BAPS Akshardham Temple | Gandhinagar

Mentioned on
Hindu temple
Pilgrimage place
Place of worship
The BAPS Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar is a contemporary 10-story Hindu temple renowned for its intricately carved sandstone facade and nightly water and laser shows. It is considered one of the top tourist attractions in Gujarat due to its exceptional maintenance, stunning gardens, and delicious food options available on site. The temple's night-time water show is a marvel of technology.
One of the best artificial places to visit in Gujarat. The temple is huge and yet very very well managed and handled. The gardens are beautifully carved. It also has food facilities inside campus and food is pretty good. There also is water show during night times which in my eyes is a technical achievement. But the best thing about the campus is that they don't allow camera or cell phone inside. So you can actually enjoy your time when you are inside. Love it ... what a wonderful place .... peace ✌🏻

The atmosphere here is so nice that you feel like going back home. You don't feel like going back home. Here is a very nice ride for children. Here is the real Swaminarayan Lord. What is the leisure inside here? Jai Swaminarayan I have taken this photography by taking a screenshot, I have not taken the photography but whoever has taken this photography has taken a very nice photo. This is a beautiful and fun temple located inside Gandhinagar City.

Just an amazing place to visit. I have visited the temple at night and the beauty of lights was mesmerizing. Not a place to visit as a devotee of particular religion, but a place to have peace of mind. If you go there and don't see the water show, you have missed a big part of enjoyment! Please watch the water show which starts at night. That was the combination of technology and holiness! Nice refreshments available. In short, loved the place.

The monument is nice and well-maintained. But the staff's behavior is not good. I do not understand why photography is not accepted. The only photo you can get is by paying 100 per photo, which you can not even see. The behaviour of the staff should be improved.

Open Tue to sun....closed on Monday ...very peaceful and beautiful place with wide range of plants and greenaries ....rides and fountain show (from 7.15pm...age13+ 100₹ below 70₹)are also there. If you want to visit peacefully then avoid going on sunday and it would take 3 4 hrs easily ..no electric gadgets allowed ...many stalls and dhabhas around there.

Grand great place Historical Temple Every one should visit here who cames nearby ahemdabad and Gandhinagar Gujarat
Paramjeet Bishnoi — Google review
Very easy to reach the temple. There is ample bike/car parking, and it's cheap. Note that before entering all electronics; phone, smartwatch, headphones etc plus big bags need to be kept in a locker. They take a picture of the depositor before giving the token which makes it safer while collecting. Carry cash or card to buy food inside. Food options include all kinds of snacks, Jain food, Punjabi food and Gujarati food. Coming to the temple, it is an absolute piece of art. Every stone is carved with hand with utmost love & devotion. There is no entry charge for the main temple and the painting gallery. But exhibitions are chargeable 60 per adult. There are 5 exhibitions which are a bit lengthy so I suggest that you visit around 3-4pm so you come out of the exhibition hall just in time to watch the water and laser show.

Akshardham in Gandhinagar is a captivating spiritual and cultural destination. The architectural grandeur of the main temple is awe-inspiring, reflecting intricate craftsmanship and devotion. The expansive campus provides a serene environment for reflection and prayer. The exhibition inside offers an insightful journey through the teachings of Swaminarayan and the cultural heritage of India. The beautifully landscaped gardens add to the tranquility of the surroundings. The staff's hospitality and informative guides enhance the visitor experience. Akshardham Gandhinagar is not just a place of worship but a cultural gem, making it a must-visit for those seeking a blend of spirituality and architectural marvel.

Amazing service they give. Very well managed. Very respectful. Best food service in Premvati restaurant. We went on school trip and it is most memorable trip. Unfortunately for security reasons No Mobile or cameras are allowed so we don’t have any photos. Must see last movie and Fountain show.
hemal mehta — Google review
It is one of the most magnificent and beautiful temple inside and outside. The reason I'm saying from inside is that the museum/gallery is underground and it is rhe most beautiful part. Also they show you the whole life story of the God through films/sound effects etc. And the best part is they don't allow mobile phones inside so your whole focus is towards learning about the place not clicking pictures.

Beautiful experience. The entire journey at the painting and musieum gallery is awesome. Top notch security and other facilities that were hassle free. A souvenir shop adds to the touch. Photography is strictly not allowed inside.

Trimandir, Adalaj

Sights & Landmarks
The Trimandir in Adalaj is a non-denominational temple complex that features a central fountain and marble statue, as well as a museum and mini-theater. The concept of bringing together multiple deities under one roof is appealing, although it's not set up for traditional puja rituals. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only takeaway meals are available for lunch and dinner at Rs. 70, with the option of trying the Samrasi meal for Rs.
Beautiful vibes and peaceful chants makes this temple more awesome. This temple has more open area where you can sit and have your own time. Temple also has canteen which provides tasty and good quality food.

During my visit to this temple, I experienced a sense of comfort akin to being at home, owing to the meticulous attention to detail at the facility. Noteworthy features included the strategically chosen white color on the stairs to mitigate heat during summer, as well as the exemplary standards of hygiene and cleanliness maintained throughout the premises.

As expected, serene and peaceful place. I liked the concept of bringing together multiple deities together at a place. You can sit and pray, however it is not like a typical temple where you can do puja. Due to COVID, lunch and dinner are only available as takeaways for Rs. 70. You can also try Samrasi meal for Rs. 200/240

A spiritual place, worth visiting. The visionary of the spiritual Path of Akram Science Mr. Ambalal Muljibhai Patel, and post his enlightenment who is known as Dada Bhagwan is the motivation behind this beautiful temple. This temple beautifully merges the Jain vision with the Vaishnav vision. There is a book counter where books in Gujarati, Hindi, and English languages related to Akram Vignan are available.
Gaurang Sheth — Google review
The temple offers a captivating and picturesque view that is truly enchanting. A visit here provides a deeper understanding of the temple's purpose, as it embodies the coexistence of Jain Samaj, Vaishnav Samaj, and Shiv Samaj within the same courtyard, in line with its name. The Tri Mandir stands as a testament, with three temples harmoniously situated together, offering a profound connection to the divine. The temple's inscriptions emphasize unity, happiness, humanity, and devotion, urging visitors to embrace these values. Additionally, the temple offers paid dining facilities, allowing guests to enjoy a meal. With its serene ambiance and stunning surroundings, one can comfortably spend an hour to an hour and a half here, soaking in the scenic beauty.

Beautiful religious place to visit with family. The temple was built in 1975 by Dada Bhagwan a spiritual leader. The temple is located in Adalaj, Gujarat which is about 20 kms from Ahmedabad. The temple is open to all people, regardless of their religion or beliefs. The temple complex includes a museum, a library, and a meditation hall. This temple has more open area and gardens where you can sit and can enjoy with family and friends. Temple also has canteen which provides tasty and good quality food. Also there is AC resturant available. Only one problem at this place is people entered and touched god without pooja clothes.

The unique architectural marvel combines three major religious traditions – Jainism, Shaivism, and Vaishnavism. The serene ambiance and intricate design make it a peaceful retreat for visitors seeking spiritual solace. The central hall, adorned with ornate carvings and a meditative atmosphere, adds to the overall charm of Trimandir Adalaj. Whether you're a devotee or an architecture enthusiast, this harmonious blend of diverse religious elements makes it a noteworthy stop.

Dandi Kutir Museum is an interactive museum built in the shape of a salt mound that showcases the life story of Mahatma Gandhi. The architecture of the museum is impressive with a large circular pyramid structure. Visitors need to present their COVID vaccination certificate and ID card for entry, paying an admission fee of 10 rupees. Bags and photography are prohibited inside the museum.
Very nice place with nice architecture. It has a big circular pyramidal structure. One needs COVID vaccination certificate and some ID card. Entry fee is 10 rupee. Bags and photos are not allowed inside. This is about life of Mahatma Gandhi. Nice movies, projections, various pictures, all in one place. However, the main emphasis is on the early life of Mahatma Gandhi. It would have been better if the later part is highlighted as well.
Sumanta Chakraborty — Google review
Good Place to spend 4-5 hours. Photography inside is not allowed but you can take pictures outside Kutir. Souvenir shop and food court is there to enjoy. You can also check upon library for related literature. Good experience for history lovers.

It's one of a kind museum ✨️ so interactive and top notch. Was really amazed to see it for the first time. Good use of technology to make it interesting to the people. Recommended for all age groups. School students should must visit it for better understanding about the glimpse of our country's freedom fight . The ticket price is so nominal ,it's just 10₹ for adults. Bags are not allowed, you have to submit it in the Baggage counter. only mobile, wallet and water bottles are allowed. NoTe: you can't click photos inside the premises ( inside the stupa, salt mount inspired one) . The staff is so good. The exhibition show starts from 3rd floor to second and first ...seniors citizens can use lifts while coming down instead of stairs. The museum is physically challenged friendly. Even the washrooms are very clean. The entire show takes around an hour , so be patient and go with the flow... Definitely worth a visit .

One suggestion, if you want to really know all the information and want to read it,try to go on between Tuesday to Friday because in Saturday-sunday there is a lot of people out there. Also, garden and other facilities like food, library , rest rooms are also available. We can stay there for a moment and enjoy the peaceful environment.

It is a 3 floor museum showcasing Mahatma Gandhi’s journey from his birth. His work in South Africa and India. The Entry fees is nominal. They provide us headphones before entering the museum. The place is kept clean and tidy. Also they have a small cafe to have snacks. You can see the place around. It is very spacious and next to Gandhi Nagar Railway Station. Also, there is a huge lawn with benches around to sit and relax.

If you think museums are boring, then this place is for you (to change your mind) I didn't expect much going on because museums in India aren't that amazing, that's the sad truth. But this was genuinely a unique experience. If anyone is visiting Gujarat then this is a must visit place. The audio-visual experience is just so interactive and fun and educational all in one. 10/10 would recommend. The narration and details combined with so much modern technology did such a beautiful retelling of our history, many things we tend to forget as we grow up, it can bring up some emotions! Tickets were also extremely cheap for the superb experience.

Dandi Kutir Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in learning about the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi. The museum is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and is shaped like a mound of salt, a nod to Gandhi's famous Salt March. The museum is divided into four floors, each of which tells a different story about Gandhi's life and legacy. The ground floor explores the concept of satyagraha, or nonviolent resistance, which Gandhi used to great effect in his fight for Indian independence. The first floor focuses on Gandhi's national satyagraha campaigns, such as the Salt March. The second floor tells the story of Gandhi's community satyagraha campaigns, which were aimed at improving the lives of the poor and marginalized. The third floor explores Gandhi's domestic satyagraha campaigns, which were focused on issues such as untouchability and communal harmony. In addition to the exhibits, the museum also features a number of interactive displays that allow visitors to learn more about Gandhi's life and work. There is also a theater that shows a short film about Gandhi's life. Dandi Kutir Museum is a well-designed and informative museum that does a great job of telling the story of Mahatma Gandhi. The exhibits are engaging and informative, and the interactive displays are a great way to learn more about Gandhi's life and work. I highly recommend visiting Dandi Kutir Museum if you are interested in learning more about Gandhi or Indian history.

Very innovative and creative way to learn about Gandhi’s life and impact. I especially loved the unique incorporation of visual displays with smart audio. The only drawback was that the timed tickets made it feel a bit rushed, as the whole group had to move together. And sometimes the audio did not sync up, or some displays were skipped since people finished them at different times.

It's good you can get a brief about Mahatma Gandhi ji life, but then you will want to know more about freedom struggle and 1.5 hrs is not enough. But anyways technology used is advance and good. I recently visited Dandi Kutir and had a fascinating experience at the museum. Upon entering, we were provided with receivers and headphones, which added an interactive element to the tour. The lift ride to the museum was smooth, and upon arrival, the abundance of exhibits was impressive. The visuals within Dandi Kutir were captivating, with well-crafted interiors enhancing the overall ambiance. The collection of paintings, statues, and models was not only extensive but also of high quality. The integration of modern technology was efficient, making the museum experience both educational and enjoyable. One standout feature was the effective use of the Bluetooth/wifi system. As we approached different exhibits, the receiver and headphones automatically provided historical information and stories, enhancing the depth of understanding about each display. The seamless synchronization between the sender and receiver added a dynamic layer to the tour. The utilization of screen projection was particularly noteworthy. The visual aids complemented the exhibits, providing a comprehensive and engaging narrative. This thoughtful integration of technology contributed to an immersive and informative visit. Overall, Dandi Kutir, with its visually appealing displays, well-designed interiors, and clever use of modern technology, offers a rich and enjoyable museum experience. The combination of historical insights, captivating visuals, and efficient audio guidance makes it a must-visit for those interested in history and technology.

Very picturesque… very green… very raw yet all the properties developing there has an elegant taste. Good thing is that the natural instincts of the land has to be kept intact while developing any property there hence preserving the natural look and feel. The club house food is good. As it turns dark you feel you are in a forest land. In day time especially in good monsoon there is a river bed that the property has in its backyard which could be a very soothing and peaceful experience. But you should stay a day or two for that.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Aloha Hills Resort, and I must say it was an overall good experience. The resort offers a serene and picturesque setting, perfect for those seeking a relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of my stay was the food. The meals served at the resort's restaurant were of good quality and satisfying. The menu offered a decent variety of dishes, and the flavors were enjoyable. However, I wouldn't say the food was excellent, as there were a few dishes that fell short of my expectations. Nevertheless, the attentive and friendly staff made up for any shortcomings. The resort itself is well-maintained, with beautiful gardens and well-appointed accommodations. During my stay, I had the opportunity to explore the resort's facilities. The swimming pool was clean and inviting, and there were plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for relaxation. One aspect that stood out to me was the exceptional customer service provided by the staff. They were always polite, professional, and ready to assist with any queries or requests. Their hospitality truly enhanced my stay and made me feel valued as a guest. Although my experience at resort was generally positive, there were a few minor areas that could be improved. There should be rest facilities for the Day Guest.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Aalloa Hill resort. The rooms are spacious, and the entire property is surrounded by lush greenery. It is a treat for those who love nature. We spotted peacocks, bulbuls, a kingfisher, among other birds. There is a small camel cart ride, which is fun. You can click photos with the camel as well. There is also a small valley where you can go trekking. Preferably should be done at 4 pm or in morning. A little further, you have the Sabarmati river, and the property near it has been developed beautifully. You dont get to go all the way to the river, but you can see it. This spot is a must visit in the morning, to see the sun rising from the hills. The in-house restaurant is good and serves punjabi and traditional gujarati cuisine. I would advise the latter. Food is excellent. Network can get a little sketchy, so you might not get internet connection. However, you can get wifi near reception. Overall, this is an excellent place for a one day picnic or a staycation over a weekend.

This is a vegetarian restaurant with a good ambience, awesome food & good service. Wide variety of North Indian, Thai, Mexican, continental & a few more. A bit expensive but certainly worth trying. I recommend this place.

Best food in Adalaj tri mandir campus. The only option is to have dinner after 9 pm in this area is this restaurant or the highway Dhaba type restaurants which is not a healthy option. Must visit once.

Exellent taste with high quality fresh ingredients. Premium, very responsive and quick service. Calm and soothing atmosphere and interior. I was prepared to wait for food after order but it didn't take as long as normally other restaurants do. Might be a bit costly for a middle class student party. Tables are mostly available without waiting in normal days but very full in DBF events and many other private events of some commercial company or communities

Decent Food, green chutney made by them not ok, Dhokla also not authentic Gujrati style, overall average.

Fine dining restaurant
Spices and Herbs is a chic rooftop restaurant located in a central area near government offices. The restaurant offers a modern, natural interior with the option to dine in an air-conditioned room or outside on the terrace. The ambiance is praised for its good decor, interesting lighting, and comfortable furniture. Customers can enjoy a large semi-open rooftop area with cool breezes and nice views in the evening.
In Brief- Good: Location - very good Ambience - Good decor and Interesting lighting. Hygiene - looked clean Food - very tasty and well presented Tired and hungry we checked the TA reviews and this looked tops. Turned out to be a good choice. Location In central location near to the government offices. It's in a mediocre shopping area. Ambience Good furniture and decor. Nice materials and lighting with good use of natural looking materials. There is a large semi open roof top area. There are two AC area with glass walls. Music is bearable but the usual TV with cricket was there. This is always a distraction for the waiters so we told them RK change the channel. The toilet was clean but completely inaccessible from a wheelchair. Food Excellent preparation, quality ingredients and good flavour. We had a paneer dish, some jeera rice and some dal. Apart from the jeera rice being too oily the food was tasty and in good proportions. The best part of the meal was the stuffed mushrooms. This was excellent. The chaas turned out to be more of a lassi but it was well prepared. Service From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent. Very kind, polite and attentive. Seeing how Gandhinagar was generally very low class we were expecting less of the place.
Shivam Singh — Google review
Spices and herbs is great restaurant. The ambiance is wonderful. You can choose if you want to sit in AC room or outside. The food is fantastic. The staff is responsive but still can get better. The prices are a but high and quantities of some dishes is not as much as it should be although the quality and the taste of the food is amazing. The place is clean and you can enjoy some cool breeze and nice view in the evening as it is situated on top of the building. I can recommend this place for anyone who really wants to enjoy different cuisines.

Ambience is good two sitting area open outdoor and indoor AC. Food quality is good. As per price quantity is also good. We have ordered pina colada and fruit punch and both were not so much sweet dat was the best part. Hakka noddles was also tasty and yummy. But thai curry is not upto mark. Rest food is good.

I recently had the opportunity to try Pooja Live Dhokla, a well-known fast food restaurant that specializes in dhokla and other snacks. The iDhokla at this establishment was absolutely delightful, with an impeccable combination of texture and flavor. It is easy to understand why they have gained such fame for their dhoklas. However, it is important to note that there were some concerns regarding hygiene within the restaurant premises.
I personally love the dhokla with the chutneys and dahi sev puri 😍
Yesha Upadhyaya — Google review
Employees have such an attitude that they don't inform you when your order is ready.they assume that You will magically know about it and will pickup/receive your order. Dhokla is so soft that it breaks apart while picking by hand. Then how can we dip it in chutney and have it?

A dhokla and snacks place near Reliance Cross road, its a go go place for street food, budget friendly and good tatste, ordered Dhokla and butter Dabeli,Dhokla was good but i liked Dabeli more.they served 2 type of Chatni but didnt liked that.

Pioneer of Live Dhokla in Gandhinagar... Excellent food. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely fine for Brunch. Highly recommended !!!!
Dr Wajid Saiyed — Google review
We bought hot dhokla from this place which comes with red garlic chutney and some oil is sprinkled over the dhokla.. The taste is delicious. Their other items are equally tasty such as dabeli, vadapav etc. The place has just some chairs in the open so having it during the day time is little inconvenience as that might become hot during the summer. Evenings and weekend are crowded as people throng to this place. Go for it.
Manish Mankad — Google review
Dhokla and green chatni were nice. Basket chat was ok. It would have been better if there was a nice sitting place. Overall nice food (Dhokla). Nice for parcels.

Okayish. Dhokla were good, but chutney tasted weird. Dahi sev puri could have been better.

I recently tried Pooja Live Dhokla and was blown away by their delicious iDhokla! The texture and flavor were perfect, and I can see why this restaurant is famous for its Dhokla. However, I did notice a hygiene problem in the restaurant. While the food was great, the cleanliness of the area could have been better. Overall, I would still recommend Pooja Live Dhokla for their amazing Dhokla, but I hope they can improve their hygiene standards in the future

Continental restaurant
The Waterside Restaurant offers a diverse menu of Continental and Asian cuisine in an outdoor riverside setting accompanied by fountains and mood lighting. It is renowned for being a favorite spot for candlelight dinners, date nights, as well as family and couple outings. The establishment boasts both indoor and outdoor seating options, carefully selecting the finest dishes from around the world. Sanitization and hygiene practices are top-notch, ensuring optimal cleanliness.
Waterside is under construction, we went to the garden restaurant Piparade which serves candle light dinner. Atmosphere and Service were on point. Food quality was good but they can improvise the taste. The taste of the pina colada drink was fantastic. Olive garlic naan fell short of expectations, as it turned out soggy and lacked flavor.

This place is my favorite for candle light dinner and date night. Place serve family and couples too. They have outdoor and indoor tables and have picked best food items from all around the world. Sanitization and hygiene is at it's best. One star is less just because I love one dish and I feel the taste was changed

Location is beautiful. You can have long walk in a calm environment along Narmada canal. Their deck facing Narmada canal and Sunset is amazing. But restaurant serves only Lunch & Dinner. No tea-coffee or snacks so it becomes boring.

We were a group of 14 people who attended Pravasi Gujarati Parva. The food was nice. Service good. Located adjacent to Narmada canal on S.G. Highway, hence superb location. Enjoed Candle light dinner. Little crowded when we visited on Sunday night. Best place to revisit. 👍

Food is good but not to next level which attract you time by time and too much mosquitoes are biting you continuously also they are very poor in service we had to told them repeatedly but they didn't consider.

White sauce pasta must try, seven layer snacks must try, soups were good, Pizzas really good, Rabdi jalebi too good, especially rabdi so fresh and authentic, loved all the food..... 👌

Food is Average. Atmosphere is Superb. Located close to river side. Ambience is also nice. Preferred because of long drive from center of city. In the monsoon season outdoor dining is closed. You can enjoy private party on the upper Desk. If I compare to the Soulmate for Date Night than Waterside may be quite low on that because poor quality of food. Only because of location and outside to city buzz preferred .

Thank main restaurant is under renovation. But the garden restaurant and rooftop restaurant is working. Nicely managed with the limited space available. It's on the side of the Narmada canal so it has good sight also. In night lighting it looks beautiful. Food quality and test are good. Service is good. Parking available.
