La forma attuale si deve ad un intervento di restauro del Seicento, ma la facciata, danneggiata dal terremoto del 1741, fu rifatta in cotto e con colonne a spirale su progetto di Luigi Vanitelli, il grande artista cui si deve la stupenda Reghia di Caserta. L'interno conserva opere pregevoli, tra cui dipinti di pittori famosi come il Pomarancio. Spero che i lavori non si prolunghino ancora per molto tempo: su un cartello ho letto che essi sono iniziati nel settembre del 2020 e si sarebbero dovuti concludere nel dicembre del 2021.
