As a kid, my father used to take me here every now and then, after visiting my grandparents or getting ice cream in the city center. Back then, and to this day, the view is amazing. One of the few spots that give a panoramic overlook of the entire city, it really is a great place to spend an evening with friends or a partner. Its height and relative distance to the surrounding housing makes it remote enough to hang out with friends and listen to music, or engage in "recreational activities" without disturbing others, while still being central enough in the city to be easily reachable by pretty much any means. All that being said, it does have its flaws; with it being right next to the train tracks, it does get rather loud when ICEs pass or locomotives are moved. People with a fear of heights may also not have the easiest time with this place, since it is... well, a tower. Some people may also be put off by the occasional trash around the actual viewing platform, and though ive personally never really been bothered by it, you wanna be really careful if you come here with children, as theres usually a broken bottle or two spread around the corners of the platform. Lastly, the thing that is most offputting to me is that the stairs along the side of the tower arent very well maintained. It is not uncommon for one or more of the first couple steps to be missing from one day to the other, making it difficult, if not dangerous to descend them in the dark. Once again, i am not too bothered by this, but people who arent familiar with the setting or have trouble walking may want to take this into consideration. Overall, the place is a little run down, but that, combined with its relative remoteness makes it one of my favorite hangout spots in the city.
