Birds of Eden was hands down the highlight of our trip. This Sanctuary is a experience like no other. A huge open air bird cage,and I mean like huge. My wife and I had so much fun walking through the Sanctuary and spotting birds and trying to check off as many birds as we could from our bird identification book. Beautiful indigenous forest with a plethora of beautiful creatures.

An absolute must see!! Take yourself, take your kids- it's amazing! Walkways through tree tops with só many species of birds flying over your head! It's stunning!

I am actually not a big fan of birds, but this place is well done. Beautiful jungle landscape with rivers, waterfalls, lakes, flowers, bridges and walkways under an enormous tent. Pretty birds. Much more natural than just a few birds in a Zoo. Really well worth coming here.

We took our family through on a rather wet and rainy day. The entrance fee is expensive and a walk through the sanctuary will last around 60 to 90mins. The walkways were great and the natural beauty was fantastic. We say a few species of bird but not as many as you'd expect. The facilities weren't great. The toilets were okay but the cafe was very poor. My daughter's really enjoyed being able to get close to the birds and the adventure of walking through tree tops. Overall very pretty and worth a visit.

My goodness! This aviary is amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed the time there. Make sure to buy the identification guide, worth it. The walk through the aviary was truly amazing.The sound of the different birds was like we were in the forest. The wooden boards really made it easier to take beautiful pictures of all the different species. We also enjoyed sitting down on the benches along the paths. Some of the birds are familiar to people and will come up close. The sanctuaries have combos you can purchase. We purchased a combo and it was definitely worth it. I will recommend this place to everyone I know.

A wondeful place to visit. Beautiful experience to walk freely between all the birds. An easy walk along the boardwalks. Wheelchair friendly. Just do not waste time to eat at the restaurant inside. Service is very very slow. Used up all our time we wanted to spend with the birds instead. Entrance fee is R350 per person. If you want to do Monkey land as well a combo ticket costs R590 per person. (2023 prices)

A spectacular place to visit! One of the best sanctuaries in South Africa with around 200 bird species freely flying in a very spacious closed aviary about 3 hectares large and up to 60 m high. Though the feeling is that it is larger since the walkway zigzag across the park on different levels. It is very pleasant just to stroll along the walkways and watch for the birds, or to sit on one of tens of the benches standing here and there. The bird reference guide is available at the entrance for R20, thus it is possible to determine any bird species you encounter. Binocular could be helpful, since the aviary is huge. There is a nice small restaurant inside with a good choice of dishes with many vegetarian options and very competitive prices.

The visit was an absolute joy with an astonishing range of exotic birds. No time pressure so you can get lost in the landscape and walking levels with a new sight at every turn. The free flight principle is fantastic both for the birds and visitors. Easily worth spending 2 hours absorbing the unique experience.

This is a must do activity in Plettenberg bay. There is a long but manageable walk down and back up the area on wooden walkways. No stairs. There is a suspension bridge to cross but it is easy. So many birds to see, if you don't get the perfect picture straight away, wait, you will see the bird again. Nice coffee shop at end with roosterkoek and other light lunches plus cold beer.

What a beautiful natural habitat, I enjoyed my visit at this place, I highly recommend it for people who want to have a relaxing peaceful time with family. Listening to the different melodies that the birds made in the morning when they woke up and during the afternoon when they returned to their nests was calming and very extraordinary, I can't even begin to describe the feeling.I believe its a once in a lifetime experience that everyone should try. If you need a weekend getaway just to find peace, this is the place to be, it's great all year round...

What an awesome adventure. We spent almost 4 hours here, in total awe. I could have stayed for another 4 hours easily. The birds and the walkways are awesome. Lots of seating allows you to sit and enjoy the sounds. No touching or feeding of birds is allowed. The small restaurant at the end was a bit disappointing - the fact that they only took cash meant that we couldn't eat there. At R350 pp, it seems pricey, but it was worth every cent. I recommend getting a guidebook (R20) and pen at the start so that you can identify the birds. Highly recommended.

A definite must visit when you are visiting Plett. They most beautiful place! Well maintained. Do not miss this place.

Expected to see a lot more birds than what we did. But the place is well maintained and clean. Beautiful boardwalk all around the park to see all the birds and just take in the scenery.

Birds of Eden is absolutely amazing, it's a massive forest covered with a huge net to keep all the amazing and beautiful birds inside. We especially enjoyed seeing all the parrots and macaws flying freely.

Tread softly, look closely into the foliage and you will be rewarded. We saw lots of birds, much more than expected. As the walk progresses, the number of birds increases and there were also some deer. Highlight was spotting Knysna birds and spoonbills.

So beautiful and breathtakingly awesome. Put out at least 3 - 4 hours. Worth the price! Well maintained. Took my breath away!

We have been to many bird sanctuaries around the world and this has been by far our favorite. So many beautiful birds! Our kids (9 and 12 years old) liked it way more than Monkeyland, which really surprises my wife and I. This is a must-see place.

One can see very beautiful "big cats" such as serval, caracal, lion, leopard and cheetah. We expected to visit the rehabilitation facilities and how local employees/volunteers take care of wounded wild animals but this is unfortunately not possible. The concept is actually to exhibit big cats to raise money to finance the rehab center which is not open to public. Our guide was good.

This is a great place to see the animal rescued as well as the resident birds and animal who will live thier lives here. It's a must to visit in the garden route as the cause, saving these animals is enough and they really need our support so for that alone, it's definitely worth a visit.

If you want to spot some wildcats in South Africa we can recommend coming here. You will only see animals which can’t live on their own in the wildness again. The other rescued animals are kept away from humans. For 260 ZAR you can book a tour where a guide tells you a lot about the animals and helps you spot the animals.

Peaceful and beautiful place. There are wild cats and birds(including meerkats). The tour is an hour long on foot and the tour guides are knowledgeable. A very beautiful and peaceful place. If you love nature or the wild , this will definitely be for you

It is a brilliant institution that informs greatly and helps injured or bad-treated animals! I can highly recommend it. The wildcats are fantastic animals that are almost extinct. The guides are very well informed, friendly and should be supported! Many animals are released back into the wild if this is possible.

Super time. We had a private tour in winter. Guide was lovely. Its so good to see how They care for these animals. We even went in to Some cages to see them really close by. Do go there and help them preserve the animals.

Kids loved it. Animals were well looked after and appeared in good condition. Really recommend it if you are in the vicinity.

We loved our tour with Boniwe yesterday, she was super knowledge about all the animals in the centre and was happy to answer our many questions. The animals are well cared for and we were lucky to spot nearly all the big cats! I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to do a game drive but doesn't have the time.

We spontaneously stopped here and had a really great time. We were given a private tour of about an hour and a half by Mzizi since we were the only visitors in the afternoon. I didn't expect to get so close to the animals. However, it’s always ensured that visitors behave respectfully towards the animals. Mzizi was a superb guide who passionately and humorously shared his knowledge. Highly recommended!

This was one of the best sanctuaries i ever visited. The enclosures of the animals are well taken care of and they have a big space. But to be honest what really made our day was talking to the staff there. Our guide was funny but he also knew his facts! Talking to other staff members we soon realised that everyone has put their heart into this sanctuary. It’s inspiring how much love they have for the animals. We talked to them for a long time and they were happy to answer every question.. detailed!! They don’t only care about they’re animals with passion but also make sure the people visiting get the best experience possible. I can recommend this to everyone. No matter if you are a animal lover who looks for a good adventure or if you just happen to pass by. Leaving the sanctuary i felt educated and more aware and that’s exactly how it should be. Stunning .. once in a life time experience that we will repeat if we ever return to this area of the world, the genuine compassion and caring for these animals by everyone involved shines through, a real privilege to have stayed here in one of the lion cabins .. and a great evening meal and breakfast outside provided by Davidson (not forgetting his lovely wife) ..

Excellent tour with an informative and passionate guide. They do great work here - sheltering some animals temporarily while they recover and then releasing them when they're better, and looking after some animals permanently which can't be released for whatever reason. They need support to keep going which means visitors and donations.

Exceeded our expectations massively! The guides are fantastic and we came away with a million facts about the animals and place. Would highly recommend a quick stop if you are passing through - took about 1.5 hours and was well worth it!

Such an awesome experience. We saw 8 of the 9 species of primates. The guides are knowledgeable, experienced and entertaining. Try to go during feeding times. Beware of the blue vervet monkeys. (P.s. the restaurant is horrible. Give it a skip. The waitresses are rude and lazy, the "Jane Doe" lemonade is Shwepps, the meat was raw, the food was cold and some people were already finished by the time other's food came. The waitresses are more concerned with their phones. They are dressed inappropriately...

Absolutely love any experience with animals. Do not expect to touch & hold the animals as this is stressful for them & not encouraged in the sanctuary. It was however lovely to watch them wander around freely & we were there close to feeding time to see even more of them.

So impressed! Tour guide VERY knowledgeable. So wonderful to see monkeys running around freely. They give you free mosquito repellent, put LOTS on. Recommended for all ages. Lovely cafe at beginning/end of tour to grab a snack.

Loved this experience so much. Our guide was well spoken and gave us all the answers to our questions. Very informative with the odd joke. Park is well maintained and clean. Monkeys are well looked after and spoiled as they say.

Since my last visit, a big change. Experience tour guide, who shared his knowledge with us and we saw all the different monkeys. A must visit, although there is a lot of mosquitoes, it is still worth the visit.

It's ok.. you get to see monkeys in open, it's an experience, if it's raining, don't think of going there, it's waste. You will find only few types visible. Also, it's slippery. If you still want to go, find a spot in sunny day.

It is a very informative place with an amazing variety of monkeys. The guide is excellent, and you really do learn about the animals and their habitat. It's a great place to take the kids. It is an interactive walk, so wear comfortable clothes and do not carry anything loose that the monkeys can snatch from you.

Absolutely brilliant, tour guide was informative, interesting and had a great sense of humour. Lots of monkeys and you are so close to them you could touch them. The monkeys are not in cages and can move around freely as they wish.

You'll definitely see a lot of monkeys. The situation in the waiting room was awkward, as we were kind pushed to give more money. Tour was cool, we learned a lot about the animals and you get close to them (better do not take sunglasses with you). Price for the tour was okay.

This place is great ! I just wish they would list that you should wear proper footwear, as it's muddy and you will slip in slide in your sandals and such. Also, put on mosquito repellent, I was in shorts and look like I have been hunted down by every mosquito at the park. I had been bite free during the Plett holiday 😂. Our guide Prince was very knowledgeable and made the hour walk feel like 10 Min. The highlight for my niece and I was were the Gibbons, we were lucky enough to have one have a snack by us and see her walk away which was ADORABLE

A most wonderful experience, getting close to the elephants and being allowed to feed and hug them. They are the most remarkable creatures, so gentle and so intelligent. This is definitely worth a visit and deserves all your support.

Guides are so friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. The tour is shorter than I expected it to be and felt a bit rushed. The overall experience is really lovely. It’s so rare to be able to be this close to elephants. They run off of positive reinforcement with treats. The gift shop is full on incredible options. Highly recommend picking up a few things here. You will not find this type of work in tourist gift shop places like the airport

My nieces enjoyed it tremendously, loved the interaction with the elephants and feeding them. They even bought elephant necklaces at the curio shop.

I’ve always wanted to touch elephants and I got the chance to be up close to them. Such lovely animals and they are supper huge. The experience overall was amazing 🔥❤️

What an awesome adventure walking with these giants. The Elephant Sanctuary cares for elephants that would not survive naturally in the wild. We were able to take photos & video, feed them, walk with them tunk in hand. The guides were fantastic explaining, showing and guiding us around these majestic animals. I can highly recommend the experience, especially for families.

Very careful and lovely treatment of the animals which were calm and had good manners. It’s a great project and rescue place for them. The animals are safe and used to people and it seemed like they enjoyed the contact with the visitors. We went on a „happy Elefant day“ (=rain day) and got coats to walk with the elefants through the forest and got a very lovely experience.

It has always been a dream of mine to be able to hang out with an elephant and experience their majestic nature up close. This place was excellent for that! We booked the brushing experience and walking tour with the elephants first thing in the morning on Tuesday. Our main guide was so passionate about the elephants and knew the answers to all my questions. I can see how some people may think this is touristy. In fact, a lot of people just come to these places to say they took pictures with an elephant and touched one. The guides at first seemed like they were just going through the motions with the routine of brushing, teaching, walking the elephants, etc. but once they saw I had a giant elephant tattoo on my forearm and genuinely cared about learning more about the elephants and less about the pictures, they warmed up to me. The time slot allowed of 1 hour does not allow you to truly connect with an elephant and observe their behavior, however, it does let you interact with an elephant, learn about their anatomy and behavior, connect with wonderful guides and feed them apples. As an elephant “novice” this place was exactly what I was looking for. If you’ve been to a bunch of elephant sanctuaries, going off other people’s reviews, it may be different than what you’re expecting. But the elephants are healthy, happy and the guides are truly committed to taking care of them (most of the elephant keepers + guides sleep with them every night to protect them from poachers), which to me, is wonderful. And I will remember their passion and the beautiful memories of Thandi, Marula and Jabo forever.

Super friendly staff. The experience is so amazing and the time went by so fast😍they will give you information about the elephants then they will introduce your own elephant to you and their name ,age..etc then you’ll walk with your own elephant and feed him😍also, you can purchase the video they recording to your group at the end. I wish if they provide “elephant ride” experience.

It was such a privilege to interact with these gentle giants. My wife was initially apprehensive but the calm, highly knowledgeable keepers ensured that she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Some conservationists suggest that humans shouldn't interact with elephants because the elephants find it stressful however these 5 beautiful animals clearly welcomed our attention, much in the manner that a pet dog or horse would.

Beautiful and fun place There are 5 elephants You can take pictures with the elephants, then touch them, then feed them, and the guide continued explaining them and giving orders. You can buy the video after the tour and they will send it to you by your email. There is a shop where you can take a souvenir of the trip. Every hour and a half there will be a tour if you come and it may start or you will have to wait for the next one 10/10

Very nice experience but I paid for the video, left an email and it’s been almost two weeks and I still haven’t received it, I tried to reach them by email, instagram and I even called them, they told me that the computer was broken and couldn’t send it… I’m still waiting for my video, or at least for someone to have the decency to offer me a refund

"Please do not go here. They try to pass it off as a sanctuary, but it's just a money-making scheme at the expense of these poor elephants. There are only five elephants on a small patch of land, forced to put on a circus act all day long. Every hour, they're paraded around for tourist photos, one after the other, with their trunks placed in tourists' hands, posing and walking for the cameras. After that they have to pose again for photos with tourists. Than three of them are forced to walk around holding onto eachother's tails just for more photo opportunities and the staff wants the visitors to applaud for this. And this goes on relentlessly, day in and day out. On their confined land, there's not even grass or bushes for them to graze on; they're fed like animals in a zoo. This is no life for them. It's clear these elephants aren't living their best lives - I even doubt if they were genuinely rescued or simply purchased for profit. We went in expecting to see happy, rescued elephants, but instead, we left feeling sorry for them. Within minutes, it was clear they were being pushed around by the staff. We refused to take part in any more photo sessions after seeing how they were treated. The staff constantly hound the elephants to perform, and the only time the staff crack a smile is when they're asking for a big tip at the end of the hour."

Was my very ever first time up close with these Beautiful Pachyderms as well for my kids…even touching them and standing so close to them makes you realise how small as a human you are…the whole family enjoyed the event and the Park is well looked after and maintained

Had an incredible time here. Steph and Darren, our guides, were super nice, funny and also really knew what they were doing. They manage to cater the canyoning tour to all guests, from the most thrill-seeking to the most anxious person, everybody had fun. If your looking for a some action, while seeing an absolutely gorgeous canyon I can only recommend this tour.

Once in a lifetime experience! This is something I would encourage everyone to do, the adventure, the fun, the beauty, the nature, the guides - ALL absolutely fabulous! We had Tebz and DK as our guides on the trip, and they were phenomenal - helpful, funny, full of interesting stories, and just brought such a good energy to the tour. The canyon tour is beautiful the entire way through, and between the jumps, the ziplines, and the swimming time just flies. It is such fun!

There is no better way to get up close and personal with the exquisite beauty of the Nature's Valley/The Crags area. Our guides, Tabs and King Julian, were professional and friendly and made us feel safe at all times. I love swimming and water sport, and this tour offers abseiling, ziplining into water and cliff jumping all in one. You don't have to be experienced in any of the latter; it was my first time abseiling and both guides were excellent with demonstrating first, and then keeping an eye on every step we took. Wetsuits and all safety gear are supplied, booties are to rent. I'd say if you're afraid of heights, this is not for you. And if not, go, go, go! There is plenty of time in the refreshing river water. I will definitely be back.

Such a great experience if you are looking for an adventure. I would have appreciated something to drink halfway as you get very tired and thirsty. Our tour took 1 hour and we were 9 people. Warren and Puna were both great. The pace of the tour is somewhat fast and you have to keep up, but the guides wait for you. Overall I would highly recommend this. Oh, pack your own shoes that’s got some grip!

Great experience that takes you out of your comfort zone with the best instructors and guides who not only assist you in every way they can but also go at your pace. Ask for Black 1 and King Julian, you will not stop laughing! Only critique is that the wetsuits should be checked for broken zips and better shoes would be great as the shoes provided had no grip. Gripped waterproof shoes would be better.

The trip was amazing! We were guided by Steph and Darren and they did such an amazing job! They were very friendly and made sure that all three of us were safe all the time. We went with our daughter of 9 and she also had an amazing time. This was one of the best activities we have done this holiday We would definitely recommend this trip for everyone who is visiting the area.

We had the best time Canyoning. Such a rush and amazing to try something new. Our guides Tebz and King Julian kept us safe and entertained. I'm not the fastest swimmer so Tebz literally towed me along at various points so I could keep up with the group. Highly recommend if you're in the Knysna or Plettenberg area.

Great morning filled with lots of fun. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our guides Warren and Puna kept us safe and laughing. Bring your own old shoes and the activity does require you to be somewhat fit. But they wait for you if you struggle to keep up. Would recommend! Enjoy!

What an awesome experience to kick off my birthday! We had a blast with Puna and Darren in a small group of 5. These guys made us feel safe and they genuinely love what they do, explain everything, and are a lot of fun. You should be fit to enjoy it. The canyon will reward you with beautiful scenery and refreshing water.

This was an amazing experience! Our guides Steph and Jules was the best ever! They where so professional and we felt super save with them. Absolutely amazing experience! Steph and Darren were spectacular guides, very knowledgeable about where every rock, nook, and cranny were in the canyon which made me feel very safe! They were also hilarious and very coordinated making the entire experience seamless and loads of fun! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! My first time canyoning and it exceeded my expectations. As someone who's afraid of heights, this experience helped me conquer so much! Africanyon was beyond my expectations. From the start it's an exciting journey. You always in suspense wondering what's next. Me and my wife had such a great time. And would definitely go again. Steph and Liam were amazing with guiding us, big shout out to that duo. Very Important to pay attention and always listen and do exactly what your guides says. if you do not listen you'll definitely miss the jokes. Amazing team Africanyon.

We went at 10 am. It was very hot and the animals were hiding in their shelters or the shade. 5 of the big cats we didn't see 😞 the guide told us that it was feeding time from 3pm, and then all the animals were out and active. So next time we will go at 3. It was still a very good experience all in all. The tigers gave us a good show 👌 Take water with. It gets HOT. Tour lasted about an hour

The family really enjoyed our time at Jukani. It is a bit pricey, but they are a sanctuary and taking care of beautiful animals. They also have a toilet half way, good for the little kids (and bladders).

We went at 10 am. It was very hot and the animals were hiding in their shelters or the shade. 5 of the big cats we didn't see 😞 the guide told us that it was feeding time from 3pm, and then all the animals were out and active. So next time we will go at 3. It was still a very good experience all in all. The tigers gave us a good show 👌 Take water with. It gets HOT. Tour lasted about an hour

We got so lucky and saw every predator bar the leopards. I was very impressed with the enclosures. Safety for both the cats and visitors. Lots of photo opportunities with the steps and viewing platforms. Clean sanctuary, friendly staff. We got a voucher for burger and fries and drink for 80R, it was declisious. Well worth a visit!

We bought the combo ticket to see all 3 parks. Was good to see some lions and tigers in a natural habitat and not completely caged up like in a zoo. Parks are well looked after (naturally) and the tour guide was informative about each cat in the park The honey badger 🦡 had me with his running in circles . Do cute and jolly

Elvis was our guide and he was an absolute gentleman. He kept us entertained with his stories and knowledge about the cats. The sanctuary does great work and they are well worth the visit.

Loved it!! Was an amazing experience seeing and hearing big cats. Our guide was Elvis. He's amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable and a great sense of humor. Great gifts for sale. Restaurant with great coffee, food & snacks.

The family really enjoyed our time at Jukani. It is a bit pricey, but they are a sanctuary and taking care of beautiful animals. They also have a toilet half way, good for the little kids (and bladders).

I am a fan of seeing animals in an open environment or close range. Both of such experiences were not available here. The reason is, this is the shelter of rescued animals. These are wild beings who were kept captive since birth.. you get to see and know a few things with the help of a guide, but doesn't not feel adventurous while visiting this place.

Our family really enjoyed the visit to Jukani! They are doing a great job and the guides are very knowledgeable! Hayden made the tour very enjoyable!! We will even go again when we are in the area!

It was amazing to see these animals. We were there just before feeding time and the big cats was walking up and down the fence. It was exhilarating to hear the roars of the big cats. One doesn't realise how big these animals truly are. The animals are well fed and looked after. There are information boards at each cage, some of the animals are under veterinary supervision. There is an option to take a guide with you. They are also busy with upgrades and there are a few figures coming to the sanctuary in July.

R342 PP at Jukani and you can use the ticket the whole day. What a gr8t place to visit exceptional friendly staff. Excellent service. The guid knows everything about wildlife and he is very friendly and helpful and professional. Definitely a place to visit.

We were a bit disappointed not being able to see much. When we got half way a friendly man working there must of seen our disappointed in the scorching heat and said its best to come during feeding times as the animals anticipate meal times and come out waiting for their food. That was kind, but also a bit late to tell us. That info would of been appreciated at Reception where we paid close to R1000. Other than that I can understand the cost because of the upkeep of the grounds and the feeding of the animals.

Best Animal Sanctuary I've ever been to, beautiful and unique animals..friendly staff, a must see!! Lions,tigers, pumas,jaguars, hyenas, birds,animal farm,etc..alot to see, all packed into a 1 hour walk..nice gift store

A good walk with a friendly and very informative tour guide (Hayden). This type of sanctuary is not uncommon and is needed in today's world. They're doing good work here at Jukani. If you feel uncomfortable (or triggered, to use a better word), speak to your tour guide about the animals. Ask him/her where the animal came from. While the park is small, it is certainly not a tourist trap and it is certainly not expensive. From someone who has been to many zoos, reserves and sanctuaries, what stood out for me was the knowledgable tour guide; I learnt quite a bit from him. If you're in the area, it's not a bad way to spend about 90 minutes.

Wow, what a wonderful place to visit. We saw beautiful tigers, lions, jaquars, and wild dogs. The guide has a lot of knowledge and makes the tour interesting.

After a couple of days in the local area, we popped into Jukani and joined a guided tour for a look around this wonderful wildlife sanctuary. Our guide Elvis was fabulous. He took us around, enclosure by enclosure helping us to locate and observe each animal, telling us all about them. It was incredibly interesting, and sometimes sad to know why the animals were there, but it's clear to see they are receiving the very best care in as natural environment as it's possible to keep them. We are huge animal lovers, esp big cats, and often visit zoos back in the UK as it's the only way to see these wonderful animals. However, Jukani doesn't feel like a zoo. Elvis is very passionate about the animals, and the respect he has for them is clear to see. It was a wonderful experience, and we would love to go back, and to visit the sister parks someday. Also, the gift shop was fabulous. We bought t-shirts and all our holiday gifts there, lovely selection. Thanks, keep doing what you're doing!

What a great experience! Snakes have always been very scary to me, but after this educational and fun experience, I feel like I understand them much better now, and I’m less afraid. There are really a lot of different types of snakes to see here. Our guide (his name is Ken), was amazing: He was funny, charismatic and very smart. He gave us a lot of information, but it never got boring. We learned a lot of interesting things, and we asked lots of questions, which were all answered very well. At first I was very scared to touch a snake, but in the end it was a lot of fun. Before we went, I thought that it was maybe a bit expensive, but after going, I can definitely say that it is worth the money. I would definitely recommend going here. I also think children would love it.

What a fantastic place. Conor showed us around and he was very engaging. His knowledge of snakes is immense and he was fantastic at explaining to 3 kids under the age of 5 what each snake was etc. I’m not a fan of snakes but he was great about that as well. Keep up the good work

This was an amazing experience due to the amazing guide we had. Would definitely recommend if in the area. Good chance to interact with snakes and work out any fears thereof. There are some crocs as well. Take a picnic basket with as you're welcomed to stay for the day. Value for money? Checked

Our guide was great! He made the tour fun with his sence of humor and bright personality. We got to hold several snakes and pet a monitor lizard. Learning about each of them and being able to see them close up was awesome! The tour takes about an hour is a definitely worth it

Amazing. We loved every second of the guided tour. They explain so much and there's a lot you can learn. They have a lot of different snakes to see which makes it even more worthwhile. Would 100% recommend.

My wife brought me here to help me get over my fear of snakes. This Sanctuary is educational and they try to make a personal connection between humans and snakes. It was a great and educational experience with a scenic hike to boot. We had a knowledge guide that was great with children. Was pretty cool to see a gaboon viper and a king cobra.

Amazing experience, they have a wide variety of reptiles kept in enclosures with big open display windows. The guides are very knowledgeable and engaging.

Plenty of different snake species to see and even to touch, from harmless to very poisonous, and from tiny to large. The guide told us about all this snakes in details in a very amusing manner. It was also possible to take a python into your hands. A good place to bring your kids with. There is a pony they can ride. A small restaurant is available on site. A great place to visit in the Plettenberg Bay area.

Awesome guided tour where you will learn a lot about snakes. My takeaway is you will only really get bitten if you step on one or hit them. Lots to learn and love about them and fun to see and handle a few constrictors. Well worth a visit.

Delicious wine tasting in an intimate grassy courtyard right by the vines. The full tasting experience (4 wines) costs only R80 and all wines tasted fabulous, especially the 2017 Brut. We shared a vegetarian pizza (a lovely flatbread that was yummy & light). Our waitress was friendly and caring and so was Happy, our sommelier.

An incredible wine farm that should be on the to do list of every person visiting Plet. Of the best white wines in SA with very incredibly tasty food at reasonable prices!

Exceptional friendly welcome. It was cold and rainy, but we were warm and snug with blankets and a gas heater since seating close to the fireplace was taken. We did their wine tasting which included two diverse MCC's. Their 2022 Rosé was delightfully crisp and light while the Sauvignon Blanc of the same vintage was smooth and elegant. We had the Salmon Pate & Shards to share which complemented the wine beautifully. Lots of displayed history with a view over the vineyards. Would love to visit again.

The menu doesn't offer much. Ridiculously expensive dishes. Vegetarian platter for two cost R250.00 and wasn't enough for one. Ordered two extra flat bread which was charged R30.00 each That dish ultimately costs R310.00. We're local people, and unfortunately, Newstead didn't cover themselves in glory. Sorry, Newstead, but your offerings are not good. They were very busy today, but your menu is basic and one of your dishes wasn't even available. Better to only accommodate the patrons you can cater for!

A must if you are in the Plettenberg Bay area. Our favourite Wine Estate in the Southern Cape. Countryside view. Super friendly staff. Not a large selection of wines - the Sauvignon Blanc and the Cap Classic on par with the best of the Cape Winelands. Menu caters for everyone's taste. They offer pizzas, flatbread and our favourite - wood fired roast chicken with roast potatoes and a lovely fresh green salad.

Le Toya is an incredible ambassador for this Estate Restaurant. Her recommendations for the Loaded Flatbread with lamb and tzatziki was delicious. Her warm, friendly and highly efficient service was a delight. Her chocolate sponge cake is the lightest and most sublime chocolate cake ever tasted. We come here year after year for this! The Newstead Cap Classique a must for our collection each year when released! Found the 2018 Rose’ to be the one this time! Thank you La Toya, the Newstead chef staff and this incredible gem of a Wine Estate! Plett isn’t Plett without a stopover here.

Joined my wife for the first time going to a spa. Tiaan was the perfect host. Great location and atmosphere. Abo and Jo looked after us for our couples session and they were absolutely wonderful. Very respectful and knew what they were doing. Great first time experience. Lunch was also delicious.

My boyfriend and I went for a spa day and we had the most incredible time. We highly recommend the couples hot spa treatment, lunch is included. If you are looking for a peaceful espace this a Balinese style spa is a must.

We’re from london so have been to some nice spas but this tops the list for the location (in a dense forest) service and treatments quality (by Abongille and Josephine who know the property history having been there so long) and interior decor - simply beautifully designed. Set in a beautiful location which can be quite a mission to drive to... Although once you get there it's well worth the drive... Wines are wonderful... But the setting is stunning...

Lodestone opened their tasting room in 2017 and today they have 6 wines for you to taste from R10-R20 a tasting. The tasting room overlooks a lake which is absolutely beautiful! There’s an indoor area with fireplace too. This tasting room is also a restaurant so you can expect a selection of platters, a meal of the day and cakes. Lodestone is one of the wineries in Plettenberg Bay that has their own cellar on site.

Absolutely top drawer lunch and Pinot Noir. We chose the tuna and fillet lunch options which were delicious and good value. Tranquil picture perfect setting. Excellent service under new owners. Enjoyed a short drive out of the hustle of Plett to this gem! Will be back soon.

Did a wine tasting trip on a horse drawn carriage. Good wines, olives & olive oil. Lovely view overlooking a lilly filled pond. Fun for the family

Lovely remote setting, accessible via dirt roads. 2016 Strandloper Sauvignon Blanc was the best wine we tasted.

Really a peaceful Place. We had the vines and the cheese platter with olives. Definitely an upcoming estate around Plett. Go for the Sav Blanc 2016 if you can.

Had a super 2 hour trail ride in December. Picturesque environment with polo fields and paddock filled with horse everywhere!! Went up the mountain, in the forest and had a fun little canter in the fields. The horses were very good at keeping us all safe through the mud and over bridges-

Located in a lovely scenic part of the forest...this wonderful experience is truly amazing...I have never ridden a horse before & this was a truly amazing experience...it cost R1000 for 2 people for an hour but it's very informal...every step of the way was explained to us by our excellent guide...we first did an easy ride past beautiful pastures then went into the forest as well as did a bit of a sprint...my horse was gypsy & she was a bit restless but the guide explained to be assertive otherwise she takes advantage...but what an experience...I would recommend the 1 hour if you a beginner as it gets uncomfortable sitting in the saddle too long...

Fabulous experience! Robyn is so patient with beginner riders and adept at matching horses with the temperament to suit their riders. Incredibly scenic trails. Now known as Kurland Park Horse Trails, this is one to come back to do again!

Had an awesome experience with the horseriding. The trail is very scenic, traveling through plains and the indigenous forest. Our guide was very helpful in explaining to us how to manage the horses (seeing i have almost no experience with horses). The horses are well trained and myself and younger sister enjoyed our ride allot. The staff are very welcoming and take good care of you, making sure you are safe on the trail and in their safety briefing. Don't forget to ask about giving the horses a treat as apples are provided at a extra cost, but well worth it. The experience is definitely one of the highlights on our trip. Highly recommend 👍

Hogs Hollow Horse and Carriage is now Kurland Horse Trails. My Daughter and I went on the two hour trail with Robyn and we had an amazing experience. The horses are excellent and the trail through the natural Forrest is an experience like no other. Highly recommend it.

Great place. Guides very friendly. Horses well looked after. Trails are beautiful. I went on an hour's walk out w my daughter and husband (we didn't realise it was a walk out when we booked). When one of the guides (Owen, from Zim) found out we could ride he quickly arranged for us to do a little trot so we weren't 'bored'.

We booked the Picknick tour and it was absolutely fantastic. We had such a great and lovely guide called Collins! We ever kept an eye on us and our safety. My wife is a pro rider and I am an absolutely beginner but that was never a problem because of Collins. We had much fun together while we were out. The Picknick at kurkland was awesome and we had time to relax. We saw so much like forest with monkeys, ranches, vineyards, polo fields and that big stable. We really enjoyed. Thanks to Collins and the team!

We attended a wedding reception there. It was a fantastic wedding, a great venue for a wedding. The Rustic ambience is wonderful. Highly recommended.

Welcomed the new decade in watching 1925Band on NYE. Amazing production, well done on hiring this excellent band! Delicious pizzas too! Can’t wait to return next year :) Fantastic facilities; except the men’s bathroom light was out.

They have regular events and I am told it's really something for your social calendar. They support local artist and you can bet on a fun night. It is cute and rustic - just big enough for laughter to fill the room. There is ample parking on the grass, but it's best to come early. There is enough seating for a reasonable crowd and a balcony that adds a third dimension.

We love the Barnyard ! We are so lucky to live nearby and go often ! Mel Botes is a great musician and his wife Jeanne who runs the Barnyard is a a charming and caring hostess. (and great fun !) They arrange fabulous shows with great attention to detail. You can bring your own picnic or get order a delicious pizza. Just NEVER bring your own drinks as they have a full bar licence and are very well stocked with good wines and all other drinks ! Prices very reasonable and that's how they make a living so be fair folks !
