Amazing bridge. it was magical, the view of the bridge and the church's bells ringing in the morning. you can also see a wonderful view of an old street under the bridge. i visited it at night and in the next morning. i prefer seeing it when it's bright outside.

The bridge has a very interesting legend, so it is considered a tourist point in Sibiu, it is a quite crowded area but it is worth visiting (you can see the video in this location on our channel with the same name)

Center of Sibiu is magnificent, lots of places to eat or drink something... i didn't saw so much ice-cream in my life 🤦‍♂️🤣

It was very peaceful and quiet. There were flowers placed on the bridge, and a lot of padlocks were intertwined on the bridge, put there by lovers.

Great view of the town at night and a really nice resteraunt next door with somebody playing the piano in a beautiful part of town. It's only small and next to the small square so it's very easy to find

It's a great museum. The houses are amazing and well preserved, the place is huge. I spent an extremely relaxing day. There are several terraces where meals can be served. It is a lake with swans. Visiting this museum you understand that the peasant technique was not at all rudimentary, but used all the resources at hand. What I would have liked in this wonderful place would be an electric train, tricycles to cover long distances, clearer markings, explanations on all the doors of the houses (many are missing) and, why not, the possibility to stay overnight in one of the museum's cottages. Anyway, it was a wonderful experience.

This place is amazing. Houses from early 1800s were transported here to preserve Romanian history. You can go into some of the homes, most are furnished. The museum is 10 acres so wear comfortable shoes. There are a few information boards but not many. There is a app if you read Romanian. We bought our own food but there were several food vans i.e. burgers, hotdogs, loaded fries and a couple of restaurants. We arrived at 10am and there was plenty of parking across the road. We left at 2pm and there was no parking but that could have been due to a wedding party. If you like strolling through history, you will love this place.

Amazing place!!! You can easily spend a full day there. Even on a hot day, there is a lot of shade, making the walk a lovely experience. There are a lot of friendly ducks on the lake (very cute), you can find snacks, coffee, drinks, 2 restaurants, a church, icecream, toilets... the place is huge, there are a lot of houses to see, from various parts of Romania. The windmills are quite impressive and the lake is lovely. We also saw a cow and some sheep :) Loved every minute of it. A true village museum. I'd go back anytime. To add to all this, the personnel is absolutely charming, helpful, polite and nice, providing every piece of information needed.

We went here last month and had a great. They have QR codes on all the houses so you can read information on all the different types of house from years ago. Also a nice little coffee shop where we got coffee and mulled wine. Weather was fab! Crispy cold with warm sunshine. Would definitely recommend! Only a 15 minute taxi from the centre of Sibiu.

What a wonderful museum! We spent a good part of today wandering around and I'd like to go back later in the week. And it's really great for the kids as well: there's a house with a lot of toys that is arranged in a fascinating manner, there are also activities (mine were busy building with blocks for a very long time), and there are miniature water-mill houses that start working once water is let through. And it's even a lovely place to just go for a walk.

I would say that this is one of the best experiences you could have in Sibiu. So if you wanna see a bit of Romanian history, but also enjoy a great walking around the park, then this is the place 🙂 Keep in mind that even though there a lot of parking spaces, it gets really crowded.

A very interesting museum in the nature, dedicated to the Romanian village. Large area with traditional houses from all over the country, with lake, water and wind mills, churches, schools, everything well preserved. A wonderful place to visit and spend a nice day walking or attending various events and activities in any season.

Amazing location to dive into historic Romania and how the people used to live. Location is perfect for an afternoon walk and see how older generations used to live. I detracted 1 star as there's no info about the houses and what they represent. A little of history and explanation is needed to fully comprehend what you're looking at. There's no English version, so if you don't know Romanian you won't understand anything. There need to be more investment in making the experience more interactive and interesting for both young and adult People.

Wonderful place to take a walk, relax, even have a picnic and learn about romanian traditional houses. It is a good place for a date or speding quality time with your family. There is a small fair where you can purchase traditional gifts, food, or have a small meal and drink. After 6pm you can enter the museum on a bike, that's what i would recommend because the place is pretty big, but if you have enough time, walking is wonderful too. The staff is really nice and helpful, outside at the ticket place and inside at the fair as well.

A very nice place that helps you travel back în time. Pretty big park, you need some hours if you want to see it all and enjoy. The ticket is ca.7 euros and you can buy it there without problems. There are also some restaurants where you can take a break and enjoy a traditional meal.

Absolutely stunning open air museum where you can see all types of traditional building and habitation of Romanian people. Great examples of rural way of living. You can have a unique peek into Romania's folklore, their way of living and values. The place is HUGE so reserve yourselves at least 3 hours.

Great view over the city. 111 stairs. Ticket is only 2 RON. You can go in every round hour for 20 minutes. Make sure to be from the first ones in order to see from the windows without other people in them.

Beautiful, and very cheap fee. This tower has spiral stairs which lead to a superb view. One of my favourite places to visit in Sibiu, and should be visited by everyone!

The tickets cost only 2 Lei per person. It was a bit of a climb, but not much. The view is beautiful. But the place is closed, you will see the view through the windows.

Great place to start your Sibiu expirience, just like we did. The tower is not free to enter, but the ticket price is very, very cheap. It has several floors, which are connected via circular stone stairs. On each floor there are different things - art exhibitions, wax figures representing various activities (even pretty violent ones - typical for the times I guess). On the next last floor you can see the huge clock mechanism and above that, on the last floor the tourists can check out a nice 360 degree panoramic view of the old town of Sibiu. Totally recommended attraction when you are in the beautiful city of Sibiu, Romania.

Really beautiful cathedral, both inside and out. If you are in town this is worth a visit, the architecture is really unique and in lovely condition considering the age.

Nice church - really worth the visit! Tickets are super cheap and I do recommend you go up into the tower - there are a few steps to climb but once you're up you have a great view over the city. If you're scared of heights this may not be such a good idea ( bare that in mind).

Newly renovated Lutheran Cathedral in gothic style is clearly the landmark of Sibiu city. With more than 500 years old history and it’s location in the heart of the city center you shall not miss visit. I highly recommend to visit tower with stunning view to entire city and Fagaras mountains.

Iconic cathedral in the center of Sibiu. The tower offers some of the nicest views in the city and can be accessed through the cathedral. The cathedral also has a small collection of photos on the upper floor. Entry is 10 RON for the church and 10 RON for the tower - 15 RON together. In terms of value for money, it is very much worth the price. Payment is possible only with cash or online. Visit early on weekends to avoid the queues.

It is a very magnificent and beautiful cathedral. You can start your tour here. I couldn't visit because some parts were under renovation. If you want, you can buy very original things from the sellers around. From food, I recommend blueberries.

Excelent place , very neatly organized , visited on 3/09/2023 . Simple ticket was 2 euro , if you want to climb the tower you have to pay extra . Located in the center of Sibiu , it is the most grand church in Sibiu . Lots of history and a lot of people buried there . If you log into the network of the church and scan the QR codes of the funerary stones you can read about the peole there (including a son of Vlad Dracula ) . Highly recommended for history lovers . I would visit for more than 2 hours .

The church is nice to see and has an interesting history. My personal recommendation is walking up the bell tower though. Tickets can be purchased in cash or online and the view is definitely worth it. The stairs are newly made from wood, so pretty easily accessible.

Grandiose cathedral with beautiful views from the tower. It is the centrepice of Sibiu. Keep in mind that the climb to the observation deck is steep and some people may feel dizzy!

For Romania nice paintings from Cranach, Bruegel, Rubens, Jordaens and Italian masters. Also many Romanian paintings. There are more paintings than expected if you look at the facade of the building, a former Palace. For one ticket one can visit the European and Romanian collection. I was less satisfied with the personel. I was taking pictures when a lady asked me if I had paid for my camera. I didn't because at the ticket counter there was no mentioning of a photo tax. See proof of my photos. Looking at the website it is for professional photography. My camera is a compact camera with a small sensor. Nowhere near a professional camera like a DSLR or other full frame or 4/3 inch. It would cost RON 500, €100!. One can take pictures with a smartphone though. I advised the lady at the ticket booth to draw one line, because it is ridiculous that you can't take pictures. Old times persist in this museum.

Great museum in a palace. The palace is beautiful, a lot to see. The art collection is also beatiful and enormous. Only problem is the lighting on the paintings. This is not the right lighting for an art gallery, it is extremely difficult to observe paintings under chandelier light.

One of the most beautiful and well-equipped art museums in Romania's provincial towns. The Brukenthal Palace building is centrally located in the city's main square and is truly impressive. Although smaller than the National Art Museum in Bucharest, it has fascinating art exhibitions which are worth visiting, especially for Romanian art lovers who appreciate famous Romanian painters such as Nicolae Grigorescu. Positives: The exhibitions are full of interesting, original exhibits that are worth visiting. The Brukenthal Palace is impressive. The location is perfect. Negative: the price of the tickets is much, much, much too high for visiting an exhibition that, although attractive, costs as much as a large pizza and a soft drink at any terrace next to the palace. We arrived at 5 pm, and the museum was about to close at 6 pm. In every room we passed through and there was a supervisor who guarded the arts, we were reminded to hurry up and leave the museum at 6 pm. Sad! Suggestions: Museums, and other such state-owned places in Romania are run by a minister of culture and managers who only know how to raise the price of tickets. Their idea about selling some souvenirs in a small and bitter kiosk at the entrance is pathetic. Museums have true art which most people appreciate and would like a copy of some exhibits at home and remember them from time to time to come again and buy some more. Why is hard to understand that each tourist passing through a museum should be seen as a potential client not only for the entrance ticket but for so much more. Tourists spend only as much money as they have in their pocket. The idea is to make them feel that they have spent that money well. By paying for an expensive entrance ticket, the customers will, if they have any money left, buy a souvenir, but this becomes optional. The feeling at the end, after they are rushed by the staff and are leaving without that considerable sum in their pockets, is that their own decision to visit a museum was wrong, especially if they were hungry when leaving the museum. In the castles, fortresses, and museums in Romania, we find supervisors everywhere, who guard the artworks and look at the tourists, instead of these supervisors having a corner in each section where they sell copies of exactly the exhibits, presented there in that section, whether we are talking about paintings, statues, handicrafts, etc. This way, tourists will rather want to own a copy of a work exhibited there, than leave with a photo taken with their phone and a bitter taste that they paid too much for the entrance ticket. Yes, let there be a ticket but for a modest fee, with the rest of the money coming from the sale of souvenirs. Such historical places should have a complete offer, like spaces for art exhibitions, spaces for video projections about historical events dedicated to that location, spaces where the clients can have a coffee and a snack, places for events, and so much more. Whoever visited Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna knows they know how to do business with tourists, from the Lipizzaner shows to the museum, events places, and gastronomical spaces. Do I recommend this place? Yes, as long as you go in good time to avoid being rushed from behind by supervisors. The museum is well worth a visit, and this is indisputable.

Very good collection of (European) paintings! but they don't allow photos without paying a BIG extra fee.... They still didn't understand that they don't own the copyrights (that belong only to the artists) but that they just own the physical paintings... This is a common way to charge extra in Romanian museums.

I liked the museum and all the exponats, but I couldn’t ignore that some of the rooms/ exponats need to be modernised. Also the lightning was not the best given the fact that I could not see well some paintings. There is a gift shop inside the museum, before the ticket shop, but we had to wait for at least 15 minutes for someone to come and sell the souvenirs.

We only visited the European Art Gallery, which is a very lavish display of Baroque art, statues and everyday objects from that period of time. It is a must for any admirer of the fine arts and also for the cat lovers, since you’ll find its mascots, Antonello and Donatello, roaming all over the interior garden 😄

Great museum. Wish I could have a guide to get us through. Impressive paintings with old dated history. You could get the European ticket and a Romanian art ticket or both. At the souvenir shop you can get a Stefan Luchian oil printed painting for 750 Rons. The original one is exposed in the museum.

Impressive museum with impressive paintings and different exhibits. They have 2 exhibitions: European and Romanian, for each one you have to pay a different entrance fee. I was disappointed about the staff (one person, not all of them). She ask me to don’t take pictures. I’ve visited a lot of museums and I’ve never seen this kind of attitude before, but this is only in my country. Most of the museums don’t have this policy, but on the contrary being happy when people are taking pictures and sharing them on social media, because they know this will help them to get more visibility and be promoted by tourists. Unfortunately we still have this communism mindset. 🫤 But I still took pictures 🤘

Well, tried to visit it twice (April & January) and on both occasions it was closed. In January we even had the security guards being extremely rude and acting with us like we were going to rob the place. No need for this. I'm sure the place is amazing and exhibiting great masterpieces but it definitely needs new members of staff.

A comprehensive and exhaustive collection of paintings and other items. The rooms are arranged thematically, featuring paintings of similar motifs. Short descriptive panels offer information as to how pieces were made, acquisitioned or what they symbolise. A visit to this museum is highly reccomended, due to its historical significance and contents. Getting a full ticket is reccomended. Be warned though, if you like to take your time when visiting museums, you should start early because there's a lot to see. Tickets do transfer through the lunch break.

Stairs passage...yeah...well not realy a big deal to see here, some stairs and a 3-5 min walk between two walls. Not to much to see. But you can get some cool pictures here so for 5 min why not visit.

The Pasajul Scărilor (Stairs Passage) is one of the narrow pedestrian streets connecting the Lower Town and the Upper Town. Built in the 13th century, this is, partly due to the archways and cobblestones, one of the nicer streets of the old town of Sibiu. On the north side of the passage is the Butoiul de Aur (the Golden Barrel), Sibiu's oldest restaurant.

I find it nothing special - absolutely not worth even extra 200m on foot. There are far too many more interesting spots all around Sibiu!

The Passage of the Stairs leads down to the lower section of Sibiu. It descends along some fortifications under the support arches. It is the most picturesque of the several passages linking the two sides of the city. Review published 3 years ago.

Located in Sibiu, in the middle of woods in an amazing place. The ticket prices are really cheap 10lei for adults (2euro) and 5lei for kids (1euro). As you walk in you can rent a paddle boat. You can eat have a drink, chill out in the Zoo. They have a smaller group of animals, from if cats to alligator to camel, birds and zoo in. I would recommend to visit at least once. All in all it was a great experience.

Great zoo, as some other reviews said it is a compact zoo. The layout is done well, and the animals have enough space. They seem that they are fed well, too. There are some nice snack shops and a lot of seating. Wish we could experience the zoo in the summer. Saw a few animals for the first time, which was cool. The entrance is afforadble too at 10 Lei for adults. So go have a look.

A wide range of species and really well looked after animals. The lions and the white tiger was one of the most popular attractions with the children. The boat ride was calming and relacing as well

I had some spare time when I was staying at the Hilton and the zoo is right across the road. This is a lovely little zoo, which has a lot of the big cats and birds. The cages are a reasonable size, but given the location and the land available, they could be bigger. However the animals look like they are well looked after. If you are in the area or staying at the Hilton its certainly worth a visit.

The Zoo Garden is big and well taken cared of. The animals have big spaces, food, windows for photos . The playground is nice , the kids were happy. The entrance fee is quite small. It is a perfect place to take a walk, spend quality time with your children and a great reason to start educational conversations with them.

This place is beautiful, the lake view and quiet environment. I do wish some animals had more space, a few of them were alone in their cages, it's sad to see them in there without company at least.

This is not a big Zoo but very very nice. A man in entrance speak English, very clean place, animals very clean with enough spaces. We spent almost 2h and that was very nice time. I reccomend for families.

Perfect escape from the city, especially with kids. You can take a bus (Line 13), or you can rent a scooter or a bike, which also could be an experience. Ticket price 10 RON for Adults 5 RON for Kids. There is a cool playground and also you can buy ice cream.

Zoo in natural forest. The design of the pathways in the zoo is bad today the least. Some enclosures are very small for the big felines... The enclosures for eagles are almost non existent...

The animals were beautiful, but the conditions were terrible. They don't get the care they deserve, not a single person is in the whole zoo to give them food(probably they feed them only in the morning). I saw a Perrott that was sick and riping his feathers off. Truly horrible

Great place for kids. Penty of animals such as leopard, jaguar, tiger, white tiger, lion, zebra, camel, white wolf, ostrich, crocodile, few kinds of monkeys, owl, bear, and many many others. There os very nice kids playground, few places for coffee, ice cream, vending machine. You can spend here half day. The parking is free.

A very nice and clean zoo park, it had many animals in extremely good condition! The area is beautifully landscaped too! We had a blast! It is one of the oldest zoo parks in Romania if I'm not mistaken. The ticket for adults costs only 10 lei (2€) and if you like, you can take a boat ride on the lake for 40 lei (8€) for 30 minutes (4 people).

A landmark in Sibiu that must be visited at least once. The baroque interior is very richly decorated, resembling the catholic churches in the West. Also go visit the tower for an amazing view of the centre and the pretty streets. It might seem scarry given the old stairs one has to climb, but it's totally worth it. When coming down to earth, you can wonder a bit and check some doors that will take you to the cript or to some stored art galery.

This Catholic Church, which was previously managed by the Jesuits, is gorgeously decorated inside. The facilities are dated, but the artwork and architecture and exquisite. You can read much more about the church for the information posted below. From Sibiu Tourism. In the late 17th century the Austrian troops arrived to Sibiu also brought with them some worthy representatives of Catholicism, the Jesuit monks. The Austrian civil servants and dignitaries set their residences in the city’s Large Square and formed a small catholic community. Their presence in the city and the free manifestation of faith implied the building of a catholic church. The edifice was consecrated in 1733 and in 1739 they also inaugurated the Jesuit Convent, which is nowadays the parish house. The church is remarkable due to its early Viennese baroque style, with simple lines at the exterior and a richly decorated interior.

One of the greatest cathedrals in Romania, in my opinion perfectly comparable to similar places in Vienna or Krakow, maybe only the one in Oradea is another landmark comparable to this one in the country The exterior is great and fits in really well with the environs but it is the richly decorated interior that seals the deal, especially the exquisite stained glass Always a pleasure to come here while in the city, need to come to a sermon next time

Beautiful Church. It's surprisingly easy to miss, since the outside looks like just another building in the main square. The marble pillars inside are beautiful, and the lighting is really great.

Right outside at the square we were treated to a free concert. Was wonderful to watch.

A real roman catholic cathedral, not so big outside it is situated in the center of the town, it hold amazing stained glass and it is truly impressive.

This piece of history was very well preserved and now I am happy we can visit it. The view from the tower is amazing and you can think back in the past how people have worked.

Those who visit old Sibiu should not miss this wooden passage parallel to the most beautiful street of the city. Enter through a visitable tower and exit through the adjacent one.

Entry price is 2 Ron, the access area is situated in this tower and the end of it is in the potters tower. There are informative panels all over the places with relevant historic information about the towers. It takes around 1 hour to visit the whole place if you are reading all the informative panels. There is a big parking lot next to the potters tower (the exit).

It's the first time I've found it open in recent years! The entrance is 2 lei, it's clean and well-kept! Each piece of information presented illustrates a small part of the history of craftsmen!

Not as well known as it should be, also if there were a few exhibits it would be perfect

A reasonably sized museum. Plenty to see, but some of the descriptions are sorely lacking. Plenty of artefacts with no dating or place of origin, not even an estimate.

This museum is BIG. Don't let the small gate fool you. It has a lot of things exhibited, and it is a nice way to spend an hour or two. Furniture, gold coins, weapons and armours, glass piecea, iron work, wood work, all placed in an old castle.

Great history heritage presentation, the treasury is of great volume here and the staff can be of great assistance.

The building itself is a great architectural monument of Sibiu , it houses the museum , which is not large but it is certainly worth a visit if you enjoy history . Visited on 1 sept 23 , ticket was 39 lei (4 euros) , located in the city center , it closes at 18:00 during the working days . It has many exhibits , a souvenir shop and facilities .

Maybe not best but nice museum, there are four exhibitions, one about different times on Sibiu territory, second one about weapons, third and fourth ones about coins (Brukhental collection) and golden and silver precious things.

Quite a large number of items on exhibit, although missing sometimes stories and background. Polite staff & reasonably priced, would recommend for anyone wanting a taste of local history! Good for kids as well.

Very attractive collection of historical artefacts housed in a very charming classical building - the former City Hall, dating back to the 15th century.

A place full of items with great historic importance, with polite guides. There are also independent exhibits to visit regularly, accessed thought the museum's court. Buying full tickets (45 lei) grants to access roughly to other 6 museum's as well, forming a circuit (which includes Brukenthal Musem and its art galleries), if you're looking to visit more.

Lots of interesting things to see... I really liked the treasure room and the lapidarium . A very unique exhibit was the life-sized armored knight on a horse ...and if you have the Brukenthal full ticket( the one that costs 45 lei and gives you access to all the galleries and museums in and near Brukenthal) you can see a room full, from ground to celling , with different guns, muskets and other fire arms ...

Pretty nice variety of things to see. Everything can be seen in about one hour and a half.
