For the mechanical-minded and water-loving sorts, this is a must visit. There are many family-oriented activities in and around the Falkirk Wheel. Great for a day out, as there is a cafeteria and store on site. There seems to be ample low cost parking. There is no other cost to visit, unless you take a boat ride on the Wheel and canal, or participate in one of the other on-site activities.

An astonishingly beautiful piece of engineering that's more like a work of art. The views from the top are fantastic. Don't forget to check out the light show in the Falkirk Tunnel a short distance along the Union Canal heading towards Edinburgh - magical.

I have lived here all my life and never been here. I wasn't disappointed. The boat ride was really interesting and was good to learn all about it. The crew were amazing and very knowledgeable. The views are spectacular. It is definitely something to experience. There is a cafe with outdoor seating so you can enjoy a coffee and cake whilst watching the wheel in action. And of course a gift shop with plenty of items. A great day out for all the family.

Really amazing! Very cool bit of engineering, and the park for the kids within the facility is fantastic. Caters really well to families and the amenities are well kept. Really looking forward to taking a canal boat down the Falkirk wheel in the future. Definitely recommend.

An original place to spend time with the family. It has a very large playground and the walk around the place is very good. You can see how the boats rise on the wheel to continue their journey through the canal. it is worth the visit. Don't miss the colored tunnel located in the upper part of the canal.

Stunning piece of engineering designed to raise and lower boats between (I hope I have this right) the Falkirk Canal and the Forth and Clyde canal. Getting to and walking all round the Wheel is free but you can pay to do a boat ride that takes you up and down in the wheel or you can just watch this happening. There's a large a friendly cafe there. Not very easy to access on public transport. I took a train from Edinburgh and cycled. I've included a video of the wheel in action.

A wonderful piece of architecture. I was full of admiration for how it worked and it still works very well. My journey here took me 5 hours, I was so happy that I finally managed to see it and the weather was good. I recommend spending time there with your family, There is a playground, a shooting range, and water balls and I plan to finish building water rockets for children to shoot at. Inside there is a shop, 1 large restaurant and a stand for buying sandwiches and coffee, toilets and beautiful works of local artists. The area has 2 access roads, 3 large parking lots, and pedestrian and bicycle paths. The entire area is green, but wear a warm jacket or sweatshirt because sometimes it is windy and you will be cold. I recommend it, I will come here again. The price of parking is favorable, see the photo in the gallery how much it costs to park.

Went to visit the Falkirk Wheel in January 2024. Unfortunately the wheel was under maintenance work but most of the wheel was lit up and we were still able to visit and see the wheel. Lots of fun too. Also huge respect’s to the owners of the site as there was maintenance happening the car park was permitted as free. Huge thanks to the respects there!

Lovely site,something I've wanted to see for sometime. We were able to park beside the shop being a blue badge holder! As the cafe was packed we bought the most amazing hot chocolate from the mobile coffee van, delicious!

As a tourist destination this has everything you expect. Expensive coffee, expensive food a gift shop and something to look at. To be fair, parking is free and there is lots for the kids to do, just happens that we're adults so I have to be fair in review. The kids playground was nice and if you wanted to avoid paying parking at The Kelpies they are just a 90 minute walk along the canal. It was interesting to see the Wheel spin but unfortunately due to high winds boat tours were not running. If it's your first time in Scotland, got kids with you or you're particularly interested in Canals this place is an obligatory stop.

Great engineering matter. Must see near to Edinburgh, Stirling or Glasgow. Wait for moving, a ship flows in, the carousel moves and the ship is high above you and goes on direction glasgow. Great experience. I also recommend taking more time for a longer walking around the wheel. The nature scenes with views are beautiful, good for your healthy and they are amazing places for your photography. After walking don't hesitate to refresh yourself by a coffee in restaurant next to wheel.

We recently visited her in May half term, we managed to get parked fairly easily, there is a charge for the car park. The wheel itself is very interesting to see, we booked for a ride on the boat up the wheel and along part of the canal and back. It was reasonably priced and you receive information about the wheel and history of canals on board. We really enjoyed it as a family. We also played on the water balls on the surrounding water which the children loved and the little boats. The staff were friendly and we didn't have to wait long. There was also a play park there. There was other activities you could book there such as bike hire and archery however we didn't book these. There was toilets, food and coffee vans as well as a shop for souvenirs. We had a fab few hours here and would definitely recommend a visit.

If you are into amazing engineering then this is a must see if you're anywhere nearby. Essentially it is a boat lift which lifts canal boats from the lower canal up 35m to a higher canal via a huge wheel, thus avoiding the need for multiple locks. Plenty of information and a visitor centre, plus well laid out canal side walks linking various places of interest and local towns and villages. Very interesting.

An engineering marvel and must see , enjoy a trip on barge (do book it) or just walk around the park. Walk to the top and see the barges load up , you can also walk though the tunnel and over the top back. At the bottom there’s a kids water play area (see pics) and you can also hire SUPS.

Good signposts to get to the car park. ANPR is used for the car parking. Drop off is free, take the ticket at the barrier, drive down, drop off, drive back to the barrier, scan the ticket and drive out. 20 minutes is the limit. Payment for parking is via ticket validation at the yellow machines, card only. This is an amazing piece of engineering and physics. We managed to get tickets for the last trip of the day, which was just a full rotation of the wheel as there was not enough time to have the full trip before the attraction closed. The guides on they trip boat were fantastic, they were informative, funny and ensured everyone was safe and enjoyed the trip. There are quite a few activities around the area including the Antonine Wall, the canal tunnel, walking trails, water balls, shooting range, a playground or you can just watch the boats. Inside the visitor centre there are information boards on how and where the wheel was made and built. There’s also a restaurant, a gift shop, toilets and a parking payment machine. It’s well worth a visit, we can’t wait to go back to do the full trip, but this time book a trip time in advance.

We visited on a wet day but this meant it was quiet, great gift shop and cafe and you can book a boat trip to experience the wheel in motion. Really is worth watching it in action. Lots of side attractions to spend more time. Free to see the wheel and only needed to pay for parking, £3 for as long as you needed, definitely worth a visit.

It wasn’t very clear how the place works. We looked around for ticket prices or times for things but wasn’t easy so sort of gave up. Tried to play mini golf but couldn’t get the kit. Other people were playing and we went to the hire place and it said golf was opening soon go there, but golf had a sign to go to hire. Gave it 10 mins and gave up as patience of a nearly 3 year old is thin 😂 Everything looked closed so maybe just bad timing. Looks like in the summer could be really good. Visited April Easter holidays.

An amazing feat of engineering. We were given a lot of information by one of the staff a really well worth trip. Unfortunately, when we were there, the basin was drained whilst they undertook engineering work. Buy still worth the trip.

Excellent solo visit midweek during half term. Admired watching the wheel operate from the hill (near segway) before descending to the visitor center. Grabbed a delicious macaroni cheese for lunch, the cafe was buzzing, lovely friendly staff. Booked the last 90 min wheel boat ride. There was clearly lots of activities to keep you busy, but I just admired this marvel of engineering and its many photographic opportunities. The tour was great and well worth doing. Something quite surreal about ascending and descending silently afloat. Plenty of parking, clean, ample toilet facilities, cafe and coffee bar with indoor seating, and gift shop.

One of a kind engineering wonder that will make you wonder what's next? A great place for kids and friends to explore. Try the gift shop and don't forget to buy some tablets. No not the iPad or android kind. It's a snack. Ask the store keeper.

Although we have been a few times, the weather was good enough for us to pretend we were tourists and it didn't disappoint! We went with our now 6 year old son. There were plenty of activities for him. He chose to do the wee paddling boats, and then we played with the archimedes water pumps, which im so glad are back in action! Super cute! Then we went into the playing area until it was our time for the boat trip. The ticket was a bit pricey, but we thoroughly enjoyed it! The guy doing the commentary was funny and engaging. Got some stunning photos! 100% recommended to both tourists and non-tourists! #falkirk #falkirkwheel

Unfortunately we visited the Wheel during its maintenance time, but a friendly Scottish gentlemen with a black Labrador informed us that it would be back in operation in March. I wasn’t bothered it wasn’t running, just looking at it and reading about the facts of the Wheel was enough for me. There was a gift shop and coffee shop in the visitor centre so it was nice to enjoy a coffee and scone and looking at the Wheel. We shall definitely come back to see it again. It’s worth noting that if you are a Blue Badge holder like my fiancé is, parking is free when the Wheel is operating. In the winter months the barriers are up so any vehicle is free which I think is really nice. I’ve put I recommend booking tickets in advance purely because when the Wheel is operational again I expect it’ll be busy, so save yourself some time and get the tickets online. Can’t wait to come back!

An amazing place to visit. These sculptures are brilliant. Set in a lovely country park next to the canal. Easy level walking on well maintained pathways. FREE parking too 👍The visitor centre, gift shop and cafe are all worth visiting. Good value for money gifts, good coffee, lots of information on the history of the Kelpies and a children's activity area as well. I don't think you'd get a day out of visiting but definitely a few good hours.

Lovely place to go and visit. You can, of course, see them from the motorway, but if you get the chance to park up (free parking) and have a little walk along the river to see this its definitely worth it.

It is such a great place to visit. The massive statues is built by using a some kind like a steel materials. You can enjoy the view with calm atmosphere there. There are small store selling snacks and coffee at the side. The place is far from the train station, you need to take a bus or taxi to get there from train station.

It's a lovely place for a picnic and photo sessions. There is a wonderful picturesque walk by the canals. It was a bit boring to listen to the tour guide. Listening to how much metal they have used for building the horses was irrelevant because you come here to enjoy the ambience and the scenery

An interesting pair of sculptures. It's some sort of Mafia memorial. 😉🤣 There are guided tours that will answer all of your questions about the sculptures. No matter what you think of horses, they're magnificent. Just be careful where you stand while taking pictures, as several birds roost in the statues, and...well, you know what birds do after they eat. There are toilets, refreshments and a souvenir shop in the main building. Plenty of other snack choices from vendors in the area of the sculptures.

We visited the Kelpies on two separate weekdays, the first occasion was early evening. We were charged £2 to park in the closest car park which had a toilet block. It’s easy access to get to view them from here. There’s a small cafe and gift shop which unfortunately were closed when we got there. The Kelpies are very impressive, the nearer you get the better they are. Picture’s don’t do them justice. Apparently they don’t light up until it’s getting dark. There’s plenty of seating to enjoy an ice cream close by or you can spend anything up to an hour just ambling around the area taking in the views and chilling. On the second visit we decided to call in for coffee and cake but this time we found out that the car park charge was £4. ??? Don’t know why there was a sudden increase but we didn’t stop to find out why. Sorry people, I’m not paying double. There is a free car park as you enter the area but it’s a distance away 10-20min walk/amble. There is a bit of a play area for kids over the road from this car park. (Helix Park, 10 min walk in the opposite direction). This attraction is well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

It was my dream to visit this place since watching Great Canal Journeys with Timothy West and Prunella Scales. Lovely place and no disappointing at all. A lot of area for walking, cycling and playing. I wish I could live nearby to admire the sculptures in all seasons and times of day.

Hi guys, I really loved the area and structured. Car park a decent size ,Payable on entry . Car park has toilet facilities including disabled and baby change. More toilet facilities in the main building which has a cafe and gift shop. Also outdoor vendors having a choice of food , coffee and ice cream. Next to a canal with no barriers so parents be aware of little ones!. Pictures attached. Regards to you all.

Simply put a absolute marvel and must do on you visit list around Falkirk. Great visitor centre and lovely staff. Loads of spaces picnic tables. Plenty of photo opportunities. What a wonderful story of vision to reality. Parking practical and costs 2 pounds with only cashless payment option. Toilets available at parking and reduced mobility parking for free, but go past the red barrier and you can park next to the visitors centre. Dog friendly also and the attraction lights up a Sunset.

Wow! These sculptures are truly amazing, the size of them cannot be appreciated until you are actually stood near them. We stayed until dark so we could see them lit up, just so beautiful. Parking is free in one carparks if you are prepared to walk about a quarter of a mile. Well worth a visit.

Really cool! Food trucks are a nice addition, got a hot chocolate from one with enough cream on it to feed a giant metal horse. Amenities were very well staffed and the surrounding area catered really well to families. No issues parking, entry of spaces and the parking attendants were very helpful.

Great place to visit for both old and young. Car park available but you have to pay. Toilets in car park, nice walk to see the kelpies. Gift shop and cafe on site with outdoor vendors as well. Nice walk along the canal to the lake, which has a kids playground and cafe serving sandwiches and drinks.

The family at AtlasAdventured highly recommends visiting here! Stunning works of art! We saw them from the freeway and decided to get closer. As you get close you lose sight of them and we were like “how?! They’re so big!” We turned into Helix Park, which has plenty of walking and biking trails, playgrounds, and cool sculptures throughout. The grounds are very well kept. There are two different parking lots, one closer to the park, and one close to the statues. Once you park, it is a little bit of a walk (an easy walk) to the statues, maybe 5 minutes. How awesome that you can walk right up to them! Plenty of photo opportunities from every angle. There is also a visitor center which includes a cute gift shop, restrooms, and cafe. They do offer tours of the statues, which allows you to see the inside of them! Our daughter loved being able to run all around and couldn’t get over the size of the Kelpies. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend planning a visit here. It's a whole day of fun, for free! And it’s beautiful.

Finally! We were able to see the famous "The Kelpies" 🥰 it wasn't a good weather but neither bad as well. Still, we had fun and enjoyed the rest of the day. We went here on purpose, no tours whatsoever. Google is the key! Must visit! Too bad we couldn't stay overnight to see it's beauty in the dark. Great place!

An amazing sculpture to go and see. It’s just off of the motorway (M9) so is easy to access. There is a small car park for the Helix which is free to park in so I recommend parking there and walking up if you are able to. If not there is a car park located just a 5 minute walk away from the sculptures but it does cost. You can also walk it along the canal to the Falkirk Wheel which is about a 2hr walk. There is a shop to buy souvenirs, a cafe and toilets available at the horses.

These are awesome DUKE (facing down) and Baron (looking away) are HUGE to see up close wish I had seen them on a better day or all lit up at night but was nice to stop and see them. There's a wee visitor centre with cafe and toilets on site.

Enjoyed our day out here. Nice walk around the grounds. Activities for all the family. Little museum inside, which was interesting. Cafe was good, welcoming staff and good coffee and food.

Lovely big mansion and expansive grounds with lots of trails and wildlife. There is a loch with ducks and swans, a play area for kids and a Tearoom and a hot food van. Entry is free, recommended. Lots of parking areas around the park.

We visited today expecting to just see the outside of the house and have a walk round the woods. We were pleasantly surprised to find that you could go inside, free of charge. There's loads of history, loads for kids to interact with and a tearoom which looked great. The woodland walk was lovely, even in February. The only downfalls are the amount of rubbish laying around the woodland and water. The tower buildings you pass and the breeze blocked up buildings are a real eyesore

So love this place. Perfect for walking and safe for dogs. House is beautiful and the tea room is first class. Most delicious freshly baked scones 😋. Estate is really well maintained and toilets clean. Also option to have a coffee or snack outside beside play area. Best place.

It's a home of one of 'four Marys', lady, who went with Mary Queen of Scots to France, to keep her Lady a company. Closed on Tuesdays. I was expecting more of an old, antique mansion interiors to sightsee. Instead there is a rather museum, different topics in each floor or wing. However kitchen is perfectly preserved and just for it worth to go. Entrance is free.

Lovely place to visit and read about the historic and industrial past of the surrounding areas. Lovely little tea room and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Amazingly it was also free entry and parking.

We've visited here a few times over the years, the grounds are quite nice, there are lots of paths to walk and a lovely big playpark for the kids. One of the walks along the outskirts of the woodland has lots of wooden obstacles to overcome, which we all found quite good fun. The paths can be wet and muddy so sensible footwear is recommended. The parking is free, although, the main car park at the house gets busy. There are public toilets next to the playpark as well as inside the house too. When we visited, during the Easter week, the toilets were locked and remained locked. There is a snack van next to the playpark and a cafe inside the house. The house has exhibitions and various historicial displays, we found them to be really well put together and the information was great. My boys especially loved the Roman section and playing the Roman boardgames too. It was a good day out, had the toilets been open and had we been able to see more of the inside, it would have scored better but we did fell there is a lot of the house you don't get into. If you do visit, there is the old mausoleum in the woods, about a 1/2 a mile from the house, behind the boating pond.

Really enjoyed our visit. Stopped at the Tea Room for lemon scones and bacon rolls (both were excellent). The house had nice exhibits and we really liked seeing where they filmed Outlander. The grounds and lake nearby were beautiful.

It’s a bit daunting when you pass the high-rise buildings but it’s the right way, keep going until you reach the last car park at the end of the road. We spotted three car parks, so there’s plenty of room, and it’s free. As you walk towards the house there is an information board telling you where everything is. Not all the activities seemed to be in use and we didn’t get to see all of them anyway. There was a toilet block near what looked like a play centre in the grounds, we didn’t visit these. The house is free to enter, you pass through a gift shop to get in. Inside there is a walk through history of the house, the Outlander kitchen, Roman room, Gallery and a children’s activity room. Toilets are available and there is also a small lift. The tea room was excellent and very busy, and the pricing was reasonable. The visit was very interesting and educational, the grounds look perfect for a family picnic when it’s a nice day. We look forward to a return visit for a full day. It’s well worth a trip, loads to see and do.

Somewhat average coffee shop in an absolutely stunning venue. The house and museum itself were brilliant, very interesting to read about the history and see the architecture. It was a bit cold and rainy so we didn't go for a walk, but from the view in the house it looked lovely, so we'll probably make another visit in the summer. The coffee shop, however, was a little disappointing. My coffee was weak and flavourless, probably instant granules. Wife wasn't too impressed with her tea either. The scone came warm and was actually quite nice though. We didn't order any of the sandwiches, as they were prepackaged factory made things that didn't look too appetising. Staff, however, were friendly and helpful though No complaints there. The cafe is split into two sections, the regular cafe and the 'fancy' bit where they serve high tea at £17.95 a head. It also requires booking ahead. Might try that next time to see if it 's worth it.

Beautiful place. The grounds are also really lovely, and includes part of the old Roman Antonine wall. Lots of interesting historical information displays and pleasant, helpful staff. Worth a visit.

Excellent park for a good walk. Also the dogs love it. The house is beautiful and the museum is so interesting. Had a lovely light lunch in the tea room, also very good.

Mesmerised to be honest. Loved the fact it was so near high rise flats …. The park has wheel chair access, kids were playing families were walking kids learning to ride their bike … swans ducks and great coffee shop in the house itself what’s not to love .

Good karts and track and really great staff. My 9 year old daughter attended the Kart School and has loved coming back since. Only reason for 4 stars is the cost, which is quite expensive for 2 X 7 minute sessions. It would be great if sessions were extended to 10 mins, or a membership scheme started, offering discount for frequent visitors.

Great experience but poor administration. I took my two teenage grandchildren here last week and they thoroughly enjoyed it. However, it wasn't until i got home and received the email with their results that I realised they should have had two sessions, not just one. When i sent an email to head office they said we should have known to wait for a second session, but a member of staff told the kids where to put their suits and helmets instead of telling us to wait for a second session. They refused to give a refund for the session not used. in my opinion they need to tell visitors clearly at the start that they will have a gap between the first and second session. They say the children were told during the briefing, but when they were told they had two sessions, they thought it meant one each. I am sure we are not the only people to have made this mistake, and some clear signage or clear instruction needs to be added to their protocol. Otherwise, the karting experience itself was amazing.

Booked for my sons birthday.... they had a great day and were very well looked after. Limited to 8 participants, we had more that would have liked to race. However I understand the need to limit the number of racers. Liked that the spectators had screens with lap times etc ..

This was my first time go-carting with my husband and kids I only had one go as I wasn't confident but my kids and husband loved it. The staff are great checking I was OK and gave me a lovely cup of tea. You are all a credit to Xtreme Karting will defo be back just for the tea though. Would throughly recommend great day.

As a group of 3 we did the escape room, I have done two before in different places and this was by far the best and most immersive escape room I've done so far! The zombie theme is very fun, they do warn you about the jump scares but that doesn't stop them from getting you! Thanks to the game master we had, she was excellent.

Great day out, kids loved it and wished I could have a go. The place was very clean and run very efficiently. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will join in next time myself. They have various times, sessions just for kids, mixed family and more experienced.

Really welcoming atmosphere the staff were amazing and so nice and kind. The owner Barry is a lovely guy as well making sure everything was ok and how I was enjoying my sessions couldn’t fault anything at all! Finlay, Rose and Michell were so funny and treated me with open arms and made my day a lot better.

Really helpful staff, everything was clean and obviously safety was a top priority. Our grandson had a brilliant time (tho he asks if it could be less noisy.....! 🙉🤣) Thank you so much 😊

Had a fab day for my sons 16th only down side was some of the karts need upgraded on last round my kart kept cutting out after 3rd time they were giving me a new kart but with only about 4 mins to go I didn't bother but all in had a good day

Well-run karting track. Not easy to find! Allow extra time to find the place - we arrived a few minutes late. Booking was easy and our four-part session was well-managed with time for a breather between each 10 minute stint.

Great fun for adults or kids ( if age limit permitted). Great track with steep tricky hill at center point of circuit. 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience, took my wife and kids at the weekend, their first time they’re and I’m already getting the “can we go back” .. great service from the Daytona crew and reception workers. We’ll definitely be back!

Came here for an 11 year old's birthday treat. All equipment provided and plenty of staff on hand for any running-into-the-wall instances! Kids had a lot of fun, and there was a lot of patience for a more anxious participant. If you or your children have sensitive ears, then you might want to wear in ear earplugs; it was quite loud on track. Quality metal medals at the end, not plastic. Many thanks for an awesome time.

Been coming here for 3 years now and not only for the karting but also the staff. They go out of there may to make you feel warm and welcome, especially the big tall guy called Finley. Makes me and the lads feel welcome. We love this place and will always come back

The girls had a great time yesterday! The guys made us feel welcome, and spoke to us every step of the way! Been to the Newbridge one too which we loved so will get the girls to drive there too. This one isn't quite as big but what it didn't have in space it made up for in experience and fun! Cheers to all and the guy with the baseball cap.

We come back here ever year. Its an amazing building. The kids love exploring the area around it and its a good starting point to explore the wider dunmore estate.

We had to visit a building that is shaped like a pineapple! The turn off A905 is easy to miss and the road in is narrow and rough. There is parking for half a dozen cars in the carpark outside the garden walls. Short walk from there to the building which is built into a wall of the garden. Walking paths from there go out into the surrounding forests and farming areas. When we visited a couple were picnicking in the walled garden which seemed a fine thing to do on a sunny day.

It's definitely a unique building in a nice forest. The paths around it are quite muddy but otherwise well kept. There is ample parking at the end of the road but the road is very country so drive carefully.

Finally managed to visit as there was a space in the very smal car park (free but only about 5-7 cars maximum and then you park where you can!) It is only a small walk to the building, and not much to see as you can't enter, however it's amazingly built and there are information boards. A walk around the building and walled garden would only take 15-20 mins depending on speed of walking, however we ended up following the paths around the Dunmore Estate which ended up a 2 1/2 hour walk including the old stables and house.

Good for a short visit and adventure with the kids. Large grounds to explore. Only downside is there are no onsite facilities and a small parking area

We loved this place - did find it challenging to find due to poor council signage and Tom-Tom unable to figure out what road to drive in meaning we had a big walk in on a rather wet afternoon. The place would have been amazing in its prime - the walled Gardens are extensive and the quality of the Pineapple build is outstanding! My wifey was impressed, the reason the structure was built originally was to impress his wifey. Well done! 100% worth the effort trying to find and get to - one of our highlights of our trip.

Pleasant place to walk around, great architecture . Caution google map sends you to a farm road that’s private, the turn off is sign posted about a mile from where google says it is.

Lovely walled orchard garden with pineapple topped building at the head. A real issue with signage to find it. The final sign at the point the road splits doesn't really indicate one way or the other.. I bet it all looks lovely in the summer

The Pineapple 🍍 Out in the country, peaceful, quiet and worth seeing. Was made in 1700’s carved from 1 stone! Impressive.

Only the frontage of this lovely building basically still stands. There is a small carpark and no entry fee for either the grounds or the carpark. But there is a donation box. The garden is set out with rows of trees down to the pond, overlooked by the pineapple atop the hill. There is an abundance of plants all around, with many more on the woodland path behind the pineapple. The woodland walk towards the right of the pineapple takes you through a fruit orchard, and onto the remains of Elphinstone tower.

Dunmore House is a phenomenal old abandoned building. The pineapple is a weird and wonderful architectural structure to the greenhouse. There is green open spaces and benches in front of the building. There is gravel paths. Surrounding Woodlands and forests have easy terrain just muddy haha. Wonderful walks. Scenery is beautiful. Can spend 30min to 2 hours walking it all. The buildings are unstable structures and should not be entered. Great to view from the outside. Great for walking the dogs. Car park at pineapple entrance. No public toilets.

A very interesting building, well worth a visit. Small car park and the road to enter is a single track and a little bumpy. Good woodland walk, ideal choice for a dog walk. It’s a National Trust for Scotland property however there is no entry fee, although there is no where to explore inside, just the grounds and building.

We parked at a small industrial complex in Twechar and followed the sign from the road. It’s a good uphill ascent on a farm track that gets quite steep, go through the gate and keep going uphill. You may get a visit from the cows going home as you go through the field. At the top of the field turn left off the track, through the gate and up to the wood. Enter the fort through another gate and you can see an info board. It can be hard work to get there but it’s worth it. It would be a great place to take a picnic. Explore the area and enjoy the peace and quiet. There are info boards to read and some small sections of architecture to look at. The best by far, are the views, stunning.

Surprised at how beautiful the whole place was. Easy to get to and well worth the journey. Parking was a bit tricky as I had to park in an industrial estate but it was early so no businesses were open yet.

Very nice place and free! About .50 miles/800 meters walk up a decent path, some loose gravel but not much. The ascent takes about 25 minutes of casual walking. Very beautiful scenery and you may even get right up next to some cows. Old bunkers, maybe, near the path as well. The site itself you have to use your imagination on, they have outline and signposts telling you what was supposed to be. Antonio wall is maybe still there, not sure...there is a ravine and some rocks that look old...but 1800 years old I cannot say. You should come here though to experience a piece of history. There are no staff members or building here, no toilets or cafes here as well. Great place for a picnic!

Best walking rout start at Twechar. From the not so hidden passage leading to Bar Hill Roman Fort. Walk up hill following the sight and direction of John Muir Way. This will lead you to B802 finally, cross the road turn left you will be soon arrived Auchinstarry. Follow the canal your on the way to Croy. Cross the Forth & Clyde canal, turn left again. Follow the canal at about 40 minutes time you will arrive Twechar again.

Nice easy walk, took my 3 year old he was fine. There is 2 ways (maybe 3) to the top of Bar Hill, one is a gentle incline with the other, which we came down, very steep. Lovely walk taking you through the farmers fields then the woods and then onto Barr Hill itself, some great well signed points of interest on the walk, which could be done quickly if no breaks. View from the top was exceptional, I was lucky it was a nice clear day, had a picnic then ascended the steep slope, the views are absolutely unreal: You can see all Campsie Glens and facing Croy Hill and Roman Fort.

Good place for a walk, with family, dog or by self for peace and quiet Not much left from the fort itself but few boards with information around. Part of Antonine's wall trail. Views are amazing

Just like it says, it's a Roman fort. Be prepared for a bit of a hike as Google maps says you can drive right up near the fort. But no, there is a sign at the bottom saying pedestrians only and there is no real parking set aside for visitors. Once there, you might be slightly underwhelmed at what is left of the fort but the view is amazing and worth the climb up the hill. It's not very busy, but there is no rubbish facilities so be prepared to take out what you bring in. Dogs welcome but there is a sign telling you to clean up after them.

Great walk. Simple to start up the road and through a few walking gates. In the actual monument area you have two choices at the sign for Bar Hill by the ruined, overgrown cottage. Right up the hill past the sign is John Muir way which takes you down then up the hill. It's quite steep with a v shaped ditch on the right. Boggy at bits in the middle but good fun if steep. Did I mention steep? Very steep and I'd advise uphill if it's snowing unless you like butt-sledging. Leads all the way up to the iron age hill fort. Then to the Roman fort. Left at the sign takes you up the straight military road with a smaller fort part way up. Easy to walk with lateral bumps to make it easy to walk up or down. Leads up to the Roman fort straight ahead or to the iron age fort to the right. Lots to see in the Roman fort area but didn't get yo see it all due to the Snow. If you're with wee ones, give yourself 3 hours for the walk and explore.

Lovely day out for families. It’s also free! Although there is a £1 parking charge. Plenty of animals to see and nice woodland walks around it. Love that you can also bring your dog (on a lead) to go round the farm.

Lovely country park with a nice animal attraction that has improved a lot in the last few years. Nice little cafe and play park with a good play trail and cute pond with various wildlife.

Partipating in forest activities with #underTheTrees was fun, enjoyed the sculptures on walk, magnificent views, and great coffee in the courtyard cafe

Muiravonside has always been a great country park but recent improvements have made it even better: There are now tarmac paths from the woodland car park to the farm so that is much easier and cleaner access for all, particularly for prams, buggies and wheelchairs. The main carpark is currently being resurfaced. There are now many more animals at the farm and the Coffee Cabin at the old stables is an extremely friendly and relaxing place that serves wonderful food and drinks.

Lovely car park, pity the roads, not in very good condition. £1.00 charge which can be by card/coin. Here I accessed the Avon Aqueduct, by foot - too many stairs to carry a bike unless its very lightweight. Think there are other walks to access. Smooth exit, barrier lifts on exit. Shame 5pm appears to be the time of closure.

This is the perfect place. Its phenomenal. Free to visit. Car park is £1. Small farm. Public toilets and information centre. Allotments. Children's play area. Picnic area. Open fields. History building ruins. River Avon. Forest walks. There is the Lin's Mill Aqueducts which is mind blowing to spectate. Apple orchards. Bee hives (not assecable by public). Wonderful places for families. Dogs are welcome and there is many bins. Only down side is the cafe shut due to Covid however there is an ice cream van at different times. Absolutely love this place.

My 2 year old grandson had a great time looking at the farm animals and loved the playground. Didn't do any of the walks on this visit, but definitely worth coming back for. There is a picnic area and a café, but we didn't try these. Main car park near farm cost £1.

I go up here with the MTB always like it as it is mostly quite at times. There is a new Caffè as well that dose snacks etc

A great place to visit. The farm is brilliantly kid friendly and very informative. The walks are well designed and the small cafe is perfect. A great job done by all the staff and volunteers in keeping it fresh.

Great park it has been a long standing favourite of mine for the last 20 odd years. We explored the lime kilns, embalming room perched on the gorge face and took a wee wander through the old Stirling cemetery. Blue bells were in bloom and the woodland areas were looking lovely

This is a great wee park, farm, woodland walk with the added advantage of the trail running along side the river, all of which is free. At the farm area there is a donation box situated in front of one of the animals outbuildings. I would encourage to danote a small donation as it can't be cheap to upkeep the many animals on the site. I was a little disappointed that the cafe was closed due to funding as this could have been run by volunteers too and been a good way to provide revenue for the farm. On the whole though great place for free to keep the kids amused and if the weather is nice enough there are picnic benches around to enjoy a picnic too.

The park offers different trails to explore, through the woods along the river and the open countryside. A wooden staircase leads you to the top of the Avon Aqueduct where you can gain beautiful views over the surrounding landscape. It is only a pity that the Steading Cafe and the toilets are currently close. A very nice walk nevertheless.

Was here to see Jason Manford, was intimate but also big enough it did not feel crowded. There was plenty of leg room and you got a decent view of the stage from lost locations in the theatre. Toilets were busy at break as expected and if you want a drink at the interval preorder but overall a great experience.

We had a great time seeing Sleeping Beauty here yesterday. It felt intimate and the show presented beautifully, with great performances by the cast. The music really shone, with the cast and singers/dancers pulling off a genuinely fantastic show. Such a shame this will be the last there, but they did themselves and the theatre proud with what is their swansong.

Pretty basic facility but staff we encountered were friendly. Place was clean and prices reasonable. Would recommend as a venue.

Been to the panto two years in a row and I plan to book for the next one. Such good family fun and comedy that knows the right amount of boundary pushing 😉

Saw a great show (Cinderella) here. Will be back for other pantos. Theatre is a nice size not too big and not too small

Not the most glamorous looking location but the facilities are great and the shows varied for all ages and tastes.

Fabulous afternoon watching an amateur production of "Sunshine on Leith" with an immensely talented local cast who performed exceedingly well in this great venu. FTH theatre not only provides a venue for local drama groups but also hosts comedians, ballet panto and numerous other cultural experiences for not only the local community but also brings in people who then boost our local economy. Unfortunately it is being knocked down and in the current economic climate will not be replaced for some time so who knows what will happen to all these local groups and touring shows whom locals etc will no longer have access to . Hope they can come up with something soon 😥🙏

Great afternoon watching the Sleeping Beauty Pantomime. Lots of fun and participation with the audience. Such friendly helpful staff. We will really miss coming to the FTH.

Beautiful walk through the Forrest to Tappoch Broch

Amazing piece of history hidden away in Tor Wood. Well worth a visit. Kids loved the adventure of the woods and finding the broch.

Previously known as the Tappoch Broch or Torwood Broch, it is an Iron aged broch and one of the best preserved of the Lowland brochs.

Pool is 4 stars. Not many things for kids to do. Super pricey for the relation fun/what you get. Building has sold play inside too, which is 5 stars quite cool, but a bit pricey. Poor car park, 50spaces only.

Came here for swimming and soft play Swimming facilities are good 1 star for soft play and cafe, main cafe side closed for no apparent reason other than soft play was busy. 4 members of staff working and they can’t cope opening both sides of the cafe very bad rota management. Majority of the time cafe staff are standing around with nothing to do. I went to order and got told it was table service. I was then waiting another 15 minutes before someone came to serve me. The cafe must be running at a loss.

Great pool and softplay! My son loved the pool with small slides he could go on and activities around the pool to fiddle about with! Plenty of staff around who are friendly and helpful and doing a great job! Reception staff were friendly and welcoming too and the frames in softplay area seemed really clean. Only negative about the whole experience was the family changing facilities or lack of! There were a lot of families there with small children and not enough room to accommodate, apart from that we had a fab time and will defo be back in the future!

Went here with my daughter and grandkids to swim. Staff were so lovely. Much better priced too. Had a snack after in the cafe and again staff were so nice and food was lovely .

Brilliant for the family. Not a place for a solo swim this is more of an entertainment swim for families and kids. Wave machine is decent and the toddler pool is nice and safe for the littleones.

Not good all was in their 10 minutes and could not use the pool properly because they were doing life guard training and had used up half of the pool for this. After speaking to one of the receptionist she stated that none of the other customers had complained about this and I stated that this was because they were not using that part of the pool but the shallow baby part instead. After asking for refund of my money I was then told that she would speak to the manager and was then told they would not refund my money at all. I then asked to speak to the manager myself and she pretty much refused to get the manager for me to speak to them. I was then told quite cheekily that if a Thursday is inconvenient then don't come. Staff were quite rude and I will not be returning.

Not bad swimming pool but really only suited to very young children. Needs to be either 'proper' swimming pool with lanes or enjoyable leisure pool with flumes and decent slides. This is an unsatisfactory hybrid and relatively expensive.

Dilapidated. Staff don't let the kids do anything fun, like sit on the big floats or jump in the deep end, and the wave machine is always out of action. Not enough showers and the shut earlier than they say. Staff can't be arsed and it really shows.. got Falkirk council written all over it. Also, it's a LEISURE CENTRE.. leisure time is the weekend. So why would they stop you going at 3pm on a Saturday.??? If you get there at 1 minute past they will refuse you entry even if it makes your kid cry... its like they hate customers..... disgusted really...

We come here often for swimming with the kids (age 1 and 4). Fantastic pool for them, the slides are especially good for younger children. They're are 4 slides in total, reach building up from the last. The wave machine goes off every 30 min. Floats are provided. Warm water showers, and great family changing area. It loses a star because it is getting tired in places, but make no mistake, excellent value for money. Go at none peak times and your time isn't limited, good at the weekend and you'll get a coloured band to wear, you get 1.5-2 hours I think depending on what time you arrive.

My little boy loves this pool. We travel 30 mins to get there because he doesn't want to go anywhere else. He always asks if we can go to "the fun pool"

Decent swimming, nice wave machine. Decor looks a tad dated, but that doesn't affect the swimming experience. Lifeguards very vigilant and stop any horseplay, from over exuberant teens.

Very good swimming pool the staff really make this place great today jason gave some great ideas on the best way to learn to swim and got away my fear of the water 5star highly recommend you try this place

Good facility, excellent gym and spin studio with Les Mills - The Trip classes. Haven't used the swimming pool so can't comment on that.

Took my 6 month old for a swim this morning, only for rotten old plasters, a twig, a glob of dust/hair, and who knows what else, to greet us in the baby pool. I spent most of my time navigating my son around the absolute filth that was in the water. We ended up leaving after ten minutes because it was just disgusting. Clean the pool, especially the baby pool. Vile!

Nice place, tables area is small but the play zone is a good size, well worth a £5. Has a nice coffee bar

Fantastic, tranquil park not far from Falkirk Town Centre. The walled garden maintained by The Cyrenians is beautiful. There is also an excellent cafe, restored dovecot, war memorial, child's play area and tennis courts.

Nice local park. Large open space for dogs. Play area for kids. Tennis courts. Flower Garden.

You enter and leave through a small space in the wall and it can cause some congestion as there is only space for 1 vehicle. The car park is small. There is a play park but it's not the biggest. It has swings,climbing frame some adventure equipment not much else. There is big grass area where you can play football/badminton or if you have a dog let it run about.There is a small walk round the park and the path is in very good condition. The toilets are in the main building and the cafe is located here as well. The walled garden is quite nice and has a lovely water feature. There is lots of seating about the park but not many picnic benches.

Was at Dollar Park today. Beautiful place, I gave it 4 stars as there was 2 dogs fouling the on the grass adjacent to the play park and owners never picked it up. Disgusting. The park is amazing, those people are just ignorant.

Great little park complete with decorative walled garden open to public 10am til 3pm. Lots of little interesting aspect to garden for kids to enjoy, fairy doors, statues, and a play park with a sunken pirate ship and climbing frame, swings etc.

Great wee park which is often quieter than the other, bigger ones making it an ideal place to take our young grandsons. There is lots of open space, a small enclosed play park and a beautifully kept walled garden. There are also tennis courts. Lovely small park to stroll around.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff who will go out of their way to help. A lovely oasis of calm and peace in our busy, noisy little world. A good selection of books and easy access to the digital world via clean and well-cared-for PCs.

The Library in Falkirk is great the staff are so friendly and really helpful too,plus it gets you out of the cold for a bit and learn something in the meantime folks,would highly recommend it to everyone.

I attended a hafla an Arabian dance party in the hall. I enjoyed it very much. The hall is lovely very good for such events. The church is fairly close to the railway station so easy to get to.

What a fantastic place steeped in history had to look up the persons interred their. Life is better than fiction.

Very nicely situated church with plenty of history, lots of events held here and is lovely inside. Parking a bit more if an issue as town centre so walk may be required. 1 side to area does have wheelchair access other two entrances is via steps which can be a bit steep

My church family meet, worship and and praise here. The building is many 100s of years old but recently renovated inside in a sympathetic contemporary way it's at the the hub of Falkirk and generally busier and more vibrant than the High Street ( which is not a happy reflection )

I have lived in West Sussex for 30yrs, but I am a Falkirk Bairn, born & bred. I love this old church. It also has, or had, a Crusaders grave beside the original pathway. Hoping to be able to see it again as planning to retire back home soon. Mx

Dirty club, needs facelift, interval 45minutes long, overpriced, prize money is pathetic. To much talking with staff when bingo is being called. They are better clubs around area.

Good for a cheap couple of hrs out with a chance of winning bingo and games machines to play with a bar and food place prices were very reasonable for food and drink will go back again if in area to while away a few hrs lol

Went on Sunday night wasnt busy. Staff where really helpful and attentive. Got screens between the bandits to separate u from each other. Ordered food which was macaroni but to be honest wouldn't say it was the best.

The staff serving food and drink are quite rude. Everything else is fine.

Amazing staff and an amazing atmosphere here friendly from staff to 90% of customers. The staff are fantastic with me hubby and my service dog. (Don't ever just turn up with Ur dogs please please please contact head office with details of your club membership number and what kind of service dog you have and the role of your service dog, once you get the all clear via email from head office then phone your club and ask them if they would be ok with your service dog to be in Thier club only then bring them up) PLEASE make sure Ur service dog is toilet trained and ok with people suddenly shouting and lots of people walking around them. By doing these simple steps it means you don't get turned away or make anyone uncomfortable, plus these steps covers you and Ur club should anything happen, it also makes your time at the club more pleasurable.

Had food and bingo , tikka masala was really tasty

Used to love going to bingo but the last few times we went it's all about the little cash games they speed you through the main games you do not even get time to have a word or take a drink just to get another few games off cash bingo last night I was so switched off I nearly missed a game but the wee lassie saw us and asked if we weren't playing so thank you for that not a great time so fast

This place needs deep clean, food overpriced, to many cash bingo games. I Will step inside this dump again.

I enjoyed my bingo but not the selection of food. Food expensive for what it was. Staff very friendly and helpful. Just need to improve on the menu.
