We were taken for a visit as we were visiting the country. A lovely walk around the large dam. Loads of ducks and geese - take bird seed food with you! - and a couple of swans on the dam. Other walk ways lead off as you walk around the dam. Has a small playground area for little ones. We stayed and had a small bite to eat - rolls and baguettes with fillings such as egg/sausage/bacon and a vegetarian one; a few cakes and ice cream for sale. Dogs allowed but must be on a lead upon exiting and entering the premises. A pleasant place

We went to this place a couple weeks ago. Was a nice place for a walk around although at thx Tim's it was quite muddy . One of the lakes was flooded so we couldn't walk around it. The other one was flooded in place. Have been before in this summed and it was lovely. We stopped off for a cuppa at the cafe before heading home

It’s so lovely to walk around the lake here. Recommend bringing bird food as you can feed the ducks and geese. They do also sell bird food at the café. Good coffee and tasty food and cakes at the café. Toilets there too. Lovely playground. Pay and display parking.

Low cost parking, £1.50 for 4hrs, dog off lead walk around lake, maybe 1.5 miles. Cafe and enclosed dog play area with stick library. Paths flat and easy to walk on. Just watch for ducks or fishermen?

Really nice park to spend time at, there’s a lot of paths and trails to follow and you can easily spend hours here, there’s a river and a couple of lakes too. It’s very peaceful although one set of paths takes you by a busy road so is slightly less so. The cafe is great too, and parking is plentiful and cheap, highly recommended.

This is a magical place to visit, there is always something different to see. The cafe serves the most delicious food and drink. Lovely picnic areas in which to enjoy it.

A good Country Park which has ponds for wildfowl, and fishing on the outskirts of Tonbridge, next the Medway River. Has cycle tracks, and footpaths, plus a family run cafe.

Lovely park in Tonbridge and Malling Borouogh Council. £1.80 for the car park lasting 4 hours, more that enough time to walk around the whole park. It has a cafe and a not too clean toilet. It has a cycle route, and some lakes running through it. Lots of dog walker, children strollers and joggers. There is also a children's play area.

This is a great place for the whole family including dogs. There is a designated dog exercise area where our fluffy babies can play off leash, there is a kids playground and the cafe has amazing food and drinks. My favourite is the sausage and bacon roll 👌 delicious!

A lovely morning stroll, feeding geese and ducks on the large pond. Some pathways leading into other areas which we didn't explore due to time, but we stopped and had a bite to eat from the caravan and a quick drink before taking the young one to the play centre there. Lovely and peaceful for those who love the outdoors

Beautiful park to go on a relaxed stroll. Dogs are allowed so your pooch will be able to accompany you. There is also a really nice kids play park which is well maintained with really fun things for the kids.

Really great place for people of all ages. Great for dog walking as there is large areas of path, woodland, fields, and so on. Small playing area for children next to the car park, good amount of parking space, but just as accessible by foot. There is a lake in the centre of the park which is a pleasant walk around, the path around the lake is 0.98miles long so good for running or cycling. Lots of nature around the park, particularly around spring and summer. Best on a warm summers eve!

Visited the outside - going again and will enter the castle - wherever I go I try to visit all the places of interest - have read up about this 13th century castle. They have a park and an area where you can picnic. Really nice for children.

Stopped here just for a walk, parking was easy using the pay and display by the swimming pool, then a walk over the bridge following the river to the main road crossing the river again and then a walk around the castle, some not bad views, there is cafe and quite a few benches to sit and there is also a winding path up to one of the towers, not much at the top but a bit of grass and a well full of rubbish. Look

Very picturesque and fascinating little castle, you can ask for an audio tour which is included in the price, I feel that the audio equipment could do with updating and come with head phones but overall the tour was interesting to listen to. What's left of the castle inside has been well looked after by the people who run it, and are very helpful and friendly, the grounds offer a lovely walk about on a warm day. Overall a great place to visit!

This is the jewel of Tonbridge and a fantastic amenity...a thousand year old castle, with Motte and Bailey, acres of well kept grounds, lovely walks which can take you all the way out to Haysden Lakes, playing fields, childrens play area, swimming pool and a model railway line you can ride...make sure you visit. Its something for Tonbridge to be proud of and a great place for all the family to explore.

I love Castles - Tonbridge Castle is a 13th Century castle. I walked around the castle - didn't go in - that will be my next visit. Beautiful place, take your children there, they have beautiful gardens around there. Lots of squirrels and birds.

We brought tickets in advance, as wasn't sure if you could get them on the day, when we turned up it as pretty hot day , we went to resection and got are key throbs ( as need them get into the castle keep ) I take about a hour to go around the castle, nice little gem

Great piece of 900 years of history to learn. The castle located just off the high street with a handy car park near by. It took us just under an hour to go through all parts of the castle. We were given very easy to use the audio guide, which helped not only with lots of details about each part, but was guiding us all the way through. There is also a video presentation available for you to find out about the castle and its history. Lots of realistic figures inside of the castle. Be prepared to the very steep strairs if you would like to go to the top of the tower to see the panoramic view of the town. To enter the castle you will need the key fob, which you will be given at the shop. Definitely recommend it!

What can I say, this is one beefy castle. You get an amazing feel for how it would have been when it was built. The best part too is that you can not only walk around the outside but go inside too. The only paid for bit is if you want to go to the top of the gate house. I would definitely recommend a visit if you love old castles and all the history that comes with a place like this.

Free to visit the grounds of the castle which are located in the centre of Tonbridge, you can also walk through the middle of the castle. Whilst walking around the grounds there are good views of the castle from above. The grounds often host events such as food markets which do get very busy but there's plenty of space to find some peace and quiet. There is also a cafe and shop on site which are both free to access.

Visited around the castle for Tonbridge Castlemas. The castle itself was great, really lovely to walk around and through. Didn't go inside. Parking directly outside - pay and display. Can get really busy during events

Definitely had the wow factor . The arches as you walked through. Superb .The festival there had such a fantastic atmosphere and the band were top class. ABBA and Stevie Wonder tributes . Light and fireworks and food were fabulous and staff were great. 1st class.

Went for Illuminated Tonbridge. It was smaller than we expected but pretty. Parking was a bit busy so leave extra time if it's around school/rush hour. Staff all very friendly. Only lost a star as we've been to better illuminated places.

Absolutely delightful experience with Illuminate. We went during the night so the lights were blinding of course. But I think the castle itself wouldn't be much of a place to visit. It was a small castle and good for a pleasant walk. But absolutely loved the vibe. My 4 yr old kid had plenty of fun.

The castle grounds are free to enter and walk around. It’s a delightful place to visit in any season. There’s a cafe and a big grass area and lots of benches and info boards. The gatehouse is intact but the rest of the castle is mostly ruins with a moat. You have to pay to go into the gatehouse and it’s not cheap. £30 for a family ticket. It’s on 4 levels and there’s a good view from the roof. It’s a nice enough place to look around inside but minus 1 star for being overpriced.

Came Sunday evening for the Illuminations and definitely not disappointed. Castle has done an amazing job with the xmas lights this year. Great experience for all the family. Could not recommend more. Even the xmas market on site was fantastic with alot to offer .

The castle has been restored a lot since I moved from Tonbridge. At that time only a small part, the guardroom was accessible, there were no floors or roof in the other tower. Now the tour takes you into the other tower and into the great hall above the gateway, down to the lower level, along a tunnel and you pop up in the guardroom tower! The tableaux are excellent, figures very realistic and the audio guide very interesting. The stairs to the top of the tower are very steep but wider than expected so it wasn't difficult to get right out to enjoy a panoramic view of the town. I think it's well worth a visit and a reasonable entry fee.

A beautiful church, set in the countryside with large fields beside. Benches in the church grounds provide a place to eat a picnic, enjoy the view and ponder. Or have a nap. The stained glass windows are beautiful by Chagall and for those who may visit regularly, different times of day provide varying illumination both of the windows and the interior. A quiet space too, where we can sit and reflect and possibly pray for help or offer thanks.

A beautiful little church that is listed in the Domesday Book, and is definitely worth visiting. It is best to go on a sunny day to see the windows in all of their glory. It is the only church in the world that has all its windows in stained glass designed by the Russian-French artist Marc Chagall.

Tiny church nestling in the Kent countryside. Its most notable feature is a magnificent set of stained glass windows by Chagall - an extraordinary feature for such a tiny place. A knowledgable friend informs me: The church was rebuilt c.1780, with Victorian additions. It was restored and a new Norman arched east window added in 1967 by Robert Potter, which was to hold the stained glass window in memory of Sarah D'Avigdor Goldsmid, drowned with a companion in a sailing accident in the sea off Hastings, aged 21. Two years previously, she and her mother had visited an exhibition of Marc Chagall's stained glass in Paris, made for the Medical Centre at the Hadassah Hebrew University, Jerusalem. The family had been at the nearby Somerhill estate since 1849, and while her father was a professing Jew, Sarah had been brought up in her mother's Christian faith. It was not easy to get Chagall's agreement to the commission, which was brokered by a mutual friend, Gérard Bauer. The initial commission led on, at the artist's suggestion, to the eventual filling of all the 12 windows with Chagall glass ('C'est magnifique. Je ferai les tous!'), but not until controversy over the fate of existing Victorian windows had been resolved, in 1985, the year of Chagall's death at the age of 98.

Awe-inspiring and unique windows. I've never been in a church like it. The history makes it even more moving and the descriptions are informative.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful and atmospheric churches we've ever visited, and this is our second time here! Come on a sunny day when the Chagall stained glass windows catch the light at its best and you'll walk into a kaleidoscope of colours. This is definitely one of those places NOT to miss!

Absolutely Fantastic If you can't visit in person Google it and look at the Stained glass it's wonderful as is the story behind the windows To sit down and enjoy the peace and quiet while looking around and admiring the craftmanship is just a pleasure and gives sheer joy. Its difficult to write down the words to describe this little Church I don't think that I have ever been to visit any place of religion that has looked as beautiful as this place My all time favourite is the Sagrada Familia but without fear of contradiction this little church is every inch as beautiful. We look forward to a return visit.

the most special place i was so excited to come here for the organ recital they had on a sunday i wanted to visit to see the chagall windows anyway but it was such a delight to see on the website they were doing a georgian tea party organ recital ! we bought tickets and went from london it was really worth the journey. everyone was so sweet and kind and i really loved the deep bellowing sound of the organ. afterwards we had tea and cake… the best scones i have ever had ! don’t miss the next organ recital they do ! it’s such a sweet lovely beautiful place and the windows are treasures the main window made me cry with the beautiful figure of the girl peaceful sadly under the ocean, but what a way to show your love to make such a work of beauty

Great value and choice of plants, needs quicker rotation of dead plants but very happy with every purchase. The shop is confusing and bitty, selling what feels like end of stock only. Shame as a diamond in the rough.

The garden centre is closed, no notice up about why, devoid of plants and merchandise Therefore, there is no access to the toilets. Unfortunately, the college seems to be planning a mini golf course. Which will lower the tone of the area. Otherwise, we visited on a Friday lunchtime, no one around, peace and quiet.

The tearoom is amazing. Lovely staff and delicious fresh foods. The kentish rarebit is an absolute tastebud delight. My 8 year old boy was in love with the fresh tasting salad and slaw and the cokefloat was amazing. Their coffee is the best I've found so far. The gardens are so much bigger than I was expecting when we started our wander. It would have been a 5 if not for the man in the shop. He came over to offer wrapping our brakeables that we was purchasing but for some reason took one look at us and our small pile of goods and declared "maybe not".... Whatever that meant. We finished our purchase and immediately left. Found that to incredibly rude. Otherwise a lovely place and will be back...probably avoid the shop though. Shame as had made a wishlist.

Very pretty and beautiful gardens. Visited mid November and some gardens were closed for refurb. The little coffee shop place inside is really nice. Very good value for money food. All the food is fresh from local farms and cooked fresh. It has a lovely seating area outside when the weather is nice enough to sit outside

Tearooms are quite good albeit slightly on the pricey side. Garden centre on the small side as garden centres go. Gardens small and limited especially out of season; can get muddy. Worth going for the afternoon tea, not otherwise.

The most comfortable quality chairs we have ever seen in a cafè, the scones were absolutely lovely, the coffee good too, very comfortable and excellent surroundings to enjoy your afternoon cream tea. Very recommended.

Nice tower on private property. It is very difficult to get close for closeups. There's a lady who gives good directions to follow to have the best spots for photographs. Only 1 addition to her directions. The path to follow starts opposite nr 7. Lots of nettles. Wear long trousers or you'll regret it.

After reading nice reviews about this tower we have decided to see it with our own eyes and didn't regret our decision. The building is absolutely spectacular! It can be seen even from the distance because it is very high above the trees. Hadlow octagonal tower locally known as May's folly, is a Victorian tower, and apparently, one of the largest in Britain! It was built in 1838 by architect George Ledwell Taylor. We have parked our car just outside of the barber shop, which located on the left handside not far away from main entrance gates, and walked to the direction of the St Mary's Church. Just before entrance to the church yard, there is the path you can take on the left hand side, which if you follow around and through building up area you will come to the dead end, where you have to turn right and continue the alley way until you will see the gates on the right handside. If you go through the gates and follow the overgrown path, you can come closer to the tower and take nice shots. The best shots, in my opinion would be from the field or across the litter lake, which is not far from the tower. Definitely unforgettable experience and we are recommending it!

Stayed in the Tower for a night after winning a competition for the stay. Rooms were amazing and services such as TV and WiFi were provided. Views were stunning from the top and the gardens surrounding the tower were peaceful including a pond which was perfect in the sun.

We had a great time learning about and making our very own London Dry Gin at Greensand Ridge. Our host was Chris, and his knowledge and enthusiasm were really infectious. They have a conscience and have adopted some really sensible and ethical practises that are good for the environment and keep things local. The coach house and courtyard setting on the side of the Weald near Sevenoaks is also beautiful. Lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon. we went as a four, but it would have been fun on your own, as a couple or as a bigger group of friends. Thanks, and wishing you all the best Greensand Ridge

Friday evening gin experience. Excellent evening. Learnt lots about gin (& other alcohols) in general as well more their approach reusing as much as possible to be sustainable. Yet it wasn't in anyway a marketing pitch. Making own gin was great fun and good result. Time flew by. Would recommend and will certainly be buying more bottles in the future!

Excellent day here with my dad for a gin making experience. The owner (apologies I have forgotten your name) was very welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable about all things spirit. All of the spirits we tried were exquisite and the fact that almost everything from the process is re used and sustainable is great! Would certainly recommend the gin gin making experience and their spirits to all! Rye Cask gin was our favourite.

A great experience. The owner was very welcoming and had everything ready for the Gin making experience. Will "the owner" is an expert in his area but very good at explaining the fermentation process and when it comes making your own, great fun. A food platter was provided afterwards in the courtyard and Will joined us for a chat. All in all a great experience and I would recommend to anyone, and you get to come away with your own home made gin.

Wonderful afternoon at the Greensand Ridge Distilliery. It far exceeded my expectations, and we actually made our own unique bottles of gin by an authentic distillation of our own selection of botanicals, using individual alembic stills. The owner, Will, had the depth of knowledge and quiet, modest passion of a true master of his craft, as well as a real talent for communicating it effectively. Thank you for a fascinating, involving, and entertaining session.

I drink (in moderation) most drinks but gin wasn't my thing. After trying Wills tipple I'm converted. I am off to buy some more ! Will is a friendly likable guy who's hard work has started to come together. Cheers to the future.

Reasonably small collection of local artists work. Nothing very expensive, but a nice selection of work ranging from £50 - £400. Includes a few nice non-painted pieces eg ceramics, vases, bowls, decorations. Not the place to visit if you're looking for a Constable or Turner masterpiece, but good for reasonably priced local artist works.

Nice little gallery which has recently opened in Tonbridge. Promotes artists from the locality and covers all aspects of the artistic spectrum. My tutor, Victoria Wainwright is exhibiting, tonight being her first evening.

Teddies is run here. It is a really great community service as there are so few free play groups for children in this affluent area. These types of services should not be so limited. But I guess in an affluent area who cares about the struggling parents? The council should do more. Especially, on weekends and not just during term time. Thank you Teddies for providing this. Not enough like this exists. I originally come from outside of Kent where I was had free children's groups that occured frequently. Tonbridge and Malling Council should be ashamed of itself. They should not be leaving it up to the charity of the church.

The membership is very varied, from actors, of course, in every age group, to set builders and painters, people who help with site maintenance, cleaners, people to run the bar and tea during performances. Good venue for the Christmas pantomime that I attended. Five adults, three children, and I think the adults enjoyed it most with all the innuendos from the cast. We were in the top back row and were able to see well, as the layout is good. We will definitely return for the next pantomime

Saw a panto put on by Chris Park's School Of Panto tonight. Amazing show that was very entertaining and enjoyable put on by a fantastic group of young people. If you'd like to see your kids on stage or they would like to try you could do no better than to enroll in one of The School Of Panto's classes. The show's are well worth seeing.

Had a fantastic afternoon watching 'little mermaid' not sure what i was expecting, but the family had a really great time havent laughed so much in a long time. I would recommend seeing a show at the Theatre. We are planning booking the Panto.

Lovely theatre. Always clean and staff are lovely. It does get get very warm inside when there is a show on, so I'd advise taking some water and not wrapping up too warmly!

Thoroughly enjoyable show of Pirate Rock ! Very talented people and good venue although no parking so had to park in the school car park and walk ( not sure if this was by prior agreement, so please check and don't assume OK )

Lovely small theatre, with the best legroom of anywhere I've been to see shows. Being tall I always struggle with legroom but in here there's plenty of space. We've been here a few times to see pantomime at Christmas and each seat has always had an excellent view of the stage.

Once again a fabulous performance at the EM Forster Threatre. A great venue that really brings the audience together. Comfortable seating and good visibility all round

My 3 year-old grandson enjoyed the show (Stickman) but for a longer performance the seats would soon become uncomfortable. Clean toilets lots of helpful staff but very limited range of snacks available in the foyer coffee bar.

I went to your em Forster theatre with school and all of my class to see Aladdin the musical on Wednesday and it was very good Some bits of it made me laugh Your theatre gets a 5 out of 5 star rating

Depends on what you are seeing, we saw the LAMPS, Return to the Forbidden Planet, they were excellent.

Theatre was great, warm welcome from friendly staff. Watched the Talentz Panto which was fantastic

Lovely place for a short hike, we didn't see many birds but I bet its great at dusk. The walks are really well signposted. There's not much parking, only room for 2-3 cars. But such a lovely calm and quiet place for a walk. Very glad we stopped here.

There were a lot of trees cut down, no green area to sit down. It was impossible to push a stroller through the paths. We gave up after a half hr and left. Might be good for just adults looking for a hike, not for kids.

Lovely winter walk round Tudeley woods, 3 mile heathland link trail. Needs a couple of hours to take it in. Well sign posted & maintained. good paths, steep in places.

Enjoyed the walk, lovely autumn day. Definitey need Wellington boots as it is very wet snd muddy.

First time visit, very little parking, gate locked. Tudeley Woods was brilliant, we got there at 3pm, left 9:30 pm. Trails very well worn, quite steep in some places, walked for miles, saw foxes, Deer and Buzzards. Went to see Nightjars, but none around. Worth a visit, will definitely go again. Didn't see one other person.

Really nice walk, quite flat all the way round and has a clear path to follow. Full of wildlife as well. Took me about 45mins to get round the Brakeybank Trail.

Wonderful hidden gem! Lovely sandwiches and very helpful and polite staff. Sun was shining when we visited so we able to table advantage of the garden.

We popped in for lunch having explored Hadlow for the first time. Friendly staff, cosy rustic country vibe. The sandwiches were very generous, and delicious. The bread was super fresh tasting. Many gorgeous looking cakes on display too, but we didn’t have room for them! Lots of quirky antique items you can buy surround you at your table. We will definitely be visiting again.

A bijou coffee and antique shop , had a fantastic visit there for a friend's 50th birthday. Love it will be our regular stop over going to the seaside

I love this place! It is quirky and quaint and offers a wonderful alternative to a pub (it was previously a pub). The food offering is simple but superbly done - soup, sandwiches and cakes - and all freshly made. If you want aomething off menu, they will try to accommodate. It is dog friendly - water bowls and treats always available.

Really lovely little place. VERY busy. Sandwiches were delicious. Loved the vintage goods around us. Only down side was it was difficult to look around the shop because tables were full and didn't want to impose on those eating.

Wow. What an amazing place. Like an Aladdin's cave of beautiful, french, vintage artifacts. So much to look at and reasonable prices. Stylish and very good quality. Several rooms for sitting to eat in. Amazing cakes, good coffee and the most delicious cheese and homemade chutney toastie. Great place for a catch up with friends.

Nice little drop off in Hadlow. Nice atmosphere in this coffee shop, lots of cakes and drinks on offer. The inside is really nice with lots of trinkets and decor to buy if something catches your eye. Friendly staff. Recommended.

Favourite place to take my mum. Staff and service is absolutely fantastic. They are so kind to my elderly mother. Food is always first class. Highly recommended if you've never visited.
