An impressive castle worth a visit. The Bojnice Castle is an almost fairy tale type of castle in the gently sloping Slovak hills. It has plenty of towers, terraces and a moat. You can visit and follow two consecutive tours of several beautiful state rooms, apartments, halls… many decorated with period furniture and paintings. The chapel is a highlight with a beautiful altar piece. You can park in the village, a short walk from the castle. There are many restaurants and bars nearby.

Hands down one of the best tourist attractions in Slovakia. There’s a great ZOO very close by and a cacti botanical garden. Best time to visit is start of May, when the actors are there and the market as well.

We visited Bojnice castle on the first Wednesday of the month ( which, thanks to the Slovakian Department of Culture, is free... we had a guided tour showing all the key points. My only complaint was that it was entirely conducted in Slovakian Language, and sadly, we did not understand a single word... as you will see from mine and other's phototographs, this place is truly magical! I would highly recommend anyone to visit. ( if you can arrange it for the first Wednesday of the month, your visit will also be free!! )

I loved every bit of the tour. The price is reasonable, tour guides are really attentive, nice and helpful. The tour was easy to follow and interactive boards were an interesting way of how to learn more about the castle history. Really enjoyed my visit and can’t recommend it enough.

The most beautiful castle in Slovakia is here. Every time I went here I was satisfied and I'll go again. Any season any time is always worth visiting the castle. Parking cars around could be sometimes challenging and especially during the daytime of weekends or some days offs but when I was there at the sunrise time it was all good. Thank you 🤩

Princess castle in a superior form. Very well maintained (even though it is not that old). Great tour around the insides with many rooms to explore and a cave underneath to visit. Overall I would recommend this highly. Make sure to take a walk around the castle from outside to gaze upon the beautiful towers and spires!

The castle is stunning and breath taking. The downside is that you walk 5000 steps up and down throughout the whole 90mins tour. The tour is difficult for kids, elderly or pregnant but no one will warn you when you are buying the ticket. Also there is a limited capacity of visitor that can enter and entry happens only every hour, and if you do not buy a ticket as soon as you get there, you might not be able to enter as the tickets are usually not available 30mins before entry hour. Also tour is only in Slovak language. There is no place to rest apart in 1 room. This castle seriously needs and an investment into a lift. It is definitely worthy to visit as the exhibition contains items from personal collection of the historic owner of the castle. And he has collected stuff from Middle East, Asia and all around Europe.

A single-day excursion from Bratislava provides ample time to explore the area. We opted to purchase castle tickets online in advance, although we found the €15 admission fee slightly steep compared to our experiences at other castles.

One of my favourite castles and definitely one of the best-looking ones in Slovakia. There are always some activities to do in the area and if you have time, take the full tour around the castle. Recommend :)

One of the nicest castles Slovakia has to offer. Easy to spend a day or a weekend with the Zoo and swimming pool right next to it. The food in the restaurant outside was rather disappointing but the exhibition of the castle made up for it. Be aware that there are two standalone exhibits so make sure you know which one you are going for. We bought both and were able to do them.

Had the misfortune to visit it during kids week. As a foreign tourist in slovakia this really was a bummer. The tour was adapted for kids only, with some sort of a story (everything was in slovak language, nothing against it just describing my personal experience). My only complaint is that there should have been alternative tours at different hours some for kids and then later the regular tour. I had no options than do the kids tour and listen to slovak fairytales or wait 5 days untill this event was over. Also, the waiting time was crazy long (around 2 hours). They did the tour with around 60 people / turn. 60 people its a lot for some of the small rooms, you feel like a sardine in a can in some rooms where everyone stops to listen to the story (you have to move in group). The castle looks good, its very pretty and modern for a castle. Has an interesting Disney vibe to it.

Absolutely stunning castle. By far my favorite one I’ve visited in Europe. My local friends took me here and it did not disappoint. I believe the tour is mandatory, but I could be mistaken. Very well preserved and reconstructed where needed. Pay to park. The grounds alone are worth the price of admission. THIS IS NOT A FAKE REVIEW GOOGLE, HENCE THE PICTURES. Incredible castle with average staff. The place itself is well worth seeing, fascinating old collections and well decorated rooms. Only let down was the lady checking tickets on entrance, and the tour guide, who (though knowledgeable), both spoke to people as if they’re an irritant and are stupid.

Bojnice Castle is truly fabulous, probably the most photogenic and most visited castle in Slovakia. The first buildings of the castle appeared in the 9th century, which were made of clay and wood. Then the castle changed a lot of owners, and there are a lot of dates of the names of the owners in the internet, what they did with the castle. Also, clay and wood gradually changed to stone. The Castle got its present (almost present) appearance during a major reconstruction during 21 years at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The castle is surrounded by a moat filled with water. Now this very beautiful castle is sometimes used for filming fairy tales. There are Excursions several times a day. Excursions are quite interesting. Entrance costs 13 euros for an adult. The Castle can be visited for free first Wednesday of every month. Parking is large. Cost is 7 euro for whole day. Unfortunately, I couldn't enter the castle for indoor tour. So I decided to walk around and gaze on the amazing landscape and design and display of ventures and artifacts for tourists. At the rare, you could see a pond with different fishes which you can feed if you care to share or spare some feed (some tourist did). Most importantly you can go there with your kids to have an amazing time as you explore the history and the cusines in the region.

An amazing castle straight from a fairytale! We also spotted some turtles and fish in the water surrounding the castle. Highly recommend visiting, we only took photos from the outside and were very happy with only that. Much better option for those people not wanting to visit the inside and only looking for beautiful photos from the outside than compared to the Orava castle. Parking near the castle is quite expensive (roughly 10€ or more), so recommend parking further away from the castle on a local street and then walking a few hundred meters through the Bojnice square (Namestie Bojnice) to the castle.

Its nice to see the place evolve. Each visit there is something new. The new area for elephants is looking great and we would definitely visit again. Too bad that the bird show was outside the zoo in different area.

Firstly it's really good business so prepare some money if you want to go there, because there's a lot of thing that you can buy. Many animals, there's a kid zoo too, and they have elephants so that's big + from me buuuut they don't have giraffes so that's - from me. It's beautiful there and it's in beautiful forest so it's not that hot there.

Good place to spend some hours with the family. The new elephant enclosure is a great addition to this ZOO, but it seems like the bigger cats have way too little space to walk/play around which is not good for such animals. Hopefully it will be the next upgrade.

Mid-sized zoo, which we have enjoyed. Unfortunately we were not able to see some of the animals like elephant, gorilla (maybe there is no gorilla in this zoo) and chimpanzee. I recommend to visit the zoo in early hours during hot summer, otherwise you won't be able to see some of the animals as they might be hidden inside. There is a bistro with some fast food. Also you can find there a coffe and ice cream stands.

The entry price is very reasonable and overall it was a good experience. I take two stars away as there was a lot of empty cages where there were suppose to be animals and some cages did not appear well kept. It is also far to walk (over 2 hours) so renting electric scooters can help visitors and be a source of additional income.

The Zoo is worth visiting. It is quite big and landscape around it is very beautiful. Also you have a great view on the famous Bojnice castle. We especially liked the new housing of the elephant's.

This zoo is specific for caring of the elephants. They have changed their area. Elephants have more space and they are also further from the people than 3 years ago. We enjoyed the fight of the bears, red panda, orangutans or guarezies and many others. Also children had fun with goats and enjoyed time at the eating and relaxing area at jumping tiger or some other kid stuff. Do not miss this zoo!

In overal positive experience for a visit with kids. Staff on the entrance was friendly and answered all our questions. You can find several activities for kinds on the path, small playground, shops with souvenirs were closed. There are educative boards along the path but you can't enter the cave which was a big disappointment. You are done in 1-1,5 hour. In overal the price is higher for such an experience.

Very informative signs, in English. Good for kids to practice being cavemen throwing sticks, pine cones and rings along the route.

Definitely recommend excursion during night! Great atmosphere in the darkness lit only by the torches, feeling much more like in the stone age. I've returned there also during day to catch up on few items possible only during light (like throwing spear to mammoth or barefoot walking) and in both ways great experience for both young and old.

There is no access to the cave, and not so much to see. It is good for children. Price is so high.

Well, on website is written : be there at 20 00pm. We have been there but nobody shows. I guess it is closed od nobody cares cares anymore.

It's not a museum, it's just terribly executed playground for kids.

Spa itself and saunas are not too bad, but the pricing model is super annoying, you're paying for each service separately, they don't have a pass for both sauna, pools and gym, the sauna is time limited, if you stay longer, they'll charge you extra fee. There is no customer parking, just paid parking that coincidentally belongs to the spa. Customer service is also quite poor.

Lovely place with good hot water inside and outside. Possibility to walk around. Not far from the town an Zoo garden.

The spa is fantastic. Not really cheap though. One gripe, the bar doesn't open until 2pm.

We were not able to eat in the evening, but otherwise there is a shop and 2-3 cafes. There was a guesthouse with a restaurant nearby, the city center within a few minutes by car. Dostali sme darčekový poukaz: pôvodne do iného objektu, po miernych komplikáciách s rezerváciou - asi zmena prevádzkovateľa jedného objektu, nám bolo (tesne pred pobytom) ponúknuté náhradné ubytovanie v inom objekte kúpeľov. Po miernych obavách sme na mieste zistili, že sme v krásnom kúpeľnom dome, ďalej už nebol žiadny problém. Areál je nádherný, obrovský, kopa kvetov, jazierka plné života, 2-ročná dcérka by pri nich strávila naozaj kopu času. Mali sme detskú postieľku zdarma, raňajky boli pestré a chutné s trošku staromódnym systémom fungovania, ale to asi kvôli množstvu hostí a režimu v kúpeľoch. V areáli sme sa nevedeli večer najesť, ale inak je tam obchod a 2-3 kaviarne. Blízko bol penzión s reštauráciou, centrum mesta do pár minút autom. Manžel využil posilovňu, otvorená bola len kratšiu dobu, ale veľmi dobrá. Nekúpali sme sa. Ďakujeme a niekedy sa radi vrátime.

Veľmi dobre položené miesto, uprostred lesa, čistý vzduch a vôkol je kde si sadnúť a kam sa ísť najesť. Zamestnanci ochotne poradia a nasmerujú. Vnútri v bazénoch je viac druhov liečivej vody. Keďže kúpalisko aktuálne nefungovalo, tak plne ho nahradili kúpele. Areál veľmi pekný, všetky kúpeľné domy vyzerajú úchvatne a čisto. Ceny sú trochu premrštené, pre 2 osoby bolo 20€ na len jednu hodinu, čo mi príde trochu moc, aj keď na druhej strane je vidno, že do kúpeľov investujú a starajú sa o ne. . a 15 minút na prezlečenie.. keby vstup stál aj viac no bolo by to na niekoľko hodín alebo neobmedzene, tak by som nič nepovedal. Zato aj tak by sme sa sem radi vrátili a určite sa aj vrátime :) a vrelo odporúčame.

We were lucky to be completely alone on the trail, nobody around and the atmosphere with snow and incredible sunshine through the clouds was just stunning. It's worth a visit, but as others mentioned, I think €10 per adult is bit too much, especially with together with the €3 per hour parking fee. Not to mention the dinopark and view point on castle is closed during the winter and there is no other access to the view point - sure you can spot the castle from the top of the observation deck, but it's bit far than the regular view point east.

Lovely little tree-top walk with stunning views around the valley and over the town, including the castle. I personally find 10 euro a bit too expensive when you also add the parking cost of 3 euro per hour to it. It takes you about 5 minutes to reach the top and that makes your trip minimum 10 minutes if you don't prevail at the scenic point.

Today we have been here for the first time and that for the event, not to climb the tower. The place is really nice, we liked the woods, walk, perfect play grounds for kids, all was great till the first horrible experience in the restaurant! We didn’t mind spending those millions for lunch of 5 people but we also expected something in return, obviously food! What we got was mostly the joke of the owners or god knows what. Portion that my 2 y old baby could eat whole by herself in price of 10 euros! Unbelievable. We tried to complain but waitress was pretending not to see us and manager (or another waitress?) just turned away that we should talk to the other one. Horrible experience. Toilets are 1 euro person. So if you go with 3 kids prepare budget for toilets as well. Dino park was good, nice, we enjoyed. But then again our mood got off paying extreme amount for parking… So we went for the event that was promoted as FREEEEEE all over internet and ended up spending millions on stupidities that you don’t even expect to pay for. Such a shame and pity! We would love to come back again and again and spend money or real value able things but now we won’t. I just hope the owners are reading these reviews so they can think about how business works and try to get their customers to be regular. Looks like no one cares there.

This is an enormous tourist trap with all bells and whistles. And yet, it's perfect for a family afternoon. The park surrounding the lookout tower features several food stalls with plenty of seating area, as well as several playgrounds and an adventure course for kids of all ages. My kids certainly weren't bored even after half a day here, and I could enjoy a quick lunch and a few of cold drinks. Just be aware that in rainy weather, everything here is shuttered (as we learned the next day we wanted to revisit).

Very nice attraction with a large playground for kids. There are several refreshment stands and a restaurant. You need to pay for parking + entry for the view platform (1x adult 8,- Eur / 1x kid 5,- Eur ... parking 3,- Eur for 1h or 12,- Eur for whole day).

This would be a fantastic place once it is completed. They are already charging full price despite being fully completed. There are health and safety issues here which have not been adhered to. Apart from that the views from the elevated tower is amazing. The owners needs to make safe areas for public and not concentrate on making money at this point in time. A great place for family and friends once it has been completed.

What an amazing structure and experience. It is easy to climb as there is a wide walkway. The price is very reasonable. The view is unbelievable and there are restaurants. Loved it ❤️

This place offers qreat view of surronding area, but it's hard to get there with car - you need to park in Bojnice and from there you need to walk about 40 minutes. Once you get to the tower, the tower itself looks great, but everything around looks like a construction site. Entrance fee is quite high - 8 € for an adult. Overall, great view but expensive and hard to reach.

Quite expensive for family. Parking overpriced food overpriced better bring own food. Life guard on mobiles most of the time. Slides still not working.

Since 3 years under construction to be transformed into a wholesome aquapark, but asking for a hilarous entry fee. Also foodcourt is to be ashamed of. For 100 gr fries 7 eur and waiting for about 30 mins.

Poor value for money. The slides are out of order. Also small pools out of oreder. Borders with unsighly abandoned construction sites on two sides. Aggressive visitor notes with way too many exclamation marks make you feel unwelcome, just tolerated. The positives - mature trees, castle view, ok big pool.

This is one overpriced place! It is only two pools. They are still finishing digging around so it is not relaxing at all, water slides are closed, only one place to eat at and menu is very poor plus truly expensive ,double the prices of any other lidos. Carpark was 12 euros!! And you can only pay cash!!! Wouldn't recommend at all.

It's clear that there is reconstruction going on, but that did take away from the comfort. As did the places where we could leave our bags. A lot of the features for the newer pool were not working which limited the experience, however I appreciated that it never felt busy as well as having a relaxing vibe

Staff was very nice and helpful. Also reservation we did via website without any problems. Outside they have some simple task fo warming up :). Escape room tasks was at medium difficulty. It was really fun. I recommending this escape room to everybody
