The caves are impressive. Everything is built up so it is as comfortable as possible. Gift shop was nice, parking was free at least when we went. My only complaint is it is not accessible ♿

Very interesting site. Crowds limited and well managed allowing room to move at your own pace, take photos and listen to the commentary. Download the audio guide prior to arrival to save others waiting behind while you sort out your issues. Make time for the virtual reality experience. It is short but very entertaining. Beat the crowd on the tourist train by booking an early spot.

Makes for an excellent half day visit! The caves are fantastic - huge, and with a very interesting tale of how they were found and of the people who lived there in prehistoric times. A tour of the caves will take about 40 minutes to an hour, but there is quite a bit more to see and do. The virtual reality show is definitely not to be missed!

Totally fascinating caverns! It's a good idea to ensure you have the audio guide downloaded & ready to play. There are many steps, but there are some benches to rest along the way. It's quite warm deep in the cave so you won't need your coats.

Large parking lot - price 2 euros (pay with coins when leaving) The cave is very well equipped, safe and very cool. You need to download the audio guide and listen to the information on your own according to the numbers that are clearly visible in each hall. Entrance costs 17.50€ at the entrance or 15.50€ when you buy online. It is possible to visit the cave for free... every day there are 60 free tickets for 09.30. What an amazing place! Beautiful deep caverns full of surprises! The chambers get more stunning as you walk through. It's worth a visit to the VR area. This really enhanced our visit, and the restaurant was super, too. It was quite busy so would recommend booking in advance.

Loved our experience here. I had never visited a cave like this and was really impressed. Make sure the audio guide is downloaded to your phone before in full because there won't be wifi in the cave! They try to take photos of you and a tourist item and have you buy it at the end. If you don't want it anyway just refuse the photo at the beginning

By far one of the most exciting place I've ever been. It's a giant natural cave completely hidden from the ground. Highly recommended. There wasn't so much queue but tickets can be purchased online. Remember to download the guide before getting down the cave. obviously there is no internet connection down there. Not for people with disability.

I had a decent experience. The cave formations were interesting to see, but I felt that the lack of storytelling detracted from the overall experience. It was a bit difficult to fully appreciate the history and significance of the cave. That being said, the natural beauty of the cave formations is still worth seeing and they are magnificent, and if you're in the area it's worth a visit. However, if you're looking for an immersive and educational experience, I think there still needs a lot to be done.

Awe inspiring caves - gigantic structures, better than expected. not accessible for wheelchairs or buggies. Lots of steps. Nice gift shop and restaurant with great views afterwards. Train to and from the caves - timings and stops online were incorrect. Could have more accessible stops on route.

Absolutely must see if on a visit to Malaga, the caves are astonishing, photos can't capture the intricate beauty of this natural work of art. The virtual reality room experience was amazing. Toilet facilities are clean and the view from the restaurant located on site is breathtaking.

Too long queues. Got train up and back €4. Too far down obviously have to climb back up very steep steps. Lots of people sweating like a fat kid at an all you can eat buffet. No mention of this for us "young uns" . In my opinion €18 entrance fee is far too much. The sales person said" including the train there and back and doing the caves should take 2 hours. Train ride 15 minutes, inside Cave no more than 7 minutes. Train ride back 15 minutes.

The Cueva de Nerja caves are known for their stunning stalactites and stalagmites, as well as the prehistoric cave paintings. It serves as a popular tourist attraction and a site of scientific interest. Plenty parking in February and the caves were warm enough lots steps to climb so won’t be suitable for those with breathing issues and mobility issues - there is a virtual reality show in a building to right of ticket booth please don’t miss this absolutely amazing show you actually feel your taken back 40000 years I personally wish I’d gone into this before entering caves as it gave you a better understanding of the actual caves - beautiful restaurant botanical gardens and toilets - little picnic area in gardens the entrance fee is excellent value at approximately 17 euros

Great place to bring your family. There are plenty of things for kids to do beyond just the cave, which was interesting. The second chamber is pretty cool. But there is also a restaurant and activities for the whole family. It was very clean and well organized.

A must visit attraction when you're nearby. A spectacular cave with plenty of unique elements. What's interesting is that this cave was discovered not so long time ago. It also has very nice facilities, including a playground for kids (probably the best one in Nerja).

Simply stunning and awe inspiring place to see. The huge rock formations have to be seen to be believed. And to think it took millions of years to look like that. Audio guide or no audio guide it’s a fabulous photo opportunity. Acres of space to move and well lit. Well priced too. And you get a nice photo to take away. Nice walking distance to Nerja.

Wasn't expecting this at all!! You really go deeper and deeper into the cave and it's fascinating to stare at the cave structure. For me, I really enjoyed it but I did have to adjust for the first 5 minutes because I felt somewhat claustrophobic, however, once you do down further there is a lot of space. Do not do this if you have any issue with stairs, you will be walking down and up a lot of stairs. It's also quiet hot in the cave so dress appropriately.

Absolutely incredible sight to see! I was hesitant in going as I thought a cave system wouldn’t be as fun but I was completely wrong. The cave is massive and is really beautiful, a lot of history in these caves since they were discovered and the surrounding areas (Botanical Garden and mountain trails) make it even better. If you are staying in Nerja or even south Spain please go and visit as you won’t be disappointed!

There's no doubt that the caves are impressive. It's worth the trip just to look at the stalagmites, stalactites, and various other rock formations. If you expect to see cave paintings, you will be disappointed. The caves have a cyanobacterium that grows in the presence of artificial light that would be necessary to see the paintings. Were they to light the paintings, the bacterium would destroy them.

The caves of Nerja are a must see while visiting. They are super impressive and I can definitely recommend getting the audio guide as you will hear the history of the place. It has a lot of steps and you will go down quite a bit. I recommend buying the tickets online and in advance. We looked the tickets up online and they cost €15.00, you have to book a timeslot though. We didn’t do that and payed for them directly at the counter and paid €17.00 per ticket. Therefore, I recommend buying them online.

Average €80 entrance price. It was a beautiful cave but I'm not sure it was worth the price for a family of 5. They charge additional for the photo they take just before you enter. But the grounds are kept very well. They have facilities inside the area. Beautiful lighting inside for viewing geological structures. It took maybe 20 minutes to see the whole thing.

Absolutely amazing experience! Booked tickets online that included the train ride from Nerja. Go early in the day if you also want to do the 2 hour hike from the park. We didn’t have time,as there was only one last return train on the schedule at the end of the day. The caves are spectacular. Be sure to download the app so you can listen to the podcast! Really incredible to be underground for so long and see so much!

Overrated, overcrowded, and overpriced! Standing in a que for over an hour in a cave! And on top of that, the personel had the biggest attitude. When taking a picture, we've got rudely being told to move on and if not obeyed to be kicked out. I expected more.. See the pictures of what to expect.

It's one of the prettiest caves I have seen and a great place to visit during the stay in Nerja, however I felt like there were a little too many human changes made to the natural structure of the cave. I prefer a little less lights, stairs, tiles and wooden railings.

The caves are interesting. I could not get the audio guide to use my Bluetooth headphones so I had to broadcast it to the people around me. Not good. Also be aware that if you don't like heights then you might have a bit of a problem. There are several places with 30m drops.

A long wide beach of greyish coarse sand. Plenty sunbeds kept well back from the sea so lots of space to sit & soaks up the sun. pavement cafes, beach bars & amenities are plentiful. Water sports equipment also for hire.

All the Costa del Sol is covered by concrete all the way from Marbella to Nerja, at the end of this beach is where the real costa begins. There is still some nature, rocks, and cliffs left. This beach is certainly a combination of both; some tourist services and beautiful cliffs with unspoiled views.

One of the more popular beaches in Nerja! All the amenities are on the doorstep, Merendaros, a variety of restaurants and bars, small shops and a Kayak business! The beach is very clean as is the sea... We had a lovely day today but chose to picnic as it is quite an expensive area to eat in. Lovely beach, we visited in the off season, early March and it was quiet, not crowded at all and still very warm. Plenty of parking available for free just on the beach, also restaurants opened too, La Baraca was so good for BBQ, and showers to clean your feet going out of the beach. Great beach for pebble combing too and water was super clean!

Clean & tidy, but not a golden sandy beach, quite shingle, full of stones , not great for kids as can't build sandcastles. It's not my ideal. Plenty of restaurants, not so much bars. Quite hilly, not for faint hearted.

Our favorite beach in the whole Nerja region. Why? Look at the surroundings... Besides the beautifully maintained beach area, the backdrop is amazing. No boring strip with buildings, hotels and stores but a Cosy boulevard with mountain hills that makes for really relaxt beach experience. You have to go there to feel the vibe.

Lovely beach with lots to do and different restaurants all overlooking the beach. There is pebbles while walking into the sea so might be useful to wear swimming socks. The waves and the rip currents were quiet strong when we went to go swimming so I would advise to be mindful with children. Depending on where you are staying, there was a steep hill back up to our accommodation so consider this if you have mobility needs. Overall, a lovely spot and I really enjoyed my evening swims.

This was a return for me, I went here with my parents 50 years ago, I remember some. Nerja is a beautiful place full of life. This beach used to be at the end of a goat track. No hotels but it still has charm. Recommend for sure

A fine trail, though disappointing at the end, definitely not spectacular :)The end of the trail is not obvious and can be easily missed! I recommend to start your journey early, we were there at 7:30 and it was perfect, without sun bothering us. If you're going there make sure you have good walking shoes on, with hard sole, otherwise the walk back on these rocks will be unbearable :)

This walk is great. Walking through the stream on a hot day is fab. We've done this walk a few times, and are always surprised when we see young children, its not an easy walk. In some places the water can get quite deep, and you have to watch every step as there's rocks and boulders in the water. In saying that, it's a great walk, takes a few hours, but plenty of places to stop for a picnic, and a great waterfall to see.

Hired elec mountain bikes from Nerja and rode miles up into the mountains to the north end of the Chillar Gorge. Fantastic!

Wonderful adventure, it takes a good 3-4 Hours there, plan on going early morning as it takes the entire day, its wise to wear comfortable trainers, pack a lunch & plenty of water to drink. Wouldn't advise anyone to go if they are unfit or have medical issues as it bcomes rather dangerous at times climbing slippery boulders.

Perfect path in unique nature. Highly reccomended. Just make sure you have water and food. Also comfy shoes, which probably you will have to throw away after this trip. We tried water shoes - managable, but not recommended, felt all stones… No connection. As well no signs, just follow the river. Cars can be left in normal parking, then distance to path start ~15-20min. I saw some cars parked near the path start, not sure if it’s legal.

A fun and beautiful day out with the whole family! Its weird to walk with your shoes in the water at first but the view is amazing :) you gave to be careful and have a good balance. It can be dangerous but you can always turn around when you're done with the walk!

Good way for walking, nice views

It's such an amazing experience to come here, not only for hikers but also for people that really enjoy nature, however be careful when walking this route because you could end up hurting yourself. Also the amount of water in the river or waterfalls you're going to see is going to be different depending in which season you're going to come here but besides that it's pure magic.

A lovely church not far from the Balcon de Europe. Bigger inside than I thought nicely decorated, not overdone. Worth a look when in Nerja.

Little lovely church.

This is a beautiful church which is rich in history and is in the centre of the beautiful town of Nerja. Which has stunning clear waters and the most beautiful views. The church is mentioned in the museum that is only a short walk away which is only three euros to enter. The feel of this place is just magical. I truly recommend a visit.

The most popular church in Nerja where you can find lot of couples, Spanish or not, getting married in this cute place. It's very popular among Irish people whose choose the place in June due the temperature is not really hot but still lovely.

The Parish Church in the Centre of the Town of Nerja it is always a delight to visit the Parish Church of El Salvador Nerja. On Sunday's at 10.30 they have Mass which is celebrated in English, with English readings and hymns. At the other Masses the celebration is in Spanish and filled with families sharing their faith in their own language, with wonderful singing and a prayerful atmosphere. The Church is an old building, developed first when the Moors were driven out of Spain, and has kept the faith through the centuries since. Well worth a visit, or pop in and say a prayer.

Looks impressive but not Roman, there is a noticeboard explaining, was close to a busy road but looks like a pathway underneath, we took photo from the road.

If you are able to, find your way down to the foot of the 'Eagle', touch and feel the 200-year old red bricks!

Cool aqueduct. Not easily accessible and was an old Spanish bridge to bring water into the city

Hidden gem. Read about this whilst having lunch. Only 5 minutes drive from centre of Nerja. Area below the aqueduct is a bit run down but the structure itself is very impressive.

Worth a wander up from town if you don't have transport, about 20 mins easy walk, or stop by car if you do. Beautiful 200 year old aqueduct built for the nearby ruined sugar mill. Good photos from the road bridge but also it is good to walk down to it (and further on to the private beach if you have time). Yes a few homeless people have built tiny shacks nearby but they are friendly and will avoid you. It is 100 times worse walking through a British city centre so don't let that put you off.

Worthwhile stop if you are in the area but not worth going out of your way for. There is parking on either side of the bridge along N-340. You can also drive 5min to "Parking para Cala Barranco de Maro" along a rough paved road in order to make a 5min walk down to the base of the Aqueduct.

The aqueduct itself is very good but the road/parking and walk to it is not very well looked after. As a tourist attraction we felt it was very scruffy and didn't feel safe there.

It’s beautiful and was worth the walk in the sunshine from where we were staying NE of Nerja - but if you’re not that into a walk, architecture or taking photos it might not be one for you - there’s not much around it, but I believe there’s a nice beach nearby that we should have visited in a round trip really. I’ve seen more stunning aqueducts but I liked it. There’s a parking spot if you drive a little way down the street just before the last roundabout you hit ahead of the aqueduct - to the right if you’re coming in from Nerja, where some people drove up and walked to the base - we just walked.

Visited early March after we had visited the caves. We used the caves entry ticket (with QR code) for free entry. We were immediately directed to the 2nd floor. We walked around, and a ramp brings you down to the 1st floor. We were a little disappointed with how little there was about the caves, but thanked the staff as we made our way out. A member of staff quickly pointed out the lift to the lower floor, we had missed. This was much better, and it held lots of relics and information on the findings in the caves. There's a video running in a mini theatre where you can sit and enjoy more background stories of the caves. Obviously, Nerja's pride and joy. A worthy visit

Bought the museum tickets as a package with the caves and train to the caves and Nerja town. The museum has a lot of interesting items in but not too much that it becomes boring. Everything is still spaced out and has a one way system from Covid so you can see all items. There’s also an art exhibition on the floor -2 that’s there until the 16th May I think. If you’re an art fan.

We had already done the cave tour and seen the old sugar plant mill and the viaduct from the road as we walked up from Nerja. But to put all the information and history together it gives you a better understanding of the area and for 3 Euro each it is well worth it .

Very interesting local museum. History and archaeology of Nerja from prehistory to modern times, carefully interpreted and beautifully presented. Only €3 entrance fee. A great way to while away a couple of hours if you're interested in history, I thoroughly recommend it.

If you go to the Nerja Caves you need to check this museum, it will give you more perspective and context about them. Besides that, it’s nice to know more about Nerja and the area, its beautiful little towers used as an alert system around 1500 ac and how and why it was founded. It’s 3 euros and the entrance right now it’s included with the ticket to the caves. Closes at 4pm.

Really enjoyed the museum, also interactive and very high quality for a small town, much better than expected. Has a lot of different eras and topics covered on the history of the local areas and industries, free entry with the caves ticket was a bonus! There was also an interesting temporary art exhibition on -2 floor!

Lovely beach between Nerja and Almunecar. Long walk down (and up after a nice day on the beach) from the parking, but in the summer there’s a small van that brings you and your beach gear down and up again for only € 2,00. Crystal clear water, two nice beach restaurants, mix of small stones and sand, easy to walk on barefoot.

What a beautiful beach, warm crystal clear water. No access by car, you park on the top of the cliff, there are 2 shuttle buses take you down to the beach, at low price(cash). The road is narrow with lots of turns seems like you are in safari trip 😁, we loved the hole experience. Highly recommend.

Amazing beach with clear and clean water. We loved it. It’s a pebble beach and there are 2 chiringuitos. Secluded and far from everything (there’s nothing around and you can only get there with own transport), so you’re truly in the middle of nature. The beach was pretty full (end August) but it was still very calm and had a relaxing atmosphere. There were a few shuttle busses on the way down and 4 around 8:30-9:30PM when we were waiting in line to take it. It’s €2.25 per person round trip. Beware of jellyfishes at times. We also saw wild piggies :) Overall I don’t understand the complains. It was a great experience except when we waited 45 minutes for the shuttle bus, so if you don’t want to wait then make sure to leave earlier before 8PM.

Amazing small beach with mixture of small rocks and sand. The shore is sandy and very seclude, so great to stay with the kids. We were in September and it was very quiet and not crowded. You need to take a shuttle bus (only during the high season and the price is 2 eur per person for a return ticket) or walk pretty long distance to reach this beach.

Cañuelo Playa is a fantastic beach in the nature reserve. Quiet, clean and unspoiled like the commercial beaches. Come early and enjoy a full day in the paradise. Be aware you will have to use a shuttle bus to access the beach since it’s protected from traffic.

We really enjoyed this beach and the restaurant. The bus from the car park costs £2 and is very frequent. We hired a sun lounger for £5 each - there are only 30 or so for hire. The beach wasn't too busy and the water was clean. The restaurant is lovely - good seafood - but it does get full at lunch time. The only toilets are in the restaurant and there are no showers or changing facilities. You have to take your rubbish with you when you leave.

Beautiful secluded beach! Note that the shuttle down only available during high session. Outside those dates you will have to go down by foot, a 30 minutes of a steep and beautiful path between the cliffs, totally worth it though!

It's an old boat on a piece of land on the side of the road. I don't know what it's significance is so I can't comment.

You can see the boat used in the 1980s Spanish TV series "Verano Azul" and in the park nearby there are plaques to some of the actors who appeared in it.

This beach generally won’t be extremely overcrowded as there is only one way to get to the beach and the access road can be difficult to find so it can be a nice quiet place to relax and listen to the crashing waves of the Mediterranean Sea.

This is one of Nerja's lovely beaches. It's 200 metres long, and can get busy. It's down a slope and is close to the Balcon del Europa.

Beautiful theatre/cinema lots of cultural & art exibitions/shows & performances. The cost for a show/ performance is so inexpensive. It is a delight to have such an important facility in Nerja.

A range of wonderful events and artists some even free of charge.

We went to see a rock band Hollee, they were very good and only €10. It is worth checking events there is often a variety of shows all at a reasonable price. Ticket office is open 10 till 2.

Excellent location and really cool building. We were on the 3rd floor and were pleasantly surprised that there was a lift!

It’s nice to have a theatre/cinema right in town. Easy access, comfortable seating. Tickets are always reasonably priced.

Lovely beach area to wander around Nerja. We visited in early March, the weather was amazing but still low season so not so busy. Beach was lovely and clean and water really clear. Some diggers along the beach doing work before the high season sets-in so good to see it’s up-keep is important. Long path along the coast to wander numerous km’s.

Loved this beach, can get very busy. There are bathers from 8am and if you want to hire sun beds you need to go early on a weekday and hire for the week. You maybe lucky late in the afternoon, forget trying at the weekend. There are no activities or places to hire paddle boards etc. It's safe, take sliders or some kind of footwear the sand can be very very hot.

Nice little playa, partly with sand then pebbles, sparred by the tourists where we found essentially locals which was great to blend in as long as you are respectful and talk a bit of spanish (or at least trying to !)

It's a wanderful beach, the water is clear and you can see many fishes. Is perfect also for disabled people. On the beach you can find shower and toilette for free. Enjoy!

A nice beach with life guards, toilets and showers. Close to restaurants and mini shop with drinks and ice creams. Infrastructure for people with limited mobility available.

The Tuesday flea market is great to spend an hour and have a look round. Have a little haggle on stuff you don’t need! Recommend.

Its an experience walking amongst the different shops. There are many different quirky and weird things you can buy here. Beware, if you know how to bargain you'll be fine, if not you'll probably end up paying way more than you should. And also some of the shopkeepers may come forth as rude. Probably the best thing of the market is the booth where they sell spices and herbs where they posses a variety of which you cannot usually find at a traditional supermarket.

Not much to make a big deal with. Lots of clothes, some fresh foods, a few local products and spices. Some local hand made kitchen tools & plates...too expensive for worth.

Sunday is Earthy flea market, boot sale stuff. We're in an Airbnb and picked up some big coffee cups. There were a couple of people selling fruits and vegetables about 1/2 -1/3 the price at stores. Tuesday is Farmer's Market Day. Gonna check it out.

Not so good, think in August it is a little to hot. Was manly people selling old cloths toys & old tools. Few nice stalls but they were few & far between.

Fairly sizeable open air market - every Tuesday. Bit of a hike uphill to get there from the town centre - maybe 20 - 30 minutes on foot. Just follow the line of people heading for the same place.

Simply a beautiful place with breath taking panoramic views at every corner.

Fantastic place! Unfortunately is the bus service the worst in 10 years this years. Grupo Fajardo really needs to learn their task. We changed to Almayate playa after four days waiting for wrecked buses.

Loved stopping here. We crawled our way down a steep trail (only ten minutes) and spent 3 hours playing on a beautiful, almost empty beach. The water was crystal clear. What a find compared to most of the overbuilt coast.

Best view ever, kind owners, and good food.

Park at gravel car park just off the b road. Wait for the little bus, or the cafe owner to take you down the terrifying hillside, or walk the mile down rough paths. The bay is lovely, pebble beach, sheltered, two cafes both good food and drinks, really cheap. Canoes, boards etc for hire.

Small hike beside the restaurant to get to the observation. Absolutely stunning views. Came across a rabbit and even saw a few power paragliders.

Fantastic spot with amazing views out over the Costa del Sol. For those who don't walk as much the view points along the coast will seem a bit of a trek, but you won't be disappointed when you get there. Free parking.

Stunning beach, not crowded, nudism area, clean. We have been to cala del pino, quite big beach, beautiful landscape. we just found a few jellyfishes and there isn't natural shadow, must bring your own umbrella. The path to the beach is steep but enjoyable.

Amazing cliffs and beaches down below. Important to take a sun shade in summer as it gets very hot. Nice local chiringuitos you can go for lunch.
