Although the library itself is just a one hall portrayed everywhere, I would rate it 5 stars. The library was a bit disappointing as I was expecting to walk through more rooms/ stairs and corridors like that, to be charmed by the world of books and rare volumes. There is just what you saw on flyers, nothing more. BUT 🪄 The library has two more breathtaking exhibitions, and we were impressed by the effort of those people working to save and protect the rare documents and historical monuments for future generations. It is definitely worth a visit and people of different ages will enjoy the place.

It's a must to visit this place. The books are well kept and the ambience is serene. Beautiful place with great artistic artwork. You will be brought back to olden times. Must wear slipper on top of your shoes so that you will protect the floors since its old and creaking everytime someone walk. There's a mummy placed in the library. Swiss Travel Pass is free when you enter the museum but you must get ticket at the counter 1st. There's also museum of books and many more in the cellar. It's a shame we cannot take photograph in there.

What a beautiful historical place. You can not rent the books here, they are for show. Everything is old and handcrafted. You have to wear houseshoes over your shoes to safe the old wooden floor. There also is a mummy here, but that is the only item you are not allowed to photograph. Otherwise you can take pictures without flash.

What an experience!!! I got goosebumps perusing the ancient written works in here. One of the staff members, Remo V, truly made my experience there a delight! So full of charm and information - I learned a lot thanks to his stories and knowledge. Definitely a must-visit.

Definitely check this out, if you ever find yourself in St. Gallen! Tickets appear expensive at first at 18 CHF (free if you’re a Raiffeisen member), however they grant you entry to 3 different exhibits, so I personally think that’s not too bad. The library is just one large room, but it is so beautiful and well-kept, so I was not disappointed. There is lots to see and learn here, so I would plan at least 2 hours -If you plan to take a break at the cute café too, plan at least 3 hours :)) Finally, while I didn’t take any pictures there, I highly recommend you also visit the church (no ticket needed). Got the audio guide as an afterthought and it turned out to be the best 5 francs I've spent since arriving in Switzerland. I used to live in this building. My window was facing towards the Red Place. The red plastic used stinks, when heated up by the sun. I don't see too many people sitting there. Maybe that is what they wanted. The place looks soulless and to get to places I don't even pass by there to avoid the toxins from the red plastic.

What I did not like: There was not a single garment on display. There were only 3 exhibition halls and on top of that the same types of textiles were shown in each hall (only 5). I was hoping to see part of one of the largest textile collections in Switzerland and was more interested in history. So I hope I will find the permanent exhibition worth it, once it's available.

What an incredible and beautiful place! We had so much fun watching the animals. You won't find them this playful and active at a normal zoo, nor does a normal zoo have such spectacular scenery as a backdrop.

It's a nice and peaceful place on the top of the hill,where you can walk or even cycle around. It's free entry and alot of parking space too. There is a nice small restaurant where you can grab a quick bite or snacks too. Kids really enjoyed seeing the animals. There are deer, wild boar, wild goats, and lynx. It's a nice gateway for a day, so I will definitely go there again.
