A beautiful place to relax. You could do a run on the side of the river. It's very calm and nice. Don't go in the evening or night because the mosquitos will eat you alive.

Absolutely worth to visit Pavia, it's a nice small town. You can take a walk on the main street and shop nice stuff.

There is a nice view from the bridge. As I know the original bridge was damaged during World War II. This one was reconstructed but still it is worth to see. The river looks clean. I even cooled my feat in it.

Wonderful lombardic-roman basilica, San Michele Maggiore stands here since 1100 and is today recognized as one of the most impressive churces of the Longobardic period.

The church is impressive. The old sandstone of the façade is impressive. I found the inside less taken care of as it used to be. Especially the crypt. No light to the stone steps to go down. Dark the inside, sloppy the cloth on the altar. I was so surprised, I use to come here when I am near Pavia. San Michele was probably my favourite church... I was really deluded!

San Michele Maggiore can be considered the prototype of other important medieval churches in Pavia such as San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro and San Teodoro. However, it differentiates from latter in the use of sandstone instead of bricks, and for the Latin cross plan with a nave and two aisles and a much extended transept. San Michele's transept, provided with a true façade, a false apse and a barrel vault different from the rest of the church, constitutes a nearly independent section of the edifice. Also its length (38 m, compared to the 55 m of the whole basilica), contributes to this impression. At the crossing of nave and transept is the octagonal dome, a 30 m-high asymmetrical structure supported on squinches, in the Lombard-Romanesque style. It is reportedly the earliest example of this form in Lombardy. The façade is decorated by numerous sandstone sculptures, of religious or profane themes; they are however now much deteriorated. The façade has five double and two single mullioned windows and a cross, which are a 19th-century reconstruction of what was thought be the original scheme. Bas reliefs in horizontal bands portray human, animal and fantastic figures. Over the minor portals are portrayed St. Ennodius, bishop of Pavia, and St. Eleucadius, archbishop of Ravenna. The aisles have matronaea with statical function. Ennodius and Eleucadius. The presbytery has fragments of a notable pavement mosaic with the Labours of the Months and mythological themes. The exterior of this cathedral is a bit dull with poor brickwork. But inside, you are overwhelmed by the massive pillars and the fine details all around.

Beautiful Cathedral. I was baptized here as a child and the priests are always very kind and respectful. People keep complaining that it's "unkept" or "mistreated" or "bad exterior," that's because it was built in the 15th century. Don't listen to the negative reviews, this place is wonderful.

The cathedral is nice. I like big columns inside. It's not ornate like many other churches I've seen, but that's not to say it's not beautiful. And there is San Siro inside.

BEAUTIFUL DUOMO in PAVIA, HUMBLE ROMANIC STYLE with RED BRICK WALLS, WHITE INTERIORS/LIGHT COLOURS.

Such a big Duomo for such a relatively small city. In front of the church there is a horse’s statue with a warrior on it. There’s a competition in the town between graduates of 5 different schools, and the winner gets to paint the balls of the house!

A must to visit! Take a 360 walk to admire the architecture from different angles. Inside it is incredible!

Visconti Castle is a nice place to go to spend maybe 2-3 hours in. Firstly the garden around the castle is very nice and serene (free to access), to enter the castle itself you need a ticket. The reason I gave this 4 stars is that the ticket is €10 per person which is not at all reasonable, and adding to that there is no discount for students (at least that’s what the lady said when we asked). The castle is a museum as well with nice and interesting pieces of history, including some ancient Egyptian artifacts (which caught me by surprise). The architecture of the castle itself is beautiful, it apparently has 4 floors but we could only access the ground and first floor (which has nothing but locked doors). On the ground floor you can enter the “museum” part of the castle. All in all a nice place to visit, but it felt kind of dead and boring sometimes. And I would not come here again simply because of the unreasonable price, only suitable for a one-time visit.

There is a little plaque that tells you the original spot where his remains were found, this can be found on the right hand side as you enter the church. Worth a visit. Highlights are the frescoes showing Pavia during the French siege (notice the canons). The painted stone statue of St Theodore near the altar is as also worth noting. Very quiet. San Teodoro is a Romanesque-style Roman Catholic church in the town center of Pavia, Italy. A church at the site is documented since the year 752. Comprehensive venue. Pools, for adults and little ones, lots of fun, super clean water and poolside, tiled or grass areas as you like, sunbeds, shaders, bars, indoor and outdoor restaurant (Swimland). Plenty of room for whatever you love to do with friends or family.

Nice place but lifeguards are not really friendly. The pool is supposed to close at 8pm but they actually close the entire structure at that time including showers and changing room. So you might actually be kicked out with your swim wear

Bar restaurant and both indoor/outdoor pool. Gym is also adequately equipped. A cosy place with sofa seats in the lobby. The restaurant serves good pizza and the coffee at bar is awesome.

One of the worst experiences I have ever encountered. I arrived around 12 o'clock on Sunday with my boyfriend. Right at the entrance, the staff were very arrogant and were not giving the proper information (for instance I am a student, therefore should have been given the student discount, the staff was annoyed when I asked about it). We payed 25 euroes (with a student discount!) for 2 tickets which were supposed to also include 2 sunbeds, and on top of that we payed another 3 euroes for a parasol. The outside area includes only 2 small pools which were fully packed and it was impossible to even put a little finger in the pool (read: overselling of tickets). Furthermore, there were no sunbeds available as some people took even 5 for themselves. As a cherry on top, there was not even the space available to put our parasol. At that point, we decided to leave as we have clearly seen that there is no space. Thus, we asked for a refund. Yet again, the staff was annoyed that we even asked them something and just refused the refund. They did though offer to find us a spot. The girl who accompanied us brought us literally on the soil and told us we could put our towels there. THERE WAS NO GRASS THERE, it was dirty and I think it was not even the area included in the actual complex. At that point, we could not even believe that the whole thing was happening, and we asked whether we could at least go in the inside pools so that we can swim. For the inside pools, not only did they make us pay another 4 euroes for the swim caps, but also 4 euroes for the locker. When I asked if I can at least bring a book with me so that I can read in between swimming, the staff said that it is forbidden to take anything with you near the pools, only one towel. No one showed any empathy and we were not even offered any discount when we complained. Never coming back.

Beautiful classic theatre, really intresting for tourister and for pavia citadines. The program present Opera, theatre rappresentation and concerts.

Wonderful old and classic theatre in the inner city of Pavia. Not easy to get in because it is only opened two times a month for visit. Otherwise only visitable when listening to performances.

The first time i entered in such a theatre. Loved it 😍

Amazing nature, ducks, turtles, small lake, but unfortunately not good enough play ground for children.

The park is very nice and very large, so you can get quite a long hike. If you walk north up the center you’ll follow a stream that meanders in the extreme! A lot of picnic tables along the way but many of them are broken.

Very big and very beautiful park

Very big wild kind of park. Open air monkey bar for pullups. Stream and a water resevior near highway. Good for long walks/ running only during the day. No lights in the evening. Child play area on one side which is decently equipped.

This park in Pavia is really big, walking one round in thus park we can achieved our daily goal of 10k steps. It’s generally quiet and tranquil.

Looks very natural, but people walk their dogs which is forbidden inside the park. Very good for families especially with kids. Good place for a picnic lunch.

Park is good for Joggers and exercises. There is a small kid park where children can have a lot of fun.

Perfect location and lots of beverage options! A few pages only for different kinds of beer and a lot of cocktail alternatives. Moreover, stuff also talks in English. Fast and kind service. Inside of the bar is antique, very beautiful atmosphere indeed.

Nothing Irish about this pub. Absolutely no connection to Ireland. Very basic and totally Italian. Not sure why they call it an Irish pub. No Irish drinks bar Guinness which was not poured correctly and tasted nothing like the Guinness at home. Toilets are like something from the dark ages. As an Irish person. I really want people to understand that a pub like this would be closed if it was in Ireland

It is an excellent place to spend time with friends, and it's really cheap. We paid 12€ for two beers and they come with some snacks.

Service seemed a bit overwhelmed.

After having real taste of Guinness. The Guinness beer I found here is the worst of my life. It was like water instead of real Guinness. I would not recommend this pub to real Guinness lovers

The staff was really kind and their English was very good. You also get very good snacks with beer. Would definetely visit again.
