Place de la Bourse

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The 18th century landmark Place de la Bourse in Bordeaux is a large and beautiful public square with intricate architecture that was built to modernize the city. It is especially noted for its elegant marble facades and vast reflecting pool. Today, it houses the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This is a wonderful place to visit. This square dates back to the 18th century and is symbolic of the beauty of Bordeaux. It is outside the original fortification walls of the city and is on a wide open space, next to the river Garonne. It is encircled by some amazing, historic buildings, it is the location of the Water Mirror and the views all around are magical. Just wonderful place to enjoy with your family.
Marko Vugrinec — Google review
Here at dusk, we saw loads of photographers and thinking it would evolve into some kind of fountain show, we waited, and waited as the water drained and returned.... I asked another 'watcher ' if anything else happened and he told me there was a fog to come - a bit later he said after googling it, that it had been cancelled through Covid and never reinstated so who knows 🤷‍♀️. A pretty place but not spectacular.
Teresa Sorokin — Google review
Place de la Bourse is a masterpiece of urban design that graces the banks of the Garonne River in Bordeaux. This iconic square, framed by the stunning classical architecture of the 18th century, is a visual delight. The square is not just a historic landmark; it's a dynamic space that captures the essence of Bordeaux's architectural splendor and invites locals and visitors alike to savor the charm of this picturesque destination.
Zongle — Google review
Beautiful place to visit, especially after dark when you can see the mirror of the building.
Shai Nissan — Google review
Elegant building. Large Inch-deep pool across the road. Maybe the pool is a mirror at night, however it was full of kids having a whale of a time during the day.
Trevor Jee — Google review
One of them locations that photos don't really do it justice so if you are in the area go there and see it the way it was meant to be viewed, there is a tram stop right outside just have to step off and take it all in, little tip walk up the small street on the right for some Bordeaux old town atmosphere
Steve Clark — Google review
Bordeaux is a beautiful city to visit and there is so much to see and do, you should probably have to stay for a few days to see all the highlights!
Gerrit Dollekens — Google review
Incomparable views with majestic buildings on one side and the Dordogne on the other, under a beautiful sky. Kids and adults alike will enjoy cooling their feet and taking pictures at the reflecting pool.
Shuhong — Google review
Very picturesque iconic area of Bordeaux. Only a quick visit required but nothing bad to say about the area.
William Frankson — Google review
Beautiful architecture on a great Friday evening. Parts under construction but still great to see this in person.
Ash Miller — Google review
Bit cool today but we avoided the rain. Very pleasant open square
Graeme Debenham — Google review
Very beautiful and great. It’s large and with a good view.
Matteo Fu — Google review
BEAUTIFUL EVEN UNDER CONSTRUCTION When I visited Bordeaux's most famous buildings, some of it was under construction and there was no water in the fountain. That didn't ruin what was otherwise a memorable visit to the Place de la Bourse. It's a nice square to hang around in and looks even better at night. Admittedly, you can't really visit the inside (not that I'm aware?) but it's nice to visit.
Ninh Ly — Google review
This is a square landmark for the town, where everybody comes here for view of the town and the river, and it's an amusement park for kids to play with fountain. The tram stop here as well, just right next to the walking area.
Pasan Sensouk — Google review
Nice place to visit and spend time in the evening.
Raj G — Google review
It's just beautiful and worth visiting at different times of the day.
Debbie Walker — Google review
The city is wonderful, full of beautiful buildings. The square has an extremely beautiful and famous fountain. Unfortunately, taking pictures is difficult because it is always full of people. We really enjoyed the square and the whole city during our visit.

Musée du Vin et du Négoce de Bordeaux

This museum offers a fascinating look into wine production and trade from centuries ago in Bordeaux. It showcases tools and materials used in the 2000 years of wine production, as well as various wine tastings to make the visit more interesting. It also has a private masterclasses programme available all year round in English.
Fantastic experience with the museum. The wine tasting and history tour went for over an hour and Mr Eric was fabulous. The rest of the team were very helpful as well. The history was depicted fabulous and I had a really good insight into the wine history of the city.
Emily Robinson — Google review
We went here for a Masters of Bordeaux course organized through Viking River cruises. It was very well executed and we learned a lot at the session. Wines were very and trying a Chateau D'Yquem was an unexpected bonus
Neil Law — Google review
A great hidden gem, yes it's not the biggest museum you'll ever ever visit. But the interact audio is great and really informative. We learnt lots about the local area and wine making. The 10 euro fee also includes the tasting of two wines and 2 extra sweet treats, which makes it great value for money. Chloe was ace!
Gary Forrest — Google review
The tour of the museum is interesting, but the explanation given during the wine tasting makes the visit worth it.
Sari Abi-Akar — Google review
I visited the Wine Museum while on a solo trip exploring Bordeaux. It was beautiful! So fascinating to learn about all the history, dating so far back. The wine tasting at the end was presented by Éric, who did a fabulous job😊 since it was just me, he explained and presented everything so well in English. Very informative, easy to understand, added fun humour in at times and made the entire experience so enjoyable 😊 thank you so much!! Very grateful for my experience there 😊
Hannah McPherson — Google review
Great experience to get to know Bordeaux wines and how they evolved throughout the years. It's a hidden gem that should be visited. The wine tasting you have 2 or 3 wine options. We had 2 young and thirsty wines from the region with floral and citric aromas. One fairly aged wine 7 years that was also very tasty.
selin cokgul — Google review
We loved our tour of the museum. We actually preferred it to the big modern one. Some amazing history and the wine tasting at the end was excellent. We learnt a lot. Highly recommend ❤️👍
Tim Donovan — Google review
Beautiful small wine museum. Entrance is only 10€ and is followed by a small wine tasting of two wines. It is possible to do the tasting in english which is preceded by a broad and very helpful introduction into the Bordeaux wine regions.
Simon — Google review
Great museum - super interesting about the history of the Bordeaux region from its infancy. Nice dégustation at the end, with unusual wines, which offers a change vs the other more classical visits, and a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Super cheap.
C — Google review
Small but very interesting exhibition of the history of wine in Bordeaux. Situated in the original cellars, it is very authentic. Interesting wine tasting session, informative but low end wines. Recommended
Valerie D — Google review
You'll find this little gem on your wine tour of Bordeaux, hidden along the cobbled roads. This museum will take you back to the history of wine, with some amazing books that record the wine makers and sales, to machinery and old bottles going back years. Just being in the old cellar and seeing the wines and wooden casks takes you back to one amazing industry from the start.
Ian Robinson — Google review
Kind staff, good explanations about the wine regions and the museum is small but the experience is nice. A lot of mold as it is a cellar though (consider it if you're allergic)
Rafael Meza-Padilla — Google review
Actually we loved this one even more than the Cite du Vin. This one is quite small, but it's more about trade and Bordeaux than overall wine world. The guided tasting exceeded our expectations and was fun and informative. The merch is also fun! And for the price of the ticket it's a bargain.
Lana Svitankova — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Musée du vin et du Negoce de Bordeaux! Unlike larger, modern museum, this gem focused specifically on the Bordeaux region and its rich wine culture. The wine tasting experience was exceptionally well done, allowing me to truly appreciate the flavors of the region. Highly recommend for wine enthusiasts looking for an authentic Bordeaux experience!
Brian Javorski — Google review
Small but nice, the wine tasting experience is the highlight of this place the staff are so lovely the setting is cool inside old wine cellars too
Holly B — Google review
This authentic museum is found off the beaten track. I enjoyed the beautiful details you can find about wine making within cellars. Staff is helpful. €10 per adult which includes wine tasting of two wines. Highly recommended for any wine lovers
Melanie Kets — Google review
Wonderful small wine museum that gives you the history of Bordeaux and the wine industry that flourished there. It’s quite a small place but the price properly reflected that and was a good place to go! Properly enjoyed myself and learned a lot; the final wine tasting was a nice touch and helped to further learn about the difference between the regions

Miroir d'eau

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Miroir d'eau, also known as the 'Water Mirror', is a large reflecting pool located in front of the Place de la Bourse in Paris. The pool is one of the world's largest and offers stunning reflections of nearby buildings during warm sunny days. Every half-hour, dense foggy vapours are ejected to add to the fun (and photo opportunities).
Bordeaux is a Lovely place We did not see it during the night but the view is Stunning. 😍 Beautiful place a must visit. Come with your kids ,friends or just come alone to relax and enjoy The classical architecture of France
Gladys juralbal — Google review
Such an amazing site! You just have to wait for the perfect timing where there is no wind and the water reflection is still to capture the mirror effect. We had to visit several times just to get the perfect shot. Too bad there is some construction covering on the left side of the building but it is still okay. Amazing architecture, amazing plaza!
Renz L — Google review
Sunny weekend by the square in front of Miroir d’eau. A lot of people jogging, sitting by the staircase, relaxing with love ones. We took the boat to enjoy the view
Jessie Ong — Google review
A big free attraction in Bordeaux! A place very interesting in front the elegant place (Place de la Bourse). Childs and adult walk on and play on the water. Beautiful place for shooting photo, in the morning and at the sunset..
sergio — Google review
A place to cool off during the strangulating summers. Great for kids and adults who get hot.
Michael Kennedy — Google review
So I visited in April but apparently it doesn't work from October to April to protect the pipe system from having frozen water inside it. It is said to be the largest water mirror in the world! Would've loved to see it!!
Fatin Al — Google review
Very cool effect. Make sure to stay long enough to have the water fill the basin, then drain. The full mirror effect does not occur until almost drained.
Brian Butenschoen — Google review
It's really cool. Fills with water maybe every twenty mins, then ripples for a while before reducing to become a mirror. Really good photos, free to enter, not too crowded. Ruined slightly by the number of trams in between the mirror and buildings
Simon Heffernan — Google review
Miroir d'eau is an enchanting marvel! The water mirror's reflection creates a mesmerizing and dreamlike ambiance. A must-visit attraction, perfect for relaxing strolls and capturing stunning photos. Loved it!" Personally, I think the best time to visit on sunny days and night time to see the real beauty.

The Miroir d'eau in Bordeaux is a captivating water feature between Place de la Bourse and the Garonne River. Its mirror effect, reflecting the surrounding architecture, creates a stunning visual experience. Recommended for visits at different times to enjoy the changing scenery, it offers both a refreshing escape during the day and a magical, illuminated spectacle at night, seamlessly blending modernity with tradition in the heart of Bordeaux.
Anne Fiteni — Google review
Lovely installation! The moment when the water reflects the surroundings is the most beautiful one. If you visit this place, you'll find kids running through the waters, people dancing around the area and even singing. It's just a lovely place to spend your afternoon or evening. There's tons of places to sit and enjoy a glass of wine if you wish to~
tanya s — Google review
Interesting mirror made of water. The concept is nice and would be extremely cool at dawn and night. The place could become a bit overcrowded at night, with some kids and people running and walking over the thin layer of water. Nice to see during a stroll of the city of Bordeaux.
Marco M — Google review
It's was pretty good, but the city is not too much huge + Parking problem Also
Mira Khan — Google review
This place is great. It is both a tourist attraction and a local attraction. While we were here it was super hot in July so many families were visiting the Mirrior. If you want good pictures go in the morning at 10 to avoid the crowds.
Kelly Clement — Google review
Unusual and clever shallow pool area in front of stunning architecture. Shallow pool for 25 minutes, then drains and a mist fog appear. Lovely place to cool down, take photos, and watch the world go by. Very clever and worth a visit
Valerie D — Google review
There is currently some construction that makes for a sad picture but it is otherwise a picturesque place to people watch, contemplate, and rest. Trams C And D stop right outside the attraction so access is not an issue except for 5 steps.

Cathédrale Saint-André de Bordeaux

Mentioned on
Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Cathedral of Bordeaux is a towering Romanesque cathedral dating to the 11th century, and hosting regular services and organ recitals. It is famous for having a separate and independent bell tower.
This is a lovely very large Cathedral that is a Bordeaux Landmark. Take your time to explore all of the historic section of this masterpiece. It was originated around the 11th Century and was the location of the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitaine to Louis VII of France. She of course became the mother of Richard the Lionhearted. The hundreds of years of history are reflected in the beauty of the stain glass, the architecture and the art.
Theresa Hoban — Google review
Lovely and spacious square. The cathedral is currently being restored and the large gilded statue has recently been placed on the spire. A lot of activity going around the plaza. Perfect spot for sunbathing and cultural attraction.
BLUEDOT Creative — Google review
Gothic Roman Style. A clock on an internal side wall is interesting. An Eagle as a podium unique.
Fredrik WESEMANN — Google review
While I was unable to fully explore the interior due to an ongoing mass, the experience left a lasting impression. Situated in the heart of Bordeaux, this majestic cathedral is a true testament to Gothic architecture and the rich history of the region. The intricate details of the facade, including the striking portals and magnificent stained glass windows, showcase the craftsmanship of a bygone era. The cathedral's spires reach toward the heavens, casting a dramatic silhouette against the Bordeaux skyline. Though my visit coincided with a religious service, I was able to catch a glimpse of the interior from the entrance. The soaring vaulted ceilings and ornate decorations hinted at the grandeur that lies within. The soft echoes of hymns and the flickering candlelight created a serene atmosphere, even from the threshold. Its exterior alone is a masterpiece, and I look forward to returning to explore the hidden treasures that lie behind its doors. Whether for religious contemplation or historical admiration, this architectural gem promises an enriching experience for all who enter.
Zongle — Google review
Great place tu visit. They are working on the restoration of the main organ. Bitraux are amazing (a must). Enjoy the place with time...
Federico S — Google review
Amazing architecture. Although it would have been better if they provide like an audio guide or a brochure about the history of the place. Alot of infrastructure as still being restored/fixed but it looks great.
Renz L — Google review
I had a tour with recorded guide from GYG app. The cathedral was dated in 15 Century AD. It was build by archbishop of Aquitaine and Bordeaux rev. Pey Berland. The cathedral has very interesting construction due to marshes along the river Garone. The Bell Tower was built separately for the reason that the bell can destroy the cathedral with the resonance. You can see the stained glasses and all the chapples. Great masters!
Daniela Bankova — Google review
Beautiful space but their large posters only cover their fundraising for their organ. Nothing about their history. For example, interesting change in column structure! But no info on it at all. I’d donate more if they were interested in educating me about this space. No public restrooms although nearby public one is closed. Seems a church should really be a bit more helpful to the general public. Ask for the pass sanitaire as do restaurants, if you wish- but serve the people.
Amy Lesemann — Google review
Toured central area of Bordeux, France. We found cool flea markets, the entire central area is largely built in gothic stone architecture, and a great beltway around the Garonne River full of people, food, and sites. Visited one of the most impressive cathedrals we've come across so far in the EU (Cathédrale Saint-André). Mind blowing site! This area is large, but for 5€ mass transport available by tram, bus, and boat. Too much to see in one day! 🤙
G Roberts — Google review
Stunning especially the design of the vaulted ceiling. How did they actually do that way back in the 1400s without MEWPS or cranes.!!
Des Campbell — Google review
SUPER CATHEDRAL There's lots of churches here in Bordeaux, but if you only have time for one, visit this one! Saint Andre Cathedral is really nice to visit, there are some amazing pictures you can take from the outside and the interior (whilst dark) looks very pretty. If you want some super cool pictures, come back at night and they light it up!
Ninh Ly — Google review
It was superb...one of the best cathedrals in Europe. Extremely nice architecture all over the cathedral. Don't forget to visit tour pey berland just at the back of the cathedral.
Aranya Sarkar — Google review
We came here during the day and walked around. Its a beautiful cathedral. But the temporary show they have gling on to raise money for the restoration of the church was one of the most incredible things I've experienced in recent memory. Thats not an exaggerated statement. We saw the light show which was the history of the cathedral and the music in it. I've added some videos here. All I can say is... if you get the chance in this or another cathedral, go do it. Absolutely incredible.
Jonathan Kraft — Google review
We were really blown away by this. There are so many beautiful churches in Bordeaux that we honestly didn't realize this was the cathedral. I know you may think that's a little strange but when you come visit you will get it. Nevertheless, make sure you get here. It is a beautiful place with a gorgeous tower. Unfortunately the tower was closed when we arrived so I couldn't give this a full five stars but may revise my review if we get to the tower and it is all that it is supposed to be.
John Sly — Google review
The photos speak for themselves ! Superb light show. Book a seat in the far end ideally. Arrive early for the best seats.
Jérôme André — Google review
Amazing cathedral of Gothic and Romanesque signatures. Deservingly a UNESCO heritage.
Joseph D'Souza — Google review
Very remarkable late gothic Cathedral. Impressive light from the interior. The organ is a masterpiece. It is very curious than the bell tower is apart from the rest of the Cathedral, and that is because the muddy nature of the ground in Bordeaux, that does not allow to overcharge too much an area. A Must see
carlos Martin — Google review
Beautiful Cathedral, old and historical. It's one of the important landmarks in Bordeaux. It's located in the center and everything is close to it. The tram station A B C D, is beside it. so, you can easily go there by tram from airport or anywhere you come.

Grosse Cloche

Mentioned on
Monument
Sights & Landmarks
The imposing Porte Saint-Eloi belfry, which dates back to the 15th century, is one of Bordeauxs last remnants from its medieval period. With its twin towers and huge bell, it has retained its splendour over the centuries. It was built on the remnants of the 13th-century Porte Saint-Eloy, a former gate in the old city walls.
Grosse Cloche is located a few minutes away from Victoire and Musée d’Aquitaine. It’s a well preserved medieval structure that comprises the classical style of Bordeaux. There are so many characteristic shops that sell cute and exotic home deco, clothing, or accessories along the alley leading to Grosse Cloche. You can sense the calmness and idyllic side of Bordeaux right after a turn from the busy shopping avenue in Victoire. It’s definitely a recommended district to take a walk around.
??? — Google review
We happened upon this area in the evening and the Grosse is very impressive at night with the lights and lively little streets. A must see in Bordeaux and if you can visit in the evening, even better.
Michelle Brenton — Google review
Impressive structure. Looks like it has been very well preserved. This is one of many historic gates into the city.

The Grosse Cloche of Bordeaux Is a famous landmark. The tower with the bell was dated in 15th century AD. It connects two side buildings and is above the street. It is part of the old city hall. A beautifully build with two golden clocks.

Amazing place. A must in Bordeaux (France).
Federico S — Google review
Lovely surprise of the Grosse Cloche in the narrow lane and lively street. The building consists of the medieval bell, city wall and the church is well restored. Register on the website of the tourism center if you wish to visit the interior.
BLUEDOT Creative — Google review
The old entrance into the old city which you must see. The area of shops and bars around is the most beautiful in Bordeaux
William Frankson — Google review
The architecture of the Grosse Cloche is impressive! The Church of Saint Eloi is right next to it, there you can learn about the city and the church history. The surrounding streets are very lively, with great restaurants and bars, making this one of the best places to visit in Bordeaux.
Mounira Maalouf — Google review
REALLY COOL! If you walk the streets, you'll come across this ancient gate with a clock and a giant bell. It's a beautiful place for pictures and videos and even more impressive at night. There's some nice eateries around there too, so it's worth visiting.
Ninh Ly — Google review
I didnt search for this place but I knew it already. And believe it or not, I found it accidentally :) which makes the "grosse cloche" my best. I tried to take the pictures for you, I tried to show you that made me love that place the most. I want to ride my horse to pass under where makes me feel like I am living in the medieval ages.

Fine dining restaurant
French restaurant
Le Pressoir d'Argent - Gordon Ramsay is an upscale establishment in Bordeaux that showcases elevated French cuisine made with local ingredients. The venue exudes elegance with its classic decor, including white tablecloths, velvet seats, and marble columns. The menu features a selection of exquisite dishes, such as the turbot Wellington with wild mushrooms and rich brown jus, the must-try pressed lobster with flambadou cooking technique served alongside Eysines potatoes and oscietra caviar.
Utterly sublime. Best Wellington I have ever had. Lovely to sit outside in the sun and watch the bustle of the square whilst enjoying incredible food
Trina — Google review
My husband and I had the most delicious dinner experience at Le Pressoir D'Argent. We had the 7 course dinner with wine pairings and the lobster...what a treat! The food was amazing, highlighting local products in a very creative way. We enjoyed every single dish and were surprised at the flavors of every one of them. The wine pairings worked beautifully well with every dishes and you can tell they spent some time thinking them through. The service was grandiose and at the same time relaxed. They made us feel very comfortable. It is always enjoyable when the ambiance isn't stuffy! I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, I know we will remember this anniversary dinner forever!
Aurelie Buisson Swartwood — Google review
An amazing experience from start to finish. The food was obviously fantastic, and the service was incredible. Extremely attentive, but very warm and friendly. I will definitely come back.
Keith — Google review
Let's start what we liked: the service is perfect. Out of the book. They could open a school for waiters. The building and the rooms are wonderful. They have a great choice of wines by glass. The sommeliers are very good. The prices of the bottles are very high (300-400% of shop price) but you have a very big choice of wonderful wines. The glasses match the wines and are of superior quality. Also of superior quality are the ingredients of the dishes and the savoir faire of the chef. All dishes arrive at the perfect point of cooking. Paradise for food lovers like us. Paradise and only 3 stars? We come to that... The pre-stater was a little piece of fish with a sauce. Very good. First course were some mules. Good for us. The mules were on some green mesh which we didn't like. But that's a question of taste. It could have worked for somebody else. The same with the choice of wine. A very good, rich white bordeaux. Too rich for our taste with that dish...we would have liked something lighter with a play of acid in it....but as we say a question of taste....Until now it was clear that the chef loves strong tastes. Next a oyster on a meat bed with a kind of light hollandaise. Perfect! Also the wine: 100% Sėmillon at it's best. Then the turbot. With wild champignon. Strong taste but very good. All dishes come with a fresh bread of divine quality. By the way we took the big menu with the wine paring. Additionally we took the lobster. It was prepared at the table with the famous press. Very entertaining and another piece of perfect waiter conduct. Yes the lobster....it was the first which didn't work out, at all. The main price of lobster was smoked. But way too much. It wasn't a an addition. It killed the taste of the lobster tail. The toast with lobster was good and the fine lobster pieces in a smoked sauce where very good. Here it worked out. Then the pintade. For me it was very good, my wife wasn't completely into it. The little piece of dark meat was very salty but still good. Now to the beef. The beef was really bloody as we like it! The meat has a very strong taste by itself. It was prepared BBQ style. I liked it, my wife didn't. One may ask the question if it wouldn't be better to let the meat speak for itself, because the BBQ sauce did more or less kill it. We think Mr. Ramsay has the maladie of the older chef. He needs more and more taste. We would liked it better if he had just underlined the superior taste and quality of his ingredients. Then cheese. Very good. Perfect service again. And perfect choice of wine. A good glass of burgundy. One of my soft spots 😍. Amuse bouche. Fruity and very good. Then a another bit of paradise: the vanilla dessert. Perfect, divine. A good glass of sweet wine from the Cape region and a glass of Château d'Yquem because we are gourmande...... Then the chocolate. Nice but again with some smoked stuff in the centre....too smoky for us. The little bite on the stick was with star anise. Too much of it. Ok you get the picture. Perfect service. Perfect wines. Perfect ingredients but over added with tastes that weren't necessary and sometimes killed the dish. But all in all a nice experience and an enjoyable evening.
K Kaiser — Google review
Impeccable service from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. The food was fantastic and I'd go back literally for just the homemade bread and butter. We ended up splurging for their signature lobster dish which, while a unique experience, did not live up to the rest of the food on the menu. Wine pairing though was definitely worth it. If we were to do it again, I'd recommend the 5 course menu (7 course plus lobster took us 4+ hours to finish which I think was just overkill for us) with wine pairing and pass on the lobster.
Justin Wear — Google review
Fantastic experience, the service was great and the food was delicious. The lobster and the white truffle where absolutely worth the extra.
Alexander Binder — Google review
Simply the best meal this woman has ever had hands down- best food, best white glove service best ambiance. It’s posh yet service is warm. I didn’t have the pressed lobster but a lot of people did. I did have the wine pairing which was well worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant! And try the 20 year old port! Devine!!
Lillian Proveaux Breitbart — Google review
Truly an unforgettable dining experience! We had an 8 course dinner with wine pairing. Each dish was exquisitely and delicatly flavored. The wines chosen by the sommelier were from some of the best vineyards. The serving staff acted in a very formal and respectful way towards every diner. I don't know the names of our servers but they were all wonderful. We engaged in a conversation with one of the servers whose name was Victor. He was warm and friendly, yet professional at all times. Le Pressoir d'Argent is a fantastic place to celebrate special occasions.
Stuart Weiss — Google review
Incredible presentation, service, wine list and quality of food. My husband and I have been to many fabulous restaurants all over the world and this one ranks as one of the best. We had an 8-course dinner with wine pairing. Lobster is a must! The best little portion I’ve ever had as far as texture and the combination of flavors. Loved the entire 5-hour experience. Well deserved Michelin stars!
Marysia Weiss — Google review
A stunning experience all around with amazing food and service. Definitely enjoyed every aspect of this and if we’re in town, we will definitely be back. As this is our second Michelin starred Gordon Ramsay restaurant, I have to say that he has no equal right now. Amazing how he can go from a simple burger joint to something that is unparalleled on the scene. As a note, our dinner service (7 courses, technically 10), took a little under 5 hours.
Sean M — Google review
We had the 5 course tasting menu with the lobster added on as a 6th course and the wine accompanies. In reality we had about 10 courses if you count the amuse-bouches, cheese course and pallet cleansers. Absolutely amazing, lived up to all the hype. Food and drinks where incredible, easily the best meal I have had! But what really made it special was the service- the staff where all so attentive. They even carried our drinks out to the smoking area on a silver tray. This restaurant has really considered every part of the dining experience and we will be back to try more of their amazing food when we visit Bordeaux again!
Victoria Baxter — Google review
Excellent food but very strong flavor so might not be suited for tourists with no exposure to french cuisine. Great service with attention to details
Nicolas Tahon — Google review
The service and food was top notch! We selected the Heritage menu (full tasting menu) and every course was excellent. One word of caution: the house made bread and butter from a dairy in Basque country is absolutely stunning, but take care that you don't over indulge or you'll struggle to finish the multiple desserts and mignardise. This is one of the better 2 Michelin star restaurants I've diner at, and I'm certain they could earn a third with a couple tiny adjustments.

Superbe service. We went there for my bday and I was more blown away by the service than the food. Don't get me wrong, the food was great but not all the dishes were to my taste. You can see and taste the delicacy in each dish. They had the delicate attention to prepare me a small candle white chocolate cake. My favorite. For this. A+++. Thanks for a great dinner.

The chef is a wizard with vegetables, service very attentive , sommelier Paul very considerate and attentive. They have a fresh approach which we enjoyed. We had a most enjoyable meal, would recommend.

The set lunch menu is an excellent bargain of high-quality cooking that is both reflective of local traditions and ingredients and looking outside for inspirations. Service is attentive yet casual, matching the ambiance of the restaurant. All in all, a great choice worthy of the (tiny) detour from the city center.

Food was excellent ( some of the best I've tried on the trip to France) and well portioned/balanced. Price extremely reasonable for the high quality. The people working in the restaurant are also very nice. To the sommelier (apprentice): ..sorry i didn't catch your name but I hope you like the Freynelle sauvignon blanc I told you that I really liked :)

Service was exceptionally good! Both the host and the sommelier were friendly, kind and helpful. We had the lunch tasting menu and it was amazing!

Tasting menu was very enjoyable, sommelier was helpful in choosing the wine and overall we had a great experience at Mets Mots! Not giving 5 stars because we thought the pricing was around 10/15% higher than what it should be at - comparing it to like restaurants. (only an opinion)

Quality, value, and service were top today. How nice to eat fresh, well prepared food, very nice plating, and attentive wait staff, all with a full house. Small but nice wine list with mostly wineries using sustainable methods. The hake fish with romesco, sweet potatoes and broccoli sauce was so flavorful. Lunch partners said the same about their dishes (shown). Menu du jour 20€ (entree & main).

Enjoyed this meal SO MUCH! Great tastes, wonderful service - though the time we were there is was not crowded at all. The food was WONDERFUL !

Great tasting menu and a lovely wine list, very knowledgeable sommelier. However, be mindful about food allergens, the staff is attentive yet the kitchen seemed unaware of our allergies. Regardless, we'll be back!

Had a great dinner. The courses are traditional with a modern twist. Thought the wine list was very steep though.

Café Lavinal is a traditional bistro located in the Bages village, offering a fine dining experience. The restaurant is known for its warm and tender fried lamb legs, served with flavorful gravy and decent side dishes. Visitors can enjoy the three-course Lavinal Set-up Menu, featuring delicious and generously portioned dishes at a fair price. The friendly staff adds to the pleasant dining experience.
Wonderful lunch set of avocado and egg entree, chicken thigh with potatoes and mushrooms for main and poached pear with icecream for dessert. Very quick and good service, will be back.

Food was ok. Nothing spectacular but easy going. Menu enfant was good. Interesting wine selection, however, quite highly priced. But some hidden treasures with moderate pricing can be found.

Nice lunch in a beautiful brasserie. Great wine options by the glass produced by the wineries owned by the Cazes family of Chateau Lynch-Bages. We realised that they mistaken on part of the order with the cheese and charcuterie mix platter and abruptly removed the platter, guests felt rather awkward. Portions are rather small, for the price especially the onion soup…

Amazing restaurant. Was able to get the “ last “ table outside. Had Lavinal menu. Beautiful food with reasonable price. Starter, main and dessert for 27 euro!!!They recommend you wine which will go with the dish. Service was amazing. If I have a chance to come back to Bordeaux again, would definitely come back.

Such a great restaurant. Beautiful courses, I had the garlic butter beef to share and you van eat this with 4 people!! But delicious!! And such an amazing winelist!! I felt like a kid in a candyshop

We’ve been to Cafe Lavinal from a recommendation of our host of La Maison Reverdi. We both had the three course Lavinal Set-up Menu, where you can choose between two different starters, mains and desserts. Each individual dish was super delicious and the portions were bigger than we expected. The price was extremely fair, service excellent and the wine was as good as the rest of our experience.

This restaurant is amazing. The food was delicious. Best we have had in a long time. And the staff was super nice and friendly. Beautiful venue. Could sit there for hours.

Nice experience with just enough variety of food on the menu. Service was quick for french standards and everyone was very kind.

Adding to my wine education brought me to Bordeaux and dropped me, among other places, at Chateau Lynch-Bages for a spectacular tour of their new production facilities, a tasting and lots of historical details. Turns out that the current owners of the winery and vineyards surrounding it unknowingly also received the "town" immediately adjacent to the winery with their acquisition. Upon discovery, the family renovated or rebuilt all of the structures in the tiny town just steps from the winery to complement the business and provide housing and services for the employees who were willing to live within a two minute walk of their employer. Café Lavinal is THE restaurant in town. Make no mistake, this is not an afterthought to the wine operation. It is an upscale establishment brimming with the ambiance and atmosphere that befits the marriage of the region's passion for both wine and food. We took lunch al fresco on a warm, sunny afternoon under the shade of patio umbrellas. Ordering from the Lavinal lunch menu provided sophisticated three-course options that were as artfully prepared and presented as they were creative and satisfying. Not unexpectedly, ingredient quality reigns supreme and deft hands in the kitchen transformed them into delicacies that were worth sharing with everyone in our party, making sure our choices covered the widest range of flavors and textures possible. Service was impeccable and appropriately timely, keenly aware of our pace and responsive when we were ready to depart. I selected a very approachable white Bordeaux from the Chateau's second label and was reminded that it's not at all hard to pair food and wine in the region. Reservations are a must as it's literally the only restaurant in town. But it's worth planning. Definitely a surprise find.

We were book in here as part of a wine tour. Our menu was set and not necessarily what I would have chosen. However the food was delicious, cooked well, although I do not like fish so rare, everything else including the wines were lovely. The staff very efficient and polite. Thank you.

Exquisite. Our servers were easy going and yet very professional! We had the French onion soup which was the BEST we've ever had. Lots of onions with the bread and cheese topping left up to us - PERFECTION! Our best food experience in France.

Such a cute little restaurant next to Lynch Bages in Pauillac! Staff was very friendly. A glass of wine is cheaper than coke :) Food was average. Dessert was delicious though! Normal portion sizes.
Suki Leung — Google review
We were recommended to try this restaurant while we were in the area. To start with it was great; the restaurant is beautiful and the staff friendly and polite. The wine list is extensive. But ultimately, the food let them down. To start we had a charcuterie board to share which was lovely and the bread was fanatic. However there's no way to know whether all these items were bought in from quality suppliers and just plated up? As this was a special meal for us were decided to treat ourselves to the steak rib for two in garlic butter. We ordered it medium as my husband doesn't like it too rare but we figured that I'd be happy with the meat around the bones as that never cooks as much and he'd be happy with the meat towards the edges as medium. Also, we thought that no chef would ever want to overcook such a beautiful piece of meat; how wrong we were! I've never had a steak so over cooked in all my years in france! It was a dry piece of leather. As you can see from the photo; most of it was very well done, there was the tiniest bit of pink on one or two slices but it was still very overcooked and, dry and tough 😒 It would have been beautiful even if it wasn't aged, so lacked flavour. The garlic butter should have made up for that lack of meat flavour but they must have run out of garlic. All in all we felt like the big price tag for a meal in that restaurant is for the decor, the linen napkins and the wine list but disappointingly not for the food. It was a shame as we had such high hopes of a fantastic meal, but honestly I have cooked steak from our local butcher in the Charente who ages his steaks better myself, and it didn't cost 80€!

While strolling through the beloved Saint-Pierre district, take a break at Le Davoli and indulge in an exceptional dining experience. The warm reception and excellent service will leave you satisfied. The chef's cuisine combines exquisite gastronomy with unexpected yet delightful ingredients.
Visited this restaurant on my last evening on holiday in Bordeaux, and it’s safe to say I left the best until last! I had the St Pierre menu and opted for the egg & carbonara sauce to start, the pork for main and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Each dish was a flavour explosion I’d never experienced before. The chef is extremely creative and has crafted some magical combinations of food. They are clearly very talented and passionate about what they do. The presentation was amazing as well - all of the dishes were like works of art. The service was outstanding as well. If you’re in Bordeaux id highly recommend visiting Le Davoli!

A really great restaurant. Service was good, food and wine were both super tasty. The dishes were elegant yet decently sized. Every element of each dish complemented the other perfectly. Desserts were fantastic and really interesting. Only issue is it can get very hot inside as there is no AC. Well worth a visit though!

French restaurant
Located in Montagne Saint Emilion, Le Clos Mirande is a historic establishment with a prime location just 200 meters from the ocean. This restaurant offers both traditional and gourmet cuisine, specializing in fish dishes. Open year-round, it also serves coffee, crepes, waffles, and ice cream during the summer months of July and August.
This was unexpectedly my favorite meal of our trip to the region. It was recommended to us by our BNB hosts, and I'm so glad we didn't miss it! The courses were beautifully prepared and delicious. Wine pairing recommendations were on point. The view truly cannot be beat. Le Clos Mirande is a gem and I hope to make it back there one day.

Good food, excellent service. Some entrées/plats 5 star...some 3 star. Veal with polenta fries was pretty good - could use more salt and herbs/seasoning and perhaps a nice sear for more flavor. Chocolate-Banana dessert had great flavor and came with a cookie on the bottom.

Delightful setting and food. We dined outside on the lovely terrace and selected dishes from the Carte Du Bistrot. The tortillas aux poivrons, dorade royale doré, araignée de porc, and choux aux fruits rouges were all beautifully presented and delicious. Service was attentive and professional. Highly recommended!

Great place, hidden gem. Beautiful view on the wineyards. Delicious food, almost Michelin level. But for an affordable price. Daily menu for 20 or 25 euro (3 courses). Chef menu for 38 euro (3 courses, with choices). We spend 86 euro with two, including 3 courses, glass of wine, coffee and sparkling water. Definitely recommend this!

Absolutely AMAZING experience all around! We sat on the back patio and enjoyed excellent food and service, all while watching the sun go down over the vineyards to the music of a super talented group of three guitar players. Early into our 2 week trip to this area and our visit here has already been a major highlight! We can't recommend it enough!

Experienced French hospitality first hand- 100% loved our experience. We were a group of 4, with 3 of us vegetarian and could only speak English. We wanted to try the set lunch meal option, but it was all non-vegetarian. On our request, the Chef agreed to make for us a vegetarian meal. Given we didnt know what to expect, it was a quite an experience to keep waiting and then to be blown away with the preparation! Highly recommend this place.

If you dream of the warmth of a French summer evening accompanied by gastronomy to suit the locale this is the place for you. The flavours of the food were subtle and gently perfect and the extensive wine list offered broad and deep choices. The menu was available in English and the staff were all bilingual and friendly.

The food was absolutely superb!! We sat outside on the patio which had such a beautiful view I told my husband I thought we were in heaven!! My fiancé and I had an incredible experience here. The views are gorgeous, the staff are friendly and provide excellent service, the food was delicious. Amazing spot, we highly recommend le clos mirande

We had a fantastic lunch at Le Clos Mirande today. We both chose the ‘menu gourmet’ and were blown away by the quality of the food. My wife had the langostine cassoulet to start and chicken for mains, I chose the foie gras followed by the sea bass, with both of us having the apple tatin to finish. It was French food at its finest. Pleased to find that this was a dog friendly restaurant so we were able to dine outside on the terrace with our pooches! If we return to the area again we would have no hesitation in dining here, highly recommended.
