Nature & Parks
Avenham and Miller Parks offer stunning views of the River Ribble, as well as a variety of historic features, such as Derby Walk. The parks are perfect for a quick stroll or an afternoon picnic, and are also home to a Japanese water garden.
Not the best season to visit the park but then still .. it was green and the flowers were everywhere. Very well maintained and specially loved the rolling hills and steep rocky climbs ... Area is huge, also has a small cafe to stop by. A must stop over, if you are in Preston a quick walk from Preston Railway Station

Lovely park. Not all entrances are accessible for wheelchairs and prams. We came in, or tried to, from East cliff side and it was bollards and steps so had to walk round. Very steep path all the way down the the pavilion but if you're pretty fit it's fine (I'm 8 and a half months pregnant). Lots of places to sit, lovely little cafe selling ice cream and barm cakes with bacon/sausage. Lovely stroll along the river ribble, wide flat paths perfect for pram, wheelchairs, runners and cyclists. Small park for the kids next to public toilets. They were clean enough but very dark. These were not wheelchair accessible and dis not have changing facilities for babies. We took a picnic and a football which was perfect. Lots of dog walkers and it was dog poo free (Lots of bins located around it). Unfortunately when we were there an idiot on a motorbike with a balaclava on riding close up to everyone including children. I'm guessing this is probably a one off and not a reflection of the park itself.

Stunning park, absolute credit to the grounds people. Japanese gardens beautiful. Such a relaxing walk, everyone seems to be chilled here, friendly and chatty. Local pub (continental) at one end or dog friendly cafe on the park (although they are missing a trick in not selling any dog treats, this would boost your profits given how busy you get with doggy visitors) Plenty of parking. Lots of families enjoying the last bits of nice weather. Football played at weekends. Guild wheel passes through so be mindful of the cyclists who seem to think everyone should move for them, other than the ignorant riders this is a top notch park.

Excellent place for all the family, Walkers, Runners and more. Great for wandering, taking a stroll, events and much more. I’ve come here many times over sixty years. Something for everyone

Always great walking in these parks no matter what the time of the year it is. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the pathways on the opposite side of the river have had a major upgrade. You can now easily walk to the Capitol Centre on a tarmac path, so no more dodging puddles and mud. Brilliant work done by Preston Council.

I love this place very much. It's great for some alone time. You can walk or you can sit and enjoy the view. This park is very big you can play, walk, sit and watch the river. It's my favourite place. In my pic it was evening time. If you like to see the sun then you have to go early 😉.

Beautiful park, something for everyone dogs, bike rides, walks, kids and just sitting and relaxing. Free parking and free toilets and a cafe (serving a limited menu at the moment). Grounds are wonderful Japanese gardens, large grassed areas, flowers and Two kids play areas, river walk is relaxing and quite.

Large park just to the south of Preston centre, great for exploring. Even found a cannon from the battle of Sevastopol!

Very beautiful scenery. Every angle is picturesque! I had the best time walking and taking the the view in, I even lost track of time.

It is a lovely, spacious and beautiful park. It is nicely maintained. Can easily spend a few hours here. A lot of space for picnics. Plenty of walking trails and cycle routes. Also, play areas for children. Recommended for all.

Lovely views / scenery. I enjoy the health walk on Monday mornings, and have heard good things about a group on Wednesday mornings. Just found the 'katsu' tree in the Japanese gardens, that smells of toffee apples when the leaves turn orange in Autumn.

Brilliant museum and art gallery in Preston that's free to visit. It's got a great range of exhibits and a lovely cafe and shop. Nice to see the display of the great Tom Finney and the beautiful Caribbean exhibition. The interior decoration of the building is stunning in it's own right.

Love the Rocks and Pillars cemented with rich history and heritage. Unfortunately could not go in as its still temporarily closed. Hope to get in soon ....

Beautiful small museum at heart of Preston. Entry is free and the staff is enthusiastic and sincere. The collection is well curated and displayed. The atmosphere exudes enthusiasm. Never seen such a small museum punching above its weight. Must visit to know the spirit of Preston
Abhijit Das — Google review
I found it fascinating, just enough history to keep you entertained without getting bored and the added bonus of an art gallery with some incredible paintings. The building is impressive also. Didn't visit the library part or the cafe so can't comment on those parts. Would visit again if I'm ever in Preston again.

Modest compared to many of the museums you might find in, say, Liverpool, but the crown jewel of Preston none the less. I don't live in Preston anymore and this is one of the places I miss the most. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and are happy to talk to you in detail about the art, the cafe is reasonably priced and has the most beautiful surroundings and the toilets are well maintained, if not the easiest to access. There's something for everyone here. Fine art, ceramics, textiles and local history all have their own large, dedicated rooms, plus there's a regular rotation of special exhibits. These are often more modern but not necessarily always, and might showcase amateur or student art, the work of a single professional artist, comic book art, prehistory, sculpture etc etc... Basically, despite the size of the building, you could spend hours here! Although I personally preferred to make regular, short visits, to drink up the atmosphere and gaze once again at my favourite works.

Very interesting and diverse collection of exhibitions, always changing. Excellent place for adults and children alike. The Harris Museum also houses Preston public library. There is also a cafe and gift shop.

I love being here. It is my favourite place in Preston. It's quiet, quaint, but airy. The displays and exhibitions catch the local taste. I would highly recommend going here if you are in Preston area and haven't already done so.

Recently did an internship here and I cannot recommend it more. The staff are just as welcoming and friendly as they seem (which seems to be rare) and they will always accommodate you, help you in anyway way and truly care about the place. The exhibitions and artefacts that are on display are also fascinating and well looked after.

Nature preserve
Nature & Parks
Brockholes is a nature reserve in Lancashire that is home to rare bird species, as well as the floating visitor village. It is a great place for family outings, with plenty of beautiful walks to explore.
Wonderful nature reserve with different walks. It has features like carved statues to spot, ponds, a little lake that the big cafe rests over. There's bird spotting areas & they have courses for children & adults working in nature being creative. A well run visitor centre with plenty of parking & a playground for kids. It's a great place for the family. Dog walking isn't allowed on the reserve though as the environment is delicate with birds & wildlife & closely governed.
Michaela Kerfoot — Google review
Absolutely love it here. Beautiful scenery and fantastic wildlife. They have a range of activities throughout the year for the kids which are either free or cost little. In the summer you can certainly make the day of it, great park for young and older kids especially. £5 parking all day, considering looking into monthly/quarterly cost for the car park so we can go more. Went today for the kids orienteering and the ladies there were absolutely fantastic, great service.
Amez — Google review
Very pretty wetland and nature reserve, so much to see and do. Visitors centre with plenty of interesting information and games and puzzles for children. Suitable walks for all mobilities all very well maintained (at the time of our visit). Large cafe with an extensive menu. Little shops (which were unfortunately closed at the time of our visit)
Cath Fielding — Google review
A very nice place to visit, the wildlife appeared to be taking a day off though, having said that at my age my walking range is a bit limited so will revisit. The catering is rudimentary in its offerings considering the modern kitchen and equipment available to staff. Parking there was plenty room, one option £5 for all day but money goes to funding the reserve.
Lee Wardle — Google review
Excellent place for an easy walk round the bird reserve. Plenty of hides to see the wildlife. Nice centre for snacks/drinks. Just a pity about the constant done of traffic from the M6.
David Williams — Google review
Lovely place to walk round and see wild life but the cafe is poor. No individual tables to sit at only long ones, coffee and tea have to be made yourself from machine, soggy chips being kept warm rather than freshly made. Should be better for the price. They need to check out Martin Meres cafe that is excellent.
Nigel Taylor — Google review
Great nature reserve. We visited on a Sunday morning. It's £5 to park in the carpark with automatic number plate detection when you enter. Plenty of space in the carparks. The UK's first floating visitor centre was great to visit. The woman in the visitor centre was really friendly and we picked up a map of the area. We got a drink and cookies in the cafe which were a tad on the pricy side. There's also toilets there too. We walked over five miles round the different trails. We saw squirrels, a heron, various birds, hares, longhorn cattle and deer. There was also a stone circle, bird hides and many sculptures dotted about the lakes. Would recommend a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Donna W — Google review
Plenty of different walks round with maps to follow. A pleasant walk along the river Ribble is a must do. There is also a woodland walk to view many different birds and animals. Large cafe and visitors centre. Just £5 car park charge. Well worth a visit.
Michael Boyes — Google review
Great place for a lovely walk/picnic and some fresh air. Free to enter just pay for carpark but that's reasonable considering the upkeep costs per day! Great playarea for the kids. Toilets on site. Food area and gift shop. Nice and clean. Plenty to see on the different trails. Kids enjoyed den building in the woods.
Darien Vernon — Google review
A stunning location. We went for the Santa event and it did not disappoint, my daughter found it magical. Parking is easy to access, there is a large outdoor play area enroute to parking that is easy to walk to. Even spotted deer is the tree line. Would definitely visit again. No dogs allowed on floating visitor centre area though. Loved it.
Rachel Lawson — Google review
Beautiful nature reserve, only wish we would have had more time to spend here. We would definitely have done the egg hunt. Lots of beautiful walks for all of the family.
Sewgemsews — Google review
My first visit and my family enjoyed very well. Went on a weekday with a nice weather not very busy, will surely go back. You have to pay £5 day ticket for parking cheaper when you buy an annual pass. Large Play area with activities for all ages, nice environment for family picnics
Khadija Ibrahim — Google review
Beautiful setting, car park is £5 but worth it for what's here. Great staff and prices are reasonable. Only thing that let it down was dog walkers in a place meant to be dog free. We brought our son with ASD as a safe space for him to feel free to run around but hampered by idiots who think more of their dogs than others or what the place is for. Would be good to see staff patrolling for issues such as this but aside from that a great time, fun explores and very relaxing.
Brendan Greaves — Google review
Beautiful place, great parking which you do have to pay for. Lovely walks and play areas for kids of all ages. No dogs allowed, unfortunately, but that's so there's no interference with the wildlife. Would recommend for a nice relaxing walk with family
Martyn Frost — Google review
Lovely place for a walk, wheelchair friendly, and child friendly. Nice cafe with seating and toilets. There's a decent kids play area on the other side of the car park.
Louis Sherwood — Google review
My first visit to this excellent nature reserve next to the M6 motorway. My sister who has been before guided us for a 3.6 miles walk around the reserve with coffees half way round. Paths were very muddy today but the weather was fine. It was very interesting watching the sand martins using the purpose built nest site.
Howard Marsh — Google review
A great nature reserve close to the M6 motorway with a floating visitor centre including a cafe, there is also a small play area for children and it has the Guild Wheel Cycle Route pass through the reserve as well as running alongside the River Ribble. There is a fee of £5 for the car park which covers for a full days visit, and the proceeds are put back into the site, you can also purchase a 3, 6 or 12 month car park pass to make it cheaper if you want to visit more often. A good selection of birds, ducks, squirrels and even deer roam around the site. The paths are good for those with walking difficulties, prams and wheelchairs too, although it was a tad wet and muddy when we visited but there has been quite a good amount of rain recently and the site is on a natural flood plain.
Trebor 1456 — Google review
Reclaimed land from an older quarry. The 'floating' village is striking, although quite how it floats is a mystery as it rests on concrete. The location and view though is spectacular. The cafe could be better, which is why I haven't given 5 stars.

Ribble Steam Railway & Museum is a well-maintained attraction with heritage steam trains that goes near Preston Dock. It's an excellent day out for the whole family and is also home to the collection from the Southport Railway Museum.
£25 for family ticket - 2 adults and 2 children. Friendly staff and volunteers. Small museum but if you are a train enthusiast you'll enjoy it. Steam Train ride was cool for the kids. Didn't try the café as we brought our own food. Little playground beside it. 3-4hrs was good enough for us.
Thomas Ryan — Google review
Great place, I'd totally recommend. Great food with decent children's lunch boxes, comfy MK1 coaches and beautiful steam engines, along with a fabulous museum to put the cherry on top. There is a total ride journey of around 20 minutes, winding through the woodlands beside the river Ribble. All the possible activities fit into the perfect time-frame of a good day out. Overrall, I would recommend to any rail enthusiasts out there, young or old, or even family members just for a nice day out. 5/5 stars!
Benji Boogle — Google review
A great couple of hours spent visiting this museum and heritage railway with family ranging from 2 yo to 70+. The provision for young children is excellent and there are lots of activities and exhibits they can touch and play with. The steam train was short and sweet, a very good activity if you’re not looking to spend the entire day on board. Views across the Ribble Marina were attractive and the pedestrians near the route all waved to us train passengers as we were added them by.. thoroughly convivial! The staff, made up mainly of volunteers (children, adults and seniors), are knowledgeable and enthusiastic and they make the day all the better. I’m not a train person but they made the subject lively and interesting as they spoke with passion. A real gem of a family day out, heartily recommended.

Lovely steam railway. Doesn't get too crowded. Good prices. Interesting museum. Cafe. Souvenir shop with limited stock available. Just a shame that there's only one station at the moment for a round trip. In the future it would be great to have a second station as a destination. Gala days have a good atmosphere. Recommended.

Excellent trip today Manager Paolo and Julie gave us a first class visit . Would highly recommend a visit here some good engines and coaches to view. Restoration carriage / engine shed, loved seeing the Princess Alexandra carriage . A lovely walk along the River Ribble to the museum. Ty

A lovely museum and railway offering rides behind trains over their 1.5 mile line. I visited on a gala day and found it thoroughly entertaining, there’s also plenty to see in the museum and a nice little tea room. All the volunteers I spoke to were really nice! A great day, with great locos and great volunteers! Thank you Ribble Railway and Museum for a good day!

Well this hidden gem is fantastic. Volunteers and workers are so lovely and enthused by engineering and history. Great for kids to get their imaginations going, and plenty of space to roam! Working railway behind the museum as well. The Santa train is amazing value for money, and everyone is so generous and kind. Free parking is a bonus. Also, amazingly allergy aware, providing gluten free alternatives, so impressive as our party had multiple allergies. So much thought to the place!
Andrew Carr — Google review
We did a murder mystery night, it was absolutely fantastic and the actors were brilliant. It's also a great museum to look around as well as offering a trip on the steam train. You can even get into some of the old carriages and into the cab of an old train in the museum. It has a nice cafe and a very well priced gift shop.

Steven Rixon — Google review
Good value railway in an interesting location. I visited on a steam gala so there were 4 locomotives working and there was always something happening. The red Furness no. 20 is absolutely stunning and worth the entrance fee to see in steam alone. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Maybe it was just me, but I found the ride boring. The view wasn't bad but not much was exciting. However, riding on a steam train was reward eniugh. The train itself was quite nice and comfortable

Our family (3 and 7 year old) had a lovely morning here. Enjoyed walking round the museum and a short play in the park. Went on the train twice. (as you can ride as much as you like) Went on a steam day which I think is worth it. As other reviews say. No need to book.

Turtle Bay in Preston is one of the best! The food is delicious and the cocktails are amazing! The restaurant itself is casual and very beach bar chic. As carribean fans, we enjoy our visits here to have a great experience! The staff are all amazing and very friendly. Keeley is one of the nicest young ladies around. I always wanted to try this Caribbean restaurant every time I came to Preston, but I never got around to it. This time I finally got a chance to try turtle bay. Rum BBQ Ribs with coconut rice, Jerk Pit Wings and sweet potato fries are what I ordered. The cuisine is completely different from European cuisine and tastes very novel. This is definitely not to say that this restaurant is not delicious, on the contrary, the food at this restaurant is outstanding. Both the Jerk series and Rum BBQ series have a spicier flavor, with Rum BBQ being spicier in comparison. At the same time, there are notes of complex spices and garlic. All in all, it was a very unique and delicious flavor that surprised me, who is tired of European cuisine. A very good restaurant, worth visiting again. Also which is great considering this restaurant has a chain in many cities across the UK. Special thanks to Jess H for your service! Spent a wonderful lunch time here.

The food was amazing, we had the Spicy Mac and Cheese and the Shack Stack burger, both of which were delicious. Staff were brilliant, but our server was just really lovely.

Overall the place has some good vibes and is a large premise that is well decorated. The food is well prepared, which is delicious and presented nicely. The starters were great with the salted fish and the other with the prawns (worth mentioning you need to get your hand messy). Mocktails were also good. There was a bit of a wait to be seated from the host, which was a rocky start. However, Eliana our table waitress was attentive and adds great value to the restaurant; she helped overcome the initial hurdle for a colleague and made it a good experience in the end. Thanks again Eliana.

Absolutely wonderful establishment! Was greeted very kindly by staff, and served promptly. I had the curried goat, with wings and dumplings, and found it to be incredibly tasty. Drinks are very tasty too.

The Italian Orchard is a charming family-owned restaurant that offers a blend of contemporary and traditional Italian cuisine. The establishment features an elegant glass-fronted extension, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners. With its exceptional food, top-notch service, and lively ambiance, this restaurant is truly remarkable. Additionally, there is a playground outside for children to keep them entertained while parents dine.
The best Italian I’ve had in a long while. The restaurant is well presented and very stylish ideal for special occasions. The food was full of flavour and served piping hot. It was well presented and faultless. I will defiantly be returning in the near future. Well done to the owner and team.

Came here with a large group and enjoyed a delicious three-course lunch. This classy Italian restaurant is only a few minutes from the motorway, at the end of a narrow country lane. There's ample free parking space. Could not get over how large and spacious this place is! There's a stylish and well stocked bar just inside the entrance, another bar where you can get cakes and desserts, a large dining area and at least two smaller ones. Decor is both modern and elegant. The ladies room is also spacious and very clean, with a separate baby changing room. The waiters who served us were friendly and attentive, and one in particular was full of jovial banter! Service was quick and well organised considering the size of our group. We ordered and paid for our drinks at the bar (they take both cash and card payments). The barman was chatty and friendly, and what a fantastic choice of Italian wines! Quite expensive though, £9.60 for a large Merlot. The lunch menu was huge, with a very wide selection of mainly Italian dishes and a few vegetarian options. Had goat's cheese served on a mushroom and polenta crouton (wonderful flavour!), followed by porchetta in red wine sauce with roast potatoes and seasonal veg. Both courses were beautifully presented, well seasoned and piping hot. Ample portions. My only slight criticism was with the tiramisu, which I felt needed more liqueur to give it that bit more flavour. But overall a great lunch experience that everyone appeared to enjoy! Would come again.

The dining area had an Italian feel. But it was still a lovely, modern, romantic restaurant. I had the squid ink ravioli, filled with seabass, layered with a cheese prawn sauce and some tomatoes and rocket. It was great! The food is top notch and drinks menu really good! It's also set in a very nice area.

THE WORST FOOD. We have been looking forward to visiting this restaurant for a really long time, we finally managed to go, for our birthdays. Out of all the dishes we ordered only 1 of the starters was edible. We ordered ‘fresh’ mussels which were absolutely not fresh. I also ordered lobster, the lobster was so unappetising and MUSHY I couldn’t even finish it. The spaghetti tasted like it was also undercooked, and left on the side to harden. For £95+ on a two person meal I would have expected so much better. I can’t believe this is how any restaurant would serve lobster. Absolutely would never recommend.

The Italian Orchard is a stunning dining experience that excels in everything apart from the food itself. The meal I had was tasty but I was waiting to be blown away. The new extension area which contains the bar is breathtaking and I think I just wanted everything else to match that. I would go again but sadly wouldn’t scream and shout about it!

Excellent bar and that would be it. The resration place is not impressive, it has no Italian atmosphere Closer, it looks like a place in a 3-star hotel . As for the food, see the photo The main course was covered in sauce so much that you couldn't see what you were eating And it doesn't look very nice on the plate potatoes overcooked and fried without any taste water vegetables added only as decoration. because there weren't many of them, there weren't any at all The only thing that was correct was the bill because the prices were astronomical, but the cuisine was very poor considering the price. the service was Ok but he should have been more interested in the customer than just serving the dishes ( sometimes it's worth having a word with a client ) You can go and check it out, but I wouldn't choose this place again.. I rate the place 3 stars ⭐⭐⭐ I

Outstanding Italian restaurant. Expansive menu, huge wine list, fantastic building. Brilliant large, high quality car park. Comparatively well priced, but it's a full high class, full service, Italian restaurant.... Can get Extraordinarily busy causing slower service and nonchalant staff.

Lovely meal with family. The food is always excellent (as is the cocktail menu!!) and reasonably priced. I love the service you always get here. The staff are always friendly and very attentive. As soon as you have finished a course or your drink, the waiter / waitress is there. I would efinitely recommend the place.

My wife took me and our children here for a birthday meal, and it was absolutely lovely. Very nice setting, with an outdoor drinking area and little play park for the kids, and absolutely stunning restaurant and bar area inside. All the staff were great and even snag happy birthday to me at the secret request of my kids! Local to us and can’t wait to go back!

We visited as part of a group of 18 on a busy Saturday afternoon in the run-up to Christmas. Some of us had been before, some hadn’t. Service was excellent, especially considering the size of our group and how busy it was. Food was excellent at remarkably friendly prices. Lots of staff, all very much on the ball. Recommended!

Recently, I attended a 60th birthday celebration at Ego, a charming restaurant located at The Fox Cub in Little Hoole. Despite it being midweek, the place was bustling with activity, showcasing its popularity among patrons. The staff were incredibly welcoming and created a warm and cozy ambiance with live entertainment. The food was flawlessly prepared and beautifully presented, evoking flavors of the Mediterranean. Moreover, the restaurant offers an extensive menu with a variety of options to cater to different preferences.
Oh man - the food here is so good. Very classy dining room, very nice staff and the lemon chicken was fantastic. Highly recommend

Ok experience, nothing super special. Steak was good, recommend asking for proper chips rather than skin on fries. I went with expectations of menu items that are a bit more high end gastro pub, it being an Ego, but it's more chef and brewer, to the point that I wouldn't know the difference between it and it's vintage inns counterpart. Only real food disappointment were the calamari, rubber bands in soggy batter, however they were fab when I mentioned it and offered to replace them but I'd dived too far into the pitta bread by then 🤣 Highlight was the Queen Bee cocktail absolutely divine, wish I'd not been driving otherwise I'd have had the two for £12 offer several times! Service was good for the first hour but then dwindled off, empty plates and glasses left on the table etc. Don't think I'd go back again except for the cocktails.

Attended 60th birthday celebrations for a midweek evening meal. A wonderful place. Very friendly staff, homely atmosphere with live entertainment. The restaurant was busy despite it being mid week, highlighting it's popularity. Food was perfectly cooked and well presented...we dressed our own table with flowers and balloons and were allowed to take our own birthday cake , which were allowed to eat as dessert. Staff were accommodating right the way through the evening. I highly recommend Fox Club to anyone who has not been.

Good Food, staff were great and very accommodating. Very nice atmosphere and lovely little countryside restaurant. Only downside is they added a 24% service charge then asked for tip without showing they had already added service charge meaning they got almost £50 tip I'm not saying I wouldn't have given this but to add 24% then ask for more is a little off to me.

We came for a family lunch and had a very good time. The staff were very welcoming and friendly! We had our pooch on tow and she was also very welcomed! They had some doggie treats which she enjoyed very much. There were a lot of choices on each course and it suited our family of different tastebuds! The food was fresh and delicious. There were a few I would have chosen! So will come back to try the other dishes!!

Lovely place, beautiful decor and large garden with plenty of outdoor seating. Only issue is the close proximity to the dual carriageway. Unfortunately I've just re-visited and had a meal and I've needed to downgrade it to 3 star's from 4 as the food was poor. It was kebab night so I chose the vegetarian option of halloumi and unfortunately it was bearly cooked. Only the halloumi was cooked fully, the red onion was completely raw as was the courgette and peppers. The wraps were also cold. In fairness my friend had the lamb kebab and said it was cooked better and tasted nice, so maybe its just the halloumi. I also had the strawberry and passion fruit Eaton Mess which was tasty but a bit disappointing as the passion fruit was just ice cream and the strawberries had been blended to almost oblivion into whipped cream. It would have made a big difference if they had added a couple of fresh strawberries ontop of the cream mixture just before it's served. I'm also sorry to say that the young girl who served us was miserable and didn't listen as she got my drink wrong, I'm just glad I checked as I was driving and would have been over the limit.

Afternoon lunch on a very hot day, so decided to eat inside rather than in the beer garden. Lovely large restaurant with a separate bar area. Varied Mediterranean style main menu and a lunch time menu. Good food and friendly service. We will be back again.

Good pub food and a nice range of beers including real ales. The kebabs are their speciality and are the best hanging kebabs according to my daughter. There is also a wide range of other options including some vegetarian and vegan options. I had the steak pie which was absolutely filled with steak and extremely tasty. My wife had the chilli king prawn linguine which she said was one of the best that she had tasted. The decor and furniture are bright, clean and modern. Excellent, unhurried service. Sam, our waiter was brilliant. He was wonderful with our dog (who loved him) and very polite and friendly. To conclude it's a nice place to come and have a relaxed pub lunch or evening meal. BTW Monday to Saturday - 2 courses for just under £19, good value for excellent food.

If you're looking for a delicious meal in Preston, look no further than East Z East. The restaurant is bustling and full of life, with great service and a fantastic cocktail menu. You won't be disappointed!
Took a friend of mine on Saturday. Called to change my booking from 7.30pm to 8.30pm an hour before and they were happy to do so. Restaurant was lively, service was great and the food excellent. I've been before many times and never had a bad meal. My friend thought it was great. Will be back...

It was definitely a place with a difference. When you enter, a lady at the reception welcomes you and seats you into very plush chairs in the waiting area, which is next to the bar. Within a few minutes, they take you to a table and she leaves. From then until you get your food on the table, it was a lot of disorganised effort by the serving staff. That continued through the meal. One had to catch the eye of, wave to, or actually call out to one of them to ask for something. No one came to check if we were getting along well or needed something. Mango lasso was served without glasses; we asked someone to come and take my friend's drinks order, but no one came; our water jug ran out of water and no one came to refill it; and so on On to the decor: a very elaborate ceiling with plastic flowers and ribbons everywhere, but a trashy floor. Tables weren't cleaned and a lot of leftover food was on the floor between the tables. The food: we had two different starters. The lamb seekh kebabs were average. The paneer grill was superb. For the main course, we had a g-g chicken and a tarka dal. We had both with a tandoori roti. The chicken was average too. Service: this was really below-par. Overall: ****

I'll start with the positive. The food is outstanding and probably one of the best curries I've had in years, the pilau rice actually tastes of something unlike most restaurants. The giant naan is a little gimmick but good value (just needs more garlic butter) The service was great. Friendly and not overly intrusive and drinks kept on flowing (as reflected on the bill, the drinks are incredibly expensive here) However, now for the downside. I went out with friends with the hope of having a catch up over some good food. Well unfortunately due to the loud music and loud guests it was barely possible to speak to the person next to you. They'd arranged a large table behind me who had to crawl under their table to get out, which meant alot of shoving and prodding of our table due to lack of room. So in short, foods great, service is fantastic, atmosphere leaves alot to be desired.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at East Z East in Preston, and it truly stands out as one of the best spots for delicious Indian cuisine. The naan and chicken varieties were exceptional, and the poppadoms with pickle tray were a must-try starter. East Z East is highly recommended for a delightful culinary experience!

Really enjoyed the food. Waiters were attentive. The place is nicely decorated. My only gripe was the music. We went on valentines day and would expect some romantic indian music. Instead they were playing english dance music so loud we could barely talk to each other. Particularly funny when they played "do you think you're better off alone"

The Roebuck is a British pub that offers a range of traditional dishes and has a welcoming atmosphere for families. It boasts a beer garden where patrons can enjoy homemade meals and locally brewed ales. The restaurant provides comfortable seating and the staff are friendly and accommodating. One standout employee, Chloe, provided excellent service with her willingness to go above and beyond. However, one drawback is the limited menu options, likely due to deliveries being only available on Mondays.
Really nice food, super friendly staff, nice decorations and music :-)

A lovely evening Sunday meal. The restaurant was comfortable and the staff were extremely pleasant. We particularly appreciated the good service we received from Chloe for whom nothing was too much trouble. The only downside of our visit was the limited menu available to us. I was looking forward to the sea bass and scallops, but I believe the restaurant only has deliveries on Mondays so due to the popularity of the restaurant much of the food had been consumed earlier in the weekend. Nonetheless we will return.

The Roebuck is a fantastic venue hidden away by the canal in Barton. The venue is warm and cosy and decorated in a modern yet rustic fashion. The Roebuck benefits by being a smaller venue than some cavernous pub restaurants as the staff can be highly attentive and the same can be said about the menu, rather than pages upon pages of food options each dish appears to be hand selected and from what we had, will be of exceptional quality. I ordered the Sunday roast turkey and it was absolutely delicious. There was plenty of food without being overwhelming and each piece had been cooked to perfection. The goose fat and rosemary potatoes along with the roast parsnips and carrots were unbelievably tasty. I thoroughly recommend both the meal and the Roebuck.

First the positives. Anna our server was fabulous. So polite, friendly and courteous. Excellent at her job too. The mini pudding , in the tiny plant pot was delicious, ( Eton mess). Now the negatives...ordered the 3 roasts. The slices of Turkey and Pork were good...the rest, not so good. Beef very, very pink, fatty and I could not cut it. Roast potatoes, hard and dry. Veg, overcooked. I left most of it. I was offered another meal, but declined. Money for my main was refunded. I think if ordering a roast, then the earlier the better. Should be fresh too. I don't know why the beef is that pink????? Not everyone likes it like that.

Had an evening meal here whilst staying at the Premier Inn. The service was good and all the staff were friendly. It was a nice atmosphere and not too loud. A few of the Sunday lunch options were sold out but they gave alternatives. Portion sizes were good. New children’s menu was really good.

After walking nearly 20 miles from Lancaster we couldn't have had a warmer welcome from Aimee and her colleagues. We had an excellent Hunters style chicken and a steak, followed by a Green and Black's Special Hot Chocolate with orange liqueur which was devine. It was a Thursday evening around 8:00pm so pretty quiet which gave us time to chat to the staff a little. Despite living in Preston this was our first visit but it definitely won't be the last. We especially loved the photos of local scenes and landmarks some of which were harder to place than others. Would recommend!

Visited the Roebuck this afternoon what a lovely and welcoming little place it is. The food was absolutely beautiful, very generous size portions too. Very reasonably priced menu as-well. We were served by Chole who was very friendly and polite with a fast service. I would definitely recommend the Roebuck to anyone and will certainly be visiting again in the near future.

Had a meal here this evening while staying at the Premier Inn next door. Had the Duo of Korean Chicken which was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. The sticky toffee pudding was incredible too. Lovely pub/restaurant and great friendly service. Went for a walk down the canal afterwards - such a beautiful area. Would definitely eat at the Roebuck again. Edit: Had breakfast here the following morning which was also absolutely delicious and good speedy service.

Hi I have been to Roebuck many times as I stay locally in a b and b.Latest visit 09/03/24 .Food and service good. However presentation of drinks not good.Pink gin lemonade x 2 served in a large tumbler couldn't taste any gin.Complained received them then in small tumbler .Apparently only 1 gin glass in pub.Other than slice lemon no other fruit added.Brockmans ordered also in a large tumbler. Our 2nd night we planned to visit for cocktails, however a cocktail is special and nicely decorated. After pink gins gave it a miss.So disappointing .
