A Medieval Masterpiece in Tuscany that must be seen. Wander through this beautiful town and be transported back in time. Wonderful boutique stores, trattorias, bakeries, gelato and so much more to experience. The views are breathtaking. Very easy to get to by car. Several main areas for parking. It truly is a magical place to see.

Such a wonderful spot to relax and grab a beverage. I really enjoyed my time here as there are many interesting shops and good eats, including gluten free options!

A stunning piazza that is well worth seeing. Beautifully medieval houses adorn this piazza with a well in the middle. There is lots of interesting shops nearby. In piazza itself there is a famous gelato place. When we were there, there was live music playing nearby. Quite the experience I would say.

San Gimignano and his pittoresk towers are a must see when visiting Tuscany. It has an historical value and though very touristique worthwhile visiting.

Main entrance to the town. Parking is at a premium with a number parking areas scattered outside town. This should be your warning you are stepping into a tourist honey trap. Yes, it is full of beautiful buildings, but it is also packed with tourists and all the shops to support them. I visited in Autumn and it was still heaving in the late afternoon. Try and visit out of season to see it's true beauty. Or visit one of the less well known towns.

We walked around about midnight. Perfect time to see all the sites lit up with no crowds, quiet, peaceful. If you can stay up late a great adventure at night.

Nice small square. The only place to sit is on the steps of the well. The Gelato was very good. Couldn't find the Gelato location on maps so just posted pics here.

Once we step inside the city walls in San Gimignano, we feel like we have stepped into another time, a few centuries back. It’s not just buildings that touch the clouds that are the only thing worth seeing in San Gimignano. Although the towers are what sets the city apart from others, many small charming Tuscan places. There are also countless beautiful churches, valuable works of art, palaces, beautiful narrow streets and squares. One of them is Piazza della Cisterna (Cistern Square). In earlier times, the Piazza della Cisterna was the centre of all public performances, tournaments and festivals that were held in the city. It was also the main marketplace of the people. Its design is from the 13th century and it is named after the Cisterna (Water Cistern) that is still present amid the piazza today. Connected to the town’s largest square, Piazza del Duomo through an open passage, this piazza is entirely paved with brick and is surrounded on all sides by houses and towers from the Medieval Era. The beauty and charm of this square is created by the beautiful atmosphere and scenery with l’arco dei Becci (Arc of Becci), which is the gate of the ancient city of San Gimignano. The Torri dei Becci (Tower of Becci) is on the left and the Torri dei Cugnanesi (Tower of Cugnanesi) is on the right side of this arc. Among these is the Palazzo Razzi, characterized by its mullion windows. The adjacent Casa Salvestrini is a former hospital that was converted into a hotel. Dine at the hotel’s café patio or upper floor restaurant, which affords views across Tuscany’s majestic countryside. Overlooking the north side of the square we can see Devil's Tower. Legend states that, after a trip, the tower’s proprietor noticed that its height had increased. He accredited the occurrence to a diabolical intervention and the tower subsequently took on its name. The square, along with Piazza Duomo, is a venue for various fairs which are held as part of festivals in honor of saints, including St. Fina, the city’s patron saint.

Great place to sit back and watch the abundant history of this amazing town. Coffee shops ringing the edge are a good place to take it all in albeit staff are often a bit grunpy

A really MUST!! This is the tallest tower in San Gimignano... so you can imagine how beautiful is the view... On top of it... it is not as difficult as one may think... A MUST!!!

If you're gonna do just one thing in San Gimignano, climb the Torre Grossa. Definitely do it. Beats every single other experience we've had in Tuscany and Italy so far. The views from the top are just spectacular, a 360 degree view of the Tuscan countryside. I can't stress enough how beautiful it is. There are quite a few steps up - around 200, and there is no lift. So keep that in mind. It's worth getting the combined ticket if you're interested in medieval art, churches and frescoes, otherwise just go up the tower. Come earlier during the day. We visited around 11 AM on a Saturday in May. There was no wait and not too many people - it didn't feel packed on the top.

Is remarkable, beautiful and medieval. But expensive ticket. I did not pay to climb. There are better views from other parts of the city. Ice cream is superb :).

It is the tallest tower in the town and can be visited at a cost of €9 or €13 with the "SAN GIMIGNANO PASS". There are many steps to reach the platform with the bells but the reward is a magnificent 360° panorama. Wealthy families showed off their wealth by building towers and compete in their height . A limit was placed on this, they could not be higher than the Rognosa tower, that of the "podestà" who was a public magistrate with various tasks. To expand the space available to him in 1300 he began the construction of this new palace with this even higher tower: 54 meters. For this reason the Grossa tower is also called the new "Podestà" tower.

Amazing little medieval walled city. Really wonderful to walk around and visit the different shops and feel the history all around it.

Especially when it’s nice weather, I recommend to climb all the way up and admire the view from the top of the 50-meter-high tower. The stairs may take you some time (there are around 200 steps) but have been renovated so they are wide and more than safe

Well-worth the hike up 200+ stairs for these incredible 360 degree views of Tuscany. You need to climb a ladder to get to the very top of the tower and need to duck under the bell to experience the full views, which further limits accessibility, but there are some spots to take in views through windows along the way if the full climb isn't for you.

Possibly the best panoramic view in Tuscany! San Gimignano and Montepulciano are my favorites for scenic views. Worth the climb up the stairs and small ladder. Not crowded, even on a weekend, when nearby gelato shops have lines.

When you visit San Gimignano the best place to see the amazing beauty of the town and surrounding countryside is to climb the Torre Grossa. The views are well worth the climb, which is not too arduous.

My wife and I paid 13EUR each to obtain a pass that included Torre Grossa entry. Despite being Sunday with crowds in the city, there was no line or waiting to gain entry to the tower. We ascended the 218 steps to the top of the tower and enjoyed spectacular views of both the city and surrounding area. The steps up are 'grated metal' and thus allow you to see all the way to the bottom of the stairwell if you look straight down - those with vertigo are advised to hang on to the railing and simply look straight ahead and you will be good-to-go. The stairwell ends with quite literally a steel ladder that you must climb approximately 10 feet before entering the top of the tower - so anyone not able to climb ladder rungs should probably avoid this adventure.

San Gimignano - a perfectly pretty and small hilltop Tuscany town with many medieval towers. Torre Grossa is the tallest and only one that you can climb - and you must climb to view awesome Tuscany landscapes.

Great view Toscana from the top of the Torre. Forget about climbing the stairs. Is very easy to get to the top and also worth the effort and the money.

Beautiful grounds, but better options in the area for the price. We booked a 3pm lunch in the garden, had a great arrival at 3pm, had to wait 40minutes which was fun to explore the grounds. The tasting was suppose to be a sample 11-12 wines. We sampled 6, and had a large gap after the main meal. We were provided 3 glass to sample the wins and were asked to mix wins to save glass/reused multiple wine glasses when other tables had 6-9 glass per spot. Minimal explanation on what the wines were, which tasted good, but couldn’t navigate what was being served. Good wine, but negative tourist trap experience.

We had such a great time at our wine tasting. We were each given 6 wines and we all got our own plate filled with delicious meats and cheeses. Not only was the wine great but so were the homemade olive oils and balsamic. The tasting was very informative, interactive and fun. The property is super beautiful and would love to go back next time in Tuscany!

Majorly underdelivered. Sales session. The olive oil experience was not what is described on their website. We were seated in a pleasant room with glasses set out and some olive oil bottles. Bread pieces were brought and six olive oils were pored in the glasses. After only a couple minutes of vague instruction, we were left alone. No history, nothing about the process of making olive oil, nothing about how to taste, nothing about how to use the various olive oils in cooking. Quite disappointing. The man there was much more interested in speaking to the other couples who were sampling wine. He was clearly about making sales. We had to flag him down to ask about the olive oils. His answers were very short and he would shockingly walk away in mid-conversation (to go to the other couples). We had to flag him back down, only to experience the same superficial responses and an abrupt departure by him. My expression of shock at this was quite apparent. We told the man that the description said 10 olive oils would be tasted. His first response was that the 6 varieties were what he had. Some time later, he came with two more bottles that he „found“ in the back. FYI, the waitress, Mary, was very pleasant and helpful. She brought us the platter of food up front. When we were finished with tasting, I asked her for the dessert described in the description. It felt like that would not have been given to us given we were totally left alone the final 15+ minutes. The man was quite busy talking with the other customers, and then he disappeared. He never came to conclude the session or say goodbye.

Amazing 5-star experience. We did the wine and food tasting and got to taste 7 different wines, plus additional two ones, and had amazing food with it. All of the staff are extremely professional, friendly and service-minded. The estate itself and interior is absolutely beautiful. Only negative thing is that in the end, it felt a bit too pushy with sales of the wine bottles, but it was done in a friendly way. All in all, an amazing experience we will remember.

Disappointing customer service. We had a wonderful tour, lunch and tasting at the winery. We placed an order to have wine shipped to our home and got notified it would be delivered within 2 weeks. A week later, we received word from Fed Ex that the shipment had been damaged with instructions to contact the winery for resolution. I reached out immediately but waited several days for a response. I had included the communication/explanation from FedEx, but the winery required me to send them proof of purchase before they would do anything. I immediately sent photos of my purchase paperwork, then again waited multiple days with no response. I reached out again and was informed that they won't send a replacement shipment until FedEx provides them proof that it was in fact damaged. It's been over a month since I placed my order. I now plan to request a chargeback from credit card company. Very disappointing. While I like their wine, I cannot recommend anyone purchase an order for shipment.

Casual wine appreciator here. Came around start of november for wine tasting and a vineyard walk. The vineyard was really beautiful with a lot of roaming animals. The weather was good so it was also nice to chill outside. The wine tasting and truffle lunch was also delicious! The wine selection was also really good for the price of the lunch. Only downside is that even with the discount, their wines are still quite expensive (40-80 euros). But if you’re only here for the experience then it’s worth it!

PLEASE BEWARE OF SCAM. Let me tell you our story in brief. We went on a wine tour with my wife and young son. This was our first stop. The owner was a charismatic man who made friends with us and my son, telling me of his own young boy. He told us very clearly that ALL costs including shipping and duties are included in our purchase. At the counter, he then mentioned that as Canadians we must purchase a minimum of a crate, not making eye contact. Fast forward a few weeks and UPS has notified us of a 102% levy on the wine!! That means double the price, from 700CAD to 1400CAD. To make matters worse, my wife has been receiving scam emails from a fake UPS site with all her info and finally compromising her card! I know there is a high rating here, but we did not deserve to be treated this way. I send this as a warning to anyone visiting or making purchases here.

My friends and I did a cooking class with Dante and we had the most incredible time. Staff was extremely friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable of Italian cuisine and wine. Dante really gave us the best experience and we look forward to returning! Thank you!!

Beautiful experience! We did the truffle cooking class with Dante, amazing. He was probably the nicest and most down to Earth person we have met on our travels so far. Not to mention hilarious and a good chef. Would 100% recommend this to anyone, especially doing it with close friends or family. Great job, Dante.

If I could give this place a zero I would. WARNING: DO NOT ORDER WINE FROM HERE. Honestly the wine was nothing special minus one of them I really liked. The olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette were also really good so I ordered some. I ordered over $130 worth of product and it never came. My friends who ordered products got theirs, but mine never came. When I went to reach out to them, they took days to reply and then sent me in circles. They said they would reach out Monday and then Monday comes and they say they will reach out Tuesday all while saying they have the information about my order, but they simply will not send me tracking information or just be honest about never sending out my order. If you like a gamble, go ahead and order. Maybe you will get your order, maybe you won't....like me and a few others (read reviews I am NOT the only one)

I went to a tasting as part of a tour. Wine was good, and the snacks with balsamic vinegar and olive oil were excellent. The presentation and service were fun and approachable. Other tastings I went to provided more volume, but they also cost more. Overall the tasting was a good value and I would return. They did, without asking, do a currency conversion on my credit card purchase, which cost me $15. Completely unnecessary, and I'm not sure why they would do it since it benefits only the credit card processing company. Pay cash or ask upfront. Every other vendor I used my card with would either run a straight euro transaction or allow me to use the terminal and decline.

I want to start with the positives! This business is truly run with love. we did a wine tasting and our server was so kind and passionate in sharing her family’s story and information about the wine. Additionally the location is magnificent! they have animals and it’s in a great part of the countryside. Now, the not so great parts…The prices for this are too high. We came to visit as Americans and so we almost felt as if we were taken advantage of. there were three of us but I did not drink and was still charged the full €39 for the wine tasting when i consumed no wine…odd? According to the people I was with, the wine was nothing to phone home about and so it was not worth nearly €40 per person.

We booked a Wine, Oil and Vinegar Tasting here and took a coach out from Florence. The bus had AC and the trip wasn't too far so was quite a nice journey through the Tuscan countryside. We were met by our host who was knowledgeable and shown into a room with cheese, ham and bread out with some wine already poured, my wine had a bug in it so I was a bit put off. The wines themselves were lovely. We tried a White, 2 Reds, Rosé, 2 Oils and a 30yo Vinegar which was delicious!!

We arrived without a booking for wine tasting but were accommodated for and offered various packages. We chose wine tasting with light lunch at 55e each and 15e for kids. Melanie who did the wine tasting for us was super friendly and knowledgeable! We had a great afternoon. Great tasting wine and generous pours, yummy food and again amazing service. Highly recommend!

This was the most amazing experience. We stayed at the hotel signed up for the wine tour and lunch. The next day we did the cooking class, and ate what we made. Then finally dinner in the cave. Dante was awesome with the wine class. The staff is just awesome. We ate A LOT of food and DRANK A LOT of wine in the 2 days that we signed up for those events. Highly recommend this, and would definitely come back and do it again.

Had a fantastic experience! Would highly recommend. We bought tickets for the transportation from Florence and tasting. The only thing I would advise is if you are booking through Get Your Guide make sure you confirm the pickup time for the transportation with Tenuta. Get Your Guide will provide communications to arrive 10 minutes before the start time to be picked up but the transportation actually arrives 1 hour before to be picked up. At first it seemed like Tenuta wasn’t going to be able to accommodate but they called us back with availability to pick us up a few hours later. Very much appreciated!

This was a lovely property with friendly staff however this was not our best wine tasting experience… we have been in Tuscany for about 8 days and have visited several wineries in the Chianti region, all have been wonderful and the wine has been too notch! I will say, the wine produced out of this winery was very good, and the food pairing was nice. The issue we had with our experience was that if really felt like a factory, just funnelling guests in and out, and there wasn’t a ton of connection with the folks running or supporting the wine tasting. We got seated and created by 2 different people, had 2 glasses poured right away with no instruction or explanation by a 3rd person and then finally the “main wine expert” came over to us (after about 10 minutes of us just sitting and waiting with no direction) and he gave a very quick rundown of 6 different wines what were sitting in front of us then disappeared until we finished our last glass. It would have been a more enjoyable experience if we had been grouped together with a few others so that we could enjoy the wine together rather then just sitting with little direction. Thankfully we are very familiar with the wine tasting process and we’re able to make the most of it but I think there would be benefit to making the basic tastings more fun and sociable especially when your tasting so many wines! This didn’t feel like an authentic experience to us but the quality of wine was very nice.

Superb afternoon tasting wines with wonderful appetisers, guided by an expert. Felt under no obligation to buy - superb experience. Even our daughter who is too young to try the wine was taught how to hold the glass properly and smell the aromas - they even specially made her some spaghetti.

Such an excellent place! I was here with my group of tourists and we had the most amazing experience. The host Mira was so charming and friendly. They have excellent wines, olive oils, balsamico and all these were served with delicious Tuscan salami, cheeses and bread. I will be back for sure!

I look forward to coming to Tenuta Torciano every time I travel to Italy. The location is top notch - about 45 minutes away from Florence, clean, well manicured, and elegant. You can tell the staff all love what they do and are extremely knowledgable about the region, food, and wine. The food and wine pairing is extravagant and well thought out, especially for those who are unfamiliar with wine tastings. Truly a professional, welcoming, and generous establishment.

The perfect place for a large group tasting. We thoroughly enjoyed 9+ different wines, and a surprisingly stout food menu of meats, cheeses, breads, soup, lasagna, truffle oil, and balsamic vinegar. Lead by the expert guide of Gabriele, our 60+ wedding party had the most incredible tour. The vineyard excels in quality both on site as well as shipping internationally, some of the more rare wines of the Chianti region

Complete tourist trap! Stay as far away from this place as possible. The tours are average at best, mostly rushing you through to get you to buy as much wine as possible at the end. Buyer beware, their customer service is the absolute worst and non existent. We purchased the luxury wine set for £500. When we got home and opened the wine, both bottles were bad. When I reached out to their customer service, they told me they would get back to me with a resolution. Three days later, they emailed me to say that I must have stored it incorrectly and they are sorry they can’t help me. Prior to this incident, I had booked their wine school here in the US. They were to come and do a demonstration of their wine for 20+ guests. When I told them that I would not move forward with the wine school, they finally decided that they would help me. They sent two more bottles of their luxury wine and BOTH of those bottles were bad. We open them as soon as we receive them so t storage of the wine would not come into play. I once again reached out to the winery, and they told me that they would get back to me with a resolution. They emailed me four days later to say there was nothing they could do to help me, and that they raise a glass to me. £500 and they did not resolve the issue. Also read other customer service issues that other people have had with this winery before you consider purchasing anything from them.

At the center there is a food market, which I think is focused more on the locals rather than tourists. The view from the top castle overlooks the hills of Tuscany where many farms and villas are located.

It is a informative historical museum. The model of the town and the model depicting the use of the interiors of the towers were especially interesting. There is a small gift shop as you enter that has some interesting souvenirs.

This art museum is nice but very small. Not something to go out of your way for, but if you're in town definitely stop in for a few minutes to see the model of the city as it was around the year 1300.

If you have ever thought about old Tuscany this is like a dream. Beautiful architecture with a human scale. It just feels good to wander around this hilltop city. Outstanding.

Lots of interesting things to see in San G., but this is one of my favorites.

The museum is a little off the main tourist road up the slope. This is probably why this great museum is not overcrowded, although it does not cost any admission. But for a donation, young and old can marvel at a bombastic miniature version of the city from around 1300. Impressive above all because it comes very close to its current state.

It is free 3D recreation of the town as 1300. It says that 2 brothers made it in 2 years. Must see place. Do not forget to support it by buying some nice gifts to your loved ones.

Nice little attraction walking among cafes, ice cream stores etc. friendly staff and easy to navigate with good descriptions of the different things on display.

Shocking but interesting. I would advise not to bring small/sensitive kids, it is quite graphic.

Very illustrated and easy to understand museum. It is quite scary and we all had a very bad stomach ache afterwards but this was expectable concerning the issue at hand. The topics are diverse and all time periods are considered.

Very exciting place if you're not afraid of going into the scary and dark part of the italian history. Good experience but it was too hard to find the second building of the museum in the city because of the few signs and guidance.

The Museum of TORTURE at PORTA GIOVANI St GIGINAMO FLORENCE ITALY, Itself explained the message, visited with family in end of MAY 2019.

Was skeptical but ended up really enjoying the experience. For 10€ you also get to enter Museum of death penalty, which was more graphical and anxiety inducing. Overall very educational and interesting. Despite being small it took us almost 1.5hours for both museums.

Sensation seeking from the darkest part of the human mind. You've not thought enough about the history of Italy, gladiators, of slavery, imperialism and fascism. If you want to prevent people from doing these things again then you have to put that idea first. And start at the entrance. For me and many more people for this reason it's absolutely uninteresting. You made a sensation seeking event out of. In my opinion disgusting. And the fact that even children can enter even dangerous!

There are many steps to reach the platform with the bells but the reward is a magnificent 360° panorama. Wealthy families showed off their wealth by building towers and compete in their height . A limit was placed on this, they could not be higher than the Rognosa tower, that of the "podestà" who was a public magistrate with various tasks. To expand the space available to him in 1300 he began the construction of this new palace with this even higher tower: 54 meters. For this reason the Grossa tower is also called the new "Podestà" tower.

Especially when it’s nice weather, I recommend to climb all the way up and admire the view from the top of the 50-meter-high tower. The stairs may take you some time (there are around 200 steps) but have been renovated so they are wide and more than safe

When you visit San Gimignano the best place to see the amazing beauty of the town and surrounding countryside is to climb the Torre Grossa. The views are well worth the climb, which is not too arduous.

My wife and I paid 13EUR each to obtain a pass that included Torre Grossa entry. Despite being Sunday with crowds in the city, there was no line or waiting to gain entry to the tower. We ascended the 218 steps to the top of the tower and enjoyed spectacular views of both the city and surrounding area. The steps up are 'grated metal' and thus allow you to see all the way to the bottom of the stairwell if you look straight down - those with vertigo are advised to hang on to the railing and simply look straight ahead and you will be good-to-go. The stairwell ends with quite literally a steel ladder that you must climb approximately 10 feet before entering the top of the tower - so anyone not able to climb ladder rungs should probably avoid this adventure.

Absolutely amazing. I went here in summer 2023 and was blown away with hospitality. I unfortunately arrived late due to transportation issues and it was not a problem and instead i was encouraged to stay as long as I'd like. (do not recommend being late just very glad they could accommodate me). The wine and food was immaculate, I booked the truffle tasting thinking i was just getting my pasta and wine and instead was happily surprised with a olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting as well! Truffle pasta is definitely worth trying, the snack plate was also very tasty. Every single staff member was very kind and informative. They have the cutest dog on the property and even let me meet him when i asked. Also gave me a brief info tour on the property when i asked. 10/10 would absolutely book again!

Great experience in local wines of San Gimignano. Staff was friendly and informative. We booked the wine tasting with dinner and tour package. The tasting and dinner were delicious, although we never got a tour of the vineyard... When we asked if we could look around the vineyard, they said it was fine. But they must have forgotten about our private tour 😕

This place is beautiful!!! And the experience was amazing. We started with a mini tour of the vineyards and they explained all the different crops and processes to us. Then we did the tasting. The wines, olive oils, and vinegar were great and the food and cheese were a nice added touch. Bonus points for the family dogs on the property that you could pet and play with.

We booked online, very easily. We were warmly greeted and given an overview of the business and vineyards. The tasting was great, we took the merenda snack onr with appetizers, olive oils, aceto balsamico and wines. The dishes and wines were all of very good quality. It was a pity not to see the cellars due to work being done, but understandable.

This beautiful family owned vineyard it’s an absolute must if you planing to visit the marvelous town of San Gimignano. It’s only 15 minutes away by foot or you can take the 130 buss that comes from Poggibonsi. We reserved ahead the wine, olive oil and balsamic vinegar experience. You get to sit and have a wonderful view of Tuscany, they give you 5 wines to try, the Vernaccia is absolutely amazing! Then you can try al the different olive oils and vinegars. You should plan to stay there atapuce 2 hours! You have after and before to visit San Gimignano since it’s a really small town. The family is so nice and give you personalized experience! Would 100% recommend it if you are traveling around Tuscany!

We had a fantastic wine and olive oil tasting, as well as a 'tuscan style' lunch here. The price for the tour was very reasonable too. The location is stunning too, with a beautiful view of San Gimignano, and surrounding wineries. Highly recommend a visit here is you have time.

Wow, just amazing. Brilliant wine, brilliant staff, wonderful setting - even on a windy day like today! We looked at a lot of tours and obviously in Tuscany you are spolit for choice which can be overwhelming! We are so pleased we chose La Morronaia for our tasting! Really good value and no problems with my dietaries even with only one day notice. We did choose the wine and cheese tasting which was easier but given the hospitality I'm sure with more notice they'd have accommodated a full meal tasting for us. Sara was so knowledgeable and has a very friendly and inviting approach - I'm so happy she let me practice my Italian without judgement and also was very good at English herself.

This was our favorite experience. We did the saffron pairing and it was very yummy. They made vegetarian accommodations.

Spent a whole day here truffle hunting, at a cooking class, wine and olive oil tasting, and eating lunch in the vineyard. The service and activities were all stellar, but the prices for wine and olive oil were a bit high, especially for this region. The weather was gorgeous as we started off the day driving to a nearby forest to go truffle hunting. The truffle hunter was friendly, and we learned so much from him about the different kinds of truffles we could find. Getting back, we began our cooking class to make bruschetta, pasta, and chocolate truffles. All of which tasted delicious! Then we got to finally sit under one of the umbrellas to enjoy our lunch, wine tasting, and olive oil tasting. I particularly loved the spicy olive oil with the medium balsamic vinaigrette. The whole activity is a bit pricey, but it was nice not to worry about going from one activity to another as everyone at the family run winery communicated with one another to make our experience relaxing.

The wine tasting at Podere La Marronaia was held in front of spectacular views of vineyards and olive trees. Delicious Vernaccia (white wine) and Sangiovese (red wine) wines were accompanied by delicious bread, different oils and vinegars. The atmosphere was very friendly and the hosts very informative 👌 I highly recommend this place to my friends.

A really MUST!! This is the tallest tower in San Gimignano... so you can imagine how beautiful is the view... On top of it... it is not as difficult as one may think... A MUST!!!

If you're gonna do just one thing in San Gimignano, climb the Torre Grossa. Definitely do it. Beats every single other experience we've had in Tuscany and Italy so far. The views from the top are just spectacular, a 360 degree view of the Tuscan countryside. I can't stress enough how beautiful it is. There are quite a few steps up - around 200, and there is no lift. So keep that in mind. It's worth getting the combined ticket if you're interested in medieval art, churches and frescoes, otherwise just go up the tower. Come earlier during the day. We visited around 11 AM on a Saturday in May. There was no wait and not too many people - it didn't feel packed on the top.

Beautiful place and unlike every other sacral building in Italy it seems you don't have to pay to enter ..

Cozy and quiet place

Wonderful church with beautiful paints inside. There is also a gilded marble dedicated to S.Giminiano (saint of the city). There is also a Fresco by Benozzo Gozzoli

The nice thing about the Catholic churches in Tuscany is the modesty. Hardly any swank and gold. More like stone and wood. I notice that positively.

This church is okay,buy the Duomo is much better. There are some decent frescoes here but about half are damaged severely. I would avoid coming here unless you really have the time, but why not leave town early to go see Siena (or other nearby town) at that point?

Like everything else in San Gimigniano, the church is a fabulous place, including the Ghirlandaio masterpiece.

Beautiful medieval church

Nice park, with beautiful views atop the old walls of the medevial city. There is also an area dedicated to children. You can bring dogs around and there are fountains with drinkable water. Also, at night it's great for stargazing

High up in the city there is a wonderful little park with lots of opportunities to chill, read and enjoy. here you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and also have a free panoramic view.

Nice little park with some great views. There are old city walls you can walk up for a nice view. There are some benches in this area too.

La Rocca tower in this lovely little park is the highest point in San Gimignano and is a great place to watch the sunset, with amazing views all around.

Worth a visit because of the panoramic view

An excellent video presentation about the history of the town, which you don't often get elsewhere. The house itself is amazing and you can get up close to everything. The ladies at the ticket desk were lovely and very helpful.

Spectacular more than 1000 years of historical town San Gimignano ,Tuscany.

You are invited to share an experience of an upper middle class family who lived amid a buzzing medieval town. Beautifully furnished and adorned. As you reached the roof top, you are invited to a video presentation provides the history, culture and socio-economic perspectives of the times. Entry fee is 7 euros.

Great museum. You can walk around a Tuscan house and learn about the people that lived, you can also look inside one of those San Gimigniano towers, the house has been donated to the FAI by the last owner. There is also a movie/presentation that gives you a summary of the history of town and Tuscany. Great experience, worth visiting!

Very worthwhile the visit. There are two ticket prices. With an video presentation ir the city, and without. Seeing the photo albuns was an incredible experience. From inside foi can see the tower inside, but not escalate it. Still beautiful.

We booked a wine tasting for a large family group (10 people) and it was absolutely fantastic! The tour of the wine cellar and vineyards were fantastic and very informative and the wine tasting was amazing - plenty of wine and plenty of food. I would highly recommend this place with the most amazing view. The track up to the winery is a dirt track and quite steep but do not let that put you off.

The wine tour was a highlight of our trip! We really enjoyed seeing how and where the wine is made and stored at this winery. David was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot. The tasting was great as each wine was paired with delicious food all the while you’re looking at a beautiful view.

Perfect spot for a getaway from a big city. Very relaxing place, very peaceful, very nice wine tasting experience with David and yep the wines are amazing, not too much expensive! The only downside is the road leading to the vineyard is a bit rough, about 10mins of rough road so make sure you have nice tires 🍻

David was a dream to have as our tour guide through the vineyard and through their cellars. VERY knowledgeable and funny. Suleiman the dog will melt any dog lover’s heart the whole time you are there. This vineyard is located atop a large hill in Tuscany giving picturesque views of the surrounding area and villages. David also went above and beyond with our wine tasting and they were all delicious. He was helpful with our limited knowledge of the wine industry and characteristics and made the visit more than worth the already good price!

Visited for a wine tour and tasting and it could not have been better. Friends visited last year and said it was the best wine tour that they experienced out of a few so we booked it this year. David is a knowledgeable and generous host and the tour is comprehensive and informative without being rushed. The following tasting is more of a light lunch with a spectacular view of San Gimignano. We visited this winery on the last day of our Tuscany trip and it immediately became one of the highlights of the entire trip. Arranging an appointment was straightforward and easy. When we arrived at the top of the winery after a somewhat adventurous road, we had a wonderful view of a dreamlike Tuscan landscape and the wonderful San Gimignano, as well as the typical Tuscan buildings of the winery. We were in a bit of a hurry when we got upstairs, but if you first breathe in the wonderfully calm atmosphere of this idyll, you come to rest immediately, but at the latest when you get to know David with his calm, level-headed and serene manner. After some small talk, the tour started. First about the history of the winery on the grapevines, about the production in the warehouses and about the wine itself in the wine cellar. David's knowledge does not begin and end with wine, he has a great general knowledge, which enables him to consider many aspects of wine production and sales from different perspectives and contexts and what makes the tour all the more informative for visitors. After this very informative tour in an intimate circle, we went back to the table where, in addition to some bread with olive oil and nice conversations, the wine tasting took place. David takes his time and goes into every single wine and he and Salomon are great company. I would just like to say this much about the wines: our wallets are now lighter and our cellars are full. In the end, David again showed us his hospitality and we were allowed to enjoy the food we had brought with us on his dreamlike terrace, together with a couple of open bottles of wine and an incredible view of San Gimignano and the surrounding landscape. In conclusion, I would like to warmly recommend a visit to this winery to anyone who can plan a stay in Tuscany.

If there were more than 5 stars to give, this winery deserves them. Thank you David for a wonderful and informative afternoon. Loved the wines and the bites that accompanied them. One of the biggest highlights of our trip to Italy! Really enjoyed learning about the wine making process and tasting all the wines! I loved my visit to the winery. We had a wonderful tasting. The scenery is beautiful. I ordered two boxes of wine but never received the second box. I’ve sent several emails with no reply. I suppose I’m just out over $200 for a box of wine paid for but not received.

A wonderful winery with a beautiful view! We accidentally came outside of visiting hours, however David was very friendly and still offered us a wine tasting. We walked away with a lovely bottle of their Chianti Classico.

A stellar wine tasting experience. David was a very interesting and personable guide, discussing the history of the winery and local region with us and answering any questions we had with professionalism. The wine itself was phenomenal and highly varied. David explained each wine to us, outlining the flavour notes and pairings to us. The food was staged and paired spectacularly with each wine we were given. The views of San Gimignano were also stunning. I'd love to come again, and wish I could bring their wines back with me.

David was the perfect tour guide, host, and person to share a lovely afternoon with! Our group left full of delicious local food, had all of our wildest wine dreams met and had the pleasure of hearing all about rich Tuscan history. To make things even better their fur baby Suleiman joined us on our adventures. I would highly recommend touring the vineyard and soaking in all the wonderful things this Tuscan Heaven on Earth has to offer.

We went here for a tour and tasting and got welcomed by David. A really nice guy. He made the tour very interesting. The wines itself were really good, some of them different than many others we had in our stay. Very interesting. With the wines we had really some really nice bites like the pickled paprika, pecorino cheese, hams and salami. It was one of the best and nicest tastings we ever did. I would definitely recommend this.

What a gratis place to stay (and taste wine!). David is a excellent host who shows love for the winery and is a great storyteller. The appartements are very comfortable, bedrooms are air-conditioned. The estate is great to explore, swimming pool is excellent. One minor detail: the road to the estate is somewhat challenging. I you are so unfortunate that you own a sportcar, forget it. A 4x4 will do the job properly..

Interesting small museum

Excellent value for €10. Very interesting explanations of multiple types of torture. You can access both museums. We personally prefer this one as the second one was more focused on witches and inquistion. Totally worth a visit.

It is quite shocking but interesting. Don’t bring kids if they are too small. You can see two museums with the same ticket, this one and the one beside the gate about the inquisition. Worth the visit.

The museum is small but interesting. The app with extra spoken info didn't work. And more historical info about the instrument would have been better.

Disturbing, realistic and scary experience. Interesting to see and get to know about our human history, but be prepared to see life size models of people being hung. Don’t go with children

The museum is interesting g but the displays are fairly limited. Soe t only about 45min and we were done. EUR50 for a family of 5 so quite expensive. Still worth a visit but I think the one in Sienna has more on display.

Even though it might seem small at first, this extremely unique museum has quite detailed exhibit descriptions and interesting material. Didn’t finish the entire thing as we got a bit sick by the end, however I would still recommend one go. the 10 euro ticket gets you admission to this Museum AND the torture museum nearby
