Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Norwich Cathedral is a famous Romanesque church edifice dating from 1096. It's currently the cathedral for the Church of England Diocese of Norwich, and is open to visitors who don't follow its faith. The cathedral has high Norman tower, large monastic cloisters, and some original Norman wall painting.
Wonderful place to visit. My first visit but certainly not my last. The staff were very helpful couldn't and be faulted. Next time I will take the free guided tour.

An amazing place to visit and won't break the bank. The entrance is very welcoming. Very open and modern with lots of information on offer and no extra mandatory charge for it, like some cathedrals. You can wander around freely or go on a tour. I chose to walk freely but would recommend a tour if you would like more info or at least picking up some of their booklets. The buildings themselves and grounds are very well kept and are nice to walk around. I am glad this cathedral is being looked after. The upstairs is accessible with a lift where the cafe/toilets and library are situated. I was lucky enough to visit their library on a day where they were allowing visitors to view their older books. This for me was an incredible experience and I am grateful to have seen the incredible volume of books they care for. I did have to park a little bit away but Norwich does have a good amount of parking about, and its the only thing you would have to pay for in this trip.

A must see. Upon entry you are greeted by staff who give you a guide and explain a few things. No entry fee however there is a voluntary donation desk if you wish to donate. Donation is greatly received and appreciated. Inside the Cathedral there is lots to see with beautiful art work and architecture. Soak in the peaceful atmosphere and view the beautiful glass stained windows. There are guided tours. gift shop, cafe and toilets.

A very beautiful cathedral. The cathedral is the seat of the bishop of Norwich and the mother church of the diocese of Norwich. It is located in the heart of the city so I recommend anyone who goes to Norwich to visit. Entrance is free and it is pet friendly as well. The staff is also very helpful and inform you by answering all your questions sincerely.
Mine Osan — Google review
Beautiful cathedral which has a free entry although they do request for a donation at the second entrance (min £5). The shop has a lot of nice items too. Unfortunately, the toilets are closed here so ensure you empty your bowels before hand.
Romain B Fernandes — Google review
Lovely visit to Norwich cathedral with a primary school group. Informative guides and interactive stained glass activities with the children. The cathedral is clean, tidy and well looked after. Cashless cafe.
Joanne Fenner — Google review
A must see on your to do list if visiting Norwich. We visited around 2.30pm on a Sunday in December. We were welcomed by a very friendly, bubbly, informative lady at the entrance. Entrance is free but if you can give a donation it all helps to keep this incredible building in the remarkable condition it is. We listened to the organ playing whilst taking in the breathtaking stained glass windows, incredible architecture (remember to look up) and the history. Pausing to light candles in remembrance of others and for peace. Sitting for a few moments of prayer and contemplation. There is a wonderful cafe attached to the side of the cathedral, scrumptious cakes, scones, rolls, pastries, mince pies; eat in or take out. We sat and had a delicious cup of earl grey and a nibble of naughtiness. Would highly recommend to all.
Sarah Cunningham — Google review
Phenomenal is the only word for it. It is free to visit and Dogs are allowed, which is rare. The building is HUGE, with so many Chapels within it. The whole building is beautiful and so well maintained. Allow two hours to see it properly. There is a Cafe on the upper level too.

OUTSTANDING The best religious building I've been in by far. The history is fascinating. If you get the chance to do a guided tour then you must, there knowledge is amazing. Loved everything about this Cathedral.
Sara Tomlinson — Google review
Really lovely cathedral right in the middle of Norwich, in walking distance of the train station. I only popped in for a quick visit so really didn't get the full experience. I'd love to come back and invest a bit more time as there's so much to look at and so much history to learn about. I recommend giving yourself a couple of hours if you really want to explore everything, however it's still worth going in if you only have a little bit of time.
Connor Scott-Gardner — Google review
Very impressive cathedral, amazed it was free to visit! I particularly enjoyed the treasury and seeing the painted brickwork up close, many people don't know that these historic buildings were painted when they were first built, that paint has largely faded over the centuries.
Matt Roberts — Google review
Incredible 900 year old building, absolutely huge and stunningly beautiful. Spent well over an hour here because there was just so much to see. Can visit for free or make a donation. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. One of the best cathedrals I've ever been to.
Tim Husain — Google review
Love this cathedral. Love the grounds and building. You can light candles and give prayer requests. It's donation only and walkable to the main city as it's the bottle m end of the city. Your surrounded by plenty of places to eat . If Norwich is new to you, Riverside has gravity / the Odeon a/ swimming and bowling etc and the main centre has most stores and some quaint side streets. The assembly house is an amazing place for a treat afternoon tea and an amazing building in itself.
Nina Fri — Google review
A beautiful cathedral in a beautiful city. Great history. Fantastic art and architecture. Peaceful surroundings to rest and contemplate. Excellent facilities for the disabled visitor. Superb cafe which is accessible and can cater for food allergies/intolerances.

Stunning. Definitely would go again but on a weekday. Such a different without place being overcrowded. Beautiful architecture inside. Free to visit. Toilets at the premises too.

Just not enough time to explore this amazing building, it's actually really big and the courtyard reminds me of something from Harry Potter or X Men. You have to come here with 2-3 hours to appreciate. Also wrap up as it's cold in here too!
Dr23rippa — Google review
The cathedral is nice. The staff very welcoming and friendly. Lovely place to relax if you need to quiet your mind. What's really lovely though is the surrounding area. The most beutiful chocolate box houses you've ever seen

It is a fantastic building worth exploring if you are in Norwich. Some lovely stained glass windows are framed by the architecture, and the craftsmanship is incredible. Free to explore and see what the building has to offer. There is a cafe, toilets and a gift shop and a labyrinth in the cloister. I visited late in the day so the cafe and shop were closed along with the exhibition but reason to visit again one day
Ashley Lightfoot — Google review
I absolutely loved our visit to Norwich Cathedral. They have super helpful volunteers on the door that are extremely nice and make you feel really welcome. We joined a free tour which was superb, it lasted just over an hour and I could have listened to the guide all day. The architecture was simply stunning and the information that the guide conveyed brought the history of the cathedral to life. I loved the carvings of the Green Men dotted all over the place. Entry was free (as it should be for a place of worship) but I was more than happy to make a donation to this wonderful place.

Really nice visit, even though I am local and seen it all before....you can't fail to be impressed by the beautiful architecture of this magnificent building, the sheer scale of it is incredible. My young son really enjoyed looking around which was somewhat surprising as it's not really something you would think children would enjoy.......it's the school holidays & IT'S ALWAYS RAINING !!!! so give me marks for being creative!!! the resident cathedral cat helped my cause & obviously the cafe who is powered by BREAD SOURCE so always gonna be a winner!! Although the gift shop is seriously lacking ...although really busy with customers even my 5 year old couldn't find anything he wanted...that means it is REALLY BAD.... should collaborate with Jarrolds to stock it. Two Norwich icons together would be great to see.
Amanda Dyble — Google review
Beautiful cathedral with so much history to see. Free to enter, but I would suggest a good donation as it’s such a nice day out. Really dog friendly, except the cafe, but there are plenty of dog friendly places to eat in Norwich. The staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable.

Beautiful Church with amazing decoration. Is free to entry and staff are really friendly. I seem tourists having guided tour. The courtyard is amazing and there is a huge cafe/restaurant on site.

Loved visiting Norwich Cathedral. For starters, entry is free which can be a big help to larger groups and families. The Cathedral is kept in excellent condition and most areas were accesable. The staff are very friendly and the Cathedral also offer free tours around. It was really good to walk around and enjoy all the sights of the Cathedral. Overall a good experience and the atmosphere was excellent. 👍😁

A must place to visit, This beautiful church has so much to see.Its free to get in but donations are appreciated. I had a guided tour which is free and I recommend it, With the Gentleman tour guide so knowledgeable, and so enthusiastic, The artitecture of the cathedral is stunning, Everywhere you look from the floor to the ceiling it's just a work of art. The guide showed us Graffiti markings on some of the walls that was put there by some of the stonemasons..There is a cafe and toliets on site as well..

Stunning architectural building made many of our group feel so emotional. To think it took 50 years to construct is truly amazing especially considering it dates back to 1096. Our son took part in being a chorister for a day last Saturday. It was so special and something we will always remember. The staff were so committed and passionate. It was a real privilege. Definitely recommend the shop, too. Lots of lovely bits and pieces to buy for presents or keep sakes to remember the day, reasonably priced and good quality. We give 5*

Winbirri Vineyard

Food & Drink
Winbirri Vineyard offers a 3-hour tour led by the owner and Head winemaker, Lee, who is passionate about their vineyards and wine production. The process from start to finish is enlightening as it changes one's perspective on the value of cheap versus expensive wine. The tour includes a tasting of five different wines, including their award-winning Bacchus. There are options to purchase wine by case or single bottle while enjoying the garden at the end of the tour.
We had a 3hr informative tour by the owner Lee who is also the Head wine maker. Lee is very passionate about the vineyards and the wine they produce, the whole process from start to finish is something you take for granted, the view i have about wine now is very different when you realise the difference between cheap and expensive wine, we had 5 different wines to taste, 3 white and 2 red including their award winning Bacchus. You can buy the wine by case or single, plus you can relax in the garden at the end of the tour. I would highly recommend and leave your car at home.

The tour was longer than other tours I've taken but the passion and knowledge shown by Lee was plain to see. Beautiful grounds and the wine is great.
Ali Graver — Google review
Honestly do yourself a favour and book yourself a wine tour at this vineyard. The wine is superb and the way they grow their wine is so sustainable. The passion and love for wine of the team that runs this vineyard is second to none. It's such a great and informative tour, a generous wine tasting and one of the most educational and rewarding wine tastings we have ever done. I can't recommend this place enough.
Sandy Kenneally — Google review
Amazing place to visit and the wine is delicious. Lee is very knowledgeable and a very clever winemaker. Learnt a lot from him about wine. He must be very proud of what he has acheived.
Marguerite Shreeve — Google review
The wine tasting tour is fantastic. The owner Lee is personable and exceptional passionate and knowledgable, it was so interesting and refreshing to hear his commitment and positivity. The wines have a reputation that they easily live up to, simply superb. We would also like to mention the team around the wine garden , who were so friendly and helpful , they made us feel welcome and special. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and beautiful surroundings immersed in the vineyard itself , what a great day ……do yourself a favour and go
Nick Orme — Google review
The vineyard is a family run business and the owners are obviously passionate about their wines. They were super helpful in helping us choose which wines to try and helped me load the cases into my boot. My favourite was the Signature 2016 with the Bacchus 2019 a close second 😁
Mel Thirtle — Google review
Lovely to sit out in the garden and the wine was lovely (we had the white/rose).....BUT, the rather aloof member of the bar staff refused to let me try the red (despite a bottle being open on the bar), which was a shame, as I was planning to buy 6-12 bottles (but did not really want to pay £9 bottle without trying it first) . A rather odd marketing strategy for a vineyard, as surely that's the whole point - you try the wine before you buy it?? I doubt I will go back.
Dee C — Google review
A lovely place, a great wine tasting of some of their superb wine, Lee shares his philosophy of minimum intervention wine making and some of the financial hurdles he has had to get over to produce Winbirri's wines. A great lunch alongside the vines really was a great way to end the visit. Thoroughly recommended .
Barrie Tynemouth — Google review
To visit a local norfolk vineyard with an international reputation, thats a day out! The vision of one man to plant a few vines which became an internationally acclaimed business is inspiring! A great and informative tour followed by a wine tasting and charcuterie was fabulous! Thanks to Lee and his parents for a fab experience, well worth the taxi fare (well you couldn't drive!)
Tony Parkins — Google review
The Winbirri Vineyard tour was both informative and entertaining, and during the tasting portion I knew I would be going home with a couple of bottles. It was a beautiful setting for enjoying wine, and you can also purchase coffee, snacks, or a charcuterie platter. The owner was very personable, and the staff was friendly. I definitely recommend it!
Lynn Morales — Google review
I never realised that we had vineyards in this country so I was pleasantly surprised to find we do! It's dog friendly too which is a bonus. We went for a walk near the marshes and called in winbiirrii. I enjoyed the meats and cheeses and nibbles very much. I would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent tour and tasting. Head winemaker was informative and entertaining. Great wines to sample and despite being a wet day it was highly enjoyable. Recommended.

This was our first trip to this fabulous vineyard. Although the day was freezing cold, Lee’s passion and enthusiasm kept us thoroughly entertained. We learnt so much and had a very enjoyable day with friends. The sharing platters were delicious and we look forward to sampling some of the delicious bottles of wine we bought on hot sunny days during the summer!

Midsummer House is a Michelin starred fine dining restaurant in Cambridgeshire, England, that serves elegant French meals at smart tables in a conservatory. The restaurant has been praised by serious gastronomes for its delicious and inventive food.
An amazing experience from start to finish. We were gifted a voucher for my partner’s 40th birthday so chose the tasting menu during lunch service. A truly sensational range of dishes and creativity. The standard of service was impeccable and we were made to feel looked after but not too fussed over. Would recommend for foodies who want to treat themselves to an afternoon of luxury!
Lee-Anna Morgan — Google review
We had the best experience at Midsummer house! Very cosy environment and incredible food! All dishes were pieces of art. Highly recommended for birthdays, anniversaries, and more! It's definitely worth it. We noticed that the entrance to the restaurant is not where Google maps shows. The entrance is not from the river side.

Me and my Dad had an amazing meal here together. Probably the best we've had together. It is very expensive, even compared to other two stars and some three but in my opinion very much worth it for the food. The service additionally was fantastic I suppose the wine pairing seemed over priced if I am to be critical. The Sommelier was engaging, fun and knowledgeable but some of the wines themselves although delicious, didn't seem so worth the money. This is shadowed by the 5 star experience and we were happy to pay (next time though we may purchase a bottle or two instead though).

An absolutely gorgeous gem nestled on the side of the Cam. A special treat dinner was everything we hoped it would be and more. Literally everything and everybody on point from start to finish. Wonderful.
Liz Anderson — Google review
Visited for my boyfriends, mums 70th. We had a great time. The food was obviously delicious, and the service was great. The staff were happy to take themselves not too seriously. Only criticism was that some of the servers spoke very quietly, which was tricky for those of us without perfect hearing.

An absolute privilege to finally eat here. The ambience of the restaurant is outstanding. The food was the best all 4 of us have ever tasted and the wine pairing was remarkable. All the staff were superb but special mention must go to the Somelier whose knowledge was remarkable and to Molly a charming and warm human being. Thank you Daniel and all your staff for an experience all 4 of us will remember forever 👏👏

Such a fantastic evening! Thanks to the whole team, front of house and back, for an incredible dining and culinary experience. The food was creative, innovative and attractive. The flavours were divine and every member of staff treated us beautifully. Thanks again!
Natalie Burrows — Google review
Fabulous taster menu, about 18 courses that were perfectly balanced to avoid any feelings of overload. We had the 'cheaper' wine pairing and each was seriously good. It ranks as one of the finest dining experiences ever, every course was sublime. There were 5 of us in the private dining room and I think others may find it a bit atmospherically cold, thankfully we're a reasonably lively, not rowdy, group and it was fine. Arthur, our waiter and sommelier, was a triumph. Very expensive but when you see the detail in every course you understand why. A magnificent treat.

Amazing as usual. Cambridge’s local Michelin is well worth dining at at least once in your life. If you haven’t dined here you’re missing out! Well worth the cost. Ambience is perfect — quiet and comfortable. Nice for a date or business meeting. Favorite dish is their constant — the apple shaped beignets are to die for. Also their gift bag carrot cake…

midsummer_house is a 2 Michelin star Victoria era river side cottage in the heart of Cambridge. Serving some incredibly beautiful French meals. It was the best culinary experience I have ever had in my life and I would recommend going if you have a special occasion coming up as it’s on the pricier side but it is worth every penny. We later slipped into the lounge area with some spectacular views of the River Cam and was given the absolute honour of looking behind the scenes in the kitchen! Absolutely unforgettable experience! 😍🤩

We enjoyed a culinary symphony at Midsummer House. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. The nature-inspired presentations were works of art, and the thoughtful wine selections only elevated the dining experience. We'd love to return every season and get inspired. Thank you for such a delightful experience and the sourdough ;-)

The waiting staff have us stellar service. They are very knowledgeable and caring, and make it look like a very relaxed environment. The chefs are quick to serve food and they execute it to perfection. The food presentation is amazing and food taste is so good I cannot find appropriate words to describe it. Separate components of the dish and they altogether sing perfectly in the mouth. The place is lovely and I enjoyed watching birds.

Market Bistro is a charming European restaurant in King's Lynn that offers a delightful menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. The simple yet elegant space with exposed brick and ceiling beams creates a cozy atmosphere for diners. Visitors highly recommend the delicious food and excellent beer served at this family-run establishment. The reasonable prices on the menu are surprising given the innovative and creative dishes offered. Guests praise the polite and competent staff, as well as the fabulous dining experience.
We booked Market Bistro catering company for our project meeting with people coming from Germany, Denmark, Netherlands and Norway - all left impressed and delighted. We wanted a menu that showcased Norfolk produce and seasonality. They delivered and more. The starter with freshly foraged mushrooms was stunning. The team were friendly, professional and nothing was a too much. Great food, great people. Very highly recommended.
Alexander Larter — Google review
We visited here to try the tasting menu. On the whole it is quite good, the scallops were very good, although not local (Scottish) which takes away the flavours of Norfolk concept a little. The purees and gels are clever and very tasty. The beef (Red Pohl) was a little overdone, more medium than rare and consequently a little firm. The desserts were delicious, and probably the best part of the meal. Go with the paired wine selections, they are actually very good, particularly the Hungarian Tokai with the scallops and the Spanish Crianza with the beetroot tartare. The Market Bistro is good value for the quality of food. The service is very good, although we were the only diners in the restaurant for the first 90 minutes!
Tim Fothergill — Google review
There is much to like about this place; the food is very good and looks particularly beautiful. The seasonal menu was interesting, with a fair choice. The waiting staff were friendly and knowledgable. The overall atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. However, it was just a bit pricier than I was anticipating; a table of 4 all having three course meals with a bottle of wine seems overpriced at £200, without service too. I find it hard not to be more critical at this price point; my artichoke veloute was just a little overflavoured with thyme, as were the pears that came with my venison. The braised red cabbage was good, but a little too hot and spicy from pepper and cinnamon. However the venison itself was cooked perfectly, the pears had a satisfyingly yielding crunch and the roast artichokes tasted like they had seen a good daubing beef dripping. There is nowhere else quite like this in King's Lynn, however if you are willing to travel the Neptune in Hunstanton feels more special and has greater perfection for not dissimilar money. Alternatively The Bank House is just around the corner and is a bit cheaper. I'm glad I have finally been to the Market Bistro, but don't know that I feel the need to rush back soon.

Fabulous food in a cosy, family run atmosphere. Polite and competent personell. And don't be puzzled by the reasonable prices on the menu. The food is simply delicious, marvelous and on the other hand very innovative and creative. Whenever you are in King's Lynn don't miss the chance to be there for Dinner. Don't miss it! Very recommendable. BTW: closing at 8:30 pm means: last food orders at 8:30. Actually, drinks are served til 11pm.

Fantastic food! Everything we tried- mushrooms, beef, cheese's, drinks- all ABSOLUTELY delicious. Their chef sent out a taster of partridge meatballs and they were also delicious. Their waitstaff was happy to answer any questions we had and if they couldn't, they found someone who could. We had a nice leisurely dinner and did not feel rushed at all. The ambiance is relaxing and I loved the rustic decor. They had just recently redone the menu and it was very impressive. Absolutely delicious and a must go!

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Market Bistro. Great choice on the menu, from light lunch bites and starters to mains. The dishes were imaginative, very well cooked and beautifully presented. Little extras are included like a beetroot meringue with cream cheese - absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful, service is excellent and the setting is stunning, opposite the Minster.
Jan Martin — Google review
Tastefully understated with a welcoming cosy atmosphere. Good for a special intimate meal or group celebration meal. The food is always imaginative and presented artistically, in the modern style. More importantly it tastes fantastic and is memorable. Usually give you lovely bread and a free sample from their taster menu. If you judge food by quantity, this isn't the place for you! But savour every mouthful. I had a mini shepherds pie starter using shredded lamb topped with pureed truffle mash! The choice is limited usually to only 5 main course options. There were 2 meat, 2 fish and 1 vegetarian choices. It's more expensive than your average British restaurant meal but this isn't your average meal. Well worth the extra!

Restaurant
The Last Bar & Restaurant is a popular Norwich establishment that has been open since 1990. It offers a buzzing bar serving over 100 wines, as well as two eating areas - the trendy downstairs and the relaxed and informal brasserie. The name refers to the last moulds or "Lasts" used in Victorian times to make shoes.
We had a simply delightful dinner at The Last today. From the moment we stepped through the door, the service was absolutely impeccable - the staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome throughout our entire meal. The food was equally impressive. We started with a delicious twice baked cheese soufflé, which was beautifully light and full of flavor. For mains, the fillet of beef was both exquisitely prepared and presented. The beef was cooked to perfection! To finish, the blood orange and buttermilk pudding was a refreshing and indulgent end to the meal. The overall dining environment at The Last was excellent as well. The restaurant has a lovely, intimate atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and comfortable. We will definitely be returning!

The expectations were somehow high as we wanted to celebrate our friend’s birthday with a nice dinner. We ordered all the starters and one main each. Everything was mediocre, especially the Kentucky fried octopus and the cod, but what troubled us the most was that the order came wrong. For a £40 dinner in Norwich, let’s say service is simply not good enough. Pity.

Some really good food in a very pleasant atmosphere. There are two areas to eat and both are very pleasant and inviting. Lovely old bar in the one section. There is a good drinks selection and the barman made some excellent cocktails. Prices are good and the food is super tasty. A good place for a date night and also for a night out with a group of friends. Would recommend.

Dined at The Last on the 30/3/24 and it was a first class experience from beginning to end. The dining room is warm, inviting and well appointed, the menus are varied and the dishes we had that evening were well thought out, well crafted and cooked to perfection by the kitchen team. The front of house team were exceptional and personable which contributed greatly toward a dining experience that was relaxed, enjoyable and a pleasure to be a part of throughout. On a final note, the drinks list is extensive and regardless of preference there is something within to suit all tastes.

Had an amazing Sunday lunch here. Very rarely go for three courses but the menu had so many delicious sounding dishes we just had to go for it. Starters we went for were so tasty. Can highly recommend the Ox cheek doughnut! The beef main has to be one of the Sunday lunches I've had out. The meat was cooked to perfection accompanied by some sizable roast potatoes, heritage carrots, savoy and red cabbage and cauliflower cheese to die for! At this point Sunday lunch out is normally over but the desserts called out. "The Last" blood orange cheese cake with pistachio ice-cream and flacked almonds was so tasty. Then we come to the cheese board of locally sourced cheeses with biscuits. The gap between courses could have been a little quicker but gave time to prepare for the next but for a busy Sunday, great company and a delight on the taste buds I'll let that go.

So happy that the last has reopened! The menu is well orchestrated and has some really delicious dishes on it. The menu Du jour is really excellent value. The service is attentive and the venue is absolutely lovely has such a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

We had booked The Last Bar for an early dinner after the Norwich Wine Week festival. The service was attentive and friendly from arrival and the menu was packed with innovative and delicious looking dishes. The wine menu was extensive with a selection of unique bottles, we opted for a delightful Orange wine from Austria. A small plate of complimentary bread, and oil for dipping was provided after we had ordered. The bread was fresh, and had hints of garlic and herbs. A very tasty olive oil accompanied for dipping. Our party chose starters of the Buratta with pesto and mixed leaves and a dish of the Sweetbreads. Both were delicate and well balanced while being extremely moorish. For mains we chose a Confit duck leg, sea bass, and the shallot Tart Tatin. Everyone raved about the quality of the main courses, accompanied with fries and a side order of the smoked new potatoes. If we were to return to Norwich, The Last would be a place to return with excellent quality food and wonderful service.

British restaurant
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is an opulent and contemporary British restaurant in the heart of Knightsbridge. Offering a tantalizing menu inspired by British culinary history, the garden terrace is a tranquil and luxurious space perfect for a romantic dinner or special occasion. With two Michelin stars to its name, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is a must-try for anyone visiting London.
This was amazing🤩 we weren’t expecting it as we have been to the one in Melbourne and it was quite average. But this one in London really blew us away. All the dishes we had were delicious but the ‘rice and flesh’ was a stand out. The portions are very reasonable for fine dining and we were already full after 2 courses and bread. We shared the cheesecake dessert which was scrumptious. Service was great and we had a lovely time celebrating a birthday there. Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes.

I had a beautiful experience dinning here for lunch while tasting some amazing wines from South Africa. The private room is very scenic and charming, dark woods heavy chairs. The food is spectacular, pleasing for eyes and palate. One of the signatures dishes the Mandarin shaped liver pate was nice, and stunning but maybe I had higher expectations. The rest of the food was just perfectly executed. I can't comment on value as it was a set menus and I was a guest. I'm sure it's not cheap, and probably not the best place if you want a large meal. But definitely an experience to try.

Definitely worth going to try at least once. Service was exceptional, although have had better elsewhere. We had the tasting menu it was filling and very well executed although a few dishes we more salty than we'd personally have liked. Decor has some nice touches too. Some love bits I haven't shared so they are a suprise. Would love to go again in the future.

Superb dinner. Everything was excellent, and top quality. The beef cheek was exceptionally good - felt like Turkish delight, just melting in your mouth while you slowly enjoyed the taste. We were very pleased with the service staff, each of them very polite, knowledgeable and fun.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had - we’ll be going back every time we visit London! We have dined at many top restaurants around the world including Michelin starred, and Dinner by Heston will be on my shortlist of favourites for three main reasons: 1) A dining experience that builds your appreciation for the food you will eat; 2) Flawless food that will leave you talking about it for days; 3) Impeccable but personable service At the beginning of the service, the waiter will present you with three cards that let you decide what kind of experience you want - we chose the “Maverick” which meant our waiters shared lots of detail around how the dish originated, the history and the preparation + effort behind the food in front of you. You can see how passionate the staff are and it’s easy to see why. The food was flawless and flavours perfectly balanced - I couldn’t pick a favourite from what we ordered (everything was fantastic!) but if you’re dining a la carte then you can’t go wrong with the meat fruit to start your Heston experience. After hearing the waiter explain the history, thinking and effort that went behind the dish, you immediately build a greater appreciation of the food you’re eating. I wish more fine dining restaurants gave us this glimpse into the thinking of the chefs behind the scenes. In addition, I was dining with my mum who wanted her duck to be more medium than the recommended medium rare. At a normal restaurant, this usually means we are presented with a duck that is so overcooked, however the chefs cooked it perfectly medium and she’s still raving about it days later. Lastly, a big thank you to Alberto, Emmanuel and George who made our dining experience so enjoyable, personable and fun. You made it an amazing experience, an 11/10. We will be back soon!

Excellent but not creative enough We were fortunate to get an outside seat, it really is beautiful on the terrace beside Hyde Park, peaceful and regal. Service was impeccable, professional but also friendly and humorous. Wine list was very good and we enjoyed a fine bottle of champagne with our meal. As to the meal, between us we had beef cheek, smoked salmon, duck and cod (as well as desserts). Each course was beautifully presented, full of flavour and extremely tasty. My criticism was “where’s the Heston twist?”, apart from the “fruit meat” which we didn’t try the dishes weren’t at all unusual or particularly historical (which is the theme). We left completely sated having enjoyed an truly excellent meal but mildly perplexed as to the use of Heston’s name.

I had a wonderful dinner here. We opted for the full explanations of all the dishes and I really enjoyed this aspect of the meal! Learning about the historical significance of the recipes was very interesting. We got the famous meat fruit - well worth it, it was delicious. I actually thought the lamb and cucumber was a bit salty for my taste, but the lamb was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the roasted cucumber! I was skeptical about the idea of warm cucumber, but it was really delicious. The nitrogen ice cream was very fun! We enjoyed the explanation that came along with that as well and the strawberry compote in the bottom of the cone may have been the best bit of the night. Overall an excellent restaurant and experience

This restaurant has 2 Michelin Stars and it certainly met the expectations. This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. They start by letting you pick the type of experience that you want to have. The options are: The Adventurer, The Guide, and The Maverick. We went with The Maverick, which provided us a description of the food and the story behind it. This option is great if you want the history of the ingredients and meals that you are eating. We let the server pick our wine and it was a great option. We had several meals, my favorites were the Rice and Flesh and The Tipsy Cake. (Note: The tipsy cake takes an hour to prepare, so you have to order it right away). Everything was cooked to perfection, flavorful, and the presentation was spectacular. The service was great and we never had an empty glass. I plan on coming back if I ever visit London again.

Dinner by Heston is not just a dining experience; it's an enlightening journey for the senses. The service was exemplary, and the staff's genuine passion for food shone through in their detailed explanations of each dish. The signature Meat Fruit dish lived up to its reputation, transcending my usual reservations about chicken liver with its delightful natural sweetness. The salmon and scallops were flawlessly cooked, and the beef fillet left an indelible memory with its caramelized perfection. The desserts were a visual feast, presented with impeccable artistry. The only drawback was the choice of furniture, as the seat and table design fell short of expectations. It reminded me of my initial visit to the restaurant for breakfast several years ago. Nonetheless, the culinary brilliance overshadowed this minor flaw. Dinner by Heston is an experience that broadens horizons and delights the palate.

Had a pleasant evening at the Dinner by Heston at the Mandarin Oriental. Was looking forward to this for months! It was ok. It didn't live up to the expectation. Not bad, but not great. The tipsy cake was outstanding! The staff were fantastic and knowledgeable.

It was an unbelievable experience. The food, the experience, all the serving options, and the history information all were above amazing. I had a tasting menu but, I asked to change main course from duck to beef and order a different dessert, which the changes were accommodated happily. Every thing was delicious and the flavour were unique and designs were so interesting. One of the must go places for food lovers in London

First time to be here last light, I would recommend you go to book a table now!! Starter: Crab loaf and Almond rice & flesh, both very delicious! Main: Salmon & Champagne and Sea Bass & Green Sauce, i love fish!!! The sauce is interesting. Side dishes: Parnsip, Broccoli, Mashed potatoes. Dessert: Chocolate Tart with yogurt sorbet. We also order a bottle of white wine, after everything we felt so full and satisfied. The service was brilliant, staffs engaged with customers with heart (not just a robotic service), its absolutely light up our whole dinning experience.

Given the dinner was 500/head (including wine) I was heavily underwhelmed. None of the courses was surprising nor had any ingredients or elements that were new or unknown to me. Most of the courses I would know how to cook or even cooked myself already at home (saffron risotto with beef cheek for a Michelin star dinner, really?), while usually I wouldn't even know the ingredients yet how to prepare them. We had 5 courses, which is also joke for this price. They served bread and butter upfront - no amuse bouche or anything you'd expect at this level. Everything tasted well, it was just not what I expected for this kind of dining. I had dinners for half the price that were far beyond this experience, and I don't even want to start comparing this to previous experiences I had at this price level. I understand London is more expensive than other places, but even in London I had better experience for half the price. The atmosphere is like in a busy, well organized hotel restaurant (well, this is what it is), optimized for throughput. The only thing I can't complain about is the service, which was professional and efficient. This restaurant clearly lives from one time visitors being drawn by the brand of Heston Blumenthal. Well, we were one of the many falling for this. We still had a great evening despite the circumstances.

Excellent coronation tasting menu with full explanation on the history of the menu. The chicken pot pie was small, but particularly very tasty. The wine pairing was superb and enjoyable. Waiters and waitresses were attentive and gave full attention.

Absolutely loved this place. The new concept of choosing one's dining experience by placing the corresponding cards on the table was a fantastic idea. We chose "the maverick" and heard some intreguing stories about the history of our dishes. Our food was delicious too. For starters we had the meat fruit and the truffle which came with some delicious bread. The meat fruit is an absolute must try here. The bread one receives in the beginning could do with a little more thought. Our roast cod and roast turbot were fantastic too, however we felt the side dishes were lacking in flavour and the carrots were on the overcooked side. Ironically we were really craving some ketchup with the fries. When we asked for some ketchup, we were surprised just how quickly it was brought to us. The green sauce on the Turbot was delicious however I felt that the sauces on my cod dish were definitely on the salty side. Our tipsy cake was the perfect end to our meal.

Couldn't of asked for a greater final meal on my first international trip. Was extremely excited to try this place and it did not disappoint which was awesome. Really great tasting menu and wine paring and maybe one day I will be back in London and go here again!

Shared an amazing Chefs table tasting (with wine accompaniment) experience with our fabulous friends. I have to say I was a little dubious about the value of this tasting / Dinner experience before the day and was apprehensive about the day hitting my expectations as a result of the price tag. I needn't have worried. 3 hours 40 spent at the table. Regular introductions to the courses and wines and interaction with the team their. Got to see and hear about the creation of each course. The food itself was sublime. An amazing experience. If you get the opportunity then you should jump at it!

This was the best dining experience I have ever had! All the staff were attentive and very helpful, the cards giving you the choice about the level of information of the dish was fantastic (and I wish more places did this). The food was out of this world! I went for the 7 course taster menu to try a bit of everything. Every course looked great and tasted even better. My particular favourites were the meat fruit and the flesh and rice, and if you want a real show stopping finale to your meal, get the nitrogen ice cream, such theatre and lots of ooo's from the surrounding tables! Can't wait to come back.

A fantastic meal with some memorable food and great service. We enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu, with wine paring and the interaction with the staff (especially the sommelier) added to the experience. Our favourites were the Meat Fruit and Tipsy Cake but the salmon starter was beautiful also. Nice touch with heart shaped jammy dodgers for valentines also.

Amazing experience. To start you get to pick 1 of 3 cards which decides how much of an explanation you get about the food. We went with the alacarte menu sharing dishes. For starters we got the meat fruit was fantastic. Not a fan of pate much but this was so creamy and tasty. Definitely a must recommend. We also got the rice and flesh which was like a risotto with beef, also very good. For the main I got a fillet which was very tender and soft. It came with some amazing chips with a mushroom ketchup which was delicious. My partner got a roasted version that was softer than my fillet. Both dishes were great. For dessert we got the tipsy cake. I was expecting it to be quite strong with alcohol but it wasn’t and it was probably one of best desserts we have ever had. We also got some homemade ice cream made right in front of us. It was good but after the tipsy cake we just wanted another one. Overall an amazing experience and we would recommend this place.

Recently dined at Dinner by Heston, and the experience was delightful. The chicken liver parfait was a creamy delight with a generous portion, and the tipsy cake was a standout. The overall food experience was excellent, complemented by attentive service. Excited to explore more of Heston's creations in future visits.

Visited Dinner By Heston Blumenthal for the first time with my partner and was absolutely blown away by the caliber of the food, marvelous service and sophisticated ambience. Hyde Park acts as a fitting backdrop plus you get to watch the chefs at work because it’s a ceiling-to-counter glass panel that wraps around the kitchen area. We went for the ala carte menu because there’s more options and our customized menu spanned 2 starters (rice & flesh, meatfruit) a side (truffle mash, very generous with the black truffles) 2 mains (duck & turnip, Hereford beef) dessert (tipsy cake, ice cream experience) 2 carafes of red and white wine and 2 cocktails so it was worth it. Special mention to Suparth, Maria and the sommelier whose name I did not manage to get, rendered impeccable service to our table. The banter, stories about the inspiration behind the dishes are really what ties the whole experience together. The front of house staff are also welcoming and courteous and they make for a good impression already before we even set foot in the restaurant. This is a place that warrants repeated visits and I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Interesting experience of old English recipes. Spectacularly delicious food and nice ambience. I found the service a little bit too "pretentious" however. Needs to be toned down a bit. Apart from that, it was an almost perfect experience.

Just perfection for a birthday lunch end of 2023. Festive plum version of the iconic meat fruit, so good. My new addiction though, triple cooked chips dipped in mashed potato. My party went maverick & we will be back for more.

Chinese restaurant
A. Wong is an upscale Chinese restaurant known for its dim sum and a 10-course "Taste of China" menu featuring regional cuisine. The owner, LSE graduate Andrew Wong, transformed his parents' Pimlico restaurant into a trendy Shanghai-style eatery after exploring China's culinary scene. A decade later, the restaurant was awarded two Michelin stars, making it the only Chinese restaurant outside Asia with this recognition. A.
Great experience. We went for the Taste of China tasting menu which was amazing, and the waiters are very attentive. Only real complaint is that it is ridiculously hard to book a table, and we had to book months in advance. We also had to rearrange several times due to govt restrictions which of course isn't the restaurant's fault but in that time the price of the menu increased by 46 GBP a head which is not small. That being said, once we arrived the experience was amazing from start to finish.

I went to the dim sum lunch, I have been there many times before the pandemic, and they have always been great, worthy of their 2 star reputation However todays experience was very unpleasant. I ordered 12 pieces of dim sum between two and wanted to taste the classics, before ordering more. The food was very nice still but the experience was ruined by the customer service. The sever told me that the recommended portion per person was 8-10 pieces however I wanted to try my favourites before ordering more. He then said that there is a minimum spend of £100 per guest. This new policy was introduced just after the pandemic. I have never heard such a ridiculous thing, he said if you look at your email, you would see this new policy. Each piece of dim sum is roughly £5 which is very reasonable, even if a person ordered 10 pieces each, with drink and dessert you would not even reach £100 per guest. You would have to eat ridiculous amount of dim sum to get £100 a guest, very rarely do people drink alcohol with dim sum, mostly tea. The server was very antagonising and rude, as he mentioned it after my meal. He said, “make sure you read the policy next time you book” unfortunately I will lot be coming back next time. The food was very good and I would have enjoyed my meal, if the customer service was matched, next time match the customer service with the food. 1 star for the service The food did not match the customer service. Please be aware of this new policy, it ruins the meal!

⭐️FANTASTIC CREATIVE EXPERIENCE ⭐️ 💶 £200 - £300 pp 💶 for tasting menu (including wine) 🍷 Most creative experience since the visiting Hestons Fat Duck! Wasn’t expecting the menu to be so creative and special. 2 stars always means something, but the level of creativity of flavours and presentation, I wasn’t expecting and made for a wonderful experience👌 Wine pairing is always suggested, although with 6 courses - you’ll likely finish feeling very full and also quite anibrated 😂 A real surprise and very deserving of the 2 stars still - worth a visit!

Because my hometown is close to shanghai and some families are shanghainese, I have kinda high standard of shanghainese dishes. I absolutely loved A Wong when I came here for dim sum. I’ve tried a lot and 95% dishes were amazing. Service was very good as well. I’ve recommended A Wong to a lot of my colleagues and friends in the UK and US. It’s just very hard to book a table on the weekend. 🥲

I understand some of the other reviews about the lead up to actual reservation being a little impersonal (1.5 hour slot, quite a high minimum spend, not catering for food allergies etc). But by the time we walked through the doors it’s a high quality service (and we were asked if we had any dietary requirements after all!) and all is forgiven. Food was great. We were recommended between 9-10 dishes. Which was spot on. Nice little carafe of Riesling and a couple of cocktails. £125 a head. Highlight for me was the clear shrimp dumpling with “rice vinegar cloud”, honey roasted Iberico croustade … and the steamed duck yolk custard bun for the finale! It’s a special occasion place for sure … pricey but considering the quality of the food and that it is 2 ⭐️ ⭐️ … kinda makes sense.

Preposterous restaurant - overpriced and pretentious. We were persuaded to eat here by friends and left £600 poorer and over fed on the “taste of China”. Some of the dishes were enjoyable and well-presented, but 25+ courses is far too many and takes far too long (nearly 4 hours). Totally frustrating since we had no ability to order a la carte or opt out when we wanted to say enough!
Chris Librie — Google review
We had a la carte lunch dim sum menu. You're advised to order 8-10 menu items per person and total minimum spend is 200£ per table which is fine if you get a few cocktails and some wine. Though it is very difficult to do maths at the table if you want to stay around that amount :)) My favorite thing about the restaurant was how artistic the dim sum were. Absolutely beautiful. My favorite items were "Isle of Mull seared scallop with iberico pork", "shrimp dumpling with rice cloud vinegar", "duck yolk custard bun". However there are a few things that left us disappointed with the whole experience. Our table was booked for 2:15. You get allocated 1.5h for your table. Everything felt very rushed, there's barely a moment you can relax and enjoy your food, as staff is constantly cramming more dishes on the table while you're trying to eat. Maybe this is what lunch dim sum is but it's not for us. Having more time to enjoy each dish without interruption would feel so much nicer. Then they come and tell you that the kitchen is closing and you need to order quickly if you want more food. Don't need that kind of stress, not what I came for. The other issue is that some of the dim sum are just not good enough for a 2 star restaurant. Won ton with garlic with chilli is just so overpowering you can barely taste anything and there's an insane amount of it. The quail egg was down right inedible in my opinion. Im not even sure it was cooked properly. I will generally eat anything but this was just unpleasant. It's completely mushy and fatty and there's very little acidity coming from the sauce that comes with it. And something as simple as spring roll makes no sense. Its so big it barely fits in your mouth, very messy with all the leaves falling, theres way too little sauce for such a large spring roll and the spring roll is so hot it burns your fingers. Just come on... Overall the combined experience was OK but I wouldn't be coming back.

We got the tasting menu which was about £200 each. We came for my birthday and everyone made me feel welcome. The tasting menu is 5/6 sets of courses which takes you through China. The menu was great, some pieces were amazing whilst some underwhelming but overall a good experience. Service and ambience was great. Portion size for each dish was small but you’ll get full just off the number of dishes. A great restaurant in a great location but definitely on the pricey side. Some food was also hard to eat.

My experience was fabulous 👌. All of the dishes were perfect, every bite you take is an explosion of taste and you can really taste and feel each individual compound of the dish. We had the five movments meal, and for each movment we got about 3 to 4 plates. This evening opened me to a whole new world 🌎 of food, that I've never really got to know. Aside from the amazing food, the staff and the service were immaculate. They welcomed us, and for every dish we finished, they came right away and took it. They were really nice and made our experience even better. Here are some pictures, enjoy!

Wow. Definitively the best meal I've ever had. My boyfriend took me here for our 7 month anniversary and it was an amazing evening. We got there a bit early and were seated in the bar downstairs, which was a very nice, quiet environment with delicious drinks. I got the Xinjiang, which was very tasty even for someone who usually isn't the biggest cocktail person. Such comfortable seating as well - in the entire restaurant, not just the bar. I have arthritis and my back didn't hurt by the end of the 4.5 hour long meal, which is really a feat of nature. The service was also amazing. It was so much more relaxed than other fine dining restaurants I've been to - not in any way unprofessional, just much more relaxed and real. The waiters felt like people, not actors, which I really appreciated. The performative formality of fine dining restaurants can make me a bit uncomfortable, and it was so nice to have waiters who laughed with us. They explained the dishes very well, didn't talk down to us, and addressed both of us, not just my boyfriend. Onto the food...wow. what even to say? Out of 28 courses, there literally wasn't a single one that I didn't like. Every single dish was incredible - not a dud amongst them. The ones that stand out to me in particular are: the char siu, which is one of my favorite foods period, and was the tastiest renditions I've had - Perfectly crispy and sweet and savory and salty - with foi Gras - delicious; the smacked cucumber, which was so flavorful - I loved the fish roe; the steamed shrimp with mung bean noodles, perfectly cooked and so many textures; the wood ear fungus, which was mind-blowing - so much depth of flavor in one bite; the "shark fin soup" dish, which was not only delicious, but also interactive; the chrysanthemum tofu, which came in an amazing broth; and the coconut water ice dessert, which had so many amazing textures and flavors and was a delicious, refreshing way to end the meal. The fact that I could only narrow it down to 7 courses and didnt even mention the soup dumplings should really tell you something about how good this restaurant is. I haven't even mentioned the drink pairing! I got a non-alcoholic pairing, which was delicious. They matched the wines with mostly different teas and vinegars, which I loved. If you're a fan of vinegar (I am!!!), you will love this restaurant. My boyfriend got the regular wine pairing and really enjoyed it. He commented that the pours were quite generous as well. They also made him a menu for his wine list, which was very kind of them. Overall I have literally nothing bad to say about this restaurant other than the fact that 28 courses is objectively too many for one stomach. But all 28 of them were the most delicious thing I've ever eaten, so I feel like I cant complain about that at all😂

To say that A. Wong is a massive disappointment is an understatement. You know the feeling when you are at some snazzy art exhibit that everyone is raving about, but you have no idea what you are seeing or why it’s such a big deal? That’s exactly how A. Wong feels like but with food. There’s absolutely nothing special about the taste of the food except that the pieces (the very small pieces) look good for Instagram. The dim sum comes by piece and they have the audacity to call a piece a dish! The waiters should all work in sales instead because they rave about the “dishes” while you’re ordering to make you believe it is that good (spoiler alert: it’s below average). I have had better dim sum in almost every other place that serves them in London. This place is pretentious and vapid. If you want to pretend to be cool cause you’re spending 100+ pounds per person for a handful of dim sum pieces, then this place is for you. Otherwise; avoid this rip off restaurant.

Quite the example of what True dedication can do, a man who grew up in the restaurant of his parents created what must be the ultimate in modern Chinese dining. Its a challenge though, 3 hours plus but a pleasure. Brilliant staff that cater for everything, incl the non alcoholic pairing, which was brilliant. Is it expensive, yes quite, but do yourself a favour and forget the price it only tells you if you can afford it, not what its worth

Andrew and team made us feel very, very special during our dinner at A. Wong. They had written my girlfriend a personalised happy birthday card, with the whole team signing on it. The food was presented really well, in a traditional Chinese sharing dining manner. The food was flavourful, diverse and well cooked. Couldn’t complain about lack of truffles, caviar and wagyu beef. The interior, despite it being a 2 Michelin starred establishment, stays true to its Chinese diner roots. The food, whilst elevated, feels authentic, and Andrew coming out the kitchen to talk to us about the menu and what inspired him to build it the way it is, was the cherry on top. Service was personal, wine list was extensive, and food was to die for. Need to visit again for the dim sum lunch experience.
