It's cold at night and at times your phone or camera will shut down, and need to be warmed up in your pocket in order to power back up. There is a cafe with food and drinks indoors to warm up. It's definitely fun to visit, just dress appropriately.

I love in the huge ice sculptures,Shows some extra ordinary ice carvings. Beautiful place. For toddlers, bring a sled along for kids to ride in, sold outside door for RMB100. There are some baby slopes for tobogganing. There are also plastic butt protectors for RMB10, which will work with snow slides, but make ice slides too fast. If the kids can handle the cold, it's worth a whole day. Expect hours long queues in the evening for the big slides. The individual ice slides are impressively long. The big doughnut family rides have massive queues too. If a small slide is empty, could be worth it to go a few times before a queue forms up again. Dress very warmly. We had heat pads in our shoes. I tried to go without it, and had to put them in when getting some food.

You will not imagine that that everything can made from ice! Is a huge place and you will see many things made from ice; building, tower, music Festival stage, everything from ice! During the cold winter months, this park area transforms into an eclectic winter wonderland. You can see various snow/ice sculptures, handcrafted by a mini army of craftsmen. Some of the sculptures are rather sizable, reaching up to the footprint of a smallish building. Although the entrance fee is not exactly cheap, it was probably worth a visit, since a huge portion of the world do not have the requisite climate/temperatures to sustain outdoor large scale ice displays. The area is easy enough to navigate, and walking about or talking the park tram will suit people of all ages. It does get a bit cold, and there are not much amenities around, so dress warm, and you can probably spend an hour or 2 slowly exploring the area.

Cheap and effective for gathering of family members under the open sky. It's a huge place with lots of options (for some you need to purchase tickets), for both children and adults. Also, you can rent a bicycle here to wander around the park. If weather is good, bring your food from home and enjoy it in one of the Parks of Sun Island.

So I'm used to seeing icons, and the place had some religious art on the walls, frescoes etc. But it was weird. They were all totally "DEAD". I felt nothing apart from maybe a bit confused. Then I realised, they were all fakes, painted by Chinese artists. Good artists too, I have no doubt. Great technique and all that, but... BIG but... to an iconographer, icons are painted as an act of prayer, and to an orthodox christian who prays before them, they are a window into God. The place felt like it needed to be prayed in again - but in 2008 (when I visited) that was not likely. I don't know if anything has changed.

It is end of summer 2023. St.Sophia's Cathedral looks beautifully magnificent in the afternoon sun. The restoration has done a wonderful job to restore its rich colors and grandeur. It is now an art museum of Harbin's history in paintings with descriptions in Chinese. It also couple as a music concert hall. Would be wonderful if the government can find an expert to restore the inner fascade to restore it back to its glorious yester year.

Fabulous Russian Orthodox church which is of August 2019 being renovated. However it is possible to get close to the church and take nice pictures of it. The church sits in a larger square which has a fountain in it among other sites. The square can get busy during the day. The square is surrounded by shops if there are too many people and you want to wait.

Gorgeous church, and they made the interior a concert hall with musicians playing.

Situated in probably one of the busiest areas of Harbin city, stands this historic church, constructed in a Russian Orthodox style architecture. While I am no expert on the history of Harbin, I think it is quite evident the influence Russia once had on the area, with a surprising amount of influence still visible till today. When we visited, the place is undergoing so major form of restorative work, so we did not manage to have a tour on the inside, but the outside seems beautiful enough. It is also quite lovely to visit considering that you are actually in China, and yet feels like you been teleported across the border.

The Russian influence in Harbin can be seen in this monumental structure. Best time to visit would be around or after 2 pm when the sun has shifted. The lighting is perfect for pictures. I would also suggest to go inside the visitor's center at the North side of the square. The center features the history of the Cathedral and the square.

It’s not the grandest of all churches but its long and colorful history and the fact that there’s an identical church thousands of kilometres away on the other side of the world together make St Sophia a lady oozing with character and majesty.

Lovely gardens and park land set in the middle of Harbin. The gardens are free to enter and you can spend anywhere between 10 minutes and half the day in there. It is a good place to sit and enjoy yourself. There are also boats that can be rented and a children's amusement park- both of which require money. The park also contains some small animals in cages for children to feed.

I visited the Museum unit 731, I get to learn many things about current friends and previous enemies Chinese and Japanese. Japanese War Crimes committed a biological and chemical warfare research and development wing of the Imperial Japanese Army that undertook lethal human experimentation during the Second Sino-Japanese War with the English translation everything was super cool and well understood.

Very well done up museum, FOC when we went. Upkeep not top notch maybe due to lack of income, but generally good. Fair amount of English write-up. Easily spend a couple hours with a teen and a 8yo. Some graphic info is presented for those faint of heart. Well designed exhibits. There might have been an audio tour, but we were not offered maybe because we did not look like foreigners. Museum can be cold in winter, so keep your jacket handy.

It was a wonderful experience! The snow was thick and beautiful, it complimented the Russian buildings really well. We took lots of great pictures there. The show and winter activities like sledding was really enjoyable as well.

Something different in China. I had my doubts coming here but I can say I had a good time and the buildings plus the landscape are beautiful. I paid 120 rmb for the ticket With the slide from the palace (it's the cheapest one, just to walk around and take pictures). There are different buildings and some of them aren't open yet. The main ones are the palace (nice dance hall), the coffee shop, the hotel, the shop and the church. Then there is also a cafe and bar, then a restaurant.

Not your typical amusement park. There's a lot of miniature building in this park. But there's not enough fun provided for kids. Suitable for you who want to take great photos. There is a hotel inside the volga manor area, it is pretty standard, not typical resort hotel, but the area is pretty quite and peaceful at night.

Beautiful Russian themed Park village. We arrived on 2 Sept 23, beginning of autumn. The weather is sunny beautiful 28C You could spend the whole day here if not stay for a day or 2. Great place for photography even though could be more disabled friendly by offering rides from one place to another. They do have buggy rides which cost RMB300 perhour. There's the twin cycling option of RMB60 for part of the park. We went on the river cruise at Poseidon Bay. It's RMB30 perperson. Overall it's a wonderful place to spend the day.

A rather large estate that has been designed to incorporate as much Russian style architecture as possible. I guess you can think of it as a Russian themed park of sorts, with the "western" restaurant serving Russian cuisine inspired fare, dance shows etc. The hotel within the compound is mediocre at best. The rooms were alright in terms of comfort and amenities, but really nothing truly inspiring or memorable. As we visited during the winter season, the lake froze over, and being able to walk across and explore was nice. There were some winter related activities, but I would think that during the warmer months, there will probably be more to do. Suitable for a short stay, and I enjoyed the change in scenery, but I would not recommend staying an extended duration during winter, since there really isn't that much to keep you entertained for long.

In winter, the park is designated as one of the venues of the yearly Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival. The medical staff tried to convince a homeless person to go with them, but when unpersuaded left him to sit where he was at the edge of the pavement. Pretty well priced to catch the cable car back and forth over the Songhua river, the cable cars are located on the third floor and you have to navigate through a lot of shops and stairs before getting there. Tickets are purchased on the ground floors. We caught the last ride back across and managed to catch the sunset and fabulous views of the frozen river.
