La chiesa conserva all’interno molti reperti classici e medievali. Interessanti sono le due epigrafimurate sulle pareti: una, collocata sopra la porta maggiore, ricorda l’intervento di restauro voluto dall’arcivescovo Alessandro Borgia nel 1743; l’altra, sul pilastro di fronte alla porta laterale, ricorda il restauro del tempio dedicato alla Dea Cupra, decretato dall’imperatore Adriano, nel 127 d.C. L’importanza di questa epigrafe è attestata dal fatto che la rimozione dall’edificio di tutte le lapidi profane, voluta dal vescovo Poggi nel 1614, non comprese la lapide adrianea.
