Cute little museum focusing on the history of fisheries in the area. It's quite small, but there's a fishing boat you can board and have a look around, and they have many fishing related items. Worth a stroll around if you're in the area.

A lovely little museum right by the sea. We were left to explore at our own pace, which took us about 20 mins as we had a small child with us. You can climb on a boat and see sea animal specimens and there’s lots of local history. There’s parking behind it which was vast, £2.20 for an hour or £4 for two hours. Great to sign the visitors book and see where other visitors where from! A small gift shop on the way out and friendly staff. I wouldn’t say it was worth a trip into hasting to visit but definitely great as something to do as part of a bigger day out!

An interesting collection of seafaring ephemera with a traditional fishing boat in the middle of the museum. A superb collection of photographs taken around the boats and people on the shores of Hastings from the early 1900s. Worth popping in to see them, alone.

We had been in Hastings to visit and decided to go in, mainly as it was free. Great decision. Managed by volunteers, it's a great history of fishing in the area. Really interesting and I was surprised to spend so long looking around. Make sure to watch the rescue video, a real example of community coming together. And amazed they had that boat inside!

Part of a group of attractions in Old Hastings, the Fisherman's Museum is dedicated to the fisherman of Hastings, depicting their life across the centuries. Outside the museum is a collection of fishing boats, a fisherman's cottage - made out of a boat cut in half - along with the reconstructed net huts used to dry the fishing nets. Situated near to where the modern day beach fishing fleet is launched, the museum is free to enter - although donations are welcome. Around the boat inside is accessible for visitors in wheelchairs, along with a wing added with models of ships and details about fishing. The centrepiece of the museum is a fishing boat named The Enterprise, with steps up onto the deck and viewing panels to see inside the fishing boat. This is not accessible for wheelchair users, and children must be accompanied by an adult. Although others have posted videos from inside the museum on Google Maps, there is a not on one of the walls stating that only personal photographs are permitted. Outside though, there is plenty of opportunities to video the fishing boats, shack and huts. There is a small gift shop inside the museum, but for refreshments there is a café beside the Hastings Aquarium and others in the area. Parking is the local car park at Rock-a Nore.

Great little museum, with lots of artefacts, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and free to enter. Accessible for pushchairs and wheelchair users. Some lovely little souvenirs are available to buy too. Definitely worth a visit

Lovely small museum on the lives (and deaths) of fishermen in the area. Hastings was an important fishing port back in the day, and this place offers a fascinating glimpse into its history, albeit often tragic. There are countless items to explore, most of them donated by local people over the years. Heart and centre of the exhibit is an original fishing boat, but there are numerous tools, memorabilia, newspaper articles and historical photos to see. Entry is free, you're welcome to take photos, please leave a small donation before your departure. When in Hastings, this place is a must. Hastings Contemporary (art gallery) and the Shipwreck Museum are close by, too.

Lovely museum to remember ways of living in the past on board ship. Well worth a visit as there is no entry fee but donation are welcome. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the items on show. The museum is in an old church with some of the stained glass windows still present. There is lots of exhibits especially the old ship in the centre of the room. This place is suitable for all ages

A very charming dock with many leisure options, lovely views. A good place to have a drink and watch the sunset, concerts or a good chat with friends.If you like to fish, many people do it from this pier. When we went we also found a small fair with attractions for children. At the end of the pier you can also see information about the pier and other types of things about everything that has to do with fauna, boats that are in the area. A must visit without a doubt

Best described as minimalist. Nice to look at but not much to do. Theres a cafe and a few little stalls/huts although opening times are a bit patchy. Lovely views across the beach and further west towards Eastbourne.

Great spacious pier with plenty of activity for kids and family along with plenty of seating. Great pit stop if your walking the seafront.

Not much to do on the actual pier itself but the cafe at the start is nice and clean and very welcoming.

Lovely peaceful place to watch the moon come up over the sea. There is a bar at the end of the pier, and you can also order a pizza direct to your table (freshly made on site). Worth visiting at sunset when you can sit and watch the sky change colour... beautiful!

A nice place to take photos of the sea, hang around, have a snack or coffee. In the summer with mild or no wind it's a good place to see the Sun down. There are concerts from time to time on the pier. Car parks aren't far away. The beach has nice sands and just couple of minutes walk. The city center and train station is aproximately 15 minutes walk. Along the sea side road you'll find shops, restaurants, take aways and grocery stores.

A nice wide pier with plenty of room and some seating at the bottom. Currently very empty with only a few rides at the entrance. There's an upper viewing area with glass that's quite nice and shielded from the wind. Great for taking photos from and you're able to see the " old " pier if you look over the end.. Dogs are currently allowed on the pier which is unusual. ( March 23 ).

So it is a very nice small Pier and you can enjoy it for sure, doesn't Matter if u r there with Ur GF or FAMILY. But to the Beach itself i hate (don't like it) cause it is with that small stones. So there is no sand but everyone is different but for sure to go in SUMMER or WINTER. PS: hear & feel the Noise of the Sea you will feel relaxed & calm

Nice place to visit but you are not allowed to smoke or bring outside food on the pier. Restaurants are overpriced so i guess you could sit on the bench while picking a place in the area to eat. Toilets were clean the last time visited. Not sure when the little huts are open.

By far the best outdoor venue in the South East! (Weather permitting) Had many visits over the summer, day and night. Atmosphere is brilliant, entertainment and live music has been fantastic! Mostly free events, affordable if not, family friendly, drink and food outlets, toilets, plenty of benches, the view is stunning - if you haven't been you absolutely should!

An hour or so self guided tour of Hastings caves. I feel it’s a little over priced for the hour but understand they have to cover overheads. Some really interesting facts and history of the caves/Hastings. A nice day out if you are to include other sightseeing trips in Hastings.

Located on the West Cliffs of Hastings Old Town is the Smugglers Adventure, set inside St Clements's Caves - not far from Hastings Castle. Access is via steps and a narrow foot path, so is not accessible = as is the caves for those in a wheelchair. Push chairs are also not allowed in the caves but there is a push chair parking. Some of the passageways are dark and steep. The can also be damp in places. - nearly slipped on a metal plate descending down the entrance passage way. Also there are some very low ceilings and passage ways. There are plenty of items on display abut the history of the caves and smuggling in the area. There are also mannequins in various poses and an interactive display. Some of the displays can scare the unexpected such as a prisoner rattling the bars of his cage and the skeleton of the unfortunate Hairy Jack rising from the grave. There is a small gift shop in the caves but it didn't seem to well stocked on my visit. The tour of the caves is also self guided. To get up to the site from the old town there are two options. One is walking up the various pathways, the other is via the West Cliff lift. There is some parking on the roads nearby, but this may be full during busy times. Otherwise parking is on the seafront and other local car parks.

This place was amazing. It just kept going and going. Lots of turning and hidden corners. Very interactive for children and lots of history to learn in a fun way. Took about an hour to go round and cost £44 I think.

Really fun attraction! It was much bigger that I thought, and packed full of information and mannequins and videos telling you all about smuggling. It takes a bit of time for your eyes to get used to the darkness, so use your phone torch if needed! Loved it!

It’s a very atmospheric place, a bit spooky in the beginning but nothing scary. Children loved it, but I’d personally love to see actors dressed as pirates and some interaction with them

It was a good experience. Some of the figures looked a bit old & tired but it was a big thumbs up from the teenagers that were with us.

Really confused by the number of positive reviews. £50 for a family of 2 adults and 3 children, only an hour of our time. Mild blood and violence, but suitable for most kids. One of our children hated the scary nature of it, so be warned if your kids are sensitive. Some displays had broken buttons. Seemed pretty old and outdated on the whole. Kids didn’t understand what smuggling was even with the attempts to teach in videos. Most interesting part of the visit was seeing how they hid items. The cave has some interesting carvings. Otherwise lacklustre compared to others. Toilets in the middle of the cave was nice. Wish we had spent our money and hour elsewhere.

We visited here as part of the 3 attraction purchase. It was different, and worth a one off visit. We learnt a little about smugglers and life back then, which was interesting. It was bigger than we expected. We took our 5 children here, ages ranging from 4-9. They enjoyed the interactive parts.

Great adventure, coupling some history with the underground caving experience. It details the practice of the smuggling gangs from a few centuries ago. It’s a little spooky, so beware. 👻 I found it really informative. Some of the interactions were not working. 😢

Interesting cave complex that you can explore to learn about the history of smuggling in Hastings. There are some low ceiling and dark areas - so it helps if you have a torch/phone. You can save money by buying a 3 in one ticket for the aquarium, Smugglers Adventure and Hastings Castle.

Visited today with my family, haven't been since I was a kid. Hasn't changed that much. Kids loved walking around the caves. The tour guide Hairy Jack the smuggler 😂 definitely brought the place alive, kids loved learning about the caves past and the interaction activities. Really only spend about just over an hour there not too long. Gift shop did look abit sorry for it self. Staff member was brilliant tho sorting out the kids photos into keyrings. Worth a visit they even take carers and those with disabilities into consideration.

We visited here with our two boys. We weren't too sure what to expect. There was no waiting time, we could go straight in which was great. The tour is interesting and with plenty of interactive things to do and see. I thought there would be a bit more human interaction with actors but it consists of videos and screens as you walk throughout. It was very quiet and there was only one other family. Although my kids were a bit scared, I enjoyed this tour and it is worth seeing. We paid £37 for a family ticket which I feel was a bit overpriced but it was a nice experience.

Fun cave system with enough interaction for all ages to enjoy. The choice to allow people to explore at their own pace (assuming opposed to being guided on a tour) is excellent as you spend the time you want on the parts that interest you. Highly recommended for all ages.

A very interesting place where you can learn a lot about its history. The tour is enhanced by several mannequins and little games. I really enjoyed it :). Unfortunately, I forgot my bag there and went back to Germany, where I live. The very friendly staff proposed to send it back to me, so I received it and they even paid the postage. Was in Hastings for the day and visited smugglers adventure have been before about 5 years ago its still the same it's a nice look around you will need an hour or more especially If you want to read everything that's in there. We had 4 kids with us aged 12, 11, 5 & 3 they all seemed to enjoy it.

Great time had by the adults and kids. Don't rush it though, take your time to fully experience it

We had a good time, it was quite interesting, but I expected a little more. It only took is abut half hour to walk round. We read everything and watched the information videos too. Definitely worth a visit as it was very interesting 😊

Probably the most beautiful park in East Sussex, England, Alexandra Park boasts of 44 hectares of land in the heart of Hastings. It is a very popular attraction for family picnics, exercises, outdoor activities, dog walks to name a few. I always go here to unwind and enjoy nature especially when the birds starts to roost in their nests and listen to their beautiful songs as well as I enjoy the many types of trees, plants, shrubs and its amazing nature landscapes. Amenities are good with free public toilets, outdoor activities like their Multi-use Games Area and restaurants along the stretch of the park which is maintained all throughout the year. There are bicycle lanes, tennis courts, a football/basketball pitch, children’s playground, ponds, and a fishing spot too. Dog walkers are advised to put lead on certain areas of the park. Car parking around the park is mostly free and accessible but can also be challenging especially when the weather is sunny and bright as people flock to the park to enjoy it. Highly recommended.

This fabulous park has a huge variety of trees, lovely ponds and streams and some ancient woodland. Well worth a visit!!

A wonderful huge park I walked the dog from the bottom starting at the war memorial to top reservoir. Many beautiful trees and shrubs there is a mini train for children to ride on, a play centre, all which were busy, nice cafe in the middle to get refreshments if required. And the pump house top end near reservoir for a tasty stop. Great walk..

Nice place to walk. Large field areas for kicking a ball about or having a picnic. Play park with mainly climbing frames. Cafe. Toilet blocks.

It's a lovely place for a walk, plenty to see in the many little ponds and birds to feed. There's a small cafe but it wasn't open when we visited. The play park is really good but not suitable for really small kids. There is a swing for less able kids, but nothing for babies. Planty ofnspace for kids to run about and lots of places for picnics. You could spend the day here and not feel you've wasted the day.

This place has little play parks, ponds, lots of greenery. It's a great escape and close to town. The park is well looked after and maintained. There are lots of wild birds, squirrels and foxes calling this park home and it's lovely to see. Great place to walk your dog, with other friendly park users. As well as lovely cafes and many events happening.

Love my lovely local park 🫶 very blessed to live by here, perfect for an evening or day stroll with yourself/partner or fur pup (dogs on lead up until 6pm) lovely cafe midway with lovely staff members and amazing food! I had the loaded vegan fries and they were delicious 💚

It is a very well known park in Hastings which I visited 3 week ago with my family. The park is 5-8 minutes drive from the town centre. With the assistance from Google map, I found the park very easily but couldn't park near the entrance. I was directed to the far end of the park where I parked my car and entered into the park. The open space and natural beauty of this park is unquestionable and we spent a great evening by walking through the park. Young people can play football here, adult can seat besides the small canal and the pond in the middle of the park. Children can also play at the playground and have fun. There are two café in the park but they are closed due to Covid-19. We also visited the war memorial inside the park which is situated near the main entrance. When we were checking the main entrance, we found that there are few parking spaces opposite of the main entrance. Overall, we enjoyed our visit here and recommend it for others.

Visited for my daughters 3rd birthday. She absolutely loved it. Her favourite part was the tunnel and being "under the water" I love how you can take your own green screen photos too which added to the experience. Not expensive either & we had the place to ourselves because it was so quiet. Brilliant time.

A brilliant aquarium with great variety of sea creatures and reptiles. It’s a lovely, small aquarium which is well maintained, clean and easy to explore, great for children. We especially loved the little blue cushion starfish - absolutely adorable! The staff were warm and friendly. We visited the aquarium during our staycation in Rye, and it was definitely worth visiting!

We love it here ! Our second time here today, we drive over 1hr and 30 minutes but we think it's worth it. My little boy is only 8 months so it's a huge sensory experience for him ! yes it is small, however we do one trip round sit in the lovely cafe for a coffee and a feed and then walk back round ! Personally better than the bigger other seaside aquariums.... Very clean changing facilities and the staff are very very polite ! Also super close to parking which is a bonus with a little one ! Perfect "rainy day" day out.

Loved it. Medium sized aquarium but plenty of fish & beautiful small sharks. Also has reptiles, lizards, tarantula, turtles, snakes & more. My 2 year old absolutely loved it. You just book online & visit when ready no need to book a specific date u just turn up on the day u want, your tickets are valid for 6 months & u can visit all day, so u can go out to explore & have lunch then go back again as many times as u want. They also have 2 feeding sessions a day so u get to see them eat. All staff are super friendly, welcoming & helpful, phoned before hand for information too & the man I spoke to gave me loads of information & was so polite & friendly & didn't rush me of the phone like some businesses do, it made me want to go even more after speaking to him. Toilets are clean 🚻 (Inc disabled toilets & baby changing) gift shop is a little pricey but some nice stuff. Go u won't regret it. Prices are very fair too.

We visited the aquarium while on holiday, and so glad we did! Lovely little aquarium, the sting rays seemed to want to get up close and personal. We all loved the shark tunnel 🦈 We took our 8 month old twins and they seemed to really enjoy themselves. Baby changing toilets were large enough to fit a double pram in, which is great! All very clean and tidy. The café attached was nice too.

It was okay.. was looking forward to coming and drove a long way, was surprised to be in and out within half an hour.. I think prices should be lowered.. didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. This being said, my toddler loved it!

Great fun and educational especially for younger children but also for adults. All the fish and other animals look very well cared for. There's something for everyone but for me the highligh had to be the Octopus. I didn't see him till my 4th visit but it was so worth waiting. 🐙 I got a great photo of him which I have attached. There are steps down and up from the huge perspex pipe that you can walk through and see the fish all around you. This makes it difficult if you have a pushchair and impossible if you are a wheelchair user. I would have thought they could have designed it with ramps rather than steep steps but then I am not an architect so perhaps they couldn't. But that aside if you are able to walk through it then it is fantastic. I would suggest getting an annual pass as it's good value and if you have young kids then you'll be back again. Also it gives you entrance to Hastings Castle and the caves which I think they call smugglers adventure nowadays. The aquarium is not huge so during school holidays it can get very busy so my advice would be visit out if season if possible. Well worth a visit. I can easily spend 45 minutes in there looking around.

It's a nice place and could be seen in 20 minutes. As I have been to other sea life aquariums, this one is very small, not informative or educational, has no sounds for entertainment and is not as exciting to see something new/ different. I don't feel the price was correct either. I wouldn't visit again, especially for that price. It was something different to do in Hastings.

Myself and little granddaughter got there early but still busy, but it is summer. She liked to see all the fish swimming about in the big tanks. We loved the tunnel with fish swimming above. We walked quite quickly round, you can take as long as you like. Then a nice cuppa next door.

It is a lovely aquarium that is located just by the seaside. You can park at the area (at a fee of course), finish the tour, and head to the beach if you want. Friendly staff, although part of the aquarium was under construction when we visited, we still enjoyed the tour. Also, there are lots of eateries nearby and other places to visit all within walking distance.

Really enjoyed our visit in April. There is a lot to see and do. Not to big, so perfect for little kids, they even have little stepping stools for them! Not really accessible with a stroller or wheelchair. Really nice visit and very well kept! Parking is very close and a walk to the old town is also really nice. There is also a small nice café.

Great day out with the kids. Not as much as it should have in the aquarium for the price, it's relatively small. It is fun tho and worth a trip at least once. You can also pet a snake in the reptile enclosure. There is a cafe and bathrooms as well in the building so ideal for ppl with kids or anyone who gets hungry lol.

Had a fantastic time with my partner. It wasn't very busy when we went on a Monday morning. We very much enjoyed all of the tanks and found the information around the aquarium very interesting. The reptile area was also pretty good. All of the fish and reptiles looked well cared for. The gift shop was small but a fairly decent price wise. Would absolutely recommend

Lots of interesting sea life to meet. Plenty of choices in the gift shop. Photo wall at the end where you can get a print, magnet or keychain. It doesn't take long to walk around so take your time and enjoy the different species. Brought tickets inside and paid cash.

Lovely little aquarium my 18 month loved it especially the windows into the big tanks, the tunnel and the bubble windows, it's not huge but makes for a lovely afternoon or morning and you can go round as many times as you like! Car park right next to it and little cafe and toilets in the building with a cute gift shop

I love coming here with the littleies, it takes about an hour to amble around but if you time the day right and come and go there is lots to take in, today we were stroking the python in the animal encounter. There are regular displays throughout the day though.

I went on a field trip here and the staff were great. I don't particularly like aquariums due to the issues with welfare but the bigger fish had a lot of room and overall it was a good experience. the loss of a star is simply due to the gift shop being far top overpriced, I understand if the toys are made locally but they were not.

Not too busy, nice to stroll through + ticket is valid for unlimited same day returns, they do talks and got to touch a snake so that's a nice bonus

Feels weird reviewing such an important piece of history somewhat negatively but honestly there hasn’t been much effort put into the tourism side of the castle. Information is fairly limited through a few signs dotted around. It’s an important part of English history so read up on it before you go and you’ll appreciate it more.

This is a must for anyone who is history passionate and wants to know a little bit more about the territory. The castle is small so you can visit in an hour or so and they also broadcast a video, which gives you some additional information about it. We enjoyed it!

If you ready to climb - it is your place plus it worth it because the view of the town is superb! But with small kids it can be challenging if you do not know right way to come! We came from up down and I saw you can use not so hard way but I did not get how. The tickets per person is 6.5 and for my point of view it is too much.

It is located on a hill. Making a spectacular view when gazing at the seashore. You have to walk quiet a distance from the nearest car park (at a fee). There was not a lot to see as the majority of the buildings were destroyed. Staff not welcoming appeared not to care. You still have to pay a lot to see virtually nothing, only to read erected images of what was thought to be the castle in those times.

Great place to visit for a seaside getaway in summer. It is located on the top of the hill with beautiful view of the sea and the surrounding countryside . I have visited Hastings twice this year; 42 days apart ;once with my partner and the other with my friends. It's a wonderful haven for those that love nature and love visiting historical ruins as these make me very happy. A picture worthy castle ruin.They also have their very own castle cat, Skye.. Also a good place for meditation

Well.... Its very expensive for what it is. Literally some broken bits of castle which take about 15 minutes to walk around, with kids too. Then watch a video about the history of the castle. We brought the 3 attraction purchase thing, the castle being the first and I'm glad as we would have paid £35 just to look around the castle. Prices need to be knocked down, then more people would probably enter. For the time we spent around the castle, we enjoyed it and I took some nice pictures. But it was very short lived and there isn't much else to do. Even the 3 attraction day out pass is expensive for what it is. Best one out of the 3 is the sea life center but even thats a bit run down. Seems like all 3 places are clutching at straws, hence the 3 attraction purchase "deal".

Hastings is great for the family and you can spend the whole day there. Very nice people down there and remember 1066 was taken place in Battle not Hastings. Great views, great beach and entertainment too

Fantastic historical site. Great views. BUT management needs to up its game in presenting this significant piece of history. Everything just seemed thrown together: no signage on how to get to the entrance from parking (head up the hill, turn right and then you'll see the 1st sign), unattractive info boards, unenthuasiatic staff at ticket kiosk and underwhelming presentations "theatre" that looked like a store room.

This is a ruined castle on a rocky crag high above Hastings. Built under the orders of William the Conquerer around 1070, so one of the oldest Norman structures in England. Sadly, 1/2 of the original castle has fallen into the sea & very little maintenance has been done. Excellent views of New & Old Town Hastings. Toilets but no cafe. The dungeon is cool. If you don't know the history, watch the 20-minute film. A must for history buffs.

Fantastic site, there's information boards on the hill you walk up. You don't need to pay to see the outside of the castle. Its quite high to climb and with narrow steps or you can walk up the cliff, amazing veiws. Would recommend

If you like a challenge walking up the hill to castle be prepared for a workout but at the top it's worth the stunning views of Hastings.. seen bits of castle but never paid to go in and see it think its 6.50 to go in..lovely walk down hill back into the town centre..

This is the ruins of the first castle the Normans built after the Battle of Hastings. You get a good view from here - one of the main reasons for putting the castle up here! You can save money by buying a 3 in one ticket for the aquarium, Smugglers Adventure and Hastings Castle.

Great place to come to, especially in summer! Located on the top of the hill with beautiful view on the sea. Going up the hill can be a bit difficult as it is quite steep. Castle is temporary closed. Will be open again in February 2022. There are public toilets just at the back of the cafe. Lots of little shops and places to eat too! Definitely will be back there again!

Fab little museum with knowledgeable people, and great activities. My daughter enjoyed the kids drawing area, learning how to tie different knots and learning how pulleys distribute weight. It's free to enter, but well worth making a donation.

A lovely museum with very knowledgeable and friendly volunteers. Took just around an hour to go through it but you could easily spend more or less time there, depending on how many bits you read. Disabled friendly but the gift shop at the entrance would be tight in a wheelchair. Definitely work a visit even with younger kids as it’s small enough to not lose their attention. Parking behind was vast, £2.20 for an hour or £4 for two hours. Great to sign the visitors book and see where other visitors where from! Thank you volunteers!

A fantastic museum filled with a lot of interesting nautical-related things, all clearly labelled with information explaining their context. Really worth a visit.

Very nice place, I've been there with our daughter and my wife. The museum it's self is amazing and there are a lot of things to look. There are some interesting activities for kids - which is amazing. The museum also has a shop with some locals postcards and Hasting photos. We have bought several. We definitely come back again. Highly recommend

Brilliant place lovely little GEM ,exceptionally informative place ,very interesting, so much to see and things for all ages to do ,honestly go there you won't be disappointed, it is free and runs off donations but you can see in how the items are displayed the volunteers are passionate and care for there museum ,I like that ,huge display on the grounds its like WOW ,HIGHLY RECOMMEND for all people of all ages

A very neat little museum with a treasure trove of artifacts and information. We were lucky enough to be there in time for a very nice talk on local prehistoric finds! It was very informative and actually even more two year old sat and listened for most of it!! So from our 2 year old to our 60something year old, our family enjoyed our visit very much. Will definitely go back.

Really wonderful little museum next to the aquarium. One of Hastings little gems. Lots of interesting items to look at and keep the kids amused as well as lots of little interactive bits to do around as you walk through. Lovely, knowledgeable staff who mostly seem to be volunteers, Best of all free entry but donations welcome but not pushy

This is a wonderful museum! A lovely man came to see us and took the time to show us around and gave us a lot of interesting information. He was great with our children and spoke to them about dinosaurs which they loved! An amazing but hidden museum worth a visit we will be back thank you :)

We loved it. Being a massive true crime enthusiast id been wanting to visit for years and finally got my chance. Exhibits were amazing with items i thought id never be privileged to see.

Went here for a 'ghost hunt' with some friends - which was truly, utterly awful! The museum itself is very small but with some interesting things inside. Probably wouldn't take more than 20 minutes to get round, if you read everything in detail!

What an fantastic and interesting place to visit, will definitely be going back with my Son's as they were at school.

Had a great morning out with family and our new puppy. The man at the till was extremely helpful and even recommended other dog friendly shops/venues in the area. He also gave a lot of information on the museum and seeing we had a puppy informed us there were no other dogs in the exhibition and our ticket was valid all day if we needed to take her outside. The exhibits in the museum were very interesting (if a little gruesome). One display tests memory of an evidence file. We spent the rest of the day testing each other on what objects were in it. Lots of fun over lunch.

Fabulous little museum for those interested in the weird and macabre. Set in caverns in the cliffs which adds to the creepy atmosphere! Well worth a visit and reasonably priced.

Wasn't sure at first but if you're into true crime its fascinating! My daughter studied psychology and loves this stuff. She's currently reading a book about Jack the Ripper by Steven Keogh (I also recommend!) About the difference between how murder investigations differ from then to now. With that in mind this was right up her street as interests go! My son loved it too! Like others have said it wasn't a very big museum and we were there for about 90 minutes. That said it was worth it.

Excellent theming, can do everything at your own pace and time. Lots to see and look at. It is small, with only a few rooms, but they are filled. For the price, a fun way to spend the hour!

We loved this little museum. It was really easy to find, and the number of exhibits on display was really impressive. It was gruesome and macabre, but with just enough little injections of humour to make sure you didn't feel completely overwhelmed. It was mentioned to my daughter in her Criminology course at school, and she's been keen to visit for a while. I'd highly recommend anyone visit it. However, I'm only giving it a three star review, because although it is advertised everywhere that the museum closes at 5pm, this is in fact untrue, and at 4.30 we were advised by the staff that it was now closed. There were no signs up as we walked past to say that it was closing early, nor was it mentioned to us when we were buying the tickets. We'd only arrived just before 4pm, as the website said to allow around an hour to look around, so by 4.30, we hadn't even seen half of the exhibits. It's really disappointing, especially as we were only on a short trip to Hastings, so returning for another visit isn't a feasible option.

Situated right near the sea front along the main road, this was very easy to locate. We walked right in, and bought our tickets at the till - there was no wait time and it was fairly quiet, but we did come quite late in the day! The shop had lots of very cool souvenirs and items for sale. The museum itself was brilliant. It’s dark, dripping water, eerie sound affects really adds to the experience. The exhibits themselves were very informative, and they even had some real artefacts from the crimes/events depicted, which was super creepy! All the attention to detail was so awesome - we particularly enjoyed playing with the luminol torch! There were a few interactive exhibits too, which were a lot of fun to try and figure out the answers. I’ve always been fascinated by crime, serial killers etc so this was an absolute must see for me and it was very cool!

Highly reccomend visit, I went with my partner and 10 year old daughter who also loved the museum. Full of horrors and history. Cheap for family 2 adults and 1 child £28 good location opposite the beach.

It was worth every penny and very interesting and you can interact with things and get involved well worth the travel to get there would highly recommend a visit.

Well kept country park with great coastal views, unspoilt nature and Exmoor ponies. Challenging but enjoyable walks down to Fairlight Glen and Ecclesbourne Glen - after heavy rain, the steep paths can be extremely muddy but the effort is rewarded with waterfalls and an exotic looking beach. Café and toilet facilities at The Bale House visitor centre. Plenty of paid parking (charges aren't too steep but machines don't give change). A great place to walk the dog (when it hasn't been too wet) and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. My favourite time to visit is on a clear day after a period of heavy rain in the winter months, when the waterfalls are in full flow. On winter evenings there are gorgeous sunsets looking west.

We walked along the Fairlight Glen and it was stunning, especially along the stream and waterfalls. There were plenty of wild garlic to pick too!

Staying in an Airbnb a stone throw away from entry into the Country park which was lucky. The country park has breathtaking views of the coast, a hidden beach and a view over the beach and town when you head to the West hill. Where you can get down the hill by the rail cart, however there are steps that can also get you down too.

Parking here gives you access to some great walks. There is also toilet facilities at the car park. Some of the local woods feel like you’ve gone back in time, almost like walking in Jurassic park in some areas. There is a beach not far from the car park but it’s quite a steep walk and I must warn that it is a nudist beach and if it was a bbq the sausages would outnumber the baps. Joking aside DO watch the sea and take note of the tide times as this beach is only accessible when the sea is on its way out. It comes in very quickly so do be careful as it is really inaccessible for any emergency help down there but with caution it’s safe and worth the visit for sure pebbles in areas, sandy in others and large areas covered in boulders so it really is an adventure down there possible fossils and many rock pools. Just do watch that tide. Could loose hours wondering around this local area such a tranquil place.

Beautiful place. I visited again yesterday for the first time in several years, having returned to Hastings for work, and it was glorious. The views and the sea air are good for the soul. There is ample parking and it's reasonably priced, and the are is big enough to never feel busy even when the car park is full.

The family and I had a lovely 4 km walk along the coast. The children loved seeing the cows and radar station. Interesting information displayed along the route too!

Horribly muddy that one of the most unpleasant hiking experience in my life. The view is okay, not great but no mood to see at all as I had to focus on getting my feet out of the mud.

Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve Carpark -Helipad is a medium sized carpark that people use to visit the vast 345 hectares nature park, here you can walk towards the nature beachfront about 30min to the coast. Car parking charges a bit pricey. Toilet facilities are free. There is also a picnic area just beside the carpark. Worthwhile to visit.

Good walking around here, wasn't too many people. May be cows in some parts so dog walkers beware.

Beautiful place. Forest on cliffs, little waterfall hidden inside. Easy access from car park. Just be prepared for climbing up and down hills and be careful when wet as it's quite slippery.

The views from the cliff edge are spectacular and worth the trip for that reason alone but a country park? I don't think so! It's a series of areas where you have to use google maps especially if you're not a local to navigate, there's no genuine pathways of note. Don't start from the designated car park either! Over time maybe there will some better linkage via maps and paths but its very much a work it out yourself area.

First of all it’s really easy to travel Hastings from London, I wasn’t expecting it’s gonna be this much amazing!! I was really surprised and amazed, it’s easy trekking, just have some snacks lots of water and enjoy it with green and blue.

We are new residents of Eastbourne and found the new building very clean, obviously as it's new, very welcoming and more importantly dog friendly! Beautiful historical surroundings and fantastic views of distant Dungeness and Camber, Rye & Winchelsea. Lovely coffees and toilets, lovely to notice the all access paths too. Come the new year we'll be getting the annual parking ticket. A great eco build, it should be featured on #BBCCOUNTRYFILE

Fairlight is one of our favourite places to visit with the dogs! There are so many different routes that you can take to give you a different walking experience each time. There are some breathtaking views And wild pony’s to encounter! It’s a firm favourite dog walk with all the family

This gallery is small but beautifully designed inside and out with lots of different spaces currently exhibiting 3 very different artists. It’s the kind of gallery where you pay because want to see the work so always check for what is on.

Polite staff, some local artists work & some well known like Quinten Blake. Obviously smaller than larger cities in 🇬🇧 but Hastings have always been creative. I’m 57 now &have lived here in our beautiful town all my life. Can’t remember how but locals can get in at a reduced rate 🌹

Beautiful gallery located by the sea with stunning floor to ceiling sea views from the cafe. Bright, open, modern space with exhibitions on 2 floors. Couple exhibitions running at the same time making it perfect for a half a day visit.

A fantastic little gallery in a beautiful setting. The staff and volunteers were all friendly and talkative, very knowledgeable and happy to talk about the exhibitions. The cafe upstairs was a nice surprise and they also have lockers so you don't have to carry your stuff around with you. Will definitely make the 3.5 hour trip down there again.

We happened across this on one of the 'fun' days by chance, we frequently visit Hastings but hadn't been in before. The fun day was certainly that! My two kiddies had a blast and do did I! We did ribbon dancing in a beautiful multicoloured rainbow installation, we made self portrait posters inspired by the artists work and also drew self portraits and hung them in a gallery. The gallery is smallish, but, it is full of high quality art an amazing gift shop and if you're lucky enough to be there for a fun day make sure you join in too with all the activities!

Attractive views from the cafe which was empty on a cold November lunchtime.. Pleasant staff. The soup was tasty but not a lot if it for the price. The flan looked nice and was similarly tasty, but with a rock hard base. My friend had a members card so didn't have to pay to go into the exhibitions which were OK.

Friendly staff. Helpful guides in each section. Even the paintings which I did not like were interesting. The restaurant was good with wonderful views of the cliff and the harbour arm.( I have the subject for a new painting).

Okay, smallish gallery of contemporary art on the Hastings seafront. The building is more impressive than the art therein, and you'd be hard-pressed to spend more than 1 hour exploring the small exhibitions. Had I known how little there is to see in advance, I would have spent my money on something else. That said, during my visit there was an interesting temporary exhibit on different perspectives on life and tourism on the sea, with (mostly early to mid 20th century) paintings, old ads and photographs. Well put together, unfortunately I could not take photos (I loathe that). About 40-50 minutes worth of one's time. The rest? Not much. There's an art studio where "art" is being created on the premises (totally forgettable), a nice café on the upper level, and a decent museum (book)shop. All in all, underwhelming. I've been to countless regional arts galleries all over the UK in recent years, this was one of the most disappointing experiences.

A valuable community asset, if perhaps sometimes primarily for its cafe, whose balcony gives an overview of the working beach and, when we visited, the Green Man newly-goth-steampunk morris dancing. The art then on offer was of limited interest: spadefuls of gloomy oil paint, asymmetrical portaits etc. Another time, greater lively uplift, I hope!

Such a lovely space - the cafe has amazing views and there was even a chance to sketch in the Quentin Blake exhibition.

The guys here are great, helpful and friendly. It's a lovely little train ride. If ur visiting the old town no matter how old, u have to give it a go.

Very friendly little steam railway, giving a little ride along the sea front. Highly recommended as it gets you from the car park to the town area quite easily. Get the all day rover ticket to save money for the return trips!

Great little family run attraction for everyone. Single ticket for £2 or £3 return. It takes you to the amusement park. Lovely ride for the whole family through the fishing village of Hastings. Close to major car parks and other attractions. Different types or trains operating quite frequently. No card payment is accepted (did not expected) so make sure you have some cash. I would definitely recommend this for anyone.

Lovely experience for the small ones. Don't be like me, buy the whole day ticket for £6 and the childrens will be happy whole day. Please prepare for cash, as card not accepted.

Nice little museum with lots of hands-on exhibits, local history and art. I really enjoyed wandering around and learning all about Hastings and surrounding areas, with so many interesting artifacts. There's also a small art gallery and some natural history. Really well curated, though I did get a bit lost upstairs as the rooms weren't well marked.

An interesting small museum with interesting information on local history. Various artifacts and pictures. Small gift shop attached. A little of the beaten track, but there is a bus that goes from the Stade in the Old town to Bohemia Street where it is located.

What an amazing place filled with out of the ordinary things to see and do for all the family. Friendly staff welcome you into another world and as you walk around enjoying the various seasonal exhibitions on show. The very building itself is alive with curves, beautiful stone work and the most remarkable carved wood I've seen anywhere. I've lived a few roads away from the museum for years and just never ventured inside until recently to see an art installation and performance by Orryelle and Melissa and I've been back a few times already and enjoy every bit of it.

A cracking regional museum composed of culturally relevant artifacts plus legacy gifts from private collections of local historic luminaries. Not just for a rainy afternoon.

A fantastic free admission venue steeped in fascinating history and exhibits. The Durbar Room is simply amazing, a room transferred piece by piece from India and reconstructed here within the Museum and Art Gallery. An amazing venue for weddings and special events all encased within a very picturesque building contained within well kept grounds. Great selection of merchandise and wonderfully professional and friendly staff. A real architectural gem combining traditional and modern structures into one building. We'll worth a visit.

The design of this museum is great. Lots of space. Child friendly. Wonderfully interesting contents. Great for adults too. My only criticism would be that the notes next to the exhibits is too small. Which was frustrating for me. Maybe though there is a guide. I will definitely revisit. Photos taken by my 4 1/2 year old grand daughter. Thankyou Hastings Musuem.

It has a lot of artefacts on display and rich history to tell. Staff were friendly, self toured, and a great place to take the kids. It's not really wheelchair accessible as there's quite a number of stairs to climb and descend when going around the whole place. Mythomania was on display, and I saw one that looked like optimus prime. Loved it.

We come here at least once a month. Our 5 year old now always loved this museum and we hope the love with stay with her forever. There's a few places for kids imagination to run wild and I think that's what captured her the most and us too.

Hastings Museum is a great place to take children of any age, my granddaughter is only just 3 and she enjoys an afternoon there. The rooms of local history is displayed well. She likes the animals section and an area upstairs full of pottery, only because there is a table laid out with a little tea service ready for the "Tiger that came to tea". I like the section dedicated to local man known as "Gray Owl". The exhibition room changes frequently, I like to see the new exhibition items. It's a free museum, so go and there is a nice little shop, nice greetings cards.

Had a great night, listening to Country music, though the white rock wasn't packed, that didn't deter the performers! They knew how to belt out a tune! So good!

Fantastic venue-easy to get to ,15min walk from the train station and along sea front and you're there-a very relaxed atmosphere welcomes you with polite staff who are very helpful,The White rock theatre hosts a bar downstairs where you can get a variety of drinks (not a massive selection,but varied to say the least)-the Auditorium is spacious with plenty of leg room in the seats,a bit dated but sound quality is very good indeed!- We went to see UK Pink floyd Experience and we weren't disappointed and will be booking our next visit soon!- I would recommend The White rock theatre ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely stunning venue for a fight night. HKA Fight Night 13 was the biggest one to date. 21 fights on the card, warriors from around the world coming over the compete, including- Scotland, Ireland, Portugal, France and USA.

Well positioned on the sea front and only a few minutes walk away from hotels, bars and restaurants. About a 20 minute walk from the station and on ample bus routes. Great venue for gigs with decent sound and sight lines from our position on the floor (stalls). Plenty of bars serving drinks and snacks that on our visit were very busy but managed the situation with good humour and effort.

Great theatre plenty of parking options with a few different cafe and bars inside. A bit pricey for drinks but staff super friendly and helpful. Will keep an eye out on other events and as a 6ft + chap I may ask for help with leg room seats but a great night out and bet the 1st floor cafe/bar has great views in the summer right opposite the pier

I love the white rock theatre, always friendly helpful staff .. clean toilets and an amazing atmosphere during shows . The inside of the foyer looks amazing with what looks like original features from when it was built. It's located on Hastings seafront right opposite the pier, parking can be a bit difficult but try the roads behind the theatre as there's some free parking dotted around up there.

Great theatre with some excellent productions. Staff are always friendly, helpful, supportive, polite and professional. A clean tidy and well presented theatre. Well worth visiting.

Always something to see or do. Leg room a little restrictive, so if you're tall, an isle seat is advised.

First time visiting the White Rock Theatre. We saw Cirque the greatest. Brilliant show. Well worth an evening out, the performers are brilliant. The theatre itself is great, staff are very friendly and helpful. Drinks are value for money. The seating it's well, space, and you are not squashed in like sardines.

Good experience, quick drink despite large number of people. Good seats, a clear view from the balcony. Only one downside of luck of toilets, there was a very long queue.

Saw the amazing Circus of Horrors, a word of warning, if you're in the upper circle, and the tickets say limited leg rooom, leg room is very very limited! If you're over 5' 6"or so you may well find it quite cramped

The Brass, Silent Disco. So different and fun. The staff at The White Rock Theatre are so friendly and welcoming, great place to go, such a variety of events. Highly recommend. 2nd visit:- Burlesque show, with a magic touch Fab-u-lous!! Don't miss it, great for women (we come first! 😁) and/couples, men.. All welcome. It's just great 👍

Saw Shalamar and Jacqui Graham here yesterday. Good atmosphere, drinks served in proper glasses, not plastic cups and seemed happy for people to take photos or film on their phones.

The staff were exemplary in their handling of events and showed great empathy and concern. Thank you so very much.

Lovely building, friendly and helpful staff. But if you're over 5' 2" you are in for a very uncomfortable time. The seating has very little leg room and after a couple of hours, if you haven't had pain in your back, hips or knees, you will now. What was meant to be an enjoyable night out with friends ended in taking pain killers to sleep. Sorry 1066 seats sounds romantic but comfort surely matters more? Sadly, never again for me.

Had a really good night out watching my first Burlesque show! Brilliant! I am disabled, but there was enough leg room in the seating. The down side was accessing the disabled loo. A bit tricky as we were told that the lift was out of order. It turned out it wasn't! Will definitely go again!

Great intimate theatre. Good for prices. Friendly staff, and top quality acts. Saw Robert Plant and Saving Grace. Amazing 👏 🤩
