It was interesting to see the various levels built on one another in the basilica. I was impressed with the different mosaics and the different eras of architecture as the buildings grew and developed. A couple problems were that the glass floors fogged up in places making it difficult to see certain parts of the mosaics, and that there were some areas not quite finished - but it is a beautiful building and worth visiting.

This is a nice and well preserved basilica that you should see if you are somewhere near. The entrance fee is 5 € for adults and in my opinion it is worth the money. Toilettes are available on site and there is a little gift shop where you buy the tickets. The glorious exterior does put a nice vibe to think what is hiding on the inside. There are parking spots near by (2.5€ /h).

Stopped for "just a few moments" on the way to Austria and stayed for 2,5 hours. The museum has had a makeover recently and the set-up is neat, take it from an archi student. Great museum that was open later than we expected (7pm). We visited on a Saturday (25 March 2023) around 430pm. We spent about 1.5 hrs but could have spent 2-3h reading more signs. 3 floors inside + outdoor area -- unfortunately the outdoor area is under renovation so you can't tour the whole thing but you can still enjoy some of it. Signs in Italian and English that gave great insight. A small gift shop of mostly books but a few other treasures. Loved learning about the city and seeing so many Roman artifacts. It'll never get old seeing back into history & daily lives like this!

Unfriendly and unreasonable staff. We wanted to lean our bicycles on the tree next to the bicycle stand, when an older lady from the museum staff came and ran us away. We tried to explain her that it is impossible to park the way she wants, since our bicycles are packed with rear bags (this is the Alpe-Adria trail nonetheless) and would thus fall, but to no avail.
