The best temple in tirunelveli. I'm from kovilpatti visited this temple on 23-06-2022. The temple is very clean and maintained well. This temple contain all god's statues. It's very big temple . This temple have one elephant 🐘 and this elephant have separate swimming pool. And it contains one theppakulam and it's also very clean. Good architecture and the nandhi statue is very big in this temple. Overall the best temple to visit in the south side .

A must visit temple. This is a temple for Swayambhu murthi Sri Nellaiappar (Lord Shiva)and his consort Kanthimathi Ambal. Uniquely you will find Lord Vishnu in a sleeping pose, next to the Shivan temple - signifying the oneness of Shiva & Vishnu. Understand that once upon a time, these were two separate temples adjacent to each other, but later these two were connected by building necessary structures by the reigning King, leading to a one big temple complex. Here you will find multiple small temples within the complex for Lord Vinayaka, Murugan, Devi, Ayappan, Kasi Viswanathar etc other than the temples for the two main dieties. The temple is full of unique sculptures including that of animals and demigods. Proof of the high level of artistry and skills the artisans who built the temple had. The main entrance to the temple has lot of unique carvings done on the wooden roof, which you cannot miss. Must see and hear are the "stone pillars" which give out the 7 notes of Carnatic music when tapped with the hand and a few pillars give the sound of south Indian musical instruments - just amazing.. For a huge temple, it's maintained quite well, especially in terms of cleanliness. However, more lighting in a few places would help devotees see and appreciate the amazing and the intricate carving done on stone. Also a better place needs to be made for footwear, currently all footwear are left at the main entrance, making it quite difficult to retrieve yours, they would have moved quite a bit or lying under a pile of other's footwear, when you come back after Darshan. All said and done if you are passing by Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu, this is a must visit place. Better, plan a trip to this temple.

A very good temple, with a very large area, extremely intricate designs and sculptures. It is one of the best place to visit in thirunelveli as it has an extremely good carvings, idols and atmosphere. This place's serene environment help a person in detaching itself from the regular fast-paced life. A highly devotional environment and a lot of different gods make this place worth visiting. The 4 star is given due to the attitude and greed of the priests, else this place is worth even more than 5 stars.

Big architecture temple of Hindu/ಭವ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪುರಾತನವಾದ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ,It is one of the very big temples in Trunelveli. I really loved the art and architecture of this temple. The art was eye catching and very difficult to make it. I was really fascinated and amazed by our ancestors work. I would recommend people to come here and get pride in what our ancestors created

Divine. Temple owns the architectural marvel of musical pillars and other carvings which look like real life. Must visit the temple. Temple timings are 5:30am-12pm and 4pm-9pm. There is a luggage and shoe keeping center nearby.

We went in at 6am ......the temple was spick and span. People were there but the temple was not crowded. There are a lot of stories as to how Lord Siva got this name. The one which I connected most to was that they was a famine here and at that time Lord Shiva converted sand grains into food grains there by giving him the name Nellaiappar.

Good Experience - The sanctums of the temple and the gopurams were constructed by Nindraseer Nedumaran (Koon Pandian) who reigned in the 7th century AD. The mani mandapam with its famous musical pillar was also likely built by Nindraseer Nedumaran. The flag stand near the Nandi was set up in 1155.[2]Later Pandya, Kulasekara Pandyan I built the outer wall of the Thirunelveli Nellaiappar temple, in 13th century.

It is one of the very big temples in Trunelveli. I really loved the art and architecture of this temple. The art was eye catching and very difficult to make it. I was really fascinated and amazed by our ancestors work. I would recommend people to come here and get pride in what our ancestors created for us!!!! The government should spend some money to fix some issues here and improve the cleanliness of the temple ❤️

This is most peaceful place to spend times. Afternoon gate closed at 1pm and reopened at 4pm...so please time manage...This is very big temple and environmental place....avoid plastic wastes... Around this temple there are many fashion accessories and lots of stalls here ...This temple is very famous and big ...

Built in stone which is the innate and traditional way temples are built during olden and golden days. The stone sculptures and stone pillars a Exceptional. Marvelous. Treat to the eyes and mind . One can feel and immerse in the bhakthi and devotional mood when inside the temple. Very good transport facilities available. Must visit.

Visited Nellaippar on the way from Tiruchendur, able to spend only a few hours. But really amazing architecture, both wooden and stone designs are still stunning in the look of these many years. The Nellaiappar Temple is Hindu Temple dedicated to the deity Shiva, located in Tirunelveli, a city in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The temple is located on the northern banks of Thamirabarani River in Tirunelveli district. We had visited during the weekend Sunday. There wasn't much crowd. Main Sanctum Nellaiappar is very powerful, you will feel positive vibes. And his consort called as Kanthimathi Amman. You get archanai ticket for 5/- bucks per person. For commuting to this temple if any one staying in hotel stays , I would suggest to go by Local bus. Here auto driver's charge around minimum 100-150 bucks depending on your stay location. Here the priest don't act rudely, very polite, we get ample time worship the God. They don't rush things in this temple. That's really good. The sculptures in this temple is just mind-blowing. Highly recommend Om Namah Shivaya🙏

The temple complex is very huge, loved the divine aura and energy of the temple’s (garbha gruha). Make sure you have cash with you for archana tickets and flower baskets.

Nallaiappar swamiand Kanthimadhi Tayaar temple in Tiruneveli is an awesome Shivaite temple. Probably the sabctul was built in 7th century by Pandya king to which the Cholas, Cheras,Pallavas and Nayaka have added making it one of the largest and beautiful Shiva temple. The surprise part us the large, beautiful ornamental idol of Lord Vishu in sleeping position immediately next to main deities gudi. Apparently Shiva and Parvathi got married here and Vishnu as being Parvathis brother after attending the marriage was resting. It's the Tamara copper sabha, one of the 5 sabhas where Shiva has performed his cosmic dance. The sculpture in the entrance and vasantha mandapa is so realistic that it takes away your breath. A true treasure of our culture. Donating vibhuti is very auspicious.

The place is beautiful especially on a rainy day. The route/road was very good. There is a small section for womens as well to take bath in the water fall. The nearby pool is very deep and not suggested. One does not need permission to go to the falls. The overhall height of falls is not as high as places like kutralam. There are no restroom, changing rooms or any shops nearby.

This place is quite inside of city. Public transport is available upto Manimutharu village ( But the service is not a frequent , Only timing buses ). Need to buy tickets for falls by the check post near the dam and they charging for vehicle as well as for person. the entrance fee of 50 per person collected near Dam entrance forest checkpost. Only private vehicle is allowed , bikes not allowed and local people will be allowed for bike. We visited here at un-season time, so there is a less crowded people. The water is in huge flow so people are not allowed to bath. The water was so clean and chill . there is no dress changing rooms here. Note : In checkpost , entry for waterfalls closes by 15:00 Hrs Get your own food before visiting this place because there is no food available here , Only snacks available.

The best place for outing to enjoy with family for a divert from stress.Normally people will be allowed to take bath but due to high flow of water we were not allowed to take bath dated 14/07/22. Entry ticket to be taken at the security entry point costs 30 rs per person. You can spend 1 to 2 hrs if allows to take bath or else 10 to 15 mins for a photoshoot.

Awesome place to enjoy, water looks like slow and short but it's very force. But bad thing is no toilet nearby this place if it's urgent no go. Small food counter is there maintained by govt you can get some snacks it's good atleast.

Nice waterfalls situated inside forest. There is a small place for dress changing, but it's not neat. The ride to falls is by the side of manimutharu dam and has a very nice scenic view. Need to buy tickets for falls by the check post near the dam.

Manimuthar Waterfall is located a few kilometres from the dam. It offers an equally breath taking view. Tourists can enjoy a bath here and soak in the rich beauty of nature. The Manimuthar River begins from the Eastern slopes of the Western Ghats located in Tirunelveli district. The river is the chief tributary of the Thambaraparani River. The Manimuthar Dam is situated at the foothills of the scenic Podhigai Hills. It is built on Thamirabarani River. The area features marvellous natural beauty. The spot where the waters, the mountains, and the sky meet offers a spectacular view. The dam is 20 km from Papanasam town. Ambasamudram and Kallidaikurichi are the nearest towns from the dam area.

A superb water falls better than court allam. A very less crowded place and water falling from not very height. So we can enjoy the bath fully. Water is very pure and crystal clear and very chill too. Both ladies and gents can enjoy the falls and the scenery on the way to the falls. Dress changing room is available for ladies and they need not worry about it. Located some 50 kms away from tirunelveli. Tickets can be purchased in the entry itself. Connecting road is also of good condition. No snacks or shops there So we have to take the necessary food in advance only.

Water was less here in the month of June. The road continues to Manjolai after this falls but entry permitted only till 1pm, post which you need a special written permission. Entry to the falls is 40/- per person

A good place to chill with family and friends. Entry for waterfalls closes by 15:00hours. When the water 🌊 is flooded in falls you may not be allowed to take bath but only watch. The waterfall is very scenic here. Almost no shops or only a few items available here. We get tea leaves from Manjolai estate here.

Less crowded and super clean water falls. There is a dress changing room for ladies and organic pepper and tea from manjolai is available for purchase. The start time is 8am only. Ticket price per person is 40 ₹and 50 ₹ for car

We were lucky to have water flowing during our visit and enjoyed a refreshing bath under the waterfalls. The government should provide facilities for toilets at this tourist place which is much needed. Also there is lack of communications due to the absence of a mobile tower. Entry to this is granted before 3 pm.

I visited during the Jan 27th where less crowd or even no crowd i can say. One of the most significant dam and waterfalls in the state. It's a must-see destination for anyone traveling to the TN state! In addition to the stunning beauty of the falls itself, the road leading to Manimutharu WaterFalls is also a scenic treat! As I made my way towards the falls, I couldn't help but marvel at the rugged mountains that surrounded me, their peaks covered in lush greenery. The road winds its way through dense forests and picturesque countryside, offering spectacular views at every turn. I felt like I was on a journey through paradise! As I drove further up the winding road, I couldn't help but appreciate the raw and unspoiled beauty of the natural environment around me. The air was fresh and invigorating, and the cool breeze blowing through the trees was a welcome relief from the heat of the day. Overall, the journey to Manimutharu WaterFalls was just as enjoyable as the destination itself. If you're a nature lover looking for a truly immersive experience, I highly recommend taking the road less traveled and exploring the stunning natural beauty of this area. Took a detour from our trip to Madurai and saw this marvellous spot. It is perfect for a short visit in the evening (closes by 5pm), the well preserved rock cut sculptures, the view from atop, the rock paths to rest at.

ஆங்கிலத்தில் எழுதுவதற்கு மன்னிக்கவும். dt 12 - 09 - 23. After having a wonderful darshan in Kalugumalai murugan kovil, we asked people for the directions to this wonderful architectural master piece. We wanted to visit this place for a very long time. It is very close to the murugan temple. Need to walk, climb steps to reach this temple. Sad to note that the place was locked and there was no access to go and see it, but then a local told us to go around and use the small opening to get inside the fenced area so that we could see this master piece up close. Definitely not the way a tourist place should be maintained but then ..... Struggled a lot to go near and upfront of this kovil. seeing it, going around it, having a top view of this temple was something beyond words. Simply WOW WOW WOW. Called the ELLORA of the south, and done in the 8th century, historians believe that it must have been constructed using the top down approach same like in ELLORA. A treasure trove, worth seeing. Wish these places are highlighted by the tourism department.

8th century rock-cut temple on top of the Kalugumalai. Take a 14 kilometre detour on the highway between Thirunelveli and Madurai. That ride itself is worth it.

It is present inside the park. No entry fee. Vehicles can be parked outside. No separate parking available. Nice view from the top.

Truly a marvel of ancient architecture , which everyone should visit . The temple is unfinished , but one can appreciate the awesome vision and effort of the builders of 8th Century who cut this monolith , working from top downwards , from a rocky hill . The finished parts are stunning creations of great beauty . The shikara resembles the more famous Kailasa of Ellora . It is a protected monument under Archeology Department .

The Kappal Matha Church also known as Selva Matha Church is located at Uvari , a coastal village on the shores of the Bay of Bengal at a distance of 72 km from Thirunelveli and 40 km from Kanyakumari. The church dedicated to St. Mary is a delightful piece of architecture built in the shape of an aero plane placed over a ship. It was constructed in the year 1974, when the original church was damaged due to sea erosion. The church is facing the blue sea and the moving waves of the sea near gives an impression that this ship shaped church is sailing on the sea.

A brilliant architect of ship shaped church facing the sea. The calm ambiance gives much mental relief. Many miracles have been witnessed here which pulls much people here.

Peaceful Location for Praying. For silent prayers, there is a meditation room behind the shrine.

Located on shore of uvari town, one of its kind. Different in built, it's column are painted with different countries flag. Very neat and kept clean. Must visit church if u r visiting uvari.

This is called kappa Matha church in local language. Actually it is built in a boat model in honour of Our Lady. It is near a sea shore. Our Lady ‘s statue has got three faces. There are pillars in this boat church, which are painted with some European countries’ flag. It has got also an adoration church, which is a beautifully constructed for prayer and meditation. The church atmosphere is so good spiritual animation programmes. It has got toilet facilities and parking spaces.

Also known as Kappal Madha church. No other church like it! The ground level resembles a ship, the first level it's deck and the top an aeroplane. Amazing architecture and wonderful views. The deck is a chapel; Calm and serene. A peaceful place to offer your prayers. Do visit.

A great place to be. A kind of different experience You can see ship design as the bottom part of the church and plane as the top part I never seen such combination in construction specially church. The sea near to this church is little abrasive. Be careful if planning a bath.

It's a wonderful place to visit in the morning and evening..!! There is a CHURCH which is built in the shape of AIRCRAFT upon a BOAT indicates the fishermen. An amazing beach is there.. Good Rest rooms, Prayer hall, Small shops, spacious PARKING facilities are there. . Specially, there is a Good HALL for taking breakfast or lunch with 24 hour water. We can even COOK there and eat..!! There is a small POOL for taking bath for children just behind the hall.. I've shared some beautiful images from there for you all...

I know this church by the name "Kappal Matha Church" A church with a plane shape at the top and a ship shape at the bottom! The church is very near to the beach, the scenery around the place looks awesome!! One of the best places to visit with family. Great Architecture!
