Once again Rio did not fail to amaze me on this experience. What breathtaking views of all of Rio from the top! Also Christ the Redeemer is so big and pictures do it absolutely no justice. I am glad we went at 0900 am because it was not very crowded and we got up to the top extremely quick. Also the weather was in the 60’s so it was perfect. Enjoy the views, take as many photos as you can.

I wasn't sure whether to go to the top to see Christ the Redeemer in Rio but I'm glad I did. We had heard a lot about how busy it gets so were unsure whether we'd enjoy it but we had a good time. We took the train up and got to the station at about 7am on a Friday and there was already a queue of about 20 people ahead of us. The first train leaves at 7:20am and I would recommend getting this one or one soon after because it gets very busy as the day goes on! I think going on a weekday also helps. The train journey up was only about 10 minutes and there were pockets of nice views and lots of trees and leaves - very comfortable way to go up. You can also drive up (or hike which we were told not to do due to sadly safety reasons) so have a look and see what works best for you. We got to the top and even though we were the first train up, I would say there were still a lot of people up there at that time! We still felt fairly comfortable but it definitely wasn't quiet. The Christ statue was impressive but what was even more amazing to me were the incredible views of Rio from the top. It's such a beautiful viewpoint on a clear day that I'd highly recommend it just for that. Worth a visit if you're in Rio!

If you are visiting Rio, you definitely need to make a trip to see Christ the Redeemer. It's a short Uber ride or you can book many of the tours that also provides transportation. We booked a tour with Trip Advisor for $44 that included transportation, admission to Chris the Redeemer and the site tours. Monica was our tour guide and she did an amazing job and spoke 3 languages.

This has to be the number 1 tourist attraction in Rio. You can come to Rio and not go if you are visiting. It’s very easy to Uber there and back. You don’t need to buy tickets in advance. You want to go when it’s a clear day. The only day we could go it was foggy. But the clouds rolled in and out so there was some clear spots where the views were amazing. It gets very crowded go best time is to go early. You can walk up the hill or take a cable car. But it’s best just to take the vans up and down.

You have to visit if you’re in Rio, and it’s amazing enough to deserve 5 stars. My review is more of the small tactical things that may make your visit better: Arrive early. Before 8:30 early. I booked the 7:20 am train departure, but ended up going up the hill at 7:40. By the time I was leaving at 9am the line was well out to the street and trains going up the hill were standing room only. Bring a hat, the direct sun can be brutal! Bring water as well. If you go early beware the cafe is not open until 9am. Overall be prepared for the lines and rude people going to get shots for the Gram.

Definitely the best view over Rio de Janeiro! Despite being very busy, the view definitely is worth it. You will have to take a train from the bottom towards the top, from descending the train you can take an elevator or just climb the stairs to the top. From that point you can see almost the entire city. Up there are coffee shops and gift shops so you can spend some good time.

Took an Uber to the base and bought a ticket in the tram station. There was no line. It was a great experience. There is also a little cafe if you get thirsty or hungry on your way up to the statue. There are a couple of souvenir stores too. Great views from the top.

One of the best places to visit in Rio. Transportation to reach the redentor can be challenging. Recommend visiting before 10a, can be very packed after. Alternative option to take a scenic train.

A must... breathtaking. I recommend going as part of a tour, if you're not from Rio. There's definitely a process, a series of queues to get up there. There are several gift shops and views above the clouds. There are lots of people up there, and monkeys 😊

Christ the Redeemer is simply breathtaking. When I first laid eyes on this monument atop Corcovado Mountain, I felt a thrilling mixture of admiration and reverence. The unique view it offers of the city and the coastline is unparalleled. The towering silhouette of Christ harmoniously embraces the mountain's surroundings, evoking a sense of tranquility and religious awe. This monument is synonymous with Rio de Janeiro, and rightfully so, as it stands as one of the most impressive global symbols. Access is easy, and the experience of ascending via the tram adds to the excitement. Additionally, the facilities and amenities for visitors are excellent.

Be prepared lots of stairs to climb. The last two floors have an escalater. Look for the elevator though... Didn't see it until coming down. Lots and lots of people, I couldn't get past them without a struggle. Many taking up space on the ground to get that perfect picture view😬. Come on people, take in the view with your eyes, it is absolutely breath taking! Bucket list? DON'T THINK TWICE!!! A must!👍🏼

This is an honest overview for a first-time visitor stuck in line during rush hour and peak summer heat. This is of course a must-see when visiting Rio, however the experience can be quite miserable and painfully slow if you don’t plan properly. The drop off site is for the train station (more like a tram) up through the forest to the monument. The best time to go is right when it opens and it is best to buy tickets online ahead. If you show up after 10:30am, you will wait in a spiraling queue just to buy a ticket for the train up to the site. The line can take 1.5 hours just to purchase a ticket. There will be a person going through the line with a card machine to sell tickets or if the person doesn’t make it to you, you can buy a ticket at the box office near where the train boards. Once you get the ticket, there is still a long wait to get on the train. There are only about two trains operating and they fit maybe 75 people. The train takes 20 minutes to get to Christ the Redeemer. The monument is packed with people, shoulder to shoulder. I’d say 20-30 minutes at the monument is more than adequate for some nice photos and to look at the view, with so many people it’s not enjoyable to be there. During rush hour it could take another hour to hour and a half to wait for the train and get back to ground level. All in all, during peak rush hour, allocate about 4-5 hours from start to finish for this experience. Opting for a van or private cab to the top would probably be more ideal if it’s crowded. Tl;dr: Book ahead and go early otherwise it will be a long wait! The train system doesn’t feel very efficient, however there are also thousands of people coming every day to see it, which this really can’t accommodate well.

We were planning to take the train up the mountain but were approached by a sales lady when we got out of the Uber. She offered us a van service that would take us on top of the mountain and include two additional viewpoint before the final stop for R50 each person round trip, so we agreed to it. The van service took us to the middle point with a great view of Rio! Then it drove us the visitor center. Since the van service runs the whole day, we were able to take the van back afterwards too.

It does have a historical significance. There is absolutely no doubt about it. Your presence around the tower will definitely bring you back in time and will make you appreciate the depth of history it contains. But in terms of structure, its just another old building. I might be wrong but there's not a lot of recreation around this place. Just a park, like any other. No offence intended though.

Beautiful view, great experience, only spent about 20min because that was all there was to see besides the view of the city. Definitely buy tickets in advance and go as early as possible, we got there at 8am, there was people already there as time passed it started getting more crowded. We went on Tuesday

This has always been a destination that I wanted to see. I finally did, and in 2023, I will say it's worth it 100%. It's a short ride to the top. Get their early. I recommend buying the fast pass ticket (skip the line). There will be lots of people, and trying to get a picture might be tough. The staff is nice and very helpful. If you get a chance get the experience yourself

The trip up the mountain was very scenic. You got to see nature at its finest. Even though this place can get crowded, the people are aware and not confrontational. You are able to see the city on a 360 view.

One of the best place to observe the whole Rio De Janeiro. You can see the copa cabana and ipanema beach from there. Also this is nice place to observe the race course and the domestic airport. To get there you need a guide. Otherwise it is sometimes difficult. There are specific visiting time on different days. You will be transported to point by minibus and then you can walk down the staircase or you can take the lift. Usually there is a long que if you want to take a photo with the statue.

One must not miss this attraction in Rio De Janeiro. A 20 min train ride to the top but due to the usual crowds even on weekday and off shoulder periods, you’ll have to wait for the electric train. As you board the train, try to take the seats on the right hand side for a better view of the bay. After you get off at the fourth and last stop, take an elevator to the base of the statue. Saves you about 6 flights of stairs. Finally, manoeuvre your way in the maddening crowd to take the best pics of the statue and the panoramic scenery.

Of course, it was worth the visit when in Rio, I would recommend booking in advance and coming early as the train to go up takes some time. Or you can also take an Uber ride to the top. But I highly recommend the train as it's a very nice ride through the jungle with some views of the city. It might be packed at the top. We had a guide, which was helpful as he was able to jump the queue.

The statue is an essential visit while in Rio! You can reach this point by taking a funicular (train), a van, or by hiking. The main funicular station allows you to buy tickets in person using cash at a box office or using a credit card at one of the electronic kiosks on the station platform. They are timed tickets so pay attention to the time. Prices also vary by day! The van can be reserved for pickup at Ipanema, Copacabana, or at the visitor center near Christ the Redeemer. You'll have to get a ride up to the visitors center somehow if you choose that pickup location. You can hike here by starting at Parque Lage. It will take you a solid four hours uphill but it's free and you'll see wildlife and waterfalls along the way. Just bring water and prepare to sweat. At the top you'll find snacks and drinks. There's a restaurant and even a small chapel for prayer. There are wild monkeys so be careful and keep your distance. The Redeemer statue has multiple platforms. There is an amazing view of Rio from the lowest one. Try to be here at sunset for the best views!

202 Nov.17 We took a train the first time up. The second time we hiked. Any popular tourist site I’ve visited, I’ve been blessed not to have crowds. Just go very early if you can. As one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, this massive 30-meter (100-foot) tall statue offers stunning views over Rio. They do have stairs to the top from the train station, but one can take an elevator and an escalator. There are also 2 chapels that can be visited. The train ride up is a must. It is was so iconic to arrive and marvel Christ the Redeemer. This site is a must see. Powerful visit and experience.

First of all, still no second coming. Kind of a let down right? Ok but seriously, jokes aside, the statue itself is definitely 5/5. Beautiful, with great views, a must-see, fully recommended. What makes it 2/5 though is the staff. The whole place is a tourist trap. First they try to make money of you trying to sell you tickets literally 15meters from the ticket booth, looking very official, but having double prices. The local “security” boss just looks at it. Read some other reviews that these guys actually cooperate. DON’T buy anything unless you’re at the booth. Then they want to take a photo of you standing in front of a green screen. Those museum/stadium tour kind of pics as if you’re standing right in front of Jesus. Which they print up at the hill (whether you like it or not, awful waste of photo-paper), and try to make you buy it. A guy next to me had to turn them down multiple times, as unsuccessful employee was replaced by a more skillful one. DON’T let them take any pictures of you (unless you want one 😄) - you’ll save yourselves a lot of “no” and a bad feeling when coming back down. After getting down, some other guys try to get you to their restaurant of course. But this one is kind of expected and easy to avoid. The thing, the place, the view is of course a must see. Don’t miss it. But be careful. It’s top 3 Rio experience. People raking in commissions are everywhere, waiting for you to slip.

The views are breathtaking! It's a wonder to be by the Chirst The Redeemer! statue and the beauty all around it.The best time is in the morning to get a good picture of the statue. The bathrooms were fairly clean. There is a bar and a couple of souvenir shops.

Train ride up is very cool. Sit on the right hand side to get a better view. Statue is nice to see. We prepaid tickets and went up at 7:20am and it is already crowded with dozens of tourists queuing for a selfie. And hot and humid. Can only imagine how crowded it can get. A beautiful view nonetheless

We went on Sunday morning to find Sunday Mass being held. What an experience. Beautiful views. Just be prepared that EVERYONE wants that great picture. So it is very hard to get past some narrow places. But there are plenty of places that are not crowded to see amazing views.

I really loved it there. I would recommend to hike the first part of the journey as it adds to the experience… and for the second part you have no choice but to take a cable cabin. I’d say that as in every touristy place everything is overpriced there, so maybe keep your shopping for other places, but it’s not the worst if you will buy it there. Definitely worth going there for beautiful landscapes of Rio!

Definitely recommend doing this. You get to see the best views of Rio. We went during sunset and it was perfect. You got to see the sunset from the first cable car ride. Then you for the city when it was dark. I think place is always busy but the do a good job of moving all the lines quickly. You can spend a few hours up there or a whole day.

That's one thing you absolutely have to do in Rio and in my opinion it's event better than Christ the redeemer. Excellent organization, there were no queues and plenty of stores on both stations in case you want to take a break. Look at the forecasted weather though, if it's cloudy you won't see an thing from the top station !

It’s a must attraction if you’re visiting Río de Janeiro. The cable car is a neat way to reach the top and the views of the city are amazing. You get a 360 view of Rio. Plenty of places to take great pictures. There are restaurants and pubs up top in case you want to get a bite or drink while you’re up there. The cost to go up was $120 reales, worth every penny. I recommend going around 18hrs so you can see the sunset from the peak of the Sugarloaf.

Beautiful mountain with amazing views! The tickets to go up are not cheap, but going there is definitely worth it! I can recommend buying your tickets online in advance: it saves you some waiting time. You buy a ticket for the whole day and can visit at whatever time you want. Both stops of the teleferico are worth taking your time for: each offers different and beautiful views of Rio de Janeiro. There are toilets, shops and bars at each stop, and plenty of lookout points. For us, our visit here was even more impressive than the Christ the Redeemer statue.

Another amazing view of rio and can see Christ redeemer. We went at sunset which I would recommend. You can walk up to the middle part and grab the cable car to the top but the price is expensive. 140 to get to top and then all the way back down

Highly recommended for any visitors to Rio! Amazing panoramic view of Rio that you won’t see from anywhere else. There is sometimes a DJ up there blasting dance music, making it feel like one big party for VIPs! Just be prepared to wait in line for the ride up and down.

Very scenic. Cool seeing people climbing up the hills. There are like 3 levels of landing offering different views, be sure to get the ticket that goes all the way to top for outstanding view. Few shops at the top try the delicious açaí bowl it’s a real treat!

You MUST visit if you are in the area. Plan to spend the day. Arrive around 9 or 10. Buy tickets in advance. Bars, restaurants and shopping. The views! The first stop is worth spending some time, get a drink and wander around, good photo ops. Then go on to Pão de açúcar (Sugarloaf), eat lunch and take in the view!

Absolutely stunning and incredible. Well worth it. Go on a weekday, it’s much less crowded. The 360 degree views are amazing. Tip: worth checking out the webcam to see if it’s a clear day, otherwise it can be very cloudy and you will not have any views. We bought our tickets online, but it has the flexibility for you to use it within 7 days from the date you choose which helped a lot weather-wise. We parked at the base for 20 BRL

A must do in Rio! I went early in the day and the place was quiet, no queue. I almost had the place for myself on top of the Pao. When I left around 12-13h, it was getting very crowded. Plan at least 2h to do the visit.

This is really the best way to see the entire city of Rio. It’s quick clean and well run. It cost RS 160 ($34 US) to go round trip. It seems a little expensive, but if you’re in Rio, you should definitely do it.

Wow this was better than I expected. I spent most of my day here. There are two cable cars that take you up. Lots of space to take photos and many viewing points. There are places to buy food and drink and many gift shops. There was also a tattoo parlour. There is a museum and an old cable car on display. The views are spectacular, but sadly it did rain while I was there.

Highly recommend if it's your first time in Rio! Great views of all of Rio. Restaurants and bars at the first mountain. We went on a weekday in the afternoon and it was not too busy. At sunset and weekends it gets busy and there is a pretty long line. Great experience!

Such unique experience with breathtaking views from the top and funny marmosets. I recommend taking the “stairs” through jungles to the 1st top spot (if you have physical ability to go upstairs for some time) from where you can take a ropeway to the very top.

Highly recommend the trail to the first cable cart stop then take the cable cart up to the top. You navigation through the jungle is intriguing and fun. Appreciate the view and occasionally encounter of the wild animals.

I went there on a Sunday day and there werent so many people. I enjoyed every single angle from all the views and it was so worthy to stay under the hot sun.

I know this is supposed to be one of the top notch tourist attractions in the area, but given that my experience was strongly affected by the weather, I cannot give it 5 out of 5 stars. Also while it is nice that there are some things to see on the platforms on the two mountains, it would have been nice if they have more and better things for tourists in those platforms.

If you are afraid of heights, don't even try it. Otherwise definitely recommend this scenic attraction if you are in Rio.There's several options for gelato, food and drinks, along with helicopter tours. Plenty of spots for pictures of Rio, especially during the night.

One the best experinces when in Rio de Janeiro . Not to be missed , offering amazing views of the city . Service was well organised and definitely we felt safe. We bought tickets on location , waiting line goes from 15-30 minutes on weekday .

Absolutely stunning views once you get up there. Only bad thing is that they try to fit a LOT of people in the carts and the ride is super hot and uncomfortable, with everyone just blocking the view. Best time to do it is early in the morning or 4:00pm the latest. After 5:00pm is super crowded. Plenty of options to have a bite up there.

Pão de Açúcar is a must see place if you’re visiting Rio de Janeiro, we went there right before sunset and it was amazing. We could see the Cristo Resentor statue at the other side of Rio from here with the sunset beam right next to it. On the two mountains, there are shops and a couple of bars and restaurants as well as souvenir shops. There’s also a museum and access to the forest under. The place is hot of lizards, tiny mico monkeys and birds. I strongly recommend to buy the tickets online to avoid queuing for hours like many other tourists had to do.

Legendary beach with beautiful sand but that’s pretty much it. Overly crowded? vendors bothering you every minutes even when you pretend to sleep. It’s worth checking out if you are in Rio because it is Copacabana after all but I’d rather spend my time at Ipanema or Leblon. About $R10 to rent a chair and umbrellas are $R15-25 depending in size.

Beautiful beach scenery with wide paving stones to walk along the shoreline. The sand is pristine and white and in distance the unique Rio bay surrounds in a circular direction. Mountain tops and beaches with residential high-rises. The water looks lovely and went for swim but there's a sewerage issue still. I tried to avoid swallowing the water but this is difficult and ultimately caught a stomach bug. Stalls and various kiosks line the sidewalk some of which are worth checking out.

A really beautiful beach. Exceeded expectations! The southern end is more quiet and with less hawkers. Generally quite safe but don't show jewellery or other valuable, e.g. new cell phones etc.

As if visiting the attractions in Rio wasn't enough, You can't forget about the beach! ⛱️🩳🩳🏖️🏝️🇧🇷🇧🇷 I definitely enjoyed my time there, and I am definitely going back again this year to Sao Paulo (specifically late August, early September, because that's when it's peak summer season there) People are friendly for the most part, and inviting.

The beach is white and clean. It is good to go in the beach during morning as it is not crowded durinh the afternoon. Night life in the beach is superb, bars around the beach are bit pricy. Nothing bad happened to us during our stay but the locals are always saying that we must be careful, not use our phones while walking and take care to our bags.

One of the more bustling beaches in Rio, with tons of restaurants and hotels nearby. I highly recommend staying in this area. It’s in close proximity to everything that you might need: supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, easy access to the beach, etc.

Check the sunset time of the day! This beach is beautiful and totally safe to have your phone out for photos. Açai booth beside the beach is delicious too💜

My family and I enjoyed our time at Copacabana beach. Apart from being world famous, there are also a number of areas to go depending on what you like doing. It is divided in areas demarcated by flags from 1 through 6. Each area has a place where you can buy drinks and food items, as well as a water source to get the sand off you when you decide to leave. There are areas that have nets for Beach games, like volleyball. There are areas that have outdoor weight lifting. Other area with free-standing pullup and dip stations. While others are just made for kicking back, soaking in the sun, and enjoying the view of the ocean in between people watching! If you enjoy the beach. You should not miss this one!

Stayed for several days in an apartment near by. I feel very lucky to experience the sunrise and sunset at the beach with my beloved friends. I love the scene, made me feeling like inside GTA.

Copacabana is a bairro (neighborhood) in Rio de Janeiro: in the South Zone of the city. Its 4 km (2.5 miles) beach is the most famous. I'm impressed by how clean the beach is when we get there in the morning! ... evening is another story. Of course, there is this statue of their famed son Ayrton Senna (1960-94), who died on the race track ...our first stop in Rio is to visit him.

First time here, love the fact everything and I do mean everything is credit card. All beach vendors carry hand held POS stations so all you need is a credit card. Just walk onto the beach and rent a tent, chairs and easily order drinks and food.

The mere mention of the name Copacabana makes my blood start to pump. Beautiful views and beautiful people at every time of day, all around. It's safe to walk on the promenade pretty much at any time, but it gets very crowded on sunny days.

Nice beach, clean, with a lot to do but the downside is that there is a lot of scams and crimes on this beach. I had to have a restaurant employee call a police officer over because a man kept following me demanding money. Would not feel comfortable visiting again but would be perfect without that bad experience.

Copacabana is really beautiful and special place it's icon for Rio and one of the reasons to visit this beautiful city! Brazil and Brazilian people are amazing! Hope to see Copacabana again as soon as possible!

A bit overrated :) leblon ipanema side is more beautiful to be honest. Here it is crowded and there are too many sellers around you and never give you a personal space at all. The sunbeds are overpriced as well. Vidigal is more beautiful and calm and cheaper.

Love this place, especially when there are expositions from Instituto MarAdentro!

Awesome beach, great views and not as busy as Copacabana. Waves are pretty big here, especially as you're trying to go in or out - be careful of the breaking zone. Sunlounger 15 real, ample food/drink people but not an overload. Had to take 1 star off because the waves were so big first time I went in, lost my glasses :/ Nonetheless, came back to swim here at least 3 more times, these big waves are amazing to swim in, provided you're a reasonably competent swimmer. Lots of surfers around too.

Great beach and my favourite in the city. Sunset can be seen from the rock at Copacabana end of the beach. Great to run along at sunrise before it gets too hot. The beach never gets too busy even on weekends as it’s large with many beach with chairs and parasols.

I prefer this beach than Copacabana I find it less busy. Perfect sand and great waves for surfing.

This beach is iconic and although Playa Flamenco in Puerto Rico has “whiter” bleach white sound, this one’s sand has a yellow or off white sugar glow to it, that is stunning. The beach is safe, just remember to not wear a lot of jewelry and be mindful of your belongings. Treat this beach like you’re in a large city and you’ll be fine. We never left our belongings unattended and also renting chairs from someone provides extra security as they take care of you. But again, treat it like the large city you are visiting. We rented a chair and umbrella from a man who was very kind and helpful. We did get accosted by one person who tried to take our rented chair and finally I utilized my Portuguese lesions and blended my very direct response in Spanish and the man left us alone. It’s ok to speak up but for the most part, it was a great experience and so many local people were kind and helpful. The pictures are not photoshopped and don’t do this beach justice.

Best beach ever! Especially beautiful at the sunset and very early in the morning. Be kind to all guys serving sun umbrella, chairs and drinks. They are all lovely and friendly.

Iconic, beautiful place does not disappoint. Beautiful women, friendly. You can enjoy cocktails on the beach. Water is cold but the sand and sun are hot. Some people even brought their dogs to enjoy the great November weather. Once in a lifetime place. Please check it out!

Beautiful beach, you can hire 2 chars and umbrella with 29 reals. We sat down, enjoyed drinks and then realised that this area between rainbow flags is for lgbt people, mostly gay men and then me and my girlfriend

Interesting viewpoint between Copacabana and Ipanema. The place is unique though for a wrong reason. Walking to the rocky outcrop, you are met with the overwhelming smell of human pee. Unless there is a weed or plant that has the exact same smell. This place may have the largest concentration of pee known to man.

Stayed here for a week at the end of May. My husband and I had the best time! You could not ask for better views and the location was ideal- right on the beach. We had an ocean front room and it was so nice to wake up with the sunlight. The restaurant is not reserved for guests, but we never had a difficult time finding a table. And the food was always delicious. The staff was very friendly provided great recommendations.

Go up the rocks and enjoy another great view of Rio. You can see the beaches of Arpoador, Ipanema and Leblon on your right and maybe you can get a quick view of the Christ statue if you look behind the buildings. If you are there, just wait until the sunset, and enjoy the view.

This beach is always packed but it is a good place to see the sunset, surf, get refreshments because the street vendors are close, and even work out because the beach gym is there.

An amazing stadium. We had the chance of watching the Corinthians play another team. The stadium is big comfortable, and we watched the game at sunset so the lighting was spectacular. I highly recommend going, the audience has a bunch of chants that they sing and it’s quite amazing.

A place that you must visit, the tour is not timed. You are able to go to different pf the stadium where a tour guide will be there to explain most things. You are also able to take a penity shot on the patch for a small fee. If you are able to score a goal. You will be given a video clip for free. You will also be given a medal which again you may have to pay a small fee. Overall a good 👍🏾 experience.

Incredible experience. Watched flamengo vs Sao Paolo, 3 - 1 to the home side. Great atmosphere, seating area, nobody sat by the way, only at half time. Friendly staff. Well secured. Friendly spirits. Didn't buy beer, looked v expensive and it'll be thrown in your hair anyway. The popcorn was great though. Any seating area would do tbh, the field feels close.

My wife and I took our toddler here and he loved it! The location is accessible for wheelchairs and the staff are extremely accommodating! There is very little information available online and what we learned was gate A was best for entry. I would not waste money on websites promising a tour or reselling tickets, just go to the location and walk through. Gate A! It was great seeing the history of futbol in Brasil! The field is beautiful and we hope in a future visit we get the chance to attend a game. Kid friendly, wheelchair accessible. Accessible tips: there are no accessible restrooms in the stadium tour access. They will redirect you to another entrance and unfortunately the doors are still locked. I would recommend insistent that a staff member walk with you to the external bathrooms.

Fantastic Stadium! Felt lucky to have had the opportunity to visit such an iconic stadium and would definitely recommend it to the football fans. One of the must see attractions in Rio de Janeiro. This is a soccer temple to Brazilians and to many soccer fans across the planet. Too many iconic players and games have been play here. Too many legendary guest have visited. You'll learn about them all on a stadium tour! The tour is about an hour and semi self guided. You'll find guides throught the tour ready to answer questions in Portuguese, Spanish, or English. Credit cards or cash is accepted for payment. Restrooms are available towards the end. You're free to linger during the tour but you can't go backwards. Uber is available to take you here but the designated pick up point is a fair walk south of the stadium.

An amazing football stadium, especially when you have the chance to watch Brazil play! We were fortunate enough to attend the Rio 2016 Olympic final between Brazil and Germany. Brazil won the match in a penalty shootout to win the gold medal. See my video of the winning goal! The Maracanã Stadium is very impressive and worth a visit for football fans. There were plenty of facilities including food & drink vendors and toilets. The atmosphere at the Maracanã is incredible and the Brazilian fans were very passionate and friendly.

Heaven for football fans! Buy tickets online and skip the line if you can, otherwise line up isn't too bad. Tour is very basic in English, Spanish and Portuguese but enough. First you see the museum, then changing area, then the field. Inexpensive and worth the visit. 66 Real (~16CAD) for entry. Cool to see everyone in their football shirts from around the world.

A great place to view the Brazilian Football history and get into a real stadium with access to players dressing room and dugouts. Apparently it is one of the world’s largest football stadium. If you are taking an Uber to this place, then please ensure that you put the museum address.

When Flamengo is playing a top-notch opponent, the vibe and energy here is on super-drive! Highly recommend taking in a game, whether you're a soccer fan or not. A sunny day here with 60,000 rabid fans is something to behold. The stadium used to hold 100,000, so it's actually quite spacious for moving around.

History was made in this stadium. Soccer fan or not, Maracanã is one of the most famous landmarks in Rio de Janeiro. For only a few BRL you can take the self-guided tour through the locker rooms, press room, and of course the sitting area too!

Legendary stadium, how can I give less than 5 stars... On one day, we did the tour of the stadium on one day and also purchased tickets in person. To purchase online, one needs CPF, a Brazilian tax id of some sort. So we could only buy the tickets to the very next game only, passports and IDs in hand. Even for the kids. As far as the tour, I was not impressed because it was not a guided tour, quite a lot of people, and I am not a huge ⚽️ fan. The game. Wow. Atmosphere, security, organization --that I liked. The fans are physically separated in different sections, which was amazing for me. During the game, you are constantly approached by people selling ice cream, beer, cookies and popcorn. I can't say I liked that part, but I didn't mind because if kids want a treat, you do not have to leave the stands. Exiting the stadium after the game was fast, safe, taxis waiting. Overall, great experience

Mega famous stadium of course but my feeling is that it replies on its history. The museum was iconic with all the famous Brazilian players remembered. The stadium itself is aging and doesn’t seem to be that big compared to some of the modern European stadiums.

Atmosphere is the most impressive I’ve ever seen. Regardless of the football, the passion you witness from the fans is unrivalled. Not too difficult to get to either. Would suggest taking to the stadium and getting the subway back to Rio.

The tour is great, especially because you can visit the play field , take photos on the bench and feel the real sensation of the pitch. What a great experience visiting Rio de Janeiro and Brazil plays against Argentina. Unfortunately Brazil lost 1-0 with some clashes between Argentinian fans and the police but the staff were welcoming, well organized for 68K fans.

Due to its history, this stadium is ripe to visit. It's an experience to be there. Not enough has been done for visitors to see like in other world stadiums, bad and little. But the very feeling of being at the Maracana... priceless

Great way to experience Brazilian football and take in the history of Maracana. The museum and tour of the locker room and fields were a lot of fun. Booking tickets was a little bit of a challenge since you needed to pay in cash and have passports for each ticket. The cashiers only spoke Portuguese but there were plenty of friendly fans to help get tickets for that nights game.

Stadium is a rio icon, although i had way higher expectations for the guided trip, it turned out to be a non-guided tour. Despite those major drawbacks, the stadium is worth visiting.

We were able to experience watching a soccer game, the right way. football is a game of passion. Although, we didn't understand portagese, but it was a wonderful experience hearing all those soccer chanting from the hard-core fans. Definitely recommended watching a game while in Rio.

Truly spectacular historical theater in rio de janeiro that is still preserved and has events. If you have time to visit here and see a concert, definitely consider it. The surrounding area is quite abandoned but that's very much the city of rio. 10/10 5/5

Amazing historical building The Theatro Municipal is an opera house in the Centro district of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built in the early the twentieth century, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful and important theaters in the country.

Such a magnificent theater! The most beautiful one you can find in Rio. I went here to see Guilherme Arantes which was a really good show. The sound within the building is phenomenal!

Still sacha a beautiful building! The “Salão Assírio concert” was fantastic! Even my mother, who is elderly and has some memory problems sang “Asa Branca” along with the whole room. Thank you so much! It was moving and unforgettable. Also, the usher at the door was extremely helpful to let us into the theater with a wheelchair and the bathroom was accessible. WE HAD THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME! Thank you all!!!!

One of the few magnificent architects in town, took inspiration from the Opera House “Palau’s Garnier”. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem well kept. Ground floor main hall was in a Persian theme which was unusual.

Inspired by the Paris Opera, it was completed in 1909. Features gold-plated elements in the roof as well as the large eagle on top. For the pest photo opportunities stand on the Cinelandia square (this way you should be able to capture the eagle) and from the Camara Municipal staircase across the road. Also don't forget to take photos from the sides: the columns and the ceiling of the second floor.

This is the place you should go, see the sunset and sunrise, from any partof the Lagoon.

The lagoon is massive & spills out to the Atlantic Ocean via a small canal running through the city. This is the same lagoon the media heralded as overly polluted prior to the World Cup and Olympics. This is not the case! It is blue and tranquil.

Beautiful! Just make sure you walk up otherwise you won't see anyrhing. Friendly street cats, drinks and caiparinhas available. Tourist shops at the bottom and if you get to the top you can continue up to Santa Teresa which is lovely. Plenty of people talking photos, keep a wary eye of your surroundings but you should be fine because of how busy it is.

We were there at about lunchtime. The weather was extremely hot, and there were a lot of people in the different stages of these steps. However, it is a place that should be visited. There are a lot of incredible tiles on it. And it's worth it to take some time to look for the different ones that are pretty interesting. Also, there's a little bit of shopping opportunity there with art pieces being in offer!

What a unique site! The amount of time and effort that went into creating this ever changing work of art is amazing. I found tiles from all over the world, and people for just as many countries visiting to see this site! Do not miss this!

Wonderful sightseeing spot! Very creative and colorful. For me one of the most important stops when in Rio de Janeiro 😊 Most of the countries have its own tile with creative design/s. Sometimes very crowded, but that’s no big surprise. Also a nice spot to buy some souvenirs from the vendors on the street or enjoying a cold drink in one of the numberless bars next to it. And maybe you see some small monkeys jumping around 🐒

Super cool. You could spend all day looking at the different tiles and delighting in the details and imagery. But also a quick stroll up and down the stairs yields a worthy time commitment. Definitely worth checking out!

This is one of the newer spots that tourists have learned to love. Beautiful and colorful! I bought here the most overpriced, watered-down Caipirinha I had in Brazil - but it was totally worth it, it's all part of the experience. It gets pretty crowded, so keep your stuff close!

Cool place to take colorful pics. It will be a very short visit since to go all the way up won’t take more than 20 min. Is better to go with day light, otherwise the pics are not so great with the street lights. An small negative point might be that the surrounding streets don’t feel very safe at night, specially if you’re on your own.

An important part of Rio de Janeiro. It must be seen, although it is very busy, many people stop by to take photos. Here you can have a caipirinha at 5 pesos, or to buy handcrafted jewelry. Be careful at your pockets because many people here don't come to see the stairs 😟. Overall it is an experience that you must try when in Rio de Janeiro.

Some friends and I took a taxi here it was a Sunday afternoon. I felt perfectly safe walking the stairs lots of activity and lots of people. All in all I would recommend it just to do it but you're going to be done with the stairs and 20 minutes tops and if you want there's a few restaurants there as well as vendors with souvenirs.

Very beautiful. As someone from Rio, I went there the first time to show my girlfriend who is not from here. And I got very surprised. I should have gone before. It is very interesting. Social media photography and videos spot. It is a beautiful art work. That’s all you can do. Be patient. There’s a lot of people going up and down. We even offered help to take pictures to other tourists and locals. There’s a lot of steps to go up, which I did to meet my steps goals in my exercise app. The area is ok, it isn’t the safest place in the area. But you go and take your pictures and then you keep going.

The work that went into decorating these steps is amazing. I could spend a lot of time looking at all the tiles and mosaics. This is a great place to take photos and to sit and relax or chill with friends. It is a lively area in the evening. No matter the time of day, there will be other people, and they will be in the background of your photos. There is also cool street art around the corner.

Absolutely beautiful to see and explore. The staircase goes up quite a while so there is plenty to see in the art. Word of advice is to go early before it gets hot and crowded. There are a lot of people seeing a photo opportunity and it is hard to actually look at and appreciate the art of the staircase once it gets busy.

If you already booked a your for one day in Rio, do not worry, they will bring you there! This escaderia is over 200+ stairs and you can take lots of pictures with beautiful backgrounds. There is a common photo you'd like to take, but there is usually a long queue (at the beginning), my recommendation is to go up and you'll find better spots for pictures

Amazing space and art in the heart of Rio. We went on a Saturday night when it was pouring rain so we’re basically alone. Great spot to spend a bit of time. Tons of hip bars nearby, check them out for a cheap drink after.

Busy, touristy, bustling with charm, smiles and atmosphere you simply couldn’t find elsewhere. Hold on to your bags and valuables. We were warned about pickpockets. I didn’t see any, but I can imagine with it being so busy, it’s a prime spot. Common sense should be used. Would I go again? Absolutely I would. My son needs another pair of £9 raybans, and while he’s buying them, I can admire the beautiful street art that I’ve never been able to find better anywhere

2023 Nov. I had the best visit here. My pictures speak volumes. I was fortunate enough not to have many people around in this busy tourist spot of town. Great weather and time here. Any island I got to locals, to me are always welcoming. When I visited Escadaria Selarón I was amazed by the beauty and creativity of this place. The stairs are decorated with thousands of colorful tiles from different countries, creating a stunning mosaic that reflects the diversity and vibrancy of Brazil. The artist, Jorge Selarón, was a Chilean who dedicated his life to this project as a tribute to the Brazilian people. He transformed a simple staircase into a masterpiece of urban art and such beauty. The drinks and food on the way to the top were cheaper than downstairs. I love the Rio de Janeiro sign, The view from the top was breathtaking and I felt like I was part of a living painting. Escadaria Selarón is a must-see attraction in Rio de Janeiro. It is not just a staircase, but a symbol of passion, culture, and creativity. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves art and wants to experience the true spirit of Rio.

Overcrowded with a long line at the bottom just to take pics. Walking on toward the top is no better. Enjoy the paintings, don’t worry about trying to a good pic. Also on the bottom there’re a few streets with gangs of people that tourist should avoid walking in. Stick to the Main Street leading up to the steps and be aware of surroundings. This is a very unsafe area as I was almost mugged if without my fighting skills.

Nice piece of art of Rio the Janeiro city that you should visit during your trip because is a nice spot to take a photo, but don't expect something really amazing. I would recommend visit in the morning when it quiter, during the day is full of tourist taking selfies in every spot and at night can be a dangerous area.

I loved it because it feels different and special. It’s free to visit! I was amazed by how many people are there during the day. The area of Lapa is supposed to be a little dangerous but I found it perfectly nice and I spent the afternoon and early evening hanging out in a bar close by.

This is such a beautiful place but the security guards are a bit too much. They act as if they are guarding the Royal jewels. You cannot talk. You cannot sit. You cannot take photos. You cannot even breath. Calm down dude. You are not as important as you think you are. Talk about micro power going to their heads.

We took our children to see this exhibit. While enjoyable, the art portion that is, I found myself reminiscing about the 1970’s in New York, because almost all of the exhibits reflected the B-boy era, which ushered in the Hip hop cultural wave of the late 70’s, early 80’s. None of what I saw to that point was original art. However, after that. The twins showed their inner selves and the art show began to take form. It was enjoyable. Last day in Brazil, we were drenched in water but committed on exploring Rio, totally recommend this place if you wanna get mixed with the locals, it’s free entry and good place to take photos.

We visited the Inca exhibition. Lift to the floor was original and interesting. It was manually operated. Also a floor devoted to currency

The architecture of this building reminds me of the 1930s. There are even attendants in the elevators to take you from floor to floor. The Cafe Colombo here should not be missed. It is a small cafe with delicious pastries and different coffees.

An unexpected fun place. A culture central to be exact. There’s cultural activities, exhibitions, a store with fun and interring products and amazing coffee by Lilia. And it’s free for entry.

It's full of beautiful and mostly free samples. I recommend purchasing tickets to avoid waiting in line, however the lines are tolerable and only for a little while!

Nice architecture just not much to do to be honest. Luckily it is surrounded by other tourist sites. There is a small gift shop with mostly books and toys inside. There is also a lounge area, restaurant, and cafe. I believe they also have theater shows or at least they advertise for them. There isn't much other than that.

So impressed by the Centro Cultural! This beautiful center is free entry, and everyone should see it! I went today and found out Walter Firmo’s exposition, and it was highly impressing, and the way it was curated, gorgeous. The ladies from the elevators were super nice. I would come back!

Fantastic place, really gorgeous architecture and the interior. The elevator is the best. When I went there I visited the Ancient Peru exposition with the original Inca gold pieces. It was incredible and absolutely for free.

The museum is beautiful. The expo I attended wasn't amusing but the rest of the place is really nice. They have a café and a cowork area inside the building. The gift shop is a bit expensive but it has really cool stuffs, so I think is worth it.

Awesome museum with an actual concept. The exhibition makes to think about personal responsibility for the world's future. The space inside is a mix of modern art, scientific information and a digital museum. It tells the story of our planet and us and raises the question of whether we have a future with current trends. This museum is not boring and will be interesting for children too.

Such an amazing experience if you are interested in learning more about the earth and its environment. The planets, the things that compose it. Also a good place to take your instagram pictures of course. I will recommend going after you eat because it’s a large exposition and you spend a lot of time reading and exploring the features.

We were so excited to go here but what a let down. First the line to get in was about an hour and fifteen minutes. They only had one ticket person working selling tickets. Once your in there is not much going on inside or to see. I have to say the architecture is beyond they have done an amazing job but that's the outside. Take you pics outside and leave don't waist your money or time to go inside.

BUY TICKETS ONLINE! Will save you 15-30 minutes lining up. There is a separate counter for online tickets when you arrive. Lots of cool exhibits. Very simple layout - 4 exhibits in a straight line. Could spend as little as 1 hour here, up to 4 hours, depending how thoroughly you want to read the exhibits and learn about things. There’s also a special Amazonias exhibit right now, but all in Portuguese.

An interesting museum with great video art about earth preservation with english explanations too. A very unique building with a nice free park around it.

Its nice to see pictures of all around the world. The intro film is breathtaking. The position at the Guanabara is creative. A bit lacking are suggestions like: what should we do about it.

Simply fantastic. This is a must-go to the moment your plane (or bus whatever) arrives in Rio. Clouds and rain certainly do not fit into our imagination of what the "Carioca dream" should be. Do not worry though because once you visit this museum you won't worry about it anymore since the exhibition is so absorbing and memorable. As the museum's name already tells the main exhibition is about the future, our future. It is a wake-up call in the best style. The restaurant afterward is a plus you cannot miss. It’s an amazing museum of science and our earth. You can choose the language from English, Portuguese and Spanish for all activities. They have several experiential learning devices. It’s quite worth to visit there if you go to Rio de Janeiro. But if there is possibility to be crowded, it’s better to avoid going because you need to wait a long time to do their experience learning.

We went on a day when it was free entrance and thank goodness for that. I would have felt very cheated if I’d actually paid. I was surprised by the lack of creativity/lateral thinking applied to the entire exhibit. The architecture of the building is the only interesting part of the museum. It was really not much more than a series of computer screens and printed back-lit photos, which give information that you could easily just google from home. Honestly it’s not worth going to this museum, just go sit somewhere comfortable and google the basic science of climate change and the earths ecological destruction on your cellphone and you’d get the same info.

Very nice arquitecture, located at the port of RJ, downtown. It is very clean, comfortable, nice ambient and mood. Only a cafe at the entrance and a restaurante at the back (so full, as it is not very big, so we could not eat there). The theme is interesting, but maybe I expected another type of experience. When is very hot outside, here is a very nice chance to get some fresh air, clean restrooms. I recommend the visit. Check that certain day of weekday is free entrance ;D

Online booking and tickets required. They don't sell ticket in-stores. The museum is indeed futuristic and interactive and divided into 2 parts. The lower floor is about the Amazon and the upper floor focuses on the human aspects and artifacts. Make sure to prepare your vaccination certificates/ID

Design - iconic. Location - spectacular, exhibits - wonderful. Sadly, several people on the staff seem confused and it took us 20 minutes to leave the museum at the end. we were asked to go back, then, circle around, then go back again, then to wait in a long line for an elevator. The management has to Instruct everybody that customers need to be better served and guided, with a little more respect.

Very interesting museum with several activities to see and interact. Even though I must admit that they probably should invest in more devices to interact as there are a lot of people visiting the museum and the wait can be rather long sometimes (20-25min). But definitely worth a visit

This museum makes selective charges but the majority of people were admitted free. The building's design is beautifully airy and is a pleasure to explore. There isn't a great deal to see and explore so a visit with children could be completed within an hour but if they could be persuaded to sit and look then it could be so much longer. Several rooms are dedicated to different ecosystems and the equatorial forest is section is absorbing. It really makes you feel as if you are sat in the jungle. Kids particularly enjoyed the magnified insects.

Excellent museum with inspiring exhibits and informative interactive tablets to read more through the museum. The architecture is stunning and worth a visit just to see it along with the views of the sea. Make sure to get and register a card. Made it easy to update each exhibit to English and recorded what you’ve read and learned about so far.

This is a pretty cool modern museum that has all exhibits and multiple language including English. It cost 30 Rayeles per adult to enter. And then you can look at the different video exhibits this is more about video and seeing and not intricate exhibits with a whole bunch of signs you have to stand and read. There are also some vendors right outside you can buy beer and water and a venda area that you can buy souvenirs as well.

Exhibits are mostly audiovisual or screen-interactive. It's a series of halls/movies/structures that deals with different aspects of exploitation of the earth and future scenarios. I though too "earth focussed" and not enough on inter-planetary futures...so more of a doomsday prediction. Building is amazing and the technology of log-in and exhibits is good. Note: visits on TUESDAYS are FREE

It's a very interesting museum and with a new conception. There's a lot of science involved and accessibility as well. This is certainly a place to visit with family! The beautiful view is also a plus, enjoy it!

A pleasant experience. The exhibition is varied and remarkable. The only downside is the way visitors are crowded into different sections. It gets really busy on weekends. I suggest going on weekdays instead.

A well-maintained museum that aside from the beautiful architecture, offers a lot in its main exhibit showcasing the progression of human progress up until the current times and the anthropological impact that humans have had on the earth. They provide these Iris cards that help provide translations and make one's experience more interactive and meaningful. One of my favorite live sculptures is called Flows, an air fountain installation by Daniel Wurtzel. I would recommend spending 1-2 hours here. Tickets should be bought online in advance for a timed entry, but they can also be bought at the front desk. There's also a coat check room as well! Note that they have water filling stations, free Wifi, and clean bathrooms.

I enjoyed this beach a lot! There’s plenty of good places to eat within walking distance. You can also get food @ the beach of course. It was cool seeing all the water sports people were doing. My first time trying the “cheese with honey” it was so good!

I’m from Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 and we have very nice perfect beaches in Queensland. But here, they know how to truly enjoy and relax with live music and good drinking coconuts. Combine this with good company and honestly all your stress and worries fly away. Lovely place and lovely people. I would just add that the people of Rio need to honestly stop charging more for Gringos, Cariocas (Rio locals) 99% of the time always look to overcharge or get more money from “dumb” foreign looking people. Be careful. They try to sell you drugs on the beach. Don’t go near the Favelas. Trust my opinion, my wife is from São Paulo, and I’ve been to Rio twice.

If you want more space and less people asking to buy stuff, it's a better beach to stay at! Other than that a beautiful beach

One of the best beaches in Rio quite long and clean. Try to pick up a spot far from bus stops to avoid a crowded area. Parking sometimes and during weekends can be a challenge. Amazing sunset mood.

It’s a beautiful, peaceful beach! The beach was clean and the water amazing. There was a lot of waves and currents so we couldn’t get in too deep. Great beach!

Would give it 5 if it wasn't for my experience at the restaurant. The only way to enter inside the nice old building was to get a reservation at the restaurant. This includes if you want to take a 5 min pictures. However, you can enter the park and view the lovely caves, bridges, trees, exotic fruits (large jackfruit) and nice trails. Not enough benches, not enough washrooms for such a large place. If you are in a large group your experience will be better than me (restaurant will earn more on 2 or more heads). I lost 1hr to wait in line to receive a watsup message that will inform me when to enter. The lady told me 15-30min. A single lady was complaining she was not called and I feel she waited over 1.5 hrs. There was only shades to the worker (only 1 they can hire 2 or make the process way easier). I walked around for 3.5 hrs and no message. The lady apologized but did not offer me to enter as she did for the Brazilian women who complained. Anyways, if you are alone, don't bother supporting this business who doesn't respect its clients. Meals are expensive but I guess you can buy water for 9 reals. Just walk around the park and hope the greedy owners of the restaurent think of their single tourist and improve the ticket process and offer some decent shade for the 1hr wait.

More than I expected. The main building is the attraction that brings most people to the park but there was a long line when we wanted to go in. Behind the main building is a pathway up that leads to a very nice waterfall amongst other things to see. The park itself is free and very nice to take a walk. I actually prefered this park over the botanical garden.

The entrance is free, but you have to reserve a spot to get in days before. You can get there and say that you’re going to the restaurant and they place you on a waiting list for about 40 min. While you wait you can take pictures from the outside, it’s gorgeous and it allows you to take pictures from different angles of the mansion. Once you get in they lead you to the restaurant where you get to eat in the courtyard of the mansion. It’s very beautiful, but it can get hot. They don’t have any fans or anything to keep it cool, just umbrellas to sit under while you eat or drink something. My friend and I ordered the smoked salmon and and hamburger, but the meal was very underwhelming. It didn’t have a good flavor, the fries and bread were kind of stiff. It’s expensive and the food was bland. Wouldn’t recommend eating, just drink something so you can get in and then take the pictures. There is an exclusive terrace that you can access by paying something extra.

One of the most beautiful marvels in Rio de Janeiro. Make sure you book in advance or you'll have to go through the restaurant. The building is magnificent, the gardens wonderful to wander about, and the background absolutely astonishing. Can't recommend enough. There's also a hidden aquarium!
