Prato is really a nice place, calm but full of historical buildings and delicious foods. Near by Florence and easily you can take bus or train here to go and come back. i definitly advice you to visit here.

Magnificent construction of great blocks of marble including the fascinating green marble of Prato. The cathedral has a beautifully decorated chapel dedicated to the girdle of Maria and a unique round platform outside where this precious relique is shown on days dedicated to Maria as is the city of Prato - una città Marianna. For some unknown reason this major destination in Prato is NOT currently showing up in Google's Travel Guide of top sights in Prato. It’s a lovely museum that worth a visit. It’s neither too small nor too informative and sophisticated to understand. Though the route was not the best design, I’d still give a 5 star cuz I had a great time there.

No audio visual presentations operating today which would be the only real moving part of the museum. Lighting is poor and dark in some areas making more difficult to read. Better translation of exhibits would be an improvement for those non Italian speaking nations. Have learnt some interesting new facts however I feel it is overpriced for the experience.

The building itself is very impressive. Maybe I got there on a bad day but the exhibits were seriously dated, spectacularly academic and non visual. The content focused on a set of existentialist conceptual artists. The experience stuck me as though the museum could not afford to mount a real contemporary show & instead had pulled out notes and photos of artists and their work from their library.
