We arrived here on 28-Aug-2021, and there's a sign saying that the cathedral is not allowed to walk in for visiting because the building is currently unsafe. What a pity! But the views around there are still worth looking.

So amazingly terrific to explore the ruins of this enormous cathedral. Plan to spend an hour or two walking around and taking pictures. One of my favorite sites from our Scotland visit.

The ruins are quite beautiful, though made a little ugly by all the fencing all over the grounds. The view from the top of the tower is worth the 160odd steps to get to the top...it's quite tight and windy steps though. The museum part could have been done a little better, and is quite overpoweringly musty in the shop side. They should limit the amount of people coming through all at once though, as I think a tour group came through all at once and make it quite noisy and impossible to move around without people bumping into you or standing in the way. Staff are nice and helpful though.

St. Andrews Cathedral is a very impressive ruin whose construction began at the beginning of the 12th century. As usual in England and Scotland, the facility is in a very well-maintained condition. Some areas are probably closed at this time for safety reasons. However, the rest of the complex offers enough space to get an overview of the size of the cathedral. Considering that the cathedral was built using only human power over a period of 150 years. Simply indescribable - you have to see it!

Absolutely stop here if you are in St. Andrew’s. Especially if you like history. Take a walk through the grave stones and read them, they’re fascinating. And the museum inside was well organized and put together.

Genuinely remarkable piece of history - it's great to sometimes keep these historical sites as they are, as it allows a greater understanding of the events that have unfolded around them. This in particular was interesting, highlighting the effects of the protestant reformation.

Unfortunately it was closed. So couldn't get inside to have a look around to get a feel of the place. Overall still good to see the ruins from outside.

The Cathedral of St Andrew is a ruined cathedral in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. In June 1559 during the Reformation, a Protestant mob incited by the preaching of John Knox ransacked the cathedral; the interior of the building was destroyed. The cathedral fell into decline following the attack and became a source of building material for the town. St Andrews is a great town to walk around and explore. An amazing cathedral ruin in St Andrews. The history of this cathedral is quite long, and its once magnificent scene can be seen from the ruins of the walls that still exist in it. The pity is that some places are restricted, and many of the tombstones are surrounded by guardrails, losing some of the historical beauty. Overall, it's worth a visit if you come to St Andrews.

Walk the timeless cathedral grounds and, though the cathedral no longer stands as it once did, the gravestones that populate this site will capture your interest. This is a one-of-a-kind cemetery that you won’t find anywhere else in the world. While you’re at or near St. Andrews, be sure to visit and stroll the grounds, enjoying the ancient headstone inscriptions that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Good place to walk around and see the ruins of the cathedral. If you walk beyond the ruins(there's a door at the left end of the graveyard) you get a great view of the ocean. The landscape there is really beautiful.

Loved the history here. The museum is a must see and the tower is a must climb! Some gravestones are cordoned off just now for saftey but still a very worthwhile stop. Great walks nearby to the harbour pier for another view of the ruins and you also get a great view of the castle from there too.

Didn't go into the museum or anything, just walked around the ruins and it was pretty cool. I can imagine how magnificent it would have been back in the day. Now the grounds are graveyard, very cool to be walking around ruins looking at old graves.

Really something special! The remains of St Andrews Cathedral, which was Scotland’s largest cathedral and most magnificent church, show how impressive it used to be. The ruins of St Andrews Cathedral are open but there are fences surrounding the walls of the Cathedral. A section of the graveyard and a number of unstable gravestones are also fenced off for safety until they can be stabilised.

Lovely walk around central St Andrews harbour and town..in the rain.. plenty to see and do here...steaped in history...dates back to the 6th century..with one of the oldest golf course's in the world...

Pretty interesting place but was under alot of renovation so alot of places you couldn't get in or even get to including the museum part. I'm guessing this is so it can be open for summer so may return then for a proper look

Very beautiful and historical place to visit with family, it's near a beach so you can swim and relax. Had to buy seperate tickets for both Castle and Cathedral. Scenic beauty and history, parking available can spend a whole day here. Kids and adults both will love, toilets are available too.

Evocative ruins of a glorious past, look stunning and call for a nice walk among them. There’s a small museum within the ruins, unfortunately it was closed during my visit.

Some very intersting achitecture. We went out of season so didn't get to see the museum or climb the tower which hs excellent views. The staff were lovely. Would reccomend if you're interested in history and old graves, even though it was closed off we enjoyed our visit.

Visited a few years ago when it was free access. which I was surprised at. Visited St Andrews recently and you now need to pay a small amount. Safety and protection works are taking place so check online for tickets and any closures. Well worth a visit.

Now, currently the castle is closed due to falling masonry, but the visitor center is still open and free to get in. There is a gift shop and a walk through of the history of the castle and St Andrews cathedral. Also you can get closer to the castle as there is green space around it that is still accessible. Good to go to if you are in the area currently and want to visit. I hope to return once the castle is open again.

I recently had the opportunity to visit St Andrews Castle and it was truly a remarkable experience. The castle itself is steeped in history and offers a glimpse into Scotland's rich past. Upon entering the castle, I was immediately captivated by the grandeur of the ruins. The rugged stone walls and towering towers created a sense of awe and transported me back in time. Exploring the various rooms and corridors, I couldn't help but imagine the lives of those who once inhabited this magnificent structure. One of the highlights of my visit was the underground mine and counter-mine. It was fascinating to learn about the strategic importance of these underground tunnels during times of siege. The audio guide provided detailed information, making the experience even more immersive. The views from the top of the castle were breathtaking. I could see the vast expanse of the North Sea and the charming town of St Andrews. It was the perfect spot to pause, take in the beauty of the surroundings, and reflect on the history that unfolded within these walls. The staff at St Andrews Castle were friendly and knowledgeable. The visitor center and exhibits were well-maintained and enhanced the overall experience. I highly recommend a visit to St Andrews Castle for anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply seeking a unique and memorable experience. It is a place that truly transports you to another time and leaves you with a deeper appreciation for Scotland's rich heritage.

Beautiful haunting castle with a tremendous amount of history. Stunning views along the coast. Cost £7+ to get in per adult but very worth it. Would allocate an hour and a half to do the tour properly. The mine and counter-mines are closed for COVID though.

To climb through the ruins you need to first enter the modern entrance building to pay admission (10,- for adults, special prices for families and minors). Here you find as well a small gift shop and restrooms. To see the castle a simple walk will help as well. Don‘t miss the view from the beach just a few steps downhill.

Great coastal castle on edge of town centre. Big visitor centre with shop, exhibition and toilets. No car park but on street parking available if you are lucky. Nearest free car park is about 15 min walk away at the new University campus opposite the golf course.

Beautiful sights amazing how the old rooms in the castle kept the wind and cold air off you when the day was blowing a gale just shows old architect's knew their stuff would definitely recommend a visit. Free entry as the museum was closed so can't comment on the price

Unfortunately the castle its self is unsafe and closed but we did go around the museum and the kids loved it there was also people dressed up in period clothing talking and showing weapons and foods full of knowledge and good fun

Little expensive to access the castle, £9.50 per adult, but we still found it worth it. There is still quite a lot of the castle left and there is quite a lot of information as you move around. Great views from the castle too.

Very amazing castle ruins. This castle has about 450 year’s history, was a bishop palace and a fortress. For now, we can see the ruins, but it’s possible to imagine what the scale of this castle used to be like. One interesting place in castle is the bottle dungeon, which is really cramped, dark and damp. In terms of the reason why this dungeon is called “bottle dungeon”, I believe it’s because of the shape, like a hole dug deep into the ground, and the space at the bottom was larger, forming the shape of a bottle. It’s hard to imagine how the prisoners inside weren’t driven mad.

Well presented ruined castle which holds a prominent place in Scottish history. Visitors centre has some good info as well. Run by HES so save yourself some money by taking out a membership!

St. Andrew Castle Ruins of a 13th-century coastal Episcopal castle with secret passageways and a dungeon. You can park easily on the beach and then walk across the cathedral to the castle and return via the beach promenade. A must see - also very interesting If you have children.

Place is beautiful to enjoy without a ticket as well. No point of paying 10pound or from site 8 pound. Area is just a ruined castle with just adjacent to sea and it makes the area much lucrative for photoshoot. Sunnyday is always recommended. Pl don't miss to visit the the catholic area which may not be seen if you don't enter the castle.. Breathtaking views of the area from outside or inside .. Easter mass was organised at sea bank just beside the castle... Enjoy your day

Great experience! Highly recommend the audio tour, sadly it was raining so bit wet but other than that a very interesting site

Spent a couple of hours here, although it's a relatively small site there is actually quite a lot to look around and a good audio guide (told as if by those who lived it rather than just information overload, so quite a good listen). Currently (October 2023) the tunnel is out of bounds so reduced price of £8 rather than £10 for adults. Great views out to sea as well, and an interesting inside area too.

What a great place. You can walk the grounds and really immerse yourself in in the history of this castle.

The museum was closed when I went so access to the castle was free, but it definitely would have been worth paying regardless. Great views and always fun to explore something from so long ago. Fun to imagine that some dude hundreds of years ago and I were chilling in the same place.

Had an amazing time touring Eden Mill! And the price for the amount of drinks they give you is a steal. All the staff were super friendly and the tour was interesting. Hope to visit again after they move into the bigger building.

We stopped in without booking a tour and to our surprise they were extremely kind and accommodating. They showed us around and we got to talk to some of their distillers. It was cool to check out their setup and hear their story. All of their products were fantastic, we had a hard time choosing which one to bring home. Visiting Eden Mill is a must when in St. Andrews!

I'm not a golfer or even remotely keen on golf, but our guest was. The course is lovely, right next to the beach and within stroke-distance (see what I did there? 😉) of the Golf Museum, Aquarium, Monument, Marker Street, beach, tidal pools, etc. The bridge is easily accessed, but be sure to WAIT for the players to complete their time on that hole, and cross the bridge BEFORE taking your snaps. And please ... don't be an InstaTwat and hog all the time posing. Even as a non-enthusiast, I was happy to have seen it.

Beautiful, but over time, this beach has been inundated with tiny particles of rock. The whole beach is covered in them. They get everywhere, and my shoes were a complete mess by the end of my walk. In addition, the water at the beach gets further away for a time, making walking to the edge a more laborious effort. Fortunately, it does return, eventually (sigh).

Perfect location for long walks or play on the beach. Deffo the best spot if you want to admire St Andrews panorama 🥰

A popular New Year’s Day walk; for a round trip start from the Road Hole on the Old Course and take the path past the Jigger Inn along the edge of the Old Course until you reach the Eden Estuary. Follow the path along the estuary that crosses the New Course until you reach the beach. Walk the firm West Sands Beach back towards Saint Andrews. Only 2 degrees C but in the winter sun, it beats the Caribbean hands down!

Fascinating sandy beach in St. Andrews. The rocky part is also a good place to climb around with your family members. The sound of sea birds and waves are so chilling that you would think that you are on a tropic beach if you visit there during summer time.

Lovely stretch of beach, still room for everyone with the golf tournament taking place. Parking officials guiding you to free parking if you were just dog walking.

Fab time down at the beach. Kids had great fun. Beach was really clean. Sand was quite fine so great for the kids to play in. Cafe and toilet facilities great too. And parking pretty decent - can get busy though at the end of the day.

West Sands is one of my favourite beaches! Its a vast sandy beach and great for dog walking. Its often very windy and so we saw windsurfers.

West sands beach is one of the most stunning beaches in fife. It's a gorgeous big area of sand and sand dunes. And if you get there at the right time for a stunning sunset then you're in for a treat. Lots of activities to do on the beach and in the water. I personally like a little late night fire when there's just a few others doing pretty much the same. It's relaxing and peaceful and a beautiful place in nature.

Beautiful clean beach stretching for as far as the eye can see. Used by many dog owners and all I met were very well behaved, dogs and humans. Only exception was one human who did poo pick but left it on a fence post…….bad hooman. If visiting please do pick it and bin it.

Very clean with toilet facilities and plenty parking spaces. Cafe available if you run out of picnic food. Views are amazing.

The car park a good size but if it really busy there is a overflow parking area. There is car parking Marshall's on busy days as well to help guide you. There lots of outdoor equipment for kids/adults to use and if you fall you'll just land on grass and get a bit muddy. There is a lots of activities for kids/adults but a few of them have charges putting/crazy golf, train ride, boats etc. There is two different kids play area for different ages and it is free and there Slides, climbing frames, assault course, swings,etc. There a few picnic tables about but if it's really busy you'll be hard pushed to find one that's empty. There is a large grass area where you can play football, rugby ,tennis and if you can't find a picnic table get some blankets and have lunch. There is plenty of toilets dotted all over the park. There also places to buy food. You can walk around the park and see Craigtoun mansion House/ hospital from behind a fence. Just a shame no one has renovated it yet. There's also a nice walk round the pond to see small waterfall. If you have walking issues the paths are smooth but there is a tractor with carriages but I'm not sure what days it runs.

Craigtoun country park is a nice park! It's very large and wide. So much facilities for both kids and adults to have fun. Boat ride, train ride, bike ride, and some more. It's a very big park and has so much capacity. I had a good time here. I enjoyed the boat ride most especially. Nice park.

Lovely park, free to visit but rides on the train etc will cost you £1,70 or you could buy a day pass. Cafe has hot and cold drink or ice cream. A very good afternoon out.

Amazing place. Free parking and entry (donation recommended). Lots of things to do, especially as a family. Some activities free, others pay but are very reasonably priced. We went here later on in the evening (5pm) to walk the dogs, and it was just emptying after what looked like a busy day. Lovely and peaceful walk round and when we got back to the car park about an hour later it was nearly empty. Will have to go back during normal hours to try the cafe, and maybe boat and mini golf 😉

What a place to be with kids. Everything to do. We did the go-karts, boating, crazy golf, bouncy castles, adventure playground, cafe and zip wire. Kids loved it and was there all morning. Lots to do and its free. Just have to buy tickets to go on some things but ver reasonable.

This was a lovely FREE country park to visit. I am only taking one star away as not all the facilities were open when we visited. The Scottish half term is different to the English one unfortunately, which was a little disappointing. However there were still things there that we were able to use. We spent quite some time looking for all the seven dwarfs and posing with all of them. There was an adventure playground, a zip wire and the trampolines were fun. The gardens were absolutely beautiful and well maintained. There was a coffee shop open. The toilet facilities were clean. Definitely worth a visit and would be even better if everything had been open, but that was just our bad luck.

Great park for everyone,dog friendly,kid friendly. Lovely gardens to wander round and beautiful plants showing off there colours. Plenty parking although busy at times.

Best park in St Andrews for family fun. Lake with row & pedal-boats, bouncy castles, kids cycling, trampolines, off road bikes, mini-train, tractor rides, bbq benches, gardens, food stalls, especial events and so much more. Kids love it and adults enjoy too! Must visit, highly recommend

Had such a lovely day here over the Easter weekend, bit muddy but that can’t be helped! Staff were very helpful particularly a young chap I think his name badge said Lucca, he was so polite and even tried to help someone locate their phone they’d dropped in the pond! We also enjoyed the tractor ride and just wandering around the beautiful grounds, this is a great place with or without young children. Very much hoping the Dutch Village is restored in the future as that would be an amazing feature. Car parking was well organised, busy but will be even better when new car park is up and running too, i especially like the fact that it is free parking and free entry so you only spend what you want to.

Many happy childhood memories here and was wonderful to visit with our kids for the first time. Beautifully well kept park with ample parking. All day wrist bands are fantastic value, £33 in total for a family of 4. Lots of activities to keep everyone entertained including the wee train round the park, pedalos and rowing boats and crazy golf. Even without the wrist bands there are still plenty of free things to do. It was a shame to see the Dutch village inaccessible and in a state of disrepair and the putting green definitely needed its grass cut but understand the park is run by a friends group and the cost of running everything and keeping it looking so nice must be considerable. Would highly recommend this lovely park and we will definitely be adding it to our annual schedule for summer days out.

Huge lovely, tranquil park, free parking and entry, and plenty of activities and picnic areas. Other parks, take note. You only need to walk a few hundred metres here to find a picnic bench and a bin. That alone puts Craigtoun head and shoulders above others.

Lovely day out, with lots to do. We especially enjoyed the big pedalo boats, playground and the go karts. If you are heading for the cafe definitely share a portion of chips rather than one each. Or even better, bring a picnic. There is a free tractor/train that shuttles you between the entrance and centre of the park. You can access some activities for free and it's free to enter/walk around. For some activities (eg pedalos) you need a wristband or ticket. Really beautiful and well maintained park. Would recommend.

Really good, well maintained park located close to St Andrews. There is lots of open space plus large play areas, so something for everyone. There is also some extra activities such as a boating pond available at a small cost. Lots of parking and a cafe/food vans available.

Fantastic day out here with the grandchildren, 4 and 6 yrs old. Got the family ticket just cost £33 and they could go on all the rides, golf etc as many times as they wanted. They done the gnome trail and we ran out of time getting back to the shop with their forms and to get their treat for completing. It was closed, but the woman kindly opened up for them to give them their treat! The kids absolutely loved their day out!

For £13 per adult, I expected a bit more for the price and a longer experience. Price aside, I enjoyed looking around, seeing the animals and learning new things. The enclosures and tanks looked well maintained and the animals seemed to be satisfied with their surroundings too. I have no complaints about the staff either - all were friendly. Didnt have time to catch a feed as we had to get going but I appreciated that the ticket allowed you to come and go for the entire day. I thought the gift shop was decent too.

It was lovely but not really suitable if you have any mobility issues. My elderly mum found it difficult as there are a lot of steps. However staff are very friendly and I enjoyed the experience.

The aquarium is small, a lot smaller than I expected for the £12 ticket price, it took us less than an hour to walk round the whole thing, and that was stopping at everything to read and take photos, so we were left feeling somewhat disappointed. That said, what animals are there are very interesting, there's a nice variety. The staff we spoke to were friendly and knowledgeable, happy to chat about the animals.

Great place for the whole family to enjoy. Lots and lots of cool animals like different types of fish (obviously), sharks, rays, seahorses, jellyfish, seals as well as meerkats, marmosets, snails, tortoises and many other. The staff are very polite and friendly. Tickets are valid all day and can be used multiple times a day. A special thank you to the St Andrews Aquarium for having baby changing facilities in the ladies and gents toilets; something that's very uncommon but should be standard everywhere. The aquarium isn't too pram/buggy friendly as there are quite a few steps here and there. Unless you have a lightweight buggy I'd recommend using a baby carrier. We'll definitely be back as we had a great time.

There are two floors with lots of kinds of fish, but also arachnids, a caiman, penguins, a chameleon, and more. We were there for 55 minutes and saw it all; then had lunch in their cafe. Witnessed feeding time with a worker explaining stuff well. Topped expectations being it's not a big city.

Good with kids. Friendly staff. I'd knock a star off for it being small but there's not that many touristy things to do in st andrews if you don't like golf. And they have penguins. We enjoyed it and managed to fill in a fun couple of hours there. They were very good with telling everyone the feeding schedules and you can leave and return on the same day once you've bought your ticket if you really want to get your moneys worth.

Great place! We had a great time doing the meerkat feeding experience. Staff were absolutely great, we showed up and made our way around the aquarium a little too early but the staff managed to make the feeding time a little earlier. The feeding experience itself was great despite the meerkats diet being peas and live mealworms 😖 The keeper was super knowledgeable and friendly too. Overall great experience!! Only complaint would be the (lack of) parking. We went on a bank holiday weekend so maybe it was just the timing but we spent a fair amount of time trying to find a space. Not really the Aquariums fault but just a warning ⚠️

A great selection of marine animals and reptiles. Great for the kids but there are stairs as there are about 3 different levels. There are presentations when feeding some of the animals and also lots of information about the animals near their tanks/enclosures.

Lovely attraction, not big but perfect for young children, with enough to keep them occupied. Best for those who are walking or in a baby carrier as not buggy or wheelchair friendly (set over several levels with no lift due to age of building). Lovely friendly staff from reception to the animal keepers who explained about the animals really well. Really appreciated the all day ticket: you can leave and come back in later in the day, which we did.

Brilliant afternoon out for the young and old alike. Kept my 3 year old grandson entertained the whole time, staff really helpful, and so much to see. Watched the Seals being fed, and enjoyed the talk on them, the went to observe the Meerkats being fed. Parking is plentiful and is a short walk away. Omg what a location too, right on the edge of the sea. Beautiful 😍

Relatively small much like other aquariums in Scotland but can still easily spend 90 minutes looking around. Nice to have other animals along with the fish. Great layout and I think the cost to get in is very reasonable, cheaper than other aquariums.

Fabulous place to visit, although because of the location and age of the building there are lots of stairs to negotiate. Thankfully that wasn't a problem for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit again. Animals all very healthy and clearly well cared- for by friendly and knowledge staff who are always happy to answer any questions. There are also lots of very informative display boards about the animals which help to raise awareness in particular about ocean plastics pollution. This is a great place to bring kids, but please don't complain about the ticket prices - it's an independent family business, not part of a chain, and your ticket is a day pass, so you can come and go as you please all day. Money well spent, in our book!

Great visit but could be more accessible even just clearer about easiest way in and out for those with mobility issues. So going in at the side there is a ramp for the gift shop and in there a way in to the aquarium there's about 8 steps down to the meerkats and rays and sharks there are some other stairs but going this way the 7 or 8 is the worst. So if you go in the main door to pay you can come back out turn left and there is a ramp down a level to the gift shop or a flight of stairs straight down too. I think for people with issues staff need to direct customers to use the ramp and enter at the gift shop to keep stairs to a minimum. The actual start is down multiple flights of stairs and as we didn't know about the access in the gift shop then it was a struggle. But it was a good visit a lot in there to see and staff talks and feeds are good. I would have given 5 stars but the access really needs highlighting I am sure it could be improved but well worth the visit.

Went here with my wife and daughter (21 months old). My daughter loved it with a great variety of animals and fish (turtles, sharks, Lion fish, seahorses) the day pass was great too as it allowed us to leave for lunch in town and come back in the afternoon. There's a good gift store with a wide variety of toys and books and the staff were all super friendly and helpful

Nice small but clean and tidy aquarium with a good range of exotic sea life, as well as seals, Meerkats and Marmosets. Interesting talk at the seal feeding to learn about the 4 seals there and how they came up have them, and it was great to see the new family of Meerkats with their few week old babies.

Embrace the blue hues and quiet serenity of this lovely aquarium. While relatively small, it is quite dense and comprehensive in its portrayal of ocean life, from large numbers of turtles swimming playfully in a tank to an array of South American penguins cleaning themselves before leaving barking to the stormy gray waters. Because the passageways are relatively narrow, not a lot of people can move through the aquarium at one time, so try to arrive earlier in the day, before it becomes crowded. The price is £15, rather low for an aquarium but not insignificant, especially considering the small size of the aquarium. If you are living in St. Andrews, I highly recommend purchasing the yearly pass, which pays for itself within 3 visits. While not as iconic as the venerable golf courses or the towering stone cathedral ruins, is aquarium is a lovely place to calm if you need a quiet place to unwind from the chaos of life and marvel at the fluid movement of underwater animals.

We had lunch here on Tuesday afternoon. If you have not been.....where have you been??? This is a MUST when in St Andrews. The views of Old Course and 18th hole are to die for as is the food. The menu is limited but the reason being the quality and taste of the food is just devine....AMAZING!! The hand made burger with potato wedges and oh the pepper sauce....all home made are the tastiest I have ever tasted. The scones are the BEST EVER...to die for. The staff were so friendly and nothing was a bother. I cannot wait to return. Have been telling anyone who will listen to me re the quality and value for money. Thank you for such a fabulous afternoon and my kind pots of pepper sauce to take home.

The golf museum is Fantastic and right across the street from Saint Andrews golf course, it's a must see attraction for any fan of golf. It details the history of golf and the men and women who played the game, memorabilia from the greats of golf and the first golf clubs ever used are on display. Saint Andrews is a beautiful town with many other attractions, and it's a nice day out from Glasgow or Edinburgh.

A place enshrined with the wonder of golf. Though relatively small, it feels like a sanctuary for the appreciation and understanding of the history of golf from its early days on the wild hinterlands of Scotland to its development in the nineteenth century as a popular and widely appreciated game for the wealthy and fashionable attempting to connect with that ancient past. Now anyone can come and appreciate the clubs and balls that contributed to that history. There is a quiet calm and ceremonial serenity to this place that only the presence of centuries of stories and yearnings and artifacts can provide. Note especially the elegance and stylish design of the Claret Jug.

Only 1 member of staff serving on a busy Sunday lunchtime. Totally run off her feet, unable to clear tables and there was food unavailable. Very pricey for the portion size but you pay for the location and the beautiful views.

If you visit St. Andrews, you must visit the R&A museum. I learned much about the history. Even got to putt with a 1800s putter n ball.

AWESOME place with extremely friendly staff. We couldn’t have been treated nicer, or been better informed. The sweet ladies behind the counter even gave us recommendations for lunch based on a bunch of different criteria, and spent time telling us things we wouldn’t have known otherwise. The museum itself is super cool, and gives a great and succinct history of the game and it’s equipment. The former champion displays with a former golf club, or apparel item was cool to see - they even have a replica Claret Jug that is fully updated in its engravings. Overall we had a wonderful time and were very glad we stopped by!

Great display of memorabilia and old clubs etc. Learned how golf started from two very different games and evolved into today's worldwide sport. Well worth a visit.

This review is for the cafe (I haven’t been to the museum yet). This cafe has an unbeatable location and view over the sea and the course. Great big windows means you get to see something no matter where you sit. The menu is simple with some nice drink options and thoughtful food choices. This may seem an expensive place for tea and a sandwich, but given the location it shouldn’t really be surprising. My sandwich was small but tasted really good, with fresh bread and a generous helping of chicken. Go with the expectation of modest portions of quality ingredients in a beautiful setting and prices that reflect the tourism that dominates the area and you will thoroughly enjoy the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The place was very busy when we arrived and seems popular on weekends all day. Given how busy it was, service was relatively quick. We will certainly be back as often as we can.

A visit back to the botanic gardens, first in 2 years, Sad to see the glasshouses are away, tender plants have suffered. Still in early spring, so not much flowering apart from galanthus, helleborines & the odd marsh marigold A garden in transition, still a gem, but needs investment

Pretty enough, but somewhat small. I think we came at the wrong time of year as many of the plants are not starting to bloom. The main issue is they seem to be closing down the greenhouse and sending the plants elsewhere. This feels like a waste as for many people like me, the greenhouse is the best part! Staff were friendly and helpful and they took good covid precautions, I would just like there to be more if they are removing the greenhouse.

Very well taken care of. Having free entrance to students is a great way to help them get closer to St. Andrews. The variety of vegetation from all over the world is incredible.

Looks quite neglected at the moment but they are in the process of transforming some places. Lochaber farm shop on site Friday to Sunday.. Very nice snacks available.

Lovely peaceful garden,which does lots of conservation, run by volunteers and funded by a charity, small entrance fee of £6,,,,, small shop and takeaway but there's lots of places to sit , indoor or out.

15th of June, and everything was blooming! Beautiful Gardens, plants from all over the world, relaxing lake with the sound of running water and local birds. A herb garden, even a sand dunes ecosystem replicated within! Recommended !!!

A lovely area with so much to see for the small cost. We would have stayed longer but had other things booked for our day but will most certainly be back to see more of the Summer blooms next year as everything was just past

Was alright not as good as other botanic gardens and a bit pricy for walking round a park , shame the butterfly house was taken away back in 2019 as that's only really good reason to go , The orchard was nice and the play area looked good if you had kids , we did see a red squirrel and a deer that was nice

What a lovely place for a day out , they have a great play area for the kids and there are lots of trails to keep the children amused , I particularly enjoyed the poo trail .there are lots of specimen trees and some lovely gardens . Also plenty of wildlife .

Fantastic tour delivered by knowledgeable, enthusiastic guides. It helps when they know and love the whisky they're telling you about. The tour was pretty basic but interesting to see a young distillery with ambitions to make their mark on the whisky landscape. The sampling was well run and informative and I believe Kingsbarns distillery are well on their way to becoming a small but significant player in a crowded but hugely important market. I think, being so young, they're still finding their identity but the quality is absolutely there and I believe they'll go from strength to strength. A welcome addition to the attractions of the East Neuk.

Great little distillery in the Kingdom of Fife. I'm a tour guide and had never been here before. This distillery is great and the staff are very nice and kind. According to the customers I've brought, the guided tour was quite interesting. What it makes it worthy is that they do not export this whisky to other countries which makes it quite exclusive. They do ship to some countries tho. I would definitely recommend this whisky distillery to more customers.

We spent a fantastic day seeing the Kingsbarns Distillery and Visitor Center. Ronnie, our tour guide, was outstanding and answered all of our questions about the distilling process and the distillery's history and manufacturing process. There are some exceptional examples of lowland whisky created by a new local label; I look forward to following the brand's growth.

We did the gin school experience for 2 and became gin distillers for the afternoon. A fantastic session led by Dot & Dan who were very knowledgeable. Lots of gins to taste and you get to create your own 70cl bottle to take home. Thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent visit. Bought our parents the distillery tour and lunch for their Christmas. They loved the tour, the guide was excellent and lunch was great. Soup and a pie with a drink and crisps. The staff were excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. A lovely setting and great modern facility.

We took the Dream to Dram tour with Iain and had just an absolutely lovely experience. The tour immerses you into historical context, provides you with a scent reference and taste of the heart, and finishes highlighting the modern day approaches that follow you all the way to the tasting room. In the room, we had 5 drams of what will eventually become the core expressions that had a wide range of flavor, depth, and character. Simply a superb experience that left us actively wanting to take a few bottles home rather than feeling obliged to purchase.

Very interesting and informative tour of the Gin experience. If you are driving and unable to sample the Darnley's that is made here at Kingsbarns , drivers get a little set of takeaways. A very knowledgeable host whose name is Dan gets top marks well worth a visit.

Excellent tour! Very inviting. Don and Neil were our guides. This is a new young whisky. We had a taste of some 7-year Dream to Dram. Their product, made with two types of yeast and no peat is going to barrel age very well. Highly recommend this tour if you are visiting St Andrews or nearby.

During my recent trip to Kingsbarns Distillery and Visitor Centre, I was impressed by their outstanding experimentation. Their whiskies possess a delightful smoothness that has earned them numerous prestigious awards. In particular, the Kingsbarn table Whisky is an absolute must-try. The distillery produces approximately 4 to 5 batches per week, and its captivating history adds to the excitement of the experience. Additionally, we had the opportunity to sample their newly crafted spirit directly from the bottle, and I must say the distinct cinnamon flavor was truly exceptional. Our tour guide : Jainne a huge sought out to her. 💕

I remember this university full of diversity with students all over Europe and the world, but visiting it this year was very disappointing. Unwelcome, posh and classist atmosphere started to dominate the place since Brexit. Only very wealthy Americans and English are able to afford this kind of education. Unfortunately, Scottish and Europeans that are still studying there feel massive pressure for being from a lower class and the university does not do anything about it. (I am not sure if they are aware of this issue or simply ignoring it to get more money from the rich), but if you can not afford to buy designer clothes every week and can't fly to a ski resort in the winter my advice would be to choose more “democratic” university.

St. Andrews is made up of a variety of different institutions and three colleges. The University of St. Andrews has had several notable attendees including, the Prince and Princess of Wales. The Prince of Wales, Prince William was taught Geology by my next door neighbour in Fife. The town really let Prince William be… and town members did not encourage the paparazzi! The town surrounding the campus has many shops, restaurants, a quaint movie theatre, a Tescos, fish and chippie shops along with some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The university is situated next to the 🥶 North Sea and also next to the Royal and Ancient where GOLF ⛳️ was invented. A little over 10,500 students attend the university and if you’re planning on attending and are accepted, tuition can be in the upwards of £25,000 for overseas students, not including room/boarding. By today’s rates, that’s only $28,762 per semester if you’re from the USA. Not that bad if you think about the expensive tuition in the USA. If you live in Scotland and are Scotland based, you may be able to go to the university for free. Imagine that? I would visit the university and walk on the campus and explore the rich history. Check out the oldest living tree on campus. Afterwards, go to Forgan’s or Balgove Larder - a few of my personal favourites - for tea. Then, walk on St. Andrew’s beach and play the Chariots of Fire on your phone. Don’t take my word for it, visit yourself.

The oldest university of Scotland. Just went for a trip to St. Andrews and stopped by it. The marvelous architecture master piece of the building is worth seeing and if you are lucky just sit in the lawns to enjoy the campus life.

Went to this place as part of Eastern Scotland Tour. Nice Uni town with plenty of history. Of course, the famous St Andrews golf course is not far from the town.

An amazing University with many historical buildings; I've never been inside but, by the way, just lookink for... you taste something special...

Gorgeous medical campus. Ample car parking spaces with a rapid charger. The North Haugh is easy to visit with many close golf courses.

We spent the afternoon at Cambo, walking around the beautiful walled garden. There were so many bees and butterflies which was wonderful to see. We also had cappuccino and cake at the cafe as well as buying some flower bulbs and cooking apples. It's also dog friendly (dog on lead). The staff were also very friendly. There's a short walk to the beach, but we ran out of time. Next time. Just a beautiful and peaceful environment, would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic day here. The snowdrops were beautiful and it was a lovely walk suited to almost everyone. We went down to the beach and then had a gorgeous lunch in the cafe. Well worth a visit and a great day out

Amazing garden and delicious cafe with an all vegetarian/vegan menu made with fresh veggies coming directly from the edible garden! We had a really great time at the garden, everything was beautiful and well-thought out! Would highly recommend!!

Beautiful and very interesting gardens in a riot of colours at this time of year. Accessible parking is right at the entrance although the cobbled courtyard made it tricky with the wheelchair. Once over that though, the rest of the gardens were quite accessible and it was easy to avoid the steeper slopes by choosing other paths. The cafe is quite large and although the menu is small, there was a good variety and the food was excellent quality.

These gardens are so very beautiful. I've been twice at different times of the year and the planting is inspiring. My visit this time gave me ideas for a similar pottager garden, something I had never before thought of. The walk to the beach is lovely and the beach itself presents a great opportunity for a long walk or simply sitting on the rocks contemplating the sea. A firm favourite with me.

Lovely gardens, with a less formal feel than many others. The smells of the flowers around the garden were fantastic as well as being beautiful to look at. Cafe has indoor and outside seating and dogs are welcome, as they are in the gardens (on leads).

Probably the best walled garden I've ever visited. I go there multiple times a year and it is always beautiful, no matter what season. The cafe is also always outstanding, and I'm not vegetarian.

BURN winter event @ Cambo Gardens - first time @ Cambo. This event in the Walled Garden was beautiful; simple but stunning. Well manned with volunteers keeping it all running smoothly and safely. A piper appeared throughout the evening and was very popular. Once admitted, you could go for a walk in the woods (will have to come back for further exploration!), get down to the beach or spend as much time as you wanted in the woods/garden/greenhouses/cafe/gift shop, etc. I found the staff & volunteers were all very pleasant, friendly and helpful. I had soup and fresh bread in the cafe....oh-so-tasty! And very reasonably priced; I was around £8 for soup, 2 slices of homemade bread, plenty of butter and a large tea. Indoor as well as outdoors sitting areas. Oh and bonus if you've got a dog.... they're allowed everywhere 🐕💗

We have visited many gardens, but must admit Cambo is one of the best maintained and beautiful. Make sure you have plenty of time to visit, unfortunately we didn't have as much as we wanted. We didn't manage to visit coffee and gift shops. Gardens is absolutely stunning. we visited in mid of September but it was still a lot of going on lots of blooming, beautiful decorative grass, which I absolutely love.

It's a nice visit, for £7 I thought it was pricey for the time of the year as nothing was in bloom -apart from the snow drops, which weren't THAT impressive. It was a nice walk, just a bit too expensive for what it was

One downside was not enough signs showing you the different areas to visit. We had a lovely few hours here, my son did the walk down to the beach, whilst I had a lovely coffee ( I walk with sticks so didn't know if i could walk that far), then we had lunch. The servers were polite and friendly, and the young boy couldn't be more helpful. The cafe was excellent, lovely choice on the menu. I had the cheese and Leek tart with tomato and chard soup. It was all lovely and fresh and delicious. Couldn't fault it. would definitely recommend here.

Beautiful and stunning gardens in a unique placing. Great to visit in summer with the blooms, bees buzzing around, the stream babbling away and find one of the many benches and just relax for a little while. Lovely cafe that serves really fantastic food. Even the simple toasties were packed with flavour and salads that deserve to be main meals themselves.

A fascinating array of artefacts, pictures and video displays. We were there with primary age children. who were there for a mixture of plays and teaching. A highlight on a sunny day, as this was, was a visit to a roof gallery, and a telescope and a stunning view of St. Andrews, across the bay

A nice mix of activities for children and interesting facts for adults. Like the interactive displays and best of all our was free, makes it a nice family day out that doesn't cost the earth.

Nice place to learn about St. Andrews University. Ideal to visit with children: there is a lot of fun stuff for them to do. They can play scientists, artists or explorers. The infrastructure is stunning. So is the view from the upper floor. Free entrance. Staff is super kind?

It is a very nice museum. It is free which is always great. I really enjoyed the exhibitions and the museum shop. They also have a very clean bathroom as well. I would like to come back again.

I spent around 2 hours here with my 8 and 10 year old. It was pretty quiet yesterday, but there is a nice atmosphere around the place. It was definitely worth a visit, there was alot of interesting pieces to see, and one of the ladies who worked there pointed out a few interesting things that me and the kids had not noticed. Also if you like books then there are some very nice ones available in the shop. I bought a couple new books for the kids, aswell as a couple for myself. Would highly recommend.

This museum exudes the quiet, studious atmosphere perfect for inquiry and contemplation. 600 years of history line the walls of this museum, making it feel much vaster than it is. Paintings of the university from centuries past exist close to a basilisk costume from Harry Potter made by the creativity of the students. As a St Andrews student, exploring this museum as the glamor of looking upon venerated and ceremonial artifacts, but even those with no connection to the university will likely enjoy the sheer variety displayed here, including experimental films paying homage to the history of flight and old scientific records from the pre-industrial era. Also, the rooftop overlook provides one of the best views of St Andrews and the seas beyond.

Worthwhile visit. Good historical data on display about St Andrews University. Beautiful view from the roof top. Small enough to walk through in less than 30 minutes. Lots of university merchandise on sale. Pleasant and welcoming staff. Free to enter.

I had a great time with Hugh Jones (one of the instructors) his knowledge was very helpful and more importantly for me we had a good laugh and really enjoyed the lesson that he provided. Certainly feel I have improved and definitely have alot more knowledge after the lesson. Will certainly be back again. Also Michelle at reception is lovely and her homemade shortbread was delicious . Visited today with my partner for a couple's clay pigeon shooting experience. We met Neil at the lodge and he was lovely from the off. He's very experienced, patient and has an intuitive style of teaching. He was funny too which was a bonus. We tried several different stands and the views were incredible. Afterwards we stayed for a while to chat and visit the shop next door. The setting's just beautiful. We'll both be back with friends next fine! Thanks for an awesome day...

We had the best time at our clay pigeon shooting introductory lesson. Caroline our instructor was amazing and so patient and a great teacher. We had 3 adults and a 14 year old in our party. We would recommend this to anyone and the drive to Fife was just beautiful!

Had a great time first time shooting and the gent who took us (Gordon) was a great help showing us how exactly to aim and shoot. Even went the extra mile by standing behind us to look down the barrel to let us know where we were going wrong and took a more hands on approach to teaching us. Highly recommend!

Good variety of targets and well laid out. First time shooting Skeet. Challenging and fun. Great day out well worth a visit.

Our 14yo son had a fantastic morning clay pigeon shooting. From the friendly welcome and local knowledge from Michelle (and the Bakewell tart!) to Hugh's expert advice whilst teaching. After a few pointers he managed to hit around 5 clays so was super pleased with himself. Thanks for a great session both, it was the highlight of Owen's holiday!

A great day out firing at clays. Great instructors for the novices and different type of shooting scenarios, catastrophes across, away, towards and along the ground, which was the most difficult to hit. Safety taken very seriously. Very enjoyable.

Charlie & Michelle were an absolutely lovely team, so welcoming and friendly. We definitely will be back for archery round 2 Charlies teaching method was relaxed and incredibly effective. I never expected to hit the target, but he had me on point in the centre several times. Amazing teacher

Went here for an introductory lesson with my brother. We where very pleased with the experience. Our instructor, Hugh, was very patient with us and did a great job coaching us total beginners at shooting. I think we both learned alot would definitely do it again.

We had an introductory lesson with Catherine who was fantastic, a wealth of knowledge and she make us feel very comfortable. 10/10, would recommend her to anyone!

My Standard lesson was conducted by Hugh who was excellent and he guided me through the whole procedure with patience, explaining everything clearly and I would highly recommend him to anyone wishing an enjoyable experience of clay shooting. Sandy

A modern theatre that nonetheless exudes warmth and charm. Though sleek and glassy, it also has wooden panels filled with warm tones that makes sitting here feel quite intimate. If you have an interest in local theater, this is the place to go. Even if you do not, you should go here anyway because it echoes with life and conviviality, with the creativity of people sharing ideas and thoughts. It feels especially cosy at Christmastime.

Easy to find, very comfortable seats. I was in the Question Time audience but my questions didn't get picked. I wanted to discuss the mass exodus of nurses from the NHS. Disappointing but for my preservation probably just as well!!!

We went to the Byre to see "Enchanted April" on the second night. First entering the theatre, we had a warm reception. We arrived early, so we went downstairs to enjoy a cocktail. The production was so well done. We really enjoyed the ensemble. Everyone/Everything was excellent.

I have not yet had the opportunity to see a show here, but I can attest to the fact that their very large lobby is a lovely and peaceful place for laptop work and study. Free wifi is available in both the upstairs “study lounge” and the downstairs community lounge as well. I loved the wide range of offerings mentioned in the season book—can’t wait to see a show here as well!

Lovely little theatre. About 250 seats and all nicely stepped so no restriction on the view. Cafe / bar area not open yet because 9f Covid which was a shame but the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Free parking outside and nearby for evening performances. Great show about Opera highlights, very well put together.

Watched NT Live's excellent performance of The Crucible. Only fly in the ointment - parking on South Street limited to a maximum of 2 hours but the play is 3 hours long, so I had to move my car during the interval. Byre management need to sort this issue with Fife Council.

Small but well designed and maintained auditorium. It has a bar also. Seating arrangements, lighting, sound, and stage management are very good. Overall, it is a nice place to witness various stage shows with family.

Lovely theatre. Not badly priced. Good ice cream available in the interval. Was a mistake to sit in the front row with smoke machines

Went to see the panto which was fantastic. Full of humour for children and adults. Great service from the staff and reasonably priced drinks during the interval.

It's a fabulous building, full of atmosphere, warmand a friendly feel. The stage and theatre is just intimate and perfect. The other event rooms are comfortable too.

Ultra-modern theatre with a variety of spaces for studying and events as well as watching performances. This place hosts all sorts of groups that perform all sorts of shows, from student theatre to film screenings to pantomime. Normally the ice cream shop across the road sets up a stand inside during the intermission!

Lovely walk with dogs along this beautiful beach. Small carpark with payment, after 2 hours. Wild Scottish Sauna overlooking beach in a perfect location for a dip in sea!

Lovely beach! Visited on a Sunday afternoon in August and it wasn't especially busy. 2hrs free parking or pay and display.

I had seen some YouTube videos on this beach and decided to go on a Saturday. The temperature on that day was around 25 so there was definitely a chance that it would be packed but we still went ahead. The road was good to reach there but to reach the parking there’s just one way in an one way out and it’s very difficult to see if someone is coming from the front. To get to the parking we had to reverse multiple times and on reaching we were told that there wasn’t a place but somehow we managed to find some place The beach itself is magnificent. The water is clear and the weather was amazing .It was good to see so many people enjoying themselves. The toastie shack serves some of the very best toasties so definitely visit it if you happen to go here. Apart from the parking niggles I thought it was an amazing beach. Get there nice and early to get a spot and you can easily enjoy a nice spot on the beach. The beach has enough spots to walk if that’s your thing but we were famished and decided to put down our beach mat and enjoy the sun

Wonderful, clean, extensive beach with clear waters. Great place to exercise dogs. First two hours parking is free. On site toilets are clean and well kept . There is an eatery (toastie shack) but it's seldom open? Think perhaps only Thur-Saturdays?

Beach is fantastic. Clear water and very clean. Adequate parking which you can pay to stay at for 24 hours. Few campervans and space to camp overnight. Toilets on site which was great. Watched the sunrise as the green keepers were out early at 0400.

Nice beach with good parking, usually a snack van there too but was closed when we went, toilets there seemed modern and clean. Managed to get a really nice part of the beach to myself on a quiet day and it was lovely.

Wonderful beach for families with sand and rock pools. Toilet facilities excellent. Food available from the Cheesy Toast Shack. Parking limited so arrive early or park near the town and walk down the hill.

Excellent beach, enjoyed a good swim there yesterday. Public toilets were clean and there is a good snack van.
