One of the finest and must visit Water Falls in the North Wales. The force of the water falls is so high and it's just a treat to the eyes. If you close your eyes for a minute, you can feel and enjoy the nature and trust me it's a make you float in the air. You will go to imaginary world. The sound of air, chipping sound birds, ripples of water will get you the goosebumps. For my eyes entire North Wales is one of the best place in the UK. Everyone should visit atleast once in their life time. Their is a entry ticket of 2 pounds per person. Though they are collecting the entry ticket it's shame that their is no facilities like Toilets, Cafe... They need to provide a basic facility like Toilets. If you are driving a car their is a few parking space available. Also their is a bus station close by. Since i drove the car I'm not sure about the frequency of the bus.

Absolutely stunning waterfall, very relaxing to listen to. There is wheelchair access to see the main waterfall which I think is amazing to be inclusive. If you want to explore further down there are a lot of steps to go up and down, and there is railing however it is getting very rusted and will need repair soon. The entry fee was £2 which was reasonable considering how well maintained it was. There is very limited parking, especially as the hotel opposite has gone so there is even less parking.

Beautiful, stunning falls. Few steps, great viewing points. Highly recommend. £2 per person. Layby at the top on the main road. Hotel and bar across the road that was being renovated at the time. April 2024.

Visited in September 2019. I almost gave up to see the waterfall, because during my 2 weeks holiday almost every day I drove on that road A5, and never had a chance to to stop, as the car park was always extremely busy. To be honest it is not a big car park, but someone goes away, 3 others waiting for that space. It can be easier sometimes to park on the other side of the road where is the Swallow falls hotel/pub with its own parking. But because this is the busiest road of the mountain it's not easy to cross the road. The falls are between the Ugly house and Betws-y-Coed on the very side of the road. Then just 2 days before my holiday ended,one evening I found parking space, so I stopped immediately. It is not a huge attraction or something we spend more than 30 minutes by the way, so it's surprising that the car park is always busy. The entrance is a narrow barred iron gate works with coins, £2 per head to get in. I found it very strange, because the waterfall is just next to the road, and seems that it was fenced only for tourists, to get access for money. And as I said, the time we spend there is no more than half an hour but even that is too long. Quite a few steps leads down to different very wet terraces, and it is indeed a lovely waterfall and we can take nice pictures. I can advise to go there early morning or later afternoon/evening, when we can parking easier, and also the terraces are less busy. But be prepared with coins to get in. It is nothing else there, just stairs down to the terraces and back to the gate, I remember 1-2 benches, but that's it.

Stunning. A must see. Well worth the £2 entry fee. As well as the viewing point down a few steps, recommend going down the many steps to see the view from lower down. Helpful and pleasant staff member at the gate. All the parking spaces outside were taken so we parked up the road at Cae'n y Coed National Forest which has a free car park and only a five mins walk from Swallow Falls.

I was surprised to find that you had to pay to see the waterfall but once I did I could see it's well looked after and the stress is made safe. You need £2 per person or it takes contactless cards. Stunning place to spend a few minutes in nature.

Entry fee is £2 per adult and £1 per child under the age of 14. Nice relaxing visit with not too many people around. I also like the fact that the venue was not crowded, so plenty of opportunities to get that perfect Instagram photo.

What an amazing place to come and visit! So beautiful! There is a £2.00 charge to get in but certainly worth it! You can pay by card with contactless. The entry is through a very narrow revolving gate... not so great if you are on the chunkier side!🤷🤣

For the best experience, it's recommended to visit the site during or after heavy rainfall to see the waterfalls in full flow. An incredible natural beauty and lovely location. Hidden away and took my breath away, 100% would recommend. Parking available too. Very beautiful, you can pay by card to get in, wasn't busy. It's dog friendly. You can take dogs with you. It's definitely worth a visit. Apparently, it's best to go after good rainfall, which is what we did.

Beautiful area , exhilarating falls! We went when it was icy and snowing so had to be extra careful on the steps. This didn't takeaway from the beautiful views though. There are platforms so you can get the best views . It really is good for the soul. There was a charge going through a turnstile but there's facilities to use your card . Will definately go back in different seasons.

This waterfall was great. There was still a lot of incoming water, although it was a winter now. Both upper view and lower tier view were outstanding. Going down stairs about 5 minutes. Fir both tier, we spend 15 minutes only. £1 per entry using contactless autopay method. No cash excepted. No security guard at entrance

Parking is on the opposite side of the A5 to the North, about 150 yards. Access is via a coin or card turnstile. This is not wheelchair or limited mobility friendly. The falls are accessed via steep and uneven steps with various viewpoints available. Word of advice: look over the wall when on the A5 pavement to see if there is any water in the river. Don't waste money if there isn't. We were lucky as per the photos.

There are no words for how beautiful this place is. Bring some coins with you as there is a turnstile that takes coins. 1 or 2 pound coins work, not sure for smaller ones.

Went to see this on a week day . Very slite rain, on and off . 2 other couples there. We was there for about 30 minutes when we left the sun was out . And there was about 20 people around us .

We've been here for the forest coaster and it was the best thing ever. Money well spent, what a thrilling experience! I'm so happy we've found this place, honestly. The location of this place is absolutely beautiful, well organised and maintained, friendly and knowledgeable staff, absolutely recommended to anyone. Get out there and have fun! 🤩

A brilliant place! The Zip Safari, high in the forest canopy is amazing! Stunning views and challenging obstacles, all linked by zip wires. The Tree Hoppers Course is great for smaller kids and the Coaster is good fun. Staff are very professional, ensuring that safety is a priority, but keeping the whole experience fun. Big car park. Reasonable food and drink. Amazing views and a great day out. Would highly recommend, the kids have a great time in a beautiful place.

A must try in UK! You can get 20% off when you bought 2nd facilities. The forest coaster has 3 rides, and if you buy their video they would give you one extra ride, which means you could have 4 rides! For people who did not want to play plummet, go try the Sky ride! So much fun and the view is fascinating!

Amazing adventure with all the family. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful at all times. The track cars were fast and sharp. The kids said it was absolutely brilliant! Highly recommended for everyone! Get ready to find your inner child.

Great day out, highly recommend coming here. The roller Coaster was fantastic and really fast. And the kids high wire was great plus quite large, will keep them busy for a while.

Had lots of fun, booked for the forest coaster which was very fun; you can slow down and speed up using the levers whenever you want and you get 3 goes each. Also went on the tree hoppers with a younger sibling which was fun for him but also for me as if I'd never been on a zipline before even if it was mainly for younger children. Also your second activity gets a 20% discount if you paid for one that day.

Had a great family experience with our 4 year old. We did the treetop nets, it was perfect for her and lots of fun for all ages. You get an hour on the nets which is perfect amount of time. We especially liked the donut slide We had lunch in the little cafe and all had burgers which were very tasty and severed quickly Will definitely return when she is a bit older and taller to do the other activities

Really lovely place. We only went on the forest coaster, but even with a 5 and 7 year old there were two other activities we could have booked. Forest Coaster was clearly the busiest activity. Overall really great outdoor activity even in the rain.

Great experience in the forest zip park... kids enjoyed the forest coaster. It was really fun for kids to enjoy the rids. There are lots of free spaces for parking . The toilets were clean and well maintained. Great customer services and staff were professional ..

Just the best. We only did the toboggan through the forest, although there are other exhilarating activities to do. At first, I was scared at how high the cars went before they rode down, but when I completed the first course, I was excited to go again. You get 3 goes, and it is brilliant because you control your speed, although you only break slightly if you are plunging round the tight corners. My partner didn't hit the breaks once until he got to the end. My boys loved it. 😍

What a wet and miserable day but made totally fun by our couple of hours spent here. The Zip Coaster was good fun, with 3 goes for your money. What a laugh as we challenged each other not to brake at all! Plenty of free parking, and the staff were great. Money well spent and recommended

Fantastic! Whole family had a go on the forest roller coaster which was a lot of fun and something unique in the UK, I think. You get 3 runs down for the price. Well maintained, great forest location. Also did the swing which was fun. Cafe was good, nice and warm.

Came for the Fforest coaster with my husband and three year old son. We all loved it, our son was shouting to go faster! Big thanks to the two guys Jack and Steve. We also enjoyed the pine run, you can purchase one ball for 2.50 or two balls for 4. Which is a lovely souvenir. Definitely returning for the swing! And telling family and friends to try out the coaster.

We specifically visited this location to experience the Fforest Coaster, and it proved to be a worthwhile investment. For a mere £25, you will receive three coaster rides. The initial ride serves as an orientation, while the second and third rides offer the opportunity to request an action camera to capture your reactions. Additionally, you have the option to take multiple rides.

Absolutely epic experience. We only did the fforest coasters at this site but it was brilliant. Family of 4, for less than £100 and it was 100% worth it. Videos of each descent are around £8. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. My only criticism was that we were told to get there 30 mins early… however that was pointless as we were then waiting in a queue for 30 mins. People for our time slot turned up at the exact time and were right behind us but that didn’t take anything away from the experience.

We had a week in Wales with the main intention of doing all the various Zipworld activities. We ended up spending more with them than we did on our cottage for the week! It's expensive but worth it for the unique experiences they offer. Our third and final visit was to the FForest Coaster at Betws-y-Coed. We had only pre-booked the coaster but also did the swing, plummet (twice) and had a second set of goes on the coaster. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed it. The activities were great fun and the staff were all extremely friendly. My daughter initially did plummet by herself and then persuaded me to do a tandem jump with her. I thought the big swing might make me sick (the only ride at theme parks I dislike is the pirate ship) but it turns out the g-force is to intense to think about your stomach at all! The coaster was definitely the main event and we're already looking where we might be able to do another when we visit Canada this summer. After doing the first couple of runs with no brakes (to prove how tough I was), I actually discovered the braking gently just before the corners actually increases the intensity and prevents the auto-braking from kicking in. We also had lunch in the snack-bar and a coffee in the cafe at the bottom. A great day out finished with a lovely walk around Betws-y-Coed afterwards.

Really enjoyed it here. I went on the tree net thing & the coaster. Coaster was my favourite & the staff were so polite & informative. The price was a bit on the high side but it was an experience.

Family experienced the Fforest Coaster (I held the bags) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were great, especially those in the reception and check-in who couldn’t have done more. It all still runs except for the in the worst weather so even though it was a bit rainy it’s something amazing to do. Make sure you grab at least one video of your experience. It’s worth it.

Been on my visit list for many years...eventually got there. Being a photographer i was hoping for those dream conditions but unfortunately the weather was overcast...there was still ice about from the cold snap so i wore my crampons. Stunning location and i had it all to myself...spent an hour and half down there. It didn't disappoint 🙏

Came here first after landing in Manchester. Yes, it's a bit of a drive, but pleasant. We were still a bit frazzled and tired when we arrived. The walk was absolutely beautiful. The river spot at the end felt magical. So worth it. By the time we walked out we were relaxed and content. Perfect start to our vacation. It does have some grade, steep stairs, and can get slick in the rain so good shoes are a must. Moderate hike.

Such a beautiful place. Really must see! Run by a lovely lady who came to welcome us and talk about farm and absolutely stunning sheeps- what a treat, so thank you for that. The entrance is as little as a pound, and pound for a car park, such a bargain for what you get. A waterfall is on a steep side, so watch where you put your feet- but you are in the mountains so what to expect! There is a very well kept path leading to more rocky side of the river and fairy waterfall itself, so if you feel brave, walk to see the magnificent world of fairies, magical!

Magical hidden gem in North Wales. The riverside walk is nice and the views are spectacular. It is £1 parking and per head which is well worth the money. Climbing on to the rocks is a good battle so make sure you wear the right shoes. One of the best places to visit in the UK, would definitely recommend.

The Fairy Glen was a lovely hike! Parts of it are slippery and steep, especially if you go all the way to the end. But we went with my mother in law who is in her 70's, and most of the hike was fine for her; she sat on one of the many benches at a lookout point and waited for us at the steepest part. The paths are all well kept up and there are lots of places to stop and look at the view or take a break, and several benches along the way to sit on if you need to. The Glen itself was absolutely stunning! Great for families.

£1pp entry and a short, picturesque stroll along scenic fields takes you to the edge of Fairy Glen. A steep scramble down stone steps and rocks and you're in fairy glen itself. We took a picnic which we shared with a young, inquisitive Robin and took a moment to just relax and unwind to the sound of running water and the wind in the trees. A lovely little oasis. Might not be the best for those unsteady on their feet or unable to manage steep uphill/downhill inclines on rock and uneven steps. But for those who can manage it it's worth the walk.

Beautiful place! Worth the small hike there for sure! It is in private land so you will have to pay the nice lady 1 pound for parking and 1 pound pr person walking to the Glen. She came outside when we were parking. Watch your steps if it is raining or wet. There are a lot of opportunities for slipping on the rocks near and in the Glen.

This is a very special place and area. A beautiful, peaceful walk by the river. Once you get to the stone, steps to go down towards the river can be slippery. However if you're careful all should be well. It's incredibly silent even though the running water is noisy. Excelent place to reflect on nature and life itself. Something to point out here is that you will need to pay £1 per head and £1 for your car. Fantastic place to visit. It doesn't get too touristy either.

Wow. This is one of the most prettiest places in North Wales. Two very interesting walks. Fairy Glen walk is a bit harder but you cling down the rocks to the river and it is magical. The Riverside walk is an easier walk and so beautiful. The beautiful sheep on the field were friendly and came up to say hello when you walked the path. Saw a lot of birds and squirrels. Will definitely be back for another stroll.

Nice place, worth visiting. Easy walk except for the last few yards to reach the river where the stairs can be slippery. Entrance is pretty cheap.

Stunning location for a stroll. There is a small car park nearby for which you pay £1 in the local honesty box, together with £1 entry per person (although I believe that there is someone waiting to take payment during busy periods). You can also take a short walk here from Betws-Y-Coed or from Conwy Falls just down the road which is also worth a visit if you're in the area.

Lovely wooded walk but not suitable for everyone as the paths are steep and uneven. However, there are handrails all the way around which makes it easier. The falls are often obscured by the trees and seem quite far away. I managed to go down and get some good views, but some people like the disabled and elderly may not. There's plenty of waterfalls you can see for free on the mountainsides, but you may want to pay a small fee and say you've been there and done Conwy Falls.

Nice cafe and short ~20min loop round the rapids and a brilliant waterfall. Entry was £2. We spent about an hour there taking in the scenery.

A wonderful place to visit. Getting down to a good vantage point to see the falls on this rainy day was muddy underfoot so good footwear advised. When you eventually see it, your going to need more than a minute. Beauty, powerful, energetic and invigorating are words that immediately came to mind. If your in the area or not it's worth seeing.

Car parking available at the cafe. No more honesty box - now it's an electronically controlled swing gate, GBP2 per entry (I guess most people weren't honest!). Takes cashless and cash, but swindled me out of GBP2 cash without entry, so be warned! Steep natural (read: muddy) path that leads steadily downwards - safest with good shoes and reasonably good mobility. The more you descend, the more beautiful the surrounding forest and the louder the rush of water. Here on a rainy autumn day, and the water was in full spate. Circular path leads back up to return to the car park (another steep climb). Lovely viewpoints for townies who don't want long hikes.

The water fall is impressive and a nice walk to it. It is not a big walk but it is steep and tricky in places which could be difficult for some. There is a turnstile to enter at a cost of £2 per person, which for a family is a bit pricey for a short walk, especially when there are lots of beautiful places around to visit for free.

A great short circular walk. Recent heavy rain made the water quite spectacular. Didn't like the long wire running from the viewpoint up to a cliff above the falls. Didn't see the point other than to ruin the photos

Beautiful place. But for people walking difficulties, i wouldn't recommend it. The foot paths are very steep. Steps there are loads of steep steps they are natural rocks, so be careful!

Lovely waterfalls, there's a bit of a downside that you have to pay £2 for entry to see a natural sight. We went up the road and parked up on a lay be that had a sign to go down to the river for free. But if you park at the cafe you can go down a proper path which is where you pay to see the waterfall.

A beautiful spot, easy access. Short walk to the waterfall from the car park but a step path. Nice to be able to stop at the cafe on the return journey.

This is a small museum with a few rail set ups. It is only £2 per adult but sadly, most of the set ups did not work when the buttons were pressed to activate them. If the set ups ran as stated it would be well worth a visit.

Really cute miniature steam railway for £2.50pp. Great for a grandparent and child to ride together - only 8 mimutes long and smiles gauranteed. But... What is with all the negative signage???

Great outdoor mini rail line, the museum however was a different story. We were greeted by a very miserable lady who seemed solely focused on taking money and lacked some basic customer service skills. Half of the exhibits didn’t work which was a shame as our little boy wanted to see all the trains moving.

Been here a few times over the past 35 years. Sadly looking a little run down nowadays, most of the layouts in the museum are not working, the miniature railway is still great fun though and well worth the fare. I believe the place is for sale, I think with a little love and lots of paint it could be a great attraction again.

Was really lovely to support a clearly old and traditional business. The journey on the small train was the best and was a lovely experience. It was nice to walk around the museum but a lot of the railways or moving parts didn’t work anymore which was a shame. Just needed a bit of love and care and would become a great attraction.

A real shame. I used to love it here as a child however, it looks as though nothing has been touched since 20 years ago! Museum is poor now as nothing works! The miniature railway is still good but there rarely seems to be steam engines running anymore. Needs some investment as this could become brilliant again with not much effort!

Really good dioramas made by one man showing different aspects of the railways. A lot of artifacts from all the railways, showing interesting information if you read the exhibits. A very fine model of 70000, possibly the best I have seen to date, I hope it is steamed again. A very nice little museum.

Decent place to stop and kill some time especially if you have young children. Definitely one for a young train 🚂 enthusiast. There is a small train cart that they can self operate down the track for a quid 💷. The £2 ride on the mini train is worth it. The ride lasted around 6/8 minutes following the full length of the track.

Visited in August 2019 on my Wales holiday. I spent a day in Betws-y-Coed and walked around to see as much as I can. The model shop or museum is next to the railway station, the entry ticket is a lovely old style paper ticket to let us behind the shop. It is very small, but definitely interesting and full with old models, built up whole villages and many of them is interactive with different buttons to push. Not just models but everything related to old fashioned railways and travels are pretty much can be found here, so it is a nostalgia journey. That time only me and a male visitor were in the room, but we both enjoyed to play around. There are toilets on site, and in the shop we can buy gifts. Cafe is in the station, parking is on the street, or one of the main car parks in the village.

An interesting place to visit more suited to people who are into model railways and children. You can go on a mini train which is a separate cost to going round the museum. The cost todo both is only about 5 pounds so not a great amount.

Took the Craig Forys trail. Fairly strenuous, pretty steep on the way up from the beginning, but a fairly easy walk back. Nice trail that passes several trickling streams that run down the hillside, and has a spectacular view halfway through. Got some incredible views of the tornado jets passing through from the RAF valley. Bit short though, we're in our early twenties and average fitness; we completed it in just under an hour.

We did the red walk from the car park in Betws-y-Coed. Perfect length and difficulty for my 3 year old daughter. Lovely little walk along the boardwalk next to the river and a little bit around the forest. My daughter loved the information points and was always very excited to see the next one We also had a little picnic on the benches at the start of the walk and a little paddle in the river There are other walks of varying lengths and difficulty

Mostly off lead trails with some sheep paddocks that you have to pop your dogs on a lead in but you see the signs and it's a few mins before you're back to off lead again. I've got high prey drive dogs that can't be off lead with livestock and were comfortably off lead most of the time! Gorgeous surroundings and great cafes when you get back to Betws-y-Coed

Llyn Crafnant is a family favourite, a great walk around the lake with beautiful views. Great car park which is free with a picnic area and toilet facilities too.

Went for a small walk up the Watkin Path last weekend, and it did not disappoint! The weather could have been better, but you can't have everything haha The views are amazing and the waterfalls even better. The waters crystal clear and looks so fresh, freezing cold but fresh. I would recommend going for a look if you're in thevarea.

Gwydir Forest is a sprawling forest spread out over 10 visitor sites throughout Snowdonia. Sites vary from being tailored for mountain bikers or walkers (or a mixture) and some have free parking while others charge. However whichever site you go to, you're never far from mountains, lakes, waterfalls and stunning views. There are short, accessible walks available and also challenging routes (the Llyn Parc trail is the hardest one I've done so far). The info on the official website is spot on, detailing which walks have stiles or not and with notes about the sort of terrain to expect. Photos here are from a mixture of the sites we've been to (Betws-y-Coed, Llyn Crafnant and Cae’n y Coed).

I enjoyed hiking in this splendid place, did not even fell the more or less 16 miles I did. The hiking paths are enjoyable and easy to recognize. If you go there on weekdays or in low seasons you mays walk long miles before you come across any hikers and sometimes you won't see any unless you get to spots that tourist can reach driving!

Great place for walking. Lots of footpaths, with waymarked routes. Scenery is beautiful. Lots of free car parks.

We passed through here with 90 Dirty Adventures Land Rover Driving Experience during a Welsh mountain tour. This is simply a lovely area to visit. We didn't know these places existed until we did this experience. Well worth a visit.

Old church nice scenic around the church

Picturesque & ancient old church, beautiful surroundings and key is available over the road at the Railway Museum.

St Michael's Old Church is the oldest building in Betws y Coed. The church was built in the 14th century on the banks of the River Conwy. It is thought to have replaced an older medieval prayer house, betws in Welsh. The church contains a collection of fine medieval features. A life-size stone effigy of Gruffydd ap Dafydd Goch lies near the chancel. A relative of Prince of Wales Llewelyn ap Gruffydd, Gruffydd ap Dafydd Goch died in battle between 1370 and 1380. Fragments of medieval stained glass can be found at the top of the east and west windows. The medieval font is small and square, featuring a simple carving of leaves and an arch of chevrons. A restoration took place in 1843 when the north aisle was added but Betws y Coed soon outgrew St Michael's with the arrival of the London-Holyhead road and the railway. In 1873, St Mary's Church opened and St Michael's was left to decay. A significant restoration took place in 1994 to save the building. It was declared redundant in the year 2000.

Lovely little hall nice to find a great bargain. Don't be afraid to do a little haggle but don't be too cheeky! Got some great finds from here.

Stopped off for a little nosey when visiting this beautiful little village. The architecture is incredible, both external and internal. Wonderful stain glass. A truly wonderful building.

Attended a choir concert. The choir and the setting in the church were superb.

This is a cool historic church with the Victorian pew boxes still intact. They also have exhibits about the history of the area. The church itself is more than 600 years old and worth a visit. You need to get the key from the town shop.

Beautiful church. Has a wonderful garden.with plans in progress for a disabled access to church and a new sensory garden. Teas,Coffees and wonderful cakes including gluten free available every Tuesday through the summer

Nice railway station !

Station looks brilliant and was straightforward getting a train from here, but the trains themselves aren't very frequent. Other than that, this is a very useful station for those wishing to climb Snowdon, visit waterfall etc.

I was confused about the posts on this as it’s for the train station and not the town. This is one of the nicest stations I’ve been to, and is lovingly cared for, great to see. You can catch network trains and steam train a from here, just check online. The station also has an unusual art collection made up of recycled debris’s found on beach shores and Rhino full of bottle caps! The station surrounds has coffee shops, pizza joints, an outdoor shop and large paid car park. The information centre is very close by as is the centre of town. This is a lovely town and worth a visit.

Nice place to visit. Always crowded so get there early. Like most such touristy places it's unfortunately overrun by Hiking Gear shops.

I was afraid of the crowds after reading other reviews saying it is “touristy”. It is touristy, but I didn’t find it overly crowded. I happened to be one of those people who needed walking poles (recently suggested to me by my physiotherapist and I didn’t have time to buy them before my vacation), so I didn’t mind the hiking gear stores. Once we set out on a trail, after the first few meters, there were not a lot of people at all. Unfortunately, the train schedule is such that we didn’t have enough time for a longer walk, and then our train was canceled. At that point, we opted to take a bus, which turned out to be a very scenic ride. It’s a lovely area and we are happy we came.

Not only is it a practical & working station it’s also an old school example of a beautiful antiquated railway line/station & as such it always photographs beautifully.

Lovely little village full with spirit and great places to see. Nice shops and surrounding areas. A great place to start some beautiful walks in Snowdonia. Great.

Absolutely loved betws-y-coed lovely place from swallow falls at the top to fairy Glen at the bottom would be a hikers paradise just wish I could have spent more time exploring here.

Great walk up to a real hidden peace of beauty on the edge of the biggest mountains of Snowdonia. Not easy by any means and depending from where you start, is not very sign posted. (We started on the Fordd Craiglan path) but is not too difficult to find if you have your phone. Took a little over 45 minutes and that way can re somewhat steep. Walk around is also 45 minutes at a slow pace with a decent path (not paved).

Lovely walk up to the lake and around. It is steep going up, but rest places and humourus signs on the way.

Never before have I encountered a more secluded and challenging lake to visit by car than Llyn Elsi. We first began our journey on foot - a 1.3 mile journey that should have taken approximately 41 minutes. However part way into the journey, up what felt like an almost vertical incline, we realised that we were out of our depth and turned back to make the journey by car instead. Looking on Google Maps, the journey seemed pretty straight forward. Little did we know that we would be met with private roads, dead ends, and a road path seemingly taken from an advanced off-road course. In all seriousness, had we been driving anything less capable than an SUV/MPV, we would have most certainly struggled to complete the trip to the summit. I’m a little disappointed to say, that reaching the top was quite anti-climatic considering the effort made. Seeing past the dull, dreary weather that we had been cursed with, still we couldn’t fathom what all of the fuss was about. On the plus side, for those that prefer solitary locations, somewhere to think, or not even think at all, Llyn Elsi is the epitome of that. There wasn’t a soul in sight. We had the whole lake to ourselves. If being somewhere on your own is your preference (and you’re prepared for the journey), then Llyn Elsi is the place for you. If you desire something more than this, then sadly I would suggest that you may want to consider another location.

If you're after some piece and quiet away from the crowds a summers day can bring to snowdonia then look no further. Llyn Elsi is a beautiful lake above the town of Bets y Coed. Its a short but very steep walk up to the top. A path runs around the lake with plenty of spots to stop for a picnic and take in the views of snowdonia. If you love quiet spots with amazing views then please visit Llyn Elsi.

A steep start to the walk from Betws y Coed up to Llyn Elsi. It’s then a fairly easy walk around the lake with some good views across to the mountains of Snowdonia.

Cool bridge, needs repairing at the moment. Be careful of loose timbers under foot if you pass the warning blockages. 5 stars for construction . Given 3 stars due to government not keeping it upto scratch. Worth a visit also nice village here and great pizza just past railway museum and over rail track from here ;)

At the end of the day it’s a bridge, but having said that it always makes for a striking photograph and is very photogenic as bridges go. Interesting aesthetics and definitely worth a look.

Fun bridge to take kids on. Great view of the church as well as the river. If you are in the village of Betws-y-Coed you definitely need to have a look at it.

It's pretty difficult to rate a bridge but it serves its purpose well, is somewhere I like to visit on every trip to Betws and is always an interesting conversation piece when you look at the photos. A very nice to photograph and often people are playing in the water below. It brings a nice atmosphere.

There is a wide range of crafts, jewellery and boutique clothing on the ground floor at the Galeri Betws Y Coed. On the first floor there is a regularly changing selection of good paintings, prints and drawings. We were looking for a rug but they hadn't the size and colour we wanted in the gallery. The helpful and knowledgeable staff went to a lot of trouble to contact the maker and organise one to be made for us. If you are in the area do pop in and look around.

Capel Garmon Burial Chamber is a well-preserved Neolithic chambered tomb. This style of tomb is known as Cotswolds-Severn so its location in North Wales is a mystery. The site consists of three burial chambers, of which only the West one retains its large capstone. This end has been turned into the entrance when it was used as a stable for horses in the 19th century. The whole chamber would have been topped with large capstones and then covered with an earth and stone cairn. The extend of the cairn has been marked by an outline of stones. Small parking area on road, about enough for a single car. Access on foot only. Great views of Snowdonia.

Very interesting. We walked to yhe chamber in the evening and there was a farm dog stalking us so just be careful.

Excellent, well worth the easy and well waymarked walk. Just don't expect to be able to leave your horse there, as it is frowned upon these days.

Beautiful Neolithic burial ground especially on a sunny day when the chamber is bathed in light. The presence of the ancestors is still strong there. Wonderful views, and the place has been kept very tidy with no littering by visitors when we went. We'll worth visiting.

Utterly, utterly amazing. Why did it take me so long to get around to visiting this place? Surrounded by beautiful countryside and passed by footpaths, so you can ramble on, finding Narnia-like footpath signs on the middle of fields. There's access to the tomb from the road along a track past the farm and then across the fields. There's a small amount of parking on the roadside. The place itself is awe inspiring and beautiful. A Victorian farmer once used it as a stable, but it's not terribly damaged. Go and see it.

A superb example of a neolithic burial chamber. Set in stunning scenery near Capel Garmon in the hills above Betws Y Coed. There is a small layby for parking, then a walk down a track and across a farmer's field to the burial mound, all well signposted. The western chamber had an impressive cap stone. The eastern chamber has no cap stone and is exposed to the elements. It looks like some restoration had taken place at some point in the past. Well worth a visit!

Visiting Capel Garmon Burial Chamber was a pleasure thanks to the fact that you're able and invited to get up close, and yet it's still really well taken care of.

This @5500 year old burial chamber is situated in a splendid location overlooking Moel Siabod near Betws-y-coed in North Wales. The panoramic view here can be quite stunning. It's build style is what sets it's out and makes it noteworthy as it copies the style of burial chambers situated in and around the Severn Valley which obviously suggests some link with the region. The monument is stable and in quite good condition but the main entrance to the tomb is not a real entrance and was once filled by support stones. This was until a Victorian farmer removed them to use this chamber as a stable for his horses. It is still a splendid ancient structure to explore and appreciate regardless. I parked in a signposted (small sign) layby in front of the gate to the farm and walked down to the monument via two metal kissing gates which lead to sheep filled fields and the metal fence circled monument beyond. Please be aware that their may be dogs loose before reaching the first kissing gate which are working dogs evidently as they refused to let me and my Wife pass on our return up the path. Their owner called them back though and they obeyed immediately as well trained working dogs should. If you have a dog with you I would make sure dogs are not out before passing the first house after the main entrance gate off the layby. There is no cost to park or view the monument.

Lovely spot to visit fantastic views.

Very lovely place, right in the village center. You can climb the rocks or take one of the lively walks around, the short one is great for kids with some info games. It is a popular spot for picnic or even to go and enjoy the water fir kids, dogs etc so to have it for yourself better come early or late.

Easy to miss if your not looking for it as it's just off the main street. Carpark available. The bridge and river are beautiful, picnic benches near by,unfortunately the weather was not on my side so didn't venture far. Definitely worth a quick rest stop to have a look at the area and views

It was breathtakingly beautiful. The water was so clear and refreshing and the scenery around was amazing. Me, the hubby and the kids absolutely loved it. We are planning to go again soon. There was a nature stroll next to the waterfall and for a long or short distance. We took the short distance as we had to rush back home for kids school the next day. One downside was way too many dogs there 😂 however people were so nice and friendly. A trip to remember definitely 💯

Superb! I really loved the view and the bridge! Bear in mind it is not just for pedestrians 🚶 also around lots of places for food and stores. So Have some time to spend there :) we spend 2,5 hours :)

Really picturesque bridge. On the day we visited, the area was swamped with people. But it was a Sunday in May half term so probably expected.

HI, a wonderful, almost fairy-tale small town, in a beautiful forested land, very friendly to tourists. There is a wonderful mountain waterfall right next to the bridge in the central part of the town. There are 4 more hiking trails hidden in the beautiful forest. 4 hiking trails of various lengths and difficulty levels. from 1.2Km to 12Km long..;)) Great very crisp air, I recommend this place. A nice bridge and river to visit during your trip or stay in the area. Walking distance from the car park in Betws-y-Coed. It is a road bridge so be aware of traffic and other road users when you stand on the bridge. There is a small car park near by and pleasant walks through the woods along the river. The red route is a short walk and worth the 30 mins it takes to walk.

Beautiful little village with scenic views. Good facilities, with plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants to explore. Plenty of places to stay the night in the area and good transport access with ample parking, train station and good bus routes. Take care when climbing the rocks when taking photos of the bridge as they can be slippery when wet.

Absolutely breathtaking views such a stunning village and surrounding area. Lots of outdoor wear shops, local shops fish and chips shop on corner of bridge amazing with a little outdoor sitting area on top of waterfall. A must place to visit.

This place should be the 8th wonder of the world! A beautiful place..definitely a sight to behold. A must see for any tourists visiting North wales. We also saw an otter in the water while we was there. Can't wait to go back!

It's cute but wouldn't go again. Nothing special and overcrowded. Short walk in the woods as well, on a pushchair friendly path. Paying toilet on the carpark. 10min walk from the train station. Can be a stop on a way somewhere but don't expect to spend a day there. Lots of shops and restaurants around.

Lots of childhood memories here. Lovely place to wonder around and have some fish and chips by the side of the river too. Lovely place for a little paddle too

This place is beautiful. It seems from a fairy tale. The bridge, the village around with the river it's a living post card. From here there are different path for trekking lovers, families as well can enjoy some good walks.

Lively spot. There are toilets but they cost 50p. I honestly didn't mind paying as they loos were very clean and pleasant. The falls were very peaceful and relaxing after the crowds in the main area of Betws-y-Coed

Amazing old town this Betws-y-coed. Plenty to explore, see and shop.. This bridge, though short, is a very picturesque one - from the huge boulders below, its rapids and to the still waters on the other side of the bridge. Very peaceful and calming just staring at it. :)

The Pont y Pair bridge is a historical bridge located in Betws-y-Coed, a village in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. It is a must see attraction if you're in the area but be mindful it can get very busy in the summer. Parking is available either on the street or in the close by car parks for a fee. Some nice shops for gifts and for food. History: Built around 1500, it was originally a narrow bridge for packhorses. It was widened in the 19th century to accommodate stagecoaches. Landmark: The bridge is a popular tourist attraction known for its beauty and the surrounding waterfalls on the River Llugwy. Function: It's still a functioning bridge for cars. Significance: The bridge played a crucial role in the early 1800s when coaches were diverted here after a ferry accident.

A historic stone bridge in the village of Betws-y-Coed that spans the River Llugwy and is known for its elegant arches and picturesque views. We have been here several times but this time was the first time in the sun! People were jumping off the bridge into the river and swimming (much against the sign which said there was a fine for doing so!!) We spent a good hour watching. We also did a short walk along the river which was beautiful in the sunshine.

It was a great walk along the river, up one side, over the bridge and back after crossing again upstream. The bridge makes some great photos of the weather is nice. Beautiful area, cafes in the town, toilets, etc. We loved our walk and then coffee and lunch in the park.

Currently closed. Alison Bradley's paintings are wonderful, but she's no longer in Betws-y-coed - she's moved to a lovely gallery in Chester. However, the Betws-y-coed gallery is opening again in October 2019 under new management.

Fantastic art work. Very easy to spend money here.

A unique place. Certainly like nothing else. Maybe a bit lost on such an idilic village. Also some better signage pointing you onto the platform to begin with would be better. I liked the orangutan statue the best. Lots of merch to buy but not sure why you would. Well at least it's keeping the local art student employed.

Cool gallery including exhibits on the train platform. Free entry. Some items are a little confronting as they address current issues. Might not be suitable for children.
