What an inspiring place! Wonderful aromas, fantastic ceramic and an unforgettable view. An absolute must when you’re around Ragusa or in Sicily in general.

Wonderful tour and dining experience! It s great to see such unique and creative local herb farm/event center, the owner has lots of herb farming knowledge and speaks perfect English. I learned some interesting facts about herbs and it was very entertaining 😁 such a bubbly personality. Must visit in sicily.

Fantastic aroma plant nursery in Scicli, Ragusa, Sicily, passionately run by the owner Rossini family. Wonderful healthy lunch. Balcony view of the sea.

A wonderful experience that fills all the senses! An incredible view, the scent of a huge array of beautiful herbs and the taste of wonderful food prepared with love as is the Sicilian way! Enrico gave the tour in the most natural bilingual way I’ve ever seen, with humour and warmth. His passion for what he does is obvious. We enjoyed every minute.. in fact we were the last to leave after our delicious lunch because it’s the sort of place you’d just stay in all day. Can’t wait to come back!
Yvonne Farrell — Google review
Enrico and his wife are excellent guides/hosts. Who knew learning about herbs could be so interesting and fun. Then, lunch..simple and delicious, and made with fresh herbs! It was a wonderful experience! So, of course, Up bought a cookbook, and apron. I highly recommend visiting Enrico's farm...maybe at sunset with a little bruschetta and vino.. worth the trip

I do not have enough words to describe my amazing visit at Gli Aromi. The place itself is magical, offering stunning views over the Sicilian countryside. The tour is extremely informative and unique in its genre, the atmosphere is intimate and Enrico (owner and host) is the true highlight of the experience: super friendly, fun and knowledgeable, he will entertain you and make sure you'll remember this multi sensorial experience for many years to come!

WOW. Talk about making someone's day! Spending one day in Pozzallo and Scicli, I looked online for an excursion to visit whilst in Sicily. I found gi Aromi on trip advisor and was SO excited to check it out based on the picture and what others had to say about the herb farm. I called in the morning and set up a tour in the afternoon. Enrique was SO very flexible and kind, it was never an issue that I was the only one touring that afternoon, he was more than happy to fit me in and show just me around. The entire facility is beautifully situated in the Sicilian countryside and I would love to return for one of the many yearly events he told me about. (Specialty dishes, concerts, retreats, weddings etc!) He is so very warm, kind and obviously very passionate about what he does. I would HIGHLY recommend stopping in to say hello and see the beautiful farm. I never once felt like a guest, much more like a friend. He even gave some local recommendations for tasty eats and cannoli! Thank you so much for my favorite memory from Sicily!!! I hope to return someday.
Carli Fluegge — Google review
I had the most incredible experience at the herbal farm run by Enrico! From the moment I arrived, it was clear that he is not only knowledgeable about herbs but also a fun, passionate, charismatic, and caring human being. His enthusiasm for the plants and their uses was infectious, and I learned so much during my visit. The farm itself is nestled in a picturesque location with a breathtaking view that is especially stunning at sunset. It's the perfect setting to connect with nature and unwind. Enrico's guidance and storytelling made the entire visit truly memorable. I highly recommend this herbal farm experience, especially if you want to learn, relax, and witness a stunning sunset. Enrico's warmth and expertise make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a unique and enriching adventure.

Enrico and Rita provided my family with the most amazing lunch and tour experience. Enrico’s humor, passion and knowledge blends together seamlessly as he walks us through thousands of herbs, encouraging us to taste and smell, quizzing us on what we tried. His business vision is truly neat to experience firsthand. Rita’s cooking was delicious, encapsulating many of the scents and flavors we just experienced! We took home beautiful preserves to enjoy at home. A must-do and true highlight on our Sicilian vacation
Steven Haderer — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing. The herbs and plant variety and the ability to smell and learn. We had a wonderful tour that blew our senses away! We also enjoyed a lovely lunch with delicious teas and wine. If you are in the Syracuse area of Sicily I strongly recommend that you make the trip. Check the website and see what’s going on and make a reservation. You won’t be disappointed.

Enrico Russino and Rita Russotto are bringing to fruition a beautiful dream at their azienda agricola gli Aromi. On an incredible spot with views of the open sky and sea Enrico shared his vast knowledge of herbs and spices, roots and rhizomes (!) with humor and in Italian/Sicilian/English. Rita’s amazing dinner after the tour is also a lesson in balancing flavor and allowing fresh ingredients to shine. Their love of Sicily creates a joyous experience!

The Water Mill Museum in Grotte is a fascinating attraction with a rich history dating back to the early 1800s. The host is welcoming and provides an informative tour of the mill, highlighting its impressive mechanism. Visitors can also enjoy a visit to the nearby Ispica Cave for an even more enlightening experience. The museum offers an optional audio system for each room, as well as a coffee shop and local product store selling items like olive oil and cheese.
Such a cool experience. We loved the museum and the tour guide was very informative! The flour being milled smells amazing. Bought ourselves a bag of flour to take home with us.
Ashley Ward — Google review
Fantastic place. We slept at the accommodation which is in the middle of the peaceful sicilian countryside and then had a private tour of this fascinating mill. It is a family run place built into the natural rock. It is both a museum and a beautiful accommodation. The owners are extremely hospitable. Highly recommended.
Désirée — Google review
Small forth generation privately owned cave flour mill. The last one of 26 in existence in the workd. For those interested in the old ways of producing what we eat, this is a living museum owned, lived in and operated by the same family. Alessandro and his mother are the guides. It is a window in to a world of a quickly disappearing past. You can buy the flour there, ground right in front of you. We bought one for making bread and pizza and a more finely ground flour for making fresh pasta. This museum gives you a glimpse into how in relatively modern times people lived, still live, had families and worked in some of the hillside caves. This is a place worth supporting by visiting and buying some of its flour...it is 2.50 euros a kilo. What a great gift for the baker in your life. Please visit and give them your supprt.
Damian Ameen — Google review
Absolutely great. We loved it, including the kids. They also have an extra 2 euro a great audio system that explains for each room what needs to be known. They have also a coffee and a small shop which sales local products like olive oil, cheese, etc. Rarely seen such a commitment and perfection in a family museum. Definitely and’ experience to do
C. Moriggi — Google review
Fascinating place, the Arab water wheel and how it works was really well described in Italian, English,, German and French with recordings. The man at the mill was a descended of the original millers and was excellent in his explanations in English. Excellent museum with lots of original items and really transported you into the past
Siobhan “LadySKO” O'Toole — Google review
Your host is more then friendly, welcome with open arms and tells you in English about his profession in the Watermill and about his ancestors. Dates back to early 1800 and the mechanism is amazing! The lady of the house is absolute charming but understands nothing else then Italian. Before or after visiting Ispica Cave enlightens your day absolutely!

Churches & Cathedrals
The Cathedral of Saint George is a prominent religious landmark located in Ragusa, Italy. Constructed in the 18th century, it boasts remarkable baroque and neoclassical architecture with a prominent dome that rises above its tiered facade. A visit to this cathedral offers a significant cultural and historical experience, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the town via its grand staircase. Its magnificence has also made it recognizable as the setting for numerous scenes in the Montalbano detective series.
Absolutely lovely baroque “wedding cake” architecture! The steps up lead to a fantastic historic, cultural (and religious) experience inside! With a beautiful view of the city of Modica even the walk to the church is amazing! Oh, and watch for it in the Montalbano detective series! It’s featured in both the opening credits and it pops up in episodes all the time!
David Daniel — Google review
Go there at noon, a wonderful light yearly calendar awaits you from our mathematician genious ancestors. The view from the tower is an extra.
Krisztina Radnai — Google review
I think it's worth visiting, if not only to admire the architecture from the inside of the cathedral, than definitely for the panoramic view on the town that its stairs offer 🌟
Joanna — Google review
The Cathedral of San Giorgio in Ragusa is one of the most beautiful late baroque monuments in the city. Designed by the architect Rosario Gagliardi, it dominates the Ibla panorama with its neoclassical dome. It is a UNESCO Site since 2002. The entrance is free and there are no tickets needed. I would suggest to municipality and Cathedral management to better maintain the external area as there are many flowerbeds very dirty and also graffitis on the stairs.
Vincenzo Prestera — Google review
Wonderful setting, must visit if you happen to pass by this atmospheric town!
Konstantinos Karmiris — Google review
Great view from the top of the stairs. I recommend going even higher to the viewpoints on top of the city. The church is really nice inside as well.
Alexandru Gavril — Google review
You can also visit the bell tower (€2 for adults, free for children), pretty steep climb but the view of the whole valley is superb.
Ákos Gáspár — Google review
Superb cathedral, with a beautiful soft light and lovely music. From its front you can admire the city. It’s quite a sloppy walk from the lower city to the cathedral, you can do it by stairs or via the street but there is also a little tourist train to take you up
Liana — Google review
This town is incredible. You can’t believe how they built it. Spectacular Definitely worth seeing if you visit Sicily. We came from Catania, around 1.5 hours driving
Andrei Bacos — Google review
Duomo of Saint George is the local parish church of Modica Alta area. A stunning baroque building set on the hillside. With many steps to climb, it's worth it for the view especially at night. The twinkling lights make it look a scene from the bible. Take the winding road upwards to the Pizzo Belvedere outlook to enjoy the best view in town.
Caroline Crutchley — Google review
Like in Ragussa, I found most of the churches in the Val di Notto most impressive from the outside, but they're definitely still worth a look inside, Modica's is particularly impressive like a three tier wedding cake.
Geoffrey Berg — Google review
A very lovely cathedral full of charm and beauty. Free to enter and worth the 2 Euro charge to go up the additional 118 steps up to the bell tower and get a wonderful view of Modica.

L'arte del Cioccolato Torrone Cannolo is a chocolate shop in Modica that stands out for its delicious products. The store offers fresh and affordable chocolate, which is made on-site. In addition to their amazing chocolate, L'arte del Cioccolato Torrone Cannolo also serves up some of the best cannoli in all of Sicily.
Best chocolate in Modica I have been to almost all of the chocolate shops and I would say this is the best. My reasoning comes down to 2 things. 1. the chocolate is fresh and cheap. 2. they make it there and the owner was nice.

Josh Mason — Google review
Absolutely awestruck at the discovery of a 12th century place of religion, found behind a garage. Yes, it's €2.50 to get in, but it's a totally different experience to the established chiesas in Modica. Helpful and informative staff, too. It's worth a visit.
Allen Haigherty — Google review
Definitely visit whilst in Modica. I stumbled across this today by chance and was curious and was not disappointed - very small but unique and intimate glimpse into the past, and a fascinating story of how it was buried and forgotten for so long. Sure, it’s not going to slap you in the face with the ornate grandeur of the duomi in Modica, but let’s face if, you can see a stunning Baroque church in so many European places - this is unique. Take a moment, use your imagination (like you often have to do with history, preservation is a precarious thing) and enjoy what is different about and so old about this and it will amaze you, this dates back to the Greek’s in Sicily pre Christ. Ernesto on the front desk was amazing and obviously passionate about what he does. I also read some reviews about the cost, I think 2.50 euro is a bargain (even with the dreadful Australian exchange rate 😂) to see this little unique slice of history and happy for my small entrance fee to go to the preservation. The cost of an arancini to help preserve something special, I’m here for that 🙌
Shari Aubrey — Google review
Highly recommended. The place is small, but its atmosphere is worth the visit.
Jakub Franc — Google review
What you see is what you get here. There is only one room, cave-like, with one painting. It is interesting to see something of the kind from the 12th century, but the 2.5 euro ticket does not seem worth it. I understand they need money to keep it up, but considering the size, it should have been free (with voluntary donation).

Was keen to see this so was very annoyed that this was closed during the hours posted on Google, their website and on the door.

The Mediterranean restaurant Ristorante Il Delfino - Da Vince' is a place where you can enjoy great seafood and pasta dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff friendly. They accept American Express, Mastercard, and Visa, making it easy for diners to get their meal. There is outdoor seating as well as wheelchair accessibility.
Very tasty food, and great service. Our 7&9 year old demolished the mussels and seafood pizza, and we loved the Fritto Misto di Pesce as a starter followed by the gusto Risotto Delfino. Nao comprende the really negative reviews, these must be from people who have limited adoration for the zest of life - a 🤗 for you! As food worshipers, I honestly wouldn't listen if you share the same passion and are able to evaluate cost-vs-value. More importantly, everything was delicious/tasty- the food was served hot and cooked to order.... our risotto was al dente - for example! Enjoy a lovely evening in this charming restaurant with the sea waves rolling in to the shore while enjoying a chilled glass of wine with your meal while looking across the shore of Marina di Ragusa 🥰❤️🫡

Simply outstanding. Warm and friendly reception. Had lunch and was seated outside with a splendid sea view. Share the 3 smoked fish starter which was super. Next I had breaded swordfish with French fries - excellent. Really enjoyed the meal. Our meal was very reasonably priced. Would return.

Service was impeccable. Food was amazing. I took a special starter which was a meddle of lots of different seafood plates. It was all so good but could not eat any more afterwards because of the size of this plate. It was a meal in itself. Atmosphere was also great, right on the sea shore, with both beautiful views and the sound of the sea lapping along the shore. The restaurant is highly recommended and not to be missed.
Mario Psaila — Google review
Great service was overshadowed by mediocre dishes. Our mixed sharing seafood starter and mixed grilled main wasn’t cooked balance and mainly overcooked. The cuttlefish was very chewy, aranchini tasted of the stale oil it was fried in. Most people around us were eating pizza or a type of mussel soup; so maybe we picked wrong dishes. Reasonably priced in any case and a smiling attentive service.

I'd rate this restaurant 4.5 .... Lovely food, knowledgeable & friendly staff giving good service. Great location on Marina de Rugosa beach with good on street parking. Primarily fish - freshly sourced & pizza & good wine selection. Chef takes time to speak to customers after their meals. Staff speak English. One of the best restaurants in the area - need to book fridays, Saturdays & Sundays

We went for a very late lunch and despite being late they still waited for us to get there. We ordered an antipasto to share between two people and a pasta dish each. It was delicious (as expected, since it wasn't my first time there) and plenty. Most of all we appreciated the human touch of the staff, from waiters to owners. Mrs T and I had our last dinner in Sicily here and we were not disappointed. We visited on a Saturday night at 8.30pm and had to wait until 9.15pm to get a table; this place was busy, which was a good sign and a little surprising for it's back-street location. If you get the opportunity to book do so. Once seated the service was friendly and attentive throughout our evening. We opted to have a starter each; caponata (which was very tasty) and a special of Tartarina (think steak tartare; a generous portion of seasoned tender beef and a few capers, with some mayonnaise and a piquant red sauce on the side). This came with a basket of small ciabatta rolls, which were pretty decent. We then shared a primi piatti special of spaghetti al cartocchio; this was twice cooked spaghetti - first boiled and dressed in a tomato sauce with mince, vegetables and capers, and topped with some ricotta and parmesan. This was wrapped in baking paper and baked for a short period. This was all kinds of excellent. We wanted to opt for a special of stinco di maiale (slow cooked ham hock), but this was sadly sold out. The waiter suggested a similar slow cooked chicken dish (served simply with some sliced roasted potatoes, carrot and fennel), which did not disappoint. We finished with a tiramisu between us, which was a great example of the classic dish. We washed everything down with a litre bottle of mineral water and a half litre carafe of the house red wine. The menu is a little limited in a few places, a prime example being the wine options, which are only a house white or red. It was inexpensive and inoffensive, but I would have liked to have the option of paying more for something better. The cooking was a very generous example of well executed, solid and tasty crowd pleasing dishes, that delivered on their promise. They were not ultra-refined, but benefitted from the honesty and simplicity that they were presented with. Likewise, this was an excellent example of good hospitality. It's hard to fault this place in any meaningful way; especially as all of this came to a frankly amazing bargain price of 57€! Do seek this place out👍🏻

Excellent, if a little basic. 5 minutes walk from the main road through tiny hill streets, well sign posted, extremely charming venue and setting. We ordered the fairly simple dishes (sausage and potatoes, trofie pomodora, lasagne), but they were all very tasty, decent but not massive portions, with lovely parfait/ice cream things for dessert. Made a lovely fuss of my 2 Yr old niece. Recommend

Had a wonderful lunch here — the service was fabulous and the food was scrumptious. The tuna tartare tasted as though it had higher quality tuna than most others I’ve had in Sicily. But the real star of the show is their bread — amazing rolls that are slightly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. A bit expensive for an everyday meal but worth it!

.An absolute "must visit". If you love fish and are in Scicli then go here. The pasta, the fresh fish and the wine are perfect. Locally sourced food, lovely setting. We enjoyed our meal so much, that we went back the next night. Luis, is fantastic (thanks man), and the rest of the staff make the experience.

Great gem in the center of Scicli. The staff was courteous and awesome, they were really professional and always there when needed. The restaurant itself was well simply decorated, even used some local art at the entrance, soft Italian classic music filled the background, creating an amazing atmosphere. The food was outstanding, our party of 4 decided to order 4 different dishes, we shared them and we agree that all of them were amazing!!! We even decided to go for dessert, we tried all 3 available, and did not disappoint at all!! Definitely a must in Scicli, and congratulations to the owner to run this little gem in such an amazing way.

Wonderful fish restaurant tucked away in Scicli. We had a delicious swordfish involtini dish with cheese fondue and an interesting minerally red wine recommended by our knowledgable and friendly waiter Luis. I was tempted into having a desert which turned out to be the star of the meal for me! I rarely have desert but this finger of sponge cake coloured with squid ink and with intense chocolate was absolutely amazing. Totally recommend this place

Great and Delicious! Everything was great, the staff friendly and willing to explain everything that you might want as well extremely willing to be helpful in case of allergies. Food: outstanding. Extremely fresh seafood, food is traditional with a twist and creative without overdoing it. Location: great views of the baroque palace as well admits the lovely alleys. Price: more than adequate.
