The waters were clean and very warm, but the beach had a lot of garbage... as well as the whole area actually which is a construction place of Chinese mega resorts. Although I must admit, one can catch a pretty impressive sunset from Otres beach, there is really nothing else interesting to do or to see here. In my opinion, unless you are catching a plane/ferry and you have to spend a night in Sihanoukville, you may skip the area entirely.

I visited here on 24 - 25 Jan 2023, it has changed a lot since my last visit back in 2019. There were no more kois, on the beach and it serves the public. You may enjoy family activities here (BBQ, Sunbathing, Swimming, Jogging or Relaxed). You may bring your staff here if you preferred or you may rent from local vendors. Food is limited but there were a few options that you can order from local vendors at the beach. There were a few landmarks created (#សិលាបដ្ដបណ្ដាសា #ដើមឈើស្នេហ៍ #សិលាចាំស្នេហ៍)។ I look forward to the next BBQ and relaxed by the beach trip soon.

It's free, but you technically need to pay 500 Riel ( 0.12$) for crossing the bridge to the waterfalls. I'd say it's worth it. I went there on 3rd February 2024. There was still some water. It's a chill place to relax in nature. There are some food stores there.

Easy to get to located on the Prek Tuk Sap River great scenery and a good place to swim and have a picnic if you so desire. Nice way to spend a bit of time out of Sihanoukville. Best natural waterfalls in Sihanoukville. First, they had this resrvoir nearby, which made the hourney here amazing fron the beautiful sceneries. Even though at that time, it's still unfinished. Then you arrive at the red sanded parking spot, walk a bit, cross the mini bridge then voila! The waterfalls and it's river! They also had these small huts to take rest or had lunch. All of them were locals btw, but don't worry, they won't bite :) everyone just busy with their own thing. Enjoy the water from the falls, or walk a bit deeper to the smaller river. The water just cristal clear and shallow, perfect to take a dip. Refreshing after walking under the sun. Just be careful coz the river bed is a bit rocky and slippery.

We bought our food in the local food market. It was cooked directly in the market. Then, we had our lunch on the beach where we rented a table and a few chairs. The independance beach is perfect for lunch/diner and for swimming in the sea as well. The sand was nice, white and smooth and there were few people. Great place for family hangout’s. But, if you want nobody near the beach, for instance if you want more privacy for couples, it’s better to go to a beach dedicated to swimming.

Not worth the (way too expensive) Tuktuk trip (we paid 25 dollars to get from Otres Beach to the park). When we arrived tours and boat trips appeared to be way more expensive than mentioned in the travel guide. Boat trip was a bit a disappointment, we only saw some birds and didn’t really went into the “jungle”. The guide was nice and told us a lot about the Cambodian culture but it was definitely not worth 65 dollars (Tuktuk and boat fee)!

Amazing authentic traditional khmer market in Sihanoukville. You can purchase your food there and then cook it for a small fee directly in the market. I can guarantee tou will be certain that your food is fresh. There was scallops, soft and hard shell crab, shellfish, fish, octopus and squid. This market offers more choice at a lower price than in Kampot. That is why I recommend to go to Sihanoukville rather than Kampot. With the commissioning of the new highway, it is almost as fast to go to these two cities from phnom penh. I also shared the phone number of the chef who offered several Khmer recipes and seasonings (fresh green pepper sauce, fried garlic sauce), he also sold not too sweet fish sauce, rice and cutlery. PS : Came across some graphic content. A small new born of less than 6 month having a shower inside a basin whithin the market.

There are all kinds of fresh seafood and there is a place for cooking service for you, the only downside is you need a lot of experience to buy the good and high quality seafood since there is no identify either which one is good and bad for standard. The cooking place is pretty crowded so you need to have patience waiting in line. Recommend for adventure to enjoy explore new things and experience with have enough time. If you are tight on schedule, please go to the resort or beach directly for fast food service.

Stepped into a time machine back in December 2005 and landed at Pshar Leu Market on 7 Makkara Street, Sihanoukville. Spoiler alert: I was the only foreigner there, making me feel like an explorer in an uncharted territory! My tour guide? A local Khmer lady with a knack for weaving through stalls like a pro. She introduced me to a smorgasbord of local foods, turning breakfast into an epic culinary adventure at a quaint food stall. Who knew rice could do that? The authenticity of the market? It's like they've never heard of 'touristy'. Fresh produce that looked like it just won 'Miss Farm Cambodia', trinkets that held more stories than a library, and the hustle and bustle? Music to my ears! So if you're ever in Sihanoukville and crave a taste of the real Cambodia, march straight to Pshar Leu. And hey, if you do bump into another tourist, maybe check your map again! 😉

I somehow long time in Cambodia so I have regular shops to go to for my needs - dry goods, meat,fruits, seafoods clothes, appliances etc. you name it - they have it. Some shops are also quite expensive better check the area first so you can compare the price. I also make friend to some of the sellers - just ask nicely and they are willing to help.Just be respectful to them.

We have travelled several times to taking Rongh Sanloem using the Island Speed Ferry. They are reliable and on time. The boats are well maintained and have life vests. The reason for me writing the review is to point out when things go wrong you can see the true quality of a company: It was the 24th December. Christmas Eve. I had got off the ferry with my three boys in Koh Rongh Sanloem. Our luggage was unloaded for us and I had moved it to the side. I first accompanied my three boys to our guesthouse before returning to collect my luggage just to realise that it had been removed. I phoned the ferry company and they soon found out that the staff had put the luggage back on the ferry going to the next island. The staff soon sorted out that the luggage could be put on a private boat and bought from the other island back to where we were staying. Saying that there was a misunderstanding with the luggage they volunteered to take over there entire costs of bringing the luggage backt the same evening to our island. After I received my luggage from the boat I recruited a phone call from the Ferry Office checking all is fine. This is truly exceptional service! I can only but assume that the management is giving it’s employees good guidlines and the freedom to make quick decisions in such cases resulting in their staff being able to take up self-leadership driving service quality.

This is a terrible company!!!! Terrible treatment of people! If you lose your paper ticket, the company will force you to pay again, even if you can provide a receipt! For them, the payment means nothing if you lose your ticket and the boat just leaves without you! The boat driver was also not adequate and did not want to listen to anything! The telephone operator girl refused to give me the director's phone number and just drugged me!!! This is the first time in Cambodia that such a terrible customer service!!!

They dropped us at the wrong pier. The driver decided spontaneously to change the destination. It took the tuk tuk 45 Minutes and 10Dollar to get us to Long Set Beach. They were really unfriendly and came up with excuses. On the way back they were 45 min late and stopped twice at other piers which took an hour in total. In total the Ride was 2 hours.

They stole my return ticket. While boarding the boat they are supposed to rip the ticket in half and give you the other half back (your return ticket) but they just kept both of my tickets. I explained to them that I need both tickets but they did not want to listen. After a few minutes of arguing I had to get on the boat... These are a good boat service to the islands. The boats are large, with plenty of life jackets to go around. Pretty stable in choppy water so you don't suffer too much. An open return ticket was $25. The jetty area has had a revamp, with modern ticket shops, a 7/11 and food vendors.

I should have read all the other reviews before blindly buying the tickets from this company. I booked the tickets online for the round trip. We got the printed tickets but nobody told us that those tickets are for the way back as well. Because in the past it was very different and we only needed to inform the people before leaving and we needed to show the online tickets. This time they changed it and didn’t inform anyone about it. As we got to the boat to return to Sihanoukville they said since you have no printed tickets (even though we have the online tickets and the proof of payment) we can either buy the tickets again or not take the boat. Not to mention how rude and unhelpful the operator was. I won’t consider taking this company in the future and will use Buva instead. Awful. Awful. Awful.

Awful customer service. I bought return tickets online. I arrived to the pier 1.5hrs. earlier and showed the tickets on my phone at the office. The lady was playing with her phone, didn’t even look at the tickets and told me to sit down and wait for the ferry. After a while they told all the passengers to go to the pier to wait for our ferry. The ferry arrived 30min late. After I handed my luggage to be loaded, I was directed to the other side of the boat to hop on. They asked for the tickets and as I showed them on my phone, they told me I had to return to the office to get printed copies. I don’t understand why that wasn’t mentioned on the first place after waiting 2 hours for the ferry. I had to run back to the office and got back just as the boat was about to leave. Unnecessary stressful moment. Also there were more passengers than seats.

Super dangerous ride back from Koh Ronh Sanloem with waves bigger than the boat. Staff seemed unexperienced, asking people to switch seat once the boat was being fully rocked by the waves. The boats are different size and shapes. The one to get to the island was fine and the ride was smooth, but the boat back to shore was sooo small and the waves so big. I would not recommend.

UPDATE I was here again on jan. 2 2018. It is now walled on with glass so NOT an open pole barn style. It is also sort of a KTV. Not sure how it works BUT it was ok and the beer is still fantastic !!! HOWEVER getting a beer and food proved to be a challenge but it was ok. The food took forever and we had to get up 3 times and get our beer from the back as the girls would not pay any attention to us trying to get their attention. Of course we do not speak kumer.

I am obviously here at a non busy time when they are not expecting customers. Sunday afternoon 3pm. I am literally the only customer. It is hard to find someone to serve me. Very drinkable beers, the price cannot be beaten. The most expensive is $1 per glass. It's a huge place, I suspect evenings that it rocks. There is a small stage for musicians. This is a place for people to come as a group and get trashed very cheaply. Except I don't think their beers are very strong, I am on my 4th and not getting much of a beer Buzz.

The staff are helpful and very friendly, the rooms are large and clean and the location is great. The hotel has awesome beach frontage dining, entertainment, and casino along with pool and much more. Check in experience was horrible, staff hospitality was definitely not there. Uninformed policy of upfront cash deposit, if you transfer electronically, they will return in cash. If you lost deposit paper, no return, even if you have the photo of it. Not to mention the room is so so with no view as we didn’t get the sea view room. The hotel itself is not located next to the beach, the casino is. Could pay the same price for much better options along Otres or Orcheuteal!!! Will not return to this hotel.

This is our second time staying at Queenco hotel and the experience we had was as good as the first, which was before the pandemic took place. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a black and white modern theme, accompanied by beautiful art pieces on the walls. We also loved the cleanliness, spaciousness and coziness of the room. This wonderful experience is further enhanced by the superb sea view from our hotel room, which allowed us to view the gorgeous sunrise and sunset scenery from the comfort of our beds. The next X factor to rave about is the international breakfast buffet which includes a good spread of Khmer, Asian, American and European food. The egg Benedict is a must try as I felt the taste and quality is close to Michelin standard. Other breakfast items like the American breakfast with sunny side up eggs is worth trying too. This dining pleasure is intensified by the fact that we could have breakfast by the beach, which we enjoyed very much every morning. Lastly, we must also not forget to mention the impeccable service provided by Mr Sean, the Manager and his team. They were able to provide us with personalised service by going beyond to meet all our requests throughout our stay. Thank you for giving us a memorable experience and we will be back again soon!

This is an amazing white sand beach front location. It's a lot better than the public area since you are not being bothered by vendors or random security guards. Sushi here is excellent some of the best that I have had. They also have a pretty deep swimming pool of you didn't want to venture into the gulf of Thailand. THIS is an exceptional property. Of the 16 hotels I've stayed at in South East Asia, This Cambodian Hotel won me over as the very best all the way around. Ken Somros was the first to make an impression on me as a guest. I felt not only welcomed but that no request was too big or too small. Sean Saing, Hotel Manager is not sitting in an office. He's on the floor greeting guests, creating relationships with guests, and making sure everyone's happy. The quality of the food I found consistently very good, in some cases the best in presentation, and freshness. The breakfast is presented like fine dining with pride. The sunsets are out of a Hollywood movie. The private beach is intimate and scenic. Dine seaside, with your feet in the sand as the sunsets over the water. Not a very trustworthy place especially at the bar where the live band is. Be mindful and count how many bottles you’ve drank. If they think you are drunk you will for sure get a surprising bill.
