Visited over years ago. Amazing tour. The caves were well ventilated and cool. The salt sculptures were beautiful. The attention to detail was very evident. Take at least half a day to enjoy the mine. An elevator will take one back up but the walk down the stairs is worth taking.

Much more interesting than I imagined. With such a long history too! We walked down about 50 flights of stairs and through various mined caves and connectors on our tour. Happy there's a shaft elevator to bring you back to the surface at the end!

Amazing experience! The whole atmosphere was great, it didn’t give me any feeling of claustrophobia and was easy to follow. We went there with our 2 kids, 9 and 7 years old who were completely excited from the moment we entered until the end, a bit more than 2 hours. A must see in Krakow!

The English tour was great, and the construction inside the mine is impressive to say the least. Be mindful that there are many stairs and some narrow passageways. A lift is available, for coming up as well, but stairs are the default when going into the mine. Can easily be reached by car or public transport. There is a lot to see in this mine, so I would recommend dedicating at least half a day for this activity. The tour can be run in many different languages, too. Overall, a great place for a day out near Kraków.

This was a very impressive experience. I saw a short video of this salt mine 7y ago on IG and wanted to go and visit. It looks so much more impressive in real life than in a pictures. This involves a lot of walking. Very busy all the time. The tour guide said during the busy season more than 80k people visit a day. When we went it was really busy and instead of having 2h tour it end up being 3.5 due to the tour group backlog. It was still an incredible experience though. Its over 250km of tunnels over there. A lot of sculptures craved out of salt look beautiful. There is a restaurant at the end of the tour, food was very nice. 100 % recommended visiting.

WOW! So much to say. It was a beautiful experience; our tour lead was absolutely perfect. She spoke with confidence and made sure that she phrased in a way everyone would understand. She even added some comedy to help keep attention; absolutely loved it. She also answered all questions we had and kept us up to date on how deep underground we were and where in the mine we were. She was very kind and definitely made the experience WORTH IT! But even then the views and things you see are absolutely mind blowing. The churches and waters within are beautiful.. and very salty!

We went on the miners route tour which was a fantastic alternative to the tourist route. About 3 hours. Our guide who spoke multiple languages was excellent. He had a great sense of humour and we all had a great time. Overalls and safety equipment is provided and there are secure lockers to secure your bags and belongings. We highly recommend you take this tour.

Quite demanding on your legs, but absolutely worth it. Our tour guide was excellent and provided so much information in a fun and accessible manner! It's actually incredible to consider just how large the mines are given how much you see, but that amount only constituting a small % of the whole mine. Definitely worth experiencing if you are in Krakow - it's easily accessible by train so no need to book a dedicated tour, just book your own ticket and ride on over! (If you're lucky, you can even get in on an earlier tour!)

We took a guided tour from Krakow which we booked well in advance. We were a small group and there was no waiting to get in. The tour took about 2 hours and there were about 500 steps to go down the 3 levels that are accessible to the public. Fortunately there is a small lift to take you back to the surface and it only takes 45 seconds. The Chambers and carvings were amazing. A must do tour for Krakow!

Fascinating/stunning. Very well organised and executed. The guide was really knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. Plenty to see and take in. Tip; stay on and do the museum tour. You go through a labyrinth of tunnels in a smaller group taking in the history of the mines along the way. You also get a trip back to the surface in an express elevator.

Fantastic tour. Our tour guide Renata was so entertaining and funny. The whole tour was a couple of hours but I wish it were longer. There are so many beautiful rooms and structures that I could stay there for hours taking photos. Highly recommend.

Incredible (and salty) experience! 130 meters deep below the surface in a 700 years old Polish salt mine isn’t something you get to do every day. The whole ordeal was made a lot better with a very talented and comprehensive guide taking us through it all. You get history, religion, architecture and lots more in one big, interesting package. The most fascinating part was probably the open chapel and balcony that is in fact being used for actual weddings, ceremonies and more. Without hesitation I’m sure most can conclude it is well worth a visit, even still for the price it costs.

This is a must go! The experience is really good, I do recommend a guide, although it will cost you a little more you can actually learn and understand purposes of different chambers and history behind it. The guides can be bought in town centre and a Sprinter picks you up from hotel. This is a full day activity, there is a restaurant and a shop down underground which takes cash. The most fun experience in my opinion are the huge chambers such as chapel as well as the lift. The lift is tiny 8 people and sometimes miners get on it!!! It is scary but exciting at same time!

It's 54 sets of stairs down (a lift is optional) coming back up there is a small modern mine shift you get in with 8 people it is a very tight squeeze. If you are claustrophobic it may cause issues.

Our tour lasted approximately three hours and our tour guide said we had only seen 1% of the mine. Learning about the history of the mine and the important part it played on Polands prosperity was very enjoyable. There are underground gift shops and a restaurant if you get peckish. The lift to the surface felt very sketchy, but was highly enjoyable.

Incredible venue. I didn’t expect such a place. The guides are very professional and funny. You can have a lunch or dinner down there as well. The history is very interesting to ear. The Graduation Tower is a relaxing place where you can chill and inhale the falling salt water. There is a nice view of Wieliczka, and the spot up is limited ( around max 10 people, so I can imagine it can be pain during the busy days ). You can visit it before or after a mine tour. Recommended to buy a ticket online together with the salt mine tour tickets ( which could be already included in it )

It's possible to be within the wooden walls and just breathe salty air to get some health benefits and relaxation but also to climb the tower and learn more about the tower itself on the photos displayed. Very unique structure, its made of stacked branches with salt water from the mine trickling down through the walls. The mist given off is supposed to be good for the lungs as you walk through. You can get a good view from the tower as well.

Not sure why this thing exists. It's mildly interesting for its architecture, but health benefits are over-started and non-existent. Went on a cloudy rainy day and the place gave me Auschwitz vibes.

But the views are well worth it. A tip. Buy your tickets back at salt mines entrance as a bit cheaper there. So glad we did this as we missed it on our 1st trip here.

After having cold like symptoms, I have visited this place and have spent the recommended 30 minutes walking around the structure enjoying the majestic scenery of the area. Following day I now feel as good as new quality mini spa... should said it's only 9zloty (£1.50) to enter

Not worth walking to. It's damaged and out of the way. Can't even make out what its supposed to look like. Would be cool to have someone re-paint it. Very cool idea.

We bought tickets for the salt mine tour but had an hour to kill and went for a walk. Found the square and the artwork there, had an ice cream and wandered back via the castle

I took my two boys for the simple rope track. It was quite nice, but the challenge was not very high for 9&11 years old boys. The staff were nice and communicated basic English. A place for a one time experience

Definitely a great place and very enjoyable. I took my 5-year-old here and he enjoyed it. It was perhaps quite a bit smaller than many of the other ones I've taken him to around the world. The one in Portugal is the last one he went to which features several different courses on different levels and over different natural features which really set the bar very high. At this location there is only one course for children. We were hoping there would be a few different levels or different options there's only a children's one and a much more advanced and higher adult one. I also believe that you have to pay per time. For example in Portugal you can go all day if you want. The one here is 20zl per person per time. It also is less safe for children than the one in Portugal. Over there there's a system where you never have to unhook from. Once you're tethered it will roll on the rail continuously without having to unhook. The one here close to Krakow you have to unhook frequently and hook back up frequently. For a 5-year-old child that's not exactly something he can do by himself. So you have to go with your child or have a guide supervise. The great thing about the one in Portugal was that he had the freedom to climb by himself and figure out the problems by himself which was quite a growing experience. So that was the only thing lacking here just the different system though we were used to. And I don't mean that in any negative way, possibly just some feedback if they ever update the system in the future. Or for other parents that might be interested in it and are not aware that they will have to supervise their children so that they can safely climb. Not to take anything away It was still a very enjoyable experience and glad we went there.

Interesting place to visit for only 18PLN. Prepare yourself for narrow and steep stairway, which is hard to walk by even for a healthy person. The ambient and the exposition brings you back to some other time period, while the view of Krakow is beautiful. The only downside is the staff whom seem uninterested for the visitor.

Interesting, but not too much to see. The tower used to be the town hall. Unfortunately, the balcony at the top is closed for visitors, so you can only get a limited view from the inside. Nevertheless, the view from the top is nice.

I don't really class this as a museum, particularly after just having come from the Rynek Underground Museum which is very good. It's as though they've tried to fill the three small floors between the ground floor and the top with some items to call it a museum. However most of the items are just copies, like the Mayor's ring or sceptre. There is some interesting information on display boards concerning Guilds in Krakow and class structure of society in the middle ages. Although the Climb to the top is only 110 steps, compared to 271 for St Mary's Basilica Tower, I found it much tougher because the step height is about twice that of the Basilica. You have a nice view at the top through glass window, you cannot get onto the balcony for safety reasons.

Very nice tower. Lots of information on notice boards on each floor. The steps are different depths and different heights, very narrow, have to bend back to not hit your head and sometimes there is a chain to hold onto but sometimes not. However if you take that into consideration, it is very nice and you get good views!

The tower is what remains of the town hall that once stood in the square. Its a fine building but not particularly impressive, though in former times it was topped a massive wooden gothic roof that was taller than the tower itself. Unfortunately that roof was struck by lightning, and burned down to a crisp. The tower hosts a restaurant, a bar a theater, a museum and an observation deck that can be reached for a fee.

A nice place to visit if you want to take a look at the area from above. Be advised that getting to the top is not easy as there are steps that are both narrow and slippery. It's also a shame that there is no balcony on the top.
