Must to visit place in Karlovy Vary. You can walk all the way up or cheat and use very unique cable lift. I was cheating of course. There is a small fee to be paid and off you go. Observation tower is walking distance from the cable lift station and there is a restaurant with the butterfly farm next to it. Entry to the tower is free of charge and there are steps up and down or lift in the middle. From there you can see the whole town of Karlovy Vary.

Absolutely stunning lookout. The lift was under maintenance apparently but i managed to climbed the 150 steps, it wasn’t that bad at all for average for healthy person. I went on Wednesday in November so there were no waiting times at all! Perfect! Went to their restaurant to refill the tummy, took some awesome photos in the beautiful autumn trees nearby. Worth it! If you dont visit here then you definitely do not officially explored karlovy vary town. Just make sure you take the right funicular/train, not the one in Imperial station as i made a mistake by going there. Tried to buy funicular ticket online but couldn’t find the button on the website. Czech website kinda sucks most of them.

Nice viewing point of Karlovy Vary. There is a lift that leads to it, but during my visit it wasn't working. There is a restaurant and a souvenir shop next to it, and for the kids a small playground and a butterfly house.

This tower stands at a scenic viewpoint from which you can see the forests and the mountains and the town of Karlovy Vary nestled in the valley below. Many of the visitors to Karlovy Vary over the centuries have visited here, including Goethe. A funicular takes up to the top of the hill the. You can take an elevator free of charge to go to the summit, there are also pleasant paths and hikes through the surrounding woods. There is also a restaurent and small zoo with many cute little piggies 🐷.

Went up in Winter. Be prepared for cold weather with high winds but totally worth it for the view! Make sure to climb the tower on the top of the hill as it is free and gives you a 360 degree view of Karlovy Vary and the surrounding countryside.

I visited this tower during a day tour. The views from the tower are beautiful. You will find an restaurant as well with some animals behind the building which was also nice to see. The restaurant staff are friendly and the capucino is good.

Lovely place to go atop karlovy vary, Czechia. There’s a funicular but also a somewhat medium level trail that will take you to the top. We enjoyed the views at the top and the kids enjoyed the playground. There’s also a restaurant and a butterfly museum there.

You can get there by lift or stairs. It has a spectacular 360° view of Karlovy Vary and surrounding areas. A must visit if you have a few hours! You can hike up from Karlovy Vary or take the lift car. From there you can hike down and enjoy nature.

It was one of the nicest towers I've visited in the EU. 150 wide steps, all uniform construction, too, plus they are completely enclosed. I like the signs telling you what is in the distance from each section of the lookout area. There's an elevator as well. I imagine maintenance funds come from the cable car fees (which were reasonable) from Karlovy Vary, just behind the famous Grandhotel Pupp.

Good observation point over old Karlovy Vary. It is reachable by feet over mild steep tracks over the hill or the one can purchase a ticket for a small up hill rope driven train. Observation tower has a lift and stairs, of course. For our great surprise - lift was free of charge.

Nice place that you can reach by funicular railway or by foot. There you can enjoi de view of Karlovy Vary from the top of the tower. You can enjoy good food outside or inside the restaurant. Also some nice butterflies and animals like (small pigs, pony, white peacock)

Overall i'd give this place five stars if the tour wasn't so short and quite boring. The massive indoor spring was super cool. The water that you could drink was hot and had minerals. (I preferably don't like it) And the people there spoke many languages and were quite nice. 👍

It said the tours were closed for the time we came there on January 4th. We can see a small portion of what's underground from the bridge but from what I have hear the caves are very special.

Nice place to hide especially when there is a rainy day. There are 3 thermals springs, the hottest in the area (72 Celsius) and the coolest (30 Celsius). There are some souvenirs shops, a toilet (10 kronen per person) and a couple of relaxing chairs. Also there is a coffee shop and if you want to sit and rest your feet for a while you can sit on the marble near the windows; it is warm.

I have been visiting the hot spring colonnade for many years and over the years it changed a lot and also some aspects didn't change at all. They always sold items here, like mineral water drinking cups, petrified roses, porcelain, and glass. Now there are a high number of stands with cheap Chinese stuff. The entire atmosphere was not pleasant and I got dirty feel from it. The colonnade used to be light, with clean glass and a lot of plants inside. There is no entrance fee and the colonnade closes at 6pm.

Karlovy Vary is a super peaceful little hilly town with beautiful landscape. Super amazing place..so many hot springs..do not forget to take a vessel with u to drink that natural mineral water.. it's tingy but good for health. Beautiful cafes along the river Tepla serving great food.

Great experience. Have been several times now and always enjoy it. Get amongst it, buy your little water sipper and then have some fun tasting all the different springs. There are 15 in total, all with varying flavours and temperatures. Find a good parking spot close enough to walk, toilets will all cost you 10kc. Lots of Russians here and plenty of rich people as well.

Our first "major" stop during our road trip back to Lithuania from Germany. We did not expect anything special, since it is winter period after all, how ever we ended up being surprisingly pleased. We have never been in Czech Republic before and so, we thought it is a good idea to take a peak inside of it as we drove back. And to be honest, it surely has its ups and downs. For example, the nature is really beautiful regardless of the fact that it is winter. But that is not what I am writing about. This natural spring fountain got us surprised. In the morning we just saw a large cloud of vapor coming out from the river and we went to investigate it. And then we saw that fountain, which occasionally spurs out some vapor. It was my personal first time encountering this type of a sight. However, it was not as spectacular as some may describe. But overall, a decent sightsee to see if you end up in Czech.

To most people it is an unique experience to visit the town and taste different types of spring water. These spring waters can be helpful to your health and will show effect after drinking continuously for 4 to 6 weeks. The place attracts many rich people all over the world each year from spring to autumn. It has many top class 5 star hotels. The most famous hotel is the Grand Hotel Pupp. It has been appeared in one of the James Bond movie.

Very beautiful small town which famous for its drinkable hot spring. The tasty was, ohhh, strange, you gonna should try it. Walking in the rain was so romantic. The only bad thing is we chose a hotel without parking place and swimming pool. The public spa closed at 2 pm for kids, we have to cancel the plan for swimming.

Good place to start your day. Drink hot Spring water and nice sitting arrangement inside the building.

However, Karlovy Vary known for mineral water and SPA is just a small part, so called old city. Beautiful and charming architecture but strongly commercialized to drain tourists.

I've been here once and I liked it. I am coming for the second time.It is very clean and tidy. The benefits of the massage were very good and the pain in my back and arms disappeared.

My visit to the Moser Glass Factory was one of the most interesting tours I've ever taken. You will find a small museum (where we unfortunately didn't have much time to spend there) filled with some of the most beautiful pieces of glassworks I've ever seen, a gift shop with items ranging from low-high, and a courtyard with some very interesting pieces of glass art. Eventually we made our way to the factory for a guided tour and it was unbelievable. The temperature inside the factory is well over 110 degrees while men are blowing, turning, shaping and cutting hot liquid glass into their end product. It is a process that didn't appear to have changed over the centuries. I would highly recommend a visit to this pearl of the Czech Republic. And if you can, afford yourself a small treasure from the Moser Glass Factory. It's a true Czech souvenir!

A visit to the Moser museum glass factory is well worth the trip. Although the factory is small, we had an english speaking tour guide who explained every aspect of the process in detail. The tour ended in the shop where you could buy various items handmade in the factory. They were quite expensive, however, after seeing that every piece is handmade it is understandable why.

Waste of time and you pay 5 euros entrance. The museum is the size of two rooms, you finish it in 3 minutes. The ones shown there are simple and not impressive at all. Next to it is a glass shop which is much better and free, but it's not worth visiting there either. Do not arrive

We visited on January 18.2024 Coming from the USA, I loved this European style museum, surrounded by little gift shops and a cukràzda/coffeeshop, where you can have little breakfast bites, cakes, sweats etc The museum was interesting, but most of the center of the tour was the Beherovka tasting, gives you a clue of the taste and made you happy. If you are in Karlovy Vary, I would suggest this tour.

A place always worth to visit 🙂 Just for a view bucks you can have a guidet tour with funny tasting afterwards. You learn plenty about the highly interesting history and background of this worldwide know liquor 🥃. Visiting the exhibition without a tour isn't possible. You should place a reservation a few hours before. Tours happen just a few times a day in selected languages. Student discount available and significant. You will get a discount at the shop with your ticket 🎟️. The shop offers the best price I could found in town and the guys there are nice 🙂. Free restroom 🚻 in museum. Cash (€, CZK) or creditcard 💳 possible.

We visited the museum which was superb. Really like the experience. The museum guide who was showing us around was very friendly.

The museum (or rather the visitors center) is one of the best I have been to. Everything is new and bright and aesthetic, there is a lot to see, most of the tour's parts are interactive, the tour guide was so nice and friendly and the bar at the end is very cool. If you're in Karlovy Vary, this is a must go. I would also mention that we are English speakers but we booked a Czech tour (because that's the only one they had at the time), but when we came and there were no Czech speakers in the group - the tour turned to be in English. Great experience.

There is only so much you can tell about a drink, út they do it in a very lovely way. Advise to pick up your Karlovy Vary Card, because this is one of the places you can visit for free with the card. A 2 days card is enough. The museum is nice, explains the drinks and you get a taste as well from all 4 types of Becherovkas. Good little gift store : you can buy all kind of merch from t-shirts to hoodies to limited edition Becherovkas.

An impressive looking Orthodox place of worship in Karlovy Vary The cathedral is done in beautiful Russian Orthodox style. The interior is done in a traditional fashion and services can be attended here. The icons are worth looking at and it is a good place to respectfully visit

Recently renovated with loads of gold leaves, the shiny tops of this luxuriously looking orthodox church are glistening like flames of gold under the bright Czech sun. Be careful not to wear shorts or you will not be allowed inside during Sunday functions.

One of the most beutiful charges I have ever seen, even compared to Rome, Paris, Israel and many other churches around Czechia and Germany. You can get there by car or walking (that I know of). The walk from the city center is almost exclusively stairs till you get to the deer jump. Is is really nice but can be a hard. After getting there, if you continue up, there are 3 city lookout points ( the highest is the place with the bust of Peter the great), a restaurant (closed when I visited) and a Cafe (only accepts cash). It is a nice walk.

Nice place to visit but nearby is also parking but unfortunatley not for tourists. The only way to go there is mid-high walk, what can be difficult for olders and parents with small kids. But still worth it to climb there.

Where’s the deer, you may ask? Well, according to chronicles, the city fathers took so long to decide who should create the sculpture of a deer to adorn the eponymous lookout that in the end, a private citizen took the matter into his own hands and paid instead for a statue of a chamois, a type of Alpine mountain goat, arguing that it was far more “realistic”. (No, mountain goats have never roamed the hills of Karlovy Vary, not even back in the day.) Anyway, it’s a lovely spot (confusingly, the actual “Jelení skok” lookout is located quite a bit higher than the statue, and offers more of a view than that enjoyed by the immortal chamois). Both are compulsory for any Wes Anderson enthusiast.

It’s a small exhibition of the butterflies. We found two birds and one turtle. There is a little pond. There are few types of butterflies. Some stuff is broken. The staff is friendly. The price is reasonable and it’s less on their web site.

It has almost dozen species of butterflies with most of them having a blue colour (excuse me for the lack of knowledge) The experience feels nice when butterfly lands on you, but the entire place is kind of depressing. Like some kind of prison for children. It's not a huge place and it feels like more of a breeding farm and money making thing than something that cards for its animals, though I am not an expert so I might be wrong

Very small room for the amount of animals and no place for them to get away from humans. The ramps leading to the entrance made me laugh, definitely not in any way wheelchair appropriate and far to steep. Glad they don't claim to be accessible though. The animals themselves were beautiful. The staff were also very friendly. The mirror before the exit was extremely handy, some of the butterflies seemed to like me and kept coming back. Sadly, quite a lot of dead or dying butterflies. Still a nice experience, but could be better.

We went by the Butterfly house after riding the funicular up to the Diana Tower. Walking into the "butterfly zone" is like stepping into a rainforest. It is slightly humid and warm with the peaceful sounds of the outdoors. There is a Koi Fish pond with a turtle, a bird, and lots and lots of butterflies! This experience is both entertaining and educational. We were able to observe a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. Entrance price was 6€ per person. Just remember to NOT touch the butterflies and watch where you step!

Amazing place, loved the butterflies, took amazing photos & short videos, outside there was peacock that was eating the cat’s food 😂 the staff were so nice & friendly. The only advise I have is not to stay till the end unless you have a car, I missed the last trip of the shuttle and had to walk back in the dark, it was such an adventure.

This was a very nice surprise on the top of the hill. The view is amazing here and the butterfly garden is beautiful. It is definitely worth visiting. The owner is nice and takes good care of the animals.

Stunning! Definitely worth a visit! The establishment have many different species. We loved the blue ones!

Great experience. Only downside is that they don’t take cards. (You can order tickets online)

Nice little place to spend a rainy afternoon with kids. Very warm inside, so be sure to remove coats before you enter.
