The Dilwara Temples are a cluster of five intricately carved temples dedicated to Jain saints, dating back to the 11th century. Situated in Mount Abu, Rajasthan amidst the lush green Aravalli hills, these temples showcase Maru-Gurjara architectural style and embody the values of Jainism such as non-violence, honesty, non-absolutism, frugality and non-possessiveness.
Architectural beauty cannot be measured. World's beautiful temple Number one temple... No one can make this temple as it is again

The Dilwara Temples are a group of Śvētāmbara Jain temples about 3 kilometres from the Mount Abu in Sirohi District, Rajasthan. The earliest temples were built by Bhima-1 They are famous for very pure white marble and intricate marble carvings. Temples are managed by Seth Shri Kalyanji Anandji Pedhi, Sirohi. The main buildings of first three are surrounded by "cloister" screens of devakulikā shrines, and are fairly plain on the outer walls. The ornamental detail spreading over the minutely carved ceilings, doorways, pillars, and panels is remarkable. The five temples are: 1. Vimal Vasahi, dedicated to the 1st Jain Tirthankara, Shri Adinatha. 2. Luna Vasahi, dedicated to the 22nd Jain Tirthankara, Shri Shri Neminatha. 3. Pittalhar temple, dedicated to the 1st Jain Tirthankar, Shri Adinatha. 4. Parshvanath temple, dedicated to the 23rd Jain Tirthankara, Shri Parshvanatha. 5. Mahavir Swami temple, dedicated to the 24th Jain Tirthankara, Shri Mahavir Swami.

Dilwara Jain temples are one of the finest pieces of Architecture in the Indian History. The temples located just a km away from the city center are also a major tourist attraction in Mt. Abu. The Jain temples are famous for its carvings. There are close to 7 different temples within the complex and each of them seem to compete with each other on the architecture front. The top of the temples looks rustic and untidy, specially designed to prevent it from being looted and destroyed. The temples have a great piece of history and you surely need a few hours to enjoy it fully. It is open only to Jains in the morning and tourists can visit here post 11 pm once the daily rituals get over, open till 5 pm.

The architecture, the detailing on the walls, pillars, was like out of this world, it was so amazing, I couldn't believe it. So much minute , beautiful details, showing sheer hard work of the workers around 1000 years ago. I highly respect that. And that too, it's maintained in well form even today. At first, before visiting this place, I thought of it as just another Jain temple, like we have in Ranakpur (that's also very good) but this one was mind blowing. I was in awe! ❤️ Really great ✨

Dilwara Jain Temples is one of the finest Jain temple known world over for its extraordinary architecture and marvelous marble stone carvings, some experts also consider it architecturally superior to the Taj Mahal. It seems fairly basic temple from outside but every cloud has a silver lining, the temple interior showcases the extraordinary work of human craftsmanship at its best. These temples were built between 11th to 13th century AD, The beautiful lush green hills surrounding the temple gives a very pleasant feeling. The ornamental details of marble stone carvings is phenomenal and unmatched, The minutely carved ceilings and the pillars are just amazing. All this was done at a time when no transport or roads were available at a height of 1200+ Mtrs in Mount Abu, Huge blocks of marble stones were transported on elephant backs from the Arasoori Hills at Ambaji to this remote hilly region of Mount Abu. Dilwara temples is also a popular Jain pilgrimage attraction. Dilwara Temple complex consist of five major sections or temples devoted to five jain trithankaras(saints): Shri Mahaveer Swami Temple - This temple was constructed in 1582 and is devoted to Lord Mahaveer the 24th Tirthankara of Jain's, this temple is relatively small the temple's upper walls have pictures of the porch painted by craftsmen of sirohi in year 1764. Shri AdiNath Temple or Vimal Vasahi Temple - This temple is build by Vimal Shah, Minister of Solanika ruler of Gujarat in 1031 A.D., this temple is the oldest of all and dedicated to Shri Adinath Ji - The first jain trithankar, the temple has an open courtyard surrounded by corridors all beautifully decorated with marble carved stones. Cells inside this temple are contain tiny images of Jain saints artistically carved on marble stone minutely. The internal dome is aesthetically decorated with design's of flowers and petals, the huge hall of the temple pillars decorated with the carving work of female figures playing musical instruments. The temple also have the "Guda Mandapa" - A simple hall decorated with the images of Shri Adi Nath. Shri ParshavNath Temple or Khartar Vasahi Temple - This temple was built by Mandika clan between 1458-59 A.D., this temple has the tallest shrine  along with four big Mandapa's amongst all dilwara temples. The carving on the pillars of this temple is yet another example of these jain temples architectural superiority. Shri Rishabdaoji Temple or Peethalhar Temple - This temple is known as Pittalhari/Peethalhar temple because in this temple most of the statues are built using ‘Pittal’ (Brass Metal). This temple was built by Bhima Shah, a minister from Gujarat dynasty, like other temples of Dilwara this temple is also having Gudu Mandapa and Navchowki. Shri NemiNathJi Temple or Luna Vasahi Temple - This temple was built in 1230 A.D. by two brothers known as Tejpal and Vastupal, they dedicated this temple to the 22nd saint of Jainism - Shri Nemi Nathji. This temple has one hall named Rag Mandapa which has three hundred and sixty (360) tiny idols of Jain trithankar all minutely crafted on marble proving once again why these jain marble temples of Dilwara are superior to Taj Mahal, Among all these white marble idols the idol of Shri Neminath Ji is made up of black marble. The pillars of this temple were built by Maharana Kumbha of Mewar. The Dilwara Jain Temples are open from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M. for tourist's for free.

Wonderful archaeological monument and heritage place in Rajasthan. Enhousing the famous Jain temple. The structure remained after loot by invaders still reflect the past glory of Rajasthan. But the maintenance is in great need of much more attention and expense. The Kalptaru tree is drying and dying , the Parijat disappears from campus due to ignorance.

Beautiful Jain temple, constructed some 1000 years ago in year 1031 at a cost of 18 crore 53 lakh, time taken 14 years. Beautiful art on walls & roofs. Even after 1000 years most of the work on marbles is intact. Small market. You can't take mobile or camera inside the temple, keep your footware outside. Some shops of juice, eatables, local art & crafts. Nearby Parking available.
Santosh Kumar — Google review
The five Dilwara temples are among the most famous Jain temples. The Vimal Vasahi is much the earliest, constructed by 1031, with the Luna Vasahi by 1230, and the others at intervals between 1459 and 1582. All are in white marble which adds greatly to their effect and remains in use. The oldest and largest two have large amounts of intricate carving even by the standards of the style, reaching a peak in the Luna Vasahi temple. The main buildings of the first three named are surrounded by "cloister" screens of devakulikā shrines, and are fairly plain on the outer walls of these; in the case of the Vimal Vasahi this screen was a later addition, around the time of the second temple. These three have an axis from the sanctuary through a closed, then an open mandapa to an open rangamandapa, or larger hall for dance or drama.[6] Surrounding the main temple with a curtain of shrines was to become a distinctive feature of the Jain temples of West India, still employed in some modern temples.[7] In later temples in the Māru-Gurjara style, a very pure white marble like that at Dilwara came to be regarded as highly desirable, even essential. In modern times, when the style has become popular in other regions of India, and with Hindu and Jain communities in other countries, local Rajastani marble is often carved and transported to the new building. The temples have an opulent entranceway, the simplicity in architecture reflecting Jain values like honesty and frugality.[8] The ornamental detail spreading over the minutely carved ceilings, doorways, pillars, and panels is considered to be remarkable.[9] It is said that workmen were paid in gold according to the weight of marble powder scraped off.[10] Five Temples

The highest peak of the Aravali ranges, gurushikhar is a prominent tourist attraction in Mount Abu, Rajastan. Located approx 15 km from the main town, the peak is easily accessible via car & bike. You can also get a shared taxi from the town to reach here. The vehicles take you to the parking lot from where you need to climb approx 400 steps to reach the top. There are a couple of temples on the way. The best part of the climb is the awsome view of the Aravali ranges that you get from the top. You also get to see an Observatory and few Air force Radars from the top. The place surely has that zing. Do not forget to listen to Pakistan Radio while you are at the top. Being close to radar and also being the highest point, you can easy catch signals across the border. Tip - Try to reach the place early morning r late evening. You can plan either for sun rise or sun set view from here.

My family and I had an unforgettable visit to Gurushikhar. The temple atop the mountain truly embodies the essence of Sanatan Dharma, radiating its beauty and spiritual significance. While the temple itself may not be grand in size, its spirality and aura provide a profound experience. The breathtaking scenery from the temple is a sight to behold, offering clear views on cloudless days. It's a haven for meditators seeking to find inner peace and tranquility. Our time there was truly enriching, allowing us to connect with both nature and our inner selves.

Rajasthan's highest altitude - Guru Shikhar One of the best experiences of mount Abu. Lemme explain. Spotted around 15KM from mount Abu Nakki Lake. There is a temple on the peak. But the journey from nakki lake to that peak. So many attraction points are there in between. Going there with a vehicle is just another level of experience in itself. It's clearly not about the destination, it's about the journey and destination. At peak, there's just a temple and mesmerising mountain view nothing else. It will be worth it when you enjoy the journey also, the adventures in between. We took almost half a day to reach there because we stopped at so many points. Just advice not to go there by car as there is always so much traffic at peak with the car. Biking will be much better and literally enjoyable. I went there at monsoon by bike and i was feeling like riding among clouds fr. Give a day to Guru shikhar. It will easily consume your entire day but will be worth it. Visit in Monsoon if you wanna feel the heaven vibes. Attaching photos and videos for your reference.

The lake is in length of about a half mile and in width about of a quarter of mile and 20 to 30 ft. deep towards the dam on the west. It is an important tourist attraction of Mount Abu. There is the Toad Rock on a hill near the lake. Toad rock is so called as it looks like a toad about to jump into the lake, from the side of the rock facing the lake. There are two ways to go up and down the rock; to climb the rocky hill side or to use the steps leading down to Nakki Lake. By the side of the lake there is a path leading to Sunset Point. It is forbidden to climb to Sunset Point due to wild animals such as bears and leopards roaming around the path to Sunset Point. Raghunath Temple and Maharaja Jaipur Palace are also on hills near the Lake. Boating in the lake and horse rides around the lake are available. Mahatma Gandhi's ashes were immersed in this holy lake on 12 February 1948 and Gandhi Ghat was constructed.

1.The beautiful and attractive lake located in the center of Mount Abu Hill Station is surrounded by lush greenery, mountains and strangely shaped rocks. 2.There are many old stories associated with this lake. According to them, this lake was created by the gods using nakhas or nails. That is why it is famous by the name of Nakki Lake. 3.On 12 February 1948, the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were immersed and Gandhi Ghat was constructed nearby. 4.Best time to visit Nakki Lake Mount Abu – You can visit Nakki Lake throughout the year. But the best time to see it is during monsoon and winter season. The temperature here is 30 degrees Celsius in monsoon and 12 degrees in winter. The lush greenery here makes the beauty of the lake more beautiful during monsoon. Summers are hot in Mount Abu. Because of that, it would be better if you avoid visiting between March-June and you should visit the lake from July to January.

You can have the best sunset time here on the bank of the lake. Market, honeymoon point, toad rock, vivekanand cave are among the place to visit near Nakki lake. Also, you can find rental bikes, taxi and horses also to roam around this beautiful hill station.

Mount Abu is one of the few places in Rajasthan which is absolutely neat and clean and gorgeous despite being a crowded place. Its circumference is around 3 km, so take some time in hand and give it a complete visit. Do not miss the sunset point too, but be cautious: it has a good height and the path is not smooth always. Not difficult for most people though.

Sunset Point is a picturesque sightseeing spot that is well-known for its stunning views of sunsets, mountaintop scenery and hiking trails. It offers visitors the opportunity to experience a beautiful sunset and requires a walk of approximately 1 km from the parking lot, with some steps leading up to the viewpoint. For those who do not wish to walk, horse and hand-pushed carts are available. There is an entrance fee of 85 rs per person to enter.
So much rush.. But it’s worth it. If you want to ride a horse to location, then regular fee is Rs. 100. They hike prices during rush just bargain for a fair price. You can Enjoy the view and serenity after sunset too.

This place is good for Sunset experience. It has walk of around 1 km after parking and few steps at end to reach the view point. Horse and handpushed carts available for those who don't want to walk. There is a entry fee of 85 rs. Per person just to enter. Sunset timings in summer is around 7:30 so you can go there by 6:30 to get a good place and good view. Vendors available for snacks and beverages.
Shweta Mistry — Google review
Awesome sunset view but must go 30 minutes before to enjoy. Sunset point entry charges are rupees 100/- per person, which is not worth. Here you ll get horse ride and hand trolley in which 4 person can adjust.

This amazing location in mount Abu called Sunset point. It's walkable distance from parking but horses and hand pulled vehicles are available for people can't walk or enjoy horse riding. We saw beautiful sunset from here. Place was jam packed with people. You can buy water, eatables etc here. Many photographers were available to take pictures as well. Ticket is 130 per person.
Kavita Parrwani — Google review
You can see a pretty sunset from there. There's a short hike before reaching there. You can find lots of transport options if you don't want to hike. Small food joints are also there.

One of the tourist spot in Mount Abu. Ticket cost is 130/person. Little climbing is required. Horse ride available for ₹100/horse. You can relax and view sun setting in front of you

Usual sunset point at a hilly place. The best part was going to the point in our Indian jugaadu vehicle, which is pushed by banjaras. You feel bad for them, but then it's their livelihood.

It was an amazing experience at Sunset Point. It was crowded because of the weekend. If you want to secure your place to see the sunset, then you must go before the 30 or 1 hour. It's definitely a worthy place to visit there. I recommend this place if you are planning to visit Mount abu.
Sagar Koshti — Google review
Its good place Clam and peaceful. But ticket price is 85rs/person. I guess it costly for only 1 view point. There are nothing other thing to visit. From entry gate to sunset point distance is approx 2 km. By walk or horse riding and some stroller facility available to reach at point. This whole zone under forest reservation so vehicles are not allowed in side the gate. Overall experience is fabulous
Jay Bhavsar — Google review
The view from here is amazing but due to foggy weather we missed the sunset view otherwise lovely place. Weekends are quite crowded, to reach this place you have to walk around one kilometre. Food and horse carriages are also available.
pamela dey — Google review
The sunset point is one the most popular place in Mount Abu. The parking area at here is quite huge to accommodate large number of vehicles. Even though, on peck season, parking area gets cramped. Earlier there was no entry fee but they have a entry fee which is 85 rupees per person, which is excessive compared to experience and amenities this place. There is no drinking water place, washroom, baggage drop area. I would highly suggest to look into this to the management team. After the entry fee, there is a concrete road of about a kilometre to reach to the view spot. If you do not want to walk, you will have options of strollers or horse. At the time of my visit, they were charging 100rs per person for one way drop off. Due to the horses, the whole road gets messy and you have to be very causing while walking. Once you reach to the last spot, you will find this place packed with people if you get a little late. I would highly recommend to reach this place before 1 hour of sunset time. This would ensure to get you the sweet spot to enjoy the fullest. You will find some kids selling water and some snacks there. The seating area was quite clean at the time of arrival. There were few dustbins available to help to keep that way. After the sunset, while leaving the road gets quite dark and the street lights are not very good. Horses and strollers will make too much noises. To avoid this, stay a bit more to get all eager people out first. After that you will find the road empty and easier to walk.
Deepak Jatav — Google review
Can be visited if you are in mount abu, 3 to 4 kms from the nakkki lake. As it's a wildlife sanctuary the entrance fee is quite high 160 per person. But the view is good and it's a peaceful place to spend the evening. The place is very crowded on the weekends.
Ritesh Kumar — Google review
The sunset view is amazing, I enjoyed being there. You have to buy entry tickets that cost Rs. 130 per person, Rs. 50 for age group of 5-12 and kids up to 5 years are free.

The Sunset Point in Mount Abu stands out as one of the most sought-after destinations, drawing visitors with the promise of a spectacular evening vista. The expansive parking area, designed to accommodate a large influx of vehicles, attests to its popularity. However, during peak seasons, the parking space tends to become congested, creating a challenge for visitors. While the Sunset Point was once accessible without an entry fee, a recent policy change now imposes a charge of 85 rupees per person. Some might find this fee excessive, especially considering the limited amenities provided. The absence of facilities like drinking water stations, washrooms, and a designated baggage drop area is a notable concern that warrants attention from the management. Upon payment of the entry fee, a concrete road of approximately one kilometer leads to the actual viewing spot. For those averse to walking, alternatives like strollers or horse rides are available, though the latter contributes to a messy road surface, requiring caution during pedestrian travel. Arriving at the destination reveals a bustling scene, particularly if one arrives closer to sunset. To secure an optimal viewing experience, it is advisable to reach the location at least an hour before sunset. Vendors, often local children, offer water and snacks. The seating area is generally well-maintained, with available dustbins encouraging visitors to contribute to its cleanliness. Post-sunset, leaving the area can be challenging due to insufficient street lighting. Noise from horses and strollers further complicates the departure. Waiting a bit longer after sunset allows the eager crowd to disperse, making the road emptier and more navigable for those choosing to linger a little longer. In conclusion, while the Sunset Point offers a breathtaking experience, addressing parking congestion, entry fees, and amenities could enhance the overall visitor experience.

Rs. 130/person entry fee, i personally feel this is too much. Great view of sunset. Enjoy lot. 1km walk from entry point to actual sunset point. Alternative horse ride an option on weekend too much crowded limited parking space.
Yogesh Walavalkar — Google review
Very good view point to see setting sun. It is about 1 km walk from parking. There is availability of horses and other conveniences if a person is unable to walk. Should reach there a bit early, To avoid last minute rush as there is limited availability of parking space. The view point too get crowded at times. Anyways good experience

Jodhpur Bhojnalaya is a Rajasthani restaurant in Sirohi serving popular dishes like daal baati thali. The food and ambience are loved by many, with good ratings from those who have tried it.
During my trip to Mt Abu, I dined at Jodhpur Bhojnalaya and tried their dal bati with dal tadka and gatte ki subzi. Heavenly flavors and excellent service made it a must-visit spot in Mt Abu. The seating arrangements added to the positive experience.
Aatish Bhachech — Google review
Food quality is good, but the special dal bati thali is tooooo expensive. For 3 small bati ,dal they charged 220rs. And for extra bati 30rs. In 250rs full thali with 10+ items are being served in normal Rajasthani restaurant but this restaurant is too expensive in that matter. Other than that service and food taste was good. We have ordered besan gatta(okay okay), plain parantha( it was big and yummy), aloo Paratha (it was good), aloo palak, chapati. So if u want to eat dal bati and besan gatta , it's better choose some other restaurants.

My experience has been absolutely amazing with food at this place. Their daal baati and churma ladoo is excellent. And the Tikkad with awesome lehsuni sabzi is a must try for all. The taste and quality is way superior than any other food I've tasted in Rajasthan. Would visit this again whenever i am back in town.

~~I've been to a lot of Indian restaurants in my life but I can confidently say that this is the best one. •• It's the closest to authentic Indian cuisine that I've had in a long time. ••The flavors are unparalleled and their vegetarian dishes are some of the best ones out there; you can tell they put a lot of effort into getting it just right. •• The restaurant's neat and well-organized, you won't have any trouble •• In weekends you have to face traffic here And parking issues also - Al afif Sheikh

Perfect location, lot of options available. Service is good. We had Rajasthani Dal Bati served with two types of chattni which was really good. In salad they serve only onion which could be improved. We also had Rajasthani gatta vegetable served with hot butter chapatti. Overall one should visit once..

Best restaurant in Mount Abu. Taste, quality and quantity was optimum. Tried Special Dal Bati Thali in lunch and went for dinner also. Tried Tikkad with lahsun sabji. Awesome taste. Food was properly cooked. Kept the spices medium. Located in narrow lane among other restaurants, there is problem of four wheelers parking. Just ahead it had another branch. Have multiple payment modes.

Awesome Rajasthani delicacies! This was recommended by everyone who we asked for recommendations for local food. While the place is small but service is great. We tried Special Dal Bari, Tikkhad & Gatte ki Sabzi and Rabadi. Everything tasted yummy and the service was top class. All in all a must visit place 😊👌🏻

Here goes detailed and neutral review - Place is situated at main road walking distance from nakki lake and bus stop. Not much fancy place but can be crowded during weekends. 1. Masala khichiya papad - little bit expensive but taste was nice and crispy and it was the only item which we liked most. 2. DaalBati - oh man, you give only 3 bati and limited daal at this price point? Most of the people would be disappointed by it. Taste is good though but not the best. 3. Gatte di sabji with makke ki roti - hot makke ki roti was nice in taste and it balanced the lack of taste in sabji. 4. Tikkad with lehsun sabji - it is usually served as sabji spread over tikkad (thich wheat roti) in a pizza style. We did not like the taste, frankly speaking. Thanks for reading.

Very good taste.. Quality is very good.. Must try — ‘Lahsun ki sabji with tikkad roti’ ‘Dal bati’ , churma laddu , kadi masala khichdi . Normal tava roti is so soft like home. Don’t go anywhere for lunch/dinner, Awesome taste of food. Love to visit again and again and again..

Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the pleasure of dining at Jodhpur Restaurant yesterday and I have to say, it was an absolute delight! The highlight of my visit was definitely the Dal Bati, which was just awesome. The flavors were spot on and the batis cooked perfectly. I went with a group of six, and based on the recommendation I received, we ordered only three plates of dal bati. It was a wise decision because one plate was indeed quite full, even for someone like me who can eat a lot! So, if you are a group of six, I suggest ordering three plates; It will be more than enough. Apart from dal bati, we also tried their tikkad with garlic ki sabzi, makke di roti gutte ki sabzi, and cheese masala khechiyan as starters. I’ll tell you, every meal was a delight to our taste buds. The tikkad with lasun ki sabzi was perfectly spiced, the makke di roti had the flavor of the gutte ki sabzi and the cheese masala khechian was a unique and delicious dish The whole experience at Jodhpur Bhojnalay was amazing. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed and the staff friendly and attentive. Their treatment was complimentary and they made sure we had a memorable dining experience. If you are a dalbati lover like me, I highly recommend you to visit Jodhpur Bhojnalay. Just remember, if you’re with your family or friends, don’t order dal bati for anyone immediately. Instead, follow service recommendations based on demographics. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait to come back and explore more of their delicious offerings. Keep up the excellent work, Jodhpur Restaurants!

Rajasthani Bhojnalaya is a highly recommended restaurant known for its delectable and authentic Thali. The food is expertly prepared, eliminating the need for additional seasoning such as salt. Their expertise in creating mouthwatering dishes like Kathyawadi Thali, Rajasthani Thali, and Dal Bati is truly impressive. The service provided by the restaurant is commendable, with a focus on hygiene standards.
Delicious, authentic Thali, really tasty food. The food was so nicely made that I didn't even needed to add salt. Amazing work with thali. I would highly recommend kathyawadi Thali, rajasthani thali, dal bati. Good service, comparatively hygienic. Thank you Chef for such great food.

Strongly Not Recommended!!! They typically take 50-60 minutes for a basic Thali order. On March 24, 2024, a group waiting with us began complaining about the delay. I was shocked when the owner became angry and slapped one of the guys. The staff then started hitting the group with rods. Avoid such restaurants in Rajasthan.

In the new, small, two storeyed eatery specialising in daal bati, the ambiance wasn't very appealing, for it was just chairs and tables aligned in their available floor space. There were two options for daal bati, both of which were quite good. Rabdi was downright horrible. Not recommended for huge groups. Service was okayish.
