Very reasonably priced at €10 per adult for the new and old church and to go up the tower. The tower is nearly 400 steps, there are lockers to leave your stuff before you climb up, be warned only one way up and down, so can be a tight squeeze if people are passing, there are three viewing platforms at different levels, the two highest are quite narrow, there is also a stop where the bells are, I really enjoyed this, despite being afraid for heights, but may not be for you if you can’t to heights/narrow spaces. The church is beautiful with lots of info inside

Excellent view from the 3 tower floors if the weather is good. Must be reasonably fit to climb the nearly 400 steps and go around people going the opposite way in the narrow staircase. There's also a carillon and I think the clock mechanism to see. Combo ticket is suggested, it includes the old church and IMO that's nicer on the inside.

Beautiful architecture and pipe organ. One price gets you into the Old and New Church. We went to both and had a cheerful welcome both places. Check website for concerts. History of the royal family is also interesting.

This review is focused on the tower of the church and does not concern the church itself which is a very nice place of Dutch history. Getting back to the tower, I would not recommend visiting to people with claustrophobia. The staircase and the corridors are very tight and the staff does not inform you of this before hand. Moreover, too many people are allowed in the tower at once, making the experience even more crowded and unpleasant. The price is ok, but being denied access to the toilet if you only have a tower pass is unacceptable since your hands will get very dirty when climbing the stairs and holding the railing and the steps above you. Overall, the experience is worth it only for the views, but the other unpleasant factors make the visit not a must do around Delft. As a final note, the toilet situation needs to be solved by the owners, like building an extra toilet at the entrance, or delimiting the access to the toilets in the church by making a corridor for the tower visitors.

It is worth climbing up. However, it requires a lot of effort. Also, the stairs are very narrow, making it a bit difficult with people going up and down at the same time, but the view is stunning.

This is not the best way to spend your money in Delft. This is the church where the Dutch royal family is buried. Sure it is pretty and big and impressive but it’s kinda empty. We climbed up the tower and that was fun for my 9 year old son. The stairs are so small that you have to let people pass going the opposite direction, the views are worth it.

Nieuwe Kerk - a Protestant church in Delft. William the Silent is entombed here in a mausoleum designed by Hendrick and Pieter de Keyser. Since 1584 members of the House of Orange-Nassau have been entombed in the royal crypt. The church is amazing and there is a lot of information available to the visitors. The staff is very friendly.

The tower is an excellent place to get a good view of the city. Though I would not recommend to visit it during crowded times. The staircase is very narrow and there is not enough space for people going up and down at the same time. So you might need to go up and down a bit to accommodate others. The church doesn't have much on the inside.

We visited the Tower⛪️ So I can only describe this. Entrance fee was 6€, which is ok. No lift to the top😎, but more then 300 steps😵‍💫. Very narrow and sometims wooden steps. Tall people have to watch their heads- it can and will be tricky at 3+ situations🥴. You reaches the top via 3 levels, on which you can stop and rest and see the clockwork⏰️. At the top you have a grandios view over whole Delft city. The whole vist took around 30-40 minutes without rush! And it can be very windy at the top🌬

The Nieuwe Kerk is located in the center of the city right opppsite the Town Hall and is a Protestand church bearing a great amount of the local history. It's totally worth visiting when you will be in Delft.

The cathedral is renowned for being the final resting place of several Dutch royal family. Its tower is distinctively high, at around 108 m and also a prominent feature of Delft skyline. The church has witnessed many historical significance and now serves as a venue for great concerts, exhibitions and other cultural events. A must-go destination for visitors if visiting Delft.

It's nice to learn something about the history of the Netherlands and its people. It was my first time to visit the church, we bought a combi ticket to visit the old and new church, also you get to experience going up to the tower and have a 360 view of Delft.

Staff lovely and very helpful, speaking flawless English to us non-Dutch, and the church itself as beautiful inside as out. The displays, films and very modern "information highway" set-up may not be to everyone's taste but told us casual day-trippers all we needed to know about this fantastic living monument to Dutch religious and social history.

The day I came the factory was closed, but we got half price admission because of this. We were able to watch the 10 mins movie on the history of the museum (highly recommend), checked out a room full of the collections from past and present, and watched a painter in action. The garden is small but beautiful. If you want to see the factory, best call before hand. My sister and I spent about 1.5-2 hours here.

This museum is where the heart and hard work of Delft blue. It showcases the history, the process, the intricacy of the craftsmanship and the pride of the masterworks here. They also hold regular workshops for adults and kids so always check their calendar before you decide to pay a visit. Normally I don't recommend people to get souvenirs at museum stores but they have some real nice handmade Delft pieces that you can take home to display the excellence of Delft work.

Friendly, helpful staff. Videos at the beginning of the tour do a great job of explaining the history of Delft ware. It is interesting to see the artisans working, although a little awkward because they do not interact with people watching them. I understand they have work to do. There are some nice examples of their work as you tour, but not a lot. I wouldn't call it a museum. In total, a great way to see the history of Delftware and how it's made.

I really enjoyed my visit here. We paid around €23 for two adults and got audio tours, because they are renovating I felt this didn’t follow the normal order. I love the architecture in the building and enjoyed seeing the factory. I bought a few things in the shop, all in all I spent about 1 hour here before we did the shop.

Very nice museum that talks about the history and production of Royal blue Dutch pottery. Excellent voice guided tour. The museum is a part of functioning factory and workshop. Talking about workshops, you can book a workshop experience for a fee and try making pottery decorations yourself. The visit would take 30 minutes on average.

Loved this place !!! You can put backpacks into lockers and hang up your jackets. It rained when we went so this was perfect. Started with a short movie then you walk through the room’s listening to your audio device. Then walked through the factory where they actually worked. We caught the bus from the station for about 2 euro but I heard you can catch a shuttle bus which costs 5 euro for the day but you have to purchase them from the information centre which is located at the train station. Must see !!

The museum holds such a beautiful history of the famous Delftware. My group had fun visiting the workshop and seeing first hand how Delftware is created from start to finish. Picasso art was also on display during our visit.

We visited with our Grand Circle cruise line group of 130. We loved the museum & factory tour. The gift shop is wonderful.

Gorgeous museum, happy I could finally visit it! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The audio guide offers enough information and keeps it interesting. There is also an audio guide for children. One of the nicest gift shops I've been to, also has a little cafe and parking on location.

If you love the Delft Blue pottery this place is a must-visit. We went with our two kids and the whole place was stroller friendly, right up to the exit. The two animations at the beginning were really well made and we could see the history and the evolution of the pottery process upto the creation of the current factory. We just felt the price was a little high for the number of collections they have. Perhaps add a few more. All the staff in the museum and the cafeteria and the boutique were really friendly. The cafe has a delicious carrot cake too that you must try.

Had a nice visit to this museum! The audio guide is included in your ticket (you can either use their set or your own phone) and there were lots of language options too. I did think the price of the ticket was a little high for the experience, would have like to see it more on the 10-13€ range but was glad we attended. Loved the factory tour at the end too! The staff was all around very helpful and friendly too. Would recommend to others visiting the area!

The movie about the history is split into 2 parts and both of them are beautiful. During the factory tour you can see the experienced craftsman in action. And the color transformation from black to blue is just awesome.

Great museum showing the art of making Dutch Delft Blue porcelain! There are audiotours available and sometimes even a guide for groups! The museum is not very big so you can see everything within 1,5hrs. There is also a small restaurant where you can eat/drink something.

Lovely museum. Great history and the audio guides and films were excellent. Bus service from Delft and Rotterdam stops right outside. There is a nice giftshop and excellent cafe.

This is the museum/shop where world famous bulge Delft ceramic objects are made. Another reason to pay a visit here is the temporary exhibition of pottery works created by Picasso. It is small but exceptional. Highly recommended.

It is worth visiting if you like pottery process and want to see the whole production process. Traditional way of creating unique Delft Blue pieces. Really inspiring. Very interactive. Good to visit with children. Picasso collection at the end.

A gorgeous museum! It’s so nice to walk through the history of Royal Delft and observe how it’s changed over time. Later you walk through the production area and can observe how the artist hand paints the ceramics. One thing I wish I’d known is they accept the Museum Card so if you have one, you can save yourself around €18. Overall highly recommend visiting, I came to Delft on a rainy day so it was a perfect location to visit. Be careful at the gift shop, there’s so much gorgeous stuff you’ll want it all!

Oude Kerk (Oude Jan) - a Gothic Protestant church in Delft. Its most recognizable feature is a 75-meter-high brick tower that leans about two meters from the vertical. The church is open to visitors and there is a lot of information about the interior.

This iconic monument, also known as Oude Jan, has an impressive age, being built around 13 Century. Here lays the grave of Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, the inventor of the microscope and discoverer of microscopic life (the cells).

This is the best church to visit. The information they gave you is incredible! You can spend hours in the church discovering the whole, long history of this incredible church. Also, look from outside, the church is tilted, really cool. The church is rhe resting place for over 400 super rich people from that time. Don't forget to walk the tower!

The church was a surprising pleasant visit. Although Dutch Protestant churches are usually quite bare and just make me remorse the iconoclasm this one features a lot of information on the history which makes it interesting nonetheless. There's also some prominent men who rest here, Maarten tromp, Piet Hein and Johannes Vermeer for example. Next to this the organ is quite extraordinary.

Architecturally interesting and full of history it stuns almost as much as it’s predecessor. See some famous gravestones, including Vermeer, and lovely stained glass. Admission price reasonable when bundled.

I loved visiting it, very informative pannels and explanations. Vermeer is buried here. There was also a choir concert and they played the organ. With the same ticket you can visit the old and the new churches.

Nice museum to visit and learn about Vermeer paintings and techniques. There is an audio guide available included with the tickets, which makes the visit more enjoyable. There are no original paintings displayed but all the copies are in excellent quality. The -1 floor is about Veermer's history, the 1st floor is about Veermer's paintings and the 2nd floor exhibit pnotos and clothes with Vermeer paintings themes. On the ground floor there is a gift shop with good products and reasonable prices.

I recommend the place for Vermeer lovers! this place exceeded my expectations!Copies of all his works are arranged in chronological order. One of the most important things in his art is the light. There is a very good demonstration of the use of light in his art!

We visited the day before going to The Hague where we saw Girl With a Pearl Earring. Great way to learn about Vermeer, including the history of art during his time, his use of light, his benefactor and financial history, and to see reproductions of his work. A couple interactive activities, too. Good gift shop. Lockers on ground floor.

Booked online but could probably have got tickets on the day as was not busy. Took audio guide which was easy to use. Spread over several floors with lift access. Takes you through the artists life and work. The exhibits are all reproductions which I knew in advance but were very well presented. Vermeer Centre is actually an information center acting as a museum and it is dedicated to the painter Johannes Vermeer. This place is not a museum, since it does not contain any original paintings. There are replicas or photos of original paintings, however, the exhibition provides insights on Vermeer's life and his working methods. You could enjoy audio tour available in several languages. There is a gift store at the ground floor. Building is children friendly, free of charge, highly recommended.

There are no original artworks at Vermeer house museum but they have collected very good information and displayed it smartly. Everything is related to Vermeer. It is not commercial and shallow, it is very tastefully organized.

Although there is no original painting but still worth visiting. You will about Vermeer techniques and hidden messages in his paintings. Tickets are reasonable priced. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Stopped by to get a break from the rain. No actual paintings. Just photos and a lot of background information and period pieces. Some were interesting, others not so much. There are audio guides available on request. There is also an interesting photo opportunity by the famous "Vermeer window". Lovely gift shop on the ground floor. Staff was friendly and accommodating. You will need to leave backpacks in a locker for extra €1.

Very interesting Museum (€9 student) :-) While the paintings displayed are not original (it would be impossible as they are spread around the world and worth a pretty penny), they are faithful reproductions in size and light. The audioguide then provides all the necessary details to understand more about Vermeer and his technique. Different floors have different themes: from the history and paintings, to the secret messages and meanings and then the modern day variations or restoration precess. So at the end I would definitely recommend this museum :-)

Highly recommend to visit. You will understand Vermeer better. Delft is a hometown of the artist. And in the museum you will find not his original artworks but all the explanations of his paintings.

Very glad to have had this experience learning all about one of my favorite painters. Seeing images of all the paintings in sequence with explanations was very useful. A special exhibit about how a restoration was done was fascinating.

This is a great place to get to know the artist who is Vermeer. There are no original paintings but it does take you through his work and much of his life. I appreciated the highlights on the light and the different things Vermeer tried to incorporate in his works and learning more about it. 3 floors with audio tour.

Chaotic museum. Had to backtrack several times, signs are weirdly placed. Some signs suggest a painting that isn’t there (see photo). The best (the Delft master collection) is hidden as a side show. Some weird inclusion of modern women of Delft? What do they have to with the Dutch revolution? Feels like a last minute after thought to satisfy modern feelings?

I had a wonderful experience at the Prinsenhof Museum in Delft. What really impressed me was the flow of the exhibits. The museum takes you through the life of William of Orange, also known as William the Silent, in chronological order. This museum is very rich in its collection though not that big. Still it took me 2,5 hours to see the exhibits and enjoy the atmosphere of William the Silent (Willem van Oranje) epoch. I think that it’s worth including it into your must see list when you are in Delft.

Was nice learning about Dutch history but some things were not true. Eg, the portray of Jesus. Jesus had hair like sheep, curls or coils not straight hair and was definitely not white.

Very nice museum to discover a lot of historical fact regarding Dutch Royal History & Delft history as well as a fair share of great master frames. The museum settings is really great with a special set of light & colours, must do!

Perfect place to learn more about William the Orange/ the Silent and famous painter Vermeer. Finding the entrance of the Museum is a bit tricky as it has almost like a side entrance. Signs are everywhere, so you will not get lost. Airy room once you get in. You will find your way in and greeted by the staff who is handling the audio guide. Coffee shop is available in the premises. Boutique is at site. The entire building is big, so follow the map with matching # on each door of the room, so you won’t miss any of the exhibition. Mind your head on the doorway. Washrooms are available in between the visit. I love how they present the audio against the art, so as the story telling. It was really a lovely visit.

The museum is small and the collections are pretty chaotic. The staff was rude and refused to speak to us in English. We were constantly supervised by them, so we could not properly enjoy the exhibitions. Disappointed

This is the museum you should visit first in Delft. I recommend the audio tour, while it does need improvement it does give a lot of information on certain topics and people.

The museum Prinsenhof is a fun visit mainly for the imprints the events here have left on Dutch History. Its interesting to see a part of history come to life on the famous stairs. The exposition on the uprising are interesting with some beautiful paintings, but not very expansive. Many more stories could be told if the museum wanted. Especially if they did away with the completely random exhibition on some artist the name of whom I have already forgotten.

If you have been already at porcelain manufacture this can be nice choice to discover something new in the city. I found quite interesting the explanation about different style of Delft porcelain. Interactive activities are also cool.

Great place to learn about the local history in a very vivid way that makes you travel back in time, but also to admire, apart from the wonderful paintings, a few very good pieces of the characteristic blue and white pottery in the place their art was born. There is also the option you create your own digital pottery and get it with you in your email. I would totally recommend it if you are visit Delft.

The museum is situated in the Prinsenhof (Prince’s palace) in Delft in the Netherlands. It served as a residence for William the Silent, who was assassinated there in 1584 - the holes in the wall made by the bullets at the main stairs are still visible.

I passed the gate during a WE visit. The eastern gate it is the only remaining gate of the original five accesses to the medieval center. It is pleasant to sit in front of the canal, looking at the boats and the bridge open. The gste It has been restaured at the end of the '60 and currently is used as an art exposition space that you can visit.

This gate was built in the 15th century and is stull used today. If you find it familiar, it is! The Dutch themepark in Japan has a replica. The Oostpoort is the only one of the original eight city gates that has survived from the city of Delft. Around 1840, the other Delft city gates were demolished. The adjacent Oostpoortbrug dates from 1514 and, like the gate itself, is also a national monument.

Town has done a great job maintaining this unique structure. Gate, although historically old, is used routinely getting from one part of town to another. Picturesque. Benches nearby to enjoy the view and watch small boat traffic on the canal or walk to other side for small shops (chocolate, bakery, etc). Glad we stopped there and relaxed. ps: No cost.

The Eastern Gate and that is as far as my knowledge goes on this wonderful monument. Takes you right back into the middle ages, doesn't it?

A superb example of 14th Century Architecture , Shame's the buildings we have that have not stood the test of time. The only remaining of 8 City Gates that acted as a defence for Delft when it was a walled City up to the 28th Century. A truly beautiful part if Delft.

We saw this on our way into Delft and had to go and visit to take photos and take in the ambience. The gate is from time past and offers a superb view of some of the city within. Well worth a look👍

Absolutely stunning architecture that is so rich with history. This is a great 5 minute stop for a photo opportunity. This was one of the few gates that had both a water and land entrance to a city that were side by side. Note, if you're taking pictures, be careful of bike traffic coming around the blind corner.

Eastern Gate is one of the iconic monuments of Delft, the last of its kind dating back to 15th Century. It is still a residence for some people. I recommend visiting it!

Most of visitors can skip this beauty because it is not really in the center. As far as we know Oostport is the last city door from Old Delft.

A historic East Gate located in the lovely Delft. It was built in 15th century as part of the city defensive fortifications. The gate was constructed in a Gothic architectural style and was an crucial symbol of Delft medieval defence system. Now the two towers remain standing and has become a tourist attraction in artworks and photographs.

Located in the center of the city you can not but take a few minutes of your time to admire the ornaments of the building even if the sun is not helping.

Wonderful town hall! This is one of the most beautiful town halls in the Netherlands. The building is next to the town square. The design is very beautiful with the glass with lead and the red window shutters. Also the shield on the building and the text are done very nicely.

It was originally created by Dutch architect Hendrick de Keyser, underwent significant changes over the years, and then was given a Renaissance appearance in 20th century. Several group portraits are displayed at the Town Hall, including portraits of the counts of Orange and Nassau from 1618. The structure with red shutters was built within 2 years from 1618 but the belfry is much older and is made of pricey Belgian limestone. It is an tourist attraction for historical lovers and children to learn about Dutch culture and history.

It's a very famous and central attraction of Delft City and there are lots of cafes and local shopping stores in this area...

I am pretty sure it has long and interesting story and inside it can be impressive but it looks great even from a layman's point of view.

The town hall of Delft, Stadhuis in Flemish, was built in 1629 by architect Hendrik de Keyser. The exterior of this renaissance building is ornate and fascinating, with remarkable stonework and windows with red shutters. I couldn't manage to get inside due to the fact that it was Sunday. I assume that Stadhuis is open during working hours, since it houses the offices of City council.

Beautiful Delft market square.. Surrounded by restaurants, Stadhuis and church. The square also has lot of stalls selling traditional Netherlands eateries and souvenirs.

Very elegant city hall next to the square with lot of shops. We had been there during the evening and it looked amazing!

Great campsite close to Rotterdam port. Lots of activities for the kids like swimming and go karts. Onsite staff were friendly and professional Delft City Centre within walking distance of this campsite as is The Hague. Only downsides are that the camping pitches are quite small and the site was very busy, but overall very good.

Terrific site, well situated just outside Delft, best way to get there is by bike and takes only 7 mins. Toilet block is first class and kept spotless, separate facilities for washing, showering and pooing for both genders. Tarmac roads to access facilities and auto gates. Would definitely go back.

A very well organized camping site. Good clean facilities for showering and all that. Disclaimer, I spent 1 night there, so am not sure what the entertainment facilities were like. It is a 15 min walk distance from the Delft city center, so excellent for a city-oriented holiday.

Great vacation rentals. Delftse Hout feels very close to nature while also being modern. Staff is friendly and will honor all reasonable requests. They made my stay pleasant. If you can rent or bring a bike, that is the best way to travel within Delft. Otherwise, a bus station near the campground is a short walk away. I truly enjoyed my stay here! It's like renting a home away from home!

Didn't stay overnight, but have previously. The site has obviously has had a lot of money spent on a revamp. We believe it also has a new heated pool now. The motorhome aire outside has moved more towards the entrance road, along with a new park entrance, giving improved access. 15 min walk to town centre, also free parking on access road under trees.

We really liked this site. Fantastic facilities for toilet/washing. Brand new. Swimming pool is good enough for a dip but not somewhere you'd spend a day around. You could do that at the lake behind which even has a sandy beach. Easy enough walk into Delft which is a really nice place too. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Can't fault it. Would use again.

Very quiet site even though busy. Excellent and immaculately clean toilet facilities. The site is based in a nature reserve and there are lots of walks and cycle paths right outside.

We are staying in the motorhome park, there are different grades of pitches & we are in the middle tier. Plenty of space & pretty quiet. The on site shop does fresh bread & necessary items. There are loads of walks or rides out from here & there is a bus stop just outside the front gate. Amenities are spotless & put many UK sites to shame. An on site cafe/bistro does pizzas & small meals at reasonable prices 6 days a week in season. Only gripe is that the site closes for traffic tween 11pm to 7am which can limit some trips but is a minor quibble.

We stayed at a camping pitch, check in was easy and well coordinated. The site is 25 minutes walk from town which was perfect, the town is very pretty. Shower block was the best we have seen, modern and clean. Nice little park and basic pool.

Excellent place to stay and see the Netherlands on a budget. Close to highway to everywhere and close to a very cute old town as well as a large park around the Camping to top it off,. What could go wrong. Well , service is sketchy if you stay long but that has a charm as well Overall a super pleasant experience and your monies worth. As the dutch say" aanrader"

Super shady place, did not expect this at all, my son slept on the top bunk bed where he got bitten by insects on his ear and it got infected, not clean at all. Booked this for 4 nights to attend a wedding and obviously it gets late at weddings, came after 11pm and had to park on the street as I was not given access inside the park, next day when I went to get my car the windows were smashed and they took stuff from my car and also robbed a car part! The park can give access to cars with a pin too just like they give ac6to walking people . Never booking again very disappointed

Great place! Quiet, wildlife, trees, lake etc.Schaapskooi, next to it is a free children's farm and a 1euro playpark. The campsite is fantastic, we hired the iglo for a month and we absolutely LOVE it. Very helpful staff and great surroundings. Definitely coming back next year!

Superb ! One of the best campsites we have stayed at. Fantastic toilet and shower facilities, machine washers . All spotless clean. Great location for the bus which takes you into the center in 5 mins (bus stop right outside) onsite cafe / Reception and small shop. Highly recommended . excellent stay!

Lovely site with excellent facilities although I thought 8.50 was over the top for a machine wash. Bread etc available at reception and a small bistro on site. Very helpful and friendly staff and 1.5k cycle ride to centre of Delft. Would highly recommend.

Since our last visit here in 2016 this place has undergone a large renovation. New entrance and large shower/toilet/washing block have been built. The old shower block grounds are dedicated to motor homes and the restaurant is opposite the reception area. Given there are 201 plots here, plus those on the aire, I personally don’t think there are sufficient showers here given there are only 12 in total plus 2 family rooms. Queues,quite often occurred during our stay and I saw men use the ones designated for ladies. With regards the other facilities, the shop was well stocked with fresh bread baked daily. The restaurant was a little disappointing with mainly pizza on offer and not open every day despite, although we were there in April. Nice play area for the children but to claim there is a swimming pool is a bit far stretched. From memory, although it was closed, markers showed it was only 1.3m deep and now more than 15x10 metres. More of a paddle really. Having said all of that it’s in a great location, nice flat pitches and plenty of bird life to listen to. Close to cycle tracks. Delft is a 15/20 minute walk.

Delftse Hout is a well maintained, family friendly campsite, which felt very safe. The site is in close proximity to Delft and within a 20 minute walk. The facilities were new and exceptionally clean. The food at the Brasserie was also brilliant. Would definitely recommend this site and cannot fault it. Will be back.

Stayed 3 nights in the motorhome enclosure, just outside the main entrance. Hardstanding for the vehicle, with an adjacent grass area. Water, electricity and wifi on the pitch. Toilets and showers very clean, with good hot water supply. Small restaurant that did pit a and fries to go or eat in. Easy access to Delft town, where there were restaurants and cafes, servings a wide variety of cuisines. Would recommend wholeheartedly.

It’s a great location in the edge of delft. Cycling nearby in countryside. Lakes sadly often out of bounds due to blue algae. Cities of Rotterdam and The Hague nearby too. The campsite has a nice playground. The shop is quite small, but ok and the cafe is handy. Next door is a childrens farm with water play area. The kids entertainment is ideal for younger children aged 4-8. There is not much to entertain the older kids. The entertainment is is dutch (fair enough it’s a dutch campsite!) In the past the kids club was much better with a large space and lots of more adventurous activities for older kids 8+ such as laser tag, woodwork, campfire and canoeing. It’s a pity they stopped catering for the older kids. The pool is handy but very small and no slides etc.

A statue dedicated to the famous Dutch jurist and philosopher, Hugo Grotius who was born in 1583 and is often referred to as “father of international law”. The statue, created by Dutch sculptor Frits Sieger, was unveiled in 1886 and is located near the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft.

The statue of the prodigious, 16th Century, Delft born Hugo Grotius (Hugo de Grot) is one of Delft reference monuments. It was erected in 1886 and faced the Markt and Old Town Hall ever since.

Monument of Hugo de Groot, a Dutch lawyer that laid the foundation for natural law and the right of access to the sea. This monument is very beautiful on the big square of Delft. It is close the a church and the beautiful tow hall of Delft.

This exposition really surprised me! Entrance was for free and the stuff was so nice, knew so many things about Delft history and everything about that windmill. It was really very beneficial to listen one of the guider who told me every single piece of interesting Delft history (and not only). Also the view on town was so impressive! I really recommend to find 30/40 of time and use it for visit this windmill.

A beautiful family owned wind mill which offers tours on some days of the week. Unfortunately we were a bit late but the experience was very nice. The person working there was very kind and nice, she explained how things work. You can buy flour milled at the wind mill and other stuff as well. Definitely recommend a visit.

The last still standing windmill in Delft! It is still used to produce flour out of wheat, which is then sold to local bakeries and restaurants. The entry is free when it's open and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A must visit when you are in Delft!

A fabulous experience to climb up an authentic mill that is actually used to make flour for local bakery products. The miss is free to visit and you can enjoy a nice view of the town. However, stairs are very narrow.

One of the oldest standing structure of how the windmills if early days used to look like and still in working condition. If lucky and on time you could see the running granary with a very affordable fee and see the grains crushing as the wind blows.

A must visit, go after 1pm for a free tour and finish up by purchasing some of the best flour you have ever baked with. A very child friendly guide made it an excellent day out.

Loved the windmill visit, so much to do! Coffee shop and bakery open at 9, but the windmill at 10am. Grab coffees and pastries, buy some freshly ground flour waiting for the windmill to open. Very steep ladders lead visitors through an educative journey up to a beautiful 360• balcony. The guide is super helpful. Very kid-friendly! Easy to get by bike. Pay what you want.

The 17th century windmill that still works and produces flour. It is supported in the working order and operates 3 times per week. The flour is used by the bakery located in the mill and could be bought along with fresh bread, and pastries. We were on Saturday and were able to climb steep stairs up to the upper deck of the mill. The view is great. Special thanks to local guide who explained how the mill operates and its history. The entrance is free, but you may donate to the team who supports mill and gives tours. Take a look if the blue flag is up and flying the mill is opened.

If you visit The Hague, you are 20 .unites away from this fantastic windmill. We visited the windmill on a Friday, the entry is free, and they accept donations only. We had a delicious lunch at the windmill and walked the stairs to the top of it. We had a chat with the gentleman that works the windmill, fascinating!!!! Also, don't leave without eating the cinnamon rolls made there, with the flour made in the windmill. Also visit their garden. Just like the windmill, the garden is maintained by volunteers.

It was an amazing experience! The entry is free and you can see a real mill learning more about the process from the wheat grain to the flour and so on. There was also a man who passionately told us some curiosities. It's not easy for everyone to go up and down the internal stairs, but if you haven't problems, I strongly recommend to visit this mill! P.S. you can also enjoy a great view of the city ;)

Everything about this windmill is fantastic! Being American, we don't have windmills like this. It was a cool experience to climb to the top. The view of Delft is really nice, even if it is raining. The people in the shop and little cafe were incredibly welcoming and kind. I highly recommend the Dutch Apple Pie! We also bought some pancake mix and banana bread mix to bring back to the US. The banana bread was a big hit, and the baking instructions were super translation friendly. We haven't tried the pancake mix yet, but I'm sure they'll be very tasty. This place would be a daily visit if I lived in Delft or relatively close. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality while we were there!

Beautiful windmill that's still working, worth the walk, 10 min from the bus station.

If you lower your expectations this could be a pretty cool place. I suggest bringing a picnic and finding some shade or using the gazebo to stretch your time there. We enjoyed the exhibit about the refugee housing and seeing the prototypes.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Going inside the greenhouses made me feel as if I entered a different country for a little while. There is a very relaxing atmosphere. Great for both walking around and sitting for relaxation!

I can stay here all day. Just a very beautiful place to be. The greenhouse is mesmerizing (if you don't mind the humidity).

Well worth the visit. Lots of tropical plants, trees, and cacti in the greenhouses. Many things to see and explore.

Not as big as other botanical gardens, but a lovely slice of peacefulness in a city that seems to get younger every day. Do call in advance though, as some parts of the park were closed without any explanation to why.

Delft Botanical Garden was founded about 100 years ago. Each plant in it has a name plate in Dutch and Latin. This will help you find it if you want to plant it in your home garden or balcony. All the trees, bushes and flowers are well-kept. There is a greenhouse for tropical plants, including insectivorous ones, as well as a separate greenhouse for cacti. The territory of the Delft Botanical Garden is small. You will take your time to explore it in an hour and a half. Now inside, there is also a temporary exhibition on how the plants were used to produce dyes and cloth. Detailed explanations in English and Dutch. There is a coffee point on the territory of the garden. And near the entrance to the garden there is a cash desk and a shop where you can buy themed souvenirs and even flowers. Another interesting corner is the apothecary "garden". The information plates show how these plants were used in medicine in the Middle Ages. Two metasequoias grow nearby. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely place to spend some relaxing time. Entrance fee is 6 euros for adults. There is a little cafe but you can take your own food and have a picnic. Lots of benches to sit.

Quite nice, though not as large a botanical garden as one might expect. Interesting plants, and they provide some historical context and (industrial) insights. Stay away from the apple soggy pie and do try the in-house ground (and processed) coffee varieties!

A quiet place close to the center of Delft. It is cute and small. You are surrounded with lovely plants and flowers. I always learn something new.

Hi! I do not recommend this place. Better to visit hortus botanicus in Amsterdam. I was embarrassed of taking there my family. Some plants were dead. Basically nothing special. Chaotic place, waste of time and money.

A wonderful museum with loads of interactive things to do. A GREAT place to take children. I would have liked to see a lot more information signs, often there were fun experiments you could do (airplane wings/boat shape) but there wasn't really a way of finding out what the physics behind it was. If you can find a staff member they will be able to tell you though! We did a 3€ workshop, creating a electrical circuit, which was pretty self-explanatory, and the kids liked it :-)

Well, it's authentic, near the university's botanical garden and robot center and friendly students helping you out. But from overuse (kids!) it also has a kind of worn down feeling about it (sorry guys). I especially liked their summer workshops.

Great and interesting place for having conferences, meetings, summer school, etc. Location is great and easy accessible. Great for kids as well.

This private museum showcases the once-upon-a-time beautiful & opulent residence of a talented Dutch painter and copy artist/painter Paul Tetar van Elven. They hold chamber music concerts at the Purple room from time to time. A pleasant place to spend a lazy afternoon.

I just love these kind of museums, old family homes with lots of paintings. Especially this exhibition about one of the not so well known Dutch female painters (Thérèze Schwartze) combined with the paintings of Paul Tétar van Elven was really good.

Everything is very beautiful. The workers are very kind and they give you a tour around the museum, telling you interesting facts about the place and the artist. There is a room with sketchbooks and drawing supplies for kids to use. There are also some interesting books about art that you can read.

Visited this fantastic museum today! This is a great place which isn't very large but lots of details to see. Also the volunteers in the museum are very nice and passionate. It's a really nice museum worth visiting if going to Delft.

I visited the museum to learn more about Paul Tetar van Elven so I could use it as part of my guided tour in Delft. There's very helpful staff telling you all you want to know of every room and almost every piece of art.

This is a very niche museum, about a person who got rich from investing in the Dutch railway system, and displaying his collection of primarily porcelain and paintings. He had a keen sense of art and copied well known paintings like Rembrant's 'Nightwatch'. In this museum you get a lovely, personalised tour from an expert, who tells you a bit about living in a house during the 19th century. The guide relates stories about the often valuable collectibles and sometimes quirky art, giving an entertaining look at a bygone time. There is some unique porecelain from Japan and China that were brought by the Dutch East India Copany. One Dutch blue tile showed a scene of males being dressed in women's clothing and being hit as punishment. Apparently, it was a known scene in Arnhem about punishing corrupt politicians. We were very fortunate, our tour guide was knowledgeable, and delighted in explaining the contents of this impressive home, kept exactly as it was in the time of it's owner.

Amazing story and history behind the artist Paul Tetar van Elven and his lovely art house. Was greeted my sweet museum guides who passionately spoke about Mr Paul’s life story. Absolutely must visit this place!!

Museum Paul Tétar van Elven is a wonderful museums with wonderful character - a private canal house occupied by a 19th century painter, showcasing the house and the painting collection of this man. The staff is always very friendly, and is happy to show you around and share their knowledge about the collection. I would highly recommend the museum if you're in Delft for the day!

The only cathedral that is opened on Sunday. Interiors are rich and stain glass is impressive. Free entrance. The cathedral is decorated for the Christmas that adds charm and spirit.

The Maria van Jessekerk is a Gothic Revival Roman Catholic parish church in the city of Delft , in the Dutch province of South Holland . The church was built between 1875 and 1882 and was designed by Evert Margry , a pupil of PJH Cuypers . Originally this church was dedicated to Saint Joseph , but since 1971 to Maria van Jesse . The church is now part of the Saint Ursula parish, which includes all Catholic parish churches in Delft. The church is built in the shape of a cross. The church was the first Catholic church to be re-established in the city center after the Reformation . The Oude Jan and the Nieuwe Kerk were Catholic before the Reformation, but were reformed afterwards . The two towers of the Maria van Jessekerk refer to the two former Catholic churches; in terms of model they refer to the towers of the Oude Kerk and the Nieuwe Kerk. The Maria van Jessekerk stands on the spot where the Papenhoek originated during the Reformation , a neighborhood where only Catholics lived. In 1572 the Delft city council opted for Protestantism and other religions such as the Roman Catholic Church, but also the Lutheran and Baptist Church were banned. In practice, however, they were tolerated. The Hippolytuskerk and the Ursulakerk became Protestant and were henceforth called the Old and New Churches. The Delft Catholics gathered in the neighborhood that was bordered by the Burgwal, the Oude Langedijk and the Jacob Gerritstraat. Celebrations were held in hidden churchesin residential houses. From 1677 there is talk of a station dedicated to Saint Joseph and served by Jesuit Fathers. Schuilkerk (1733) In 1733 , the Jesuits managed to build a small church that was not visible from the street, an important condition for tolerance. This church probably stood on the site of the western transept of the current church, where there was then a courtyard. This church was dedicated to Saint Joseph . Why this saint was chosen is not clear. When the Jesuit order was dissolved in 1773, the Franciscans took over the station.

Very impressive and well preserved churh

It's a church most visit by accident. But the size is huge and interior will not disappoint you - its everything you expect from a big church - stain glass, wooden benches, warm atmosphere. No famous dutch people are burried here and no other fancy stuff but still worth the visit - its free and the door is usually open.

It's a beautiful place with a the quaintness you need to pray You will feel the love in the space thanks to the music and the high ceilings. There are smaller altars where you can light candles and cast your wishes ! Must visit in Delft!

This is one of the smaller churches in South Holland but breathtaking. Keep an eye on their website as they often have concerts taking place thay are well worth attending

Wonderful Church, I felt blessed being able to visit it. It is very hard to find a Church open outside Mass times in the Netherlands, which can be frustrating. But I could visit this one on a Sunday afternoon. It is also looks like they have a vibrant community.

Not the biggest or fancyest church there is...but the guy at the church was super polite and invited us to a little tour around the church, showing us some special features and told us some individuall storys of this church. He was wearmhearted and funny and showed the openhearted perspektives that this church and the catholic beliefes also have to offer.

Beautiful , must visit cathedral , with great interiors and ambiance. We were lucky to witness the organ concert in the church and it was mesmerising. The busy , historic and bustling streets in front of the cathedral with many restaurants and shops , esp the ice cream shops, was wonderful. The canals around the church and the buildings are surreal and we loved every bit of our visit.
