This place was so fun. It was amazing weather which added to the magnificence, but the atmosphere of the walk itself was so good. There were actors who were great for the kids and plenty of places to sit down and rest. They do have places that supply food and drink, but even though there isn't any gluten free hot foods, the ice cream was lovely and not all-together expensive. It's a great place to burn a few hours and so close to other great sights. Will definitely go back

Apparently England’s oldest tourist attraction & I’m so pleased it’s still going strong. A walk along the river bank gets you to the waterfall where objects are hung up to be petrified ( turned to stone ) Behind this is a well lit up with different coloured lights & opposite is a cave with the statue of Mother Shipton herself. Further along the river bank is the museum & shop. You can purchase a stone bear that’s come from the waterfall. There’s coffee huts too that also sell black ice cream which was delicious.

Really loved it here and a fascinating place to visit. From the Petrifying Well which had a recording you could active to here all about the well to the cave Mother Shipton was born in and the wishing well all very well looked after and plenty of information to read about its history. As it's Christmas time there were plenty of decorations and a Santa's Grotto for the children to visit which was lovely. If you are interested in this kind of thing then I highly recommend a visit and at £11.00 per adult if you are arriving by foot the price was not to bad .

The first time we went here was over 16 years ago and enjoyed the experience. So we decided to go back again and take our son, it has changed so much. Brilliant place for the kids now, take a picnic as lovely places to sit and picnic tables and lovely views. There is a large play park and it was a lovely walk. There is a few car parks so go with your car.

Easy to find. Plenty of parking. Easy walking along the trails, but steps down to the cave and wishing we'll, so unsuitable for wheelchair users or those who struggle with stairs. Kiosk which sells hot drinks - good quality coffee, snacks and amazing ice cream, at a very reasonable price. Plenty of places to sit and eat. Large adventure playground for active energic children!

Lovely little walk it took just over a hour to walk round. There’s loads off lovely picnics hut tables. You get 2.30 hours in there and you’re not allowed to leave your car there to look round the town. The water fall is amazing. The views are incredible. They’re a nice little park for the kids. The museum was good and very interesting. Go check it out.

My wife has always wanted to visit, so we decided to give it a try. It's dog friendly as well so added bonus. It's assumed more at younger people I would say duck as children, but it was interesting to listen about the history of the place.

Beautiful place, dog friendly too. The children themed decorations were perfect for visiting families. The well and cave take you back to a place where time stands still in this peaceful location. All the staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble.

It was a lovely day out. We took a picnic with us. They have lots of little huts and benches that you can sit in and eat your picnic. It's a really nice place to take the kids. The story of witch is interesting and the cave and water fall have audio outputs which give you information. Walking by the river is lovely also, you see people enjoying their day by rowing small boats. I would definitely recommend it to others.

I booked the ticket online to visit this Easter break for £33 for the car park and entrance ticket. We were late because we were lost 😂. However, the staff at the entrance was still helpful and informative. We parked near the river and walked a long way to the cave. On the midway, they have an area of Easter activities which looks impressive and exciting for kids, and they have a playground for kids, which is good, but it is pretty muddy and slippery on that day. They have a coin tree where you can put the coin in the tree, which looks interesting to do that. They have some kiosks for drinks and food. We walked to Mother's Shipton cave, where located near the river. It surprised me when I saw the natural cave, where they claim she used to live, which is small and will be cold in the wintertime. We went to the well to wish them luck, too; it is the main goal for this visit 😁 We went to the gift shop at the end of the walking path. It is small but has its signature souvenir. The ticket allowed you to take time for 2.5 hours as it covers the whole area.

Went during the school holidays, not too busy. My little boy loved meeting the mermaid and pirate (who was fabulous with the children) nice little play area, lots of places to sit including picnic benches, ice cream, coffee, hot chocolate available. Nice little museum area and gift shop. Cave, waterfall and wishing well was lovely to see.

We had an amazing Christmas experience today. The event was eell organised, with fantastic attention to detail, amazing staff & it was a truly magical experience for young and old alike!

I last came about 25 years ago when I was very young and have been wanting a return visit for ages. We came on a bit of a spur of the moment, and honestly had the best time. The setting is gorgeous, such a nice little walk. Lots to see as we were going around. It was a bit drizzly which meant it was fairly quiet so we had a peaceful walk. But the absolute highlight of our visit today was the Mad Hatter, Tumbleweed and the lovely lady in the easter dress who's name I didn't get - they were wonderful, always in character and absolutely brilliant. I laughed so much and they made our visit entirely ! Amazing time, thank you !

Highly recommend to visit if you have children . Our first time with our 6 months old baby. Oh we loved it and we are planning our return trip. The staff are all friendly. The environment is all well looked after.

This is a lovely place to visit! They always have extra activities for the kids in the holidays too! A lovely walk to get go the cave & waterfall (there are lots of steps in places) and the museum is really interesting too.

Really cool place to visit, with seasonal themes depending on when you go. We visited just over a week ago, so as you can expect there was a heavy emphasis on Easter with Beatrix Potter-inspired set designs and Alice in Wonderland actors, music and puppets. Very well done and definitely something kids would love. However, plenty for those without kids to enjoy too - we visited without our little one, and still thoroughly enjoyed it. The Cave itself is nestled next to the main river flowing through Knaresborough and is indeed a sight to behold. Extremely picturesque and an ideal location for a leisurely walk to take in the scenery and heritage. The venue is self-contained but you can still see plenty of Knaresborough as you make your way from the entrance to the event area (with tents stuffed full of eager actors, music and fluffy bunnies), before reaching the Cave and, of course, the obligatory overpriced gift shop. I have to say that perhaps the most impressive element of Mother Shipton's Cave, even above the obvious historic value, is the quality of the main event space setup. The actors' costumes look fantastic, and are extremely engaging with younger visitors. The whole environment is very well done and is the absolute antithesis of the now infamous Glasgow Willy Wonka experience! As ever, I cannot grant Mother Shipton's Cave the perfect 5/5 rating purely because I am a tight northerner, and begrudge some of the prices these places charge, especially once you've already parted way with your dosh to get inside, only to be hit with captive-market pricing for tea, coffee and snacks. Of course, this is all optional, but with the price of admission (which is more if you decide to park your car inside) being a tad on the expensive side, it's something I have to raise. Otherwise, a definite recommend for somewhere to visit, especially as you have plenty to see and do in Knaresborough afterwards (which is what we did). Will definitely be going again in future.

Hadn't been since I was a kid....So as we were visiting Knaresborough thought we'd have a couple of hours there! Fortunately it was a sunny day, and the walk was nice. Nice additions to the site too....enjoyed looking in the shop at the end and made a couple of purchases! Really enjoyed it....

Lovely, quaint attraction. You are limited to 2.5 hours car parking but that is enough to enjoy the riverside walk and the caves and well. We visited during the Easter event and found it really enjoyable, the storyteller was very good and the mad hatter and gardener both hilarious. I would definitely visit again during a special event. Only 4 stars as the baby changing facilities weren't great, a very tight squeeze in a cubicle above a toilet with nowhere to rest the changing bag, place wipes etc and I imagine it could get very cold in there on a wet and chilly day.

A truly magical place for an afternoon trip, enjoyable in any weather, lots of space for a picnic and for children to play and run. Mother Shipton's Cave is a little Yorkshire gem! Wholeheartedly recommended.

The history of the castle is impressive enough, but you’d be daft not visiting the town and coming here for the great views over the river and streets below - totally picturesque and on a sunny day it’s a great place to chill out. Loads of seating, places for picnics, nearby pubs and shops - fantastic hub for a day in the town.

Visited here a lot when I was much younger. Lovely place to sit and bring your lunch. Fabulous views down to the river, great photo opportunities and if you're lucky there may even be a train going across the viaduct. Also right by the town centre for a mixture of shops and cafés. Take the steps, if you're feeling fit, down to a beautiful Riverside walk. No entry charges.

We were here the first Saturday of the month which meant there was an artisan market on. The market was great, lots of stalls selling some great local and Yorkshire products. We had a nice walk around as it was a lovely sunny day. Not sure there is much to do without the market but would certainly visit again when it is on. The views are stunning and worth a visit!

Such a stunning town with the river running through it & the viaduct crossing over. The castle gives amazing views across to the town as it’s perched atop the hill. The castle is sadly ruins but there is a tower you can pay to enter & a museum on site. The rest is free to view & has a park to wander around within the walls.

The remaining parts of the Castle are fun to explore, with a grand hall of sorts available to view in the daytime. There’s also an excellent view of the surrounding area offering an almost 360* view of both the river and the train bridge (which is particularly picturesque)

Enjoyed a coffee and then visited the Little Birds market in Castle grounds. Held each month. Good variety of stalls. And the setting has one of the best views in the UK, from the Castle onto the River Nidd.

Wonderful place. The museum is tiny but cute, and the castle is tiny but it's such a delight to be able to walk around. It is small so it was great we chose a day that wasn't too busy.

What is left of the castle is really small but the architecture is amazing, gives you a sense of what it was really like. The court museum was interesting too and the woman on reception was lovely. People have graffitied in the castle dungeon which is completely disrespectful and disgusting defacing something of such historical importance. It wasn't expensive to get in and easily killed an hour of our time. The view over the viaduct and the river was worth the trip alone. An amazing beautiful place. I can't recommend this highly enough. So glad we went there.

Stunning location. Parked very close to Castle £1.60 for 4 hours. Very steep incline down to waterside but worth it . There is parking lower down we found after.

Cute wee village on the side of a valley. Steep steps to get to the riverside, but offers a spectacular view of the bridge. There is a moderate charge to go see the museum and castle ruins, though the grounds are free

It's not all that to be honest. It's £3.80 for adults to walk around inside but there it would only take about 5 minutes as the there's nothing really to see. The view from the Castle looking at the viaduct is pretty, but overall, not the best Castle ruins. It's a lovely town and has a good range of shops including a few charity shops.

Fantastic visit to Knaresborough and the Castle, an amazing history and fortification dating back to 1066. The views over the gorge to that awesome viaduct are breathtaking. It's a must visit.

Absolutely loved it here!! Very interesting seeing the castle remains and the museum. Gorgeous setting would highly recommend! Even a lido at the bottom of the stairs there for kids to play! Really good spend the whole day there !

Stumbled on the castle by accident as we pulled into the car park . Had wander around , the grounds and green areas very well maintained. History available either via the museum or information boards. Stunning views of the viaduct from the walled area. Plenty of seats to just sit and take in the view. Enjoyable wander round.... One thing maybe the big black bin could be moved to the other side of the path as photo wise it looks awful in front of the castle ...

Very much enjoyed our whistle stop visit to Knaresborough Castle despite it being a bright but cold and very windy day! Fabulous view down into the valley and the castle still stands proud despite not a lot of it left - sadly I didn't do my omework, so museum not open on the day of our visit. Would deffo recommend a look x

Lovely place ...walks by the river ...lots of public toilets plenty of places for food and drinks ...up to the castle lovely gardens and nice centre pubs and bakery found one no prices but bread and butter pudding to tempting to ask price ..that and a fruit cream pastry..£10.25 ...wow !!! This town is a magic with its beautiful buildings, houses, riverside, castle, streets, and so on. It is a must to see. We really loved our walk there and absolutely going for an other one next time.

What a beautiful afternoon we had exploring Knaresborough! I highly recommend taking a lovely walk along the river as the view of the viaduct and green landscape around is quite breathtaking.

Such a beautiful place for a picnic, this natural nature reserve is a wonderful beautiful spot which it great for children and big children to explore. It's great to see no litter about or any poo bags. The only thing that lets it down is the £5 per adult, it's too expensive. It should be £5 per car really as it's just a walk. I also wish the lake was in use and you could hire small boats out or even i could just paddle board on there. Now that would be worth £6 per adult :)

Really nice place for visiting and leisure. It is good for families with children, not good for families with baby in pram, it is better to choose sling or carrier, because of waking path ups and downs, between rocks and muddy leaf litter. You can fishing or make picnic. Ticket for adults 3,5£ but for 5 person car you paid 10£.

It's a nice place to walk around, but not really sure why it should cost a fiver per adult, as it isn't that large and there's not really anything much for them to maintain. However there is some lovely wildlife to see along with the rocky side of the lake. Seeing a swan chasing a duck along the length of the water was entertaining, and there are some very large fish lurking under the lilly pads.

No cafes or toilets but stunning landscape for a family picnic or a romantic walk. Must wear appropriate shoes. It could be dangerous with little ones. No suitable for pushchairs

This place is a real surprise, we were expecting some kind of scaled down Brimham Rocks, but this place is so much more beautiful. I would recommend bringing a picnic blanket if you plan on having a chill out or a picnic as there are no picnic tables. But other than that, it’s amazing.

Please be aware, this places costs £5 PER AUDULT! there's no indication of the charge until you're at the entrance. The car park is very "hit and miss" as you end up just parking where ever you can. In terms of the rocks, they're interesting and worth seeing, but not enough in my opinion to warrant the cost they're charging. There's no marked out routes, and you simply have to wander around, without really knowing where you're going. I have to question what the entry charge is for, and there appears to be zero outlay from an upkeep perspective. Also, please be aware that parts can be VERY steep. I saw a couple of pensions pay to enter and quickly gave uo as they were physically unable to do anything. Overall, I personally wouldn't recommend, as the cost isn't worth it.

Absolutely stunning location and a lovely walk! And is dog friendly. Rated 3 stars due to the a few reasons. The walking routes are not clearly marked however there is a map but we didn’t find this until the end. You can see where others have walked but there are no “paths” so not mobility friendly at all. £10 entry (£5 per person ) kids are free. I understand this contributes to the up keep of the area however every bin was over flowing…there are zero facilities once you are there….the car park isn’t great on wet days it just felt some what over priced. They DO NOT TAKE CARDS it’s cash only on entry so we had to leave to find a cash machine (Sainsbury’s towards Harrogate is the nearest) Would be nice to see a few picnic benches and some signage on the routes

Lovely little walk and a great place to explore the unusual rocks and manmade lake. For £5 entry could do with having facilities, would definitely go back as a great place for a picnic on a summer's day.

We have visited plumpton rocks a few times now and we love it. Such a beautiful place for a peaceful walk. Our 3 kids love it too (13, 10 and 7)

We had our wedding here and it was perfect. The team of co-ordinators are amazing, so helpful and made the process of planning so much easier. The guests loved the venue and found places to stay nearby. The photos are unbelievable! Food from Bradshaws was absolutely brilliant too!

My wife & I Got married at Allerton mid December and had a perfect day. The venue is absolutely fantastic & I would highly recommend anyone who is looking at getting married to take a look at Allerton Castle. The staff who work there are all very friendly & really helped to make our special day the best day possible. Thank you Allerton!

What a wonderful space to witness a beautiful ceremony of holy matrimony!

We had our wedding at Allerton Castle in May and the experience was not only unforgettable and magical but also a breeze. From the moment we saw photos of the castle we knew that was our venue. Sophie was our coordinator and she was so helpful the entire process. We were planning everything from the US, so we figured it was going to be very difficult to get this coordinated. We were wrong though. Sophie answered all of our questions swiftly and with detail. She had suggestions for us when we needed vendor advice, and the venue as a whole, was very flexible with any requests that we had. Bradshaw’s (catering for the venue) was equally as helpful and kind. The venue is absolutely stunning. Every room more impressive than the last. Warning, we barely had guests dancing because they were too busy exploring and taking photos of the space itself. On the actual wedding day, everything went without a hitch, and everyone was floored by the venue. It was a lot to ask of our guests to all fly in from the US, but we got an overwhelming response that it was worth the journey. We had dozens of guest tell us that they’d been to many weddings where the food was sub-par but that the food at Allerton (Bradshaws) was the best they’d had. Thank you so much Allerton Castle for making this truly the most magical day in our lives

Amazing venue, the staff were incredibly helpful and patient. Place was spotless, the food was amazing.

My husband and I chose Allerton Castle as our wedding venue for November of this year, and we definitely made the right decision! Our wedding planner, Zoë, was amazing from day 1, always there if we needed her, and gave us so much support and guidance and really went above and beyond on our wedding day. The Allerton Castle selected caterers, Bradshaw's of York, gave an excellent choice of food and drinks and were prepared to cater for my gluten free guests. All of the food and drinks were brilliant and excellent quality and the service was outstanding. All of the staff on the day were extremely professional and pleasant. We stayed overnight and the bed fit for royalty within the bridal suite was extremely comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was lovely too. Ourselves and our guests were all stunned with the beauty and detail of the building both inside and out, it really has a wow factor! I really could not recommend Allerton Castle enough for people who are considering it for their wedding venue. It was the best day of my life and I wish I could go back and do it all over again!

I brought the groom and best man here before going onto Ripon Cathedral for the ceremony then back here fore the reception. Wow, what a beautiful place! Had no idea it was here but its stunning. I intend to book a trip round the house this year.

I regular use Allerton castle and grounds to run workshops and training for my dog sport training business. To state the obvious, the castle and grounds are beautiful in themselves, but on top of that, the staff always go above and beyond to accomodate our needs. Communication on the lead to events is always attentive and timely and the whole experience from start to finish is super and stress free. Can highly recommend both the inside and outdoor grounds for business functions, workshops and events ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lovely gardens to walk through. There's decent paths going round the place, lots of plants and a paddling pool (not filled today). There's also a way to get to the castle through the gardens. Would recommend a visit.

It's just a hole in the side of a cliff and some foundations, only visit if you are passing, visit the café over the other side of the river, amazing views down the valley and of the weir.

June 2022. Visited this little cave whilst in Knaresborough. Upon seeing this little statue in the bushes I got a bit of a fright and stumbled back. Thought it was a person. Creepy thing!

Lovely walk to St Roberts Cave passing some stunning houses on the Riverside.The cave has an information board when you get to it and some information leaflets.Fascinating to think he lived in that cave for 30 years.

Worth a short stop for a look, as part of a walk round Knaresborough. A nice spot next to the river. The steps from the small road down to the cave are not long but can be a bit slippery and there's no handrail so beware.

A beautiful place, every where you look it's breath taking. A wonderful place for all the family.

Pretty much, an unlit cave. Has religious significance, so may well be of interest to some people. Interesting story on an information panel. Watermill Cafe, overlooking a weir, available just across the bridge over the Nidd for refreshments.

St Roberts cave . A master piece in history. Lots 0f steps so take care walking down and very narrow steps. No wheel chair access..

Interesting place to go and see along the banks of the River. We walked from the town centre down past the castle, along the River. Plenty to see, wood carvings along the way and the old chapel Makes a nice circular walk bringing you back out into the A59 heading back into Knaresborough from the York direction.

Beautiful spot! regardless of you are religious or not or if you are or are not xtian. Amazing little bit of history.

We arrived to find it was unfortunately closed it has limited opening times but we were extremely lucky as three of the ladies who are trustees were working in the grounds and very kindly not only opened the chapel for us but also gave us a mini tour and talk on the history one of the ladies explained that they have limited resources to open daily but if anyone wishing to visit the chapel contacts their web site they will.do their best to accomodate4. Well worth a visit lovely location and very interesting history

It’s only 15 minutes walk from the castle. Usually opened from 2-4pm (Sundays-Summer season) but groups or pilgrims can arrange different time contacting the volunteers. The figure of a knight holding a sword which is carved into the exterior wall is really impressive (probably 1408). If you are in Knaresborough take the opportunity to enjoy the peace provided by this place

Fantastic local theatre in Knaresborough run by really enthusiastic volunteers. Great venue. They have plays/ theatre, acoustic/ musical events and comedy events. The Frazer Theatre Comedy Club is the first Friday of every month. They have a bar on site. The staff/ volunteers are really friendly and helpful.

Good venue. Not that easy (for me!) to find but it's comfortable, warm and welcoming. Small, intimate hall, I'm guessing about 100 people and it was nearly full but the band tonight made it special. Curved Air, lovely! They serve you a drink, the seating is fine even for a two hour concert. Toilets are clean and easy to find. Nice fish and chip shop nearby to round the night off. Will go back no problem.

Fabulous show .'.The Vicar of Dibley ', it was brilliantly done, by all, well done!! ..lovely little Theatre too, and very reasonable refreshments , definitely go again!! Xx

Beautiful church with wonderful stained glass windows. Surrounded by a park and tucked away behind the busy main street.

Grade 1 listed church, it's the largest church in Knaresborough. Dates mostly to the 15th century, but also has elements of 12th century structure. Church restored in 1878. There is a Norman chapel, a late medieval font in ornate Gothic style, some of the beautiful stained glass windows are from the William Morris studio. Worth a visit.

This is an absolute jem. Wonderful feeling inside and stunning stained glass windows. St John the Baptist Church is a parish church in the Church of England located in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. It is the largest church in the town. Records of a church on this site date back to at least 1114 when records from Nostell Priory, Wakefield show that King Henry I granted the "Church at Cnaresburgh" to the canons at Nostell. The church was originally dedicated to St Mary but was changed to its current name in the 16th century following reform after the English reformation. The bells were hung in 1774 and the clock erected in 1884.

Lovely church which when we visited was holding a Christmas Tree festival full of Christmas trees designed by local businesses and groups it was really lovely with some amazingly imaginative trees.

Very rude lady on reception. I made it to the top of the steps where she was chatting on the phone as I just entered the doorway she covered her handset and said we don’t allow dogs. To which I replied some signage may help informing people to this. Another couple coming out also noticed this and commented she’s a bit rude and also said there’s no notice anywhere. 😡

A full, very busy pool on a weekend and they decide to section off 25% of it for a swimming lesson. Sorry but when you advertise a general swim, I would expect to be able to actually swim. No room to do lengths as there are so many people in the way. I was asked to leave the lane swimming area.... what am I paying for ? A cold bath ?

A missed opportunity, while it's a stunning building, shiny and new... both the pool and gym facilities are flawed to the point where I'm scratching my head thinking how on earth did this get past planning. I've tried so hard to make the gym work for me, but unfortunately the lack of equipment means that I'm constantly having to substitute workouts. There is a lot of useless kit which could be replaced with something more useful. There is only one cable machine for example so expect to have to wait while someone does their entire workout on that one machine. After asking for two months, still no rope attachments either, I had to bring my own in. This is basic equipment. In terms of the pool, it's okay, but not really an improvement on what we had before. As a parent, I find it frustrating that the learner pool is at the other end of the building so you can't watch over your kids.

Had a nice swim with my grand daughter. Pool looking a little worse for wear but it's due an upgrade ( Being rebuilt) . Water cool . Jacuzzi warm

Not the warmest pool for little ones but still a good option. The place does get very busy and can be overwhelming for some but it's main benefits over local baths is that it has more open hours for family swimming and you don't have to worry about it getting full or running out of time (starbeck has this problem). Friendly staff and good changing facilities for families.

Great pool but male staff have an attitude almost patronising adults. Told a few off then got stared at while swimming. Plus the prices have Increased. Need more professional staff instead they employ staff who have just left school. Doubt I will returning.

The staff were amazing when too many people turned up for the fun swim on a very wet and stormy North Yorkshire day. The closure of Harrogate Hydro pool for refurbishment during the summer holidays has had a knock on effect on the other pools. Can't wait to visit the new Knaresborough pool that's nearly completed.

Took my boy for the fun family swim but was unaware that in order to participate on the inflatable, you have to be able to swim a length unaided. I do get why they do this but I think they need to be more clear in displaying this (maybe something in red or bold highlighted) otherwise there will be a lot of disappointed children, fortunately there was a tunnel slide to save the day otherwise it would have been swimming in a normal pool and not what he was promised.

Sorry but it's just not as nice as the pool it replaced. Leisure pool is tiny and very very shallow and fills up very quickly so you can't actually swim anywhere. The slide isn't as good as the old one, no jacuzzi like before. What a shame. On a positive note the facilities were clean and tidy, staff were friendly, nice cafe. Pool and changing area was warm.

Fantastic facility. Warm pools. Big pool and a nice baby pool which is surrounded by super high windows and the sun shines onto you all and it feels like summer all year round! Lovely changing facilities too

Used to travel 30 minutes from home for this pool. It was our favourite. Unfortunately we won't be returning. They have ripped the heart out of what was our favourite leisure centre. Such a shame that they have removed the jacuzzi and not made the slide go into the pool like it used to. We have far superior facilities closer to home. It was clean but the smaller pool was tiny. Too full of people to do any swimming with our 8 year old. We didn't enjoy our experience and won't be returning.

Very, very disappointed. Took both my kids to the new pool since it has been built and got told we had to wait 45 mins as the pool was too full. The new leisure pool is absolutely tiny, and without any kind of correct booking system to ensure fair use of the pool, a lot of people including ourselves were turned away. This used to be a fantastic place we loved to take the kids, the pools were well heated, brilliant slide, lots of space and enough room for everyone. What an absolute shame that it does not even come close to representing the place it once was. Upon reading other reviews it seems the new slide doesn't even go into the pool anymore? And that people are turned away due to it being full on a regular basis. Very disappointing. We will not be returning.

Very friendly and professional staff, lovely cafe and good, clean facilities. Keep it up! Some classes very popular though and it's difficult to book.

The pool and the changing rooms are ok. But the actual running of it is appalling. The system of set hour long sessions. This means everyone is getting out of the pool and arriving for the next session at the same time (they allow a 5 minute gap!!) . The changing rooms if you can get one are rammed and you're likely not going to get a shower afterwards. If you arrive on the hour then you have to join a massive queue and if you arrive after the hour you run the risk of not getting in but also your hour long session is less than an hour. Or you can wait 45 - 50 mins for the next session and wait for the next round of chaos. All of this is utter madness. Not to mention the parking carnage. Whoever thinks this system works needs to be reassigned. The whole debacle is such a nightmare. All sessions should be staggered. Even every 15 minutes allowing a steady flow in and out of the pool. If you would like to see a great system of how this works then go to Calypso Cove in Barnsley. There is a flow of people in and out at all times and you can always get a changing room and a shower. The system at Knaresborough pool is horrendous to the point where we wont' go again. Kids crying, people rushing through into the changing area with muddy shoes on to avoid losing time. All in all horrendous. We have one very upset child.
