This is one crazy place. So many people and so much activity. I like the fact that you have so many unique stalls selling all sorts of stuff including all kinds of foods. Pretty much overwhelmed in a good way as I was kinda excited to see so much. The best part is seeing everyone from sellers to buyers having a great time......which has to be a place for side hustles to thrive. It's also within other tourist attractions in town. A wonderful Melaka drawcard for tourists and locals alike. Will definitely come back again.

This is the most famous street in Melaka. It is crowded like you will be loose with your friends. Many street foods. Nice to walk around but a bit tiring. ☺️ Monitor lizard is at the river. So cute!!!

Well this is one of the happening night market in Malacca. Many food and beverage choices, nice souvenirs all along the street. A good spot for Seafood lover. Just a tips is, please check the price before you purchased.. I spend RM12 for a bottle of ice coke.. Is shocked seriously, cheers

What a great tourism, night lights and overall wonderful celebration to Chinese New Year. The colours smells and sights are worth looking at. Also had the best Laksa Nan Yang style in a small market off the side of Yonker street. Tourist and locals join to unite. Had no issues with personal safety.

Night market is only Friday and Saturday from 6:30-midnight. Lots of food stalls, people selling stuff & street entertainment. In some spots it was too crowded to walk but it eventually opened up. Lots of seating. Food stalls are also along the side streets so don't miss those. People were very polite and respectful. 1 of the major streets was closed off. Lots of fun & a wonderful experience.

Good collection of snacks, trinkets, gadgets & other novelty items. Can be hot, so please dress according to weather, bring water & fan. Easy to find using maps, plenty of parking spaces by the roadside (make sure you park responsibly)

A paradise for food lovers. The night market opens on weekends in the evenings. Quite a lot of cafes and small restaurants line the street but the night market experience is the best. You can shop for knick knacks on the streets while enjoying an impressive variety of snacks. The lanes get very crowded as night progresses, so visiting with kids is a little tricky.

Not worth to go for visit anymore. A lot of repetitive stall which selling the same thing / food, for example, the jelly ball, at least 6 stalls which own by same boss. The 龙须糖 also easily more than 5 stalls, all is not authentic or Malacca-related food, it just a normal night market as we can found everywhere in KL.

Good walking and shopping streets to buy souvenirs for friends.Even we already go a few times but is never boring to go visit again. The temple here must go pray because is very efficacious.

Best time to visit is the weekend it gets very busy. Many different stalls selling food, drinks and accessories. Dancing transformer the kids all love. Can enjoy a river cruise or a colourful bike taxi to take you around to see the points of interest. Would recommend

Great for soaking in the ambience. Good mix of the more hipster stuff like popcorn and bubble tea, and the traditional stuff like herbal tea and local cuisine. Lots of repeats though and really long queues.

The Vibe, Energy and Ambiance. This place is amazing. If you like night markets then this place is the place to be. Only opens on weekends but if you are going to Melaka you should definitely visit. It is crowded and definitely hot. I recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes. The place is filled with amazing food and local items. Make sure you bring enough cash on hand if you are planning to splurge. We will definitely comeback to this place.

Opens only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This night market is pretty long. This night market starts from around 6 pm. From this timing, there will be many stalls starting to set up. Most of the stalls sell repeatitive stuff. Didn't manage to buy a lot of stuff. Food choices are also quite limited. Like most night markets around the world.

The day time and the night time were so different in the cool way. I really like the old buildings here. They are very amazing.

Way more fun now that there are more vendors out though there are a lot more food stalls with some repetition throughout. Always nice to see what is new - mango smoothies, dragon beard candy and lots of Thai tea and korean street food options. Definitely worth a visit though Parking is very challenging. I'd suggest Parking further out and just walking into Jonker. Saves you money, you get exercise AND you skip the jam coming in and going out. Checkout some of the cafes and stores for respite from heat, noise and people.

Place was buzzing with activities even though we came early and saw vendors started setting up stalls. The market covers the entire street, packed with many interesting stuff as we walked along browsing what was on offer. Lots of tourist around as expected but the experience was overall a nice one as traverse along with the crowd.

Love the atmosphere here at night. There are beca rides for 25 ringgit, scooters and local hawkers that sell food and drinks. You should check out the coconut ball stall where he cuts the coconut meat from the coconut with its water still inside of the coconut meat. Very cool.

During the weekend nights, Jonker Street Night Market comes alive with a bustling market atmosphere. It's a very interesting market both day and night. Lots of quaint shops and eateries but difficult to get western food or a good coffee. Great place for buying the local products and reasonably priced. Streets are small and definitely need a hat as its incredibly hot

A must-visit on your list when in Melaka. Probably the most bustling stretch of streets at the heart of this city when the night market “activates” on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Full of awesome authentic street food, drinks, fancy accessories/toys, local snacks, clothings, and even tattoo services. There are a couple of lanes across the entire area, no particular theme per se but you do get similar items repeated at different vendors, does get boring after awhile but regardless it’s an area which is not exceptionally extensive so you get to cover majority of it within 1-2 hours on average. Store owners are really friendly and can communicate well. Most stalls only accepts cash payments. Not much haggling allowed. All in all a wonderful experience soaking in the local culture amidst attractive lights, food aroma and live music at some corners.

Nice place for Antique shops, price is on bit higher side. Location is very hot carry water bottle , Family people with kids can go to this place only when it's Not Sunny day, better plan with kids after checking local temperature. local food varieties all non vegetarian and deeply fried , taste is not worth of the money

One of the very long night markets, especially on weekends, various kinds of food, drinks, accessories and so on are sold here. It is highly recommended to come here on weekends. They also have colorful tricycles that take you to see the surroundings and recommend tourist attractions that you should go to when you come to Melaka. 😁

this place holds a lot of good memories. very nostalgic and i will never get tired of it. always go here with my friends and family. there's a lot of street foods, jewelleries, stones, juices, clothes or even some random antic home decorations. some shops don't allow u to take photos for some reasons 😅

Pretty great experience. Not too long of a market, enough to keep you interested but not so long that you feel overwhelmed and too tired to do the whole thing. Felt just about right in terms of distance. Plus there's things around the market to do if you find the marker itself is not enough. The food on offer is pretty good and enough variety to keep it interesting. Does get a little repetitive. Also other souvenirs and trinkets on sale too. Overall great vibe and well worth a visit.

Just bring along an umbrella and thin plastic rain coat for the sudden heavy showers during December period."winter season" Food stalls are very cheap and foods are freshly prepared.

Crowded and busy on a Sunday night. Full of tourists like ourselves. 3 stars as we found the quality of the products less than standard. My daughter bought a pair of batik style pants that tore on her 1st use.

Give credit where credit is due! I must confess that Malaysian culture and hospitality is one of the best in the world. The Jonker Street Night Market..... wow wow wow 👌 A long, eventful walk it was. From the start to the end, adventure awaits you. You turn left and right several times because the eyes keep feeding on the beauty of culture. There are many street stalls to buy stuff from, especially souvenirs. It is the best place to eat whatever Malaysian food you can get your hands on; you must try the cendol, chicken rice balls, and oyster omelette. Then there's a watermelon feast that will quench your thirst. The list is endless. Should you get tired, visit any one of the many spas for a quick foot massage at a very affordable price. And do not leave Melaka without experiencing the trishaw ride, especially if you travel with kids. They will be blown away! Warning! Be ready to walk. Also, make sure you give this experience enough time.

The Malacca River Walk is best experienced at night. It is the most interesting and beautiful feature of this historical town. Need to spruce up cleanliness, and ensure there 's no smell from the drainage and litter bins in some places along the shore.

Visit first thing in the morning and enjoy the tranquility. You won't regret it.

Walked from Spot No 1 (at Pantai Peringgit) all the way to the last Spot No 26 (I think) which is at the river mouth. About a 2 hours comfortable walk.

Melaka river is the best night tourist spot in Melaka. Once known as the 'Venice of the East'.😊 Melaka River Cruise let me explore heritage views across the river. There are some new shopping mall and old shops, so good place to buy souvenir, food items, and artifacts. The river bank is full of restaurants, hotels, Cafes, shops. It's not that far from KL.

I have visited Melaka a number of times. It was one of our family's vacation spots. The river was something I had never given much thought to until I watched the movie Entrapment a few years ago. My curiosity was piqued, and I paid a little more attention on the river's beauty this time. The river is most beautiful to behold in the evening when there are boats selling passes and night lights along the river. A shot stroll in the evening while taking in the scenery of some of the historical buildings along the river. Date visited: 8th January 2024

Melaka River is named as Venice of the East. Melaka River covers a distance of 10 Km through heritage Town. Night life vibe is extraordinary there.

Museum was clean and well maintained. Guided tour are available depends on the time of the day but it wasn’t available when we got there, but the information book was informative enough for us. RM 16 charge was money well spent, we learnt quite a bit whilst there. There’s signs clearly say don’t touch the antique items but sadly seems the signs were still ignored by some visitors. There was insufficient staffs to enforce any kind of control. People really need to respect these historic items to preserve them for our future generations..

A gem not to be missed if you are in Melaka. This is a step back in time, thought provokingly in regards to the colonial past of Malaysia. Sometimes, beyond unassuming façades there is an impressive residence. We particularly enjoyed seeing the kitchen. It brought us closer to people that worked and lived there. As with most museums in Melaka make sure you have cash to pay for the tickets.

Every thing here is just stunning! To be honest, I have never seen such a magnificent residential home in China. Everything is so well-preserved that it feels like time has stood still. The current owner still takes care of this residence, and inside, along with its intriguing architecture and beautiful interior, there are stunning pieces of furniture worth seeing. It's a part of Chinese history and represents the cultural wealth that the Chinese have created and preserved outside of China. The visit is consistently awe-inspiring and impressive. I was fortunate to meet the heir and current owner of the ancestral home and have a conversation with them. Such museum homes are quite common in Southeast Asia, especially in Malaysia. I hope to have the opportunity to visit and compare them with those in other places.

It’s an interesting place to study about Baba and Nyonya life. It’s a big house, every single inch is remarkable and so precious. So much to see and captured. Highly recommended to children and adults who loves peranakan.

Privately-owned museum that shows beautiful artifacts of Chinese noble descendants which adopted the Malays culture. I love how they keep the old building beautiful with its solid teak floorings and airy courtyard. Their nicely aired interior definitely makes a nice option to spend time learning history during blazing Melaka afternoon.

The interior is beautiful and they provide you with an in-depth insight on the historical ways of the owners of the house. It's almost transports you back to a certain place in time. Overall a good place to visit if you live around the area or you're travelling.

A well reserved Peranakan house, interior is luxury and clean, a place to learn a bit knowledge of Baba & Nyonya. Entrance fee cost RM18 per pax , no reservation required during weekday. A self guide book will hand over and you can walk around the house by following the guide book. It is not really a museum but you may learn few things from the journey to this heritage house.

This is an excellent museum dedicated to a wealthy family in Melaka. Each room was exquisitely preserved or portrayed a story from the lives of the family. Although there is currently restoration of the kitchen going on, you can still see into the area they are working on. It’s a must visit while in the area. I learned so much about the culture!

A must-go place if you're visiting Malacca. This place is so beautiful that it's hard to believe someone lived here 200 years ago. There is a guided tour by staff, and self-guided tour by book. Unfortunately when we went there wasn't a guided tour, but the staff was very professional in briefing us before we enter. The house is beautiful, most of the items here are original and really beautiful. Walking through, you feel like you've travelled back in time, just imagine what it was like to live here. The items are clean, refurbished, and it didn't feel like things were fake or replicas. Unfortunately too, we came at the wrong time of year as the kitchen was undergoing some restoring so we couldn't see it. Highly recommended for history buffs, and also for the family to walk through history together.

There wasn’t a proper guide and much information provided in the museum. It’s great to have local private museums to educate the community on the rich Peranakan heritage. However, felt like much more can be done to make the history come to life.

Have had a wonderful time exploring and understanding this heritage as passed down from the early babas and nonyas. Very well maintained and preserved exhibits and artifacts which are passed down from generations to generations. Watch out for the floor tiles, the well carved (well maintained too!) doors, furnishings, decorative displays, paintings and photos and the various daily utensils for eating and cooking. Friendly host informed on what to do and not to do (and where to sit and not sit) through booklet which was returned after visit. The stairs and steps to 2nd level has its own designs to behold and admire too. Amazing place, worth the time taken to visit and spent like 2+ hours there. Parking is really tricky at this place but the staff there mentioned there is a parking place with $3RM for whole day behind a particular block. Need parking coupons otherwise.

We’re from Taiwan and love this museum since it shows lots of history and reserves the antiques very well. Highly recommend to come and learn the whole history of Baba and Nyonya. Remember to look into the details for some of the stuffs and you’ll found some surprising things.

Nice place to visit if you are around the area. Can go without guided tour as booklet detailing each room and areas is provided. My kids enjoyed the visit and got to learn more about the culture. The place is well maintained to with access to toilet.

One of the best spot in Melaka. A well curated Baba House and furniture. Brilliant architecture for a tropical house, and beautifully decorated with Chinese, Malay, and Western style. A must visit i Melaka.

There's no AC btw but it's not too stuffy as there's fan in every room. 4. Would recommend to anyone who wanna know more of the culture.

This Baba Nyonya Museum is worth a visit! When you step inside, you will feel how the people lived in the olden days. If you have watched 小娘惹 from Mediacorp Singapore, you will know what I am saying! Besides, I personally love the British Architecture shophouse built within British Malaya era (now aka Malaysia and Singapore), stepping inside feels like travelling through time, it's not just an antique or a relic, it's our ancestor memories. Their descendants have conserved and preserved the shophouse with their effort. Must visit to feel and experience the past!

Very interesting visit, without a guide. Staff lend an explicative brochure wich you and there are some information on small boards here and there. The old house is well restaured and the ancient furniture still look to wait for the owner's family.

This museum helps to learn about history and their traditions. Everything in this house is well preserved even their clothes. There are booklet tours and guided tours. No shoes allowed to upstairs. There is a souvenir shop at the exit door.

Nonetheless, despite this drawback, the museum is definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in delving into the rich history and traditions of the Baba Nyonya culture.

An unique museum of Baba & Nyoya in Melaka. Bit different & smaller than Penang one. It is according to family background and cultural. Book as guide borrowed as guide during tour inside museum. It will be nicer if guided tour available, as the ticket quite expensive.

Built in 1896, this museum was home to 4 generations of Chinese Malays known as Baba-Nyonya. It is absolutely stunning and extremely well maintained. Not to be missed when in Malacca.

The iconic location to be in Malacca. The Dutch buildings here have so much historical significance. There's an elevated platform where you can get a shot of the Christ Church Melaka building. It's really popular. At night, you can also find the trishaw riders with their lights on, which makes for a spectacle.

Travel back in time to the 17th century Dutch era.　What a the Dutch inspired beautiful architecture. I found Dutch style windmill on the north side square. No question this area is very touristly.

Dutch Square is full of history. The church celebrated over 200 years of existence and is a beautiful place to sit for a few minutes. The Queen Victoria fountain is beautiful. The many shops around are not intrusive and you can certainly get a cool drink in the heat of the day.

This historical site is located right in the heart of Melaka Historical City. Numerous Dutch and British historical buildings are located around this location. The night views are beautiful too. A boat terminal serving the Melaka River Cruise is also located nearby. The Night Melaka River Cruise is highly recommended. On the weekends, there is a beautiful night market in the nearby renowned Jonker Walk. Nearby here, there are numerous restaurants and food stalls serving authentic Baba Nyonya and local foods. There are also numerous souvenir stalls. A haven for souvenir hunters. Overall it is a place that brings you back in time and also gives you a modern feeling too..

The historical square of Malacca, containing all the remnants of the colonial days. It is very well kept by the State government. Stadhuys, Christ Church, Victoria Water Fountain, the Clock Tower, Bastion Middleburgh are all located here, within walking distance. It is very happening especially at night and on the weekend. Jonker street is just across the bridge over the Melaka river.

Dutch Square is a very beautiful historical place. There is a Church of Christ with Sunday's services. Climb the hilltop of St Paul's Church to see the city view.

So why is the Red Square at Melaka colored red? Nobody really knows, what we do know is that it was originally colored white. The red paint was introduced not by the Dutch during their 300-year rule, but by the British in the early 20th century. A popular theory is that locals spat so much red betel nut onto the walls -- out of disrespect for the Dutch -- that the British eventually just painted them red to avoid additional maintenance costs. 🤣🇲🇾💕

Very nice place. The streets were clean and the garden was well taken care of. The only downside are the bicycle taxis, they have flashy lights and loud music. Kind of kills the historical vibe.

It’s a nice start of your day trip in Melaka, but to me (even as a Dutch person) was a little overrated. Nice to see the Dutch heritage and a cool change of architecture opposed to the rest of Malaysia, but not something I couldn’t have missed in our trip. Jonker street however, most fun street we have seen in Malaysia, so Melaka is still a must visit!

Popular attraction in Malacca. The place has historically significance and is picturesque as well. Will recommend walking around the narrow by lanes to get some nice phot stops.

I think this was the centre of Melaka. You have to come here in the evening to get the best vibe. Lots of wonderful streets to explore walking.

One of Historic place in Melaka City. The vibes of this place is like the Portuguese Dutch colonial era. Very popular for tourist destination. Visitor can learn about history of Melaka or simply enjoy and relax the atmosphere. The building color is dominantly red, which is why it is also called 'Red Square'.

A landmark in Melaka and a popular attraction. Dutch Square is surrounded by iconic red buildings, lots of tourists, and trishaws. When we went, there was an abundance of flowers, which made for a distraction from all the litter. There are not many information signs about the history, which seems like a missed opportunity.

It would have been a pleasant visit if not for a certain group of tourists. They were running amok all around the area, cutting queues and hogging photo spots. Two of them even climbed over the railings and did not pay for the RM2 to gain entry into the cleanest more lovely toilet around the area. Some were taking pictures with NK regards for traffic and blocked walkways. Such a sad situation it was. Other than that, it was a nice place to be and to see the Christ church with my own eyes..and even being there was so surreal!. PLEASE VISIT The souvenir shop ran by an elderly couple round the corner. They were the most patient and sweetest people around and their prices were not overpriced!. The trishaw uncles were nice and they don't force you in your face to avail their services. And do try the chendol and watermelon juice(in a legit whole watermelon! 🍉 . This place has a mix of Portuguese and Dutch history since both lived in this city. The place can be quite crowded with tourists and locals, and is very clean and well-served with restaurants, cafes, and stores. You can also walk through the river or even take a cruise ride across the river.

St. Paul's Church Lighthouse also known as Malacca Light and it's located in St. Paul's Church, Bukit Melaka, Bandar Hilir, Malacca, Malaysia. The Malacca Light is an inactive lighthouse in Malacca City built with Watch Tower that's overlooking to Malacca River and the sea strait. An additional beacon in year 1849 by British for ships travelling along the Strait of Malacca. The lighthouse was eventually deactivated, the functionality diminished further as to Malaccan Harbour underwent land reclamation d uring the late 20th century. The ruins of the Church of Saint Paul on top of Bukit Melaka is a fascinating place to visit. It doesn’t require a lot of time and you’ll get beautiful views of the city. It has a solemn atmosphere among the grave markers of the various Dutch merchants in the area. After the church descend the stairs to the south to visit the museum of the Sultan’s palace.

Good place to visit while in Malacca. Walking distance from Malacca square. The walk up the hill to reach the church is not difficult and up the hill you get a nice breeze and view of Malacca. You can get information about the church ruins on the board and can sit around and rest on the benches near the church. The inside of the church has rocks with engravings and is pretty picturesque too.

This was worth visiting during our stay in Malacca. The preservation of original structure despite of damages to some places gives a good old feel to it. We even got lucky to listen to the song ‘Imagine by John Lennon’ by a busker named Terima Kasih- that was quite fun to listen to the legendary lyrics in a 500+ year old church :)

Actually, I didn't have a good understanding of this church of St. Paul which was built by the Portuguese. Many reviewers say that it is a historical place and they give high scores. Don't sugarcoat it. Personally speaking, there was nothing special. Only a few large tombstones are displayed leaning against the wall. Albeit it is one of the historical places of Melaka, the church is built on the top of the hill which is so stiff. I am 44 year old man but had difficulty reaching it. So, I think bringing children with you is not a good idea. That's because the weather is so hot, thirsty, sweating, and at that time, I thought to myself. "What am I doing here?" Considering that the church is almost destroyed, you'd better visit another attractive area of Melaka to save time as a tourist. You are not a national geographic photographer. Keep in mind. Enjoy.

Well maintained ruins of the old Church of Saint Paul, with access to the site from some stairs. A few benches around so can have a seat at the top, as well as some stalls selling various gifts and other items. Information sign at the front is easy to understand and the large text can be translated to English via a QR code at the bottom. Steep stairs lead you to some great views over Melaka and a small chapel and fortress. You won't need much time here. However, seems to be a staple for the many tour groups to the area.

I was totally excited when i see the group of huskies rushing into the room. They were all so well groomed, intelligent, naughty and yet craving for attention at all times ( that's if you have dog biscuits in your hand). The place can be accessed quite easily using Grab transport services. Love this place 😍

It is a very nice place to relax and chill with doggies. They have a lots of husky over here, you can play with them and enjoy touching fluffy husky over here. They also have a separated session for other doggies which u can add on after the husky session.

What an amazing experience! Both the Husky and the Inu Session were fantastic. You really get A LOT of time to cuddle and interact with the dogs. Everything is organized perfectly and all employees are super nice. I strongly recommed this to anyone who loves dogs!

Doggo heaven. Stampede of so many Huskies, and a Samoyed ! They will only come to you if you give treatos though, which can be bought there- 2 packets for RM 4. Followed by the Akita, pom, Shiba and husky puppies, which you get to carry ♥️ Get ready to be slobbered on and covered in floofs. No shoes inside so best to wear slippers. Can also take an organized picture with the doggos for RM 18 (+10 for digital copy).

They have limited time slots for each session. Check with them before you decide to walk in and wait long. The Huskies are very well trained and are very obedient. They're good with kids too. You can buy some treats and the trainers will guide you on how to properly feed them. The moment the Huskies see you with a treat packet in your hand, they'll swarm you and some would even place their paw on you to get your attention. You can pet them, hug them and cuddle them. I love how their fur smells good like they just finished grooming.

I wanted a different experience for my kids. Initially, I felt it was quite pricey and I left the place feeling that it was all worth it. Staff were very service orientated to ensure all visitors get some time with their fav dog. They were quick to react and always keep a lookout for playful dogs who can be more active than the rest. Overall, I'll do this again when I come to Melaka.

Oh my goodness the dogs are so adorable and well trained! I do not think they are harsh to them as some of the reviews mention as I’m pretty sure the dogs are more than happy. I can see they are very well taken care of! It may be pricey for locals but it is understandable. It is not cheap to take care such big dogs, at such volume. Grooming, vet fees, ac all adds up.

A great place to hang out with the Huskies on the lower floor. Huskies are friendly, approachable, playful and with high energy. Advance booking is advised. For dog lovers who prefer the calmer behavior, Inus on the higher floors loves cuddles and hugs.

My family had a wonderful time, so 5 stars! The dogs were amazingly friendly and obedient. This place focus more on quality time interacting with the dogs, rather than the drink. But to get voluntary attention of the dog , buying treats is a must. But the trainer will help bring the dogs over for some photo moments using your own camera. So that is a plus. As for the Japanese Shiba Inu, the trainer actually place the dog onto your lap.

My family and I had so much fun during our visit to The Huskitory. We were overwhelmed with the huskies… the trainer and the staffs were so patient to teach us how to feed them. A must go visit place when you visit Malacca!

A place for dog lovers. A 1 hour session with a group of huskies which you can pet or take photos with them. You may also purchase some biscuits and feed the doggies. At the end of the session you can choose to take a picture together with the dogs for RM20. Overall a nice and clean place. The dogs are also clean and quite well trained. You have to contact them to book a slot and make payment to confirm your visit.

It's a double storey corner converted to Huskitory. You can park car at the roadside. We went on Thursday morning 11am by advance booking , cost RM35 per pax. Please be on time if you don't want to miss the huskies entrance. There were another couple with us on that session only so it is not as crowded as weekend. The huskies are very cute, and let us hugging and cuddling them. We bought 3 small pack of dog treats, cost RM5 and feed the huskies and they loved it and keep surrounded you. The 2 dog caretakers are friendly too and will put the huskies on your lap and let you take photos with the huskies. The 1 hour session is truly fun and enjoyable. Last session is photo session with huskies line up at the front. It's optional cost RM55 for 1 photo with frame, we took the photo session and it really worth it as the photo is super nice. Highly recommended for adults and teenager group. Parent need to pay extra attention if bring babies and small kids.

The view from top is good but the ride is too short and the rotations are too fast to even take proper pictures and see the city. At the entrance they lie to take photos saying that the photos are for records but later try to sell badly edited photos for a premium. Okay for one time.

Located next to Malacca River, Pahlawan Mall The ride brings you up 80m to the top to get a bird's eye view of Malacca The ride is smooth and comfortable. It will rotate a few time at the top. Best time to ride is at night for the beautiful skyline. Carpark is just outside and trishaw ride is also available.

Taming Sari Tower is a major attraction in downtown Malacca. At the highest peak of 105m or 24 floors, you can enjoy panoramic views across the city center. Since there is only one tower, so on weekends or school holidays will be crowded with visitors. Probably a long line to get into the tower. There is limited parking, and the best option is to simply book a pick -up from your hotel. Don't forget to bring your identity card as it must be shown when buying tickets. A local child or who or is addressed in Malacca on the identity card, will buy tickets cheaper than others.

View on top is beautiful, the platform will rotate 360°. Great view of Bandar Melaka from above. Ticket price is RM17 for local adults and RM15 for kids. It took 7 minutes of experience. Kids will have an excitement to go high up there. Not so suitable for people who are feared of heights.

Initially I was really skeptical about it but tried. It is a decent experience. The Malecca city can be observed from the rotating platform. It could also be a great place to watch the massive ships passing through the straight. The ticket price includes a water bottle. This place has paid toilets.

Overall Experience: An Hour ++ wait for 7 Minutes Ride.. For me personally, is worth it.. The view at night is spectacular to see the city night lights itself.. I can imagine in the day time, to be able to see the Sea View, truly spectacular.. Ride itself: Everyone will be allocated a sit. I had so many trips to Malacca before but this is my first ride. Waiting time was between 10 minutes. Free water bottle with every ticket purchased. Close at midnight during my visit which was school holiday. Wonderful view from above, more comfortable than with ferris wheel.

Fair price for tourist, a discount if you are 55 yrs old or more. The view on clear day was exceptional. The viewing platform is air conditioned and rotates for a 360° view of Melaka. Worth a visit.

It went really high. If you have fear of heights try to not look directly below you. Instead look at the horizon, it's so much better and more beautiful. You get an aerial view of the town and it's much prettier at night. You will have to wait in line before your turn but stand fans are provided if you find it too hot. Water bottles are provided in the package when you first pay for the entrance fee.

For us, it was a pretty nice addition to get an overview of the city and to realise the changes over the centuries. The ride itself isn’t that spectacular, but you can rent binoculars for RM 5. The speed and movement are not so scary, so you can do this with the kids, too. A 360-panoramic view for an affordable price (RM 76 for two adults and two kids)is absolutely fine . If the wind blows too hard, the tower will be temporarily closed.

They also prepare binocular to be borrowed if you wish with free mineral water. If you wish to have a good picture with taming sari as your back ground, you could just redeem your photo after enjoying the view in their local shop.

I came with my family including my special son. I bought tickets online. The staff were all very kind because they gave way to us who brought a special child who uses a wheelchair. Handicap parking is also available. When we got to the top we could all see the view of the entire city of Melaka. Very beautiful👍🏻👍🏻

The church is a well known landmark in Malacca and is worth checking out when in the old part of the city. Malacca has a lot of history and was under three different colonial powers and before that, a powerful sultunate and this diverse history shows. This church is reminiscent of the Dutch colonial rule in Malacca.

Interesting place to visit. The atmosphere here is very warm and friendly. There's a pedestrian along the river and it's a long path to walk. Was here in September, and it was quite a hot season there, even at night the wind was minimal. I think Melaka is an area that tends to be warm. But being here at night is very romantic too. We can even take a boat that goes around the river area and enjoy the cool breeze with safe speed and safety standards. Along the main road across from Christ Church there are food vendors which are worth a try, often busy but the prices are very affordable.

If you're in Kuala Lumpur and planning to visit Malaysia, Melaka is a must-visit city just about 2 hours away. You can easily catch a bus without prior bookings. The city is so vibrant that you will definitely fall in love with it. The Christ church is a popular spot and gets very crowded by 12pm, so visiting early in the morning is the best option. You can also experience its peaceful side before the crowds gather. Do take the evening boat ride on the Melakka river. I would personally suggest staying atleast one night in Melakka as the city comes alive during night.

Originally painted in white but re painted in red in 1911 which gives it, it's significant color of Dutch - era buildings. The Portuguese lost possession of Malacca to the Dutch in 1641 and the church being Catholic could have been destroyed by the Dutch, who were mainly Protestant, but contrary to usual practice, they decided to preserve it and reconsecrate it as a Dutch Protestant church calling it “Bovenkerk” (“High Church”). The Dutch ruled Malacca from 1641 to 1824 and they used St. Paul’s Church for worship until 1753 when they completed the Christ Church in Malacca Square.

Christ Church Melaka is a very nice red church. As you can see, inside it looks very nice and grand. On the pathway of going to the church, they are selling some keychains and coins of Melaka places and interesting things. Historical spot with many options to dine at corner of this church. We stayed a night with my close friend in this city to enjoy the scenery. A must visit again now that we have our respective families. It will not take more time to take a bus from Singapore to this place, and from this place to KL Malaysia. I will for sure visit again this historical place with the wife and kids so I can give them the chance to explore and learn culture of this heritage city in Malaysia. See you soon Melaka!

A bit disappointed by the signage as it was a bit misleading. It said that the church was open for visiting when it was actually closed but it might’ve been a mistake on my part as well because if I’m not wrong, the church closes by 5 PM. Other than that, it was beautiful to recall my memories in the Netherlands by seeing the brick red colour of the Dutch styled church, the presence of Dutch and Portuguese colonialism was evident from a lot of the architecture and street names of that area

Beautiful church which was free to visit. You can get souvenirs from the gift shop where you enter.

* great ambience. * Very clean area and toilet. * Located on a busy street hence parking might be a challenge. * Good security. * Most of the time the staff are not around (there is one aunty there that is always around) but them a call and they are ready to help. *There is an overall silence in this hostel which is good when you need a snooze. Everyone is very mindful of each other and it holds a great concept. * Stairs are abit too steep so if you have knee issues this could be a challenge. *Free bike for rent here so you don't need to shell out extra for renting a bike to be used around Malacca. *Convenience store right opposite the hostel. * Eateries are also within walking distance.

I spent 3 weeks in sayang hostel. First as a customer, and then as a volunteer. It was a wonderdul experience, Lisa and Carole are so friendly, always available to help. The hostel is nice, good location, and you get free breakfast in a local restaurant, free bikes, free water... The place to stay in Melaka !

This temple carries at least 100 years of history for the local Chinese to pray everyday and packed especially during public holidays. This is where you look out for the culture and custom of Chinese migrants. Definitely worth the visit.

Cheng Hoon Teng Temple is Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism temple and one of the oldest in Msia. Many people came here to pray to Goddess Kuan Yin.

The temple is actually a Hokkien assembly hall built by Chinese Hokkien immigrants during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Unlike other assembly halls that mainly focus on Taoism, this shrine is dedicated to both Buddhism and Taoism. It worths a visit when touring the old town of Melaka

Beautiful temple which has a history going back 400+ years. Good to see the temple being maintained well despite so many years. Happened to have a chat with an aunty which is a volunteer in the temple. Signed up for blessings thru the year with a small fee. I also observed some tourist seeking blessings from the deities with the aid of a local guide. Good to see the openess in experiencing a foreign religious experience. Admission is free by the way.

As one of the oldest Buddhist temple in M'cca. it was given a facelift for the past years. A street within 200 meters in a same row house a Mosque, Hindi temple & Buddhist temple, harmony was practise century ago.

Beautiful temple in the heart of Melacca. Signs were informative, in English as well as other languages. Very well maintained and easy to access for all visitors. A museum is also coming soon, although I’m not sure of the opening date. No tickets required to visit

Amazing history and oldest functioning buddhist temple in malysia. For this reason, a visit is a must. Behind is a huge cemetery of local chinese who were amongst the first to arrive in Melaka. The cemetery has a walking trail and lots of established trees planted many years ago, providing shelter from the heat. This is a popular stop off for tourist trips

A temple with rich history...as such, you can see many tour guides with groups of tourists in the compound. It can get super crowded. Do take the opportunity to explore the backyard too.

I recently visited the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and would give it a solid 4 stars. It's a nice, small temple that offers a peaceful break from the bustling city. Although there wasn't much information provided about the temple's history or significance, the serene atmosphere made up for it. I spent about 15 minutes there, which felt just right to take in the calm and beauty of the place. Plus, the free entry is a bonus. It's a lovely spot for a quick and reflective visit.

Took the kids to history monuments/fort in Melaka so that they can learn and know more history of Melaka besides learning from school/book. Such an amazing architecture during Dutch times. Come on weekdays as it's less crowded than weekend so we can enjoy the scenery.

On the small hill stands a symbol of a bygone era. The colonial history is condensed into the explanations on each plaque. The site of this ruins isn't large; you can explore it within half an hour. Due to its elevated location, you can overlook the scenic Malacca port from here.

For a history nerd like me, i LOVE A'fomosa. I recommend to come here at a weekday night around 10pm. Very small crowd (none at the St Francis), so i can take time to explore and stare at the building

An interesting historical place with architecture that is more than a hundred years old. Gain more knowledge about the history of Malacca and Malaysia in general. Next to the shopping complex and many dining options. Don't forget to take photos as a very interesting personal memory.

Free entry. Street parking is difficult to secure but it's near a shopping mall so you can just park at the shopping mall and walk here. The fort itself is well preserved. I think they rebuilt the stairs relatively recently; the pathways are clean and easy to climb. Recommend getting to know some of the history behind it before coming here so it has a bigger impact

A Famosa is a well re-enforced structure of an old Portuguese Fort. It was established in the early 1514 by the Portuguese when they had complete usurp of this land; a war between the Portuguese and Sultanate. If you love history, these old walls would bring you a glimpse of history of South East Asia. When you walk up the hill to Church of Saint Paul, you can catch a view the sea facing Malacca.

Love these historical locations, it really brings you back in time. The building is worth a visit, the cannons give you that sense of what our ancestors went through to defend their land & you can see how heavy these were to try & move into position. Great place overall & we'll be back again when in the region.

Not much of it left but if your close by worth spending a few minutes to see some history. On the hill behind it stands an old Portuguese built church which has some old head stones on display, also provides a good lookout from there.

The original site of Malacca Palace. Free admission. Basically it's an old grave aged more than 100 years, of the government officials from the Portuguese era. Nice view from above. The place is clean and well maintained. And the rest... remains history...

If you have a passion for heritage buildings and the stories they hold, this place will captivate you. However, if historical architecture doesn't intrigue you, it might seem like just another ancient relic, albeit with some decent views. We ventured up to St. Paul's Church and explored A Famosa around 00:30, friday night. The area was deserted, silent, and embraced by a gentle breeze. This serene atmosphere allowed us to truly appreciate the beauty and historical significance of the buildings, free from the usual throngs of tourists.

Historical place to visit in malaca. A famosa was a Portuguese fort. Now its a ruin of that fort. The fort was destroyed by british. in 1811 the British destroyed all of the original fortress and most of the outer walls. The site of this ruins isn't large; you can explore it within half an hour. Due to its elevated location, you can overlook the scenic Malacca port from here. If you want to go up to the old church building I suggest you take their route from the museum. The pathway is easier to walk.

Revisiting this place after many years but this is the first time I am writing a Google review of it. I think many people aren't aware that the building on the top of the hill used to be a church. I see people touching, stepping and even kicking the tombstones! Please have some respect for the dead! I was shocked to find that some irresponsible individuals have scribbled their names and graffiti on the tombstones. Kinda spoiled my trip to a famosa and the Church of Saint Paul up on the hill.

I have been to this place about 38 years ago and the City keeps getting better and better. I can see that the old historical sites are well preserved. I was happy to see many School teachers and students showing the Historical sites and monuments to their students. A true UNESCO World heritage site that is worth the visit. This time around I visited the sites with my family and it was certainly a privilege to be back.

Nice place to explore and overlook most parts of Melaka, can get pretty crowded on peak hours, especially during the weekend, that needs to be considered, other than that, a nice sight, close to the Jonker Walk and Melaka river.

This is an old ruins place and really nothing to see except some artillery on the display. Climbing up is steep and nothing really much to expect on the top. There are artists selling their work on the stairs uphill and spot some stray cats. View of Melaka around is not that great to climb onto much. However if you wish to visit, make sure to wear comfortable shoes and attire with some water bottle with you. Do not try it if you have some health issues to climb up and down. Not recommended for all except if you really have something to do with history.

The walking street has many temples, with views from above. There are many tourists coming here. This is an ancient fortress built by imperialist countries, now only partial ruins remain. The fortress has bold European architecture. A great destination

The museum boasts a number of collection but they are mostly limited to dioramas and paintings of historical events that occurred in the past. Lighting is a bit dim, often some information are delivered in large chunks which discourages visitors from reading them. Its easily a one-hour destination since there isn’t much to see here. After learning about Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat, we enter the galleries of different traders, palaces, and royal attires. This is without a doubt interesting, but often times I have a difficult time contextualizing some of this to the Melaka Sultanate. For example, why the head-dress is worn in different styles across regions is unclear why (as to what it symbolizes). It would be nice if the museum could offer curated tours and guides for those who are genuinely interested in learning about Malacca’s culture and history. Going back to lighting, I noticed the museum had an ample amount of windows as part of its architecture. These can easily be a source of light but they are kept close althroughout the compound. Certain galleries are located on the second floor and there are no elevators for wheelchairs users. The museum also lacks seating areas. I believe the museum would benefit from having benches in the exhibition rooms so that visitors don’t have to rush looking at the collection. There is also a park located at the front of the museum that is a bit rundown and unmaintained. I was a bit disappointed as I was expecting to learn much more at this museum but it turned out as a much better ‘photo op’ rather than a museum. In all fairness, the structure does tell a story about Traditional Malay Palaces and I would still recommend this for those who are unfamiliar to all sort of Malay history. But those with a bit of background to the roots of Melaka, will notice the amiss to the potential of this museum.

Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum This building is a reconstruction of the Palace of Sultan in Malacca Sultan rule Malacca before the arrival of Portuguese. There are many legend from the sultan era. One of the popular legend is about 2 warrior called Hang Tuah and Han Jebat Both are martial art expert and a Laksamana (Malay word for Admiral) Visit and learn more about the legend

A replica wooden structure which takes the visitor through displays, illustrations and stories from the days of the Malaccan Sultanate. The Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat story was particularly poignant - Moral of the Story: "Don't follow your leader blindly." 😉 Highlight for the kids? Strong air-conditioning in the main section 😂 RM5 & RM3 per entry for adults and kids respectively if local. Will probably occupy for 45-60min.

The overall quality in most of museums in Melacca is abysmal, and by comparison this one is a tiny smidge better, but still not worth the 20 RM entrance. I expected nothing and still disappointed. The narrative and storytelling is non-existent and it's boring as hell. Positive reviews come from people who don't know any better, unfortunately. Do yourself a favour and have a coffee and cake on this money instead. I loved the historic massage chairs inside and this one guy who had mastered an ancient craft of levitating, apparently. Inside it's all modern replicas of various traditional costumes.

This really is a must see while in Melaka given the palace was reconstructed through the traditional method which used no nails, only wood joinery. It’s an exceptional work of art! Unfortunately, the displays inside suffer from the same outdated methods seen in other Melaka museums. The info is much better organized, but the mannequins are sometimes in strange poses, there’s no interactive displays in this digital age, and throughout various museums here, the same few stories and facts are presented repeatedly. There’s more to Malaysian history and we’d like to see it!

Very nice place unique Palace of Sultan, affordable ticket both for non Malaysian and Malaysian. It a must go . Very beautiful

The entrance needs 20RM for non-Malaysians, it is the museum talking about the old dynasty of Melaka. The price is litter bit high but still affordable compared with the things inside the museum. I think here is the place that you must come to if you come to Melaka. However, don't put the expectation on its garden.

Beautiful place to learn about history of Malacca. The location is just beside the a’famosa. You can rent a traditional clothes like Malay king here to take photos around the palace which cost RM100, a photographer will follow you to help taking photos with your phone if you rent the clothes. Open at 9am until 5.30pm (please refer the photo below). Ticket for Malaysia cost you RM10 for adult and RM5 for kids and elderly.

Fantastic palace design. It does feel like you were at old Melaka ages. The ticket price is consistent with the experience we had. The palace looks well kept, only the front garden looks abandoned for a long time. Overall it is a good place to visit.

Lovely building, but the displays and interpretation could do with an update. It’s like walking into a museum of the 80s with its dusty dioramas. The garden needs some looking after - the landscaping would have been nice once upon a time but it’s fallen into disrepair with broken bridges and upended paths. One thing to be aware of is they kick you out at 12pm “to pray”. They told us we could return at 2.15pm when it reopens, but it would have been nice to have been told about this impending closure when we bought our tickets at 11.30am. I think the communication and organisation of the museums of Malaka could do with a shake up. Malaka had such an interesting history and it needs to be told.

conveniently located at stadhuys area. if you're driving, you need to park away from the area and walk quite far, need to climb st paul's hill, so it is advised to just take a grab. its a large area with lots of display. got plenty of seating areas as well. worth a visit.

Replica of Melaka Palace. The origin palace is bigger actually. Management should do a landscape for the forbidden garden. Simple, nice museum. Cool aircond. Suitable for kids. And the rest... remains history...

Overpriced for what's inside. A bunch of western-looking manekins wearing local clothes and some bad paintings depicting daily life. The building itself is beautiful but the exhibition is badly maintained. Didn't learn much from it.

$20 for tourist, no artifacts just texts explaining the sea history of Melaka. Staff asked to take a photo of me (those souvenir) i refuse as I told them I not buying any photos then guy replied ‘verify number of visitors’🤷🏻‍♀️ I still refused to ve my photo taken. Require to remove shoes prior to entering the small musuem…just when u think it’s over after exit, there’s another museum beside the toilet which requires the removal of shoes again

It was an ok experience. Wished the photo taking session wasn't compulsory. I had to wait for a big grp to assemble and have their photo taken before I could proceed. 😅

It was a memorable visit and my wife was impressed by the galleon mock up condition. I provided my wife with some documentary notes on the Flore De La Mar to make this trip more informative. Good job on the maintenance of this historic vessel.

We've visited a couple of times. Great place for both individuals and families alike to learn a bit about the history of Melaka. Since it's air-conditioned, perfect for escaping the outdoor heat too 😆 Ticket price is reasonable at RM10/adult and RM5/child (Malaysian) which also covers entrance to Muzium TLDM across the road.

An intriguing concept, but I found the exhibit on the ship to be rather small. However, the ticket does include access to three museums. On the ship you can delve deeper into the history of Portuguese activities in Malacca.

The whole area is beautiful. The world heritage city Malakka and this Museum is close to quey where one can take boat ride. The museum was closed when i visit, hence it is better to go before 3 PM to this place. If you plan to visit Malakka, go in the afternoon to return late night. After you visit over 10 museums you can enjoy lightings and lots of street music played to diffrent groups. They usually turnup by 7 in the eve.

Was last at this museum when I was a child and thought that the ship was cool and I still think so upon visiting again recently. Also quite interesting to learn about Melaka's history as a port even though the museum is not very big. A must-see for me.

You can visit once and can spend around 1hr here.. This is 3building to visit 1. Ship - Access to the ship was a good experience. 2. Next building with paintings about culture, sea life etc 3. Other building located opposite to the road - you can explore flights and etc.

Gave a good insight to the history and occupation of malacca with the Dutch and Portuguese. May be difficult to get around for people with mobility problems. Internal exhibits very good.

Cool place to visit. The historical part with Portuguese and Dutch history on the city is interesting. Some other parts on sea life and the port were also present. Quite pricey for a Malaysian Museum with a normal price of 20MYR and CASH only.

It’s a very informative and interesting museum, but only in the main ship itself. The museum on the side is okay. With a few unexplained exhibition. The ship interior is well air conditioned. However some pointers to note is that they accept QR code payment, the best is to use this function. The cashier at the entrance tried to overcharge us. There was 2 adults (RM20 each) and 2 children (RM10 each), which should sum up to RM60. However he tried to charge us RM90. We clarified thrice before he unwillingly replied RM60 after the fourth clarification. They also force you to take photos before entering the ship stating that is for recording who went up and into the ship. But at the end prints it out and try to force you to buy. The idea of having your photo exposed or used as an advertisement for their photo services is rather infuriating. Hope they can do something about it.

Maritime Museum is a museum about maritime activities in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia. It was officially opened to the public by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on 13 June 1994, began with phase one. The phase two of the museum is housed in the old Guthrie building and was opened by State Committee for Tourism, Culture and Environment Chairman Poh Ah Tiam on 23 May 1998. The museum main exhibits the replica of Flor do Mar with 34 metres high, 36 metres long and 8 metres wide; houses exhibits, artifacts and documents from the golden era of Malacca and shows how political control of Malacca was essential to the establishment of maritime dominance in the region and also displays the trading link of Malacca from the early time through the colonial era until independence.

It was a wonderful experience visiting here. A very good place to bring kids to understand the history of Melaka

Everything was OK except the photo souvenir staff, i was about to take my wife's picture with a souvenir background while holding our photo souvenir and one staff suddenly grabbed the photo and told us to pay for it, its not polite at all

Morning and midnight session. Morning wake up to the serenity of a very calm river. Cruise plying the river with tourists on board creates wave crescendo one after another. Both are excellent scinerios of lives in Malacca.

Strongly recommend visit in the sunset. Breath taking nature view. Boat ride is a must. Colourful and visual treat.

At the entrance of Jonker Street, you will see beautifully and colourful lightings. There's a lot of colourful Malacca trishaw for a ride too. It's happening at night. You may take a river cruise along Malacca River.

View is so classic for photography day and night. Hard Rock Cafe is just along the street too. You could get tickets for the cruise to tour along the river. I personally enjoy walking on foot to stop and look at the shop and eateries.

The view is superb, especially at night when the lights on everywhere. Like it very much.
