This place is stunning. We booked for three guests in the suite with ocean view. It was gorgeous! The sofa bed wasn’t the most comfortable night sleep but ok for one night. We had complimentary drinks at the bar. They serve light snacks too and have lots of board games. We were lucky to see the northern lights. I’ll recommend everyone to stay here!!! Beautiful.

This room was the largest we stayed in in Iceland. Loved the large patio and the fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and fridge with freezer. The bed was comfortable and the shower was beautiful. A very comfortable stay overall. The rooms are quite a distance from the black sand beach. This was the most expensive night of our time in Iceland, and while the room was beautiful, I'm not quite sure that the value matched the price. I'll probably stay elsewhere next time I'm in Vik.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, below is the view from our suite at sunset in August. Only problem with this place is you cannot get decent food there, but you can always cook in your room or drive to Vik for a meal.

We stayed in a suite, lovely and warm and well appointed. Big and spacious with tall ceilings. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided in bathroom. Lovely little balcony to take breakfast or a drink, or just relax and enjoy the stunning views. Food available from the main hostel. Highly recommend.

My only concern is that by giving this place an honest review more of you will book this place and then I won't be able to stay here again on my next visit to Iceland. It has heated floors, incredibly comfortable beds, very hospitable staff, incredibly clean restrooms and showers, and a very well stocked kitchen. Absolutely loved our stay here! The rooms are spacious and very modern and clean. The location is unbeatable with gorgeous views. We even got to see the northern lights right from our balcony!!! It’s also a short drive from Vik which is important for food, gas, and shopping.

This place was absolutely amazing. So glad we stayed here! They even upgraded our room and gave us wine and chocolates because it was my birthday and our honeymoon. The premium room was absolutely unreal. Staff lovely. Make the trip to Vestmennaejar if you stay here (summer or winter). A must stay if you’re in the south.

Literally my favorite hotel ever. This had the most beautiful hotel I have been to. The rooms are stunning and sleek and modern. The view is spectacular as well, and is worth the price.

The stay itself at black beach suits was exceptional. The room and location were amazing. The one bad thing was the food at the bar. We ordered chicken wings and they came completely burnt. When we asked, the response is that they heat it up to a certain temperature for 14 mins and they are not responsible for how it comes out. That is ridiculous.

Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay in a great location. If it had been a clear night I feel confident we could’ve seen the Northern Lights! Only complaint is that our bathroom smelled SO strongly of mildew and nothing in that part of the apartment dried (i.e. wet rain jackets and boots). The window was open the whole time and we left the fan on so we’re not sure what happened, but it took the place from a 5 to a 4!

Highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the south of Iceland. Check in was quick and seamless, no wait whatsoever. There’s also a friendly sheepdog on the property as well which was a pleasant surprise. If you don’t like dogs—don’t worry he keeps to himself. The room was clean and large. Really enjoyed the setup of the suite. We slept with the door open and it felt completely safe. The view was gorgeous and it was so quiet and relaxing. You could literally hear the pin drop. The location is perfect! Right off the main road and a quick drive to the black beach. Will definitely stay here again if I ever return to Iceland!

I’m not going to lie, breathtaking experience here. Stayed in Jan 2023 and could not have been more happy with my stay. 5/5 on everything and more. Rooms were spacious, clean, and modern. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The surrounding nature is unreal. One of the coolest accommodations I’ve stayed at. If you get lucky, you might even see the Northern Lights! Roads can get icy and packed with snow during the winter so be careful. They do the best job they can to clear, but it can still be hard to drive. Stay cautious if weather is expected to be bad.

Really cute mini apartment with really large bathroom, cute kitchen and balcony! The only negative thing I have to say is that we had to sleep in separate beds. The apartment has a really nice foyer where you can leave jackets and dirty shoes.

The property is gorgeous and has a beautiful setting. However our 5 stars are due to the fact that this crew was calm, super helpful and supportive right throughout a storm that had us stranded with roads closed. Thomas deserves a special mention for being simply incredible.

Great view and an amazing beach nearby. The suite itself was probably the best accommodation I have ever stayed in as it had a dedicated entrance hall- this made it feel very special.

Stayed April 2023. Great place away from the crowds in Vik but just close enough. Great, clean accommodations, big bathroom, easy to clean use well appointed kitchen. Strong hot water and room heating (actually had to leave window open all night). Suggestions? More hangers and places to hang wet items, as many guests visit glaciers and can get quite rainy up top. Otherwise, awesome.

Very good location - you can drive 5 min to black beach and 8 min to Vik where restaurants and bars. Great room with fantastic views and very comfortable. It was cold when we arrived but we found heating in room and it was warm very quickly. Very well equipped kitchen. There was 2 twin beds, we joined them for sleep. You can drive by your room, which is very convenient.

My partner and I's stay at the Black Beach Suites was one of our highlights while vacationing around Iceland. It's been our second time visiting this property, and both times have been exceptional! The suites are modern, beautifully designed (especially the superior studio), spacious, clean, comfortable, and nicely equipped with amenities. The views of the Reynisfjara beach and the landscape of the mountains from the suites are also serene and spectacular. We will definitely be looking forward to our next visit!

We stayed here for 1 night during our ring road and it was amazing. Super clean and spacious and modern and it's probably the best room we've had during our iceland trip. I'd highly recommend this place 👌

Great space - would highly recommend. We only stayed here one night but it had great amenities, lovely bathroom, nice studio space and a great view. The service was fine but quite hands off (not a negative but not notably good). The room was pretty clean, had coffee machine and fridge. No oven but a hob. About a 5/10 min drive to the black beach and a supermarket 5/10 mins away the other direction.

Spacious rooms, heated floors and fully equipped kitchenette. But more importantly, the location offers absolutely spectacular views and great privacy. Good place to view northern lights.

Really loved our suite. Spectacular view with everything you need. It’s so quiet and relaxing. Five minutes drive to Black Sand Beach, and ten minutes to Vik where you can find restaurants and stores.

Absolute perfection. Heated floors, comfortable beds, plenty of space, a well appointed kitchen - and the VIEW!! When I come back to Iceland, I will definitely be staying here again. It was our favorite stay of our trip.

Amazing place. We got a free upgrade so I cannot comment on the originally booked “studio apartment with sea view” and we got their newest room. It was spacious, simple yet stylish and well maintained (it was new). The view in the field and far away coast was great and the bathroom was amazing, just the water from the shower would splash all over the place as there are no curtains and no divider. Staff was friendly and location was right in the way to the black beach. I would’ve stayed longer but there’s not a lot in the area except for the beach ;)

Way too expensive for what they offer… looks nice in the photos but you expect much more quality for this price tag! Room could be cleaner, Hot water doesn’t work all the time and most of the rooms point towards some empty field instead of the beach…

The suite was excellent and perfect for a couple. Loved the vaulted ceilings but it did mean the place was very warm and we good not find the AC. The back patio provided the perfect space to see the northern lights.

Beautiful place, we got a bit unlucky with the weather but it was totally worth it. Saw tons of seabirds, a fox, and quite a lot of puffins ( though most were out at sea). We saw puffins at both the east and west side of the peninsula but there were definitely more close to the lighthouse. There are restrooms (for a fee, payable by card, very clean) at the eastern side parking lot

Really crowded mid day so go early or later. Good view over the black sand beaches as well. Steep paved road up. Dead end road out to it. Not jaw dropping but worth a stop if your driving the Ring Road.

Beautiful area of Iceland on the South Coast. Fantastic views on a clear day of the mountains and Glaciers and the famous black sand beach.

Spectacular viewing points from top of the cliff. Black beaches as far as the eye can see as well as natural arches in the cliffs. Quite a lot of poffins in the area as well in late April. The hill is accessible by car which makes it a nice stop for some beautiful views.

The view is wonderful and so peaceful. We were speechless by the landscapes, the sounds of the waves. You can do a small hike about 30/45mn by checking all the view points. One of the best white landscapes I saw in my life

Beautiful cliff near the Black Sand Beach with puffins and a light house and free parking, but few spots. You can get very close to puffins to take pictures and even closer if they land near. Aside from puffins you can take very scenic pictures of the beach, moutains and other cliffs. Overall, would recommend!

Beautiful spot to get some great photo shots of the black sand beaches and the lighthouse. Not advised to go down on the beach because of the sneaker waves. A must stop in southern Iceland!

Absolutely beautiful place that totally blew our minds! The panoramic view is outstanding and it's an amazing spot to really feel Iceland's powerfull nature.

Imposing cliffs rising out of the sea create an unforgettable vista. The surrounding area is covered in lush vegetation. It's also a great spot to glimpse puffins.

The most significant place in Iceland. In winter, you could see the most beautiful sunset in the earth. In summer, you could find a lot puffins here.

Dyrholaey is a huge cliff that looks over the south beach of Iceland. The cliff provides wonderful views of the north sea, the rocks and the cliffs and the black sand beaches around. On top of the cliff there is a lighthouse that can be seen miles away. Part of the cliff is wheelchair accessible and there is a fee WC.

Incredibly beautiful, we visited while it was raining and windy and the area gave an incredibly moody vibe. The cliffs are beautiful, we didn’t see any puffins in September but still worth the visit.

We are so glad that we made a stop at Dyrhólaey for almost two hours, just to enjoy the breath taking views of the snow capped mountains or the Atlantic Ocean. The chilly wind could be strong but watching the flying birds or the thundering waves are so amazingly beautiful.

Peaceful area to observe the water but you also get a sense of how powerful nature is. It’s cool to be so high up that you’re watching birds fly below you.

Winter visit, so lighthouse closed. Beautiful view of the black beach and Dyrhólaey. Car parking available with well maintained toilets. Excellent views. Access to beach only when not dangerous to do so.

Pictures don't do it justice! It was snowing and cold the day we went to see it but it was worth it. Incredible to see and the birds covering the cliffs and fun to watch

Really cool spot! I recommend checking it out. The trail is relatively easy and provides a 360 view of the coastline. Definitely bundle up if you are coming during the winter months as it can get very cold and windy.

If you came to Iceland to meet the puffins - look no further, this is the place! The close ups one manages here are NOT available with any boat tour that are populating the harbour side. Unique experience. Breathtaking nature sceneries as an add-on. Easily reachable with a car from Reykjavik. All free of charge.

If you want to visit somewhere that makes you audibly gasp at the view then this is it. Huge thanks to my tour guide group, Nice Travel Iceland for bringing me to this spot, it was one of the highlights of my entire trip to Iceland.

High waves, black sand, beautiful rock formations! Add all of this up and you have this amazing beach! I visited in the winter and saw almost no sand due to the snow but that didn’t let me down! Be REALLY careful of the waves and pay attention to the board at the entrance of the beach to learn about all the dangers! There’s an huge parking spot and a restaurant nearby for every need!

Amazing views, if you haven't ever seen black sand before, that's your place to go. It's quite close to the town of Vik. Be careful of the waves though, they can be aggressive, so don't get too close.

Spectacular and unique black beach. We were lucky enough to see some puffins. Very important to keep in mind the sneaky waves.

Lovely place to visit but must wrap up warm as the winds are strong on the coast and avoid getting too close because there's some sudden waves that can pull you in if not careful. Besides this a gorgeous stop and rather peaceful if you walk along the black sands away from the crowd- felt like walking on air. There's also huge basalt colums that have formed over hundreds of years that make quite a sight to see.

This is one of the most iconic spots in Iceland so I'd say it's a must see! It does get very crowded so I'd recommend coming really early in the morning or later in the evening for a chance to have a more private experience. Even when there are lots of people, it seemed like most of them would get their photos with the basalt columns and then leave or walk further down the beach, so if you're patient, you can get good photos either way. The waves here are really dangerous so you should be very careful of the tide if you walk along the beach, but it really is such a cool and fascinating place! It was pretty rainy when we were here but it kinda fit the Iceland vibe we had expected so it didn't ruin things for us. There's a parking lot with plenty of space with a small restaurant and bathrooms right there. You do have to pay to use the bathrooms though, just a heads up if you're traveling from somewhere where you're not used to that. I'm a destination elopement photographer and this is one of the top places people elope in Iceland - below are some photos that I took here.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, God is good. Spend the day if you can, we went on a tour and we were only there 2 hours.

What a beautiful beach! It was windy, and the sea was rough. Still, we had a good time. The basalt rock formations are really cool, and many people were climbing and posing with them. Overall, a must visit even if it's just for a walk on this beautiful black sand beach.

This beach became very popular after being one of the places GOT was filmed. Basalt columns are very interesting. The contrast between white waves and black sand is amazing, but it was a bit too crowded for me

A beach that does live up to the hype, though you may want to forget about sunbathing here. Stunning back sand, basalt columns, caves, rock formations, cliffs with Puffins dependent on the time of year and magnificent waves which you need to be very respectful of, though on the day I visited the amber light was on but plenty of people were in the amber restricted zone. So I joined them, making sure I was amongst those people who were furthest away from the waves. Any closer and you are asking for trouble.

Lovely black sand beach! Has toilets and a cafe too. Be careful of the waves that can creep up at any point and snatch you away!! Don’t turn you back to the ocean because it literally comes up unexpectedly and you see people running for their lives!! The sand is soooo gorgeous and I bet this place will would be even better in the summer.

One of the most mystical places in the world. Just awesome. Waves are a little bit dangerous so be careful!

One of the most popular beaches and one we had wanted to visit during our short stay in Iceland. Parking was ok and found a space with no problems. The beach is impressive with its black sands and tall stone columns. It's well known for the sneaker waves and a board near the car park tells of the dangers and the last tourist who died a couple of months before. This, however, does not dissuade visitors from going right up to the sea and running back when such a wave comes. And then people climbing up the tall stacks and sitting on them! We enjoyed our visit very much but just couldn't fathom people's stupidity considering how dangerous the waves can be.

Beautiful black sand beach which gives you an amazing scenery with crushing waves and contrast The black sand and basalt columns were beautiful, and the waves are incredibly powerful and wonderful to watch. Great spot with the black sand, basalt cliffs, caves and sea stacks. Walk left though the passage in the rock for a closer view. It’s a few degrees colder on the beach.

Went in the morning around 10 AM. There was a good amount of people, but average amount for a beach especially one this cool. There was a restaurant and you have to pay with the parka app due to the machine being down (the app is very helpful if your planning to explore a lot of signature spots) Definitely a fun spot

Reynisfjara is a gorgeous black sand beach, the views are amazing and you could watch the waves forever: If you are travelling without a guide, please make sure you adhere to the traffic light system in place at the beach warning you off “sneaker waves”, they are incredibly big waves, which can easily pull you into the sea. Even if you think it looks safe, I advise you stand well back and be cautious as people die on this beach every year due to the waves.

What can you say! A mesmerizing wonder. Black sand as far as you can see and the basalt columns are just magnificent. The beach that was formed from a lava eruption 🌋. The water current is really strong and it is recommended not to turn your back. The waves are called sneaker waves for a reason. As you enter the beach there is a warning ⚠️ sign and lights indicating the danger levels of the waves🌊. A must visit for Game of Thrones fans.

This was a highlight of our day. The black sand was gorgeous and not something we were used to seeing. The basalt columns were absolutely beautiful and a very cool thing to climb and see. And we saw puffins! So cool! It did get very crowded, but definitely worth the stop!

They call it black 'sand' but it's actually black because of very fine lava dust from very early eruptions (you can hear all about it at the Lava show, go see it!) Nevertheless, thus, it is a very pretty sight and remarkable piece of nature.

Must see when in Iceland. Moreover, on of the most beautiful beaches on the world. Cold, windy, with sneaker-waves and spectacular stone formations. Great tribute to mother- nature. Be careful- at the parking entrance no information about payment for parking - you can do it online or in the machine on the wall of café.

A beautiful beach that is worth a stop. There are lots of tour buses and people at this beach. The basalt columns are a great photo op and watching the Puffins is fun. But if you drive bit farther to Vik and stop at Vikurfjara you can have an almost identical experience, minus all the people (and the basalt columns which is why I would recommend stopping at both).

This was a place that intrigued me and I always wanted to visit. On our 3rd trip to Iceland we decided to go there. It was a cold day and luckily the wind was not blowing. The walk to see the wreck is around 4 km each way? It is over lava Gravel and without much to see on the route. We kept asking the retuning tourists if was worth it. After some thought they said they think so? We continued on and eventually arrived at the wreck. We took some photos and explored the wreck. On our return walk, we were getting asked if it was worth it, our answer was similar to the others. I am so glad we did visit the wreck, and I got some awesome photos as well. I recommend it, if you don't mind the long walk.

Beautiful place! Amazing to visit before the shuttle bus times. It will be very calm and the perfect spot for pictures. It is a longer hike especially in bad weather conditions. There is no shelter on your way there and no toilets on side. If you prefer not to walk you can book a shuttle bus to go from the parking to the plane and back.

We stopped here on an ATV tour and the plane was cool to see, but I wouldn't make a special trip out here for it. There's a lot prettier spots to see on the black sand beaches than a downed plane. I think the walk can be over a half hour each way. Decent overall but see some of the better features Iceland has to offer.

A hulk of a plane a decent walk away (7km which takes +1,5 hours at walking place, there and back) on a gravel/ rocky road. If you ask me not exactly worth the walk, but you can get a lift to the plane on the snowmobile / bus, for a fee (approximately 1000-2000 króna + parking fee of 700 króna, for standard car) The beach is pretty though and nearby sights/mountains. Wouldn't recommend, unless you really want to visit it.

Awesome to see this crashed plane in the winter! Definitely recommend waiting for the shuttle bus to drive you down there as the wind was icy. Waited about 10m for the shuttle bus. Beautiful views and lots of opportunities for pretty photos with the plane. Carpark is a bit chaotic and saw one camper get trapped, so be careful!

Amazing spot and picture worth it! There is a long walk to get to it if you don't take the shuttle. About 2 miles one way. Wear comfy shoes

Awesome place to visit. Can be busy so hard to take pictures of the plane would be nice if it were cordoned off somewhat. Some people were climbing on top of the plane which is dangerous as it's pretty rusty and someone has fallen through before. Long walk to get there but pretty scenery and it's flat the whole way so it's not too bad.

On the windiest and rainiest day imaginable, we embarked on our journey (via the shuttle). Despite the weather, the adventure was worth every penny. The resulting photos were nothing short of perfection, transporting us to what felt like an entirely different world. If only the weather had been kinder, we might have opted for a leisurely walk. I can proudly say that there are no filters on my photos, as nature's raw beauty speaks for itself.

Long boring walk to the plane is around an hour walk one way. Or you can get a shuttle there and back for 3000isk around 17 pounds. Pictures came out great but there were lots of people in the day time. Night time was a little better. However hard to find your way back 😄

Luckily we managed to get the last shuttle to the plane wreck, otherwise it’s about 50 min walk. Amazing thing to witness, also next to a black beach with black sand, defo recommend It was about £35 there and back for two adults

From the car park, the plane wreck is quite a distance away, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who aren't able to walk long distances. Keep in mind that the weather in Iceland can change rapidly, so plan your visit to this site accordingly. It's best to go nice and early, not late in the day. We made the mistake of going too late, and as we were walking, we realised we were the only ones heading to the plane wreck site. Everyone else we passed was heading back to their cars. You'll need comfortable boots as the trail is flat but very rocky. The sun sets quickly, and we had to rush back from the plane wreck as there are no lights on the trail back to the car park. The wind was harsh, and it became pitch black. We walked as quickly as we could using our phone lights. Once we reached the unlit car park, we had no idea where the car was, so we used the unlocking feature (hazard lights flashed), and we managed to locate the car. On our last day, we took a cab to the airport and found out that some tourists had died at the very spot we visited. You can Google and find out the horror story. Make sure to plan your trip carefully, whatever you decide to do.

The story behind the aircraft is very interesting, but it's difficult to reach if you want to walk around 3.5km, check the weather before your visit there. The airplane is an interesting place for photographers

Beautiful spot, the walk is a bit long if you’re not used to it. We did the round trip in 1h40m. You can always take the bus if you don’t want to walk, 3000 ISK for the round trip. The bus driver was super friendly and said hi every time he passed us. The spot can get quite busy depending on the time of the day. Would advise waiting a bit to take the nicest pics.

Beautiful spot. You have to walk both ways around 1,5hours. There is a bus going which costs money - for all lazy classic tourists. At the end awesome scenery

While you can walk the glacier on your own it's highly recommend that you do it in a group with a trained guide. You will be provided with all necessary equipment. The glacier is gradually melting: your guide will show you how much the ice receded over the last few years. So hurry up. The part that is close to the lagoon is mostly black: covered in a volcanic ash (it is called Mordor by the guides): you will see the cleaner ice as you climb up.

Upon arrival, you genuinely feel immersed in Iceland. The combination of ice and the black sand beach, with nature unfolding before you, is incredible. It leaves you speechless—I've never seen anything like it in my life. The suggestion! The glacier hike might be a bit intimidating, but the advice to embrace the fear and go for it is encouraging. The view from the top sounds like it's worth the experience. Trust me!😉

Amazing and beautiful area to view a glacier up close. It is melting at a slow rate creating a lake filled with chunks of ice. A short path takes you to a viewing point. There is a parking area with a bathroom and a small place to get a hot drink or snack.

What an amazing walk the tour guides Svenja and I believe Amanda were absolutely great they were friendly and informed they helped explain everything and the views were incredible then the clean water was incredible all in all it may be a a rough climb but it's absolutely worth it.

Went on our second glacier experience here during the winter for some ice climbing with Arctic Adventures. The glacier has a totally different look and feel with its winter snow coat on. An organized tour is a must except to waln to the viewpoint. Pay restrooms are available at the tourism center (I think 300isk)

Seeing a glacier is something to behold. You can’t miss this in Iceland - especially if you’re going in the summer, gives you a chance to see actual ice!! You have to pay to go into the park (via app) but it’s definitely worth it. The black sand and glaciers is beautiful! You walk a bit up from the car park, and then you hit a sign that explains the glacier, then although it has a rope around you can walk down closer to the glacier.

Nice road but a pretty rough car park surface but it is to be expected. A faff with the Parka app and then we were off for a 10 min walk to the edge of the glacier. Impressive to see although we didn't book a tour to go on it.

How can this not be an amazing place, but be warned we went in winter and you need to make sure you have the waterproof clothing as it was a blizzard, but don't let this put you off, we didn't get too close because of the show but this is a rare opportunity to really see a Glacier close up.

Calving glacier. Absolutely beautiful. Better visit now, is melting at alarming rate, our guide let us know. The walk is 10 minutes long to the viewing point and a little rocky, maybe not the best for people in cane or wheelchair. Is a little cool is the area, but it is a breathtaking view. The is a place to buy some food and drinks near the parking lot and also restrooms available.

I have to agree with the other reviews if you want to see this you have to go sooner than later. It is melting due to global warming. I went here on a tour from Viator (waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches). It was a short walk to get close. Then the tour guide said we could even go pass the ropes and just be careful. Along the way we saw a couple running streams.. we even drank from one of them. Nothing fresher than that!!

Visiting Glacier in winter time was an incredible experience. Will come back to do a hike on glacier.

Beautiful place, especially if you are prepared and well dressed. We did not go on the glacier itself, as we did not book a tour, but it was still a great experience!

Amazing icecap. Not many people stop by here. After you park, there is about a kilometer hike. You can just go up it but once you reach the ice stairs, you will realize you need glacier shoes to go any further. The glacier gives off a very pretty teal.

Snowmoble activity is too expensive, but it was worth of the money. so funny and exciting!

This is amazing to go up there and see the glacier. A little bit windy when I was up to the mountain but it is worth to experience that. I also had a chance to see the sunset. That was such an extraordinary moment.

Superb adventure, it was the coolest ice cave though had to walk for 15-20mins but it’s worth. Need to be prepared for extreme cold and rain ☔️ and careful while walking around as it could be slippery.

An amazing place. The tour folks take you up to the glacier in a huuuge truck. Then comes the endless ice mixed with volcanic ash. Mesmerizing!

It is a spectacular feeling to walk on to the glacier. Thousands of year old ice beneeth your feet.

Almost all churches in Iceland look like this one. White with a red roof. This one has a small cemetery next to it which adds some melancholy and I like that atmosphere a lot.

Just metres away from the Reynisfjara beach. Looked a tad dirty as compared to other churches I had seen. The church being close to the beach, probably doesn't have the same charm as some of the others do. But surely the surrounding landscape makes it look just as cool.

We took a morning walk through the beach past the wood bridge and sat on the beautiful bench for hot tea. Perfect

Really pretty calm beach, the statue sits nearby a trail that's fun to walk on and read the boards explaining the islands history. Very peaceful. If you want a bite to eat, 'the soup company' in Vik has some great food

Tidy little town and a premium camping area

The statue works well in the scenery and is accompanied by an information board. Interested to see if I can find the counterpart in Hull

Pretty nice swimming pool. I was there for first time, also i was interested more into sauna which were little but very warm, nice heated. Recommend to rest and chill !

Perfect day spend enjoying the warm pool, hot tub and a really nice sauna ! It was clean and really a great experience!

When we were on our trip to Iceland, the wind trapped us in Vík for a day. I went to the swimming pool and sauna because I knew the pools were heated. It was very nice sitting in the warm water as the storm raged around me.

The main pool was cold (15C) when we went, but the hot tub was delightful. We also took a dip in the cold plunge and sat in the sauna.

This facility is amazing BUT if you want to swim in the pool, don't go here for swimming. The pool is only 16 meters long. The view is breathtaking, several jacuzzis and a sauna, all clean and a good size plus warm.

Good pool, can be crowded in some point as normal, but at opening time is very quiet place and nice to chill out, the sauna is very good, therebis also one slide for the kids (or adults XD)

Definitely the chilliest of the lap pools I've encountered so far in Iceland, but on the other hand, that did encourage me to swim faster just to stay warm, and the hot tub felt amazing afterwards. I went right after opening on a weekday, and the hot tub was packed with local retirees chatting and having coffee, which was a really sweet atmosphere, if a bit crowded.

Excelent option while in beautiful Vik 1100isk for 17m pool (28°), kids pool (37), hot tube (40), cold pot (8) and nice sauna

Okay facilities, dirty pools and expencive prices. 5000isk for two

Pretty cheap. Good activity for a rainy day. It has couple different pools with different temperatures (one of 37° and another one of 42°)

I have been to this small city pool and it turn out to be a nice place to spend some relaxing time after all the hikes around Iceland. The staff was very friendly and prone to chat with us. There is a hot bath, a swimming pool, sauna and a gym. The price is really easy.

Average pool, only 1 hot tub very quickly crowded, the sauna is nice as you can drench the rocks yourself, changing room are basic and the lockers are not locking so don't bring anything anything valuable.

We drove around to the front of the mountain to see the famous yoda cave. The cave was very cool and definitely delivered on looking like yoda. There were very few people around and it was very quiet, except for the wind. The road driving in from the ring road was rough. All pot holes and requiring 15 minutes of very slow and bumpy driving.

Beautiful hike to the top. It's a bit steep at points but the 360 view from the top on a clear day is spectacular. Wouldn't recommend doing it on a very windy day.

This place was fantastic. We were recommended to do this hike by a couple we ran into earlier in our trip. It took us an hour and a half to do, but we are the stop and take picture type. We could see Vik from the top, and the rock formations off the coast of Vik also. While the grave was neat, the old turf farmstead cool, the best part was the view and remoteness. My favorite hike I think. We got to see a bunch of sheep up close. Glad their poo doesn't smell as bad as my dogs since i stepped in some. Also it is extremely windy. We did the counter clockwise way, and that worked pretty well. You will really enjoy this hike, guaranteed!

This was such a beautiful spot to see at sunrise. The waves, the beach, the cliff edge, the grave, all well worth the hike. Be cautious, it's a short hike but a steep one.

It's an nice hiking trail. .can be found just as you get out of Vik city in right hand side... There is also a cave and long black sand ground next to it bit the trail and view from the top is gem... Its probably best view o have seen in my entire life... On on side you can see endless sea and on the other side you have mountains covered with glacier rivers... It's quite a long trail about 2 hours round trip but the view is definitely worth the effort... It's also quite a deserted trek and not many people travel here... It's a kind of hidden gem... I have uploaded some photos but they don't do justice to view... You must visit this place.

You can tell by the fact that this only has 17 reviews (when most other attractions have 400+) that this truly is a hidden gem. This is another area where I wish I could give bonus stars. This was my favorite part of our 8 day trip to Iceland (#2 for my wife), and it wasn't even on our 'see this' list. We happened to stumble upon it when we saw a lone car parked at the base of the hill and a sign with the "interesting thing here" logo. Its difficult to describe what this is other than an absolutely stunning hike with a historical surprise at the end. Once you climb to the top of the hill/cliff, you encounter beautiful rolling hills; except you're a few hundred feet above the black sand beach surrounding the 'devils tower' like feature you're on top of. During the hike you catch views of the ocean, of the black sand beach, and the mountains in the background. We even got to watch a sandstorm from a distance as a result of the high winds. If you're an active vacationer; this is a must-do. I've never seen this location mentioned elsewhere, it really does seem to be one of the few 'secrets' left in Iceland. Because of the winds, we did not make the hike to the cave.

Super neat caved called Hjörleifshöfði near the town of Vik where you want to visit the Icelandwear store since the prices seem better than in Reykjavík
