The rest was replaced by metal. From the bridge you have a stunning view and you can admire the famous Hanging Houses of Cuenca. Caution: the bridge moves a bit when many people walk on it. People with fear of this might use the street to the Parador instead of walking over the bridge.

Definitely worth a visit while in Cuenca, it's a very pretty cathedral and only cost a euro or two each. The staff were very friendly. We did find on the day we went it was closing at a different time advertised on Google, but we still had a good look round, we did arrive late into Cuenca.

It's an amazing place. Gorgeous! I recommend it to choose as a first place of visiting CUENCA. I think this cathedral is even more interesting than the Main Cathedral in Toledo. Visit the view terrace! It's wonderful. Ticket price is 5 euro.

Beautiful cathedral in this hilltop town. Entrance fee of €5.50. Some nice stained glass. A life size last supper? Worth the climb up the hill especially in the right light. Makes me think gothic kinda like notre dame on a small scale. Marks the centerpiece of the plaza mayor in Cuenca. Come up the river walk, ramp and bridge over by the parador hotel for stunning views.

Attended a concert here a couple of nights ago by a seven piece singing group. Was brilliant. Such a lovely setting for this. The cathedral is stunning inside when lit at night and beautiful to view from outside as sun falls on the facade at evening time.

Amazing and precarious architecture! Lovely old town to walk. You can get a beautiful view of the hanging houses from the Parador across the way. There is a bridge that will also give you a good vantage point for excellent photos. It is imperative to visit this town in either the spring or the fall as the summer is unbearable and uncomfortable and the winter is just too cold to really tske the time to appreciate the beauty. You can also visit the nearby rock formations if you have a car. Cuenca is easy to get to by car (but parking isn't easy). The bus runs regularly from Madrid.

Nice but long walk up. There are buses but not always clear where to get them. Be prepared for tourist prices. Otherwise lovely for photos and such. Nice museums for free too.

One of the most beautiful towns in Spain. The drive to Cuenca (from Zaragoza etc) is something not to be missed. The change in scenery is mesmerising- from flat dry lands to cliffs to tall trees. Great place for a couple of days, the old town and the hills behind. Town has some great history and the views of the two valleys that sandwich it are fantastic. The National Park to the north west is also well worth a drive and walks if you are of that ilk. Not really a place well known to the Brits but deffo worth a visit and stop overnight, or two, if you can. Great place.

This fascinating modern art museum was founded in 1966 by artist Fernando Zöbel to house his extensive collection. In 1980 he donated it to the March Foundation which has looked after it ever since and made many new acquisitions. It was the first ever museum of its kind in Spain and is housed in the 4 remaining 'Casas Colgadas' (literally the Hung Houses). There were originally eleven.

If you come to Cuenca you have to stop by this museum , excellent exhibition and great views, and the best part it is free.

My one-day stay in Cuenca included a visit to the Museum of Abstract Art, a place I had been eagerly anticipating. However, my excitement turned into disappointment when the woman at the front desk refused entry, despite my arrival 25 minutes before closing time. The museum’s small size made her denial puzzling. What saddened me even more was the apparent lack of interest she showed. It seemed she cared little about visitors experiencing the collection and preferred to do as little as possible. An interesting although perhaps too brief of an experience (hence only four stars) as access to the claimed "subterranean labyrinth" isn't available to visitors but is limited to a guided tour of only a hundred meters or so. The tunnel was only opened to tourists in 2010 but according to our guide efforts are underway to open more of the tunnel network. The tour of the tunnel is led by a friendly local guide with an extensive knowledge of the history of the tunnels. The tour is presently only provided in Spanish and without a modicum of understanding it would be difficult to gain much of an appreciation of the site's features and significance. Although you are required to don hard hats, passage through the tunnel is on a well constructed path with ample lighting making for easy walking. The tunnel is not large so those that find small places uncomfortable might want to stroll the streets of Cuenca instead. Tours are limited in size and only one or two are given each day. The schedule varies according to the day of the week. It is best to make reservations early in the day. Book a spot at the city's tourist information center in the old town for a place later in the day. Entrance to the tunnel is not at the tourist office, but directions are provided when tickets are purchased. A small sign marks the plain steel door entrance in a rock wall just across the street from 87 Calle Alfonso VIII. Allow yourself a little bit of extra time to find the slightly obscure entrance before the scheduled starting time of the tour. Once everyone is inside the tour starts and the door is locked.
