Aveiro is called the Venice of Portugal where the Ria de Aveiro runs thru the middle of the city. It runs from the Atlantic ocean where there are salt fields . A canal off the river is a fishing village. Definitely take one of the gondolas to see the city and the river.

It's a beautiful and quite big mall in the middle of Aveiro. You find the regular stores here but for me the catch is the buildings, the decoration and the fact that it is an outdoor Mall which you do not find that often. Being an outdoor Mall there are of course also problems coming along. Since it is quite hot in the summer the stores without air condition, which were the majority, are quite hot inside which makes looking for clothes and trying them on relatives uncomfortable rarely quick. If you are around, it is definitely worth the stroll! You can park directly underneath the mall. It took about 15 minutes to get into the parking garage though because of traffic jams inside the garage.

The Forum is a modern mall in an old building. Just by side of the canal, there could not have been a better place for it. Many upscale brands exist on ground floor and a good food court with multi cuisine restaurants exists on the first floor. There is enough activity to pass time and enjoy a walk by the side of canal

The shopping mall is quite unique for their concept to be open shop. You can easily find big brands here in the shopping mall. The location is very easy to find by google maps. There are some bars nearby if you want to have a coffee or drinks. They are located near the river. You can sit around and enjoy the view after doing your things.

The ancient train station is very beautiful, the wall fresco's tells a lot about the town and its history. The small shop that's inside the station got all sorts of souvenirs. From local wines to specialty snakes.

The stations toilets are Pay to Pee. I am not paying 3 euros in Atm fees just to get 50 cents so I can pee. Add the fact that the train is 40 minutes late. Amazing how Salazar still influences Portugal after so many years

I'm not a big fan of this train station at all to be honest. The space is open, so it's always cold, but it still smells very bad there. Hygiene is clearly not a priority at this establishment. The trains are generally on time. Also there is free parking in the back and a bus station.

The station is quite far from the city center. I walked from University of Aveiro to the station around 45 minutes. I did not see much sign to go to the station. One of the most charming and beautiful parks in Portugal, for damn sure. I absolutely fell in love with the bohemian vibe that it has to offer. It’s an amazing place for bird-watching lovers. There’s a variety of life forms living here that is kind of rare these days. It’s also great for small picnics but please, there are trash bins around in every corner of the park, don’t leave any traces of your personal trash there. Be attentive! It’s a great place to just chill out and read a book as well. Enjoy it!

The park is great, just couple of minutes away from the canal. I think it's worth it to go there and check it out. It's not super big, but it has a couple of bridges that cross around that are cool to see, and some tables were you can have a picnic.

We booked a private session (10€ per person) in English and Tiago explained us the history of ovos moles, their preparation, the recipe for the yolk cream and made us fill, close and cut our on ovos moles, and of cours eat them! My friends and I were lucky enough to be able to enjoy this workshop by ourselves as there were no other groups that day for the English session. Our presenter Laura was very friendly and nice. After showing us a short video about ovo moles, we got to fill the sweet casings and make them ourselves and then eat them. For 2.75 euros a person, not a bad way to spend an hour learning about a dessert that is so unique to Portugal.

I don't think it is fair to charge 10€ for English speaking workshop and it costs 4€ for Portuguese workshop. I will take my business elsewhere.
