What can I say about this spectacular place that has not already been said by many. But as an young individual I got introduced to the racecourse via my grandmother and I am very greatful for it because it gave me the opportunity to witness some amazing events, from races to the fireworks, and the general Ascot days to the Royal Ascot events. It’s like stepping into a whole new world as you enter the gates. The service is always impeccable with great attention to details every time I get the opportunity to go there.

We had a fantastic day at the family fun day topped off with the best fireworks we have ever seen. Price was reasonable, plenty of good options, we enjoyed the horse races and a food view from Queen Annes Enclosure. The only thing was the signage for the car parking but all in all fantastic day and we will be back. Staff were lovely.

Royal Ascot delivers! Organised from the moment you step of the train and back. There is high security which is comforting and the crowd control is superb. The event itself is one to not miss! The energy, staff, race horses, jockeys and of course the Royal family make it an excellent day out! The amenities and facilities are plentiful with loads of bars, food, seating, picnic hampers, shops….you name it! We opted for the Windsor enclosure which was superb. Highly recommend

Jump season is here. Growing up in a household that lived inhaled and exhaled horseracing all year round. Tickets were bought in advance. Kids go free on certain days, worth looking into. We went to the family day. I loved the ambiance, I won too. The train from Clapham junction does get packed. It is a short walk from the station to the grounds. Plenty of parking is available. The food was delish. A fussy eater devoured the tater tots, the mac n cheese, so flavorsome. Churros were👌, would have wanted less sugar on less. There were plenty of activities for children, and I few rides all free of charge. An event well thought of We were in the Queen Anne enclosure. You can see the pre-parade, and the winners coming out. Strongly suggest it for those that don't like crowds as there is plenty of space. Seating is scarce so be ready to stand. So the attire was quite formal. It is an occasion to dress up. Plenty of alcohol with bars every 3 meters. We had a peek at the picnic area, it looks good for sunny days not in autumn weather. We were blessed with few showers, nevertheless, the race continued with the crowd cheering. It is to experience, especially if you see it only on TV. The staff are very polite.

Food options are plentiful within the enclosure, £12 for a pizza, same for fish and (a few) chips. 2 pints and 1 half of cider £18. Cost aside, the atmosphere is excellent and generally a great day for all. The military band were excellent certainly worth the karaoke at the end of the racing day.

Ascot is one of our finest racecourses. Take care to leave enough time if you're driving, the traffic can get very bad and you can take a long time to travel the last mile or two. We were fortunate enough to go for Frankie Dettori's last day racing in Britain. Entry was easy, but it was a 15-20 minute walk to the course from the car park. There are a huge number of bars, food outlets and betting outlets. The views of the racing are superb, and there are lots of large screens as well.

Unless you have the endurance to stand and walk on them all day. Many ladies started wearing flats or just walk barefoot midday already 👠 🐎 You can't bring food, but bring a water bottle that you can refill all day for free! 🐎 There is some seating around the enclosure, but very minimal. If you want, you can sit on the steps at the racecourse watching stands, but be prepared to be showered with drinks from behind by other overexcited attendees 🥲 I had drinks spilled on my legs and dress a few times. By accident (I hope) and not much damage done... 🐎 If you can, book a table for a day that you will be able to sit at in comfort and leave at any time with a peace of mind that no one will take it 😌 🐎 Bring an electric fan if the weather is predicted to be hot. It will be a life saver! 🪭 🐎 There are lots of food places. I had lunch at @the_duck_shed_london and The French Duck Salad was amazing! Definitely recommend getting your food for the day here 🤤 🐎 And lastly and the most importantly, enjoy the experience! Soak in the atmosphere and cheer on your favourite horse 😁

What a great place to visit !!!!! My partner booked for us and our 8 year old daughter as a birthday treat.. the standard of acting of all the characters was brilliant. Food and drink was on the high side but was expected. Ice-skating was good until i fell on my bum... we travelled from Shropshire and stayed overnight at Legoland Resort so surprise number 2 overall a great place to visit

We loved it! Yes, it’s expensive but it really is your call on whether or not it’s affordable for your family and circumstances. It was our first time visiting and we found it to be an entirely enchanting experience that everyone from grandparents to children thoroughly enjoyed. I was a little worried that my 10 and 8 year old nieces would perhaps be a little too old for the experience but I couldn’t have been more wrong… they were transported to a magical, Christmas wonderland that they could not stop talking about afterwards. Our family of 8 all found it to be very well organised and it did not feel crowded at any point - this was due to the great organisation from all of the team. All of the staff working there (the elves) were brilliant and stayed in character at all times. We were blown away by the intricacies of the decor and little touches that made it such a special experience. Father Christmas was also excellent and our girls loved the fact that that he knew so much about them… in fact, they were amazed. A few more food options would have been nice in the Elf Village but not a massive issue. All in all, it’s a wonderful day of festive fun for all of the family and certainly one that my family will always remember- thank you Lapland UK!

This place is amazing! You must buy tickets in March, follow their instagram for a release date. They get booked quickly, I was in the queue for hours. It’s worth it! The tickets are expensive. Go during the school day if you can, less people & cheaper. Parking is available & free. Well organised. You enter, kids get special passports. Loads of different activities. There’s a village with ice skating & food, you get to eat here but you don’t have much time to see shops & to make the best of it, as you get 1.5 hour for the village, after you have done the activities. Food is fairly expensive but edible. Once you leave the village, you get to see Santa - who’s amazing, the best Santa yet. He hands over a toy - husky, but it changes. You then go through the shop & at the end you are given a special Xmas gift = soft toy rabbit to put secretly under the Xmas tree. It’s magical, kids couldn’t believe it on Christmas Day. Lovely experience. Definitely worth the money. My kids were 7&11, I would have preferred 6&10 but I wouldn’t bring 2/3 year olds, it’s too much walking & they get fed up/knackered. Personally I think older kids enjoy it more. Parents have loved it too. It does get muddy, bring wellies if wet & leave clean shoes in the car. Enjoy!

The best place to take kids for Christmas to see Father Christmas and enjoy a whole day of activities. We went for the first time and it was magical. Half of the experience consist of played interactive shows for the kids and second half you get to spend 1.5h in the Christmas village with shops and ice skating ring. Food at the village is surprisingly good for a fast food type with tasty pizza, burgers and hot dogs. At the end you're taken to see Father Christmas. We will be back next year! :)

Difficult to put into words how amazing this experience is. The attention to detail is exceptional, the sets, costumes, characters, lighting, you can’t fault it. My daughter had a fantastic time and seeing her excitement made it even more enjoyable.

We had a lovely visit, the actors make the experience amazing. The paths were a bit muddy but we went prepared so it didn’t affect the day. Our boys loved it, they especially enjoyed seeing Santa as he chatted about things in their lives (from the info we provided). The shop was a bit pricey considering how expensive it is to go but where isn’t. It was a very magical 4 hours!

They did this so well and would recommend you book for next year. Read the website to see what you get. Don't expect the world though, yes it's expensive but in my opinion well worth it. Both big and small people had fun 😀 Reading about the wait for Santa on other reviews, I think we waited no more than 15 minutes. Maybe they had an issue on one day but for us it was fine.

It's the most magical place. Even I got caught up in all the magic! Attention to detail is incredible. Every single team member including car parking attendees are so polite, helpful and rescue me from my dad's silly comments like "is the snow real" from running my 8 year olds beliefs!

A wonderful experience, lots to see and do. Beautiful settings for both day and night visiting. Nice calming flow through the whole experience with little queuing times for the different areas. Took about 5 hours in total and you feel like you get your money's worth. Overall a great day out. Definitely recommend

We went on Superstar day and it was the best day! The Elves were so good with our little folk and really made the experience special. We really hope to return again. The work and attention to detail that went into the whole place and the daily events is incredible. Magical memories we will treasure forever.

After booking tickets back in March, the wait was over. We managed to get to Lapland slightly earlier than expected but had no issues on arrival. There was plenty of parking although slightly muddy. After unpacking the kids, it was a short walk through the forest to the entrance. Our allotted time was 12 and we were there slightly before 11:30 so decided to have a hot chocolate before going in. At this point it went slightly downhill as we had to wait for our drinks although we had ordered them before other people that were there. At this point we felt quite rushed as we couldn't enjoy our drinks and were too hot for the kids to enjoy. We entered the main area where we were split into 2 groups: the reindeers and the huskies. We then went through to the first section which was a bit of wasted time. The next section we entered the toy factory where the kids were able to make a bunny. They then went to Mrs Christmas kitchen where they decorated gingerbread men. They could take it home or demolish the biscuits there. Once we were done in the kitchen we entered the Elves village. In the village you had the opportunity to ice skate, write and post a letter to Santa, grab a bit to eat or buy something from the shops. The negative about the Elves village was that we were not given enough time to enjoy it with the kids and felt rushed. By the time we went round the ice rink, we had to quickly visit the other sections before it was our time to queue for Santa with no time to be able to eat anything. While queuing to see Santa, there were various areas and opportunities to take photos including seeing the reindeer. Once we got to the Santa section, our kids names where called out and we followed the allocated elf to meet the big man. At this point, the kids were super excited and even received a gift. Once we finished it was time to walk back to the main hall to buy the photos taken and visit the gift shop before exiting back to the car park. Overall, it was a very good experience for the family that you should do once. The kids enjoyed it and the activities were fun for them not to be bored. I would have expected a bit more time to look around and maybe a cafe at the end just to be able to grab a bite before going home. Also for the price paid (over £630 for 5 of us), I would have expected at least a free drink for the adults. I don't see it as an annual thing, for us anyway, but would recommend going at least once.

Excellent day out. We went in the evening and it was magic with all the lights on. The elves are brilliant and the most joyfully creatures you will ever meet. Expensive to get there and expensive when you are there but in my opinion woth it. Our younfest is 7 and maybe next year he will be too old for it but this year he loved it. And the Santa at the end is brilliant! Definitely the real one 😉

There is no more magical place to take your child/children to visit Father Christmas. It is definitely the DisneyLand of Father Christmas experiences, there is truly nothing like it. Absolutely incredible for both Child and Adult. I cannot recommend this place enough, saying they go the extra mile is an understatement. I cannot wait to visit again later this year with my son. A five star experience with attention needed in places We didn't know what to expect really, our friends all had great experiences, but we didn't really know how muddy it would be. Well turns out that we didn't need to worry about the mud. Everything was incredibly well stage managed and flowed incredibly well. At no time did we feel crammed or rushed, and everything was under cover. Remarkable really when you realise that before and after there is no trace of the place and it's just a wonder ful forest. The buildings and stages are all amazing and no attention has been spared in packing the place with furniture and props This experience is a winner and I hope it inspires others on how to do it properly and to make it as magical and enchanting as this. It is expensive, but then I've never ever had an experience as complete as this. It's well worth it and I hope it gets more amazing every year. Some attention to muddy paths is needed. On the whole they were covered well in bark chippings, but there were gaps. The food is average but not great. The pizza we had was not good. Overall 5 stars, but room for tweaks.

Been wanting to visit for years and 2023 was our year to travel to this magical place with our 10 year old daughter and 2.5 year old son. What can I say - this place is worth EVERY penny that you pay. For the kids and the adults it's just the most magical attraction & absolutely gets you into the Christmas Spirit! Don't want to go into much detail as I can ruin it for all but if you are hesitant because of the price - don't be. Seeing the kids faces through the whole 4.5 hours we were there was priceless. Food and drink are not overpriced at all! The hot chocolates & Mulled wine is to die for! Thank you Lapland UK for keeping the magic alive!

We turned up with no booking having been let down elsewhere- nothing was too much trouble - all the staff were super friendly, our dogs were welcomed too. Really nice food, lovely atmosphere. The staff truly were lovely. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is that it was a little pricey, particularly on the drinks. We ordered a burger and asked to double up; the extra patty was £3.50 which was steep I thought. However, really lovely people and very welcoming.

Have only visited Lavender Park for the snooker tables. Lots of them and nice area with TVs for the sports too. 2 pool tables at one end mean that the snooker table next to them can be tricky to play shots when the pool tables are in use. Lots of waiting. Staff friendly at the bar and 0% beer on tap is a plus as a non drinker.

Got everything, nice bar & ambience, top tech driving range (TopTracer) with auto ball tee loader, friendly pro shop staff who even graciously saved me a driving bay whilst I got my clubs out the car. 👍👍😎 - also has outside seating bar area with large TV screens. The footy was on today, nice vibes 👍 My new home base driving range for sure. 🤗

Brilliant place - top tracer range and they keep the balls in top condition. Bar is great, sports always on including football, golf, F1. Food great value. The par 3 is challenging for seasoned golfers with tight fairways, but also friendly for beginners to learn the game. Pros are friendly, decent enough pro shop. Can’t fault it. It hasn’t survived 2022’s summer and drought very well but it has been reseeded and needs some time to recover.

A great range facility with Top Tracer system. Different amounts of balls can be purchased from the machine with cash/credit card. Well lit with flood lights so you can see the balls at night but the ball condition was that great when I visited.

Great place to practice. Nice 9 hole golf course. Has computerised tracker system to improve your golf and allows you to play virtually while hitting actual shots. lots of famous courses around the world. Golf shop is good and really available and expert's advice on tap. Bar on site too. I believe there are snooker tables but not used then myself. Parking available

This place has done really well improving its appeal and facilities. They have created a really nice covered outdoor space with 3 screens showing all kinds of sports. The food is really good as well. The driving range is great, they have the new toptracer radars and you can play games and virtual courses, there does seem to be a certain time in the evening where the consistency drops in picking up your shots which is frustrating but it's still great fun. The balls are a good price and you can get a card that you pre load in the pro shop that gives you an even cheaper price on the range. I don't use the course much or the snooker facilities so i won't comment on those, but from what I've seen they look great.

Not a fan. (Nearly) £4 for squash and tap water. (Not my only issue,still waiting for a reply from a few years ago that never came too, leaving me between 50 &75 out of pocket). But I was with company who had pre chosen the location for our meet. I was there out of politeness.

We played the par three course, had a bite to eat and then a few frames of pool. It was an enjoyable afternoon and the staff were friendly and helpful.

While waiting for the storm to pass, we called in to The Stag for some lunch and a drink. The pub was clean and airy. The welcome we received was very friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent, and the food was excellent. I am very happy to recommend it. The only downside was a woman sitting next to us playing music videos on her phone, but that was not the pubs fault.

We had a private event here and the staff were incredible. Amazing staff made sure every detail was taken care of so our group could relax and enjoy ourselves. It's a beautiful venue with delicious food - you cannot go wrong with this location.

The rear outdoor beer garden is a brilliant setting on a hot summer day or even on a colder day as they have sheltered area. It is also a dog friendly pub, which I genuinely love. I'm not a shareholder or have any reasons not to be sincere, but this is truly a little hidden gem when you visit Ascot. 10min walk from the station if you follow the road but I can recommend the "scenic" route which is 15min and goes straight through the green towards Ascot races.

Beware of raceday prices and menu- £12 for a small wine glass seems really expensive and only food = a burger or hotdog from the grill. Seriously overcharged. Forgot it was a raceday and went for a drink. If your not afterpartying from the races/ too drunk to realise the pricing don't go.

I went to the stag for dinner a few days ago, the pork belly was succulent, the fries had the perfect crunch and there was a nice selection of beers. The pub is also breathtakingly decorated and the staff were very friendly, it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be revisiting again.

What an absolutely lovely pub. This is just what Greene King should be doing across a good few of their others. The Stag is well-run with brilliant staff. The decor is really tasteful with plenty of seating. The food menu is fantastic with especially good burgers. Great range of beers too.

Lovely food, great staff, the lady that served us made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Lively pub with great food and a live band tonight. My brother and I popped in for food mainly and I think we were older than the general crowd who clearly enjoy a great venue but I'm happy to say we enjoyed the atmosphere and I had a lovely Steak and Ale pie which I can highly recommend.

Had a family dinner at the Duke of Edinburgh and we had a lovely evening. Good simple food and the staff were very good. Recommended. Paid another visit in October 2023 and had another enjoyable lunch. Another lovely lunch in December.

Try their half shoulder of lamb. It’s really delicious. The personnel is friendly and helpful. The interior is very beautiful with lots of details.

Tasty lunch today - I had steak and ale pie, other half had liver, bacon and onions - at the Duke of Edinburgh, it was busy so great atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. Great!

I took my mother to this pub recently and we both agreed it was great. When I asked about accessibility the person on the phone was very helpful and offered to reserve a convenient parking space. The pub itself is very nice inside, well presented and has a good ambience. The service was first class, friendly and attentive without ever being intrusive. The menu featured several tempting offerings; we both settled for sea bass, which was perfectly cooked. If I want to be picky the broccoli & cauli were a bit on the soft side for me, but that's personal preference and it didn't spoil my enjoyment. And then the big test....the syrup sponge with custard. Would there be a proper amount of custard or just a tiny little poxy pot on the side? I'm happy to report that this was a slam dunk, and I found myself eagerly facing a sponge island in the middle of a sea of custard....outstanding!

The service was excellent, and attentive. The food was slightly above average, but then it's not setting out to be a fine dining establishments. Good for what it was. Slightly above average gastro pub prices. The atmosphere is very relaxed. A pleasant time was had by our party and we shall be returning.

This place has great food & great service. The staff are delightful, friendly & helpful. You will not be disappointed by the food. The burgers are amazing, the choice is substantial and everything is done with a smile. There is both an indoor & outdoor dining area with the outdoors under heated marquee, as well as a garden. Highly recommended.

Stopped here for some lunch and to get out the rain! Small car park, but we did get a space even though it was busy inside. Nice classic style pub with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Dog friendly too. The menu had a huge selection, but we went for 2 types of ploughman's, both of which were very tasty (although a proper container for the condiments would be better). Glad we came here.

Cannot fault. We booked a short notice late lunch and they were very accommodating. Food selection quite vast with a few specials. Staff knowledgeable and very helpful. Quality of food was very good and prompt. Overall excellent. We will be back.

Lovely spot in coworth park, great wine menu too. The FOH staff were lovely too, and the whole decor of the place was great. The food came on time and was delicious, from the Caesar salad to the grilled salmon to the barn burger, a really lovely place. I would say for a good meal 3 courses (including 2 sides) plus a glass of wine the price per head is around 70 - this is choosing the more economic dishes but the standard makes this understandable. Great jobs done by the chefs, very efficient and great workers.

Absolutely fantastic lunch had here on Saturday for my boyfriends birthday. Food was excellent, everything we imagined. Great service and the setting was beautiful! Will definitely visit again.

Really impressed with the food and service we received during a birthday dinner that was arranged for my wife at The Barn. Lisa helped to arrange the event for our group and I was very impressed with the service and communication during the entire process. Lots of special touches were arranged for the day and Lisa’s attention to detail ensured every aspect of the planning was taken care of. During the event the service we received from Alessandro and the rest of the team was first class. It really helped to ensure the evening ran smoothly. From start to finish Alessandro ensured all of our guests were looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend the food and service at The Barn if looking for a venue for a special dinner or celebration.

Amazing restaurant, amazing ambience. Just gave me a reprieve from the busy days and the constant juggling. The manager and the team were so respectful. We enjoyed a walk about on the property after. Entirely loved it.

Fantastic service from the moment we arrived. The outdoor area is a very beautiful and peaceful setting, it’s a perfect location to eat on a summers evening. The food was delightful with plenty of vegetarian/vegan options.

Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious Halal Sunday roast lunch is very rare to find and The Barn does not disappoint.

I’m not quite sure where to start. I’d like to be constructive and positive but this was poor from start to finish. When we ordered the Steak (for 2) and asked for medium rare, the waitress said it’s a little chuey like that. Have it medium. That should have given me a clue! We ordered 3 deserts for fun and my friend said that one of them was the worst thing she had ever experienced. We had a couple drinks each and at £320 it should have been a lot better.

Just a beautiful open space with real care for the environment either in the clubhouse or on the course. Great place to spend a Friday afternoon.

Just embarked on my 3rd Couch25K at the lovely Ascot Heath which is inside the race course. A great place for a walk, run, dog walk. Very lucky to have this place on our doorstep.

Nice course with a few challenges but otherwise fairly open. Tees and greens in good condition…….nice and fast with good reads. Bunkers decent enough with enough sand to actually get out. Friendly staff in clubhouse and pro shop. Both areas fairly basic but do the job. £50 for a midweek round at 2pm so not the cheapest.

Played the course with my dad, and a work colleague as we were invited by a member John munday as always loved it, the course is great,staff were lovely and friendly. A special thankyou to think it's rob in pro shop. Who altered my driver for me after 9 holes and it worked a treat will definitely be back

I recently played at a golf course that provided a fantastic experience! It was a nice all-round course, not too complicated yet incredibly enjoyable. The staff were friendly, and the fairways were well maintained. However, the only downside was encountering a fair amount of animal dung on the course. Additionally, the gate didn't open automatically upon leaving, which was a bit inconvenient. It would have been helpful if visitors were informed about this and given the gate code beforehand. Despite these minor issues, I had a great time overall! ⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Enjoyable course & despite all the recent heavy rain the tees & greens were in great condition for late November.

Not a challenge for a Royal golf course,bunkers had a vast verity of sand!! The greens were shocking so many short tuffs of grass on the 18 holes I asked for a refund but was refused. Staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Excellent Experience Drinks are a bit expensive

We came with our 4 children to stay the night before we went to legoland. The hotel was beautiful. The lady on reception was very helpful and lovely to talk to. Every member of staff we walked past always gave a nice hello, very friendly. Our rooms were immaculate. The kids were so happy with their twin pop up beds and said they were very comfortable. My bed was lovely! The bar man was very attentive. We had hot chocolates in the sun. Breakfast had a wide range of options. We had a mixture of cereal, toast and cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone. Hopefully we get the chance to visit again some day.

We had a one night spa break here. Spa facilities- for the price, absolutely fab. Good sized pool with the normal extras such as sauna, steam room etc. Spa treatments- Fantastic. Very well priced for the quality!! My husband and I really enjoyed the facial especially, very relaxing. Restaurant- We had dinner and it was beautiful. Everything was well presented, tasted great and the service was lovely. All the staff were very friendly. Room- The only let down of our entire stay, the bed was really uncomfortable. It felt like the mattress had gone so we didn't get a very good sleep. We have returned since for just a spa day and also had a great experience.

It was a birthday present from a good friend & what a lovely treat. The old part of the hotel was steeped in history, which we liked. The pool was a good size for my swim (20 lengths) both days, & the inside/outside hot pools with jets were invigorating. We used all the salt, steam, sauna, ice rooms. The two treatments, mine with Shikha & my friends with Ashley we would recommend. We had dinner in the restaurant, the black-pudding Scotch egg was out of this world & breakfast was delicious, the size of the mushrooms, wow 🤩 We definitely will be back, what a lovely way to spend my birthday. Thank you

We spent a great weekend in this amazing place. The service was professional and courteous. Food and atmosphere in the restaurant at the highest level. The SPA zone, although not in the full offer (spa treatments by Covid were not available), allowed for relaxation and rest in the saunas and the swimming pool. The hotel itself is clean and well-kept and the beds are comfortable and equipped.

We had a relaxing few days at the Berystede for a birthday gift. We were upgraded on our arrival by Freda at front desk which was an excellent gesture. Although the hotel is very grand and has some good facilities, there are signs that it needs some updating around the edges. The bathroom, although adequate, was in need of a remodel. The spa had good facilities internally, but the outside pool area decking is bordering on dangerous. In addition to this, it seemed the outdoor sunbeds were also in need of replacement. Out of 5 sunbeds, only 3 were usable. There were other deckchairs and chairs available although these just seem to be strewn across the lawn and stayed in those positions over the time we were there unless rearranged by a guest. The restaurant and bar was immaculate and the staff very friendly and helpful. The food although good, seemed to be missing something to make it great, i would have expected slightly more from the dinners. This being said we still had a very relaxing time but we may try somewhere else in future

Room overlooking a car park not what I would describe as De Luxe: no bathrobes or slippers. The room was cold .When I rang reception to point this out the person they sent didn't know how to adjust the heat. Food So so red cabbage in my main course inedible. On the plus side the staff did their best to be helpful. Can't recommend the dinner deal. The Spa looked nice ,maybe better to go for that

unfortunately quite disappointing. reception service at check-in definitely could’ve been more welcoming or friendly. room itself didn’t have functioning a/c or radiator, had no toiletries, hardly any complementary teas etc. bed was comfy but view from room was not aesthetic at all. the spa itself was not amazing: needed cleaning up and within the thermal suite a few things didn’t work properly: the showers (aroma or massage), the salt room, and the floor was quite dirty. furthermore, we were promised an extended massage as compensation for a booking error which was confirmed at reception but when in the actual massage room the massage therapists argued with us and declined to offer the extended massage despite email confirmation. also the locker in the make changing room broke and we couldn’t get out clothes out whilst we waited for someone to come fix it. the bathing suit dryer also broke and got someone else’s trunks stuck in them. the hydrotherapy pool was amazing though - especially since it extends outdoors which is a lovely touch. however, the biggest redeeming factor was the acanthus restaurant: the food was great and the staff were exemplary - they accommodated our every need including our anniversary (unlike the hotel itself). checkout was easy and straight forward.

I was doing a course in Ascot and opted to stay overnight nearby. The Berystede was the nearest and looked lovely. The hotel has a lot of character and my room was great. There were lovely sofas to sit on and chat. (A friend came over to have dinner with me so we were very comfortable and relaxed.) The Reception staff were warm and welcoming. I needed to print something at one points which they were able to do. The only slight thing that let the experience down was a long wait to be served at the bar despite there being only a handful of guests. Three staff came by but none were 'authorised' to serve drinks. When the bar person came along with meals for some seated guests, he was very focused on that. No "I'll be with you in a minute" or acknowledgement that we were stood waiting there. We didn't think he was the bar person until he came behind the bar. Even then, he first straightened a few things before turning to us to take our order. Not a biggy if people had ordered meals all at the same time but didn't chime with the friendliness and service of other staff. If all staff were permitted to serve drinks, it would have been a different experience entirely. Our fish and chips in the bar was very tasty.

Lovely peaceful 3 night break, 2 adults and 7 year old. Really nice hotel in a beautiful area, we were lucky to stay on such a quiet week. Staff were friendly. We picked this hotel for it's location for the surrounding attractions. Roads were great. Ate at the restaurant once, which was lovely. Ate out twice as there is a great selection of establishments to choose from. Really enjoyed the health club, great facilities and good size pool. 7 year old loved the pool too. Certain times for child's swim which wasn't a problem, just worked day around it.

Hotel amenities were good (pool and spa nice, but rest of the hotel is a little tired) however we were kept up most of the evening by loud guests, shouting, slamming doors and setting the fire alarm off. Not what you expect in a hotel like this. Would have expected a better reaction/apology from the hotel.

Visited the spa for my birthday, the spa facilities were great. There was a range of facilities. There was a hydro pool, swimming pool and a thermal suite which had a number of rooms such as steam room, sauna, ice room, salt room. Had a very relaxing time. We also had a back and shoulder massage which was very good however it did not last the full time as stated on the website. It was much shorter. My masseuse did a great job however the masseuse my husband got was not good at all. Therefore mixed feelings about the massages. The afternoon tea was very impressive, wide selection of stuff to eat. The staff were super friendly in the restaurant however they did not ask whether we had any dietary requirements. There was a ham sandwich on the stand and we don’t eat meat therefore was not impressed with that. However overall it was one of the best spa days I have experienced.

We came there for a friend’s birthday treat. We had spa treatments which were amazing. One negative was that the bath robs do not cater for the plus sized which is the category my friends and I fall under. Other than that it was a great experience which I would highly recommend to anyone.

Pretty disappointed with this hotel unfortunately. Extremely dated and in desperate need of a freshen up and refurbishment. Stayed here with friends in March. The website photos completely fool you. The beautiful exterior of the main building is just a facade. As we arrived the car park was full and had to continue to drive all the way to the back of a the hotel. Then carry our bags and suitcases across gravel and up stairs to get in a very unwelcoming back entrance that looks like you’re in totally different building. We had to walk with all our bags up and down stairs down narrow corridors all the way to the front to find the reception to check it. Not a very welcoming reception there either. They were clearly busy checking in a lot of guest arriving at the same time and didn’t have time for pleasantries. Even the basics of explaining what time breakfast is and where we would find the restaurant. We then had to walk all the way back the way we came lugging our cases up and down steps - wishing we had left them In the car. The room was small, dated and tired looking. To get to the spa you have to walk really far too and again the pictures really only show the highlights it was pretty crap. Not very clean. The picture I have added that looks like a pre fab flat block is the building our room was in. Walls are super thin too. I was woken multiple times from 12:30am by people coming back to their rooms talking loudly in the corridor. Breakfast was too busy for the staff to cope with - just not worth it. The little potato cake things they served were really nice though.

Hi Dear, Terrible experience Today, we didn’t have the afternoon tea because when I booked I told them about my allergies, last Wednesday I went to the hotel reception to ask if they could check with the kitchen make sure it was possible to have afternoon tea considering my allergies. They said yes it’ll be fine. Today we waited until 15:20 when my food turn up, cauliflower, sandwiches and fruit?? They clearly forgot about me. The manager kept saying the word vegan, (very unprofessional and he didn't let me talk...) I said many times to him, not vegan, I have allergies. They could not be bother to get something egg and nut free for me. I booked the table long ago plus I went in person to make sure it was ok. They had plenty time to get something little for me but they just forgot. Anyway, very disappointed. And it’s my birthday!! I sent 4 emails already, 2 to the general manager. I did not get a single apology for ruining my birthday plan....

Went for a spa break a few years ago with my mum and really enjoyed our break… lovely service, lovely food and lovely room. We decided to go again as we really enjoyed it but were quite disappointed. Prices have increased a lot but the services/food haven’t improved with it. Breakfast has got smaller in terms of options and food overall is not great for veggies/vegans. Room was also a lot smaller. Just a bit disappointed overall how we ended up paying more for less.

Pulling up to the hotel we were met by some automatic gates that felt like we had entered an exclusive place to stay. The staff in arrival were friendly and asked us us about ourselves and where we had travelled from which was a really nice thing. We were showed personally where to go and how to get to the facilities which was a really nice touch. The spa and pool were expansive with many things to experience and the outdoor hydro pool was a real treat. The treatments were amazing to. The food was good, the waiters,waitresses were professional and courteous throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend staying at this spa/hotel as we had really great experience. Another plus is it is 20mins away from Thorpe park so as a last minute descion we decided to go and satisfy our need for a thrill. If your looking for a friendly, professional and clean place to stay then I would strongly recommend.

Perfect hotel I really enjoyed my stay. Well located hotel with a nice feel to the common areas and the SPA was amazing. Had a spacious and comfortable room 349 which was nice, warm, and clean. 2 night was really short, had 2 amazing dinner and breakfast. Very welcoming staff specially the restaurant. We had a spa day deal. The facilities of the spa are great especially the hydro pool but my treatment was not the 25 minutes they said it was, more like 15 minutes having started late and finished early. The service in the bar was appalling, it took ages to be served, receive food and the food was of poor quality to be honest and expensive. There was a problem getting out of the gate to the hotel at the end, no-one could be reached on the reception phone and I had to run back to the hotel to get them to open the gate. All in all pretty disappointing.
