Nice spot, where the Mosel and the Rhine rivers meet. The Kaiser Wilhelm Monument is also impressive! It was rather quiet today since it was windy and cold, but it’s a popular place and I believe some river cruises, like Viking, come here. Check it out 👍🏻

Beautiful view of Mosel river where it joins with the Rhine river. The statue of William I is huge, who is the first German emperor. It was restored after 1945. There is much history associated with this particular location. This location is popular tourist attractions. There are many fortress near by this moment. Ehrenbreitstein Fortress view from this is splendid. The wind blows here heavy always. The city view on the bank of rivers is worth watching. It takes around 20-25 minutes to reach the Koblenz train station by walk. There are many restaurants near city centre while walking from this Deutsches Eck. One can take the boat raids which are worthy.

Such an historical place with rich history. If one enjoys long walks, one can walk along the riverside and reach Deutsches Eck, without any problem. Absolutely magnificent memorial of the Kaiser.

It was the best place to walk around in Koblenz. historical place. Lots of cafe on the left side and Altstadt on the right side. Also not so far from the Koblenz hbf. 30 mins walk through the old city. It was amazing.

We were on a Viking River boat, great way to travel! The Herja was beautiful, food, wine and beers excellent. Too bad I missed a lot of the tours and all of Paris, due to flight delays, luggage lost and sick from the cold A/C - 2 day and nights at JFK Airport. None of this was Vikings fault. They are excellent in Service, Employees and ships.

I came from Bonn because it was close and it worth it. This place was really beautiful and important there is where rhein and moselle river meet. there was a beer festival next to it, it was amazing and so fun this place is must-to-visit. Koblenz is Perfect

The history of this location is interesting and at the same time sad that the original was destroyed in 1945. The 1993 replica seems just as awe inspiring and fantastically weathered.

This is a unique place to "immerse" in the confluence of the Mosel River and the Rhine. In addition, there is a memorial to the Berlin Wall nearby and a Cross of the German Order on the wall of a corner tower. History buffs will love it...

Very rich history. A massive structure. Magnificent overlook of the confluence of the Moselle and the Rhine. A shirt but fun funicular crosses the river. The building themselves are not elaborate or detailed like some cathedrals etc..

Very cool to see the advanced tactics and fortification built to be impenetrable for the time. Had a great guide to show us through. The Vista at the top of the fortress was amazing. You could see for miles.

You could spend EASILY 3-4 hours here and feel like you haven't seen everything or taken in the views. This place is HUGE. Go down every tunnel or stairs you find that is not closed off and you will discover something totally new. Take a map or keep track of where you have been on Google. Bathrooms in the middle were clean and stocked. No food was there in Feb. Gift shop was cute and the lady working the counter was VERY kind to us. Spoke English well.

This is a must visit place in Koblenz. There are many ways to get here. The easiest way is to take a cable car from Deutsches eck. The cable car and fortress ticket cost around eur 17 altogether. You can also go there by car. There are hiking paths as well if you like to explore by walk. The view from top is breathtaking. You can see the two rivers merging and also the full bird view of Koblenz city. The fortress is very big from inside and lots of places to explore. Audio guides are available to learn about the history of the fortress.

Massive and beautiful fortress. Very easy to reach using the cable car. It houses exhibitions which are a treat. There is a cafe too and the fortress offers fantastic views of the rivers and the city.

Castle/Fortress is impressed 👏🏻 It was pretty nice and giving ideas abiymut how the fortress was in that century and how law enforcement staff was working and which conditions were waiting for outlaws. It was a very nice experience visiting the fortress. Lots of rooms, exhibitions, and paths on the territory. You can walk the whole day and every time you can find new corners. And of course, the views are wonderful!

A beautiful castle. It is easy to get from one bank to the other with the cable car. There are also many facilities. I really liked the medieval landscape.

An interesting place, lots to see and plenty of room for children to run and play. It has a bar and restaurant and clean toilets.

Quite big fortress with lots to explore. They have several pieces of the fortress' history on display and some rooms equipped with furniture showing how they used to live there. You can easily spend a few hours here just walking around and exploring all the big and small paths around and through the fortress. There's also a cafe at the top with the best view looking over Koblenz and moderate prices. The fortress is accessible by foot but you'll have to bring some time. The easiest way is to use the cable car while also enjoying the view across the river(s).

We went there on a public holiday using the Seilbahn. The view was awesome from the sky. So I totally recommend taking the Seilbahn, especially since it’s relatively fast. The fortress has so much charm but it’s huge. Thus, some nice walking shoes would be suitable. If it rains, buy a rain cover at the ticket shop. Make sure to visit wine tasting area. They have a good variety. Also, don’t miss a chance to try on the ancient Roman costumes and jewellery. Finally, spend some time at the Gesten expo. You will enjoy the interaction with the selected games and technology. It was a great experience.

The castle is a fantastic experience in itself, taking us back to the old Prussian times. There are sound effects from that time at numerous places along the walkway. I reached the fortress via the cable car, which, though was a good experience appeared a bit costly. Some of the rooms inside the castle contains info from the old times and overall it is a great way to spend about an hour. Most people however were focussed on the view point from where you can see the Mosel river flowing in to the Rhine.

Most interesting thing to do during your visit to Koblenz. Cable car connecting the city side next to Deutsche Eck to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The ride is worth it for the spectacular panoramic view of the of the city down as well as that of the mighty Rhien in both the directions which is always busy with the boats and ferries running up and down. It is recommended to have the combined ticket with Ehrenbreitstein Fortress entrance.

Everyone should try this Cable Car if you visit Koblenz - Germany. You can see such a beautiful views and it’s wonderful. This Cable Car is safety and the price is worth it. When you already in the hill, you can enjoy first the place above or walk around for couple of minutes/ hours before you going back down.

Runs at weekends during off peak times, which are October to early April. We paid EUR31 for a family ticket which is up to 2 adults and 4 children. This included admission to the fortress at the top. Be warned that there's lots of walking if you want to see everything and maybe not so great for under 5s. The playground at the top worked well for us.

Definitely worth the full price when visiting Koblenz. I’m not sure why some of the reviews complain about the high prices when it’s about the cost of a movie and you can literally spend all day at the fortress.

The best place to visit in Rheinland-Pfalz.

The castle has been perfectly preserved and is maintained to a very high standard.The regional government invested heavily in its restoration in recent years and the rooms and garden are immaculate. It is a pretty stiff walk up the hill from the main car park and would be difficult for someone with mobility problems.The rooms are laid out over several floors which are accessed by stairs. There are no refreshments except from a vending machine and nothing close by in the village. The views from the outside walls of the surrounding area are stunning and give a real idea of the strategic position of the castle. It was highly recommended by German friends and is well worth visiting if in the area.

Kind of disappointing experience… All of the other reviews gave me really high expectations for this castle in particular. Was a let down. Had to wait 40 minutes before we could enter, arrived 6 minutes late on our time slot, so we could only view the castle for 14 minutes, all the while a guard was breathing down our neck making sure we left precisely after those 14 minutes had passed. The castle is absolutely beautiful, but only very few rooms are open to the public. I understand why there are time slots, absolutely, but the way it is handle here is horrible, especially to other castles who orchestrated the system a whole lot better. Had as much time to explore as we wanted, and still kept to all the COVID-19 restrictions. Again, the castle and its garden are breathtaking. There are some beautiful interior pieces, but you have 30 seconds to look at them. It’s only €5 for a ticket, so it’s worth it if you are aware that you have a very limited time to view the castle and really have to make a reservation! Also don’t forget to validate your parking ticket… We totally did (that’s our bad…)

What a beautiful experience! Wear comfy shoes as there’s a bit of a hike to go up to the entrance. To enter the rooms, they provide shoe covers to protect the original floors. Public parking is at the bottom of the hill.

Went in May 2023. Great to see the castle, its gardens and views! So it was totally worth it! I don't have car, but it was easy to go from Koblenz to Stolzenfeld by bus (30/30min, a trip about 15min). The way from the streets to the castle is easy (they have pavement and stairs, with tracks as alternative), but I don't recommend for people with disability. But you can reach the castle by car. 5€ as entrance fee when I went. You can enter the castle,see its surroundings and views by yourself. You can't go into the rooms inside without a guide. When inside, you can't take pictures, and have to use the huge slippers they give to you. What I didn't liked was the staff. The reception just gave me a panmphlet and said "go fast, the tour is starting", without explaining anything. I reached a group with a guide already explaining everything only in German. So I didn't know how anything worked (if I could walk without him, if it had english tours). In the middle of the inside tour I asked the guide about english tour, but he affirmed in a unpolite way that they don't have and that's why I received the pamphlet. Only then I saw that I could find some numbers and follow the rooms to read reaally brief explanations, shorter than what the guide provides. In the end, really liked the castle, the gardens, the views and surroundings. Didn't like the tour inside the rooms, but still worth the visit!

Such a beautiful castle! Beware, you have to walk up a fairly steep unsteady long driveway to get to it. Be prepared for that hike. If you do decide to walk up, the views and history are breathtaking! Highly recommend!

Beautiful view, and the route is great almost 1.5 km walk slope is gentle and well maintained. If you want to go by car then it's great you can take car to the top and front of castle 🏰. This castle is renovated with beautiful infrastructure. They cost 5€ per person and they also tour (in German only)

Stolzenfels Castle— Originally fell into ruin over the years already, but Prussian Crown Prince Frederick William IV had the castle restored in a romantic, neo-Gothic style. This became a symbol of the Romantic Movement in Germany. From the castle, the Rhine River can also be seen. Parking closes by 5pm, so make sure to drive out before the time or your car is locked in. You can go uphill to the castle by walk or car. But car can only enter uphill on or before 4pm.

A very romantic castle definitely worth of 4 hours of your time. The parking house in the village on the other hand is so tiny only the best drivers will get in, park and get out. Give yourself a medal when you'll leave without a scratch;-).

The palace is located on a hill which means you need to hike all the way up. If you are into steep walking/hiking and do not want to click pictures in between then you can easily reach in 15 mins. However, if you don't hike usually and would also like to click some pictures along the way then it would take around 25 mins. The tickets to the castle are for 5 euros which can be paid either by cash or card. There the person is going to tell you to wait at the gallery for the guided tour as soon as you enter. Keep in mind that you are only able to access the interior of the castle with the guided tour as the guide has keys to the rooms otherwise the doors are locked and you can only explore the outer garden and balconies. Taking pics inside is not allowed and the tour takes around 20 to 25 mins. Do remember to ask for an English brochure at the entrance if you don't speak German so that you can read the description for the rooms in it while getting the tour. Also there are no eating options available next/inside the castle as it is situated in between a hiking trail.

After walking a windy road leading up the mountain, you reach this fairytale castle with a gorgeous view of the river. We explored the castle and thoroughly enjoyed it. What you see in the castle isn't ancient, but still very interesting. Parking garage is at the foot of the mountain and is easy to find and is at a reasonable price.

Simply the most amazing Schängel. If you are an aficionado or aficionada of enormous Schängel you shall not be disappointed by this remarkable Schängel specimen. Please don't take this review too seriously, and do not leave your luggage unattended.

Interesting statue to see when you’re in Koblenz. Sometimes a little bit overcrowded with tourists but if you wait a moment you can take good pictures.

A cute surprise- happened past- I was tempted by the boy’s perky face but instinctively stepped aside from the wet patch - as I snapped a photo- suddenly a spurt of water from his mouth- whoa ! We checked for a movement sensor but decided it’s probably timed. Very cute if you don’t expect it!

Tucked away in a courtyard, this is a very cute fountain. Watch out for the waterworks when then fountain sprays outside of the bowl zone!!

Designed by Carl Burger and dedicated to Koblenz poet Joseph Cornelius, the Schangel Fountain has the bronze statue of a boy spitting water, on a column with the portraits of Cornelius and Kraehmer, and the coat-of-arms of Koblenz. During the French rule in Koblenz in the 19th century, the name was used as a local variation of the French "Jean", a name for the occupiers from France and for the children, the "Schängelchen", who arose from the fraternization. The nickname remained and in 1914 Josef Cornelius wrote the Schängel song, which is still very popular today and which finally cemented the name. In 1941 the artist Carl Burger unveiled the Schängel Fountain, made of bronze and basalt, which since then has been spitting cheerfully on the town hall square. The Mayen boy Rudolf Dany served as the model.

So very busy, but magically Christmas. Clean toilet facilities available. 50 cents to use. Easy to read signage. The stall holders for the Advent markets are friendly and most are able to speak English.

Nothing like an interactive experience with a fountain. Even better if you get to see someone else get wet while pushing in to get a photo. Camera karma.

2022.4.28 The romanesque Basilika St. Kastor or Kastorkirche is a stone throw away from the KD pier, Deutsches Eck German Corner and the cable car up Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. It's the oldest church in town, dedicated in 836, with the support of king / emperor Louis the Pious (778-840). The Kastorbrunnen / Saint Castor's Fountain was built in 1812 during Napoleon's / French invasion of Russia.

The oldest standing church in Koblenz located very near to Deutsches Eck. So it is easy to get there and it is worth a visit. Peaceful and beautiful.

Really impressive outstanding artwork here. The column provides the information about the history of the city dating from Roman Empire till date. It is unique in itself. You should watch it closely. I was surprised with the way they have carved the happenings and the destructions of work war II.

Interesting bronze column which tells the history of Koblenz. For the winter, or the hot summer, some branches with shade would help to sit and enjoy the place.

Amazing museum, the best military museum I've seen. Packed full of examples of just about every military technology you could imagine. Very large warehouse with the large items...tanks, planes, helicopters etc...and 4 more floors above for the smaller items...must see for any enthusiast.

Hands down this is the best military (and weapons platforms) museum I have ever visited. My teenage son and I came upon this place accidentally as we were traveling in the area. But this place should be a target destination for all interested in warfare and its technologies. You could charge $50 a head in Texas for this three Euro fee in Germany. This museum is big and densely filled, with something for everyone — for your wife, who dreams of being surrounded by hundreds (over 150 years) of Gatling and massive mini-guns; for your little ones, who have always wanted to understand and touch real high explosive anti-tank rounds and shaped charges; for your eldest daughter, who wants to get up close and personal with a Focker VSTOL, HIND F attack helicopters, and cruise missiles; and for you, a floor of sniper and machine guns throughout history. But I love this place for its inclusion of a two-man U-boat, liquid rocket and numerous gas-turbine jet engines, and real RADAR and other ISR platforms. Wow!!

A large collection of military equipment and weapons, a huge number of truly unique exhibits, the museum occupies a total of 5 floors and one large hangar, the entrance fee is nominal, it was very interesting to explore, many things really surprised me, in general only positive impressions.

I visited from the USA on June 30. It was great timing considering they had only been open for two weeks after being closed for years. The entry fee is very reasonable (3 Euro). The collection of large equipment (tanks, vehicles, helicopters, planes), weaponry (handguns, rifles, heavy artillery), communications equipment, uniforms among other is something to behold. My friend and I spent 5 hours there during our visit. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend visiting.

THERE IS PARKING! Awesome place for people who love military themed museums. Probably one of the best of the many I've visited. Costs 3€ / person regardless of age. Make sure you go upstairs to see more uniforms and weapons. Every level has places to rest and sit at, friendly for older/younger people.

Visited yesterday with my son. I expected with such a low entry fee to be in and out within an hour. We arrived just after it opened and finally left for a very late lunch There is a lot of exhibits here! My son was in his own personal heaven and even I enjoyed it despite very little interest in the subject. My only (very small) criticism would be a couple of info plaques were either positioned behind other exhibits so it involved a bit of contortionism to read and often it wasn't entirely clear which exhibit a plaque belonged to (though this is probably down to me not being a native German speaker). I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit but make sure you have the 3 euro entrance fee in coins.

VERY BEAUTIFUL. On the outside you have a castle park which has a walking track, beautiful view of castle for photoshoots and also includes a playground portion for kids which has many options for kids to play. Then you pass through the interior of the Schloss and go to the back which opens into a beautiful garden, a monument to take pictures with and you can go down via stairs to walk along the Rhine and enjoy the view of the water and the other side of Rhine. Cool place to chill, take pics and enjoy.

It's definitely majestic place to visit, with vast gardens on both sides of the building. Unfortunately when I came, there was nothing much to see other than the outer part and the gardens.

This restaurant was recommended by one of my coworkers as a great destination for good food and a perfect view of the Rhein. The view is lovely as you would expect, however the place smells of burnt cooking oil due to the insufficient ventilation (like most old restaurants in Germany). The seating upstairs is fine (tables for 6-8) however be prepared to sit next to someone else in case the restaurant gets crowded. This was a "warning" before we were sat by our waitress. The presentation of the food is acceptable, but not on the fancy side. We ordered a salmon and a burger. The salmon was fine, while the accompanying vegetables were not prepared well. The potatoes tasted like premade ones from the shop and not like proper gourmet food. The burger was unfortunately not edible. The meat had a foul taste, and after 2 bites, the urge to vomit was very present. The waitress asked if she could replace it with something else, but we declined as the there was no more appetite. We did not eat anything else and paid the full bill (~60€) The upsetting of the stomach continued until the evening. On the plus side, the staff is very friendly. Our experience was not on par with the recommendations. For this price category, one would expect a much better food experience.

We had a wonderful meal, from endless service and the view is amazing. Highly recommend as a lace to dine and enjoy an evening.

I like the chill music and the magnificent view of this place. A nice place to have a seating next to river and enjoy a beer or wine.

Very central location at the most touristy spot, but the food level managed to surprise me. The Flammkuchen was made with attention, the salads looked great. It was busy but the service was very attentive. Great place, much above the average

Hidden gem at the side of the river. Would never had thought that this was a restaurant if not for TripAdvisor and Google. Yay to the power of the internet. Had it not been for that, this gem would have gone undiscovered. First off, the seating area is above the kitchen and with full glass covering the place, it is bright and cozy place that allows for a stunning view of the river and the bank across. Secondly, going there before the lunch crowd was a plus as it allowed us the freedom to move around and take pictures as we liked. Drinks here were a bit more pricey as compared to the other places we've eaten at, but it is to be expected. The food portion tho looking small/little, was filling and tasty. Recommend this place for a romantic dinner or special occasion. Give this place a try if you want to just sit and admire the river in shaded comfort as boats go by.

Based on photos of the food we were expecting a fabulous dinner. It didn't turn out that way.... My wife had "sepia" (a kind of calamari) while I had mixed seafood over (I think) risotto. The view from the dining room is probably spectacular - IF you are there during daylight. At night however all you can see is an annoying reflection of your table top due to the inclined glass surrounding most of the dining area. Your experience here may be quite different than ours but I would advise against the sepia.

Very friendly people and an amazing view! Food was good and fresh. We had the rinderroulade and the lachsfilet. Flavours were on point! Definitely recommending this restaurant

It is so great to see how the historic architecture is preserved till this date. Among the modern buildings, the streets with such buildings transport you back to the old times.

Interesting place to visit

The museum was very small. It is interactive but not entertaining. Did not learn anything. The museum pieces that were present were of low qualitity and not convincing. In less than 20 minutes we seen it all and left with a dissatisfying feeling. It was just boring.

Great museum though a wee bit on the pricey side. Nevertheless very interesting with very friendly and helpful staff. Quite interesting.

The most amazing thing about this place is, you can get to know the history in English. Place is well organized. Recommended to spend some time in here.
