The Abbaye is stunning in its size, complexity and state of preservation. The amber sandstone against the greenery and skies is stunning. The cloister is wonderfully serene; just sit and imagine the monks walking and reading. It's not far from Narbonne, and you can Uber for around 27 euro each way. Make sure to arrange a pick-up with your driver before he departs. Leave yourself 3 hours to walk the Abbaye, set the gardens, and do a wine tasting. Great way to spend an afternoon.

One of the best abbeys i've ever seen. We arrived there in the afternoon after visiting Carcassonne. The abbey is completely surrounded by greenery. Windows' church are breathtaking. Strongly recommended.

Worth a visit, the tour was good but not cheap. The wine was a little young for our liking, so we put our bottles down for a future date. Cafe is very efficient, recommend you book if you want a restaurant meal.

The pinned location is slightly inaccurate. Once you find it, the abbey is great! Didn't realize how fast the grounds were, therefore we didn't budget enough time. You probably want 3-4 hours if you plan to walk around the whole grounds including the cross on the hilltop. We only had time for the Abbey and a very brief wine tasting. Walking around the Abbey and its adjacent garden was very nice!

Simply amazing! A wonderful place of beauty and peace. Well organized and easy to visit. Recommended with kids. I particularly liked the gardens full of roses and herbs and the cloister with a purple wisteria in full bloom.

You can visit its gardens and buildings, taste local wine and buy some bottles, have lunch in a local restaurant, listen to a concert that usually takes place regularly. History, wine, roses - wherever you’re looking for - there’s something for you. Additionally, it might be a great stage for a Harry Potter movie. There’s also a hiking trail but I’m going to go there next time.

Beautiful way to spend a few hours. It was not busy when we went and it took us 2 hours to stroll through. Parking was ample and though dogs are not allowed in, I found it nice that they had a few kennels you could store your dog in while you visited. There is a restaurant at the entrance and we grabbed a drink to go, they let us bring it inside. As you walk in toward the abbey, there are planters filled with all kinds of herbs. That area smelled so amazing. You show your ticket to the person at the abbey entrance and they scan it. We did not buy ours in advance but you can. There are guided tours but we just wanted to go at our own pace. It's a beautiful building and the gardens are serene. We got lots of great pics. Definitely a good choice for a sidetrip.

I flew in from Santa Barbara USA to find the city’s namesake. Immense ceilings in the finished parts. Roman ruins outside are very cool reminder if city’s history.

While waiting for our train in Narbonne we decided to walk around and take a visit to the cathedral - we are so glad we did. There is so much history here and it is so grand for its age and location. There is a leaflet inside the entrance in different languages that explain everything you need to know. It is worth the visit and the time to go inside.

I have visited Markets all over the world, and this one in Narbonne is as good as any I have found. In a historic Market building it has everything you might need from seafood to exotic spices and anything to fill your grocery basket. As well there are stalls where you can get a drink and lunch. It is at times crowded, and when we visited there were no COVID restriction in place or masks being worn.

Tourist. 1st time. Absolutely stunning market in an old historic building in downtown Narbonne. We came with our French friends. They said this is a “very French” place to go. Visit during the week when it is not as busy. You can barely walk during the weekends but well worth the visit. You can buy anything here: food, drink, bar, gifts, soap, whole bean coffee, bread. The vegetables are the biggest I have ever seen and smell so good. So many kinds of Mediterranean fish. Meat butcher shop. So many olives and tapenade. Nuts. We bought soap gift sets for 5 euros to take home.

Very friendly welcome, I visited Narbonne with the idea of checking everything roman related that I could find, so got my ticket from Narbo Via. I loved the walk from the train station to the site itself. A quick introduction about the site can be found in the main hall. I can read french, but not everybody may do so, so I would recommend maybe putting something in English/Spanish as well. Down under is very well maintained, nice and cool on a hot summer day. Another recommendation would be to put some replica in some of the storage rooms to give a sense of how it would be back in the day; you could only see that at the end of the walk. Recommended if you are interested in the day to day of the roman city in Narbonne.
