This place is gorgeous and full of history! I loved it here. The only had two issues. 1. I ended up picking up trash as I was walking. People can be hogs!!! There are refuse containers everywhere so there is zero excuses. 2. People letting their kids climb on the ruins like it is a jungle gym. I actually saw a kid knocking stones off one of the monuments. That was awful. Other than that it’s worth the trip… you can spend a full day here.

My friend and I had a lovely trip here with our dogs. Dogs are allowed on leads in the gardens but there is a fairly long circular walk too, where we did let them off, not in the gardens. There are plenty of seats for relaxing and chatting in the gardens and we did some of that despite the fact that it rained nearly all the time! We had lunch and coffee and cake at the kiosk cafe. Only outside seating but there was a lucky break in the rain! Lovely sausage rolls and soup, cappuccino and brownies. Also got some dog biscuits. Pleasant friendly staff too. There are very clean loos in the park with an attendant which was nice. We parked all day nearby at Rams Meadow Car park for only £3. What a bargain! It would have cost 3 times that in Norwich! Would recommend.

Partner loves a good cloister I tell ya. View of the cathedral is amazing and the gardens are very well kept. The ruins are a joy to walk around if you’re into history and architecture at all. Squirrels aplenty as well and are very comfortable around people (if you have grapes). Free public restrooms as well, to include a small cafe (haven’t had anything from there but looks rather nice). Benches in case you want to bring a takeaway there. It’s great and I suggest a stop at the gardens for anyone who passes through. There’s parking 🅿️ right outside the gardens (paid of course) but worth it.

The Abbey Gardens are lovely and well worth a trip into Bury (which is a nice town with lots of interesting independent shops). In the summer there’s lots of flower beds and greenery. A lot of care goes into maintaining the gardens and I’m grateful for it. The ruins are mostly open to explore and they’re absolutely fascinating - a glimpse into another time. My eldest child’s fascinated with them and imagining what they would have been. I have so many lovely memories of the Abbey Gardens from my childhood, especially looking at the birds kept there (they still have them now). It’s really nice to be able to visit the gardens when I’m back visiting family in Suffolk to make more memories there with my children.

Beautiful place with lots to explore! The abbey ruins, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, the aviaries, plant shop, flower gardens, playground, cafe...there's lots to see and do. If you're visiting BSE, park in the Ram Meadows Car Park - it's just round the corner and only around £3 per day.

Lovely, peaceful gardens between the cathedral & old Abbey ruins of King Cnut of Anglo-Saxon times. Only the ruins of the Benedictine Abbey remain but these are extensive with interpretive boards showing the layout of St Edmund's great Abbey. The gardens, laid between large mature trees, are exquisitely kept, a perfect place of tranquility & rest.

A pleasantly set out and well maintained public park in the grounds of a former abbey. A kids play area is on site as well as refreshments in the form of a cafe. The birds on public display are cute, the ruins interesting but the most enjoyable and entertaining thing by far are the many squirrels that will come and say hello for ford.

Absolutely love it here! Beautiful walking trails, lovely flowers that are very well taken care of and the ruins are breathtaking. Lovely little playground for children and very dog friendly.

Gardens are well maintained. There's toilets near the entrance. Cafe and shop. The priory ruins are amazing! It is wheelchair friendly, although there are some steep areas and uneven terrain! There are plenty of benches to sit down. Dog friendly!

What a fantastic place. It was our first trip to Bury St Edmunds as a family, and we took the kids through the gardens, into the park and around the ruins. They all loved it. Ages 10, 8 and (almost) 2. Despite being in a busy city center, there was an unedniable air of the idylic to gardens. The playground offers something for kids of all ages, while the gardens themselves are an area of pure beauty. There was a wedding photography session in place when we arrived, and I can understand why. The picturesque setting offers an array of stunning backdrops. One thing to keep in mind is that you only get a max of 2 hours parking outside the gardens. So you're best to look at the long stay car parks and walk down. You can easily spend a day in this park without even looking at the rest of Bury. We can't wait to go back for more.

Came here in the winter just before closing. Was so lovely with some amazing views of the Chapel. The gardens are well maintained and are a lovely place to chill out. The closing times depend on which gate you go out of.

A really interesting historic place, free to roam with pets, amazing ruins left to see and information to read up on, a must visit.....

Always a place we drive by..sugar beet factory is the landmark...but we pulled off A14 on sunny BH Monday...what a lovely place..so full of history. A picturesque square with a unique illuminated traffic signpost ( like a lighthouse) leads to a portcullis through to the most amazing parkland which used to be the largest Abbey in Europe (?)..now in ruins with just the walls inner flint rubble core remaining..the limestone walls being repurposed after the destruction in the 16th Century... Memorial rose garden to the USAAF at Rougham Airfield 1939-1945.

Lovely grounds to meander. Meticulously kept year round. The ruins of the ancient abby are honored and explained beautifully.

Lovely green area with gardens, ruins, cathedral, lots of seating areas, good for picnic or just for a nice relaxed walk. Very peaceful and beautiful when all the flowers bloom.

Beautiful gardens, well maintained, lovely flowers and space for families to walk and enjoy looking around the place or chill on the grass without feeling like everyone is close to you. Toilets and an icecream/coffee window and a play area for kids. Am looking forward to going plenty more times as parking nearby is good value and you feel so relaxed there

Spectacular views of the cathedral and ruins. A beautiful setting to relax and meditate. Visit the ruins of the old Abbey which stretches over quite a large area, or the later built Cathedral. Plenty of space to walk, or sit on the benches and admire the views. Toilet facilities are clean and available to visitors. A coffee and treats shop also open to the public. An unforgettable experience overall.

Celebrating 1000 yrs since the formation of a Benedictine Priory. Today's wonderful R. C. Mass by Bishop Alan Hopes, Bishop of East Anglia was a great Christian Celebration.

A lovely place to visit, full of history, as you’d imagine. Set alongside the wonderful Abbey Gardens. They do tower tours a couple of times a week, unfortunately we went on a non tour day and you can’t just go alone, I think the tour would be well worth while as Bury St Edmunds is quite an attractive town so the views could be superb, lots of photo opportunities. Make the most of your visit to the town with a look round this wonderful cathedral.

Stunning boost to the cathedral and grounds! Everything is kept immaculate, would recommend a walk around the rose garden and a visit to the cafe which is accessed via the cathedral. Lots of beautiful outside space to wander, it’s very popular all year round!

Visited the Bury St Edmunds Cathedral, it is well maintained and beautiful. When we visited, there was a choir going on, so it added to the scene. Minor issue: the Cathedral seems to lack restrooms to use for public, or at least signs indicating it's direction. So, when my kid had urge to go, even when we wanted to stay a bit longer, we had to step out to use rest room in Abbey Gardens, which is next to it.

Although originating in the 11th century this Cathedral was predominantly rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries with new extentions and additions finished as recently as 2005 . Myself being a great fan of Gilbert Scott particularly like the font and pulpit . As you may have guessed a predominant theme here is the man himself St Edmund . There being a statue of him and the wolf wic wic wic outside another of him inside and several artworks of him too . There is an amazing painting showing what the Abbey looked like in its heyday . Great stained glass windows a rather impressive Organ too . A Byzantine painting i always admire of Christ the one who is .

This is a delightful cathedral. An insightful and inspiring tapestry exhibition. An outstanding painted ceiling and font. Excellent stained glass throughout. The rich and varied recent history has done wonders for the whole building and a the Lego project will be a great way to show it all off!

We went just before lunch, the cathedral was pretty empty but the public areas were kept tidy and clean. I get the idea that the woodwork has been updated recently as I couldn't see or smell any mildew. The dedications and concrete memorials were clean and easily readable. Giving a donation to the cathedral is easy, they have small card readers for you to use. There is a small well stocked gift shop by the main entrance which sells an array of things to take home. Obviously there are biblical texts and analysis of these. I recommend you visit here and the gardens in one visit, to make the best of your trip to Bury St Edmunds.

We have visited a few cathedrals before, and this one is undoubtedly impressive. The ceiling is amazing, and so does its stained glasses. It's great for adults and kids- have an activity sheet for kids to look around and find. We all enjoy very much - from 5 years old to 70 years old. Volunteers are super friendly—good selection of presents in the gift shop too. What a hidden gem. So glad we find it.

I went here for the Christmas service of 9 lessons and Carols. It was a beautiful service, well organised and the choir was excellent. The cathedral was well decorated and the front pews were reserved for family of the choir, which as an ex-chorister I thought was a lovely touch. I liked the fact the service had different readings from various sources, the music selection was fantastic- the choir sang a traditional Ukranian Carol and it was just wonderful. They also invited readers from within organisations in the community that support others. I really liked this and it meant we could use the QR codes in the order of service to donate to their organisations if we wished. There was also a member of the congregation who experienced a medical emergency during the service and the staff handled it really well and discreetly. The organist was very good and I particularly liked the piece of Widor he played at the end.

Been here before so went to the gift shop this time. Lovely grounds, gardens busy with visitors. Recommend visiting

Beautiful cathedral. All the intricate details you could hope for and a fascinating history.

Gorgeous cathedral with plenty of volunteers to show and tell about the history. Lots of stained glass and history. The grounds are beautiful and listening the bells of the clock tower is a beautiful sound. It’s stunning. There are tours for £6. Very enjoyable to see. There is a Lego replica being built and you can add to it for 1 quid.

We went to an organ concert. What an amazing experience. Beautiful surroundings Expertly played. Not many people sadly.

We enjoyed our visit to the cathedral. The staff were really lovely and for a few pounds we were able to help out together part of the Lego mini version of the cathedral that they have in the process of being built. The cathedral is also dog friendly and they offered my friends dog a cookie when we entered the building.

Absolutely breathtaking, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is beyond measure. The greetings on entry and the book shop were so welcoming and friendly, no stuffy reception here. Very interesting books in the Bookshop. And thanks to the Bishop entry is free but donations are very gratefully received. Can't wait to revisit St Edmundsbury Cathedral and Bury St Edmunds again.

The brewery tour was amazing and very good value for money. Both of us enjoyed it, even though one of us loves beer and the other isn't too keen. It was so interesting to hear about this old business and the history of making beer. There is also a wonderful view of Bury at the top! Our guide John was very knowledgeable and a good story teller. The tasting afterwards was really in depth and we tried so many more beers than expected, so there was something for everyone! And then to walk away with a complimentary bottle and a discount on the shop... a really great experience.

Excellent brewery tour that begins in the café. The guide, Paul explained everything clearly and the view from the roof was amazing. Tasting session was really good as tried some new ales.

Tour was well worth doing. The reception staff were very friendly. The guide (Steve) was well versed with the history of the brewery and a keen beer drinker. The tour duration is about 1 hour and a half and ends with a beer tasting session of around 20 minutes. There are 114 steps from the road outside to the roof so be prepared. The view of Bury Saint Edmund from the roof top is great. There is a small shop on site where Greeneking beers can be purchased. There is also a small coffee shop on site called Beer Cafe. We had a great tour around which was about 1.5 hrs. Toilets in the main shop area so make sure you go before the tour starts. Was great testing all the ales upstairs in a private bar after the tour. Well worth the money and very interesting.

Just like another review, I have had multiple attempts on my card when I've never even been there so it's obviously a hot spot for credit card fraud. Theyre skimming cloned cards there see if they work which is well dodgy. Id avoid this place!

I have been on several brewery tours at establishments of all ages and sizes and I don't think I have enjoyed any quite as much as this. Our guide was excellent, which really helps. She had worked at the brewery for 40 years and was in love with the town and the brewery. The main 1930's Art Deco building is large, spacious and mostly very quiet. The views from the roof are great for seeing Bury and the associated brewery buildings. I only wish I had taken my camera up the 113 steps. After the tour and tale of the history of the building and business we had plenty of time to sample the produce.

Great cinema experience. We went to see The Electrical Life of Louis Wain. If you are cat people, this is possibly the saddest film I have seen in my life. The cats thrive, but the people do not. A wonderful, compassionate and feeling piece of cinema. This was our first visit since the renovations. We loved the additional space, easy to social distance and dine in comfort. The burgers were fab too. An whole is an asset to the cultural life of Bury St. Edmunds...

Well what can I say about this little gem 💎 of a cinema. It must be over 30 years since I last went to this cinema 🎥 and how surprised was I. Everything about it was first class, from the pop corn to the seats. This really is a must for all ages. As working in hospitality I understand how hard it is to please people but this is a fantastic value for money cinema. We watched Mario and will definitely be back again. Keep up the great work and thank you for a lovely couple of hours.

Had a delicious meal at No.4 Restaurant today. The chef and staff went above and beyond to look after us. Great menu with lots of choice! Definitely something for everyone. Ideal for something to eat before a film or a concert in town. Love this place!

My first ever visit. I bought my 2 sons, aged 3 and 6 to watch sonic the hedgehog. Bought coffee and popcorn. Not over priced! The seats were comfortable and reclining. Toilets were clean Staff were professional and offered great service. I will use this as my default cinema in future

Brilliant beautiful comfy chairs that recline! You can even have a cheeky vino in a glass! Not cold like the other branded cinemas, stylishly decorated and really good prices always check for special offers!

Just had dinner in the No 4 restaurant - the Sunday roast was great and the bouillabaisse was fantastic. Such good food, friendly staff and good value for money! So pleased to support an independent business

Our favorite cinema to go to. It's so cozy and the seats are super comfortable. It's a small, boutique cinema so there isn't much food and drink on offer. But they do have a couple of taps and some good bottles of cider available. They have wine too.

We've used this cinema more than the likes of Cineworld as it feels more personal and friendly, in addition to being a smaller screen an seating area. The sofas are a nice feature and make it feel more relaxed than a normal chair. The only negative is the seats / sofas are a little dated, clearly well worn (which is understandable) but could do with a little refresh. We've never used it but the cafe / restaurant always seems to be busy and looks nice. On street parking if needed, and a space is available, but well placed local to the town centre

Went to see Back to Black 22.04.24...Fantastic film in the Premier Suite except for a couple of moans....2.00pm start 1. On going to our seats....popcorn all over carpet and seat with an empty glass left...no cleaner had been in that area since last showing. Not nice to see. Place should be checked by a cleaner before and after shows. 2. The room was incredibly cold...no heating had been put on....Sat watching the film with my coat covering me to keep warm...so did others in their seats... noticed it was gradually getting warmer during last 15 mins of film...why was nobody making sure heating was on....just only 9 people in whole of room does not warrant no heating to go on.... Sort it out.... was a very cold day too...

My bestie and I came to see The Nutcracker ballet to get us in the festive mood last evening. It is always such a lovely treat coming to the Abbeygate and we wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Thank you to Gerry, Pat and the team for making a night out in the cold such a worthwhile and comfortable experience. Merry Christmas to you all 😁🎄😁🎄

Super cute and unique theater. You will love this place especially if you’re a big film buff. This was the first date we went in after moving to the UK from the states and was pleasantly surprised at just how cool this movie theater was, far from average. It’s small and only a few small screens - but a much better experience. They play a large variety of films, and have lots of special screenings from what I gathered. One being a “mothers screening” during the week where moms with small babies can go watch a movie at a lower volume with dim lights with only other mothers and babies in case of an outbursts a child may have. I thought this was a lovely idea for mothers who may be bored and lonely to still get out of the house and have some fun when they have a little one. Downstairs is a restaurant and bar, which is perfect. Upstairs are the screens. The prices and reasonable and the service was great. I love the decorations and all the movie references and artwork. It really was a great pick me up after such a big and scary move for us with the military and meant a lot to us as huge film fans to find this place.

Lovely independent theatre with very comfortable seating, a great selection of snacks and drinks, and it's always a better time than going to a big chain. Staff are always helpful and polite. A fantastic gem to see your favourite film.

Great little cinema. Wonderful comfortable seats with armrests, plenty of leg room & cushions. Nice atmosphere. The film was 3 hours 20minutes long so the luxury was welcome We We will be back. Great film as well.

Great organised tour in front and behind the scenes, on the stage and under it. The guide Stephen is very informative imparting a host of history and funny anecdotes, taking you back 200 years! A guided tour well worth it.

lovely building, always have fun going there, staff and great and look like they are always working hard. the theatre and seating are amazing love how they have kept it in it original state, if they did with not achily knowing but looks like it, from the clean to how the seats are made around a lot of the stage and the boxes what makes you feel you have gone back in time. amazing place :)

Beautiful building and a few friendly staff. However, the organisation is a bit haphazard. The café would also be much improved if they sold some light snacks such as sandwiches, cakes, etc - crisps and chocolate only! The worst part though, was the hostility I encountered from a couple of the staff and several fellow theatre-goers; as I was well dressed at the time and these people do not know me, I can only attribute it to my ethnicity - I am completely unused to this and it was a highly unpleasant experience which somewhat marred my enjoyment of the amazing Ballet Cymru, whom I had gone to see perform. November, 2022 Update: dreadfully disorganised at the courtyard entrance and dining area. The staff there refused to open the door, despite theatre-goers entering from the front. This was also an evening performance and having severe asthma and Chronic Fatigue, being forced to stand in the cold, damp night air, was very unwelcome - particularly as I am still recovering from the aftermath of Covid. We also had a pre-performance meal booked, but when we asked the door staff where to collect our meal, they said they didn't know so to ask at the bar!

This is such an intimate theater, no matter where you seat you seem to be almost on the stage. Took my grandchildren to watch the wizard of Oz . It was a great performance narrated by Toto the dog.

Fabulous production of Snow White the pantomime. The best I've seen, great actors and actresses, scenery and lots of singing and dancing. Costumes excellent. My favourite character was the butler, so well done, great timing and very funny. Dame Judy Dench was the voice of the mirror, lost on the children but excellent. Great production. Love this theatre, beautiful and well supported.

Great value seats in front few rows; good range of entertainment - have seen tribute bands, comedy, plays and panto, always good production though the sound balance isn't always quite right. Have had to complain a couple of times when music has drowned out vocals but this has always been fixed during interval. Shouldn't have to sit through half a show with poor sound though.

Went to see Robin Hood pantomime. Fabulous show. Soo much fun. Can't remember when I laughed so much. Not your usual Robin Hood story, but all the better for that in my opinion. The cast were amazing. The actor playing the dame was superb. The theatre is a nice size, everyone gets a good view. Loads of audience participation makes it a fab show.

Went to see "Ghost" this evening, a brilliant performance by the cast and band. Paid £2.00 parking, well worth it as it was at the rear of the theatre. Booked a box in the gallery and had a great view. Look forward to going again.

2023 November Visit: Production Snow White Good parking in Greene King Yard. Parked early evening Saturday for a minimum price of £2.00 great value. Only a short walk from the theatre. Great atmosphere on arrival with very helpful staff directing us to where we wanted to be. Friendly bar with good clean toilet facilities. The theatre itself is very family orientated. I particularly like the circular seat arrangement on the ground floor and very novel box seats above on two levels, each has their own door. Good for families wanting to be together and good for audience participation. Visual impact was good from our box called 'Tattershall's' First time visit to see Snow White. Very enthusiastic young cast with supporting older actors. Dancing and singing of with good audience interaction. The show was fun and upbeat. Very good music support and very varied. Thoroughly enjoyed the show and would definitely go again

Very friendly smaller venue; Snow White panto is excellent. The neighbouring brewery offer up their car park, so spaces are not at a premium.

The Theatre Royal was exceptional. We attended last night to watch "Made in Dagenham". We had a box in the dress circle which apparently had restricted views. I could see everything! I used a mobility scooter and was able to park it behind the entrance to the box. Then I just had a few steps into the box. The show was amazing and although I already knew the story I was moved to tears on more than one occasion. Having said that I laughed, I cried and laughed some more. If you get a chance, go and see it!

A beautiful venue! The tour was brilliant and explored the history, including some very quirky past performers, with great research and good humour. The show I saw was superb quality in all ways - talented actors, interesting set and unforgettable experience. As someone visiting from further away I appreciate the choice of mantinee shows.

The Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds holds a special place in my heart. From childhood memories to recent visits, their performances and pantos never fail to amaze. Attending the Barnados charity fashion show was a testament to their creativity, transforming the pit into a stage seamlessly. Kudos to their masterful planning! The staff are always welcoming, and the service at the green room is impeccable. Can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience. Highly recommend this gem for anyone seeking top-notch entertainment and hospitality.

We saw the Snow White panto here with a charity group and everything about it was lovely. The staff were very nice and friendly and the cast came out after to answer the children's questions!

A really nicely restored theatre. I visited as a private party to see a comedy show. The size creates an intimate environment with the performer allowing you to see very easily. The reception area was very comfortable allowing you to wait before the performance. I was lucky enough to be able to sit in a box which were comfortable with ample leg room. The seating was a little puzzled due to the way the seats folded, but it was a good idea to solve the issue. A very nice cosy environment to see an intimate performance.

Visited West Stow for school trip with 60 primary school children. Museum was interesting & engaging, areas to explore in the Anglo Saxon house area with knowledgeable staff. Dougal particularly good. Lovely playground & covered areas for lunch. Toilets were a little lacking for large groups but perfectly adequate for the public.

Excellent opportunity to learn more about the heritage of the area. The small museum contains a range of material from the Palaeolithic to the Saxons, including a substantial Bronze Age hoard. The reconstructed houses give you a great insight into what living in Saxon period would have been like. Very impressive.

We had a great time here, it was really interesting to see all of the history that has been found in the area. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the shop has some cool things too. Definitely want to come back when there is an event on.

Great place! There's a couple of very good museums with artifacts from around the local area, a decent cafe, toilets, a gift shop, good parking, wheelchair access (although it would be hard work around where the Anglo-Saxon houses are) and adventure playgrounds for kids. The houses are part of an ongoing archaeological experiment to help interpret evidence in the ground, and each one has a different feel. It really gives a sense of history and how people used to live. There's also a short video explaining about the site, as well as a special archaeological dig section for kids to uncover artifacts in sand. We'll worth a visit.

We visited on a quiet day, so had plenty of time to look at the exhibits in the museum. It was really interesting and well presented. We felt like we learned a lot about Anglo-Saxon life. There wasn't a re-enactment going on and we felt the actual buildings would have been more interesting if there had been. There are also some nice walks around the lake, so it's not just the Anglo-Saxon stuff.

Our visit with the reenactment was superb. Not sure how often they have them, but their characters and knowledge were top notch. We particularly liked watching the blacksmith at work and we could try on the armour and swords for size before watching them fight! Absolutely brilliant experience.

Had a wonderful afternoon at the West Stow Anglo Saxon village. Lots to do & experience. I got a real feel of life in that period & the various people who volunteered/ worked there were enthusiastic & knowledgeable & obviously love what they do. I took part in a drumming session which was bliss!

Lovely place, excellent day out . A must if you are an Anglo Saxon fan. The new exhibition of the Rendlesham finds was excellent. The walks are great it's a beautiful place. The shop has plenty in too . I'd recommend going to Sutton hoo as well.

A great experience for all. The recreated Anglo Saxon Village is truly amazing. It certainly gives you a feel as to how they lived. Very interesting museum displaying lots of items and artefacts from the period. There are some lovely walks to suit all abilities. It certainly makes a great day out at a very reasonable cost. Would certainly recommend.

Dragon's fest was very good! Little man was up and down and had lots of fun which is the most important. For me I think it would be great to have more things for them to get engaged/play. He had fun for 4 solid hours so that what matters.

A wonderful, historical gem we just happened to come across. A site of historical importance that stems from the stone age through to the Anglo Saxons. We got taking to a member of staff who was working in the allotment, she was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time here.

Interesting walk through history. Very impressive displays of stone, bronze, iron, and roman artefacts before you even get to the Anglo saxon finds. Blown away by the depth of some of the displays. Great access to the site. You can enter all but one of the buildings. All of them gave little details that made them come alive. Good disabled parking. Nice cafe set for lunchtime snacks and treats, not full meals. Toilets in the car park and in the cafe. Nice 2 hr family adventure. If no activities may struggle to hold a teenagers interest at times. Would love to visit on a themed event day.

If you want to explore Viking housing and the life how it was in Viking times this place is perfect for that. Lots of places to see, all the Viking houses and other premises, read about the history and see artefacts. Plenty space to explore and it’s nice and peaceful too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit today (two 65+ people). Initially it seemed like there wasn’t a lot there, but both the museum areas were very interesting and informative, and had a lot of original artefacts and reconstructions on display. The experimental archeology village has about seven buildings, each showing slightly different construction methods and uses. The cafe and toilets were good, and there was good wheelchair access to all parts of the site. Though if you are using a manual wheelchair the rough ground in parts could make it difficult. We spent about four hours there.

Great walks in wonderful countryside. The car park is very large and is pay and display. Cash or through an App. The price is very good. £2 for 2 hours or £3 for all day. There is a place sit and enjoy your packed lunch. The area is clean and there is plenty of different walks to enjoy. I would only say that the walks need to be better sign posted. Will go again and enjoy the sites walks. You can walk around the lake or within the heath land, plenty to do. A nice and large children's play area.

I've been coming here for nearly 30 years and I never get bored. The walk around the lake is beautiful. You'll encounter numerous wild flowers, mushrooms, beautiful butterflies and lots of interesting bugs and critters. It's a wonderful little nature walk for all ages, and it's a great place to get kids exploring. Even if you don't get a chance to visit the Anglo Saxon village. There's lots of events that happen so it's always worth checking their website.

Lovely day out at the saxon village today, reconstructed on top of the original site, several beautiful buildings, plus a packed museum full of artifacts, we will be back again, thankyou.

We turned up one day, just past closing time and in the pouring rain. We were en route to our holiday in Norfolk so unlikely to return and, when we explained this, the manager very kindly let us go round anyway. What a lovely place, the passion for history was evident and having the place to ourselves in the rain was actually magical. Thank you so much! 😁

Great to be back at the Leaping Hare, Wyken Vineyards and the team didn't disappoint. A chance to enjoy a glass of Wyken Pink in beautiful surroundings. Perhaps best appreciated in less colder months. For those wanting to grab a gift there is a convenient shop attached, a bit pricey though.

Absolutely wonderful meal at The Leaping Hare last night. First but definitely not our last visit. The food was exceptional, the service spot on. Each course brought new flavours & new twists on tried & true flavours. Quality food & beautifully presented but definitely quality over fanciful whims or over the top presentation. The flavours were rich & offered depth & interest. Highly recommend the hare (the confit was out of this world & the Sea Buckthorn Pavlova exquisite) Service was very personable & professional. Could not fault a thing. Fabulous meal, wonderful evening.

Beautiful grounds, a really great shop and the Leaping Hare restaurant was fantastic! We had a two course lunch, and it was absolutely exceptional. The trout starter was the standout, but all dishes were delicious - we also had some lovely Wyken white wine and it all cost the same as very average Mediterranean restaurant we went to the day before in Bury St Edmunds! Couldn't recommend this place enough, delightful.

My friend and I had breakfast which was very nice. It cost a whopping £42 odd, although she did have a croissant too which was £4.95! Service was OK, bit slow. Atmosphere OK too, noticed many people not talking, just on their ipads!

What a restaurant :) Our 4th or 5th visit and sat here enjoying the wood burner and a very fine glass of Wyken produced cocktail. If you have never eaten here then make the detour it's definitely our favourite restaurant and we're 70 miles from home. Fantastic menu of British classic dishes with locally sourced ingredients served in a beautiful English setting.

You go to a restaurant and risotto is on the menu. You know it can be a disaster...or it can be sublime. We the mushroom risotto was absolutely sublime.... completely umptious. On top of that everything else was bang on. A very good lunch, thank you

Absolutely love it here, don’t live far away and have planned to go for ages for some Pizza. It was delicious. The farm shop was lovely and bought a bottle of wine, I still haven’t tried it and I hope it’s good. I would also like to go back and see the garden plus the woodland walk. A vineyard tour is also on my list. You can see the vineyard on the road from Ixworth to Walsham Le-Willows, it puts a smile on my face every time. So beautiful. I may even try out the restaurant, that’s meant to be very nice. But overall just coming for the pizza is definitely worth it! Plus I love the Llamas with the sheep!

I have been at Wyken Vineyards several times for celebrations at the Leaping Hare, and It's totally worthy. High-quality food from local produce, great local wine, and beautiful gardens (check before visiting them as they close some months a year). It has a lovely gift shop with a good selection of craft products. If you're looking for a rural and elegant place to eat and visit, this is the one to be.

Well we revisited them today. I was treated by my number 1 daughter. Not really an issue but look at the cups. My daughter's was the large one. Full of hot chocolate. Mine was a white coffee. Not too big an issue (see what I did there) I could have another. Not saying I sulked but those that know me well..... Then the food arrived, plentiful and great quality. Tried them on a Sunday with the whole family. We sat in the barn enjoying Venison 🍕 and Croque Monsieur. Plus of course coffee. Not forgetting a portion of chips. All I can say is the food was the best of type I have had. The coffee was also up there. The pizza oven chef made the whole event even more enjoyable with his quips and brevity. We will return, and soon.

Everything from the greeting when we arrived and though to the bill at the end the service was just right, not too fussy but attentive. The food was of very good standard though out and seasoned and played very well. Well done everyone and we will be back for sure.

Posting a low-star review in the hope they can regain their once highly-rated status. Paying a premium price means you should get premium service and food quality. Sadly not the case. Although the staff were friendly and attentive, it’s the attention to detail that makes the difference. Having the food presented to you by the server and being asked who’s the steak is very poor form. The staff should not have to ask whose plate is for which guest…they should know already. The food this time was not a patch on previous visits. Describing the steak as Retired Dairy Cow Sirloin is I guess in the eyes of the chef a positive spin, but in reality means the meat is old, grizzly and unfit to be served as a premium cut. The other meals in the group were just about passable. So, in short, our previous experiences have been wonderful, but this visit, not so much. A definite C- must try harder.

On this occasion we just visited the shop, which is full of a real variety of items from books to beer, trinkets to toys and local honey to lamps. We usually find something we want to buy. Great for gifts and cards too.

Very pretty place with a great gift shop! Eggs Benedict was nice but could have some green on the plate. Cooked breakfast was nice with a fancy take on it. Good quality mushrooms, nice poached egg, baked beans were more like a well seasoned bean stew? Delicious! But not as wet as a traditional breakfast, so felt a bit dry as you didn’t have a lot of mop up with your bread. Nice flat white and pot of tea also!

Lovely, family fun hotel with friendly staff… I always enjoy staying there when visiting Suffolk

We have just experienced the most laid back, comfortable and welcoming establishment. I wish we could have stayed longer. Every member of staff, from the delightful Quintin, breakfast ladies and even the laundry man were superb. No airs and graces, simply fine hospitality and friendly people. We were fortunate to be given one of the ground floor apartments in the courtyard. The facilities are great and the apartment, spacious. Very comfortable indeed! Bed was very good. Breakfast was delivered by lovely staff and meant that we could totally relaxed. Maybe this is a service which could be offered after covid restrictions? It made such a difference to our stay. Great breakfast too. On a personal note, I would prefer to have the choice of unsmoked bacon. This was SUCH an enjoyable, relaxed, comfortable stay. I would love. To return. Thank you to all. XXX

I recently stayed at The Abbey Hotel as I needed to attend a course at West Suffolk Hospital. I loved my stay! The rooms are very clean, comfortable and homely. There are so many thoughtful touches - dressing gowns, slippers, tea, mugs, biscuits, WiFi. The bedding was white and clean, plus lovely soft, snowy white towels and a hot shower. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are nice places to sit outside. Breakfast was great - perfect porridge and a wonderful selection of hot and cold items. I enjoyed a walk into Bury St Edmunds in the evening. It was my first time to the area. It's such a quaint, pretty place and The Abbey Hotel is perfectly situated for exploring. Highly recommend and I am already looking forward to returning this week whilst another course at the hospital.

A charming place to stay - couldn't stay in the main hotel due to covid but had a very pleasant two night stay in the self contained St Botolph's Cottage. The cottage is rustic but the bathroom and kitchenette provide you with everything you need. Very nice living room with vaulted ceiling and bedroom on the mezzanine. Be aware that the steep staircase in this period property won't be for everyone. My only negative comment would be that I felt the place could be cleaner, there was quite a bit of dust in places, but I would still recommend this place.

Firstly if you are driving there is a street across that allows you to target your approach a little more comfortably and park in the car park between the two pink buildings ...as for my experiance and once the above was navigated myself and my partner entered the the hotel via the car park...we were met by a very welcoming chap and noticed the walls be speckled with artifacts and board games which is a lovely touch. We were given good advice about things to do and were directed to a very comfortable room which was complete with glasses ( large enough for a proper glass though more were available in the lobby should we wish) dressing gowns,slippers non of which would fit me being a large chap and a lovely ambiance...had lovely sleep and love time in Bury, however, the morning which started with the shower screen detaching was made in forgettable by the breakfast...we were warmly greeted and my request for " enought tea to sink a battle ship" was fulfilled by a wonderfully warm young lady who cooked a lovely fresh breakfast of superb quality. Bury is good the Abbey is one of the jewels.

I can't praise the owner and staff here enough. The rooms were well equipped, comfortable and immaculately clean. Quentin went above and beyond by helping me manhandle a 17ft trailer in to a parking space during torrential rain without being asked to, and he took the time to answer my questions about the building and its history. The breakfast was very good and again the staff were helpful and very approachable.

Staying here with Greene King. Such a lovely hotel and lovely staff. The guy who checked me in was so lively and helpful, and the lady serving breakfast is an absolute treasure x

This hotel is a treasure not only quaint olde world style with beams etc but inside the rooms modern and all the mod coms little touches like mugs teacups teapot make it even better staff are great friendly the owner is such a lovely guy so accommodating and so many engaging. Breakfast was fabulous lovely lounge also to sit in and read a newspaper or book or chat with friends. Lovely little garden.

Apex in Bury St Edmunds is a very good venue for a night out. Plenty of parking good bar area and exceptional clean. The staff are very helpful and polite. I would highly recommend going to this venue they have some very good performers

Great atmosphere, 500 seater theatre, there is two bars and a food and drink area. Great shows, The Kinks, Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Leee John, all appearing soon.

Best cakes ever, however cashless payments only!!!! When asked why, waitress said "to limit contact" 🤣🤣🤣🤣Hello, you've just touched my cappuccino, cake, sandwich, cutlery and serviettes, however you don't want to touch my cash! 🙄🙄🙄 Use your brains before embracing the Great Reset!

Great venue to see pretty much anything and there is always a good line up of gigs and shows throughout the year. Drinks prices are too high but that, in line with every venue, is the norm. It was like £10 for a small coke and archers and lemonade.... Come on people, that's too high especially when the Cola was from a tap and watered down. But this, again, is the same as every venue and pub going. Price to see a gig was £20 for a balcony seat.

Great little venue, relatively intimate but still big enough to enjoy a big show. Spacious and didn't feel cramped even with a sold out show. Upper balcony had surprisingly good views, for the fact it was so high up. Acoustics weren't great the higher up you got, probably best in the back of the seated stalls.

We went to see a comedy show here. The acoustics are really good and seating in the stalls was comfortable with plenty of legroom. 2 bars and a big space on the upper floor where people can congregate. Toilets on 2 levels and coped with a capacity crowd well. A very modern interior likened to bc an upturned Ark. A really good venue

This is me was such a brilliant show. Giovanni is a brilliant entertainer. Had really good seat and comfortable.. Looking around I don't think there would have been any seat with a poor view. Definitely recommend the venue.

It's a really great venue. Modern, clean, and acoustics are very good. Nice bar, friendly staff & some class acts. The ELO Experience was particularly good.

First visit to this gem of a theatre. What a surprise, plenty of legroom, nice wide seats, well tended check in with knowledgeable staff. All very civilised. Parking within a couple of hundred yards, cafe that is actually open and sells real coffee. Top venue, great sound system and only 25 minutes from our house, brilliant

Second visit to the Apex for a concert. First time was very good, the main area was unseated, great for dancing and the band and music was excellent. This time for Joanne Shaw Taylor it was seated. Sound quality was poor, the music drowned out her singing. This combined with it being all seated meant it lacked atmosphere. We watched a concert rather than joining in it. We will probably go to the Apex again but try and choose unseated concerts and hope the sound quality is better.

Attended to see Ochestra Baobab in action. Parking was easy, short walk to The Apex, warm friendly officials ushered us in. Really nice venue with comfy seats and plenty of legroom for the tall folks. And space for dancing too. Highly recommended.

Lovely venue and the fiddle festival was excellent. My Seafood platter was perfect however my friends cured meat came with no bread, I checked the menu and it stated crisp bread with with olive oil and balsamic as well as artichoke hearts which were also missing. When i mentioned it we were eventually given thick slices of white loaf, no butter no olive oil etc. I mentioned again as it was very dry and were given a jug of oil. Bit disappointing as the platters are £17 . Not sure I would book these again.

First time there but a cracking venue. Small enough to feel intimate but big enough to attract decent bands. Definitely recommend going there if you can.

Had a brilliant 'step back in time' evening watching Walk right back...EVERLY brothers tribute band. They were terrific and sat upper balcony gave us great views.

A great venue. Excellent views of the stage from almost all seats (there are a couple of limited view seats upstairs). Also, great pre-show platters. Not a full meal, but a very tasty "light bite".

It's a lovely modern venue with great sight lines and good sound. But the bar charges London prices for flat lager that tastes like a rat died in it! There are plenty of better pre- and post-show drinking options just a short walk away.

Beautiful area with lots of beautiful lakes, pathways and for all the bird watchers it’s amazing place to come to. Stunning views and peaceful walks around the area. Lots of nice viewing points to get opportunity just to bird watch or just have a nice view over the lake. You can also bring your food with you and have a picnic after long walk or there is very nice cafe with delicious coffee and cakes.

Great hides, lovely walking though we could have walked further. Plenty of car parking. A nice little play area. On site cafe with snack options, not a huge selection but a nice little treat, looks like there are normally sandwiches though none available when we visited so can't comment. All staff very friendly.

Endless lakeside and forest paths full of wildlife. A lovely quiet place to relax and enjoy nature before getting nice, warm drink. Binoculars to rent was a nice touch too.

A lovely place for a walk. Lots of wildlife. You might see a kingfisher. There are beautiful reflections in the water when the sun is out.

Such a beautiful place! Perfect if you can't walk too far as there's several hides quite close together, each giving beautiful views of the lake. Saw lots of species of duck, Egyptian Geese, Canada goslings, Oyster catchers, Lapwing, muntjac fawn and much more! Will definitely return!

This place is a must go for bird watchers. There is a visitor centre with nice little caffe inside. We loved our day here. Don't forget to bring your binoculars and camera lenses.

Suffolk wildlife Trust proving how beautiful nature can be with a lot of hard work. A great day out for a day visit or a pit stop to stretch the legs.

This was Lackford Lakes, a beautiful reserve with several lakes, well placed hides, lovely walks. I've recommended to parents as the walks aren't next to the water, so they're safer for wandering kids, and the hides are kid- friendly At one of the hides we watched a family of Egyptian geese going for a stroll, only slightly concerned by inquisitive lambs, so cute! We had a lovely lunch at the visitor centre cafe too.

Unplanned visit (I was wearing loafers!), but a very pleasant hour or so wandering around. The trails are clearly marked and well maintained (important when you have the wrong footwear), and there are several hides including a 2 storey one! Nice shop and tea room with views over one of the lakes. Plenty of birdlife, plus deer. Will definitely return, but with the correct footwear and decent bins. No admission charge but £3 donation suggested.

Beautiful hidden gem! If you enjoy watching nature there is no better place. If you do not have binoculars they do rent some. Once your hooked to continue watching wildlife they have other binoculars available for purchase. Just a few pictures I took on my first trip here.

Short walk around here hoping to catch murmerations but wrong time of year. Good little cafe. Very popular for twitchers, lots of hides etc

Apart from road leading to the parking, it was amazing. Clean restrooms, great little coffee shop and gift store. Friendly staff. The trails are well marked and really well kept. All the hids along the trails are clean and well maintained. A really good experience.

Wonderful place, enjoyable experience. We arrived before 10 am. The car park has a handful of cars. As the sky starting to clear up, the footpath leading to Steggall’s hide gets more and more enjoyable. The autumn color leaves make you feel warm on a chilly morning, and watching sunshine through the woodland is like watching a kaleidoscope. The fungi are the big trees of grass forests, and the crayfish are the beasts of the stream. Moreover, all the facilities are well managed, thanks to the staff.

Overall our experience was pretty shocking. You have to question a business that charges a 4 month old baby entry when all she would have done is sleep or sit on our lap. It’s bad enough charging adults entry when you’re bound to make money from the overcharging food and drink anyway. The main big slide was shut, little to no staff around when needed, the slides that were open were sticky and useless very little enjoyment to be had. Go to Go Bananas in Colchester instead 100% better.

This place is huge! We got lost a few times and ended on the big slide. Huge space for children to run around and the skating looked nice too. Only downside was the check in, which was very slow and the serving of the food at the party we attended was a bit of a let down too. But apart from that it's a great place

Have been taking our 2yr old here for over 6 months now, He absolutely loves it. A very large under 4 area which occasionally older kids spill into, but you get that at anywhere. We always book online because it's quite common you get stuck behind someone at the entrance who hasn't and they tend to be quite strict on not letting people in when it's at capacity - which is a good thing! That being said, There is enough adult seating that we have never not been able to find an empty table. Good choice of bottle/can drinks and snacks etc plus a half decent coffee. 👌

Great venue, note it does get warm!! Free parking on site. Skating rink is big, skate hire available and loud music which gives a great atmosphere. Soft play is huge and lots of fun things to do. Big enough for adults if going round with the little ones

Booked a last minute Saturday morning at soft play for the family booking an early slot highly advised. It’s a great size venue with decent facilities. That being said the place could use a little attention to detail. Lots of the ball tubes are blocked and thus do not work and the vertical slide was shut all morning. Overall it was good though and we’d be back.

We love that this venue has a huge play area suitable for our children (ranging from 2 to 12) and it also has a skating ring too. We have been a couple of times in the past few weeks, as its something fun for them to do and we do enjoy coming. The kids have throughly enjoyed themselves and we find the facilities great. I have given 3 stars because unfortunately each time we have been a few staff members have been rude. The first time was to my daughter, who is only 12, who was using the skate hire for the first time ever that day. However, after her skate session another member of staff was extremely kind to her. The second time was when we were waiting to order drinks and were ignored whilst i stood there and members of staff stood behind the counter chatting to one and other until the decided they would serve me. When they did serve me they were very abrupt and my middle child noticed the way they spoke too. I am understanding of many things but I find it difficult to understand how staff working in an area aimed for children feel it appropriate to be rude to them or rude in front of them. This venue is good overall and the facilities are great, they look clean were in good condition and spacious. But, the way that some of the staff speak or behave to the customers and also the excessive wait for food needs addressing. There is nothing like this near us locally that fits our family well. But we don't want to pay to have our experience marred by things like this.

We had my daughter’s birthday party here and I was very impressed with everything! They had a very kid friendly menu, very attentive staff, wonderful first aid, and they helped teach new skaters some tips and tricks. Everything was clean and we will be returning.

Good skating and play area, food was slow and way to small, hot dog didn't fit the bun, no cheese in cheese burger 2 pieces of chicken in a meal. Overall good place don't get the food.

It was only after I fell, and badly hurt myself, that I was offered safety equipment - wrist guards, knee pads and helmet. Turns out that is offered free as standard with the boots - that is not made clear on the website or on arrival. We were just thrown some boots by a mindless teenager. Ordering food was another headache of a long queue with one person taking orders (that took twenty minutes alone) followed by another half an hour for some rather unpleasant looking food to finally arrive. If the excuse was that the food took so long because "it's fresh to order" then that was not apparent from the appearance. On the upside, the parking attendant was excellent and rink staff helpful.

Very impressed, its huge with plenty to do ! There's 3 different sections on the soft play: under 2's 2years - 5years 5years plus Plenty to keep all the kids busy, ball canons, huge slides, little tiny slides, nets, ramps, steps, tunnels. There's plenty of tables to sit on and order food (table service). I thought the food and drink selection was decent and not awfully priced ! I'll definitely be going again as I felt it was a fair price for a 3 hour session and it'll felt it was very clean and well run, the staff where friendly and very helpful with a pleasant smile :-). We arrived at 10am and it wasn't busy at all, it got busier as we was leaving 12pm -1pm There's also an area for roller staking which looked rather good with music and lighting effects, u can take your own skates or hire then.

No parking. Had to queue outside in the rain to get in. When we did get in it was 25 minutes into our two hour session already. They did extend the session by 15 minutes to try to compensate. When ordering lunch they were out of strawberry milkshake, I needed to ask the children what they wanted instead, had to queue again for ages and bought a chocolate milkshake only to be told they didn't have any after I had already paid. Had to find the children again to find out what they wanted. When I asked for a refund and a cheaper item on place and some sort of compensation for my wasted time I was offered nothing and told they couldn't do anything. Worst customer service. This place does not care about it's customers at all.

I attended as part of a private function and in spite of being considerably older than your normal participant and a lot less mobile, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I looked at the mass of stairs and felt I wasn't going to be able to join in at all, but I bypassed the stairs and climbed around much more gently, came down two slides including a very dark enclosed one with great enjoyment. The ball pond was brilliant 🤣😂! A great way to spend a Sunday evening xxx

There has got to be a better system to get people in. Paid for a 2 hour session, got there to a parking nightmare as it’s so busy and then a 30 minute cue, to be told that there’s a 2 hour limit and we only had 1.5 hours left; which I understand, but we had just been in the que and 4 families were served in front of us. The exit was clogged up with both people try leave and also come in. The Que was so long. The location and system for entry just doesn’t work and leads to frustration

Came here 2 weekends ago with my son for a party and he enjoyed every moment of being there. Didn't really get a chance to see the prices for the cafe but there's always a next time... Definitely going to bring him back again!

Poor and untrutworthy service. After having issues by was of not receiving a promotional item that should have been supplied with a phone purchase, i've had to attend the branch numerous times (upwards of 6) to try and resolve accompanied by numerous phone calls to the store which are usually ended with a promise of a call back which very rarely happens. Each and every time i get told a different story with staff constanly disputing other members of staff/managers versions of events accompanied by snide remarks against each other. It's genuinely the worst service i've ever received from a phone company and from an instore perspective it's been the most unproffesional back stabbing atmosphere i've ever witnessed. This store needs looking Into. In addition the Advertising Standards Authority will need to be notified with relation to a promotional offer O2 are simply not fulfilling. Still no further forward almost 5 months on from purchase. Avoid.

Today we popped into the Bury St Edmunds branch with my 85 year old mother and we served by the excellent Miguel . He was so kind helpful and informative. Had problem with phone. Had to Queue and it was a week end. Ok as I was not on a Parking Meter. Very friendly and helpful. But the best was yet to come when my problem was soughted out !! For this very kind gentlemen nothing was too much trouble. A Big Thank You.

Came in to ask if my phone would work in America, as I'm travelling there soon. We were greeted by Lauren, who was so friendly, polite and extremely knowledgeable, with a great positive attitude. Turns out my phone was only covered for use in Europe, but she instantly knew exactly what to do and offered me a quick solution. It was honestly so refreshing to receive some excellent customer service, as in other shops that day I had been served by rude, gloomy people. Thank you for resolving my problem so fast and making my day a bit brighter :)

Thanks to Brad today when I quickly popped into the Bury St Edmunds 02 store he was able to fix a technical problem with my phone in a very helpful and friendly manner. A couple of years ago with different staff I had a much worse experience at the same shop and I vowed I never step foot into that shop again but I'm glad I did today and I was very glad not to see the member of staff who worked there the last time and who was so rude to my wife. Thanks again Brad.

I applied for a contract on this shop last december and i have a deposit refund which they told me that I will received in my bank account after 3 months which this month of March. Then I found that they transferred it in my O2 account which I couldn't withdraw. I called the customer care last friday but there was no answer so i decided to go straight to the store. When i went there, they just told me to call the customer care. But I was calling since friday and no one answered my call!!! 😡😡😡

A lovely park with great walks. A wide variety of different tree species which creates a spread of many colours. Different paths and routes marked out for different areas. lots of wildlife and places to explore. A great place to visit for all the family including the dog. There is a small cafe by the carpark and some picnic benches if you want to take your own picnic.

Absolutely beautiful walk at Nowton Park with the family. Seeing all the daffodils out was amazing! And there are hundreds. Great park for kids to run around while you have tea or coffee.

Nice place for adults, dogs and kids alike. Wooded walks, open fields a children's play area and a cafe. Parking is pay and display.It has pretty much everything.

Perfect family day out, pushchair friendly all the way around. Brilliant Children’s park and a lovely on site cafe, parking isn’t too bad either but be aware it fills up quite quickly on the weekends.

Great Walk with family and dogs, all different ways to go so lots of exploring. Nice little coffee shop with a range of products including ice cream for the dogs, ice cream stall outside shop as well as in the cafe. Very clean toilets. Dog bowls all Round the seating area and dog bins scattered all round so very clean and tidy place to visit. Would definitely recommend going

Spent three very pleasant hours following the yellow route round the park, stopping to get lost in the maze (open May to October only), collect pine cones and pose with the large wooden panda. Most of the paths were beaten earth but it was a damp day and I could have done with my walking shoes for some of the (optional) diversions into the woodland. Parking was reasonable: £2 for up to two hours, £3 for all day. Stopped off for an ice cream at the coffee shop at the end. Loos available.

This was a nice little find just on the edge of Bury St Edmunds. There was plenty of parking at a reasonable cost, a cafe and toilets on site and some well signed walks. I looked at the maze and walked to the western arboretum and stopped for a little sit by a pond. I enjoyed eating my packed lunch here and will definitely come back.

Visited twice in August. Fantastic place for everyone. Great wooded areas and trails for the dog walkers, large open spaces and a maze for the kids, cafe and car park (Carpark fee applies, pay by Ringo App).

Great park. Large car park. Planned route walks with details of lengths and times on map board. Cafe and outside vendor selling lunch, ice creams and drinks. Picnic benches both in the cafe area and on the green next to the car park. Large open grass areas for playing. Tree maze 10 minutes walk from car park. A really pleasant day out.

Fabulous space. Large woodland for a walk. A maze. Good sized car park. Coffee shop and a fantastic large play area. I'm sure there was a ton more to discover but our little ones legs couldn't hack it.

Our favourite place to go on the weekends, not just to walk our dog, but to spend time around nature. It have a lovely coffee, playground, toilets, pic nic benches, football pitches, a couple of tennis courts and a big car park. Note: The car park is pay and display, unless you pay the annual pass.

We went to the sci fi event. It was very accessible, I used a mobility scooter. The exhibits were very interesting with lots of information to accompany them. Fun for adults and children alike. We were also able to wander through the other areas of the museum and that included a clock exhibit, crime and punishment, (much of it local to Bury st Edmunds), a film clothing and props exhibit and much more. Tickets were £6.00 per person. Well worth the money. Would recommend.

Took our 2 grandchildren here, had a great time, they loved the black panther costumes, they were morbidly fascinated by the skin book and scalp. We had a fun time trying on the chainmail and gauntlets

SO INTERESTING! obsessed with the true crime section, and the art and clocks were incredible. A fantastic resource of history and vibrant. An excellent way to spend a couple of hours. Also the man in the clock room and lady on reception were incredibly kind and great to talk to

The museum was being re-arranged when we visited but there was still a lot of interesting items. Most interesting were the clocks and other timepieces

£7 entry, even for locals but concessions for students, disabled etc. lovely old building. Weird setup and as Bury St Edmunds has such a rich history I would’ve liked more than just a small area on the ground floor. Helpful and caring staff.

Small museum with collection ranging from bizarre to bemusing

Moyses Hall may be small but it houses a Warren of superb artefacts. The current Sci fi exhibition is really worth seeing

Never visited before but wanted to see the regular museum and the current modern art exhibition. Wasn’t disappointed… lots to see (crime & punishment, Suffolk regiment, Abbey history and clocks) but especially impressed with the range of modern art from Banksy, Tracey Emin, Grayson Perry and many more. I recommend being in the clock room around the top of the hour to hear the different chimes! All for £7… don’t delay, support this wonderful museum and visit!

Although living in Bury St.Edmunds for many years, I had not been here for over 20 years. I was pleasantly surprised what we found inside. Lots of local history and artefacts on show, as well as modern art, including pieces from ‘Banksy’, which were great to see. Alex was very knowledgeable and helpful during our time inside the museum. I would highly recommend a visit. We will return. Thank-you.

An absolute hidden gem in the centre of bury St Edmunds. I don't want to post too many photos as it would spoil the wonder of the place but the included post is one of the rarest original pieces in the crime and punishment section, even the Tower of London doesn't have an original. Either way, onto the experience, upon arriving you get your tickets or have the prepaid ones ready where you can either go in and explore as you wish or seek guidance (I highly recommend talking to those at the entrance, as they will talk with passion about what is available to view). Our group attended to view the conflict exhibits which were brilliant and some of the pieces were completely unexpected. Such as a weapon allegedly used to kill Bonnie and Clyde along with original pieces from the Battle of Fornham. There are even replica items you can touch, feel and try, which I imagine would be wonderful for children. As someone who is very keen on historical warfare it was just a wonderful experience and the additional sections were just as fascinating as the conflict aspects. I simply could not recommend this place more.

Mutiny in Colour is a Must See !! Phenomenonal exhibition & the Banksy collection's are something special. I would reccomend this to all.

Beautiful old building. A very knowledgeable gentleman told us the history of the building and also what was on display. Loads of fabulous art work. Lots of Banksy and Damien Hurst along with loads of other "pop artists". Very interesting. A lovely room full of old clocks of all descriptions. All in fabulous condition. There were other exhibits of local finds which was fascinating. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Staff was very welcoming and helpful when it came to comparing the different drinks they had. Very good quality and priced nicely.

I had a problem with my mini keg of beer which I purchased for my family this Christmas. I e-mailed Adnams in Bury St Edmunds this morning (Christmas Eve) expecting a response post Christmas. The team was absolutely brilliant and I had a replacement delivered to my door (an hour away) 4 hours later! EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE - many thanks team Adnams. Hope you all have a great Christmas!

The Bury store offers a range of items from their beers and spirits through to items for the kitchen. You can try a taste of various tipples at their tasting bar. The staff and friendly and the store is laid out well. Being a rea ale fan myself I would definitely recommend getting your hands on some Broadside, or any of their other bottled beers. For those wanting to drink with friends why not try one of their beer kegs? My wife is partial to the low alcohol wines! Pop in next time you’re near - you won’t regret it!

My go to place for beer and wine. Can’t think of a bad beer that Adnams produce. Southwold bitter my favourite unless they bring back Spindrift - come on Adnams! Knowledgable and qualified staff are always happy to provide help and tasting advice. Talking of tasting, the in-store tasting bar is a great idea. Never any pressure for tasting to become buying. Drinks on offer are changed regularly and often include specialty products from niche suppliers. Keep it up guys. 👍

I run a small mobile events bar for weddings and parties, so I need a lot of beer, wine and spirits. Tom and the team at Bury have always really helped me out, ensuring I get fast delivery, access to all the right stock and advice on the best products to stock. Always had good service from start to finish!

As well as Adnams fab ales and spirits, the wine selection is comprehensive and unusual plus the qualified staff are happy to suggest selections based on your taste. Lovely upbeat atmosphere!

I could say so much about this place... Quality products, local sourced and crafted drinks, the gin that made me drink and love that drink - Coper house, of course! There is always something special to taste, something new to discover, something unique to experience - Make your own gin!!! Last but not least - my most favourite for all Ghost ship pale ale, the only one I can drink and the only one that makes me happy! Don't miss any of their special events either - good value for money and the best Friday night start-up for the weekend! There is lot more in that place to explore, so just do not miss to include it in your tour when visiting the lovely Bury St Edmunds town.
