Best ever place for a trip in anyone's life, in the middle of waters there exists a place to get a peace of mind. This is the only one. Not only for an excursion but only for seeing a view of water bodies statues ,sunset and sunrise points, we went there. Going in a boat from one side to the other side of the rock memorial was an awesome experience. After coming back to home we think of the place and imagine the scenery. No words to explain, what a view.
NAVEENR91 — Google review
I went with my family and it is an iconic place in the whole of India. The memorial is fully surrounded by the sea and is so exciting watching the water bodies cover all parts of the land. It's one of the most beautiful memorials ever and maintained wonderfully well. To reach the memorial from the mainland the government operates jetty service which costs 75 per adult and only cash is accepted. Even on a weekday we had to wait for almost 2 hours in total to reach the memorial so plan accordingly. Other than that it's a mesmerizing place with a grand view.

Worth visiting place. We went in the noon hours so there was less crowd. The ticket price is 75 Rs to and fro on the ferry. You will get around 40-45 minutes to visit Vivekananda Memorial and can buy books too. You can enjoy beautiful view of Triveni Sangam.

This is one of the best place to visit in India at Southern most tip with horizon view of Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and Arabian sea. Spectacular views all around, time flies here, doing meditation here is an extraordinary experience. Divine Sunset from here is a blessing. Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a monument and popular tourist attraction in Kanyakumari, India's southernmost tip.[1] The memorial stands on one of two rocks located about 500 meters off mainland of Vavathurai. It was built in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda, who is said to have attained enlightenment on the rock.[1][2][3][4] According to legends, it was on this rock that Goddess Kanyakumari (Parvathi) performed tapas in devotion of lord Shiva. A meditation hall known as Dhyana Mandapam is also attached to the memorial for visitors to meditate. The design of the mandapa incorporates different styles of temple architecture from all over India.[1] The rocks are surrounded by the Laccadive Sea where the three oceans Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea meets. The memorial consists of two main structures, the Vivekananda Mandapam and the Shripada Mandapam.[5]

There is entry ticket 🎫 of Inr 30 to go inside the hall, meditation area, book shop etc.,. Ferry ⛴️ ticket is for ferry only. The place is maintained very good. Shoes 👞 and sandals 🩴 are not allowed inside. They have facilities to keep safe. Eating 🥣 is not allowed. The breeze is so cool. The architecture is fabulous. Better to visit on weekdays to have less crowded and enjoy your time.

It was my father's dream to visit this place. During his school days he contributed 2 rupees for the construction of this beautiful structure. It's really beautiful. At the confluence of the Arabian sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. From the beach, through a steam boat we have to reach this place. Life jacket mandatory so zero risk. We spend around 2 to 3 hours on the memorial. Altogether it was a pleasant experience. Best time to visit in the afternoon to avoid high temperature and to enjoy the evening breeze.

This is a lovely serene place to be. The last mainland rock of India has pretty amazing views and a great place to mediate on the Vivekanand rock memorial. The ferry service from the mainland is a bit pricey for a 5 min ride though

Surreal to experience the culmination of 3 vast oceans and seas. Very crowded on weekends though. They close the ticket counter around 4 pm. Two large boats do to and fro tips to the rock memorial. Although the distance is very short, the waves are high because 3 water bodies meeting there. The sunset and moonrise views are awesome. Try to avoid public holidays.

Swami Vivekananda meditated in 1892.sun set from the mainland is amazing. The ferry ride is super. Goddess Kumari performed austerity. The life jackets in the ferry are not good. A place of enlightenment. Nice for refreshment and meditation.

Beautiful place surrounded by the vast blue Indian Ocean on one side, the bay of Bengal on the other and the Arabian sea. Accessible by ferry from the mainland. There is a statue of Swami Vivekananda inside the memorial. Amazing views all over. Calm and relaxing atmosphere.

Well, what to say about that as there are so much written about that in detail but still I like to add that the difference between " I have read it" and " I have seen it " is this place inside the sea in Kanyakumari. In simple words, it's breathtaking. You have to go through sea by ferry to reach the island and back. Ferry service starts sharp at 8AM in morning. Don't get fooled by 200/- vs 50/- rs VIP gimmick as there is no difference in any treatment at any stage. Well, go there to feel it for yourself. It's definitely worth it.

Wonderful place. We as a family visited this place and we loved it. We went at around 4:00pm and the sun was bright and the winds were strong. The rock memorial is maintained well and very clean. You can sit peacefully and do meditation. The ferry will take you from the mainland to the island. The charges are Rs. 50/- per person. There is another landmark right next to the memorial in another island, that is Thuruvalluvar Statue. It was under renovation and no visitor was allowed to go near it. We can definitely enjoy the sound of waters and the strong breeze that embraces. The sea was rough because of the winds. The colors of the oceans were spectacular. It is a treat to watch sunset and sunrise from the same place. A must to visit for everyone.

Such an awesome place for one time visit. Hygienic and neat place. Safe for infants. Enjoyed the boat ride too. Meditation zone, temple and all provides an extremely different ambience. A very peaceful place. You have to go in a boat to reach this place which costs 50rs per person normal entry or 200rs per person for quick entry. Need to pay Rs 30/- for entering vivekanand rock memorial. You have to be at the place before 4 o clock in the evening. Gates will be closed after that and tickets will not be issued. The meditation room is there. You can witness beautiful sunsets.🌅

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visiting the Vivekananda Memorial Rock in Kanyakumari was an awe-inspiring experience that left me feeling spiritually uplifted and deeply connected to the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The serene atmosphere, coupled with breathtaking views of the confluence of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean, created a truly mesmerizing ambiance. Ascending the rock via the ferry ride was a delightful adventure, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscapes. Upon reaching the memorial, I was greeted by the imposing statue of Swami Vivekananda, whose presence exuded a sense of tranquility and wisdom. Exploring the meditation hall, where Swami Vivekananda attained enlightenment, was a profoundly moving experience. The hall's minimalist design and serene atmosphere provided the perfect setting for introspection and contemplation. Additionally, the adjacent Vivekananda Kendra, with its informative exhibits and engaging presentations on Swami Vivekananda's life and teachings, offered valuable insights into his visionary philosophy and enduring legacy. Overall, my visit to the Vivekananda Memorial Rock was a transformative journey that left a lasting impression on my mind and soul. I highly recommend this spiritual sanctuary to all seekers of inner peace and enlightenment.

Very beautiful place. The places reverberates with spirituality. It was a memorable visit. You can spend 2-3 hours. Sitting on this rock Swami Vivekananda came up with the decision to go to America to spread the teachings of Vedanta. The meditation room is a great place to meditate. The view is great and calms the mind. During early morning hours stand near the Kanyakumari Temple sunrise point and see the sun rise over the memorial. Very nice structure and well maintained. Waiting time may be high in season for ferry and consider this while you make your travel plans.

Nice place to visit and experience being surrounded by the ocean. The ferry is a short ride here but it's very unsafe as there are never enough life vests. They need to improve the safety significantly as the waves can be very rough. The memorial is nice and the area is very scenic.

The Rock Memorial is amazing! They have this quiet meditation room that’s so peaceful, you can’t even hear the ocean outside. The whole place is just beautifully built. Definitely worth checking out! Highly recommend it.
Amrita 19 — Google review
Worth the visit if it isn't crowded. The boat ride to and from the rock looks perilous but everyone seems to enjoy it like some distopian roller coaster ride. We reached by around 2 PM and hardly waited in the ticketing queue. Takes around 1-1.5 Hrs in total, a little more if you chose to meditate in the meditation hall. The entry queue was serpentine by the time we returned (around 4-5 PM)

Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
The Shree Thanumalayan Swamy Temple in Suchindram is a 17th-century Hindu temple located near Nagercoil, between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It boasts intricate architectural detailing in the typical South Indian style, but with exceptional workmanship that is truly remarkable. Visitors are required to remove shirts before entering the temple. The facade of the temple features sculptures of Hindu deities, while inside musical and instrumental pillars can be found.
One must seek the historic and mythological importance from the local guides. Otherwise it seems like ordinary temple. The musical pillars, instrumental pillars are just amazing.. Rich sculptural heritage exists here... Originality is retained.. Must visit temples of Tamilnadu.

Beautiful temple which is spread over 5 acres. If you are visiting from elsewhere take a tour from a local. We were fortunate enough to have a guided tour from one of the priests over there. The Dancing Hallway, Musical Pillars with beats and also different musical instrument pillars are my favourites in the temple. Ideology, Philosophy and Architecture are mesmerizing. One of the best temples i visited on my trip.

Excellent temple. This was my first time to a temple with Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu in single statue. Main temple probably 2300 years old. It is best to hire guide otherwise you take much longer and miss a few items. One highlight of the temple is music pullers which only a guide can demonstrate. Over a nice experience. A must see if you are going to Kanyakumari.

Must visit temple. Very ancient with amazing energies. There are very fine aspects to the architecture, including the geometry. Suchindaram has a root meaning 'to clear'. This temple clears vaastu dosh, pitra dosh, etc. There are beautiful instruments to clear planetary effects, metallic musical poles and multiple deities with awesome construction of the temple. It is very ancient. A guide will be useful. No photography is allowed inside so leave your phone and bag outside before going ahead. Timings are specific.

One of the oldest temple in Kanyakumari district. Amazing architecture. It is one of the few temples in the country where the Trinity, ‘Brahma, Vishnu and Ishvara’, are worshipped. The temple enshrines ‘Sri Sthanumalaya’, the Trinity of God (Siva, Vishnu and Brahma). The linga is in three parts. The top represents “Sthanu” name of Siva, the middle “Mal” name of Vishnu, and the base “Aya” name of Brahma. Navaghra is in ceiling. That's so unique. Parking is available.

The Suchindram Shree Thanumalayan Swamy Temple is a remarkable place in South India, celebrated for its stunning architecture and profound spiritual significance. This unique temple is dedicated to the Trinity of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Brahma. When you step inside, you're enveloped in a serene and tranquil atmosphere. The temple's towering 144 ft structure, adorned with intricate architecture, is a sight to behold. The colossal 18 ft statue of Lord Hanuman adds to the temple's grandeur. If you're planning a visit, remember to adhere to the dress code: men are expected to wear dhoti or full pants without a shirt, while women can enter wearing sarees or salwar suits. It's advisable to plan ahead, as there are only a few clothing shops nearby. While cameras are allowed inside, capturing pictures in the main temple area is restricted. Just like many other South Indian temples, the Suchindram Temple is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking spiritual solace and architectural beauty.

Other than viewing sunset this place is definitely suitable for relaxation with a good view.A best place to see the sunset. Most people do not go to this site. Don't miss this side of Kanyakumari. It is fantastic, calm, and beautiful. There is not much sandy beach here but rocks to sit and enjoy the view and sound. Ample of parking spots around the beach area and nice walking path between the spots and beach which provides a refreshing walk and something to remember as a cherishing memory. Many food hawkers here for snack items. Dustbins are there on the roads near the beach so please do not throw waste on the beach like many others have done.

The sight of the sunset is astounding, but the place isn't very clean, a heap of clothes strewn against the rocks in the sand, ruins of a road and a seating area, maybe. Has so much potential that isn't being utilised. Having said that, watching the sun set in this place is something you SHOULD NOT miss. Just get there earlier and stake your claim on a rock

We went for stroll on the shore side, viewed the Thiruvalluvar status and Vivekananda rock from the Sunrise points. We climbed the view tower to see the sunset. This is simply amazing to see ! What a location to see the sunset. The sunset was amazing to see with orange background and rumbling seas hitting the rocks on shoreline. There was an moderate crowd there. Once the sunset, almost all left and we decided to spend few minutes in the strong wind top of the view tower. Then, came the amazing moment. The whole sky turned orange in colour and sea and oceans around reflected them ! This is one amazing moment. We got up around 4:30 AM, bathed and went to see the sunrise at sunrise point. Sunrise point is just behind the Amman temple on the Kanyakumari Beach. There were already around 3000 people there! One can sight beautiful sunrises anywhere in Kanyakumari, but, this place is quite special. The sun rises between the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar statue !

Calm and Magical! . Great place to relax and feel the cold salty wind Breeze through your hair and enjoy the setting of the Sun. . Just 10 minutes drive from boating point. . Ample free parking space, chargeable washroom facility is also there which is a little far (50-100 m from beach side), some snack options also you would find there. . There are enough rocks and walls to sit on and enjoy. . ADVISE: come a little early(5-5:15pm) to attain the front rocks seats otherwise other people's heads would hinder the beautiful sunset and be cautious where you sit, choose your rock wisely. . Thanks Don't forget to upvote if you found this helpful

A must visit place in our life time. Truly amazing. Watching Sun rise here is a great experience. The waves sound of the Hindu Ocean is like a music. You must witness the confluence of Hindu Ocean, Bay of Bengal, and Arabian Sea. Watching Vivekananda Memorial from here is also a wonderful experience. Come here with fully charged camera 📸📸 and Mobile Phone 🤳🤳🤳 for taking selfies or record the Sun 🌞☀️ rise.

A serene and lovely spot on the last land of India. The vast Indian ocean shows its might in full fury as the tides grow high. It is recommended to wear non slippery footwear if you wish to climb the rocks for viewing sunset. Lot of vendors and parking spots available in the vicinity, just a public restroom is missing.

Went on a weekday but was still very crowded during sunset time. The sunset happens over the sea for a few months and moves towards the land for a few months.. Obviously the sunset over the sea is more beautiful.

To feel the awesome breeze alone this is a good spot. There are some seats available to enjoy the view and the wind carrying the ocean fragrance dashing on our face. If management could maintain the place it would be better. The best time to visit is 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM. Some people are taking baths naked. It would be better if they won't allow that.

Awesome sunset. Crowded. The views are amazing. From kanyakumari temple auto will charge 80rs. If you have time it's better to walk since the sea shores are neatly managed.

The view is absolutely fantastic. The sun going down below the sea is so magical. The place can be viewed from the beach ,but requires perfect weather. However when cloudy it won't be seen well. The wind blowing continuosly through your hair is such a perfect combo with the scenery. There is a view tower also for seeing the sunset.

Went to the sunset point in a Sunday evening. Got there about half an hour before sunset time. We were able to find parking space for the car pretty easily. By the time the sun sets , the place is packed with people. I quite enjoyed the sunset view more than the sunrise.

I can't express my feelings about this place. This is a really wonderful place in all of Tamil Nadu, even in India. Everyone can visit once and feel the vibes. I spent 2 hours there, I was thinking of spending more time and enjoying nature. The sunset with beach sea water noise was a really unforgettable moment of my life. Loved it.

You have to pay 50rs if you come in car to visit this stinky smelly place of a beach. What a horrible beach it is . It stinks to the core and there was a dead car near the beach rocks . While entering the kaniyakumari road you have to pay 50rs and for entering the beach through car you have to pay another 50rs. Worst beach ever

It was my first time in Kanyakumari, and this Sunset point is where I visited first. Pretty neatly-kept place, with huge parking space and many local vendors selling snacks, fried fish, random seashell items. Pretty neat - overall, but there are 0 waste bins, and the visitors carelessly throw plastic and paper wastes near the beach area. There are many street dogs too, but not much of a menace. Definitely longing to go back! :)

Sunset Point in Kanyakumari is a mesmerizing location where the sky meets the sea, offering a spectacular view of the sun dipping below the horizon. Visitors often describe the experience as if the sun is being gently swallowed by the Arabian Sea. The vibrant hues that paint the sky during this daily spectacle create a canvas of beauty that remains etched in the memory of onlookers. The point is ranked as the third most popular attraction among 56 in Kanyakumari, according to travelers’ reviews. It’s recommended to visit during off-peak days to avoid the crowds and fully enjoy the serene atmosphere. The duration of the visit is typically less than an hour, making it a perfect brief stop that rewards you with a lifetime memory of nature’s grandeur. The area around Sunset Point also offers a variety of attractions and amenities. There are numerous restaurants within a 5 km radius, offering a range of cuisines from local Indian dishes to fast food options. Additionally, the proximity to other points of interest, like the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, adds to the appeal of the location for a day trip. In summary, Sunset Point in Kanyakumari is not just a place to witness a beautiful sunset; it’s an experience that combines natural splendor with cultural richness, making it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to the southern tip of India.

Padmanabhapuram Palace

Mentioned on
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Padmanabhapuram Palace, located in the northwest of Kanyakumari, is a grand complex of wooden palaces that showcases the traditional architecture of Kerala. With beautifully carved rosewood ceilings and polished-teak beams, this palace is considered to be the best example of Keralan architecture. It was once the capital of Travancore, an unstable princely state spanning Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Awesome place to visit. A must visit place to know about the history. There is entry fee and separate fee for clicking photos. The place is well maintained and very vast. The guides will explain the details of each section. The place is cool and calm. Parking has to be done near the road near entrance. Beautiful architecture and construction . In some places the maintenance has to be improved.

It was sad to visit this historic site that has so much to offer to tourists & see very poor upkeep & signage. I would not recommend it to people visiting internationally. It’s rich in architecture & history and yet there is barely any information printed out and posted for visitors to understand the architecture & how the spaces were used. The volunteers there give you a basic introduction to each room “this is the dining hall” or “this is the ladies waiting room” but that’s about it. Most of the directional signage is broken. Many areas are closed off with sad broken, mismatched, uneven barriers. It’s hard to get a good photo of many areas (the dance hall is a great example of this) because of these barricades, garbage, old furniture, broken rails, electrical wires, exposed power panels & tiles/debris shoved in many corners. See pics. I’m sure the government of Kerala can do better. Right from the entrance gate, water fountains, to the room where you leave your shoes needs updating. India is so rich in culture so it’s always upsetting to see it maintained & presented in such a sad state.

The palace and its architecture were beautiful, worth a visit. The ticket counter doesn't allow any other mode of payment except cash. The way inside the palace is systematic. You may go for a family outing to see and imagine the lavish lives of its residents or just enjoy this historical site.

Upon arrival, it's essential to acquire tickets, as footwear is prohibited within the premises. You must store your shoes in the provided cloakroom. Consider purchasing temporary shoe covers to shield your feet from the heat and ensure comfortable walking. Although sections of the palace are inaccessible due to its age, it remains a captivating glimpse into royal life. Ample parking space is available, with a roadside parking fee of 50 rupees.

One of the oldest and largest wooden palaces in India. The government has maintained the place really well. The guides here provide some good insights of the palace. The architecture of the palace is so amazing. It takes a minimum of 2 hours at least to complete the entire tour. There are certain sections of the palace which are inaccessible perhaps due to its ancientness. And there are some scribblings on the walls and pillars which spoils the architecture a bit. There are some paintings that have been kept for viewers which actually depict the culture and other aspects of the kings life during those days A must visit if are nearby. The palace is open to the public from 2.00PM and it's advisable that you reach 30 mins earlier to avoid the rush in availing entry tickets. The palace is located just around 20 km from Nagercoil and upon arrival you have to take tickets which cost 40 per adult and 20 for a mobile camera for Indian citizens and only cash is accepted here. They also provide lockers to keep your footwear since it is prohibited inside the palace.

A very nice place to visit and very interesting in knowing about the Prinece Queen lifestyle , architecture of palace, gardening , lighting inside the house, kitchen, 64 herbs bed for King, separate room for king's mother, attractive and lifetime furniture, windows style, balcony areas etc... Main attraction is the dance hall where kings and ministers sit and watch. Whereas the queen watch from special windows. The kitchen utensils, well with fulcrum etc.. are amazing... The roof architecture of the palace is marvelous. The rainwater harvesting introduced long long years ago tells us that the importance of Conservation of Water. A special building for other kings and visitors was built in foreign style. The room for providing free food for the public really appreciable. Overall I loved the place and enjoyed with my family.

Undoubtedly a city landmark with rich historical significance, especially appealing for those with an affinity for old architecture. However, if you're a local who has already explored the vintage homes of your grandparents, the experience might lack novelty. The real charm lies in the intricate woodwork of the stairs, corridors, and more, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship. Before planning your visit, be aware of a few nuances. There's an entry fee of Rs.50 for cars, and parking can be a hassle in the congested vicinity of the palace. Upon entering, brace yourself to part with Rs.5 for the mandatory removal of footwear, with UPI or cash payment. The entrance fee for Indian adults is Rs.40, and if you wish to capture memories through mobile photography, it's an extra Rs.20 per person, payable only in cash. Disappointingly, UPI or card payments are not accepted. Once inside, guards may approach, seemingly more concerned with verifying payments for mobile camera photography than enhancing your experience. Despite some reviews suggesting otherwise, I found the guides to be well informed and thorough in their explanations, contradicting claims that they fail to provide meaningful insights.

It feels like stepping back in time when exploring the palace and its surroundings, which hold a lot of intrigue. I remember visiting this place often during my childhood, but many areas I once saw are no longer accessible today. Some places may have been sealed off, and many areas have deteriorated over time. With age, the palace, its buildings, and its collection of items are starting to show signs of wear. It's uncertain how long they will last, but the government is making efforts to preserve this historical site.

My recent visit to this palace left me in awe of its stunning architectural brilliance. The craftsmanship is truly remarkable, a testament to the visionary architect behind it. While the interior lacks an extensive collection of artifacts, the museum does offer a glimpse into the palace's history with a few noteworthy pieces. The presence of staff in each section added to the experience, providing valuable insights into the exhibits. However, the policy of no footwear inside proved to be a minor inconvenience, especially when stepping outside onto scorching hot ground. Despite this drawback, the palace remains a delightful destination worth exploring.

One of the most beautiful and biggest wooden palace in India. Palace is mesmerizing. Beautiful scenery and one can see hill behind palace which adds extra beauty to the palace. It is near about 400 years old. Need better preservation and maintenance. Illumination is low but that gives it an illusive look. Inside the palace few guides available, they explain about the importance topics of it nicely. It was the original capital of the Travancore Dynasty and this palace was their original palace before they shifted their capital and palaces to Trivandrum. It's a protected monument now under the Archaeological survey of Kerala. A good Historical place. Entry fee 40 for adults and 20 rupees for mobile photography.

Despite being located in Tamil Nadu, Padmanabhapuram Palace is a testament to Kerala's rich architectural heritage and is lovingly maintained by the Kerala government. This intriguing fact only adds to the palace's unique charm and historical significance. A few practicalities to note before you go: be prepared for warm temperatures, especially during the day. The palace is not air-conditioned, and the heat can be quite intense, so dress accordingly and stay hydrated. Additionally, remember to bring cash for the entrance fee, as card payments are not accepted. Once inside, the palace is a treasure trove of intricate woodwork, stunning sculptures, and breathtaking murals. Every corner you turn reveals a new masterpiece, showcasing the incredible craftsmanship of the era. I was particularly captivated by the detailed carvings adorning the ceilings and pillars, which tell stories of mythology and daily life from centuries past. While the heat and the cash-only payment policy might be minor inconveniences, the sheer beauty and historical value of Padmanabhapuram Palace make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in art, history, or architecture. Just remember to dress for the weather and bring enough cash, and you're in for a truly unforgettable experience

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My visit to the Kanyakumari Bhagavathi Amma Temple was nothing short of divine bliss. From the moment I stepped foot into the temple grounds, I was enveloped by a sense of peace and reverence. The temple's stunning architecture, adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant colors, is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of India. The sanctum sanctorum, dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi Amma, radiated with spiritual energy, inviting devotees to offer their prayers and seek blessings. The atmosphere within the temple was palpably serene, with the soothing chants of priests and the fragrance of incense filling the air. Witnessing the rituals and ceremonies performed with utmost devotion was a deeply moving experience, leaving me feeling spiritually uplifted. Moreover, the temple's location overlooking the confluence of the three seas added an extra layer of mystique and beauty to the overall experience. Watching the sunrise or sunset from this sacred site is truly a sight to behold and an experience that I will cherish forever. In conclusion, the Kanyakumari Bhagavathi Amma Temple is not just a place of worship, but a haven of peace and tranquility where one can connect with the divine and find solace amidst life's chaos. As usual, people are not allowed in their usual dress like other temples in south India. I just hate this part. They want us to come vare chest and lungi in front of ladies and specially in this temple which belongs to Kumari Kanya. There is forced fees at the entry and when you ask why are you taking it then they say it's volunteer fees for Mantainenece. I mean I just don't understand if they do have money for maintaining this temple. Really, govt is not giving them any grants or they have no wealth inside or people do not donate. I find it waste but religiously I found it good. See God is equal for every one, poor or rich, young or old, make it female. But these useless pandits there are greedy.

One of the holy and important places to visit in kanyakumari. It should be in the number one list in the itinerary for those who visit kanyakumari. It's good to visit early in the morning since it will be much crowded during the day. The temple will close at 12:30 pm and again reopens at 4:30pm. Shirt/t shirt or banyan is not allowed for men devotees, no dress code for women. No rules for bottom wear in men. Good view of Vivekananda Rock memorial from the back side of the temple. The rituals and ceremonies held at the Kanyakumari Bhagavathy Temple are captivating, offering a glimpse into the region's traditions and faith. The temple's festivals, especially during Navaratri, are vibrant and lively, reflecting the deep devotion of the devotees. The temple's vibrant atmosphere is complemented by the natural beauty of Kanyakumari, creating a perfect blend of spiritual and natural splendor. Good place. I loved the fact that unlike eastern and Northern India they do not force the devotees to buy offerings from them or offer anything to devi. If you want you can, otherwise no one forces you. Male devotees must go bare chest inside temple. Women can wear any traditional cloth. Lovely ❤ Temple.... The nose stud of Bagavathi Amman is very cute... Powerful Amman...heart is filled with her blessings...💕💖

* Don't take photos inside the temple, the temple management authority is very strict with this rule, they will sieze your phones. * There is a counter for keeping your chappals outside the temple and a bag counter when you just enter the temple. * Ladoo and many Prasad items are there to buy . * Men should remove shirt and banyan before entering the temple. * Near to kanyakumari bus stand and triveni sangam. * Many hotels and restaurants when you walk through the streets towards the temple entrance. * Sunrise point towards left side of the temple.

Kanyakumari Bhagavathi Amman Temple in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, India is of being mesmerized by the stone idol of the Goddess inside the sanctum sanctorum. In the semi-dark sanctum, a ray of light fell on the face of the deity, and suddenly the nose ring that adorned her shone brilliantly, illuminating her face. The eyes of the deity shone with a divine lustre in the light reflected by the diamond-studded nose ring, and tears rolled down our faces, tears of pure bliss. Such is the effect of Devi Kanyakumari, at the Bhagavathy Amman Temple, Kanyakumari. One can only imagine the effect that the Kanyakumari Temple and the Goddess Kanya Kumari (Virgin Goddess), must have had on the great Swami Vivekananda in the year 1892, when he visited and meditated at the temple, before swimming to the rock, now known as Vivekananda Rock Memorial.

The Kanyakumari Temple is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Tamil Nadu. The intricate carvings and vibrant colors of the temple are a feast for the eyes. I was blown away by the energy and spiritual aura of the Kumari Amman Temple. The temple's location at the southernmost tip of India only adds to its significance. The temple's dedication to the goddess Kanyakumari is evident in every corner. The temple staff were very helpful and accommodating to visitors. The architecture of the Kanyakumari Temple is a blend of Tamil and Keralan styles, which makes for a unique and fascinating visit. Visiting the Kanyakumari Temple during sunrise or sunset is a surreal experience. The temple's location on the coast offers stunning views of the sea and sky. The temple's history and mythology are intriguing, and the temple guides are knowledgeable and passionate about sharing their knowledge with visitors. The Kanyakumari Temple is a peaceful sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle of the town. I highly recommend taking some time to soak in the tranquility of the temple. The temple's main deity, Kanyakumari Devi, is believed to possess great powers and blessings. Visiting the temple is a way to connect with this divine energy. The temple's cleanliness and upkeep are commendable. The temple grounds are well-maintained, making for a pleasant visit. The Kanyakumari Temple is a place of great cultural and spiritual significance. I left the temple feeling enlightened and grateful for the experience. Finally the Diamond nose ring, it is said to be adorned on the nose of the goddess, and it is considered to be a symbol of her power and grace.

Very beautiful ancient temple. Worth it to see the Goddess with diamond nose ring. Went early morning at 8am didnt have to wait. Men not allowed in with shirts. As usual everyone will hound you to buy things pr take photos Still worth a visit

the temple holds such a divine peace, and is located beside the beach. In order to skip queue, they charge an additional amount of 20rs per person. However this allows you to get a close view of the devi. The nose ring that devi has is said to be a powerful mark in the history of Kanyakumari ,and is worshipped for its power. It holds such a beautiful aura. The architecture, the walls ,everything is designed so well and is maintained with the same pureness. Prasad can be obtained from the counters outside, which costs around 100-150.

Kanyakumari temple is dedicated to Godess parvati in her reincarnated swaroop Kanyakumari or kumari Amman . Prasad and shoe collection counter is in the premises. No dress code- just dress modestly. Its quiet old temple and offers amazing architectural aesthetics. Various statues and idols within the temple are carved marvellously. Not much crowded (except on special days) , otherwise all time of the day minimal crowd is there. When in Kanyakumari why skip this place 😜.

A holy place at the endpoint of mainland of India. The name of the place Kanyakumari is derived form the Kumari Mata idol of this temple. Temple is simple with great sculpture inside. The ambience inside will create great spiritual felling among the devotees. You have to submit your bag at the door. There are a 20 rupee ticket for darshan. Men have to uncover the upper part of their body to enter the temple. After 11am The Kumari Mata, a form of goddess Parvati wear verious ornaments and give blessings to her devotees is a great look.

The Curry is a great place to have a meal if you're in Kanyakumari. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. It's also reasonably priced, which makes it an ideal spot for busy people on the go.
One of the best restaurants in Kanyakumari. Great ambience and awesome food🤩. Highly recommended....!!!! 👍
Arvind Shona — Google review
The taste of non veg food was good and atmosphere is also good. The prawns fry starter they served cold but later on request the reheated it. Overall good restaurant for all type of foods. Service time can be improved.
Parikshit Karande — Google review
Decent restaurant in the area. Did not live up to the expectations as mentioned by the other reviews for some reason. The place was filled with kitchen smoke, and was there throughout our meal. The ambience was not great, cleanliness was average. The staff members were good. Service time is average. Adequate seating available along with a hotel in the upper floors with direct restaurant access. The only good thing about this restaurant is the taste of the food. It's absolutely delicious and definitely worth tasting. However, the price is on the higher side, and it feels as though the price brings down the value of the food too. It is not always about the high price or low price, but about the quality of food you get for the amount you pay. I'd say this restaurant is worth a visit, or else there are other restaurants nearby too.

Bestest place to dine in at kanyakumari. Good customer service. Food was tasty and quantity was adequate. The prices are in a affordable range too

One my favourite restaurant in my life, very tasty and hygiene. Friendly staffs never mind of cost sea foods are really good when I had 1 day back. Nan and paneer butter masala was very flavoured.

One of the best places in Kanyakumari and a must visit with family and friends. Japan chicken is a must try and it tastes the best among all. Peaceful and romantic ambience with all family tables. Service is good and food is served with a decent wait time. Road side parking available for bikes and cars. But the place is highly congested in vacation times. Egg noodles was good, Fish deep oil fry was decent, Finger fish was good. Lemon soda was sparkling fresh and tastes good. Highly recommended for friends and family. One improvement could be menu could be updated with available food items because when we are excited with the menu item and order, it's such a disappointment when they say that it's not available.

Visited this restaurant for lunch hoping it would be good as per the reviews. It was worse. Bad food, using oil which has been used multiple times causing fries to be black with the bad oil taste. Bad soup. Bad Biryani. Flies all around. No one listens. No one cares. Don’t visit at all. Cracks in the wall as big as craters. Not recommended at all

An average food place with average food taste. Please dont order Calamary fry and chicken clear soup. Calamary has masala outside but inside its just plain! And chicken clear soup is not a soup at all, chicken meat soaked in alot of green chilli water!

The Curry - Where hygiene meets flavor! Impeccable cleanliness and attentive service set the stage for a culinary journey with a spicy twist. The serene atmosphere adds to the dining experience. Don't miss the Japan chicken; it's an absolute must-try and stands out as the highlight. In terms of pricing, it falls somewhere in the middle. However, a minor improvement could be keeping the menu updated to avoid disappointments when a favored item isn't available. #TheCurry #SpiceUpYourLife 🥘🍗💰

Clean hygiene and good service, food is on the spicy side. A lunch for 6 can cost 2K INR. Good taste if you can handle spicy food. Limited fish variety. 2 different days three different fish dishes used the same fish. Good location, close to sea, but cannot see the beach from the restaurant.

Although slightly pricier than other eateries, the quality of food served here is exceptional and definitely worth every cent invested.

Daylight thieves . Size of portion was very small and cost was double. And had nothing in the name of taste. Just 4 puris in sev puri’.It had heavy food colouring and charged 115 for it. Masala dosa was undercooked. Waiter brought our food with his fingers in it Children were employed as waiters.(Child labour). Health inspectors should take care but they must have been bribed heavily too. When we confronted the man at the cash counter he didn’t care. All thanks to Tamil Nadu government

Situated close to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, the hotel is ideal spot for tourists. The view from the room of the Rock memorial is a feast to the eyes. Rooms are spacious and clean. Service is prompt. Food is good especially sea food. There is a bar available for tipplers. Room service is also available for those who do not want to visit the bar.Buffet breakfast is good a combination of both southern and northern dishes. However you will be awakened quite early in the morning by services in the Church that is at a stone throw distance away. The use of public address system by the Church when conducting services could be disturbing. Well a pleasant stay...

Had dinner from this place. Tried crispy fried lamb, dragon chicken, spring roll, grilled chicken, naan and other chicken gravy items shared between 7 of us. Most of them tasted the same. On asking about the similar taste to the staff, i was told that "all Chinese items tastes the same" !!!!! Spring roll even had a bit of stale smell. Food is no good and took so long to serve that we got enough time to go out, get the "sea view" and do a pretty long photoshoot. Cursing the decision to come eat at this pathetic place. Full waste of money and most importantly time.

The only worthwhile thing about the place is the view of the ocean. Food took abnormally long, we were given one item at a time instead of together and had to ASK for them to bring it together (we didn't get it, but we asked). The manager apologized to us, then went to the table right next to ours to tell them about how such people just come to start drama (the table behind had gotten their order incorrect after a 45 minute wait). PLEASE stay away.

Bad experiences. The shaved headed (bald) service supervisor with his artificial English accent thinks he is very smart. He gives many people a humiliating experience. Just because of him do not visit the restaurant. Also, with this small platter which did cost over ₹500 there, he didn’t even give some tomato sauce with the French fries. When asked, he gave 2 pouches of ₹1. An example of ‘you can’t buy class with money’ 😂

Served cold vada and took time to bring a cup of coffee.. while in court road branch I'm always welcomed with a smile and gives a positive feel. One more thing I cannot sit where I want to.. I have to sit only where the waiters tell me to sit. They asked me to shift to another table. Stop this rudeness and treat customers well.
