Monkey Forest is the perfect attraction for all ages and a respite from the heat. You can spend a long time watching the monkeys play with each other. The park itself is beautiful. There are amazingly detailed statues everywhere. The monkeys are great just follow the rules. Don't make eye contact and carry your belongings tight. There are many ancient banyan trees. You may only need a couple hours at most to see everything. Definitely a place to see if you're in Ubud.

You go for the monkeys - and you get many monkeys. If you want to have a selfie with a monkey - you will have to buy a separate ticket for that. When being surrounded by monkeys, try not to open your bag, as monkeys are very curious and then they try to get whatever you have in your bag. Just take care of your stuff and hold it securely. Otherwise, monkeys are definitely not aggressive or interested in you, so you feel safe. There are security cameras everywhere just in case. And the forest itself is majestic and amazing too.

A very nice and clean monkey forest in the middle of Ubud. It's very serene and calm as it's full of tall old trees, growing around a small river. There are statues everywhere, covered in green moss. You can also see a few temples and a cemetery (for the people in that village) within the monkey forest. There are a lot of cute monkeys to see. Just remember not to disturb them. The monkeys here are pretty friendly though, not as aggressive as the ones in Sangeh.

Would not do this again. The monkey forest is not a sanctuary. It is a tourist trap designed for people to indulge in exploitative photo opportunities with monkeys. These beautiful animals deserve better. We saw a Chinese tourist exiting one of the First Aid centres on his way to hospital after being bitten as well as two young girls foolishly holding a water bottle being chased by a monkey. Signs clearly state no water bottles. They also state "no feeding monkeys", yet the staff use food to get monkeys to sit and climb on tourists for pictures. This has conditioned the monkeys to climb on people. We kept our distance. All of my pictures were taken with a zoom lens and we kept moving, Staying still had you surrounded by monkeys who do not understand the difference between someone sitting down to rest and someone paying to have a picture taken by using food as an incentive. Beautiful Forest but not entirely comfortable with monkeys being used as props. I love monkeys but they are wild and deserve respect 🐒 I felt very sad for these monkeys and at times nervous for my safety 🐒 🙈 Edit update: the responses to poor reviews by the owner are a clear picture of what you get when you visit.

Being from India, monkeys aren't really a tourist attraction for me, but I would still recommend a visit to the monkey forest. We visited during the rains, dense cover of trees, multiple shades of green, with amazing architecture and statues and a river! All this in the middle of the city! Such serene calm place. The staff is super friendly. Don't bother the monkeys.

There is no doubt the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a truly unique and magical place. You get to see more than 1400 monkeys in a beautiful forest packed with exotic vegetation, unique sculptures and Hindu temples. However, the locals and tourists nearly ruined the place with large amount of trash. It is sad to see baby monkeys chewing toilet paper and play with plastic water bottles as their toy. The management could have done so much better to control the waste in this place.

We spent a few hours here in the afternoon and it was stunning! As the title depicts, it is a forest setting with free roaming monkeys! It's is incredible and I am so glad we went! Admission is really reasonable, and the money assists the upkeep and running of the reserve. The monkeys are adorable and cheeky. They aren't phased by the number of people around but give them their space also. However if you have food or drink, they will come and assume it is for them. Best leave those snacks at home or in a bag. There are also many sacred sites around the lot, many of them containing temple scriptures which are stunning, but off limits to those who are not there for prayer. If you are in the area, be sure to stop in!

Monkeys here are most welcome to human than any other forest monkey Bali has. They're not naughty at all...as long as you follow the rule for what's not to bring inside the forest. A guide will help you to tell you history of a place, take photos and get monkey closer with no standard rate to pay them.

Wonderful experience. A nice place to explore. The temples and statues are interesting to see, alongside the main attraction, the monkeys! We visited on a Saturday afternoon at 4PM. I thought it might be busy with tourists, but it wasn’t too bad. As time went on the place became quieter. We walked around the whole complex and saw so many monkeys. Incredible. We had no issues with the monkeys. After reading reviews I didn’t take any loose items (water, sunglasses, jewellery); we were not bothered by them. I carried my phone and my husband had a bum bag. We kept our distance from the monkeys and respected them in their habitat. Read and follow the rules and you’ll have a great time. 🙏 Such a lovely place, suitable for the whole family.

Loved this place, monkeys are funny but be careful of them. If you don’t irritate them then won’t bother you. Kids need to be careful of them and their belonging. The forest is a delight to roam around. The topical rain forest near the town of ubud is fascinating to witness. Sometimes the monkeys go out of the forest to the town and shops but the come back as they have abundant food and shelter here. You need 2 hours if you want to leisure around in the forest.

The place's quite big, beautiful, and you can lost in the moment while enjoying the views here. If you're not a fan of animals (especially monkeys) and nature, I don't recommend you here please don't wear glasses, hat, or bring anything on your hand such as phones or bottles. because some of the monkeys will try to steal your goods 😅

The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is home to over 1,200 monkeys. As you walk alongside them, you can also check out all the elaborate temples in the area. Great place to see lots of Monkeys! 🙈🙉🙊 Loved the statues and carvings, forest itself and the Temple. It can be very busy though...but the place is big enough to find quieter corner. We had the most fun here today exploring this jungle like temple place with several different monkey families living freely. Must visit for once.👍🏻

If you like animals, this is a must go place. Tickets are not expensive and there were no long queues to buy tickets. Throughout the park there are lots of park rangers who are taking care of animals and making sure visitors are safe and do not touch monkeys. Monkeys usually do not bother people unless you are carrying paper or plastic bags, or bottled water/juice then they will try to steal it from you. It was funny to see how a monkey stole a bottle then opened it to drink the water out of the bottle 😊 Just follow the park guidelines and you will have a ton of fun and amazing photos.

It was fun to walk around lots of monkey. It was good to see that they are not kept there with fences, the monkeys are living there voluntarily and they leave whenever they want. There are many signs saying that monkeys can be aggressive but nothing bad happened when we kept the rules. We didn’t look them in the eye or touch them. Just when I sat, a monkey came and sat on my lap, looked my hand if I have anything interesting for it :) then it climbed on my shoulder but it didn’t scratch or hurt. The forest itself is very peaceful as well.

A fascinating place with plenty to see and do. It can get a bit crowded as I went on a Monday morning. While it was busy, there was still room to move about and take pictures without other people in the shot. The scenery is almost magical, everything is so green with temples scarred throughout. Of course there are the monkeys which really are all over the place. I didn’t see any overly aggressive behavior but I did see 1 younger monkey running off with a beaded necklace. I am not sure how much parking was as I haven’t paid yet. Tickets to enter are 80k IDR per foreign adult. My iced coffee after the wall was 50k IDR (fairly small compared to Thailand). The vanilla latte was quite refreshing.

Extraordinary experience we had in this monkey forest in the heart of Ubud. The tickets are cheap, and the place is easily accessible by taxis. The monkeys are not that aggressive, but you have to careful with them. And rule number one: take off sunglasses, and other accessories which could be easily stolen from you. The forest is much bigger than I expected. We were walking around for an hour and half. Every recommendation for the tourists.

Good spot to try the swing, photos and just relax with the view. Doesn’t have much trail for walk and explore further. Free of charge. Car parking located nearby. We park at the restaurant so there is no charges and then enjoy cold drinks with infinity pool

A beautiful rice field terrace!! You will take a look from any point and you will feel like in a fairy tale. A magical wild space surrounded by all kind of trees and plants and where you can find animals like chickens or snakes living by themselves. Around the field there are lots of cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy breakfasts or drinks watching the view. Also you can swing from the heights. A very recommended it place!!

Really nice place to visit! Would definitely recommend parking in the free parking where you can find it. A lot of people are on the road asking for you to pay to visit the rice terrace and walk among them but if you walk further up the road you can just access them for free and have a better view around them. The whole area is based around tourists, and the place feels slightly like a tourist trap. There are swings over the terraces and ziplines, etc. The views really are lovely and worth visiting, but I would be careful about what you pay for!

This rice terraces are amazing, at the entrance the have different packages depending how many activities your are interested, meaning swings, basket swings and some other activities. I did the swing over the rice terrace, is a little bit scary but fun, scary because the you are getting into the seat all that you see is hill down like 50 feet down, when the pushed you, you are about 75 feet up from the ground, and when you look up the swinger is held to two palm trees that they move in and out accordingly with the movements, but is really fun. The place is very instagramable, a lot of nest made with lianas. You can also walk hill down to a little creek then go up to the other side of the hill where they have other swings and places where you can take really nice pictures. This place is fun.

One of the highlights of Ubud. Absolutely stunning rice terraces. Don't be put off by the naff touristy stuff (swings etc) near the start, but instead do the easy hike that takes you on a long loop around the terraces. Truly beautiful. Well worth stopping at one of the many little huts for a drink and to soak in the view.

Our guide, Dewa, knew all the places to take us and the best times to avoid lines! We got here relatively early in the morning and grabbed our tickets for zip lines and swings asap. The staff was all great to work with and made sure we all had a great experience. We finished up grabbing ice creams before we left as the heat and humidity of the day were already cranking up.

The rice terraces themselves are quite beautiful and remarkable, and alone would be a 5star rating. But for me giving the overall experience a 3 would be over generous. If you like the mass tourism machine in full swing then you’ll give this rice terrace area a 5. In saying that it probably doesn’t matter which of the more famous terrace area you visit it will be the same mass commercial tourism experience.

Amazing place and a must see if you are in Ubud! The rice fields are beautiful and the swing is a fun experience as well. There are several photo opportunities for couples and families. It was very hot and humid so we left after a few hours, but I can see myself spending a full day here.

It's definitely nice, but a major tourist trap at this point. Plenty of beautiful rice paddies around Bali where people don't try to get money from you.

Lovely rice terraces and I enjoyed a nice drink at the cafes facing it. It was a beautiful view. Going later has its advantages as its cooler and not brave the hot noon sun. However there's lots of flies and insects so bring your insect repellent with you. Worth a visit.

Really beautiful rice terrace. Required to pay 25,000 Rupiah per pax at the entrance. Swing adventure and rental of dress is available. The crew manning the swing takes really good photos using your mobile. Expect to spent about 2 hours (with some rest) in total here.

It was dry season and the rice have been harvested when we visited so we didn't get to enjoy the view. You'll need to pay entrance fee before you can go down and have a hike along in the terraces. Best time to visit during rainy season because it is the time when they grow rice. Visited on November 04 Saturday

Overall, it was a good experience. Little pricey for entry and the wait time to buy a ticket was a little long.. very popular spot, though, with tourists. Didnt find the girl on the desk to be very friendly and happy to be there - just seemed like a robot with a blank smile and kept looking around constantly. Preoccupied, maybe? Fields were okay.. pretty views, though. Shame you charge extra for the swings and stuff as this is just a cash-grab. The exit directions on the rice fields were a little confusing, and trying to find our way out took ages. This was a spot our driver recommended to us. May recommend to family and friends visiting. Our entry was 50,000 each and upon entering the view is beautiful. The main terrace is littered with swings and people taking photos which is fine but does feel very touristic. We enjoyed sitting, having a beer and taking in the view. The same could have been done for less from one of the nearby coffee shops which look over the terrace. Overall I think it's ok experience, if you want to take the swing photo (they do charge for it extra).

So worth going. If you're interested in seeing how the rice is grown and harvested or wanting a great picture on the many swings and hanging seats, this is a must see. There is also a random bike on a wire and zip line for the more adventurous

There are multiple entrance to visit the rice terrace area but on average entrance cost is the same at 10k IDR. Since I went here on the morning, amplified by the rain on the previous night, the path down along the rice terrace was quite slippery. I'd recommend coming here after 9am or at around 3pm to get the best light.

The quintessential Ubud attraction. Beautiful greenery all around albeit a bit commercialized. You can park in one of the nearby places, enjoy view from one of the many restaurants and cafes or you can trek down all the way or trek to the Swing. Enough and many photo opportunities to be had. A small entry fee and "donation" needs to be paid but seems worth the price. Come here during early morning or late evenings as afternoons can get unbearably hot.

Great views - best to go early morning before it gets hot (you can walk all the way around the terraces). The best views are not at the main entrance but further along. Wouldn't recommend prepaying for the swings, you can always pay directly if you decide to have a go (there are better options compared to the "official" ones). There's a decent day club with swimming pools by the exit on the other side.

I had an assumption that there was a free entry, but the security guard directed us to the ticket office. It cost 50k per person, just to enter. They said that we would be able to use photo points for free... What a scam, there were a few framed points where I would have to pay 5k.. not even close to 250k I paid for the family entry. Overall a nice Instagram place, but so artificial, real terraces look different, and absolutely free!

Highly recommended for a visit giving insight into tradition and beauty of ancient practices. Something for everyone here. From sedentary observation to full immersion activities*. I am a fit 70 year old and made it down to the bottom, up the other side and back but beware: these are traditional terraces cut out of the permanently irrigated hillside. UK standards of H&S do not apply. Don't let the mention of huge swings and zip wires put you off - they do not detract from the experience.

Ceking Rice Terrace is a great stop if you're out for the day or on a private/self-guided tour. Cost was 50k IDR or around $3 USD to walk it. The location isn't too big, which makes walking the entirety of it very manageable even in the heat. It's a decent mix of touristy yet still retains its natural beauty, meaning you can enjoy some fun amenities suck as the swings or zip lines while still seeing the step fields. If photos are your thing, then you'll find no shortage of great points to get some excellent shots in. There's a good selection of refreshments as well. I'd definitely recommend walking the entire site as it won't take long, and you'll get to enjoy all the viewpoints on offer. Well worth the visit!

Very nice place to walk. The view is pretty much rice fields and greens so pretty relaxing! The steps are quite steeps but the path is clear and easy to track where it goes We also met a nice local lady who let us try her basket and hat to take picture with! There's a ticket to enter for Rp 25000 (25k IDR) per person

5 stars for this beautiful location north of Ubud. The price is very reasonable for a 1 to 2-3 hour walk. Here, you can enjoy the rice terraces, take a trekking walk, and get your adrenaline pumping on the giant swings. Absolutely recommended. Don't expect a relaxed stroll 🤫

To be honest.... I'm very disappointed by those rice terraces..... Those are absolutely mate for tourists..... On the way to those rice terraces we saw unknown once which have been 1000% more beautiful! I wouldn't go back there and pay 30k entry fee ..... Rather drive with the scooter around, like we did, and you'll find more beautiful once for free :)

Was really nice and not too crowded but we also went on a rainier day. Paths are quite muddy if it rains. Bali.swing options and dress rental. Many cafes around to have a drink or bite. Toilets are also available.

Nice spot, gets busy at certain times of the day. Lots of sitting areas and a restaurant to order food/drinks. More organised than other 'swing' places, loved this one. Sis and I did the zip line it was fun. The staff help you take good pictures if your into picture taking. Could visit again good service 👍

Beautiful place. It’s better to come early in the morning since there are no shadows during the day and easy to get sunburn. Also very hot to stay under the sun and the path goes up and down all the time. There are some places to take pictures (prepared especially for the tourists) and the place with big swings before the terrace (drivers usually inform about it in case you want to take pictures). We came in February and there was no season for rice harvesting, but if you are lucky to catch that period, workers can explain you the process and guide through it.

Beautiful scenery. Like everything here in Bali you need to pay to enter but that is expected. I think we payed about 10.000 IDR to enter. We also payed to do five different swings. Amazing experience. Would recommend everyone going here to do the swings. We arrived early so there weren’t a lot of people but when we left more people started arriving. Come early if you wish to have the place to yourself. The staff was really cool and the took a lot of photos for us. Felt like a photo shoot.

This terrace is very big and pretty. Also, very turistic, so the approaches by locals around entrance can be intense. There is a fee to pay to get to walk through the rice fields and it varies according to the place you access it. There is what to look like a main entrance with a parking lot and numbers being distributed at entrance where they charge 50k. But if you walk a little to the left (for the perspective of who faces the rice fields) you may find cheaper. I could pay half just by walking 5 minutes.

Beautiful area to wonder around the rice fields with options to try the various swings for Instagram snaps (at an extra cost). There is a free car park by the entrance and you could easily spend a few hours walking around all the different levels. Bring lots of water with you because it does get humid, there are also mini cafes and stalls to get refreshments, and don’t forget to put on bug spray because there are lots of mosquitos !

A lovely walk, not much of a view due to high weeds either side of the path. Would’ve been nice to see the ridge! Lots of people using for their morning run. Beautiful temple at the beginning of the walk. Quite a inconspicuous entry, google maps is super helpful, save offline so you don’t need to use your data 👍🏻

A nice paved walk, best done early in the morning to avoid the heat. There were already a fair amount of people there at 6.30 am, some running! Earlier might be better. We had nice cool juices at the top warung. Beautiful to sit there and enjoy the views from the restaurant over the jungle.

We enjoyed walking about this trail. Some hilly parts but nothing too challenging. You may be able to spot many local flora and fauna such as giant rusty millipedes, monkeys, banana spiders, unique birds, and various insects. Be careful of the traffic on the side of the road as the sidewalk is a little narrow and vehicles dart by quickly.

Great hike. It can get hot. Take water. Beautiful views. There are places for drinks etc. near the end. If you get close to the village amazing restaurants and places to stay. There are a few art galleries.

This is one of Bali's top scenic walks. It is a pleasure passing through beautiful villages, rice fields, and green hills, and being able to enjoy the panoramic view over all these beautiful places. Considering all the stops for the photos it's a relatively short walk (20-30 min). It is much more rewarding if you go early in the morning (when fewer people are there) or in the evening! Once you reach the end of it enjoy the cafes around, have a drink and come back to Ubud central from the same patch (or take a taxi).

Very beautiful ridge walk. It's quite short and I would recommend going early in the morning when there aren't many people. At the end of it you can continue walking past multiple shops that serve breakfast.

Just amazing walk! In the morning or for the sunset! It’s a safe sport and at the beginning are some steps. Not too hard but for wheelchairs not accessible. It’s a holy path so be respectful on the track. By normal walking it takes around 20 mins. Spots for beautiful pics are random on the track. Same as garbage containers. You can spot many amazing animals crawls and cross the the way. Just look at them and have a look, they harmless and just want to pass by. After the track you can go further straight. You will come to an huge rice paddy, in the middle of that is Bamboo Kitchen, that is a must see! Check it out on google maps :)

The temple at the start of the trek near the mini mart is beautiful but it’s only accessible to the locals & apart from that, this is just a walking trek that locals & expats use to get to the next place, to jog, run & walk their dogs. It’s by no means a tourist attraction that’s a ‘must see’ when you’re in Ubud, unless you don’t have anywhere else to catch a nice view of the sunset & sunrise. I’d recommend giving it a miss.

Very nice walking there! Lots of nature around, just still you will see some trash around and not many trash cans, if needed. If you walk from south up north, you will find a mini village full of cafes, spas, warungs at the end.

Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 2 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, running, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Overall, the Campuhan Ridge Walk is a must-visit attraction for anyone visiting Ubud. The stunning views and peaceful surroundings make it a perfect escape from the busy city, and it is a great way to immerse oneself in Bali's natural beauty.

The skies were very clear. Not sure if this is the normal setting but make sure you wear sunscreens. The walk have its ups and downs, literally. With the sun shining brightly, it's very refreshing to have a bottle of cold water. The walk itself actually doesn't have a predefined set. You could stop anywhere or just continue until you find the main road again. If you continue to walk until you are near the main road, you will find a restaurant named Bamboo Kitchen Ubud where you can relax after walking maybe 3-4 kms.

Such a breathtaking place! If you plan to visit, go there a bit before the sunrise to enjoy the scene at maximum and the cool breeze of early morning. The place is suitable for jogging as well. You might bring some water because at that time, the cafés there are still closed. I enjoyed walking on the stone road with bare feet. It felt so connecting to the nature and the view. If you plan to do so, please be careful to step on the right place so you don't harm your feet, and just be cautious of the muddy spaces. Enjoy the best walk of your journey!

Now this is a wonderful walk. Take it steady , and enjoy it 😉. Get your transport to drop you off somewhere before Ubud. Pick a place baced on how far you want to walk so you finish in Ubud. Ubud end would then be on the down hill end. Go and enjoy.

It's an easy trek, suitable for a walk before sunset. Very relaxing, a great getaway from the busy Ubud center. The scenery is quite average though

This is a fairly easy 2 kilometer hike along a paved trail that is easily accessible. You walk off the main road about 400 meters downhill until you reach a bridge. You will see a sign at the bridge pointing you to the right, where you will cross a river on a smaller bridge, then walk alongside a temple to start the trail. The trail is mostly uphill, but paved, so it is easy to walk. There are views of the forest from along the trail, and views of the homes along the tops of the hills. We took about 40 minutes to walk to the top (the north end of the trail) from the starting point on the road, and it was a bit quicker walking downhill on the return. At the northern end (top) of the trail, there is a cafe and a warung where you can get a meal, snacks, dessert, or a drink. They have restrooms available, but only for customers. There are a few shops at the top of the trail, and also an entry “gate” that is great for photos. I would recommend avoiding going on this trail during the hottest part of the day. It can be miserably hot walking the trail in the full sun. Take some water along, too!

super accessible and pretty easy trail to complete, thought the views would be slightly better than they are though. if you continue on there are some pretty rice paddies to look at but the main ridge line is not quite as exciting as expected. worth a visit as part of a day out, maybe 30 mins to the end and another 30 if you walk round to the road instead of doubling back.

The walk began with the gentle sound of the river flowing alongside the path. Its rhythmic babbling seemed to sing a soothing lullaby, harmonizing with the soft rustle of the wind through the trees. The river, a glimmering mirror, reflected the vast, open sky and the lush, green foliage that bordered its banks, creating a scene so peaceful it almost felt surreal. As I ventured further, the path took a turn, unveiling expansive rice fields that stretched as far as the eye could see. These fields, a vibrant green, were like a patchwork quilt, meticulously laid out under the watchful eye of the sun. The sight of farmers tending to their crops, their movements methodical and rhythmic, added a human touch to the vastness of nature. They moved with a grace that spoke of years of tradition and a deep connection to the land. The path itself was a narrow, winding trail, just wide enough for a single person to pass. Five stars simply because this is FREE access to some outdoors and car-free walking :) come early or later in the evening as it isn’t shaded. Also, the trail turns into a small street with shops but then turns to roads that lead to busy streets. After the main art shops, it ends, don’t get confused like me and just wander around the village lol.

Unfortunately not what it used to be. Very over grown now with practically no more views over the valleys on either side of the ridge. Lots more development as well on the northern side. My recommendation, if you have lots of time to spare by all means do it. Otherwise do the sweet orange or sari walks, they are much more scenic.

My loved place for hiking!! Really enjoyed the route and the variety of different landscapes (rice terraces, jungle, coconut trees etc.. it is easy route even for someone who is amateur.

We walked from our hotel as it was all tracks and the scenery is amazing, going through rice fields, alleyways and the ridge walk itself. The track is open and exposed in places and it can get very hot and tiring, so a good hat and water is a must, once you reach the settlement it's easy walk and there's plenty of places for food and drinks, we chose the coconut. Avoid midday as the heat can be intense. Overall a great walk.

It's one of the best place to do some morning walk/jog when you are in Ubud center area. Some dog walking as well We can park our vehicles in school area and then from there just follow the signage or just ask the locals. The first 200 meter will quite a hike but after that mainly flat and abit hike. But overall you will be some sweat and good time enjoying the the nature and if you are early enough sunrise. Toward the other end, there are a few small local cafes where you can stop by and chill out with some drinks.

Goa Gajah is a thousand-year-old magnificent temple with several ponds surrounded by lush trees and beautiful surroundings. It was a calm and soothing experience. This place is less busy when compared to other popular locations in the Ubud region. Goa Gajah was missing informational signage to provide history about this temple.

Nice temple. There will be some people offering you a tour for money. So if you interested in the history, might be good to pay for the tour. Just looking around was also really nice. The Hindu part of it seems to be smaller than the Buddhist part, but both are beautiful. At the parking lot some people will try to sell you the Sargon. I didn’t really saw where you could rent it, but it is possible. If you plan yo visit other temples, might be worthy to buy one. The prices are not cheap tough. Around 150k for one

Goa Gajah temple also known as Elephant Cave temple, is a historical temple in Bali. It has cultural and spiritual significance. The highlight of this temple is that it resembles the face of an elephant upon entering. The temple also includes a garden and a bathing pool. Also, before you enter in the temple,you have to wear a Sarong which will be provided to you at the entrance. No need to buy a Sarong from outside. There are a few shops outside on the street, wherein the shopkeepers tell you to buy a Sarong and tell that you will not get it inside and you will have to buy it from them..don't believe them as they temple already provides Sarongs for all visitors. Also, you will be able to worship Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva inside the small Cave. Overall, It was a good experience to visit this temple,as you are allowed to go inside the temple here where as in most of the temple's in Bali you won't be allowed to go inside the actual temple where the idols are kept.

A beautiful temple with a small cave. You have to walk quite a number of stairs to go down to the main compound. The entrance of the cave is beautiful and unique. I would like to mention that with the entrance fee, the management should at least renovate or build a proper toilet inside the temple. The existing toilet in the temple is very old and dirty.

50,000 is too much for this temple. The statues and nature surroundings are beautiful but people are always trying to sell you things. Also, the cave was filled with smoke from incense when I came so I couldn't really see anything clearly in the cave.

Nice place to see the Indonesian culture, peacefully and green everywhere. The entrance is 4 dollars per person and all the whole tour takes like 2 hours. Bring REPELLENT, lots or mosquitos.

We took a taxi with Grab app from Ubud and it was a quick ride there. Well worth a visit! Impressive temple and a very nice area to walk around. It's an archaeological site so very significant for its relics of ancient Balinese art. The entrance to the cave (meditation room) might be the highlight as it's so unique, but really the entire place is beautiful. There is a small fee to pay at the entrance. They'll give you a sarong (free) at the entrance if you're wearing shorts, so don't bother with those the sellers at the stalls try to sell.

One of the most unique temples that we visited in Bali with its famous “Elephant Cave” and other temple structures. The carvings are amazing, and just have to be seen in person. It’s a bit of a walk down to the temple on long walkways and stairs, but it is worth the time and effort to see something so unique. This temple can be busy as it is a popular place for photos, but avoid the middle of the day if you want to have fewer tourists around. It may take a while to get a photo in front of the elephant cave entrance, as there is usually a line and there will be lots of other tourists wandering around. Take about an hour and a half here or more to be able to do the walk and have time to get photos, as well as explore the temple. Entrance fee is about $3.50 US per person

It was a beautiful temple to visit. Great place for families with little ones. Tips to make this visit a good one: Always bring a sarong to wear in temple so the ladies outside the temple do not get agressive selling sarong to you. Fruit ladies inside the temple offer free fruit to kids as a way to sell later. A guide is not needed for this temple. You can read about it yourself before heading here. It was great to visit.

Holy place for monks. where 7 holy rivers waters is coming ( spring water). Trinity is situated inside the cave. For men- you have to wear full pant or Sarong provided by the temple authority. For women-you have to wear full pant / saree or Sarong provided by the temple authority, During down time, females not allowed. Here you can see the kitchen, nice monuments and holy water. offerings is also allowed. a small spring water fall is there, with lots of lots of trees & greenary. At top budha temple is also there.

We visited Goa Gajah temple in August 2023. Inspite of being the peak season there was not too much rush. There is a nice pond at the entrance with fishes and there is a cave temple inside. There are a few stalls inside the complex and there is ample parking available outside. Sarong is mandatory, however you don't need to purchase them as they are available with the ticket to be returned when you go back.

Beautiful Hindu temple with unique elephant temple. The entrance is intricately designed. Inside elephant temple is small but very historical. The grounds itself are beautiful with central pond and park and waterfall. Wasn't too busy when we went. Entrance fee includes sarong.

It's a nice place for a short visit of maybe one hour. A little walk through a magical forest temple area with a small waterfall and a mysterious cave with this famous face entrance. You have to wear some traditional thing that you get for free at the entrance. The shops before the place try to sell you this, Don't fall for this trap as you get it for free at the entrance anyway. All in all: not that spectacular.

The Elephant Cave temple. UNESCO world heritage. Dated most likely back to the XI century. Walk from the cave down to the waterfall: you will see architectural elements carved into the huge boulders. Reminds you of Lord of the Rings. Wonderful photo opportunities: the cave exterior, the shrine next to it and the waterfalls. Entrance fee: rupiah/cash only.

Not big temple but nice to visit if you’re in ubud. Fee 50k per person. Bring trousers as you can’t enter with shorts or short skirt. Parking: if you come with scooter or car there is big car park and the fee is 2k. TIP: do not buy saroung from shops before buying ticket, temple staff will borrow it for free.

50k fee includes a nice man wearing a sarong for you. But inside, it goes downhill, literally and figuratively. 1. No upkeep. 2. No map/ signages. Can't learn anything about the temple on your own. From Google owner's replies, they only expect you to hire a guide and pay more money. 3. Additional 100k for tour guide. 4. Drying up pond 5. By the river, a monk asks to bless you, but requests for donation after. 6. Budha temple sits a headless Buddha statue????? Had high expectations from all the good reviews, but unfortunately very disappointing experience. Very sad Bali has turned so many interesting temples /places into tourist traps.

This is the only temple in Bali where we could see lingam and god figures. Cave with ornate entrance, ponds, small waterfall, and wonderful trees. There's plenty to admire. There are a couple of restaurants at the entrance.

Commercialism meets religion. On arrival you know what it's all about. A huge carpark with a line of shoddy souvenir stands. Don't worry, you don't need to buy here are more lines of shoddy stands to come. And don't worry, there are even more to come later. And on the way back you can buy even more. Entrance 50,000 and you get to wear a compulsory sarong. The temple area is a bit meh, the highlight I suppose is the hollowed out cavern. It's dank, dark, humid and the main exhibit is a broken water dispenser. Continuing around the temple you'll meet another line of stands selling coconuts, soft drinks and cold beers. I was surprised at the beers, but was informed it was outside the temple, so ok. Whatever, a bit of respect should be shown. Around the back there is a pleasant area with a waterfall and a path. I liked this area. If you wander past the "stop" sign, you quickly exit the temple area ending up in a small housing area which will take you back to the main road. I made the short walk to the infinitely superior temple about 600m away. The sarong came in handy, as it is required there too. On the way back I returned the sarong. This definitely not not a recommendation, just an observation....

A very beautiful temple with a great cave, waterfalls and fantastic art. You will need to climb up and down some stairs, but they are very well maintained. There is a giant mystical tree, where you will find many sarongs tied around it. Make sure to give this temple a visit

Goa Gajah, is definitely worth a visit but as so many places in Bali, not really suitable for people who have walking problems, difficulties climbing and descending stairs or are wheelchair bound. After paying the entrance fee of 15.000 IDR you are required to wear a sarong to ensure that your knees are covered. Goa Gajah is a rich archeological location with a rich history dating from the 9th century. The Elephant cave has a history of Hinduism and Buddhism beliefs. The grounds have a mix of historical buildings, forest with a small waterfall and a small meditation cave overlooking a small pond. We really enjoyed our visit to Goa Gajah.

Breathtaking scenery and worth the visit. Descend down 150 stairs to get to the bottom of the waterfall. It's worth going up the other side to get closer to the top, there is a small cost. Walking back up the stairs could be difficult for some so pace yourself. Definitely take water as there isn't as much tree over as you'd think and it get very hot! There is some great little stores with beautiful silk dresses and robes. Highly recommended checking out this beautiful piece of the world.

Waterfall is okay. It's great that you can go down to the waterfall and take a dip around it. There's a day club as well near the waterfall with restaurant and swimming pool. If you go across the river and up to the restaurant on the otherside, you have to pay another entrance fee because that area is managed by a different business. Love the cold coconut (coconut in refrigerator), sold in the area on the way back to the parking lot.

My first water visit of my first Bali trip. It was very good. Was near to my hotel and I went there in the morning around 8am. Very less people were there at that time so I didn't have to stand and wait in the queue. I was beautiful and I would recommend it to visit once.

My first waterfall visit so definitely a special one for me... After paying the entry fee, it's a steep climb down with a lot of steps, but the excitement is worth it. If you are not able to manage the steps, then the view from the top is still good. Water is not that much clear but people were enjoying in the water. Changing room is there. Overall photogenic place.

Visiting Tegenungan Waterfalls was an unforgettable experience! The beauty of these waterfalls is simply breathtaking. Entrance fee is IDR 20,000. Worth a visit. Bring your swim gears along to experience the waterfall to the fullest.. Having around 165 steps from upstairs to the waterfalls. Not too much but not too easy for elderly. Clean place. Many places to make photos without paying. Only pay once in the entrance. Well

Beautiful waterfall and one of the few that allows you to go so close. Do note there are two sides and ticketing is separate for both side. You can't buy the ticket below too. Let you guide know if you want to chill at the cafe side or the side where you can visit see the waterfall from the halfway point.

Nice waterfall. Water is muddy brown if it rains.. no swimming allowed during monsoon. You get to climb down around 150+ stairs to get to the fall. So if you are travelling with kid, think before you plan. The stairs are twice the height of regular stairs so be prepared. But overall a very nice experience. There’s an infinity pool if you want to have drinks and chill. There’s also a bridge with glass floor under construction.

Great falls. Clean water perfect for swimming. (you can't swim right under the falls though since it is cordoned off for safety) 5-10min easy walk to the falls with steps

It's absolutely stunning. There is also a swing at the top where you can swing over the edge. Just a tip, there is a restaurant at the bottom. If you buy a beer or something, you can get the elevator out. TRUE STORY!

The waterfall looks good but definitely not as big as I expected. Plus the area is heavily commercialised with a bar pumping out loud music nearby which really kills the atmosphere. It is more than 170 steps going all the way down to the foot of the waterfall so unless you are planning to have a swim it is probably not worth going down.

The access road is easy to walk on, i stayed on nearby villa, come on this venue on walk. The entrance fee is the same between domestic and expat, 20.000 IDR. Best time to come is in the morning, less crowded. However, the path to the waterfall is a bit challenging for elderly, multiple step of stair, might seems easy when going down, but literally 'breath-taking' when return (as we need to go up).

You need to buy tickets before you head down to the waterfall. To visit the waterfall, you need to go down the stairs, I would not recommend this place for elderly people as there are way too many stairs. On the way down you can find small shops for refreshment & even have tables and chairs for seating. Photography can be done near the waterfall & even on the way down. People can even have a shower near the Waterfall.

A perfect place to spend one day Big area you don’t feel the crowd, Entry fees 20k and another 20k inside to go up to the bar and restaurant with complementary pool access and you can have food and drinks. It was my second visit in the period of 6 years, too much progress to the best. I recommend visit it and take your time no need to plan anything after, spend a day here.

A picturesque waterfall in the heart of the Balinese jungle. The amount of water tumbling over the rocks was impressive. As a very popular attraction; be sure to get here early. Lots of picture opportunities on the wall down, you don’t have to stop at the first one. Be careful waking across the bamboo bridges, they can be slick.

A pleasant walk brings you down to the falls, which is a single drop falls. You can dip your feet into it to refresh yourselves. On the whole it's worth the visit, especially the restaurant overlooking the falls. Prices are above average but the view is great.

The hike down is a little steep so be careful . There is a resort near the waterfall which plays loud music .. some might not like it but it adds a certain vibe to the place and also try the Ice Cream shop at the bottom . The waterfall itself is good and lots of places for clicking photos. Place is always crowded which also add to a good vibe. Not a must visit place but good enough to spend an afternoon in cold waterfall water 🙏

We have to walk down so many steps and see this scenic beautiful waterfall. The entry fee to this place is RP20000/head. There are many places to take pictures and also a day club and is bit expensive. Elderly people keep away because very stiff steps when coming up its breath taking.

What is not to love. A beautiful waterfall, lots of spots to take amazing photos clear water. Make sure to cool down with a drink at Omma Day Club on the way back. They have an elevator for customers back to the car park free for customers which would make it worthwhile in itself but on top of that they have an awesome atmosphere and great tunes.

Good view of the waterfall... You will not miss this place in case you are pressed for time... There is a view point from where you can see the waterfall and take some pictures... Frankly hyped up place... There are bigger and better waterfalls than this one... It looks pretty though

Went early morning to this place and it was not crowded at that time. Have to walk close to 200 to 300 steps down to reach the falls. Clean and nice place . Some maintenance work was happening on the hand drill of the steps without any discomfort to visitors. Life guard not allowed to close to falls for safety reason which is fair enough. For kids pool kind of arrangements are available to enjoy the water. Good place to visit

It is not so happening waterfall. It is average waterfall compared to other places in Bali. There are no entry fees. The place is overcrowded. There is a steep hike to climb, so avoid hiking in the heat. There are food shops and convenience shops. There are few facilities to take a bath and change the clothes.

20k pp entry. An absolute tourist trap but enjoyable enough. Very busy location but worth a dip so I'd bring swimming stuff.

Overpriced market. It is a temporary market. Shops were temporary and given on rent I believe. You have to bargain. Do not accept the price shopkeepers are quoting at first. It’s not worth the quality of product they sell. It’s probably less than half of that.

Interesting to look around, but some fairly crazy asking prices. Looked at a variety of items but found the asking prices were fairly hefty. 950,000 idr ($95 Aud) for two woven/rattan handbags...hard pass. A single basic bead bracelet for 60,000 idr ($6 Aud)... ?? Ended up buying the items we wanted for significantly (a lot) less. We get that with the whole bargaining thing the seller starts high and the buyer low... but in some cases the asking price was so far from reality that it just wasn't worth the effort. Many of the sellers seemed quite grouchy as well...particularly if we ended up wandering back part with items we declined at their stall but subsequently purchased at a competitor for the price they had rejected. If anyone out there is actually paying some of these prices, you're doing yourself a disservice. We'd already seen many of the items we looked at a lower asking prices around Sanur and Legian. There was lots of interesting stuff with a fair smattering of low quality garbage mixed in. We visited mid afternoon and it was quite busy, but manageable. Worth a look, but if you can't find something that takes your fancy at reasonable price at one stall just keep wandering around...you'll find a multitude of alternative stalls all selling exactly the same stuff. Likely at a more reasonable price point.

Make sure you walk that small alley in the middle of the market. I found what I was looking for there. The goods there are different from the generic stuff you see in the large market building.

The market has been demolished. The whole area is being redeveloped as a new market estimated for 2024. In July 2022 the entire area is rubble. All the stall holders are now lined up along various nearby smaller streets.

I loved this market. It is indoor, which is great for the rainy season. There are eight rows of shops on the first floor, and eight more rows on the second floor. Although each shop is very small, the market seemed less chaotic, compared to other markets I've been to around the world. To the left of the market, you'll find an alley with even more outdoor shops. I'd highly recommend this area because it contains all of the large paintings that you generally cannot find within the indoor market itself.

ou can find various Balinese handicraft items, such as paintings and statues including clothing such as t-shirts, sarongs and others You have to be good at bargaining here to get the best price. No need to worry about parking, because the Ubud art market has provided parking in the basement for cars and motorbikes.

The temple interior seems to be closed to public, but the exterior is still incredibly beautiful. It’s a nice pit stop if you are in the area for a quick photo, or having a meal overlooking the lotus pond - view from the lotus cafe looked to be great for this. Don’t know if they have closing hours, but it was still accessible to the public when we went by at 9:55pm!

As with Ubud Palace, defo worth checking out if I’m the area already. Bit wet when we went but still very nice. Photos show it looks stunning at night! Like many places you cannot enter the gate, but very nice to see regardless. Surrounded by water and plants is a nice touch. Starbucks at the entrance. Walk don’t drive as again it’s a nightmare on the street. Free entry!

Really nice place. Must visit place. It's also known as the Ubud water place. This place is a Balinese hindu temple in Ubud. Peaceful place. It is built in 1951. The lotus pond infront of it gives a sense of peace. U don't need to pay entry fees here ☺️

Saraswati Temple is in midst of Ubud near the market area. It is a temple dedicated to goddess Saraswati, who is the goddess of knowledge in Hinduism. Locals said that ceremonies are held in this temple regularly for students. As tourist we are not allowed to enter the temple, but we can see it from outside. There is a pond outside which is full of lotus flowers and a narrow path leads to the temple. It's adorned with beautiful rock sculptures and artwork. There are no entry fees to go here. You can give it a quick visit while in central Ubud.

This a temple but was closed when we visited. No mention of when it will be open or if there is a renovation work on going. This is also only good for photography. This is 2 rights from ubud art market.

A nice, tranquil spot to visit which is located right in all the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Be prepared that the lotus flowers are not always out like in the photos. You have to wear some traditional clothing to enter the temple area. They are one size fits all, so if you're on the larger size you will find them uncomfortable and look a bit silly. It's a great place for photos and if you like orchids, they have some beautiful examples there.

It's a beautiful temple from outside and tourists are not allowed inside the temple. Entrance fee is 35k per person. Hardly we can spend 10 min here. We need to wear the traditional dress kept in the entrance.

Nice, well maintained water temple in the heart of Ubud. It isn’t overcrowded luckily. There is entrance fee (not much) and also the map is tricky. You can go there by the main road next to Starbucks.

Nestled in the heart of Ubud, the Saraswati temple is a pure Balinese gem. The Lotus pond in the foreground adds to its spiritual reflection. The intricate architecture details are proof of rich Balinese heritage. In the evening stories from the Ramayana novel there is staged by Balinese artist. A must when in Ubud.

Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati in Ubud, Bali, is a captivating cultural gem. Ubud Water Palace Located at the heart of Ubud a very beautiful gem to visit while visiting Puri Ubud, Ubud art market and surrounding area. There is a ticket that you need to pay and the staff will handed you a kamen or sarong and some pajama like and also accessories for your head, its not that big but very artistic. Located on the same place Starbucks ubud and the Lotus restaurant.

Upon arrival, a ticket of is mandatory in order to use the sarong provided. Arriving as early as you can will give the advantage of taking photos before it gets crowded. Good structures.

It is not free (cost 35,000 each),and it is a tourist trap. If you want to take cool photos for instagram, go here. However, if you want something that is not a total of about 100m of walking go elsewhere. There are so many temples that are much nicer and actually look like temples. Unless you want to take your cliché IG photo in a purple throne, then you found your place. It is that bad.

It was a little hard to find until someone said it was next to Starbucks cafe, and then I found it. You purchased a ticket for 35k on entry. You are given a kimono jacket, sarong, and headdress to wear. As you enter, the large cafe/eating area is on the left side. There were many people sitting next to the lily pond at the cage. You walk over a quaint bridge with a lily pond on either side. There are 2 chairs in front of the temple that you can sit at for photos. Being low season, I didn't have to wait in any line for a photo.

It is nice place to visit. For local it's about 50k-75k if im not mistaken and for tourist is 150k rupiahs. You are nit allowed to take pictures inside the museum. But I take pics with the birds there. They have cafe and also good view. Very recommended

Visiting this museum is like peeking inside Antonio Blanco's mind. The complex used to be his house, his studio, and his own museum. A lot of his works are focusing on women divinity and femininity, which can be seen throughout the museum. The museum has a really nice courtyard with lots of greenery and aviary animals roaming free. Recommended to visit if you're in Ubud!

It’s a private museum, you can buy tickets at door. Michael Jackson used to visit. The museum belongs to a family, the owner is a Spanish artist, he came to Bali long time ago and built a family here. There is not so much information until you see the guide. There is a young guide here, he is super nice. He helps taking good photos and videos with parrots. If you want to know something, ask him, he is really helpful to tell stories.

A trip in an other world! For all people that think a smart phone is the world : go and have a look how we older folks mastered live. A small electricity blackout could not stop us! Amazing paintings and a real vision that turned into reality!

Unique place. Must visit when you are in Bali. Lots of painting by Mr. Blanco with artistic frame. Each frame is dedicated for it painting and built in harmony. We are lucky got story telling by beautiful staff who told the meaning of each painting and who was the model. Big building, three storey which represent heaven, earth and spirit world. Spend more than one hour to see each room, including the studio where Mr. Blanco sit to paint during his life.

monument of an era, i very much enjoyed the museum gallery on first trip to bali dacades ago, yet today it feels its a bit colossal and other interests are taking over the property.. Plant Bistro ( lovely Jakarta -Singaporean looking restaurant) next door is the direction where they are going i assume… i wouldn’t mind enjoying the art in a cafe atmosphere, maybe to make museum in a smaller area and develop something for the market expectations… i did adore his art and a bit freakish tendencies, personality grandiose carried away, obsessed with frames.. great artist, performer i think as well.. maybe for a theatre..

My second time visiting Blanco Museum and I never get bored of this museum. The paintings are gorgeous, architecture are on points. It was always a great experience.

Definitely worth a visit. Blanco's slight obsession with Balinese women breasts is on full display within a large, colonial style mansion turned gallery. Don't forget to visit the rooftop with some Ubud views guarded by statues. The grounds also contain a garden with a number of friendly parrots that sit on your head, hands and shoulders if you wish so, workshop and temple dedicated to the artist's beloved wife. The entrance is 100k per person.

Blanco obviously loved women from looking at his art. No books or cards are available with reproductions of his art sadly. The building is unique. It’s circular inside with three levels. In the middle when you look up to the ceiling is a wonderful mosaic. The staircase is like something from Hollywood movies. The gardens are beautiful with a number of parrots or similar who will sit on your arm for a photo. These are exotic birds. The statues in the garden and on the building are balinese designs I imagine. Really pretty. There is a cafe here but I didn’t try it.

Beautiful little museum. You get greetings by gorgeous parrots, in which are very friendly and the staff are happy to take photos for you. Take your time when exploring the outside gardens, gallery (no photos allowed) and balconies. They have a terrace with nice views of Ubud. Once you enter the museum (last part after the gallery), you can't go back. The museum staff is very knowledgeable about the history of Blanco, happy to take photos for you. Allow 3 hours to enjoy the place.

Nice place, fast seen, some healthy fine Aras and two Billhorns. Staff made excellent foto of me with 4 Birds. Good restaurants / Cafe in the building. No Fotos permited from Blanco's focus on nude women. Building is opulent, so all in all, worth 2h seeing.

Spanish artist Antonio Blanco has been called the Dali of Bali. He settled in Bali lured by the bare breasts of the nubile native women. He certainly did justice to them on canvas. The Museum is an eccentric, eclectic place of fascination. Piped 1920s music plays and you are greeted by parrots, cockatoo and goldfish. There is an ice-cream parlour and a gorgeous rooftop restaurant nearby. If you are Arty and enjoy the quirky, you simply must visit!

Yesterday I wrote regarding Neka Museum that usually I don't like museums. But this Blanco is really worth to visit, birds are splendid. 100k entrance fee. No photo inside the museum itself.

I really enjoy going to this place, they give you a really nice area to look and see how coffee is made locally. You can also see what kind of teas they have to offer which is really sweet and delicious. It’s very tranquil at this location as you can also go to the gift shop after and purchase any of the coffee or tea that you have. The coffee and the tea and everything that you purchased there is actually a lot cheaper than where you would find it anywhere else maybe because they’re actually at the roasters

Very unique experience. There was a free tasting of 14 different varieties of coffee and tea samples. The tour in the beginning was very informative but be aware of many mosquitoes. Bali belly is a real thing- Not sure if the water from the samples are tap water. Overall, great experience!

This was such a great experience to see how coffee and tea are made and then sample a variety of teas and coffees. It’s nice that they have a tour guide that explains to you what each tea helps you with . Everyone is very friendly there . My son who is 6 even enjoyed it there . Everything was delicious

This was a great experience! They offer a short tour of the gardens to show all the produce they grow to make the tea and coffees. Free tastings of all the different teas and coffees. The Luwak coffee they offer was reasonably priced compared to other tourist spots 50,000 Rupiah. There is the option to purchase any of the teas or coffees if you like them at the gift shop at the end. The service was fantastic and I’m glad our driver recommended it.

The coffee plantation in Bali exceeded my expectations! The lush surroundings and serene atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable experience. The guided tour was informative, and I loved learning about the coffee-making process. This was such a fun experience during our visit to Bali. First the guide takes you through the plantations where they not only grow coffee beans but several other useful plants of their own. Then we are taken on a small tour to understand how coffee is made and ground. We also see the animal, civet, the poop of which is used to make the expensive luwak coffee. Finally, we were given 13 tasters of various flavours of coffee and I found most of them to be unique and delicious. We even paid extra and tried the famous luwak coffee (a little hesitantly) as well. This place has a shop where you can buy coffees and other native Bali items.

Wonderful coffee tasting experience. If you love coffee, cocoa or herbal teas then this is your place to go to. You may end up buying lots of coffee, fair warning.

As usual, they brought us for a tour and explain bout their plantation. Later we were given 13 diff coffee/tea for free tasting. You have an option to taste Luwak coffee for an additional price. We had a good time, as the person companied us did give us a good company. Of course the experience will end with a shopping centre (optional) if you want.

These inflated prices can leave visitors feeling like they have fallen victim to a scam. Another disappointment is the quality of the products themselves. It is disheartening to learn that a considerable amount of coffee or tea powder is required to achieve the same taste experienced during the visit. For example, a mere 100 grams of instant tea powder is enough for only 5 to 6 cups, making it an incredibly expensive indulgence. Moreover, ethical concerns arise when observing the treatment of the Luwak animal. It has been reported that the animals are confined in cages, which is not only unprofessional but also raises questions about animal welfare. This practice contradicts the values of responsible and sustainable coffee production.

This was a fun experience. I enjoyed learning about the process and sampling teas and coffees. I'm not a coffee drinker but they were delicious. The ginger tea is the best I've ever had. I completely enjoyed the saffron and rosabelle teas. The tasting was free of charge. But, you pay 50K for a cup of the premium coffee.

What a special experience! Such a beautiful hidden gem and an amazing place to try coffee and tea that you have probably never heard of before. You get given a giant complimentary tasting tray and told about the process of making the tea and coffee, as well as getting to see all of the spices and fruits that are grown in the plantation garden. You can also try Luwak coffee but the best is the avocado, coconut and ginseng coffee and the rice tea! I bought almost the whole store to take home 🥰

This was one my best experience in Ubud. Tea plantations are a must visit in Ubud, Satria is one of the best. Guide here showed us the whole coffee making process plus we get to taste all the samples available plus I tasted world famous Luwak coffee.. The view where the coffee is served is a whole different ambiance. Though Luwak is not my cup of tea. They also have shop from where you can buy coffee choclates... Must Try...

We were first greeted by a team member who took us through the grounds showing us the various plants and processes to produce the teas and coffees. Then we met the fabled Lewak and sat down the sample the whole range of teas and coffees! This was all free and then we were led to the shop where we could purchase anything we tried. There was no pressure or stress, just a great time.

Very nice museum with 7 different buildings showing traditional Balinese artwork, and explaining the significance behind common cultural symbolisms such as the winged lion, the horse or the dog. Count between 45m-2h depending on your interest. Gift shop is a bit lacking though and you need to pay 150.000 IDR entry which I found a bit steep.

Amazingly educational for arts in Indonesia. We can see loads of great painters of Indonesia with Bali as their focuses.

They really spend time and effort to make this museum better. They used the CoVid hatius to their advantage. It looks fresh and new. New paint, new floor, new restaurant. The museum shop has excellent items. Especially the Batik and Ikat is of very good quality. I loved the huge collection of Keris from Bali and Java. The art collection is broad. Although I do not particularly like the Balinese traditional paintings. The east meets west collection was beautiful.

Very cool place. Not many tourists are around. They showcase some really cool history, art, and swords. Beautiful place, bit of a maze lay out, lots of fish in the pond too. Just get your ticket at the door, no queue at all

Seven buildings with a great collection, takes 1.5-2 hours to visit. I enjoyed the most the works of Bonnet, Hofker, Han Snel, Ida Bagus Made and Lempad

Incredible gallery with an amazing collection of traditional as well as modern Indonesian art! The museum itself is a beautiful building as well. There were no people when we went, so we had the whole museum to ourselves, which allowed us to take our time and view the whole collection at our pace. The museum has 8 different pavilions as well as a separate building with temporary exhibitions. One of the pavilions was dedicated to a collection of traditional Indonesian daggers (Kris), which has been recognised by the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. All the exhibits have great in-depth and insightful descriptions, which help in understanding the local culture and traditions through art. Some of them even have QR-codes with audio voice recordings.

Museums and galleries in Bali I visited mostly have great hospitality not only for tourists who are interested in the displayed art/artifact. Neka Art Museum is one of them. I visited this museum back then in 2019 for my final project research for my bachelor degree and they're super helpful, welcoming me, and showed me the same enthusiasm; they were so pleased to every researcher interested in this museum. I even got a free book about museums in Bali from Pak Wija and he helped me so much with all the informal I neede. I will never forget his kindness.

Though not cheap to enter, we felt the price was worth it. Beautiful collection of artwork which was paired with thorough and interesting descriptions of each subject. Art styles were varied, but all very enjoyable. Not crowded at all. No A/C, but it wasn't hot thanks to a nice breeze. The ticket includes a small bottle of water and a couple sweet crisps. Bathroom was very clean. Plenty of secure parking on site.

I was surprised by finding free library inside the museum. You can come and enjoy literature in any time. Staff is friendly and assist you easily.

This is an extraordinary museum contained in a complex of beautiful Balinese-style buildings. The founder appears to have had had relationships with a number of artists from different backgrounds, disciplines, and cultures. The paintings and sculptures, many of which are stunning, are nicely curated, and the exhibits are intelligently organized. Highly recommended.

Free to enter and you don't need to worry about covering shoulders and knees. The Balinese architecture is great. Not all areas are accessible but that doesn't stop some people that are determined to get their Instagram photos.

Ubud Palace in Bali offers limited attractions beyond its impressive structure. The focus leans towards commercialization. Suitable for capturing a few social media-worthy pictures, but lacks substantial depth for a fulfilling visit.

We've always enjoyed seeing cultural places in various countries. This was a tad disappointing because literally we were just not seeing anything beyond the gardens. None of the buildings were accessible. So we were not also able to see any artifacts. There were also other parts of the grounds that aren't accessible. Due to that, we have very limited grounds to cover and see. There were local tour guides whom if you're not engaged to aren't friendly and rather inconsiderate. So far, this was the most disappointing visit for me amongst the many ancient palaces or historical sites that I've visited.

Historically rich Balinese temple in the downtown of Ubud. Without further explanation it already shows how intricate and well-thought the palace was built. So full of culture and great traditional art. The complex is quite spacious with various corners to take pictures, or simply admire them from distance. And the great news is it's free entrance! Better to visit during weekdays as it could be quite crowded during weekend! No need tour guide as this mesmerizing place speaks for itself...

Absolutely stunningly beautiful palace that you must visit when you come to Ubud. There is no entry fee. I would recommend going early or later in the day to avoid the crowds. It can take a little while to get good photos here when it is crowded. The Balinese architecture style is strongly represented, and the stately sculptures and structures are great backdrops for photos, or make unique subjects for the avid photographer. We spent about 45 minutes wandering around the palace grounds, which is plenty of time to see everything.

In the heart of Ubud, this palace has multiple entrances. The front door is right next to a gelato place and is a prime shuttle bus stop/ taxi stop. The entry is free, and the palace has some beautiful picture spots, iconic traditional Balinese architecture with the large archways and indoor sitting area. Also, there are dance performances every evening, apparently for 100k for 2 people. It is walking distance from the Saraswati temple, and the Ubud Market and boasts of a lively place drawing crowds.

Our tour guide dropped us off in front of this palace to we could cross the street before going to the ubud market. There was a talk structure being built in front of the palace entrance. Intrigued, we headed inside and weren't disappointed. Refer to the videos and photos we snapped. We learned many new things about Bali here. Definitely worth a few minutes of your time. There is no entrance fee. It is free to visit.

This place looks architecturally good but everything is restricted here. Can just take couple photos where there towers at each entrance. Sculpture detailing is very nice. Can recommend this place only if you want to kill time. Watever is open for visitors is good but it’s a lot of traffic to go to this place and it’s very far. Hardly takes 5-10 mins to cover this place. It’s a public place and No tickets required for entry.

It's tempting to wonder here, but don't wait too long. Most of the palace is inaccessible, so you will mainly walk through the courtyards, which are beautiful, but will not take much time. You are outside in 10-20 minutes, there is no entrance fee.

Beautiful like all the temples and architect in Bali. And best of all it is free. I believe they offer tours and may have events or ceremonies here periodically if you want to learn more of the history. But just to stop and appreciate doesn't cost a thing.

Central Ubud. Quiet inside, nice garden. Take a spell, have some quiet time in the shaded garden, see traditional and modern Indonesian and Balinese art, its a cheap and relaxing, simple way to have some cultural experience. Its not vey big, but entry was not much, we had a 90 minute wait so our driver said just chill out here if you want. Entry price included free lunch. I expected a small snack, see the photo I got pork rib for free. And sat in an elevated bungalow overlooking the gardens to eat it. Well worth it for the quiet time and peaceful meal, and to see art in a quiet environment.

A beautiful, quiet and well maintained complex with some lovely art and batiks to walk around and look at. There was no AC in the buildings as the doors remain open, so don’t come here expecting a place to hide from the relentless heat! It was cooler inside, though. I’m glad I came here, but it’s not the most interactive or exciting art gallery, more of a place for quiet reflection 🌼 ✅ The price is fair ✅ There is a cafe ✅ beautiful art ✅ on the Main Street in Ubud but very quiet inside ❌ it’s not accessible to those with mobility issues ❌ the signs next to the art are in English but they don’t tell you much about the art itself ❌ you will be accosted by taxi men outside @laurenges.and.lemons

Open from 10am to 4pm, but it can be longer than that time. The services really good and helpful. It's a big place but tidy. You can get the discount price 50% and it only cost IDR 42.5k, grab it fast. There's a lot of pictures, painting and sculptures. Just enjoy your time at here, it's relaxing.

There are two types of tickets: with and without lunch. They offer the more expensive one first so if you don't plan to eat, inquire about the other ticket. Great gallery with some fine examples of local Balinese art from the past century.

This museum is an amazing place to see old paintings dated as old as 1605. I managed to take picture of the oldest painting before reading that it's forbidden to take photos (no worries I didn't use flashlight). Looking at the paintings painstakingly detailed made was an awe experience for me. Most old paintings depicted Mahabharata and Ramayana scenes. Some are in good conditions, some are decaying and in bad conditions. Still, you can see the glory of the painting richness in color and details. The 4 buildings are old some with water stains on the ceiling and spiderwebs on some windows. But the exterior of the buildings is nicely taken care of. The toilets are clean with unique doors. I really wish the building can be renovated and those bad condition paintings can be restored. Let the present time look at these amazing paintings with wonder and not with pity.

Beautiful art and the gardens offer much shade to relax. Worth visiting and learning about the influences of western artist on Balinese art. Included in entry fee is a refreshment and snack in the restaurant

One of the best museums in Bali I ever visited. The ticket price was 150k back then in 2019 and you can have a free buffet dining inside with a nice view and ambience. Best experience. The galleries are divided into some buildings (as I remember). When I visited, they exhibited some of the Balinese artists works and I learned so much from them about Balinese art history. They have a lush environment but their toilets are kinda creepy for me cause they are located so far, in the back of galleries buildings, kinda desolate.

The ultimately beautiful place to know the history of Balinese Art, especially the emerging area of Ubud. It has collections based on time sequences, and the place is more like a palace-like complex.

The museum is filled with Balinese woodwork and painting art. The art is curious, however the real highlight are the stories and myths they are based on - e.g. goliathian story how a fly lay larva into elephant's eyes that were pecked by a bird as a lesson that the weak may win over strong if they get together. The territory is not large, but there are four large buildings to visit. Expect to spend an hour or two. The entrance is 100k into which tea is included, however the restaurant was closed when we visited.

I believe this place is a hidden gem. It’s a perfect activity for a semi lazy day by the end of your trip, the place is GORGEOUS, the art is awe inspiring and it’s very very quiet and chill I embraced my time here

They have collections of Balinese art spanning over five centuries and this museum is a nice, quiet reprieve from the noise and traffic of central Ubud. As of March, 2023 the ticket entry price is 115,000 and includes a lunch and beverage from the museum cafe.

Great place in Ubud to see traditional and modern Balinese and Indonesian art as it evolved across the years. The grounds and surrounds are extremely beautiful. Very picturesque and great for portraiture at sunset!

Nice display of local arts, we were the only guests at the time. The ticket is quite expensive, 145k each, we only had half an hour for the place, so a bit hesitate, the lady at entry then offered us 2 for 1 price. It's said a set lunch or drink included in the ticket, but we were in rush didn't find the cafe anyway. The best thing was a full set of Indonesian musical instruments, we tried to play on them and had a lot of fun.

This museum is the oldest Art Museum in Bali,  which specializes in modern traditional Balinese paintings  and wood carvings. The museum has beautiful grounds, and art is displayed in different buildings on the museum property. There is no air conditioning in the buildings. There is a toilet at the museum. There were some interesting exhibits. I especially liked the exhibit with traditional Instruments

I originally came for the art and stayed for the beautiful gardens and beverage/light meal that come with your entry ticket. Ponds, ancient trees, beautiful nature and old sculptures are the main reason to come here. The art is not always well kept and the buildings are quite poorly lit, which makes it hard to see much imo (and god its hot in there!). However, there are some very quaint and interesting pieces (drawings, paintings and sculptures) and all in all the ensemble makes this place worth its five stars.

It is a beautiful museum, several buildings and a restaurant where you get a refreshment and snack after touring the grounds, included in entry fee. The garden is magnificent with big lotus pond and many areas to rest. Can highly recommend a visit to learn about the influence on Bali art paintings by Europeans.

If you like Balinese art in the form of classical style paintings, maybe this museum will suit you. Because this museum holds many paintings from ancient times. This museum is divided into several buildings where the buildings have different painting styles, so I will explore this museum area. Not only can you enjoy paintings here, but there is also a flower garden that makes you calm.

Google says it costs 50 000 idr, but they ask 145 000 idr. But it included good lunch, so overall nice. Museum is small, but beautiful and the garden is beautiful too

nice stroll to escape the dreaded traffic of Ubud centre. You can make it as a loop starting at the art market valley and finishing at a slightly dodgy, steep and narrow path leading back to the main street. If you are with small kids it might be better to come back the same way, it is only half an hour walk.

Fantastic rice field. Choose a different path than the one where bikes go and you will speak to many farmers with a smile and so much love for their land.

Ubud rice field walks are some of my favourite things to do in Bali, and the Kajeng rice fields fall into this category. Basically it is a short to medium distance walk through the rice fields, where you get to see a less touristy and developed side of Ubud. The walk took around 90 mins and that was at a casual pace. I suggest going in morning or dusk as its baking hot during the day time. Along the way you’ll see the green rice fields, local people working, and lots of coconuts. Its easy to follow as you just need to walk in a straight line more or less. This is a great way to spend a couple of hours in Ubud. When you are finished you end at PYRAMIDS OF CHI Just get a Grab or Gojek taxi back to wherever you want

Lovely and peaceful experience, starting from the centre of Ubud. No cars allowed, though there are scooters. There are two parallel paths, the west one has hotels and cafes along the way.

Very nice walking field. The rice pads were in it initial stage, so not much to see. Lots of motorcycles on the path, so watch out for it.

You can reach this place if you keep walking till the end of Ubud Market. Me being from India, these rice fields didnt excite me much, but loved how well they were maintained, apart from the rice its producing, its still so photogenic! Its a free of cost public place you can roam around, there are some restaurants around you can eat. Just park your scooter and have a seat in the rice field and enjoy the view.

30 Jul 23: Very nice and quiet rice field. My friend and I strolled along the fields and occasionally you'd meet some locals who are really nice and friend. They'd smile and greet you. If you're lucky, you may spot some ducks too!

1. start from Ubud Art Market Entrance at Kajeng Road, walk till you reach Arjana Bungalow , there will be a narrow steep hill, careful for Scooter, then you will reach the paddy field. 2. visit in the morning before 9am or after 5pm to enjoy the breeze and sunny view. 3. you can walk along the paddy field to observe the farmers, seasonal birds and ducklings.

It’s been always my favorite trekking track in Ubud. Along your trekking you’ll see beautiful view of rice fields, jungles, the soothing sound of flowing waters and the best part to me to enjoy a fresh coconut water. If you dare to go further and go down the hills you’ll find this peaceful river. This is the best place for you to have a morning meditation.

Amazing place with splendid views just next to the center of Ubud. Much more authentic than famous Tegalalang Rice fields which are super touristy. I have been to this location twice with different timing to catch various sun position and colors. This place is worth visiting.

A nice short walk near the centre of town. There are a few stalls for drinks near the start. Lots of ducks in the fields. A beautiful spot, but mid day can be very hot in the sun

Enjoyed the long but beautiful walk through the rice fields. Spotted birds and streams. There are some restaurants, e.g. Warung Sweet Orange, along the way where you can stop to rest and enjoy some refreshments. Rather peaceful and quiet when we were there. We entered through the gateway near Ubud Water Palace. Only word of caution is the exit point if you do a anti clockwise trail. At one point it can get a bit treacherous (dirt track with no railing) so not the best exit route if you have someone frail in your party or when it rains (risk of slipping down the slope).

Extremely beautiful! 1000x better than ridge walk. Go all the way the the bridge access and go left to make it a loop (the last 200 m is a dirt trail. When heading south after the bridge make sure you go right up the steps (about 75 meters when starting south). Super amazing restaurants, yoga, painting and silver classes.

I enjoyed my walk over there. There were some locals selling stuff and were very friendly and welcoming. I was able to have some conversations with some of them. Rice fields look good but I grew up around rice fields in the Philippines so it's not new to me.

The Kajeng Rice Fields in Ubud are a calm and beautiful place for a walk. Surrounded by green fields, it's a quiet spot away from busy areas, great for enjoying nature and relaxing. Perfect for anyone who loves peaceful outdoor activities.

A very pleasant surprise. We started walking between the shops in the little market next to starbucks cafe on the main road. We walked along the shop and then we found ladies selling local fruit that you can try and buy. Then we walked along the scenic rice fields. The trail is a loop and takes you back to the main road. We walked the trail in about one hour in a very relaxed pace. A very easy trail, mainly flat. I highly recommend it.

Cool walk across ricefields and some shops, beautiful to see the ricefields and locals being locals. Its about a half hour/hour walk woth plenty of pics to snap. Does have shade and some coffeeshops alomng the way. Recommended to start in the marketstreet and walk al the way up and back down to ubud main road again.

Civet cat coffee is a product of animal abuse, they are khey're kept in cages, fed an inadequate diet of mostly coffee berries, and driven insane by their captivity. Please never buy civet cat coffee.

This place was a great stop. I've done coffee tours before but this was excellent and I loved every single tea. They lose a star because they claim to only keep the cats captive for 24 hours to correct their $hit and use it to make coffee but that didn't seem honest, I think they provably keep them longer to actually get them fed and to pass the coffee through.

Really like the place. The stuffs were really friendly, actually I should appreciate their marketing strategy. The ladies will take you through the farm and show you the plants of coffee and spices. They'll also show the processing plant of coffee. You'll find Luak who helps to make world's most expensive coffee. Then they'll feed you all of their coffee, tea and chocolate production for free. You can buy their products at reasonable price. Overall, its good experience.

The chocolate making process was explained live and amazingly delicious chocolates without sugar. The cocoa seeds are grown there. The guides are very friendly and helpful. Gave us a tour about the farm and coffees, teas and chocolates process. They also gave us the 14 varieties of tea to taste which helped in deciding on the flavours to pick up later. My favourites were ginseng and ginger tea. They had some luwaks in a cage. Didn’t really like the famous Luwak coffee. They also had a python and owl for pictures purpose. This was just a small part of the farm. They have a bigger farm else where. This is the last tourist destination in our trip.

The coffee is really great here. The staffs are also good. They will tell you how to make the coffee. They will show you around. The coffee farm is really nice. They will give you permission to make the coffee yourself. The process is really authentic.. They will give you some free tea but if you want to drink the coffee lwak then you have to pay 50,000 idr for one cup. The place is also nice for taking picture. Nice place. Highly recommended.
