Murcia

Murcia is a university city in southeastern Spain and the capital of a region also named Murcia. Plaza Cardenal Belluga is the city’s architectural showpiece, where the ornate cathedral, with its mash-up of styles from Gothic to baroque, and the colorful 18th-century Palacio Episcopal stand in striking contrast to the modern 1990s Ayuntamiento (city hall) annex by architect Rafael Moneo.

The Real Casino de Murcia is a museum located in the city of Murcia,Spain. It is home to an extensive collection of antique gaming equipment and artworks from around the world. The building was constructed in 1853 and has since been declared a historic-artistic building.
Wow this is a little hidden gem. It's not a casino, it's a private members club, but four a small fee you can go in and see the most spectacular architecture and interior decor. You get a little book that explains what each room was used for. Plenty of places for you to sit so you can just look and admire. Well worth a visit
Terrie Kay — Google review
Most fantastic building and contents you will ever see. Fantastic art fantastic Arab style. If you there or when you there don't miss it

It’s a must visit if you are in Murcia ! Is a cultural casino with more than 1600 members , they do book launches , art exhibitions and more …! You feel like in a movie, a lot of rooms with different themes , I recommend you to go on Sunday between 7-9 pm is free entrance !
Airaiba Sarria — Google review
Great 19th-century building with outstanding features of different architectural styles. Visit focuses on ground-floor level as upper floor is still in use by the associates.
Guillermo Molina Burguera — Google review
Totally beautiful on the outside yet unassuming, highly recommend taking a quick look around, it's about 4 euros ish but it's stunning and well worth some time out to peruse the beautiful architecture
Alan Malt — Google review
Absolutely stunning, eclectic architecture that manages to capture the historical phases of Murcia. The entrance is breathtaking, photos can’t truly illustrate the beauty of this place. 5€ fee/ 3€ in groups. Self-guided tours (qr code) or paper booklet guide. Love it!
Amritta Raynaud — Google review
Very nice inside. Cozy and unforgettable. Recommendation to visit.
Gediminas Navikas — Google review
Extremly attractive building partly still use to socialize. Interior of different stiles, most attractive are the arab elements.
Igor Fabjan — Google review
Absolutely loved this! Nice man at the ticket desk when we arrived who automatically gave us a leaflet in English. Worth the 5€ entry fee. Unfortunately I couldn't find restaurant reviews so thought there wasn't a restaurant, yet there was - too late for us as we ate prior to arriving. The menu looked good. It was open on a Monday which was good as not everywhere is.
Nikki Parker — Google review
Stunning building well worth a visit when visiting Murcia. The entrance is on the main pedestrian street towards the cathedral. The entrance fee was only a few euro each. The detail and decoration is amazing, each room has a different feel and design. It is still used as a private club so not all areas are open to the public.
Clara Lewis — Google review
so beautiful mix style casin..each room have different atmosphere and the arabic courtyard in the eneterance is amazing
Zahraa Ziad — Google review
Well worth the 5 euro entry fee. A visit of one hour should allow you to see the casino and experience the rich history of the building. There are many opportunities for some great photos.

Very nice museum. You pay when you get there and there is no parking as it's in the centre of Murcia

Historical landmark
Plaza de Las Flores is a picturesque square surrounded by charming cafes, tapas bars, and boutiques housed in period buildings. It serves as the epicenter of social life in Murcia where locals and tourists alike gather to indulge in traditional marinera tapas accompanied by beer or wine. However, despite its central location among other restaurants, the square can get quite noisy due to people delivering products on carts. Nonetheless, it remains a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Murcia.
Lovely vibrant square with lots of bars and restaurants. Had lovely tapas, bit more expensive than a bar in front of the cathedral ??? However the tapas were very good and freshly prepared, staff were also very friendly and helpful
Christine Smith — Google review
This was our first Paella 🥘 delicious but tasted too fishy afterwards. But we liked it. The octopus was jummy but I thought there would be more octopus. We sat outside. Location was in the center amongst other restaurants too but it was just too noisy with activities of other people dragging the cart to deliver products to restaurants. And we came around 12-1pm so we thought it was lunch time already (?)
Christina Beatrice — Google review
Nice small square. I was expecting more flowers due to the naming, but there was only one floristry. It had a nice ambiance though, there are plenty of bars and rstaurnats.

Great area full of tapas bars to choose from. Great atmosphere, especially early evening.
Ros Williams — Google review
Beautiful place, especially for a coffee or quick drink, or a full meal. Probably my favourite place in Murcia.
Ged Naughton — Google review
Pretty little square with one fountain surrounded by flowers. Bars/restaurants around the edge of the square & a couple of flower stalls. To be honest I expected more flowers in the Plaza than there were..
Clare — Google review
Lovely plaza to walk around and explore the gastronomy besides the good atmosphere
Santiago Solano — Google review
Nice little place with some flowers and a fountain, few Cafes and restaurants around it. You can sit and let the life goes by.
Gerhard R. — Google review
WOW what a great city Murcia is, lots to see and do, beautiful buildings and squares and very traditional streets to lose yourself in for a few hours, plenty of bars and eateries to chose from. wil definitely visit again.
Dom Smith — Google review
A lovely plaza full of historical and period buildings. Restaurants and cafes abound. Make time and save room in order to sample as many elegant tapas as you ça. There are also many small shops full of curious and unusual items.. from clothes to jewellery to keepsakes/memorabilia. Definitely worth the time.
Bruce Scott — Google review
Beautiful square in the heart of Murcia with plenty of upmarket and traditional bars and restaurants
Patricia Wond — Google review
The Plaza was lovely But you need to check the places to eat. Our food was not the best also high priced for what we got and the waiter was not the best
Shirley Butler — Google review
Very pretty and atmospheric square with plenty of lovely cafes and bars and beautiful flower stalls.
Helen Price (Nice Stuff Yeah) — Google review
English translation for Plaza de las Flores is ‘Flower Square’ but I don’t see many flowers around. However, orange trees are seen everywhere. There are many tapa cafes around for alfresco dining and customers are spoilt for choice. There is also a circular fountain and the statute of Mary to take pictures with. Overall, it is a pleasant place to have a meal and people-watching. Centrally located, this is an historic plaza ringed by architecturally interesting buildings, cafes and small restaurants. This is a busy plaza, people constantly passing through, both locals and tourists, thereby presenting a constant parade of people of the world. Find a nice table, order something to drink or eat, settle in, observe things, talk with your friends or family, say hello to someone, smile and laugh... this is the place for it.

Sculpture museum
Museums
This museum is dedicated to the famous Murcian artist, Francisco Salzillo. The collection contains a wide range of his works, which are known for their baroque style. Highlights include his exquisite pasos (figures carried in Easter procession) and religious themed sculptures.
The museum was opened a few years ago, it contains the original Baroque religious sculptures made by Salzillo, the Murcian artist who lived during the Inquisition, in the 18th century. The entry fee is around 3/5 € and it includes the chapel of Jesus. The sculptures are used during the procession on Good Friday, before Easter. The museum was visited by the King of Spain for a recent exhibition and is kept really well.

one of the best museums I have ever been..quiet interesting how the connect the museum to the church from all directions and the windows that give u acces to look at the church from top inside and outside..highly reommended
Zahraa Ziad — Google review
It is a museum about a sculpture who made the religious statues that get paraded around at Easter.
Motorhome Quest — Google review
The museum is quite interesting. You have the museum in the beginning and then the church. There is an option of the guide tour. The price for the entrance is 5 euros per person. I would highly recommend for the visit.

A must see in Murcia, to appreciate its cultural richness and traditions. Even if you are not a fan of art, it's an experience of life, culture and history of Murcia. Plan a good hour to appreciate the museum. I recommend the tour guide. And if it is with Olga, even more.
André Blanchette — Google review
It's OK, interesting story behind the sculptures made by salzillo, if you are not religious but admire art this is a nice place, if you are neither. It is not recommended at all. I took the tour guide with Olga, she was amazing. Tour well detailed.

4C. Federico García Lorca

Mentioned on
C. Federico García Lorca is renowned for its Imperial sausage, which may sound like a reference to Julius Caesar but is actually a type of pork sausage with a unique local flavor. While Spain is often associated with Jamón Serrano, the dry-cured Spanish ham, in Murcia, the haunch of Chato used in their variety of this ham wins over everyone who tastes it.

Jardín de Floridablanca is an 18th-century public garden located in the Barrio del Carmen. It offers a charming escape with walking paths, a playground, and ample shade provided by giant ficus trees. The park's peaceful atmosphere makes it perfect for people-watching or simply relaxing on comfortable benches under the century-old trees. Visitors can also explore ruins of ancient structures within the garden.
Really nice park to visit. The trees there are phenomenal. The park has a very relaxed atmosphere. Many benches to sit on. Lots of shade. Perfect to visit in the summer!

Beautiful shady gummy trees just in the city center to enjoy. Furthermore, epic comfortable benches to seat or sleep. Perfect place to meet as you have the city center really close and the A30 highway to drive somewhere else, best of both worlds.
Davidoff de la Fleve — Google review
More than a typical garden, it houses old trees and ruins of ancient structures long bygone. Nice place to kill time on the benches under the shades of century-old trees, amidst the singing of birds and insects.

Tapas bar
El Pasaje de Zabalburu is a Spanish restaurant with exquisite, innovative cuisine. The setting is very intimate and romantic and the prices are high, but it's worth it for the delicious food.
The best tapas place for seafood in Murcia. The tuna selection is amazing, there are so many choices, the wine list is also great. I recommend the ham+caviar+vodka combo to close the visit of this fantastic restaurant.

Can it get any better when you randomly discover a brilliant restaurant? Everything was top notch, from the delicious food (we still talk about their amazing Croquetas de sepia en su tinta) to the friendly and obliging staff, this place is a little gem!

Very interesting place for "fish lovers". They have beautiful fresh fish on display that you can choose. In addition the have special preparations that you can try: ask the waiter for suggestions. Friendly service

Fantastic tapasbar. We managed to get a spot at the bar. The waiter explained every dish that passed us, in English. The cuttlefish and ink croquetas were memorable, as was the sturgeon confit and the paparajotes. Recommended!
Marijke Van der Veen — Google review
Excellent dishes with very good service. I visited this place with some friends for Christmas after a friend’s recommendation. This place seems to be one of the Murcia Top 5. The presentation of every single dish is absolutely excellent. PROS: - The food is very fresh - They have a wide range selection of fresh food (mainly seafood and fish), but also meat - Desserts are prepared carefully (you should try the cheesecake or Baylis cake (waiter’s recommendations) - The quality-price rate is fine - The service was fast and very good even though the bar was full. CONS: - The place is sometime very crowded (but this is a good indicator as well) - The aren’t too many tables, so you will probably stay on the counter.

A perfect evening, perfect food, and perfect service from our waiter Freddy. Highly recommend the croquettas with sepia! The calamari a la plancha and the Japanese clams were also lovely. Interesting mix with the artichoke with sliced fat from a Jamon (not my favorite, but my novia liked it!). The red tuna tartar was the other dish we had. All very very nice! I saw some reviews that suggested it was expensive... I didn't think so (compared to Madrid!)... I took a photo of the bill so you can judge for yourself. We will come here next time we're in Murcia! Thank you Freddy!

Paying for the bill was very cool and futuristic. You go to the QR code on the table and pay through your phone!Washrooms were pretty good. Highly recommend this place.

REAL PIZZA!!! The dough is fantastic and the ingredients are fresh and original. Also there is a FULL vegan menu with lots of choices, good vegan meat but I found the vegan cheese a bit chewy tho is was of a good standard. The cannoli are incredibly tasty as well, I loved them! Only downside is the fact they don’t have any “Italian drinks”- I was looking forward to a good Aperol Spritz and a Montenegro or limoncello as digestive only to find out they do not have this products. I would definitely recommend the place and looking forward to come back to try the rest of the menu! The staff is also extremely friendly and kind! If you are looking for a REAL PIZZA, this is the place to go! Well done guys!

Best pizza I have ever had, anywhere. We arrived at 8.30pm and only one other couple in, within 15mins the place was packed. Small and informal seating, plastic plates and cups for drinks, only bottled or canned beer but that all added to the charm. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Will definitely go back when in Murcia.

A very cute space inside - the server was very friendly and helpful. I went with a friend and we shared a burger, fries, and nachos.
J Nazarali — Google review
Food is delicious. Those fries with vegan cheese were the best thing I have eaten in quite some time. We were 4 people, none of us vegan nor vegetarian, and still, we all loved our food and are looking forward to going back. In fact, one of the 4 lives nearby and goes there pretty regularly. The interior is decorated in a chill but fresh vibe. Pleasant decor and atmosphere. They welcome dogs inside and provide them with water and a bed so they can rest while their humans eat. There are also tables outside if you want to enjoy the (city) outdoors. The owner, Lorena, and the rest of the staff are very friendly and will help with any questions you may have. I booked my table online and it was all easily arranged. There are no pictures of our takeaway desserts (a diversity of homemade doughnuts) because they looked too good and so pictures were forgotten. But I can confirm that they were as good as they looked. If I lived closer, I would go more often. Totally recommended, and will definitely go back as soon as I can.

Really liked this place! Had a lot of choice on the menu, the man serving was very friendly and they are going without plastic something I was very happy about. Went just as they opened in the evening and even in 20 minutes the place was already getting full, so we weren’t the only ones who liked it! I got the queen fries, and honestly if you like fast food, was one of the best loaded fries I’ve had since being vegan :)
