in the spring. There is little water. A dry clay desert forms hundreds of meters along the coast. The coastline is very dirty. Wet clay. The lake is suitable for swimming in the middle of summer, when the snow begins to melt in the mountains. Be careful the water's edge. Podhrd to the water found only on the territory of the Pyramid hotel. Entrance $1.

It was a super cold day in winter's with heavy snowfall..the entire area surrounding the lake was covered by very thik layer of snow..amid this thik snow the view of prestine blue water of the lake was a sight to watch and walking on such thick layer of snow with mudy loose soil a life time experience..

An amazing view if you happen to have an additional day in Tashkent to kill. Can be done together with the mountain on the same trip especially during winter (ski/snow sports resort). The trip out of city can be long and the roads can be difficult. Would recommend if you have a local guide

The Minor Mosque, also known as the white mosque due to its traditional marble features, is a stunning modern interpretation of Islamic architecture in Uzbekistan. Its towering minarets and turquoise dome are striking against the clear sky. With a circular prayer hall that can accommodate over 2400 people, it is one of the most beautiful mosques in the country.
A beautiful white mosque with turquoise blue dome. The area is neatly kept and quite. A stream is flowing next to the area very calmly.

Very beautiful Masjid. Located in the heart of the city. But on Friday need to go to soon in order find place. There are good options nearby for lunch as well like KFC and some other fast food chains.

One of the most elequent and beautiful mosque, the Minor Mosque is a new mosque in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan. It is located on the bank of Anhor canal, whose embankment has undergone major improvements in recent months in terms of its appearance. The blue dome reflects a wonderful sight to behold and truely captivates the beauty.

Fell in love with this mosque. Great architecture work, awesome design. The colour and the embroideries are fantastic. The inside and the outside of the mosque are both magnificent. The room for wudhu is also very clean and tidy. May such places increase in numbers in our country.

The mosque is built in 2014, the interior and exterior design so spectacular! The most intention of decorating the interior of the mosque is to create of feeling remembering Allah SWT. One of major tourist attractions in Tashkent. The mosque has a unique design and influential piece of Islamic architecture. Alhamdulillah, my son and I had a chance to perform Fajr prayer here. Alhamdulillah, mashaAlllah, tabarakAllah..

Minor Mosque in Tashkent is a stunning embodiment of modern Islamic architecture, a true jewel in Central Asia. Its majestic presence is marked by traditional marble, towering minarets, and a striking turquoise dome. Inside, the mosque provides a serene and simple retreat, perfect for contemplation and prayer. I had the blessing to observe Fajr prayer here, an experience that highlighted the mosque's tranquil ambiance and spiritual depth. The integration of technology with tradition is evident in the multi-lingual Mushafs featuring QR codes for online Quran recitation, reflecting the mosque's commitment to accessibility and modern relevance. Its cleanliness, organization, and the innovative approach to religious texts make it not just a place of worship, but a symbol of Uzbekistan's rich history and its role as a cultural crossroad.

I think this is the most beautiful mosque of national construction in Uzbekistan. The white color on the outside of the mosque looks very amazing. The climate in the room is very good. It is always cool in summer and warm in winter.

Generally when you visit uzbekistan you will find all blue architecture but this one is bit different ,it’s white.Visitors can enjoy the elaborate architecture and colorful tilework and learn more about the history of Tashkent through its many inscriptions. The Minor Mosque is definitely worth a visit when in Tashkent!

The Minor Mosque, despite its name, is anything but Minor (it is named after a region called Minor). As Uzbekistan’s biggest mosque, it is the centre of worship and prayer. We arrived by train at 7am in the morning, and it was perfect timing for an early visit, and indeed we found peace and quiet there. Remember to dress and act respectfully.

It's a new Mosque in the heart of Tashkent city which is about 10 year old only. It's built with white marble and looks majestic. Though the architecture is similar to the old Mosques in Uzbekistan, the material used is entirely different. Must visit place if one is in Taskent.

One of the most visited touristy places in Tashkent. Nearest metro station is Bodomzor and not Minor. It is about 10-15 minutes walking from Bodomzor and metro ticket would cost 2,000 som per person. Small and cute museum you can explore for less than 1 hour. Great place to discover all kind of arts from different regions of Uzbekistan.

Museum of Applied Arts is one of the major tourist attractions in Tashkent. It is a small yet interesting museum with historical applied artworks. The interior specially the walls are skilfully painted with eye catching views. There is a gift shop as well at the back with amazing handcrafted clothes and many interesting souveniers. Highly recommended for all the tourists visiting Tashkent.
Muhammad Waleed Sadiq — Google review
Loved this small museum. Wonderful selection of textiles, miniature painting, jewellery, ceramics, wood carving and metal work. Also carpets. The gift shop is vastly overpriced. There is a tiny cafe with a few options. Lovely walk from the metro through an old part of Tashkent with low buildings and trees.

State Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan is an art museum located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, founded in 1937 as a temporary exhibition for handicrafts. The museum showcases over 4,000 exhibits on decorative art in Uzbekistan, including wood carving, ceramics, embossing, embroidery, and samples of mass production in local industry. It’s a must visit place for all the arts & crafts lovers. There are some unique showpieces which are very old suzanis, and seeing them lined up next to each other makes it very for interesting experience.
WaSalicious Food & Travel — Google review
The museum is in an unassuming building and cost 25k Soms each to go in. We actually spent a couple of hours inside looking at the exhibitions on silk making, musical instruments, jewelry, embroidery and other similar crafts. Every exhibit had an English description which was really useful. It was interesting to see the transition, maybe 50 years ago, from hand woven and embroidered items to machine made and also the change from natural to artificial dyes. Once we'd finished we sat in the courtyard cafe and had a coffee and Deb bought a couple of bits in the little shop.
Marcus Hurley — Google review
Beautiful museum but only evident on the inside. The place also hard to locate as road signage not prominent. A lot of details confronting us when we stepped in. There are also a lot of exhibits displayed with more respect. It would b easier to take Yandex taxi to get there.
chee hean Yeong — Google review
Ticket foreigners - 25000 Lots of interesting items throughout the museum. Most of them are made with in the last 50 years. If you're looking for older artifacts this is probably not your place. We enjoyed seeing the national costumes and lots of the weaving work. You can scan the free Wi-Fi code on the wall to get connected. You can also scan the codes by the displays to learn more about them but we couldn't get it to work. The museum website came up but the pictures wouldn't show and no audio played. Worth an hour or two visit and it's in a pleasant neighborhood for a walk or a coffee nearby.

It's just an amazing place. You will learn much about the history of Uzbek applied art by getting an incredible buzz from the works themselves. There are no outrageous attractions here, just mesmerizing architecture and a cool store with national paraphernalia inside.

They really need to change the name of this place. I was put off a little bit with the industrial sound, but it's really a remarkable museum. On the smaller side, but it had plenty of examples of uzbeki arts and crafts that were lovely as they were fascinating.

National Food is a popular restaurant in Tashkent that serves traditional Uzbek food. It's chaotic and always busy, but its worth the effort for cheap Uzbek food.
Authentic uzbek food can be found there. The shop sign only has its uzbek name and not National food, it was a bit hard to plot the maps to get to this place. Food served is delicious, lots of lamb based dishes. There is also horse salad for the adventurous.
Donovan Leong — Google review
Unpleasant experience. It seems like a traditional market cheap restaurant, but if you are a foreigner watch out, they are going to charge you quite higher prices than they charge to locals. Ask to know the price of the food before you order! Concerning the food: ok they do not speak English, but they didn't show any interest to propose or show different dishes. The waitress proposed the soup like it was the only dish they had in the night, but on the other tables they serve different dishes. The meat in the soup is of unknown origin! From the small bones I found, I suppose it was from small birds like sparrows. Also it was untasteful and heavy to the stomach. The bread was good.

kind of an adventure, but a funny one: first of all, no ones speaks english. Second we askde fir a menu, but they didnt understand. So, we went outside to the preparation area and by imitating horse, cow and sheep sounds we could at least figure out, what kind of meat it was. We had a lot of fun with the waitress. In the end we ordered 2 times horse: BESHBARMAK noodle dough in broth topped with horse sausage - very salty, NARYN cold cut mini noodles mixed with horse - very yummy, mutton Soup- very intense, HALEEM wheat mixed with meat- looks like brown oatsmeals- slimy but very tasty. mixed something- potatoes, mutton, and shishkebap and finally a kind of tzatziki. We payed 240.000, it was very tasty, unusual, funny. So, if you go there, make sure, you know all the animal sounds or download an offline translator ;-)

Authentic Uzbek cuisine. Mostly meat based with only a few veggie salad options. The meat is certainly good quality and well flavoured. The outdoor seating area is great for people watching. Some of the staff members speak good English. No menu but can order by the food counter which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Great hospitality, be advised that during Ramadan the evenings get busy - so book ahead. Some menu items might not be available due to the high demand.

We visited Afsona twice to eat while we were in Tashkent. The first time the service & food were excellent, we had Samsa, bread, Shashlik, Afsona meat plus other dishes, which were all delicious. The waitress was really helpful, made suggestions & did her best to help us enjoy the best of Uzbek food. This was at lunchtime. The second time we visited the waitress seemed disinterested. The food was still really good but after our salads, we waited almost an hour for any sign of our further courses. The waitress was chatting away to her colleagues. She then disappeared off to a car parked outside during our wait & did not come to see why we had not received our next dishes at all. Completely disinterested. In the end, we asked for our main dishes to go as it was clear they had been forgotten. I had to get up, walk into the restaurant & ask what was going on with our main dishes. She said it would take 10 minutes, they then promptly arrived. So clearly, they had been forgotten about. It was such a shame as the food was really good. Great first visit, very poor second visit.

Great day to eat outside in Tashkent and Afsona is the perfect place for it. The outside seating is pleasant and there's not a lot of traffic to annoy you. We enjoyed everything we ordered. I tried norin for the first time and it was delicious and kind of light. So good. Great staff that made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Very reasonable prices for a place this nice.

Good food, excellent service. One of the few places where staff can understand English. The lamb shank was well cooked. The palwan steak was a little bit kebab-ish. The meat and potato samsa were goid as well but the winner was the tomato sauce that came with it. We ordered icecream and got complimentary scoops of two other flavours. All three, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla were good. Overall very good lunch experience on our last day here in Uzbekistan.

Amazing food, great music in the background and welcoming staff. I don't get why so many bad reviews. We went there twice and had delicious modern Uzbek food. Service was also great. Heads up for our waiter both times (don't remember the name but dark haired guy, Russian I think)

Lovely and modern restaurant in Tashkent. The food is super tasty and well presented. It’s has a different atmosphere than the more traditional restaurants you can find but still with authentic Uzbek food.

I like the design of the restaurant. Food was good but it took a really long time between the courses, they had too many large groups to serve. I didn't like that nobody took care of the used dishes, I got quite a large pile at the end of the courses and had no space left.
Kuchenbecker Melanie — Google review
We came here on a recommendation from friends who had visited the year before. The menu offers all the Uzbek classics "refined for tourists, with less fat and oil." We tried about seven dishes, all of them delicious. A few options available for vegetarians. Our server Saddam was lovely, helpful and informed. Would go back and recommend to others.
Amy Brewer — Google review
It was okay. We've been traveling all around Uzbekistan for a month and today is our last day here. Last night we wanted one last Uzbek meal. I searched for a nice Uzbek restaurant. Mostly we've been eating at small side of the road type places and way off the beaten path places The reviews for this place were all really good. I just wasn't really that impressed. The tomatoes were bland while I've been raving about how UZ has the best tomatoes in the world for the past month. We didn't order lamb chops, but here you see we were served them and they were served well done, or in other words, ruined and we couldn't get what we had really ordered because the restaurant was closing early due to quarantine restrictions.. The norin, and the laghman were good, the plov was dry. And this one last thing didn't actually bother me at all I'm only throwing it in because I know it's important to some people: I've been living outside the US for over 7 years and no one around me speaking my language has just become part of my everyday reality but the reviews said the servers spoke English and were very helpful, in case that's important to you, that was not the case for us. Our server knew the menu in English but that was it. He didn't *speak* English and when we tried to ask him questions he was lost, so don't expect an English speaking server, but if you're traveling outside your country and still expecting people to speak to you in your language you're being a jerk, we're all in it for the experience, right?? You'll be okay! Go! Explore! Don't worry if someone can't understand you. They're nervous too.

We chose this place based on TripAdvisor reviews. We loved it so much, we are there twice! Both times we sat outside. The restaurant is located off the street so there is no spectacular view but it is cozy enough. It looks nice inside. The food was amazing! We had at least 8-9 different dishes and all of them were outstanding! The wine was very good and there is a decent selection of them. The menu is in English as well. Our waiter spoke very good English and made it very easy to answer our questions. The only minus I would say it’s how they phrase the tip. We were told by our waiter the service charge is for the kitchen only, which I find a bit insulting and cheeky, that we were asked to pay service charge and tip on top of it! Service charge is for the service at all stages of the meal, including waiters.

I heard this is a quite highly recommended restaurant in Tashkent. I thought it would be nice to visit but I didn't make any reservation and so happened I walked past on the last night so decided to try my luck. Arrived at dinnertime and the place was crowded. Asked for a table and was rejected by the staff saying its full for the night. I was disappointed but then I decided to stand at the entrance for a while and see if luck would be on my side. True enough, a couple left after 10 minutes and I got the table. Came to see if there was anything to try for Uzbek food that was in my list. Saw the Mashkurda and Samsa Parmuda which looks interesting and decided to order. The soup was good and I liked the Samsa a lot as well, though the size was a bit small for me to feel satisfied. Saw the chak-chak under dessert and it sounds playful and mysterious and wanted to give it a try without knowing what it was. Turns out its a deep fried snack with honey. It was good but it tasted familiar as it resembles something we have in Asian dessert like the sachima. Food was good overall but price was a little expensive. Service of the staff was average, would be good if they were more attentive. Raised my hand a couple of times they were standing in front of me but didn't see it. Those who saw me would signal they come back to me after serving food to another table but then was forgotten after. Nevertheless its a good experience to dine here and would recommend it if you are in Tashkent.

I was brought my side order of hard rice 15min before the rest of my food. 10min before even water arrived. And when I said I’d like to get my side with my main I was just told that “that is not how it works”, followed by the waiter arguing with me about how I cannot expect to receive my side order of rice with the rest of my food. I hadn’t even received my water at this time. It wasn’t just the service though it was also the rice that was hard, tasted a couple days old and stale. The plov and manty were bland. The tomato salad was too oily. And the ice cream assortment was no assortment whatsoever just one small ball of either “cream” or chocolate.
Sarah Athursen — Google review
This restaurant was one that some of our group had been to the day before we arrived and was recommended by them. It was about 10 minutes walk from the hotel and the service was a different level to almost every other place we'd visited in Tashkent - excellent English and engaging staff/ The menu had plenty of choices and proper English descriptions rather than just a couple of words or something poorly translated from Russian. There were loads of options I could have chosen but I settled on chicken with mixed veg and roast potatoes. This was beautifully presented and a decent portion size and the veg was actually properly cooked and still crunchy, delicious! As we were chatting together and not in a rush I opted for strudel as a dessert, good choice as it was superb. Certainly a good choice of restaurant with food as nice as Basilic but better service and less than half the price.

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the worst restaurant I’ve been to during my stay in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Small and overpriced meals, with medium quality which becomes clearer as you try more restaurants in these locations. We were completely in love with the decorations and the ambience until we saw our food!!! They also billed us for a few options that we didn’t order, which we refused to pay for, and accepted $ at a rate lower than the actual. Do not recommend at all despite the rating. It was a very disappointing experience.
Niousha Sharifi — Google review
Tourists are in danger. The restaurant is overpriced. They give a special menu for tourists. The food tastes 3 times more expensive than what should be paid. They also push a 20% service charge. The place is constantly trying to push things in the order in order to inflate and not approach!!

Please don’t listen those who left 1 or 2 starts reviews. Yes might be a bit pricey for locals, but the place is well priced for the food quality and service. Food was great, we really enjoyed it and second time in Tashkent for the past year and we loved it each time! Service was great and fast! (Again totally different from those targeted comments from others which claimed the opposite) My wife and I loved this place, will be back again to try other food.

One of my favourite places in Tashkent. I have already been there for 3rd time and each time enjoyable experience. The restaurant has a unique atmosphere, reminding the old Uzbekistan.
Jul U — Google review
I have no idea why this restaurant has so many good reviews or why it is recommended in so many blogs. Aside from the ambience in the outdoor seating area, it has nothing going for it. Service was slow and not particularly friendly, and the food was literally the worst we had in all of Uzbekistan. The meat is heavy/fatty and unseasoned, everything is drenched in oil, and all food is totally bland (we ordered 8 different dishes by the way so had a pretty good taste of the menu). Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

We visited the restaurant as a small group. The menu was arranged from the travel bureau. A salad, dolma, noodles with lamb traces as a soup and a piece of cake… I dislike almost everything. Service also needs lot of improvement. At least with this menu the experience was very bad…

Amazing place, very friendly staff, perfect service, and best atmosphere for coupes, friends or families... Very tasty food and reasonable price..

Nice atmosphere makes you think you are almost in one of the Italian restaurants in Italy. Service is good and menu is translated to English which is rare here in Tashkent. However, food is not the best. I believe there are other Italian restaurants in Tashkent which is better in food.

its really awkward being there they dont even know how to say hi to you they stare at you but the reason you should never come back is because the meals are really small and its expensive i would rather reccomend you going to another resturant

Worst Italian restaurant I've ever been to! You can't even call this catastrophe Italian. I visited for dinner on a weekday and there were absolutely no customers. I probably should have left but made the mistake of staying as I was hungry. First the lasagna didn't taste anything close to what it should taste like. It was extremely dry and tasteless. Portion was small and it looked very unappetizing. The most disappointing dish though was the golden risotto. The chicken that comes with the risotto was extremely tough and chewy. It was hard to finish even half of the chicken. The risotto was absolutely horrible as it was completely bland and tasteless. I could not taste the sauce at all. I remember visiting this place 4 years ago and the food was decent so it's really disappointing to experience how far they've fallen. I have a feeling they will probably close soon. Never again ciao!

Excellent Italian cuisine which is rarely found in Tashkent. We were surprised as well as amazed by the free pizza offered by the head waiter. Both the food and the service are exceptional! Will certainly return!

Good Italian food for Uzbekistan, decent taste and pasta was fresh, slightly overcooked, but its a very decent meal and I enjoyed the ambience

Long wait but good food. The food here is expensive by Tashkent standards but the interior is nice and food is delicious. I enjoyed their risotto and alfredo pasta the most. I'm giving 3 stars because despite the restaurant being mostly empty, it took over an hour for the food to come out. The server also reeked of cigarettes which was very unappetizing. Like most restaurants in Tashkent, there is an automatic 20% gratuity charge.

City Grill is a casual Italian restaurant located in the heart of the capital. The food is excellent, with a wide range of authentic Italian dishes to choose from, including grilled dishes, steak and chicken. The decor is simple and elegant, with light tones and pictorial details adding to the atmosphere of coziness and comfort.
Had a terrific meal here, including Caesar salad with fresh sliced breast of chicken, and perfectly seasoned salmon over a bed of spinach. Truly very tasty. Also, the wait staff was very helpful, and friendly. Thank you.

We visited City Grille in a big group and had a great experience! Others in the group really enjoyed their steaks and I really enjoyed my vegetarian option of a veggie quesadilla. Appetizers were great, we were thrilled to eat some arugula for a change. Highly recommend this place when you're in Tashkent.

The food was great, the portion was filling, and the staff was very professional. Very lowkey atmosphere great for a meet-up or even a date. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

First restaurant that I tried in Tashkent and was highly surprised. Super friendly and nice staff they made us feel very welcoming and explaining very good the dishes available. We took the meat plate for 2 persons to share and it was amazing. Also I highly suggest to try the local wine. The prices are a bit more "European" than the rest of the restaurants that I tried but completely worth it:)

I visited here to enjoy my last night in Uzbekistan. They served Uzbek wine and Uzbek beef for me and it was great. Thank you Dior for giving me a wonderful experience.

Great place for dinner! Lovely ambience if you sit outside; quiet and breezy. Extensive menu with great selections of meat, salads and pasta. We had some of the best raviolis. Steak was good as well, although the butter grill was a bit oily. Sangria was delicious. Staff speaks English and there is an English menu.

As a restaurant that specialises in steak I would expect higher quality beef that is properly cooked, but that is not what we got. Both our steaks tasted like they had been froze (one of them probably cooked from frozen), they had little flavour and did not have that grill flavour and texture you expect from a grill. For the price you pay (almost 60 pounds for 2 steaks, side of fries and two glasses of wine) I expect a lot more and I have paid a lot less for the same meal with higher quality meat and better cooking in London. The wine was nice, the restaurant comfortable and the service very average. I would not go back.
