By the time I visited in December 2022 they lift were not working so the only option to go up is by truck. Surprisingly it only takes 25min to get to the top and the ride is exhilarating! The drivers are very experienced and they know their way up and down in a road that is in relatively good condition. I highly recommend you go all the way to the Humboldt Hotel at the top of the mountain, walk around the area and enjoy the wonderful view of Caracas and La Guaira with the Caribbean Sea. Get a nice strawberry with cream and then head down to Galipan by either walking 20min or taking one of the trucks down (for an extra fee). Galipan is a wonderful little town where you can ride a horse, grab one of their famous cachapas or pernil dishes before you head back to Caracas. The same trucks you pay to take you up will also departure from Galipan so you don’t have to go back up for the return.

Whether you want to exercise, jog, walk, or simply relax on the grass during a beautiful day, Parque del Este is a truly unique place in Caracas with a privilege location and relatively well taken care to do it. You have lots of spots to have a picnic but also sport facilities and a small zoo. You can get by subway or car. You have washrooms and some places to buy food and drinks plus the informal street vendors. For your safety stay in areas that are transited and take advantage of the unique view of nature with the Avila mountain as a background.

It has been a while since I went to a public restroom and I didn't feel disgusted. It was pleasantly surprising to experience that level of care and cleanliness in a public restroom, I could pay more for the parking if they keep up doing that. The animals look good, they're renewing the birds section, there's a nice bicycle-skate area. I saw fewer vultures than last time, which was good because those were dirty and scary, in general it looks like money is finally being put in the right places in the park. All the pictures have my kids in them, next time I'll try to remember to get some landscape shots.

I am not clear if it has to do with the location, purchasing power of patrons or it just simply "l can afford to overpay..." and l don't care Let's face it 1 kg of potatoes is 1 kg of potatoes, why try to charge 4 times more for it? I am a true believer of free market, offer and demand. My feeling is that, other things being equal, they could make more money coming down to earth with realistic prices. Don't get me wrong. It's a nice atmosphere, vendors are extremely friendly and polite, but l doubt if I would choose this market for my day to day groceries.

Farm market is pretty good. Fresh vegetables, fruit, handcraft cheese, delicatessen, traditional spices, fresh eggs, chocolate products even you can eat traditional foods (like a food truck but it doesn't pretty good). You can buy some essential products like soaps, vegetable oils, shampoo, toilet paper, and other important items that you can't find in the shopping market but remember they have free market price. The vallet parking lot is free but you can give tip.

We did not have much expectations for the zoo, but were very pleasantly surprised. The entrance fee is $10 for everyone ages 1 and up and includes a little bag of carrots to feed to certain animals. We saw mini pigs, camels bunnies, flamingos, ostrich, snakes, monkeys, parrots, cows, ponies and chickens. We had a great time with the whole family and would definitely reccomend this place.

A very nice place to spend a different time, it's special to share with contact animals. You can find dromedaries, deer, goats, rabbits, cows, peacocks, among other varieties of animals. The place is not that big but it is very nice, they have a space to rent and have parties, they work with special children and do therapies with animals. There is no where to eat, there is a very small cafeteria and I think that is why I put four stars. You can feed the animals with carrots while you do the tour. It's a place that I would go again without a doubt, I love animals. The staff who work there are not very talkative except for about 2 people who spoke with us and were very friendly.

One of the highlights of my last trip to Caracas. A very well taken care contact zoo with an amazing background story and lots of animals to see. When you enter you are provided with a bag full of carrot slices so you can feed most of the animals (pay attention to the ones you cannot feed). Most animals are super quiet and get really happy to get their carrot. Bring confortable shoes and your phone full of battery to take beautiful photos.

Come rain or come shine, the Caracas' Museo de los Niños remains a bright spot in the city. There have been important efforts to update some facilities, and yet part of the interactive exhibits have such simple interactivity and deal with such basic principles that they retain their wonder and awe for children. Even in the digital age, they are timeless. Moreover, young parents might find newer attractions: for toddlers and kindergartners, colours and shapes; for kids and pre-teens, space exploration, the fight against drugs and the newly opened paleontology area. The museum's remains as a testimony of the extraordinary vision for childrens' development of Alicia Pietri de Caldera. ....... A full ticket goes for about 3$.
