Cafe
The Platform One Cafe is an excellent eatery located above the STEAM museum. It boasts a wide variety of drinks, snacks, and meals that are reasonably priced. The cafe is well-maintained and clean, with friendly staff providing quick service to customers. Visitors can enjoy their meal while relishing the reconstructed rooms and platforms of the railway's story brought to life through videos and costumed figures.
Second time we visited, great experience
Monika Kiss — Google review
It was a nice little cafe with big queues and not enough staff apart from that I can't complain.
David Wain — Google review
Could do a lot better, not a great choice of snacks available. We both had a coffee which was taken back as only luke warm. They were replaced. It really lets the whole museum down as the exhibits inside were really enjoyable to see. Could the cafe take on a GWR period feel to enhance the experience of what is to come inside?
Colin Cranness — Google review
Brilliant cafe attatched to a wonderful museum. Plenty of choice, with choice for any appetite l.

Limited menu but okay for a family. Quiet the day we visited. It is next to the designer outlet which has a food vourt

What a lovely cafe above the STEAM museum. The choice of drinks snacks and meals is very good as well as being very reasonably priced. This was our first visit and we were impressed by the friendly warm welcome from the staff, the speed of service and the cleanliness of the cafe as a whole. We will be returning to enjoy it once again in the near future I'm sure. Thank you.

Stopped off here after visiting the museum Quick snack food Had no tea left and only 1 member of staff doing everything
Rachael Johnson — Google review
Excellent family day out. Really lovely interactive museum. Great day with 1 and 2 year old toddlers but great for adults and all ages between. Staff were fantastic and awesome covid cleaning and setup
Jennifer McKay — Google review
Extremely busy, long queues with no communication and the service was dire. If you get around that the food is sub par and overpriced. The internals of the coffee machine were dirty enough to drastically affect the taste and they were really funny about using our own travel mugs despite the fact we weren't allowed proper cups as their dishwasher wasn't working.

The Museum of Computing

Specialty Museums
The Museum of Computing is a museum in Swindon, England, dedicated to the history of computing. The museum has exhibits on hands-on displays and retro gaming equipment.
Absolutely fantastic museum. Loads of great exhibits, with really clear information. Best part is there are dozens of hands on machines to play with. Experience what it was like loading games from tape. Play the original Lemmings on an Amiga 500. Set a new high score in Duck Hunt. Staff really friendly too and great for families. Highly recommended.
Andy Twine — Google review
Very interesting museum that demonstrates the birtish impact on modern computers and computer science as it is today. I really liked the exhibits and reminded good old days of my gaming journey. Highly recommended for a family visit.
Sotirios Lyras — Google review
Although it is a small museum, there are lots of nostalgia computers, parts, accessories and even gaming machines. You can even play Nintendo, Sega, Playstation and Atari games too!
Fat Cho — Google review
We booked a private visit for a home ed group today. This included a 2 hour exclusive visit and a scratch coding lesson if wanted (for approx 8years+) The kids had so much fun playing the retro game consoles and on the computers. They also had lots of things in display cases and information all around. Staff were fantastic with the kids and explained how things worked when needed. I honestly cannot recommend enough! Rest assured all the screens and lighting worked perfectly- it is just my camera.
Hiker Mum — Google review
Great little museum lots of retro computers and gaming you can even have a go i really recommend a visit great value friendly volunteers something different to see Rather than your basic museums a hidden gem
craig chapman — Google review
Have lived in Swindon for many years but first time visiting and wish we had sooner! A great little museum for those with any interest in computers or gaming. We had a great time reminiscing on old consoles and devices and playing some classic games before our time.
Jack — Google review
I spent SO MUCH TIME here! It was absolutely fantastic. For the price, I would recommend the museum to anyone with even the most passing interest in technology. An absolute gem of a museum 🤌
Greg Hopkins — Google review
We stumbled upon this place today, and couldn't resist popping in to take a look. Wow! Such an amazing collection, and so many machines on for you to play with. I had a chat with one of the volunteers about the Amiga and Atari ST. He suggested I have a look at the ST, and see if it could match the Amiga (I was an Amiga fan back in the day). Unfortunately, he was busy talking to someone else when it came time to leave, so I wasn't able to confirm that the Amiga was indeed king in that particular battle. Anyway, I digress. The volunteers are friendly and willing to chat if you want to. The price was a massive surprise. For the fun we had, we feel the visit was an absolute bargain. If you have the slightest interest in computers or video games, you have to pay this place a visit.
Stuart Millar — Google review
Great museum we found while in the area today. Entry price is reasonable and a great collection all run by volunteers. Highly recommend paying a visit. Had a great chat with someone in there today about Commodore, and also modern ways to load games on these classic systems like via SD card readers etc. had a go on pong multiplayer, played some c64 and amstrad, plus a great Amiga 1200 fully loaded with games to try.
Marcus Nye — Google review
Visited today and would recommend to anyone with an interest in computing, gaming or just a desire to relive your childhood. Many working usable computers and games consoles ready for you to play on. Friendly, knowledgeable staff on hand and great value for money.
Craig Stevens — Google review
For anyone interested in computing or gaming there's something here. From finding my first computer to seeing the evolution of storage this place is packed with interesting history. Best of all you can get hands on with much of it from early Apple machines to the original Duck Hunt compete with light gun!
Graham Watts — Google review
Fun for all ages (male and female) if you like old and new computer and game 🎮 consoles some you can play on, my Grandaughter didn't want to leave she was enjoying it too much 😁 they also have lego bricks to build your own design or one of theirs. Big thumbs-up 👍 👍👍for a day out. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, very friendly staff, will be definitely coming back.
Jan Arding — Google review
The staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable and wonderful. If you are in the area I would highly recommend giving the place visit. Good range of computers and games consoles. Lot of history available to read and learn. It was a good experience. Kids loved this place. We spent 3 hours there.

Excellent little museum, RAM packed with a multitude of computer paraphernalia from across several decades. Informative AND interactive, what more do you want. Personal highlight was the Nintendo arcade machine. 10/10, would do again yes.

This is a great little place. A couple of friends and I visited Swindon specially and glad we did. It's packed full of exhibits and we spent all afternoon looking around and playing/using some. Mentioned on
Park
Nature & Parks
Stanton Park is a large and varied open space that includes woodlands, meadows and ponds. It's a great place to birdwatch, jog or walk, as well as explore the diversity of plants and animals that call it home.
Great place to come to, whether you have a dog to walk? Or just to leisurely walk around the park? This also connects to Stratton woods and you can walk for miles! You may come across wooden sculptures around the wooded areas! Have actually watched the guys making them during my many visits here. Huge free car park here, but can easily fill up! One bad thing, is the single road entrance! Can be frustrating if you come across an arrogant driver on entry or exit. Has a small cafe here, but have never used it. I like to come here.👍 Worth a visit.
Gary Mchugh (Gam) — Google review
Beautiful place to visit, cafe, toilets etc, lovely place to spend the day walking through the trees, some awesome carvings to look at too.
Sandra Joy — Google review
We love coming here with Mr 3. So many different trails to take. Lots of wildlife. Plus the sculptures are fantastic! Free parking too
Z L — Google review
Easy to find, great free parking, dogs are allowed and it's a lovely walk for family and friends.
Carl Gilbert — Google review
It is one of the best country parks in Swindon. Nice lake, water streams, 🐏, and great walking trails. Wooden sculptures are beautiful. Great for walking, jogging, running, and cycling. Also worth spending a day with nature. The negative part is that hooligans who damage the park and its sculptures
Neeraj Jha — Google review
Great park for walking with kids. Good wooden sculptures to see, small rural cafe, pond with ducks and swans and forest to walk.
Julija B — Google review
Walked through to the park from the hotel. There are several good (boots are best) paths immediately around the lake area and much more widely up past the cemetery into Stratton Woods. There is some signage but more would be useful. We walked 5 miles in all, but got lost on a seemingly simple red arrowed circular route in Stratton Woods. Lots of dog walkers, kids, big enough area for all, some benches, but not many. Parking is extensive and sometimes tea and cake is open in the adjacent house (volunteers) which is excellent, every time. There is a loo at the back of the house/tearoom but not sure if it's permanently open. Wood carvings around the trails are good to spot and an events board advertises activities in season.
Mel Hearn — Google review
Had a late afternoon walk around the lake and the woods. Very enjoyable in the sunshine. The paths were generally good, just a few muddy patches. Definitely recommend the park for walking.
Graham Hutchinson — Google review
Not a crowded park, which is great for us! Recommend to come to in your Wellies or boots as it is very muddy at some routes.
Ke De Huang — Google review
Fantastic Park - I regularly work in Swindon and find the evenings very boring and was very pleased to find this little gem. It will become my new place to run while working away, there's a nice mix of walking trails ranging from 1km to 5km with a mix of gravel paths to hard pack mud/bark which makes it perfect for running around and exploring the woods. I ran around 6PM and the park wasn't too busy and allowed me to run around most paths at my own pace without getting in the way. Very well maintained paths and parks well worth a visit and the car parking was free
Lee Parker — Google review
Great winter walk with dogs, kids and cousins. Kids loved the wood carvings and climbing fallen trees. I'm in a wheelchair and access was easy apart from a tree that was blown onto the path by storm Arwen, so I needed a push or 2 when off roading. A cold day finished off with hot chocolate and cake for very reasonable prices.

Sights & Landmarks
The Palladian-style country house and sprawling parkland of Lydiard Park is open to the public in summer when you can explore opulent state rooms and the Georgian walled garden. There's also heritage cider, apples and honey produced on the estate.
Lovely park, nice walks and good facilities. Ample parking which is reasonably priced (you can pay via app). I find something new every time I go.
Glenn Goodall — Google review
I had a fantastic day yesterday at Lydiard Park, Swindon. My crew and I went to film an interview and we automatically fell in love with the venue, the staff was friendly as well. Lydiard Park is over 26,000 acres what a beautiful place, it has a fountain as well and I saw a lot of nice birds. I highly recommend this Park for your relaxation, family picnic and huge events, it will definitely serve a lot of purpose.
Love Mba — Google review
Points to note: • Parking is adequate at best, so please make sure you have plenty of time to look for a place. But wardens are very nice and helped us with directions to Event after we parked the car. • A lovely Easter Egg Trail event. Lovely staff, pleasant atmosphere and great guided start. The clear weather made it one of the best things to do for Easter Sunday in a long while. Trail took us to all around the Park, kids filled in the provided egg hints paper and was very well worth it. • The House museum is highly recommended, the rooms and the button-operated commentary was a good educational experience for all. • The little Tea Room next to Trail was pretty cramped and was told only when I reached the counter that there was a further 20 minutes delay, and that was after a 20 minute wait in the queue, so I recommend to bring with you some drinks/snacks for kids. • Kids play area in the middle of the Country Park is well equipped for young children. Definitely recommend you to visit it, but please do plan ahead and give ample time for parking if driving here.

Beautiful park, lots of green areas to run around and play or have a picnic, great place for a lovely walk and have an ice cream :) toilets near the cafe and 2 big playgrounds
Gabby Florean — Google review
Wonderful free public park on the edge of Swindon. Great open space for games, picnics and walks and plenty of great play equipment for the kids. Take a break at the cafe or grab an ice cream. Don't miss a visit to Lydiard House to see life from a bygone age.
Kevin Logan — Google review
Beautiful lake and park toilets not looked after by council lots of complaining by people. Cafe very basic. Park had hardly any seating for parents to sit on. Adventure Park best to book staff great.
Andrena Forrest — Google review
Lydiard Park a stately home with a chequered past and some Royal connections. There aren't many rooms to see, but they are interesting but it has a small entrance fee. It is an interesting place to visit. The Courtyard cafe is lovely and good value. St Mary's Church is fascinating and open some weekends. There is a car parking charge but the grounds and lake are free to enjoy.
Christopher Watkins — Google review
We've always loved Lydiard Park. There is a choice of 2 cafes, both do lovely coffee, food, snacks and ice cream. The toilets at the stable cafe are nicer than the ones by the park which could do with an upgrade. The park is fab for big kids and little kids. There is a great walk around the grounds too. The parking is cheap, £2.20 for 2 hours or £4.40 all day. A bargain when you look at places around Swindon that are far more expensive.
Wendy Braidford — Google review
Lovely big area of parkland with wide open spaces, lake, cafe, toilets. Clearly growing dandelions. Great for short and medium flat walking. Parking available although charged.
Matthew W — Google review
I’ve just got back from a lovely day out here with a group of friends. I highly recommend it. We went to see the house- small but fascinating , with recordings of information in each room. Then walked around the grounds that had some magnificent trees and views. Then a delicious and excellent value lunch at the stables coffee shop, all made and served by hard working and charming staff. Then we toured the church and had an informed volunteer point out things of interest, I was particularly impressed by the 15(?)c wall paintings. Finally and spectacularly a stroll around the walled garden that I have to say is almost perfect, such beautiful blooms. We all loved it, and would recommend the place to anyone wanting a genteel day out at a hidden treasure

Lovely big area to walk the dog. Very very busy though. Cute little tearoom in the stable but limited cakes etc
Lydia Taylor Sheppard — Google review
Wonderful hidden gem! Not been since a child and forgot about it! Kids loved it, they can roam. Beautiful lake, lovely play area with a Cafe. Didn't go into the house. The grounds are immaculate not one bit of rubbish! Would loved to be able to go into the church though
Jess Hennessy — Google review
Beautiful place and free the enter the grounds, only £6 to go into the house. There's not many rooms to look at but that's reflected in the price (I won't share those pictures #spoiler). Cafe, and tea rooms are well stocked. Nice option for short walks, huge park for the kids too. The field have BBQ pit set up ready to use.. We drove into a small housing and turned around because we thought we had gone wrong, but we hadn't, trust the sat nav!
Toni Atkins — Google review
Lovely place for young families with excellent play area and lovely walks. The beautifully decorated Georgian rooms in the house are well worth a visit with excellent audio descriptions available. Good food in the cafe - what more do you want?
Sheila Joynes — Google review
A historical park good for walking and biking. Parked the car (pay by phone app). Immediately saw green field. Then walked to St Mary’s Church. Another building of 1100 years history. We were very lucky to have a guided tour into the church as we accidentally met the leader of conservation project at the church entrance. He was so kind to explain the fascinating history of the church.
pam kwai — Google review
We love Lydiard! family fun all year round, winter welly walks to summer picnics. Visiting the horses, cows and pigs, feeding the squirrels and ducks. You can also visit the house for a small fee and 2 cafes to chose from for refreshments. We also love the trails that are put up around the park. And of course the children love the play park.

Pythouse Kitchen Garden is a rustic, wooden-floored restaurant located in a Victorian walled garden. The menu features vegetable-based dishes cooked over wood or charcoal. Dishes are delicious and hearty, and the atmosphere is lovely with views of the gardens. The restaurant also offers monthly Tales from the Kitchen Garden which are well written and informative.
We sat on the terrace on a sunny day and it was beautiful. The food is fresh and unbelievably tasty. They’ve thought about the small details and the decor is lovely. My favourite touch is the monthly Tales from the Kitchen Garden on the back of the menu which is so well written 👌🏼will be coming back again and again.

Everything about this place is unique. We’ve had a few meals here over the years and I think I found it in the ‘extra mile guide’ initially. The events are fantastic and the food is always top notch. Vegetarian options and plant based dining is a must if that’s what you’re after! Parking is a little tight sometimes but that just shows how loved it is. Great ambience and location and even the drive down from the A303 is enjoyable 😁
Stephen Woodward (Woody) — Google review
My partner and I were travelling to Glastonbury and wanted somewhere to stop for lunch and in our research we came across Pythouse Kitchen Garden and what a find it was!! The location and venue is exceptional - even on a grey, rainy day it was the perfect place to be for a fantastic meal. The staff were incredible, attentive and most importantly nailed the timing between courses. They provided the perfect amount of interaction and personal touch whilst also allowing you to enjoy your meal. It truly feels like a family run venue which is special. The food matches all the other 5* aspects of this restaurant. The story behind the restaurant, how the food is sourced is amazing and they bring that quality through to what is on the plate. I have already recommended it to friends and will continue to do so and we will certainly be back. Thanks so much for a great experience!
Jack Coxall — Google review
A wonderful experience having lunch here - I can’t recommend highly enough. The place is absolutely beautiful with its natural, horticultural themed decoration. The dining room is in a south-facing conservatory overlooking a walled garden in the foreground - from which many of the ingredients are picked - and the west Wiltshire downs beyond. The food was exceptional. It’s a 3-course seasonal menu; we were there at the end of Autumn. For mains, a range of vegetable dishes are served with a choice of something ‘from the fire’ - we had Chalkstream trout with Jerusalem artichoke hearts & sprouting broccoli, and haunch of venison with malt-glazed squash & pickled blackberry. Both were outstanding: the trout as a complete dish, and the venison alone mouth-watering. The courgette was my favourite side, closely followed by roast pink fir potatoes with smoked cream and venison heart bottarga. Burnt pumpkin cheesecake a nice way to finish. At £30 pp I think this is incredible value for money. A friendly, professional service team completed the experience.

Amazing find, thanks to Giles Corren review in The Times. The food was from a limited fixed price menu but perfect for lunch. All either grown in the garden or locally sourced, delicious. We were even encouraged to walk around the beautiful garden between courses.

We are just on the way back from Pythouse kitchen and what an experience this was! Food is outstanding, fresh, innovative yet familiar flavours cooked to perfection. My chicken dish was a masterclass in chicken cookery. Fino cocktail was amazing ! Great, cosy atmosphere of old farm house. Service was superb, lady who served us was fabulous, attentive and friendly. Overall fantastic experience and for the price they are charging it was an absolute feast!
Kasia Elliott — Google review
One of the most accomplished lunches we’ve ever eaten. The setting is beautiful and the greeting is warm and welcoming. Lots/most of the ingredients come from the gardens; should you eat outside, you can spend your time visually consuming the very food you’re eating. The menu is unique and well rounded. Every dish is prepared sympathetically to it’s surroundings and lovingly presented on delightful tableware. It was all delicious. There’s nothing more to say, other than you won’t want to leave a single scrap. In summary, we completely fell for the Pythouse kitchen and we are returning with more family members in a couple of weeks, for another (of what we hope to be many) lunches in the garden.

What a wonderful experience it is to eat here. Stunningly beautiful setting. Staff attentive and the food - just wow. The combination of flavours work so well together from the starters right through to desserts. Good value set price menu as well, considering the amount of food you get. Thank you Pythouse staff. Am sure to return.

Excellent Ingredients Served with Passion Its not ‘gastro’ or ‘bistro’ or any other kind of ‘o’, but if you are looking for food quality on the plate, friendly service, and a reasonably priced and thoughtful wine list, look no further. For lunch, a single starter of Rye Crisp Breads, Flamingo Pea whip, and garden XO sauce, suggests the kitchen can stretch a long way beyond Sunday roast (we went on a Sunday). The seasonal vegetables were cooked to perfection, our beef a tad tough (supplier issue I think), good yorks pud, and serious deserts. Thank you team x

My fiancé and I had a really lovely experience yesterday at PKG. We were warmly welcomed and the serving staff were all so lovely and pleasant. Our waitress in particular was genuinely happy to help us. The food was equally as impressive, we were blown away by the autumnal menu. Struggled to choose off the menu because it all sounded so delicious- and it was! Would highly recommend and will back very soon. Thank you!

I was dubious of having a 'set menu' with limited choice but wow the food was incredible. Melt in your mouth beef with well thought out side of vegetables to accompany it. The setting of the restaurant is beautiful and the open fire place added to the cosy feeling. The staff were helpful and friendly and never did you feel rushed to finish.

Just fantastic and brilliant value! I managed to squeeze in for a quick coffee and snack before full service started on Sunday. Found by accident and proven an unforgettable experience. Delicious! I’ll be back!

Just the most magical food: rare to find somewhere that has a flavour signature so distinctive, where every dish works I’m harmony and such unusual flavours suddenly seem like old friends. And in such a gorgeous spot too - and for this quality of food it’s REALLY cheap. Unreserved recommend.

Wonderful venue. Very good food. Very well presented with pretty garnishes. Worth the money for three courses. In fact the only down side would be if you couldn't manage three courses, as it's a set price. We felt satisfied but not uncomfortably full. Can't wait to go back with more friends and family :-)

The guide describes Restaurant Hywel Jones by Lucknam Park as a lavish Palladian mansion with opulent decor and luxurious furnishings. The dining experience is considered formal, sophisticated, and grand, matching the overall ambiance of the place. The head chef, Hywel Jones, has been leading the restaurant since 2004 and his expertise is evident in the excellent food and service provided.
This is how a Michelin star experience should look like! From the moment you step into the beautiful and elegant country manor you are invited for welcome drinks that you can chose to sip on in the most stunning library, while picking your menu and the wine to complement. The dinner then takes place in the dining room, and even though it’s a 8 course menu you don’t feel overly full. The dishes are made with great attention to detail and taste phenomenal, it’s a wonderful place for a romantic dinner for two, Highly recommend !

Fantastic experience. Worthy of the michelin. Enjoyed every course of the tasting menu. Service was brilliant. Will definitely be back
Charlie Aw — Google review
I dined at Hywel Jones last week during my trip to the Cotswolds and had a mixed experience. First off, the good - the food and wine were amazing. We chose to do the à la carte menu and each dish was so balanced. The amuse bouche which was a parsnip mash was incredible. The dishes were also beautifully constructed. Now on to the bad - the hostess was awful and quite abrasive. She barely looked us in the eye and kind of tossed us the menus. She said she would send the sommelier over and walked off. As this was our first encounter with the staff, it instantly left a sour taste in my mouth. Luckily the rest of the staff were lovely. I had dined with 2 other people and we all realized that we had felt the same coldness from the hostess when discussing the dinner after the fact. A few minor things we noted about the service was that no one removed the crumbs from our table between courses and our napkins were not placed on our laps. These are things we have experienced at other Michelin star restaurants in France etc and while minor, they do enhance the dining experience.
Himashi Hettege Dona — Google review
We ate here twice during our stay. The first time was in an oppresively small room with zero ambience, but we ate off the al acarte menu which was delicious and the service excellent. The second time we were in the main room where there was more ambience (re: noise), but the service was shocking - massive waits between the taster menu meant we didn't get out until 2.5hrs later (11:30pm) - was also disappointing compared to the al acarte.

Stunning venue. Electric gates. Beautiful grounds. Great first impressions. Drinks in a beautiful room whilst perusing the menu. Then you're taken through to the the restaurant. 7 course taster menu. £140. If you want a paired wine selection £130 (approx). I opted out of the wine due to driving. So far as expected. Unfortunately the majority of the food courses were average. With the exceptions being the cheese and the raspberry dessert. Dissapointed. But the Team were so lovely that I didn't want to ruin their evenings by complaining.
Dan Hayes — Google review
Extremely fresh and tasty ingredients (scallop was the best I've had)! Prepared and served well, waiters were prompt, kind and welcoming. Sommeliers were interested and good at explaining, the passion was certainly there and I had some excellent wines with their standard pairing. Total time for the meal was 2:45hrs (we didn't take it slow but also not rushing 😉) at around £250pp with wine pairing, you could definitely take longer if you'd like to have pre and post drinks coffee etc in their fantastic garden/library. They have a smart casual dress code, but it's a rather relaxed atmosphere in a grand old dining room. PS. Breakfasts and afternoon tea were absolutely fantastic and service impeccable too.
Max Mortished — Google review
The food was absolutely excellent, and the service as well. The only thing I would say is that the set up of the dining room is makes it feel extraordinarily stuffy. It seems to be organised so that everyone can see everyone else, so there is little intimacy of any.

A really lovely pub and B&B, IN A lovely village setting. The meals are great, the staff really helpful. Chatty too. The rooms are comfortable and clean, nothing is too much trouble shower in our ground floor room was rather high off floor but with a step easy to use. As a large group of adults and young children it can be difficult to balance the needs of both, however, the White Horse was excellent. The outdoor spaces were fantastic for the children to run around and the service and attention to detail was exceptional. For our meals, the timings were prompt and the food outstanding. Every member of staff we met went out of their way to ensure our experience was 5*, which it was. Planning a return for further family events and will be recommending widely. Huge thanks.

We were briefly in the area for completely unconnected reasons, and the person we were visiting recommended The White Horse as a good place to have Sunday lunch before we headed back to Worcestershire. The pub is very popular but they managed to fit us in, and the food was delicious. Clearly it was cooked by a proper chef, and everything was perfect and made with quality ingredients. The White Horse beer I had was well kept too. Everyone received a friendly welcome, and there were lots of locals, some of whom were just popping in for a drink with the dog. Thoroughly recommend.

Went there for Sunday lunch with my daughter and sister. The things I do!!! The service was superb. With our roast beef medium rare and juicy. All 3 of us had different deserts all raved about their own. Nice split between eating in the bar or in other rooms. We will return.

Came here for a Sunday roast and was absolutely outstanding. Best roast I've had in a long time. Staff lovely and will definitely be returning if we're back in the area.

This is a real gem! Worth a side trip. Very quiet, a little terrace off our room for enjoying a cup of tea. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the food is the best I've had in 10 days in England. Enjoyed a beautifully cooked duck breast for dinner and luscious scrambled eggs and salmon for breakfast. Everything top notch down to really delicious orange marmalade. If you're going to Avebury Henge - which is really interesting - this is a great place to stay.

Can't fault anything about a thoroughly enjoyable night and dinner at the White Horse Inn. When we arrived the manager/owner(?) was welcoming and our room was clean, spacious and had a nice view over the garden. The main pub is cosy (loved the fairy light festooned beams) and dinner (and breakfast) was delicious, with just the right level of attention from the young guy looking after us. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Honestly one of the best pub Sunday lunches I've had for ages. Simple menu of roasts and pub classics with one or two more modern gastropub options but incredibly well cooked and with obviously high quality ingredients. Lovely tastefully decorated dining room but also a proper country pub vibe in the bar at the front. Highly recommended!

Excellent Pub, booked with Chris on the telephone, for a table of four for Sunday lunch. Gluten free option for one diner, we arrived and were greeted and instructed on where to find our table. Within moments, another staff member showed us to our table, took our coats, and asked for our drinks choices. The service was excellent, food was too. I noted water was available on the table, and replenished throughout our meal. Napkins were cloth, not paper as in some establishments. These are both a good sign of a high quality venue, and we will definitely return as often as possible, looking forward to summer!

I came twice in the same week (Monday dinner and Thursday lunch) and both times were excellent. Very dog friendly, great selection of non-alcoholic beers, fantastic food and service. Would definitely recommend a visit!

We have been away for a week all the way up to Loch Fyne where we sampled some amazing food. On our way back down we stopped in the area and found the White Horse Inn on Google maps. We can only say we saved the best til last, atmosphere and food to rival any. Highly recommend.

One word... BEAUTIFUL! Absolutely loved our stay here. The owner was absolutely lovely. Very polite and friendly and nicely spoken. What a really really nice man. Very warm and welcoming. Food was absolutely delicious and portions were very generous. Nothing was too much trouble and smiles were part of the norm! Gorgeous rooms and gardens. Just loved it here. Definitely, without a doubt, be coming back. Would definitely give MORE than 5 stars if there was an option ! Very highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Thank you" to the owners for a beautiful stay.

Absolutely love this place. The rooms - clean, comfortable, quiet and sensibly priced. Service - excellent, nothing is too much trouble. The food - just superb. Two evening meals and enjoyed every single crumb. Best food I've eaten in a long long time. When work allows I will definitely be returning

Booked this place with great expectations, but felt it was overpriced. My husband had lamb & it was stringy. My daughter & I had the veggie option which wasn’t nice. Would prefer a veggie burger from our local kebab house!

Fabulous pub in every way, a real gem! A really warm welcome and despite us not having booked, they found us a table in the comfortable bar area. Super efficient service, a perfect blend of efficiency and friendliness .Regulars came and went and all dealt with like they were friends. Beautifully styled everywhere, nothing pretentious or over done. And the food!!! Sublime Sunday lunch! Just wished we lived closer but would wholeheartedly recommend. 👍☺️

Exceptional atmosphere, staff, service. We stumbled across this place on google maps and every expectation was exceeded. Lovely staff on the bar, easy service, fire, fairy lights: LOVE! No complaints but a heads up that kitchen is closed 2:30-6pm. Wish it was my local!

Just popped in for Sunday lunch so rooms n/a. Had 2 platters for the four of us. Great meal - very impressed. Good beer and other drinks. Good service. Thought the desserts were a little overpriced but were very good. Thought the acknowledgements to the suppliers was a nice touch. Worth a visit!

We went to the White Horse Inn for a valentines day meal, the menu is not the same as they put up on the website but it was still a great menu with a good variety. The scotch egg started is a must for anybody who is a fan of them. The two mains and pudding were also very nice, all the food we had was nice and it was a good price for the quality. The only complaint would be when we were waiting for dessert they started making the tables up for breakfast which we didn't mind at all but the nice young server had the wrong plates and the way he was spoken to by the taller large member of staff who i presume was a manager was pretty disgusting, I think the landlord/owner should have a word with him as we didn't like seeing the nice server spoken to like dirt when he had done a great job and was just trying to do his job, just tell him he has the wrong plates and treat your staff with some respect.

Good afternoon - my Mum, brother and I stayed at the White Horse, on Saturday 9 December 9 2023, whilst visiting family in the area. It was a shame we only stayed the one night as we would have loved to have eaten in the restaurant. The rooms are really quite charming with good quality linens and everything one could want from a good selection of drinks to a lovely patio area. The bar and restaurant are really cosy and our breakfast was delicious. The produce is of a really high quality and we loved the fact the details of the produce are displayed in the bar area. The staff were fantastic: welcoming and warm. We will definitely be back. Congratulations on creating a wonderful ambience. Kind regards Jayne, Carole & Andrew Foster.

The Three Daggers is a stylish and contemporary pub that offers comfortable rooms and hearty food. It also has a microbrewery on site and a farm shop, making it an enjoyable place to visit. The staff are welcoming and the ale is top-notch, making this a great place to spend a night or two.
I can understand why this is an award winning pub. They grow many of their own ingredients on their farm and source from local producers which I always like to hear. They also serve traditional English beers. The pub itself dates back to the 18th century in the heart of the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Edington is seeped in history of King Alfred the Great defeating the Heathen army. There are some lovely walks in the area including the White Horse dedicated to King Alfred. The food here is exquisite. Beautifully presented and a delight to the taste buds. I had the Gressingham Duck breast with Roscoff onion, chestnut purée and Beetroot Pommes Anna. My husband had Chicken Supreme with green beans in Parma ham with wild mushroom sauce. We were a party of six and we all throughly enjoyed our meals. This is now on our favourite places to dine list. There were good options for vegetarians. The service was good. It is a big place with it’s own lovely farm shop on the same site. Adequate parking. The bar area and snug are dog friendly.

This is such a lovely pub with the best fish and chips I've had so far. Very welcoming and friendly, even for the furry four legged customers. They even have their own microbrewery and you can take some home in a growler to enjoy at home. And don't forget to check out their farm shop that is filled with locally sourced items. I can't wait to check out the garden in the summer.

We visited the farmshop and they had the most incredible sausage rolls (real sausage meat stuffing!!), beef and ale pies (amazing filling - moist as ever and of course the fabulous scotch eggs! The pub was fully booked for lunch - so we settled down for the farm house goodies! A must visit!

We came here for a Sunday roast, I have always loved this pub but the last two visits haven’t been the same, food was average on both occasions (used to be fantastic) the young girls who served us were amazing, they actually made up for the bad atmosphere that I can only say are the owners/management! Such a shame to find owners with no smiles or customer service!!

Nice local pub. Plenty of space, friendly staff, good food and very good beer made on the spot. The only thing I could complain about is that the food portions could be slightly bigger.

We’ve been to the Three Daggers about 7 times now and enjoyed lunches, dinners and Sunday roasts. Can’t recommend them enough. Lovely interior, dog friendly, good staff and the food is absolutely top notch. Seasonal produce, always plenty of choice and generous servings. Ideal for a date night, dinner with family/friends or a delicious roast after a nice walk. No it’s not cheap, but you wouldn’t really expect it to be for the quality that you get.

An Amazing 🤩 find….. don’t tell anyone but it has great food, excellent onsite brewed beers, and the rooms are very well appointed with a premium “homely” feel… the “priory” room is a peach and well worth the price asked. Staff are smiley and happy to help, we even brought our poorly behaved sausage dog with us and she was made to feel very welcome. hats off to the owner and staff for exceeding our expectations, which so often get dashed on the rocks these days with poor service or over hyped quality….. not this time thankfully… highly recommended …… we will be back

We love this place! Great location, superb food (we ordered burgers and had no expectation, but they were absolutely delicious!), comfortable room (excellent shower and attention to details - someone has a interior design gift!) and nice atmosphere. It was our second stay and we never go back anywhere. We received lovely welcome from Steven. Nothing was a problem for him, so warm and professional. Konstantin who gave us great service during the dinner. Also the lady during the delicious breakfast who was a lovely ray of sunshine. This place is well organised, and well looked after, we felt welcomed and comfortable. Thank you, guys!

Fabulous evening last night with friends at the 🗡 🗡 🗡 . Our food was delicious from start to finish, service was good and the welcome was warm. Would definitely recommend. I had the goat's curd to start, chicken Kiev (which was outstanding) and cheese board.

This is easily our favourite pub/restaurant in the area. Service always attentive, professional yet friendly, food is exceptionally good and also good value, good selection of wines and ales, very clean throughout, and dog friendly too. Could do with more vegetarian options but otherwise perfect. Although no vegetarian/vegan option for Sunday lunch, a meat free option (veg and Yorkshire pudding) was available for only £10 - tremendous value and excellent quality!

Delicious food, fantastic staff, a beautiful romantic evening. Staff were fantastic at dealing with coeliac diner and there were lots of different options. Delicious drinks and the seafood was fresh, flavourful and fine quality.

We came for Sunday lunch on Easter Sunday. We booked a 2:45pm table and were sat in the conservatory which was lovely. Speedy service to begin with we all ordered Roast dinners (3 lamb and 1 Porchetta and a child’s roast) all came hot which was great, husbands lamb was very fatty and for £25 it’s just not what you expect, cauliflower cheese was overcooked, no sauce in sight and we were served 3 portions not 4 but didn’t ask for the 4th as it wasn't missed, child's peas weren’t cooked fully so she didn’t eat them (she loves peas) and with her not opting for meat or gravy it was a fairly large part of her veg. We then waited nearly an hour for deserts which was crazy and when they came the bread and butter puddings were nice but the brownie was over cooked and dry (quite surprised at that as it was really not good). Such a shame, we live in a neighbouring village and recommend the pub (even to family who have stayed in the pub recently) but this was disappointing for our first Sunday roast at the 3 daggers, we sadly wouldn’t return for a Sunday lunch again because the price tag is too high to not be sure you’re going to love the food. Such a real shame. A waiter did apologise for the slow service on the deserts. The atmosphere was nice and we did have a nice relaxing time with our family just such a shame about the food.

Lovely cosy pub, great selection of drinks. Getting a drink took some time as the staff were busy talking to each other or doing admin which clearly, couldn't be paused. One round the bar man didn't speak to me at all. Wine was lovely, alcohol free gin was great. Service disappointing

Baroushka is a Middle Eastern eatery near Stonehenge that offers a warm and romantic setting. They serve a variety of Middle Eastern mezze, tagine dishes, and unique wines. The restaurant has received 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor from over 700 reviews, indicating its popularity among customers. While the menu does not specify which items are vegetarian or vegan, it seems that approximately half of the main dishes are suitable for vegetarians.
Fantastic Service and Very friendly staff. The food was great we ordered a lot 😂 even though the restaurant was pretty full the staff are always helpful.as you can see from our pictures the food looked awesome and tasted great.

We arrived at the restaurant without booking, the restaurant was extremely busy but the staff were very helpful and they managed to find a table for us. We ordered two starters- Kibbe and Pistachio Lamb Kofta- two mains- Rosemary and Pistachio Seasoned Lamb and a Trio of Meat Platter- and one dessert- Pistachio and Rose Petals Cheesecake. We enjoyed starters and mains but the dessert was a let down, it was basically a New York cheesecake. Friendly and helpful service.

Amazing place! Even though there were a lot of people, the staff and chefs served the guests in good time and with full professionalism. amazing food, high quality, very nicely presented. Vegetarian and fish dishes are really worth recommending. The place is very clean and well-kept. The location is perfect for a walk around the city center. The best place I've been to recently! I recommend!

Surprising gem in Salisbury! The ambience was lively, buzzing, and social! The food was better than expected - huge serving size for a platter! Great service all around.

The service here was particularly good, the staff were really attentive and on it. The food was super tasty and we both loved our drinks too. I had the vegan tagine and it was full of flavour and different foods to try. My husband had the melting beef and said although the beef was good, it wasn't worth the price (but also said it was the best rice he had ever had). The overall atmosphere and decor was great.

The food was great and I would totally recommend the spice crusted duck breast and the sweet potato falafel. It did take a bit for servers to get to us but that was most likely due to the many customers. The music was a bit too loud but otherwise everything was very pleasant

Had a lovely family dinner here. The place is clean and the server was patient with my family, who are new to Middle Eastern cuisine. The array of appetiser and main entrée were delicious! Love the Mezze platter and kibbeh. The mixed grill platter was very much generous.Definitely recommend Barouskha!

Arrived around 9pm. Ambience and decor was very nice. Friendly lady greeted me and mentioned they close in 45 mins. I asked if the food was Halal but she was not sure what I meant. I asked again if it was Halal and she said yes all the food is halal. However, I opted for the chargrilled king prawns. Took about 20 minutes to arrive. The lady did come in between and apologised fir the delay. Presentation of the meal was good. The portion was not as expected. It was 4 pieces of king prawn, sauce and a small portion of rice with a very small amount of salad. The prawns did not seem chargrilled. The sauce was really nice. The smaller prawns were nice and tasty. The larger ones were difficult to cut and tasted undercooked. I told the lady my disappointment at the end and she apologised. She explained she was not the manager. I asked her to tell the manager and the chef too. She said she will do this and took my plate away. She came back with the bill which had 10% discount but no response from kitchen or manager. I paid and left.

We thought we should try something new this time, so we booked a table at Baroushka. We called ahead, some days prior, to reserve a table. We were told there was a two for one voucher promo going on for £20. We paid for this online. When we arrived, the place was relatively free and we got the opportunity to move to another table as we didn't like the one reserved for us. It was a bit close to the bar area. Order time came and we presented our voucher for scanning and got handed the Autumn menu to make a selection. For appetisers, we ordered the Pomegranate Molasses with Pita and Lamb Flatbread. These were quite tasty and well done. The Pitta was an interesting choice. There was a consistency to the chew and it tasted somewhere between hardboiled egg and cheese. It was delicious!. The lamb flatbread tested like an oven baked pizza but with less dough. The main course was a plate of Meat and Sausage Skewers, Paring Salad, Egyptian Coleslaw and a side of Rice and also Mince Chicken & Lamb, tobouleh and rice. We thought these weren't going to be enough to go round for three and so we ordered the Mix Grill (costs £38.2). This took about fifteen minutes to be ready and when it was delivered to our table, we realised it was a little bit more than we had hoped. We instead opted for it to be packed as a takeaway, which the team obliged. The staff were polite and helpful, willing to go an extra length to delight patrons. The interior itself was relatively clean. I do think however that the ambience was a bit dark. Overall, we had a good time at Baroushka and would be back to try something else on the menu. There is an optional service charge on the bill, to be paid at the discretion of diners. I think this should be discussed before being put on the bill for payment. P.S there's no free parking but there are loads of paid parking in the city centre and around the Maltings.

This has been one of the worst lunch experiences I’ve had in a long time. I travelled 45 minutes to try their food after seeing their reviews on here. Really disappointed with the food and the staff today especially after seeing all the 5* reviews. I was expecting more than what I got. I came in for lunch and being vegan I ordered the aubergine frites, stuffed vine leaves, and sweet potato fries. I asked if the aubergine frites could be made vegan and the waiter said they were vegan “it’s fine”. I corrected him and said that the feta it comes with is not vegan. He didn’t seem to understand which made me nervous about ordering so I asked for another waiter who was fine and made the adjustments for me. The food came and looked so unappetising especially the stuffed vine leaves which were poorly wrapped with white gooey?? stuff on the outside- nothing like the images they have on their socials. The aubergine frites were supposed to have pomegranate and tahini on top (minus the feta) but it came without anything, just plain aubergine. It turned out that it usually comes with a sauce that combined all those ingredients together and so by omitting the feta, I couldn’t have the sauce. Neither the menu nor the waiter made it clear, it sounded like separate ingredients. No one came to check how our meal was the whole time we were there and considering there were only 5 customers in the restaurant at that time, I find that strange. When we requested the bill, I queried the vine leaves and was told that the white stuff was congealed olive oil from transit because they buy them in. I just wanted to understand what I was ordering and judging by their tone it seemed like I was inconveniencing them just by asking which made me feel bad. It was also so cold in the restaurant we felt we had to wear our coats. I didn’t feel as if I could ask the waiter for the heating to be put on because of everything else that had gone on. It was a sad meal and so disappointing when I had such high hopes for a great meal.

Cool place with lovely atmosphere and great middle eastern food. Service staff must have been in training when I was there; dishes were brought to the wrong tables, response was close to slow, got a fork with the dessert. But the tastes made it easily forgivable.

The food was amazing. They offer dine in and take away. The staff were very helpful and lovely. It's better to go in the evening as there is free parking at the maltings which is just a few minutes walk. The place seemed a bit dark for me. Will definitely visit again as the food was one of the best nearby.
