Absolutely AMAZING !! That's it ...the vibrant colours inside the caves are unbelievable.

Batu caves is an amazing place. It's not just a temple, it's a symbol of Malaysia and what it represents. Parking is rm2, toilet is rm0.50, but visiting the temples themselves is free. Dress code for men, shorts and shirt. Women, please wear shirts and to cover the knees and ankles. Sarongs to rent readily available for rm15. Steps are steep, so not accessible for anyone walking impaired. Bird feeding grain available for a few. Bananas and fruit available to buy to feed the monkeys. Please do not hold or grab the monkeys. Although wild, they are used to visitors and will freely walk amongst visitors. Photo taking is encouraged. Toilets not available at the temples and only available at the base. Toilets are very clean and well kept. Best to visit early morning before 9am for good weather and views. Do not visit after 5pm or you will be affected by the bad traffic .

The most impressive attraction around KL. Harmony of nature and religion ☯️ Enter is free. Don't be afraid monkeys, they are fed good there but feeling humans fear. Better to check train schedule - I stuck on the station for an hour and I'd prefer to use this time exploring caves

Definitely worth going if you are visiting KL. the cave itself is spectacular, the temples are interesting. Lots of animals everywhere so the ground is a bit dirty, just how it is, so just be prepared. The steps are also quite steep so be careful. There is a dress code, women have to wear a long dress or trousers and cover their shoulders, bit men seem to be with just shorts and t-shirt.

Very inexpensive fee to go inside ( you don’t need to pay if you’re not climbing the stairs) and need to pay for parking so it’s easier to Grab from the city center than drive. The beautiful. Statue with the rainbow colored stairs make for a beautiful picture and there is a restaurant,convenience store as well as souvenir shops inside and outside of the gate. Get ready to climb the 272 stairs !

Good place to visit. The colored stairs are a very nice touch but are not the cleanest or safest to climb. They are wet and with the monkeys around, have trash including banana peel on them. Be careful when you climb. Climbing those stairs takes a toll, go preferably on a relatively colder day with little humidity, and carry water.

Went to Batu caves about 30 years ago and 30 years from then, it still has the old charm and mystique from childhood. Besides being a popular tourist attraction, it is also a place of worship and for the pious followers. Take your time to walk up the 272 steps and be in awe as you stand above the entrance of the cave and look down to the sight of tourists, pigeons and monkeys.

Must have for tourist when in KL. Located 10km out of town, reachable by public transportation or grab. 275 steps with colorful staircase seem not too hard, all ages managed to get to the top. Recommendation to go on early morning if you want to take good photo and less crowded.

Really interesting Indian temples. It's not just a touristy place, but an actual place of worship with visiting devotees. Don't miss climbing up the stairs to the top inside the caves (wear comfortable shoes).

Beautiful temple 🛕 Definitely worth a visit! The climb is easy and there is lots of refreshment at the top. Would also recommend some of the vegetarian Indian restaurants opposite the temple if you’re looking for lunch 🥗

My all time favourite devotional place and give peace of mind. Besides praying and visiting sightseeing like Cave Villa, naughty Monkeys are captivating attractions there. Most of monkeys there are playfull but be careful with your belongings especially food items, they tend to steal 😉

Interesting spiritual experience. You can climb the stairs and get to the temple at the top where you'll have monks welcoming you for a prayer. Be careful about the monkeys, they are not that nice. There is a museum on the ground floor as well.

Beautiful place to see. You can easily reach by train from the city. If you want to avoid the tourist chaos it s better to go early around 8-8.30. This attraction is free And pay attention to the monkeys😁

It is a landmark in KL and attracts lots of tourist. Ladies needs to cover their leg and those wear shorts will be denied entry, unless they buy a piece of clothes at the foot of the hill (or stalls nearby) and cover up. Climb took forever (for the not so physically fit like me) but once on top, one will be rewarded with a big cool cave will a couple on Hindu shrine inside. Some parts where the wind flow was very cooling. The climb down looks easy but can be quite tricky. For transport to Batu, it is not advisable to take the train because the frequency is low and the wait for the next train can be up to an hour.

Beautiful cultural place. There are a few flights of stairs inside the cave after the main climb up at the entrance. The cave was one of the largest I’ve been to. Was interesting to see the devotees in their places of worship inside the caves.

I visited it in July 2023. It was hot and hard to climb the stairs in a dress , longer than my knees ( no pants allowed), but it was worth it. Inside the cave the air was cool. I was surprised to see that the people lit candles and used incense during the religious ceremony ( as it's been done in the Orthodox Church).

Feeding the monkeys and pigeons was the highlight for us in this trip. If you visit the bird zone , ensure to wear a mask. Such a culturally rich area. I wish they put an effort to keeping the place clean. For such a. Large number of visitors and patrons, there is little to no attention to keeping the place clean. Attention to the temple surrounding areas and overall ambience would do it a great favour. Despite all that, I think it's a signature Must see in KL.

Beautiful, spectacular and one heck of a climb. Lots of monkeys, please tread carefully. I went in the evening about 4pm so it wasn't hot, quite cool and was a lovely climb up 272 steps. Probably won't do it again but definitely something to do at least once in your lifetime.

Must see cave and temples. Enjoy the incredible cave formations and cheeky monkeys. Food and drink vendors. Great free experience or small voluntary donation if you please. Cheap and easy to get to by train or grab taxi from city. Highly recommend

Truly a great experience. Very scenic views of the caves and of the gigantic statue and the colored steps. Watch out for the monkeys all around, they will grab you if you have food or drinks visible. There were also some roosters and hens inside the caves.

Batu Caves is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. But to be honest, there’s not much to see there. And the government should improve the hygiene of the entrance area, and keep tourists from feeding monkeys with their own food.

It was a fine experience. It's always very busy and touristy. You'll find a lot of Monkeys on your way. Make sure you keep your belongings safe. There are a lot of stairs if you want to climb. It can give you a normal city view, not that much nice, but a good one. There are a couple of active temples there. The caves themselves are nice and give you a majestic vibe. There's one temple at the start and another one after climbing a few more stairs. It's always so humid, so take water bottles with you. There are a lot of shops around too but they are a bit more expensive than regular shops.

It is one of the most popular Hindu shrine outside India. Combination of caves and cave temple in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. The limestone forming Batu caves is sad to be 400 million years old. There are around 275 steps/stairs to reach in the caves. At the base of the hills there are two more cave temples. It's one the must visit place. Place is full of pigeons and monkeys. Kids will enjoy a lot with pigeons. You feed them also. Chargeable parking is available in the premises. Entry charges for car is 2RM/entry, for Lorry/bus is 10RM. Restaurant is available in the premises. You can have a food at reasonable price. Overall it's a beauty of colours. Scenic and photogenic place.

It's a good place to go. A bit far from the CBD but it's worth visiting here. The trains run only once in an hour so be careful. You'd better take Grab if you don't want to waste your time. There are so many pigeons and monkeys and people. And the 280 stairs are very hard.

Nice place to visit. Nothing much to do but to enjoy the view and the temple. The stairs are really smelly of monkey waste. It was not as hard as I expected and from the picture posted in Google. You'll definitely need to bring extra clothes as you will sweat a lot because of the weather and taking the stairs. We arrived early in the morning. Mens can wear shorts and go up. For the Ladies, the knees must not be showing. Bring something to cover up. Beware of the monkeys, they are thieft and stealing foods and other items from people. You can buy dove feeds for RM 5.00 Stunning view from the inside of the cave. Mostly Indian foods on the restaurant. No fried chicken alone. Bring your own water or you can also buy there, but no idea how much. A lot of coconut for refreshment on the restaurant. There is a beverage store at the end of the stairs above with souvenir items. If you wish to enter the temple, remove your shoes. Pay Toilet is available at the ground on the right side of the big statue for RM 0.50. Merchandise are also available. We took Grab for convenience.

A must experience. I was a bit concerned by the number of steps at first, but it was fairly easy going with loads of places to stop for a moment to recover. Very busy but just an amazing must do place to visit. Go all the way to the back (both caves with a second set of steps). Absorb in the whole amazing place. Lots of things to see in the vicinity, temples, resturants and shops.

Beautiful temple in the caves, decent amount of stairs involved. There are monkeys everywhere so be mindful of your belongings, those mischievous little guys get pretty grabby. Very popular tourist attraction so it’s quite busy. There are restaurants, toilets, gift shops all near the entrance area. I was very disappointed to see how much garbage there was everywhere. Watching the wildlife eating food wrappers and chewing old water bottles was pretty upsetting.

Visitors get two types of attractions in one: the temples and the massive caves. The statue and the steps are impressive to see in person. The climb up is pretty long but not all that difficult. It would help to get here before 8 AM to avoid the heat as well as the crowds that start to build up around 9. Didn’t see any monkeys early in the morning.

Staff told me it has been closed for three years (covid, i guess). There is just this closed gate, no sign or anything. I came to check it out following the 2022 edition of Lonely Planet, so it shows how little effort is given to update that guide given that this is ine of the main attractions in KL. I hope this note will help someone to make a desicion to come to Batu Caves or not. Dont beleive recent reviews describing the place, these reviewers are either confused of what they are reveiwing or late posting.

Well, now, where to begin. Dark Cave hasn't been open for 3 years. Being an avid spelunker, I was looking forward to a trip into the Dark Cave. Unfortunately, not. There's a chain and large padlock on the gates. I checked with the caves management office, and they just gave me a blank look when I offered to pay for a private guided tour. According to the staff, there's no plans to open the Dark Cave for the foreseeable future. My own take on why it's closed is that it probably costs them too much to maintain it. It's a pity because it's the only adventure cave at the site. Having a sign such as the one below is a complete joke. There's no wildlife in the two caves that are open. Unless you class pigeons as wildlife. Safe travels, Mega.

Pretty nice bonus after all the stairs up to the batu caves. While not cheap for a less than 1 hour tour, it is definitely unique and educational. Most of all, it is pretty scenic and exciting. If price doesn't feel too prohibitive, definitely worth a try.

One can’t go to Kuala Lumpur without visiting it. It’s very well preserved. Entrance is free. You have to bring comfortable shoes for the stairs. Carry your water bottle and avoid the sun

Educational trip of the fauna and flora of the cave. The cave is completely dark. The price of trip is adult RM 35 and child (below 12 years) RM 25. The trip took about 40-45 minutes. Helmet and torch light is provided. A good place to explore the ecosystem.

The Educational Cave exploration is really informative n eye opening.. we learned so much from the excellent guide. It cost rm35 each. Starts a around 11 am everyday. It is a must go when you are in the area. For the adventurous, there are more demanding tour package which involves climbing n sliding, etc.. 3 hrs tour that is only available during weekends. But have to book online in advance. This educational tour is definitely one of the highlights of Batu caves.

You have to get a ticket for visiting this, it will be a 45 mins of time for the entire trip in and out. It will be pitch dark at some points and in some it looks so beautiful. I decided to visit this place just after stepping out of Batu caves. They have age group from which they allow, so if your taking your children have a look at the clause before and plan accordingly. The guide with us was extremely comfortably with what he needs to explain us and she did a great job and everyone who were with me all unknown were happy that we took this up.

The cave is beautiful and the fish pond is fun. But the animals showcase inside the cave is kinda frustrating. Turtles are kept in very small tanks. Clearly, they don't have enough space and they are suffering. This is not okay and they should let them free or make way better living conditions.

The most horrible place i was. We went inside without really informe us before. The guy at the entry told us there was some art and hystory about the batu caves, so we took the tickets and went inside. In fact they have a lot of art but they have so many animals enclosed in super small cages. we saw birds, turtles, fish, rabbits, even dogs, closed in cages in horrible conditions. one of the aquariums had more than 10 fish of different sizes where they couldn't even swim because they didn't have space. turtles enclosed in tanks. A lot of rabbits, also one of them with its hair full of dreadlocks because of how poorly cared for it was. inside in two different cages there were 3 dogs closed, one was alone. dark cages where only a ray of sunlight entered. if you like animals do not enter in this place because you will leave with a broken heart

0 stars ❌ Do not support this attraction‼️ We entered thinking it was another beautiful temple & art space but they have created a ‘zoo’ of caged animals kept in appealing conditions! Large turtles and reptiles trapped in tiny spaces to live out their long lives; birds, rabbits and other animals put together in joint cages out in the heat they are not made for… and all these animals are clearly not correctly cared for 😭 There are beautifully painted caves, so there is NO NEED for this addition - this is animal cruelty for profit and the whole thing made us very uncomfortable. Stick to the Buddhist Batu Caves only!

I have few thoughts about this place. It has potencial. Very nice park vibe, fish lake, waterfalls, bridges, caves, dance show and animals (birds, fish & reptiles). Good place to rest after Batu climb. But there is a huge BUT, animals are in bad condition. Staff should do something about it. It is hard to watch. Reptile cave is the worst. Need to reconstruct place for animals, then I would give 5 stars! Overall romantic place, but please take care of animals!

The show n the waterfall place is nice, but the Photo Booth with parrots is kind of scam. They said big pictures for 50 rm and small for 30 rm. they gave us some discount but they mentioned after that will send pictures to whatapp n give digital copies but they never send. The lady in that photo booth kind of rude too. They dun let take a picture of parrots with our own camera or ph. Just with their camera.

A good place for retreat yourself after tired climb from batu caves . Entrance fee is RM5 . A big freshwater ponds await you as you can see big koi fish swimming around . One can purchase fish food to feed them . As you walk towards the Art Cave , you will notice a centre stage as where a parrot exhibition is been seen . There will be photographer to capture beautiful moments. It have mini stalls selling ice creams / drinks . Good for kids to cool down and they have ever electric bike for kids to play . Down the aisle will notice reptiles park. To be honest it's sad to see animals kept unwell in cage . One can find iguana , roosters , ducks stuffed , cramped area . Mainly you can capture beautiful moments of peacock showing its proud feather. The Art Cave was a letdown as the moment you enter it , can smell a bad stench of urine . I believe birds are natural habitats. There is literature arts of Tamil important figurines and wall painting inside . Nothing much actually.

Horrible horrible place. I was appalled at the conditions and state of the animals in Cave Villa. It was a very hot day and many animals did not have access to water or adequate shade. There were two chickens with bloody stumps. We can see clearly sadness in the eyes of every animal we encountered. There is a Cave called “Reptile Cave” where several animals were kept in tiny cages, enable to move. Most of the turtles turned white, because of hé lack of sun and light. A huge turtle, who is supposed to live in its natural habitat is hold captive in a 50cm aquarium. For the price of admission you would think the enclosures would be better maintained and bigger. I will not be returning and I will spread the word that this place seems not to have the animals best interests in mind. Huge animal mistreatment and cruelty!!

It says art gallery but it's almost like a small theme park. Entrance fee is only for MYR5. You can use toilet. Looking at ponds, feeding fish, Hindu gods art in the cave. A little resting place before Bath Cave.

Well worth the 5rm to visit this cave the detail in the artwork is fantastic, all the Walls are painted depicting scennes from Hindu religion

Worth the ticket price. It's very cooling and nice place to go after your temple visit. Recommended especially with the peacocks walking freely inside here. If you're lucky you can see them spreading their feathers.

There’s another alternative attraction next to batu caves next door called caves villa. 🛕🛕🛕 Not much to see but Indian arts. 🖼️🖼️🖼️ Tamil-English translation is available if you wanted to learn about the arts info and backgrounds. 🖼️🖼️🖼️ Besides the cave villa itself, there’s also a parrot photography vendor there too. 📸🦜🦜 Interested to learn about Hindu culture and mythology, caves villa is the place. 🖼️🖼️🛕🛕

As the other people that left their comments, I also wasn't expecting to come into a zoo where animals are being kept in a bad condition. Poor turtles and snakes seemed depressed.

This is names as Ramayana cave, it has entry ticket also, may be 20 ringgit. The caves is depicting the whole Ramayana in detailed manner. At some point I felt the story sequence is broken but it is nice. It has some steep stairs upside to go, and can be tiring. But it is not loo long, one can plan with slow moves, All the statues are nicely carved and coloured, There are two water coolers inside for drinking water. A meditation hall and chairs to sit. This is good place, after batus caves since it has water coolers and one can refill his bottle after a long tiring batu caves stairs.

Ramayana story beautifully crafted limestone cave . Entrance fee is RM5 . You will be greeted with Geetha Upadesha which means meaningful quote from bhavagad Gita & you will see big Vishnu statue near the cave . As soon you enter the cave complete silence . A cool breeze will make walking pleasurable. Be mindful of steps as after rains it quite slippery in the cave . Several statue with simple storyline makes us recreate Ramayana story in fun and engaging way . I will just highlight to the management that please off the LED light. As water drips into the wire , it's burst . Can cause electrocution. You may be tempted to climb the stairways upwards but trust me , it's nothing up there . It's dangerous steep steps . Careful when rains as natural water drops wets the steps .

The Ramayana Cave is a more immersive cave experience that leads you through the Hindu epic of Rama. It costs 10 Ringgits and they do accept card. There's a substantial stair climb to the upper cave that leads past a beautiful cave waterfall. Some parts of the cave system do not allow shoes out of respect for the shrines. It took less than an hour to fully explore and I highly recommend stopping here if you're visiting the Batu Caves.

Visited the Ramayana Cave back in February before the lockdown while also visiting the Batu Caves. This cave is overshadowed by the much more famous Batu Caves. The cave uses sculptures to tell the story of the Indian epic, the Ramayana. I’ve never read the story, but I got the gist of it from the sculptures. The story of Ramayana is presented with statues in chronological order, so it's easy to follow. All the sculptures are lovingly created in typical South Indian style, that is, brash and colourful. There is a entrance fee, but it's small and totally worth it. The Ramayana Cave is a real little gem.

It's a very short cave. Definitely not expensive but not what I was expecting. It had interesting history inside, but it wasn't particularly extensive. The statues and figures look like they were made in the 90s

This is another Hindu religious site. It is dedicated to the Ramayana legend. It receives far fewer visitors than the main cave. If you don't like crowds, check out this Cave. The internal areas of the cave are filled with mannequins depicting the Ramayana Legend. There's also a couple of waterfalls inside the cave. The entry fee is RM 5 per person. Safe travels, Mega.

The Ramayana Cave depicts the story of Rama, chronicled along the irregular walls of the cave as described in the Hindu epic. There is also a 15m (50ft) tall statue and a temple dedicated to Hanuman, a Hindu God and a divine companion of Rama. Very beautiful place to visit with so many instagramable photos you can take and the location is only a short walk from the Batu Caves.. I definitely recommend to visit.

A very famous and holy place to visit. You must visit only if you are fit to go 270 (approx) stairs. These are not easy to reach upstairs. Everyone is taking rest in between. Also there are many monkeys so keep your loose belongings with care. You have to climb two times once these stairs what you can see in normal pictures from outside and then there approx 70 stairs when you enter.

A sightseeing spot at Batu Caves. It cost RM 5/pax and it was totally worth the price!!! There are two large caves with multiple God's statues and stories. Well kept tourist spot. There are also lakes with fishes and a small zoo suitable for kiddo. Although some part is close for renovation but still highly recommended.

Fully functional venue for your outdoor sporting event. Parking is quite an issue if you're a latecomer. But you can park alongside the road kerb/ shopping lot in front of the stadium.

This stadium have good hospitality, beside it have petrol station, speedmart, tealive, ayamas, pizzahut, Maybank, health clinic, laundry all nearby the area. Love it.. there've bazaar Ramadhonn (BARAM) on the fasting month. Happening and lots of traditional dishes selling here. It's just a beginning after restriction of C19. Hope to see next year. Ramadhan is closing to end a few days. :(

Visited the Batu Caves back in February, so visited statue and temple while here. This statue of Hanuman is a 15 metre high sculpture. The depiction looks about about standard for the monkey god. While the size is impressive, it’s also painted in a garish green. The sculpture is located immediately to the left of the gated entrance of the Batu Cave complex. Worth a look if you’re visiting the Batu Caves.

It is just next to Batu cave and it can also be considered as entrance for Ramayan Museum where there are all statue work done for explaining Ramayan. Also there is big statue of Lord Narayan giving Gita_saar to arjun just before Mahabharata.

Cute statues just by the exit if Batu station! Before you see Batu Cave’s huge statue you would see it if you take train to this cave. Green animal face god!! Enjoy!!
