Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church

Sights & Landmarks

Visitors to Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church in Jamaica have attended both daily and Sunday Mass, where they were warmly welcomed by the community. However, caution is advised as there has been reports of a small elderly woman panhandling for money during Sunday Mass. It's important to note that the church itself provides opportunities for giving back through supporting hotel maids and cooks who work hard every day to make ends meet.
Visited while on holidays. They do beautiful work by feeding local children daily

This is small catholic church in Negril. Sun service was great. It's a small community and the priest was very friendly and welcomed all the visitors

Came here during vacation for Easter Sunday mass. It was lovely. So glad it was super close to our hotel.

Have made several trips to Jamaica, and I have attended both daily and Sunday Mass. I have been accepted by the ladies in community for Mass. BEWARE..... on Sunday at Mass a very petite little old lady will panhandle for money. I gave her about $9 one Sunday, and then she jumped into her Land Rover after Mass!! My next visit the following year, she tried to hustle me again. If she can afford to drive a Land Rover in Jamaica, she does not NEED the money. I refused to give her any money!! I prefer to largely tip my hotel maid or cook with children who are at the hotel at 0700-1700, and take two buses to get to work six days a week. The NEED is greater with them!!

Attended Good Friday 2pm service. The humility in the priest welcome was evident. He went into details on the format & how the service would be conducted. So refreshing to experience so much grace & love.🙏🏾

Great place to be. Here humanitarianism is at work. The spirit of brotherly love manifests itself not only in our songs of praise, but in the feeding of less fortunate and Get kids in school project. Feel the warmth of our priest, Fr. Jim Bok. His humility reminds me of Jesus.

Great service. Excellent church to go if you are a local or a tourist in Negril. The closest catholic church for many hotels at Norman Manley Boulevard.
Bruno Bohrer — Google review
The singing, sermon and service were great. The service lasted about an hour and 20 minutes, so allow extra time. No kneelers. The priest is a Francisan from Ohio, and tourists from all over the world joined the Jamacians.

The Cliff Hotel Jamaica is a stylish boutique hotel located in the West End of Negril, with contemporary suites and villas that offer breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. The hotel boasts an outdoor pool, spa and wellness center, yoga classes and various body treatments. Guests can enjoy upscale dining at the destination restaurant while being attended by friendly staff. The hotel provides total seclusion with stunning grounds perfect for relaxation.
I didn’t want to leave…. Gorgeous property. Rooms were very clean with a lovely balcony and a fantastic hammock. The bartenders were extremely friendly. The morning fitness classes were great. The food was very good from Zest and the Jamaican High Mountain Coffee in the room was phenomenal. I wasn’t sure how I would feel without a beach and I could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the outstanding views and clarity of water- I never missed the sand! This is a very beautiful calm resort. A perfect place for restoration and relaxing. Many local businesses will send a shuttle to pick you up if you want a night of activity. We enjoyed Ivan’s restaurant and went to Rick’s Cafe for one night of high energy sunset watching. I would recommend this resort without hesitations

Such a peaceful place to be with great food. Main downfall was how hard it was to find. If you don't see the small sign straight-a-way, just call them for better directions. Also, on our second day, my partner and I were basically locked out of our room for 2hrs plus during house cleaning 🙃. Either they got a bit confused because we were staying another night or they just aren't good at communicating because they had us out for so long because they were repairing the fan in the room... without letting us know. Wild. Otherwise, the food they have? Great. Drinks? Great. Customer Service? Great. That bed? Lovely. The room sizes? Great and the views? Wow. I wish I took more pictures of our scenery without myself in it but it's definitely worth it. Please note, basically all meals are to be paid for unless selected before hand when booking a stay. But the prices aren't bad for the amount of food and the quality of the meal.

The Cliff Hotel is such a beautiful and peaceful property! The service was exceptional and the staff was very accommodating. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I stayed here during my birthday trip and the staff surprised me with a bottle and a sweet note. The food at the restaurant is amazing and has a lot of great options. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay in Negril.

We spent our honeymoon at this beautiful hotel and absolutely loved it. The overall experience for us could not have been better. We loved the Villa 1 and the staff was excellent, the food was wonderful (they accommodated my food allergies) and the views were spectacular. I normally don’t write reviews but I felt compelled to write this one. We will be back for sure! Thank you.

The Cliff hotel deserves way more than 5 stars! Everything about this hotel was absolutely amazing! The design, service, huge rooms, huge pool and bars, amazing employees that felt like family, the food, all the best. It’s the type of place you want to come back to every year and we definitely will. It was the perfect amount of relaxation and fun and felt like our own sanctuary. So happy we found this place and stayed here.

I loved this resort. It looks just like the photos. Here is what it is and what it isn't -- It is a gorgeous, serene, simple but elegant hotel with professional staff who meet every need. It has a small gym, one lovely pool, gorgeous cliffs, a fine restaurant, fantastic spa with the best masseuse I've ever had, lovely rooms and lobby. It is not a resort with activities (just a pool table and some yoga offerings), the staff do not serve you if you do not ask, and its not a place for young children (though there were teens, including mine.) You also need to be prepared to take taxis everywhere you go - this is not a walkable hotel (the hotel easily arranges taxis for every need.) Highly recommend.

We were there in July. I loved the Resort and didn't want to leave. Upscale but felt like we were at someone's home. Welcome drinks, cold hand towels, and warm greetings in the lobby upon check-in. Concierge desk was helpful. Coordinated our bamboo rafting excursion, suggestions for dinner and arranged taxi pick up. One of our drivers Champs was excellent, fair and always on time. Short drive from Rick's cafe, near to the hummingbird sanctuary, 10 mins away from the mega hotels. Amazing cliff side ocean views and direct ocean access. Beautiful view of the sunset. Serene, calm and zen. Life guards and bartenders were friendly and attentive. View from our room, fresh breeze from the sea and shower was luxurious. We had a spacious suite, two balconies one with a hammock. A++ Next time will book with daily breakfast included. Was not all inclusive for drinks/ food. Thank you for your care, we really enjoyed our short vacation.

A beautiful and peaceful setting on the cliffs in Negril. Very quiet and relaxing compared to other options in Jamaica. High quality dining options. Being able to jump off the cliffs into deep, crystal clear water is so much better than being on a beach in my opinion.
Emile Brown — Google review
It was hard to leave what felt like paradise after such an incredible stay. The food was excellent, the drinks were fabulous (thanks to our wonderful bartender Adrien), and the staff was incredibly kind and gave wonderful suggestions (thank you Taji) - I would far prefer to stay here than on the main beach. You have the advantage of the perfect sunset in what feels like isolation, and you have a gorgeous and large property to enjoy. We took advantage of the couples massage which was heaven, listening to the waves in a cabana just by the shoreline - Simone was very helpful in arranging the booking. Patrick at the front desk helped us get our Covid tests sorted easily and without stress. We also enjoyed some snorkeling right on the property getting the chance to see some of the beautiful marine life right by the cliffs. I sincerely hope we can return again and enjoy all the luxuries of this incredible stay. Thank you to the entire team at The Cliff Hotel!

This place was very beautiful, the vibe and the setting was very relaxing. The staff was always nice and accommodating, each and every one of them. The rooms are huge!!! If you want to get way from the noise and get some peace and quiet this is great place. It's also a good place for weddings The downside is it's too quiet! We were going out of our minds crazy boredom, there was nothing to do there... I chose this place based on the ratings but had I knew how quiet it was I wouldn't have booked but again we're were looking for a more upbeat vibe and this wasn't it. The only other thing I didn't like was the shower, tho it was nice it didn't have curtains or glass protector so water was every where when we shower.

Dear Cliff Family, One time for the front line family and management “big up uno self” and if you know then you know. Our first time experiencing Jamaica and it was Amazing. Bob M really set a tone for the One love culture. The Cliff family from security to bellhop to receptionist to housekeeping to hospitality to grounds to food service You ALL Rock!! From the beginning you are greeted with a cool minty facecloth and a tasty ginger beverage. Throughout the stay the Cliff family casually inquired about our overall satisfaction. The scenery is dreamy and the Cliff family frontline who brings this magical production to life are just phenomenal. We were treated as royalty and they decorated our room in celebration of my spouse birthday on the day of arrival and then the actual day. If you are looking for serenity, hospitality, and genuine customer service look no further. The room is filled with great treasures - sample size body wash, shower caps, Q-tips and cotton balls, blow dryer, towel basket, iron and board, safe box, mosquito repellent device, tv, refrigerator, coffee maker, complimentary tea packets and water, plenty of storage space and luggage racks. I even left with an idea for bathroom remodel - a partial open bath shower which was a new experience. Small touches to continue thriving include adding a Bible and microwave to the rooms and air vent for the bathrooms. All else is superb - the grounds is immaculate with manicured lawns, two pools one fresh water and salt water, two bars and a restaurant, with recreational activities such as dart board, pool table, and corn hole. We managed to get our steps in by walking the beautiful grounds so we bypassed the gym faculty which was also a convenient perk. There is also a reasonable size parking lot that accommodated our rental car. What more can one ask for?! Let’s just say we will be back Yah willing. We left with great memories and many conscious sayings along the way…Respect…One Love…welcome to JamRock! #theCliff#owesUsNothing #couplesTrip #HotelAcoomodationsDoneRight

Unreal. Service is amazing, food is great, rooms are really nice, clean & great balcony. Swimming pool is so nice & the cliffs into the sea are out of this world. Highly highly recommend - can’t imagine finding anything better than this in Negril.

This was the 3rd resort we were staying at during my trip to Jamaica, and it was absolutely the best. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous, and the whole resort was truly amazing. We took the long road here driving through catadupa. The staff here is amazing, taking care of us from the moment we stepped out of the car. The view from cliffs is breathtaking, especially during sunset. The pool is amazing, but I preferred the saltwater pools on the cliifs. I wished I had booked more nights here. A must stay place if you are in Negril.

From check in to departure our entire stay was perfection!! Staff here are so pleasant & accommodating- we had our 4y/old with us & he didn’t wanna leave. Food at the restaurant ZEST was delicious with views overlooking the ocean - beautiful cliff & crashing sounds of the water. I had a natural scenic massages with the best masseuse EVER. There were also 2 fun large pools with a bar attached for ice cold drinks while soaking up the sun! The vibes were everything & I had a fabulous time here- can’t wait to come back in a few weeks!

About 175 of us came for a wedding, ALL of the staff were very nice and fantastic with a special shout out to O'Mighty for the awesome drinks and attentive service and a MASSIVE shout out and thanks to O'Neil - he's the cream of the crops! Friendly, kind, attentive and so, so helpful and patient, if only I could shrink him down and carry him in my pocket all day! Would come back just for the staff!

Beautiful Rooms Views!!! From the moment you arrive at the secured gate. You are greeted with a warm friendly smile. Once you checked in you are given a welcome drink. The bellman carried our bags to the room! Then all the excellent food, drinks and service continued!! Vernon, Taji and staff did a wonderful job engaging and being attentive with all the guests! I felt right at home! Dream vacation! Will do again!!! 5⭐️

A hidden jewel with exquisite architecture, and breathtaking views. From booking to checkout the service was excellent. The attention paid to cater to your specific needs are bar none, you are sure to have a refreshing/relaxing vacation when you stay at The Cliff Hotel. My spouse and I went for her birthday and she loved every minute of it. My one and only disappointment was that for such a luxurious hotel, there was no complementary shaving kit in the bathroom. Other than that, we had a great time.

Beautiful hotel(of the 3 we stayed at this was our favorite facility, a beach would be nice, but if you dont want the sand they have some cool Cliffside lounging areas). Great staff. The restaurant was a little lacking on menu size but everyone in my group loved there food except me. I found it bland as far as the vegetarian options It was not bad however just a bit flavorless and from one of the highest rated restaurants on the island I had higher hopes...

My husband and I visited for our babymoon and we cannot say enough positive things about The Cliff Hotel. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The spa was the perfect way to end the trip. I wasn't able to cliff jump (because of my pregnancy) and still found the saltwater pool carved into the cliffs to do the trick - the pools were also great! We went golfing one day at Negril Country Club and had the nicest caddie (Kevin). We also went down to 7-Mile Beach to get our fill of the white sand. The resort is conveniently located in Negril - plenty of great restaurants and excursions - and we weren't bothered by the commute from the airport. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, small resort in beautiful Jamaica!

Went for dinner there and the food wasn't all that the octopus was tuff in the curry bowl and the steak was roast in sauce and wet but was advertised as rib eye. And there is a 10% tax and they added 15% tip which is crazy. I can add my own tip if the service is what I expected.

Blue Hole Mineral Spring is a charming tourist attraction in Brighton District, Jamaica that features picturesque mineral springs with a deep swimming cave, pool and grill perfect for picnics. Visitors can also enjoy relaxing mud massages while taking in the stunning views. In addition to this, tourists can explore nearby attractions such as Mayfield Falls or Blue Hole Gardens for a morning adventure before heading over to Paradise Park for horseback riding or river swimming followed by a picnic.
It wasn't super blue as the sun was not shining into the hole, but the locals were incredibly friendly and encouraging. Yes, it's a touristy spot but go early and it's less busy. We had a Red Stripe, jumped, swam, and had a great time!
Jennifer Hund — Google review
It's not the same as the Blue Hole in Ochie Rios, however it has it's own Perk, not for faint at heart. One has to climb down the ladder into the mineral springs, which is a cave or if yre brave dive in. This one is located in negril Google it. Aftr I left I realize there's also a huge weed farm😊

Had a great few hours here with my teenage kids. Definitely worth a look and an exhilarating experience. Worth shopping around as the price for this differs dramatically from company to company. It's worth considering arranging your own transport as the entry cost is way lower than any excursions we looked at.
Michael Kennelly — Google review
Had a great time. Even did the jump! The employees are hospitable and very helpful. There’s also a pool and bar to hang out if you’re not interested in going into the cave. They offer mud masks too, which is extra. The cost to enter and the cost to swim/go into the blue hole are separate. It wasn’t too crowded the day I went, so despite covid I felt comfortable taking off my mask and maintaining social distance. Definitely glad I got to experience it.
Tatiana C. — Google review
I do not understand the hype of this location. Of course the hole is pretty nice and the jump into it is awesome as well. And also the surounding area is quiet nice. But the entrance fee is absolutely to high. Each point i told you before you can find on other spots too. And cheaper. We payed 20USD for 15 minutes swimming and jumping in the hole. This is way to expensive in my opinion. I would not recommend to Visit this Blue Hole. Sorry.
Daniel Sparbrod — Google review
This was a fun place to go to, if you go early in the morning you wil be the first, if you want to jump a hole go here , my wife and I loved it , also the hotel is awesome and looks great, if we knew about the hotel we would have stayed here

In this place is nothing special to see, if you still want to visit, I recommended do it in the morning because of the sun and nice blue water in the hole, otherwise without sun is really dark and not worth it at all. Entry was $10 without swimming or $20 with swimming inside. You can also go up the building there and have some view, but not worth it 20 bucks
Kuba Hloska — Google review
Hey it may be 20$ to hop in but find other place like it.... and someone needs to take care of it and make living. So I would say definitely do it, guys are friendly and it really is beautiful!!! Thank you for great morning!

What a gem . Up tucked away in the mountains just outside of Negril . Wife and I were so happy we did this . To experience Jamaica for us must get off the resort and this was right up our alley . Very chill vibe , 20 dollar entrance fee with a pool , and 30 foot jump . Bar for drinks , and food and ganja field tour if that’s your thing People are good let you do your thing but keep an eye on you still from a distance . Stopped for proper Jamaican patties with Coco bread on way back . Could’ve stayed there all day

This was an interesting experience... we made plans to see mineral spring and waterfall... with option to swim. Which it was an option we decided not to take.. swimming pool had spring water so we did sit by the pool. The farm was an added excursion , everyone was very nice, explained how the plants were grown from seed to plants. It was an experience. The drive is long and streets are narrow, that itself was something else!

Barney's Flower & Hummingbird Garden in Jamaica is a stunning botanical paradise that boasts an impressive collection of exotic hummingbirds and vibrant tropical flora. Visitors can expect to marvel at the sight of these colorful birds while wandering through the garden's lush greenery. Additionally, sightings of Jamaican orioles and spindalis are not uncommon. For those interested, Barney himself is happy to show guests around and provide insightful explanations about his beloved garden.
Barney's garden is amazing! If you are close by you should visit him! I highly recommend it. If you wanna see a hummingbird, 100% you will. His garden looks like a botanical garden! Thanks to Barney, showing us around and explaining a lot! Greetings from Germany!
Jasmin Alex — Google review
The staff here was super inviting and knowledgeable about different species of hummingbirds. The hummingbirds are usually found in the Blue Mountains, but Barney has curated a garden with specific features to draw the hummingbirds to this side of the island. We got to see 3 of the national bird and 2 mangoes. I had one come right up to my feeder and feed from my hand. Go early on the morning or late in the day as the birds prefer cooler temperatures and shade. Expect to spend 1-2 hours here. Cash only if you pay in person and do not reserve online.
Hannah Lucas — Google review
Wandering through his garden and watching the hummingbirds was a highlight of our trip to Negril. I highly recommend spending at least an hour there.
Marquel Close — Google review
Tucked back on a small dirt road but pretty. It was 25 USD to get in, which was a bit high for the experience. We did see Doctor Birds (national birds) but not very many- our guide told us there "weren't a lot of birds today". Very friendly, maybe just visited on an off day. They give you a small container of sugar water to try and feed the birds from your hand, overall good locals to support- we were able to feed one.

Great place to visit in Negril. Go in the afternoon to ensure you see the hummingbirds. Barney showed us around, sharing his knowledge of the plants and birds.
Ed Doherty Jr — Google review
We really enjoyed our visit and saw plenty of hummingbirds, plus Jamaican Oriole and Spindalis. One of us managed to get hummingbirds to feed twice on the sugar water bottle. We would've stayed longer but it starting chucking it down 😔

Barney’s Flower &Hummingbird Garden is a must see! Barney is an amazing human who is willing to share his land and knowledge of both foliage and hummingbirds. The property is his personal land that he has been cultivating for 40 years. The grounds consist of tropical intimate walking paths. If you are patient you may be able to hand feed a hummingbird. Thank you Barney for making this experience beyond amazing!
Sara Schultz — Google review
This is a beautiful oasis. You can see the love and hard work in the details. The size of it is not in the number of paths, or how big the actual garden is, or how many birds you’re going to get to see, but the hearts that go into it, to keep it up despite the odds of it even existing in the first place. Your money goes to support a beautiful idea, that someone cares enough to carve out a small sanctuary in honor of the delicate and precious flora and fauna of this island, when there is nothing else like it, and no real support apparently for any natural attractions. For this it was worth every penny and more. Plus I was lucky enough to encounter and feed a few beautiful hummingbirds. Thank you for the tour and your generous time!
Nyneve Laura Minnear — Google review
It's a private garden of Barney, there are lots of plants but that's it, big for a garden, small for a botanical route. We visited it on a hot afternoon, there were almost no hummingbirds. So that you undestrand, its not a hummingbird place, the ones that appear are same ones you can see in any nearby garden with flowers...indeed we've seen more in a garden of the house we rented. The only difference is they hand you a bottle to feed the hummingbirds and if you are lucky you will be able to take a good picture. My rating is because of the money they ask to pay, by no means its worth spending 25$. 5-6$ they ask the Jamaicans could be acceptable because I understand it takes a lot of money and care etc. to maintain a garden like this.
Iza Jałowiecka — Google review
MUST visit....beautiful walking garden with a chance to see and feed the hummingbirds. Great care taken to preserve the natural beauty of Jamaica. For anyone who complains, it’s THEMSELVES they should complain about, for they have no understanding nor appreciation for nature…if there is a dog care issue, that would be concerning, but I did not see any dogs.
Mika Lee — Google review
This place sucked! After we paid the $25 usd entrance fee- a complete and utter rip off- we were told there were no more hummingbirds there, but maybe we’d see some. There was absolutely zero reason to visit this place since you can pretty much pull over to the side of the road and see the same thing for free. Luckily, we did see a couple of hummingbirds in the end.
JB W — Google review
Lovely spot with a natural garden and a delighted owner who clearly loves these birds. What a wonderful thing to be able to offer a safe space for these beautiful and endangered birds! Come to spend a couple of hours connecting with the birdies as Barney affectionately calls them, feed them birds from A little sugar bottle, chat to the friendly owner and relax !

I absolutely loved visiting this cute garden — saw a lot of the hummingbirds and even got to feed them. We decided to come last minute but definitely call ahead to make a reservation. Damien and the owner were so nice and welcoming. 1000% recommend stopping here

We really enjoyed visiting this garden. They give you a handheld hummingbird feeder, and I was lucky enough to have a humming bird coming right up to us twice. My friend didn't but you can't force mother nature and we still liked the place. We enjoyed the flowers and plants too. The elderly man was very accommodating and his youngest assistant was very helpful. we enjoyed this very much. It is a quick trip if you want something a little different in a little paradise. We spent about an hour there. It's also close to Rick's Cafe.

Booked trip through Barney , was such a lovely experience to see the hummingbirds in their natural habitat in a beautiful garden that Barney has created himself over many years. Can clearly see the love and hard work he has put into it. Lovely plants and flowers . The hummingbirds were amazing beautiful little birds and was surreal to be able to feed them. !!! Thank you Barney for allowing us to share your garden.

At Rick's Cafe in Negril Jamaica, visitors can enjoy Caribbean food and cocktails while enjoying the Jamaican sunset. The restaurant has a pool and cliffside jumping spots for visitors to enjoy.
Lovely Christmas Dinner and cocktails, and the service was friendly and prompt. We got the squid for starters which was fresh and well seasoned (so good we ordered another portion before the mains arrived). For mains we got the fish, wings, prawn pasta and the lobster which went down very well. The atmosphere was great and we ended up spending the whole day after we finished eating just having drinks, watching the crowd downstairs and watching the gorgeous sunset. Such a great Christmas 🥰

5 stars, great upbeat atmosphere. DJ and dancers included the crowd for some entertainment. Professional cliff jumpers were great to watch and the view is amazing. Sat upstairs and only two bathrooms which made for lines but staff was standing near them keeping them clean (also had a tip jar in the bathroom). Food was good as well as service. The view is great. Did not try the food but looked/smelled good very touristy spot. We went driving ourselves not with tour boat/bus so the place was pretty empty and slow. Some workers asked few times to buy them a beer it started to get annoyed but the place looked very well managed with many people working almost feel overstaffed but I know when I went was slow time. I was staying at negril hotel so sunset didn’t do it for me at this spot. Jumping area looked cool and water looked very clean. They say anyone can jump but the highest spot (only one crew does it). Just not sure why this place is so popular (5stars?) there’s other hotels in this area with great view and has cliff..
Bee L — Google review
Rick’s Cafe felt like a nightclub more than anything else - I wasn’t a fan of that. I read that the sunset here was gorgeous, and it was, but it was so loud I couldn’t enjoy it at all. The pool was pretty nice, the cliff area was beautiful and dangerous, the food is mediocre, and the gift-shop was way over priced. Just a one time thing for us. Maybe we would come back during the day to see if the atmosphere is different?
Michelle Landaverde — Google review
We visited in the afternoon so it was pretty muted as far as the vibe. The food is forgettable but the views are awesome and the cliff jumping is cool. You start at 11 feet, then they let you jump from about 25 feet. If you do that well, they let you try 35 feet. The highest 50 foot is for the staff divers only and they ask for money to watch them jump.
Scott Williams — Google review
Always good to stop in and watch the divers or dive yourself. This time I went I didn't dive but I ate at the restaurant this time. Great music and food for sure. If I had more time I would have jumped off the baby cliff. Don't be scared!
Darryl Lewis — Google review
Awesome atmosphere, loved watching people cliff dive, and eat yummy food. The sunset was a bit masked by the clouds but that’s how it is sometimes, still beautiful in the cliffs.

Great entertainment, dancers. Music No entry fee, free parking across the street. Cliff jumpers, anyone can jump from the cliff, a small cliff and big cliffs. Food is ok, nothing great. Great spot for tourist. Big place, lot of seating.

Great spot for the experience!!! Free entry Great background music Great food and drinks Our waiter was timely and didn’t scaffold us. The view was spectacular. You can opt to dive or watch person’s dive. This is an experience everyone should experience at least once in their life.

Oh my gosh! What a great place. The vibe is great, the food is good, with a good amount of choice. Great views, great music, great entertainment and those jumpers!!! Loved it here. Would come every day for my daily dose of good vibes, if I could, was such fun.

This place was awesome to visit. You have people jumping off the cliff, live music, and beautiful sunset. There's security at the door, so my wife amd I felt safe. It's was a large party while we saw the sun sink in to the sea. Absolutely beautiful and fun. The Buffalo wings were good 👍

Love the atmosphere and how they utilise the s0ace they have. They're currently expanding as a bit of construction work is happening, but it doesn't affect the rest of the property. The best time to go here is in the afternoon. When the sun is cooling down. We went in the morning as they were opening, when it was empty but it was extremely hot. The food is a little pricey so we didn't eat there. It was more like a pass through, but I will be going back for the full experience of diving, dining, and the live music.

Talking about a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea and the natural cliffs that are a part of the tundra, Rick's Cafe gave you an option to view Negril other than the 7 Mile Beach. We also had a great chance to see one of the divers jump from roughly 100 feet into the lagoon portion and it will leave a lasting impression. The food options were okay and the gift shop had some good choices as memories. If you are in Negril, visit Rick's Cafe to enjoy some local flair. As a footnote, it was excellent that they keep everyone safe via at least checking the temperatures and offering sanitizer.

Please ignore the bad reviews, honestly, this place is the one! We were served by Theodore, lovely lad. The scenery is the best around. Cliff jumping, food and cocktails, not to be missed ❤️ absolutely amazing experience. We even had a giggle with the store staff on our way out. As advised by others to go early if you prefer it a little quieter, or if you like the hustle and bustle and you don't want to miss the sunset then 2pm onwards is for you. Good music, spectacular views and lovely staff.

What a fun bar to visit!! Love the atmosphere and entertainment, it’s a good time for all age groups. The divers really put on a show with all flips and moves , very impressive and exciting to watch. The show is fun and interactive also. Make sure you stick around to see the beautiful sunset ( 5:30-6pm) Definitely place for Great photos too. Also a mini pool you can relax in and order drinks / food. I haven’t had food from there only drinks, they were reasonable priced and pretty good . A little sweet on mix drinks.

Had a blast there and we made sure to jump off the cliff, my tailbone hurts as a result but it's totally worth it lol. The food was pricey but it's to be expected with tourist spots so I wasn't all that surprised. Had a great time and I even got pulled on stage for a little game. Definitely a fun spot and recommend that visitors should jump so that they will have that experience and not regret it later.

Ricks café has a beautiful view! The ambiance it’s great all day! There’s is a pool, changing stalls and decent restrooms for your use. The staff was attentive but the wait time to get your food is long so make sure you order ahead of time and not when your starving! The have a souvenir store as you come in which was very convenient. You can not take food/drinks inside. The prices were somewhat highly but we didn’t mind it since the place was well worth it. Would definitely recommend to visit this place!

Rick’s cafe was a cool place to swim party. People there were very fun to hang out with and the DJ made it funnier. The sunset view was beautiful and it cool to see people diving off the high cliff. Must go visit if you’re in town.

Took the "Little Reefer" tour, and this was a stop. Great time, crazy heights to jump from! I went off the 25ft ... Don't jump with your phone...I thankfully, I was able to get my back (for a fee), but it got a priceless video

We did not eat there so I cannot vouch for their food. However, their drinks were quite tasty although they were not cheap. Rick's is one of those places. You just have to go to at least once just for the natural ambience. If cliff jumping is your thing, you're going to love this place.

The bar staff were friendly, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The cocktails are well made (they have a nice amount of alcohol, so worth the $$) The overall entertainment of the DJ & Dancers was very fun, they got guests involved. We only went for lunch but stayed until after sunset cause the entertainment was soo good.

This place was amazing! We all loved it so much. The bar tender was so funny! We talked and had a blast. We loved the vibe and chill here. It's definitely our place. Amazing spot to jump in the water if you wanted to jump in. Cost $ the drinks were reasonably priced and strong. Worth the price. The meals were the same as everywhere else. But eating on the cliff is just magical!

Margaritaville Negril is a vibrant beachfront spot with daily DJs, live music, and fun mini-games. It offers delicious jerk chicken and strong cocktails right off the beach. Visitors can choose to dine in the restaurant or relax on complimentary beach chairs, with the option to rent an umbrella for a fee. The location also provides easy access to Seven Mile Beach and offers catamaran rides to Ricks Cafe.
Lit all, day everyday. Generous portions. Vendors are selling items and catamarans are loading on the beach area. This place has something for everybody. Eat, drink, shop, water sports, bathrooms. Open air and spacious.

It was nice. However, they promised reggae music only after 6 pm never happened! Our burgers were too overdone! They didn't have two of the popular sandwiches: pulled pork and Cuban sandwiches. However, their seafood chowder was the BEST I ever tasted!! Our servers and other staff were very friendly and courteous! The Friday Bonfire was a great touch!

. I didn't eat there and was told I can't stand on the beach as I didn't buy anything. Very rude staff and the owner. Best to go across the road through the beach and eat at Vinnie's Bar and Grill It is a great place, delicious food, friendly staff and real authentic food. The Oxtail was delicious and the jerk chicken. Great prices too.

Long long beach was nice and the sea was warm and inviting. But, constant thump of amplified music and DJ chat. Wears thin at my age. I don't like fried chicken and sand and the drinks were expensive. It's a party beach I know.

Came here to actually go onto Seven Mile Beach & get drinks. First, know that entry is FREE. You can walk the coast, but only certain portions can you lay out your towels and beach chairs/umbrellas, due to hotels making their sand areas private. Finding parking in their lot is the main challenge. Anyway, had a great afternoon here. Water was calm & warm. Whike you're in the ocean, they'll ask you if you want to ride the inner tube attached to the speed boat. We were able to get a beach chair with an umbrella, even on a crowded beach. Went to get drinks and was able to walk right up to the bar w/ no wait. Drinks were priced fair. Bathrooms were adequate. When we were leaving, the rinse-off station was only operating at 50% due to 3 of the spouts not working. Just a perfect day in Negril.

This place was a whole vibe! Everyone was so friendly! Be ware of the salesmen on the beach that are trying to sell products! The DJ was great and everyone seemed to have a good time. They definitely give large helpings of food from what I saw. I was doing a catamaran excursion that left from there and it was definitely lively!

You can't come to Negril and not visit Margaritaville. We got here a little early an it wasn't open so we took walk down the road to some shops. When we came back the views of the amazing turquoise water just hits you. The place is lovely with a good vibe, pretty expensive so I would stay for too long. Having a beer looking out at the ocean you instantly smile. We would definitely call here again for a drink when we visit Jamaica again

Great spot! Food was great and the watermelon hydrator was fabulous! 😃 We had a group of 30 upstairs where we COMPLETELY enjoyed the breeze, music and had a little dance floor.😃 The catamaran ride and water trampoline looked fun. We didn't have time for that since we were on an excursion. I could have spent the day here. 😊 Our ONLY challenge was that she put all of our tables on one bill. Some of us paid upstairs and others paid downstairs to make it faster. I paid and headed to the bus but I heard folks complaining on the bus..🙄 I had to remind them... Relax... we are in Jamaica Mon!😃

Love the vibe! They have DJs everyday, live music, mini games (hosted by djs) locals dancing, yummy jerk chicken, strong cocktails. This location is right off the beach. You can dine in the restaurant or beach chairs whatever you prefer. Beach chairs are free but pay $15 with one with umbrella. Women’s restroom only had 3 stalls but were kept clean when we were there. This is also the place if you want to ride the catamaran to Ricks Cafe! You can book it right on the spot early in the morning. I believe it was $80 usd that includes snorkeling, cruise to Ricks and back to the restaurant with drinks and snacks included in cruise.

what a nice place to spend the afternoon! the food was absolutely delicious and the frozen drinks quite refreshing. best of all you get to enjoy it all with your feets in the sand when you sit downstairs, on the beach side. it is also the pick up point for the catamaran boat tour that brings you up to ricks cafe. so you can lay on the beach chairs or swim while you wait

Love the location, set-up, and atmosphere. The restaurant is open and right on the beach. They have a few options of how you want to dine, whether upstairs, downstairs, in the sand area, or on the beach. It was 3 of us, and we got pastas and jerk bbq chicken. I was disappointed with the pasta. It was really oily rather than creamy, but the jerk bbq chicken was a hit!! The drinks are really good, but it's full-time Magaritaville get back their souvenir cups!! Can't be advertising drinks with them and don't have any in stock. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Ample parking, and you can utilise the beach area and get a quick swim with little to no people right before they open at 10 am. It does get crowded at certain times of the day. I will visit this location again for sure.

Pleasantly surprised after reading a couple of reviews. We went for dinner so didn't see any of the daytime activities. It wasn't packed which was great for us, but other diners were present. Food came quickly and very tasty, especially the quesidillas. The kids ordered smoothies which were good. We didn't have any cocktails so can't opine on those. Nice calm ambience with music playing in the background. Service was excellent.

Overall experience was good at this location. We got in a bit late in the afternoon and didn't get to go enjoy the ocean but the food was worth mostly. I ordered the Jerk Chicken meal and substituted the rice with fries. It was a huge portion and it was cooked well done and seasoned generously. We also ordered fish tacos and that was disappointing. Definitely NOT snapper fish even though we asked before ordering. Tasted like unseasoned whiting. I also ordered the dirty banana for my drink and was sorely disappointed ☹️. Absolutely no alcohol was included, I couldn't believe it. My partner also ordered an alcoholic drink and was very upset. Also, no taste of banana was very disappointing. The manager had to bring over a shot of rum. She said they used banana puree and a small amount of liquor. Honestly, I think they poured water in any liquor they served with drinks to stretch it. I mean come on, that was dirty for the price. With an establishment of this magnitude I was truly surprised at this behaviour. If we didn't call for a manager the waiter would have acted like we were lying. Definitely a bad way to do business. Other than that, the atmosphere was nice and lots of people were around enjoying a sun filled evening.

Ofcourse it’s expensive to compare with locals, especially this places in Negril for foreigners to spend 💰 those places should better pay in USD as recommend because sometimes exchange rates are higher.

The beach is beautiful, water clear blue, white sand ..we didn't order off the food menu... did look appetizing. We enjoyed lounging and occasional dip in the water to cool down. Highly recommend renting an umbrella as the sun is brutal. The staff was friendly ensured we were comfortable before flagging waitstaff for our drink order...Drink fast! Before you know it drinks are room temp. Next round we order a bucket which came with ice that helped keep drinks cool..

Ivan's is a great restaurant for Jamaican food with a contemporary twist, as well as scenic views. The food is delicious, and the service is top-tier.
A true treat. We were celebrating my wife's birthday, and my sister had made our reservations as she's a top Jamaican travel agent. We got one of the 2 best tables for watching the sunset. Service was friendly and courteous, with enough, but not too much attention. The food was lovely, starting with the pumpkin soup, an island favorite. The grounds were spectacular, with cliffs and caves, and the aforementioned sunset views. Note that they take sanitation very seriously, as do many places. Hand washing before entering the restaurant is highly encouraged.

You just gotta go to Ivan’s Bar! Offers a great selection of cocktails and drinks. Happy Hour runs from 3-5 daily and offers a variety of specials to choose from. Say a special hello to Andy and Randy! Come for great food and drinks and stay for the most amazing sunset of your life. Some nights, they set up 100 candles on the garden paths - so romantic. There’s a lot of different seating to choose from too: by the bar, near the restaurant, on a patio, overlooking the ocean, or up in the Birds Nest! On logistics, you can access wifi as well. And the bathrooms are clean.

Incredible food, amazing views and the best staff and vibes! We stopped by for sunset drinks and dinner and weren’t disappointed! We ordered: - bruschetta - the tomatoes were so fresh and flavorful that it felt like an explosion in my mouth - the jerk pasta for vegetarians is incredible. Love the spice and the veggies and the flavors. Ask for spicy if you’re into that. - my partner ordered the curried chicken and said that she thoroughly enjoyed it and gave her some Indian flavors mixed in with Jamaican flavors! Can’t go wrong with that!! I loved that they started us off with a bowl of soup on the house!

Excellent excellent service. The location is amazing right in West End. Unfortunately we went in the night but even so the moonlit sky from our table overlooking the ocean was a great view. The meals were quite delicious and well done. Very mouthwatering and we opted for blended juices which were done just right. Highly recommend the soursop juice. My wife and I loved this place. We went here for a 40th anniversary dinner and we had the best table in the house right on the edge of the cliff. Beautiful views, delicious food good service. We have quite a few selections on our own Resort which is all inclusive, but we wanted to do something different. It was romantic and something we will remember for a long time. We would go here again for sure and we would recommend it to anyone who wanted a dinner off the resort and had a a very nice restaurant with an excellent view. Right next door to Rick's Cafe. Table 23 is the best in the house. Just in case you want to know. We might be back again next year because we'll be here again next year! A great experience.

Ivan's is located on the cliffside. Parking is difficult to find, as with most other places that side, so keep that in mind. Beautiful view, beautiful location. Staff was friendly and we were seated immediately. We got a nice table overlooking the sunset, only to be told by the hostess that she has to move us because her boss had reserved that table for some friends and they weren't aware of it until just now..ok then. We were seated in a more crowded area (strike one). Table had no tablecloth, which we asked for. The waitress said she wasn't sure if they had any more available, but she would check. They found one and the guys set the table pretty quickly and apologized for that. We placed our order and enjoyed the view. Food came out in a reasonable time I believe, however, it was salty (strike two). I honestly didn't enjoy the "stuffed" fish fillet with callaloo and cream cheese I think it was. I just ate it for eating sake. My friend's food was okay, not the greatest but okay. Our waitress was clearly too busy because she barely checked in on us (strike three). We had to go up to the front and try to signal her. We asked if she forgot us, which she admitted she did (strike four). She said she'd be back to collect the pay as she was serving beverages to another table (which we saw). We waited and waited. I actually had to go to the hostess and let her know we're trying to pay our bill and leave. She eventually got through to her and we were able to apologize, with lots of "I'm sorry's". I find that sometimes when I go to tourist areas in my own country, they don't treat me the same 🤷🏼‍♀️, but it is what it is. We went because it was recommended by a friend. Would I go back? Undecided.

We stayed at Catcha for 7 nights and ate most of our breakfasts along with some lunches and dinners at Ivan’s. Each staff member we encountered was happy, friendly, and provided excellent service. I wish I could remember the names of all the servers but the two I do remember are Davinia and Ardia. Big shout out to the restaurant manager along with evening chefs Shelley and Garfield whose cooking was outstanding. Some of our favorite lunch and dinner dishes were the jerk chicken penne, lobster thermidor, crab cakes, and the bird of paradise. Tasty breakfast items included the country style platter with banana pancakes, stuffed potato with callaloo and cheese, and the sausage hash. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend dining at Ivan’s for a truly special experience.

Nestled on the cliffs of Negril, 3 Dives Restaurant & Cliff Bar is a hidden gem known for its succulent slow-cooked chicken and homemade granny sauce that patrons often buy to take home. The woodland setting features painted picnic tables under wood overhangs nestled among the trees. In addition to their fantastic jerk chicken, the restaurant offers fresh lobsters, grilled shrimp, and an array of seasonings at reasonable prices.
Bring cash. Best meal we had in Negril. I didn’t want to eat at ricks because I read the food wasn’t great. So I searched for best food Negril and 3 dives came up. I agree, this was the best food we ate in Negril. The owner was so warm and friendly! The food was FIRE!! Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and delicious. I wish we would have visited sooner, we would have eaten here often. The pumpkin rice was fantastic! The callaloo and cabbage was better then any I’ve ever had. The opener said everything was made with love and man do you taste it!!! Highly recommend. As previously stated, it was my BEST MEAL in Negril! Also you can access the ocean from the restaurant if you care for a swim.

1/5/23 Visited Jamaica in January for a family event. We were staying nearby in an Airbnb and this was a short walk away, food here was very very good. Easy to walk to and friendly staff. Plenty of spots to sit down and eat and the view from the cliff is very lovely and romantic at sunset. The food does take a while (1hr+) so just be prepared to wait but it is worth it. We had the jerk chicken, we went to spot at least three times while we visited. Open till late. Local come hang out here too, can smoke freely. Some Parking available onsite

3 Dives is a great place to have dinner and catch the sunset. It is located on a grassy clifftop with picnic tables all over. We had a 1/2 chicken, rice and peas, plantains, and festival. We received mostly white meat and it was a bit dry, but the smoke flavour was great and the jerk sauce was the best we'd had on the island. We liked it so much that my partner bought a water bottle of sauce for $1750JMD. The festival and plantain were also delicious. Festival is always good, but 3 Dives has a really good one. There looks to be a little swimming spot as well, as there is a ladder to get down to to the ocean, but we did not partake. I see some reviews saying cash only, however we were able to pay with credit.

Great local food! Jerk chicken, rice and peas and veggies. Worth the wait! They make it fresh to order, so prepare for a few beers while you wait. I walked around and took in the stunning scenery of the cliffs. Not far from Rick's Cafe if you are heading there, stop here 1st.

Returned again after five years. As good as always. True authentic Jamaican fare that is some of the best in Negril. Arrive early and enjoy the views. Plan for at least two hours time to enjoy this rustic gem. Lobster curry is out of this world. Great jerk chicken.

By far one of the best places I've been to in Jamacia for the Lobster. The view from the cliffs out onto the sea was awe inspiring. It may take a bit of time for them to cook your food but it's well worth the wait, after all good things take time. It has that rustic laid back vibe, the one that you always read about but never quite find. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed

"Best In The West" is a casual restaurant in Negril that offers delicious Jamaican cuisine, with a focus on jerk dishes. Customers have raved about the spicy jerk spices and the perfectly cooked curry chicken. The menu also includes jerk pork, curry shrimp, and refreshing beverages. The service staff is known for being courteous and professional. Visitors recommend trying the jerk pork with rice and peas as well as the well-seasoned chicken soup.
The Best in the West has definitely the best Jerk Chicken I have ever tried. And don’t forget to order the jerk sauce it was sooo delicious. Even for vegan people there are options to eat some good food. Will miss this place. Go there try it out and enjoy it you wont regret it I promise.

We saw a few reviews online and they seemed great so we thought we would give it a try. We stopped in to this cool little spot which was not to far from our villa and we are glad we did. The food was delicious. Jerk spices were really spicy which we loved. We ordered a bunch of menu items and took it back to our spot to do a buffet type meal. The curry chicken was cooked perfectly. We tried the jerk pork and chicken. Both were some of the best I’ve had. The curry shrimp was delicious as well. We were all very pleased. Definitely recommend

Let me start by saying this cute little place is located in Negril. We stumbled upon this great restaurant by accident. We didn’t make a reservation and we’re seated right away. We ordered and the food came out quickly, and was freshly made. The food was nothing short of amazing, with great flavor and super filling. We ordered fish soup “fish tea” and chicken soup both were generous servings and tasted great. We then both ordered oxtails with rice & peas which was cooked to perfection falling off the bone again with generous serving sizes. We ordered fried chicken to go and oh man it was so still crispy, and so juicy the next day for lunch! We tried a sweet potato pudding and ohhhh man the sweetness the softness was so good. This place is like a little hidden gem definitely a must try.

This was a 10/10 experience. It was our one dinner outside of the resort and the location felt very safe and accommodating. It was awesome to leave the walls of the resort and be exposed to some of the beautiful culture in Negril. We hired a driver and the restaurant even called him when we were done for us. The food was authentic, favorable, and a true highlight. We had the jerk chicken and the lobster with the sides. The jerk sauce was the best I ever had. You can take it to go as well. They also have t shirts you can buy. The service was also great and the owner checked on us. They also had patio seating and a piano player!

Service was by far some of the best I have received in Jamaica, very nice, courteous and proper. The food was decent as well, the jerk chicken was very flavorful but it wasn't the best I have had in Jamaica. Still I will definitely be back for the atmosphere and vibe alone.

One of the locals we met recommended this place. My friend and I were originally supposed to have dinner at Ricky’s Cafe but decided to come instead… I’m glad we did. Loved the grilled lobster, rice and peas and dumplings! But the best part about this place are the services and the locals. It’s a simple mom n pops restaurant that serves a lot of flavor and deliciousness 😁

I love the outdoor/street side dining. Our server was polite and helpful. The food was good and very reasonable in price and size. 😋 We ordered jerk chicken, which was done nicely, and the steam fish was so tasty.

Coming from my Louisiana mother, I’ve learned to love jerk chicken ESPECIALLY when it kicks. We heard this place was the best in town and it didn’t disappoint!! The food was pretty good, however lacked the spice I was looking for. I didn’t necessarily think it was the ‘best’ in terms of jerk chicken, but the fried chicken was indeed incredible. I think I’d check out elsewhere next time around but I think this is a must try for negril first timers.

Service was 10/10 the stairs to go upstairs were steep and the bathroom was small still clean though so I didn’t really have an issue the food was good and the price was great for a restaurant on the beach road. Nice restaurant if you’re looking for a low key hangout spot for date night while in Jamaica.

Our driver from the airport plus multiple people and the reviews brought us to the restaurant. We stayed near by and night after night it was busy. We went there for dinner when their solar power was down. Super busy, got a table for two. Ordered 1/2 jerk and oxtail and some cocktails. Underwhelmed by the food. First oxtail was under seasoned and tough which means they didn’t cook it slow and long enough. Which is disappointing because I was really looking forward to it. Jerk chicken, I did not taste…thyme, pepper, or salt. They had jerk sauce on the table which was decent but didn’t taste like jerk sauce but more like bbq sauce. Service was friendly but for the hype and price I wouldn’t go back. We did find better jerk chicken in Negril.

Very authentic. The vibe, the food, the atmosphere. If you go definitely get a fruit smoothie, it's nothing like what you get in the states. The rice and peas is the best I have EVER had EVER! The festival is good too! Looks like a place tourist would drive by, but don't let the small location fool you. Best meal in jamaica!

Great Food and the setting was night life...with the Jamaican music to enjoy while waiting for your food. It was a bus load of us. We were in and out in less than a hour. Good vibes. Thanks.

Wife and I had ordered the fried lobster and the curry chicken both fresh and excellent. As we waited for our orders, we watched the chef grill the jerk chicken. That also looked and smelled delicious. We ordered a couple drinks as well they were a bit underwhelming. Unfortunately the staff wasn't welcoming at all they stared and made you feel uneasy.

We got this recommendation from Captain Jason during our snorkeling excursion earlier in the day. We traveled to Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, and Port Antonio - the jerk chicken was the best at this place. Best In The West was delicious at every selection made. My favorite by far was the Oxtail with bammy on the side. If you are passing through Negril, I highly recommended you eat here!

This is a casual restaurant that serves delicious Jamaican food with emphasis on Jamaican jerk dishes. In addition, they have a wide variety of refreshing beverages. I had the jerk pork with rice and peas which was very tasty. I also had a chicken soup that was well seasoned and hearty. The service staff was courteous and professional. I highly recommend patronizing this restaurant when in Negril.

The manager is very rude and wanted to argue with us and told us when we go to a restaurant we should as how the dish is prepared. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The food is terrible. We ordered the jerk chicken pasta and it tasted like spaghetti with tomato sauce and plain chicken. No flavor and very Americanized. We tried to swap the food out for something different or to get a refund and they wouldn't accept either until my wife argued with the manager for 5 minutes and she finally refunded it. When we told her we weren't paying for it and we didn't eat it she had the nerve to ask who was going to pay for it then! I've never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. They treated my wife like dirt because she is Jamaican. Do NOT EAT HERE!!

A well known Jerk Chicken shack in Negril, across from the Coco La Palm resort. The food was good. Decent prices. The Jerk Chicken was good, the Jerk Pork was nice and spicy and the Shrimp Curry was tasty. Personally, overall decent food, very similar to a lot of the side street restaurants. The service was great, enjoyed Sabrina’s customer service and friendliness.

Damn the jerk chicken here is good! Low key spot on the side of the road but it’s so worth it to stop by. Try the oxtails, the jerk chicken of course, and the conch soup. So good I might have to be back before I leave.
