Breathtaking views, mistful walks & scenic beauties! We enjoyed every bit of being there & kids had a lot of fun. Blend of mountains, tall trees & river crossing right in the middle made the visit memorable. It took us almost an hour to go around & it was hard to leave since we live to spend time close to nature. We’ll be back soon before winter.

A very short detour off the road between Banff and Jasper. The falls is accessible from the parking and is only a couple of minutes walk. The water flow is heavy and the new between the canyon is not to be missed.

Very nice waterfall with a lot of great viewpoint. I recommend visiting this place when driving through Jasper National Park.

It is a relatively small waterfall. However, you can get so close up to the fall that it makes it feel special and unique. I have seen Niagara falls many times but for some reason this small and tiny waterfall was more enjoyable.

MAKE SOME TIME AND GET OUT HERE!!! Apologies for the all caps, but this place deserves to be seen. What an absolute sight to behold. Saying this place is majestic would be an understatement. Athabasca falls is a must visit for anyone visiting Jasper National Park. We visited the falls on a weekend and we were able to get parking even when there were a ton of cars.

It has all infrastructure for tourism, with parking lot, washrooms, signs, information about the falls. You have to walk along well-marked trails to see various parts of the waterfall. The place is really beautiful! It wasn't crowded when I went there, around 9am on friday, but there were a lot of people. The place receives buses with excursions. We stayed for around 45 min and we didn't do the entire trail. At this time it is possible to see both sides of the waterfall and go down to see the lake where the waterfall reaches.

You won't want to miss it, as the water flow is strong and the view of the canyon is simply breathtaking. Prepare to be amazed by this stunning waterfall, and the best part is, you don't have to trek for hours to enjoy it. Within just 5 minutes of walking from the parking lot, you'll find yourself in front of this natural wonder. Trust me, it's one of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen! If you're planning a trip to or from Jasper, this place is an absolute must-visit. Don't pass up the opportunity to witness the sheer beauty of this waterfall and take in the mesmerizing surroundings. You won't regret it!

The Falls themselves are beautiful! There are several view points only a few minutes from the parking lot by feet. But don‘t expect to ne alone. I would recommend getting there quite early (before 9 am!). Otherwise there is no guarantee that there is any free parking space.

Gorgeous waterfalls.. water's power on full display just like how it shows in Niagara.. rock is not weak but water is powerful.. June will be the best month to visit... you will probably walk 1.6km if you cover all spots here.. parking is very close to the waterfalls and the washrooms were not very clean but I guess they are not used properly by washroom visitors..

Pretty falls and super easy walk, but not THAT pretty and also get ready for bumper to bumper pedestrian traffic. You will have to get in line for that perfect photo that doesn’t show the crowd to make your friends jelly.

Such a beautiful area! It's a must see in Jasper. It has a pretty large parking lot, a lot of trails and the sights are fantastic! Can get quite crowded so best to get there early in peak seasons but it's worth it!

Very crowded but a beautiful stop to make. We almost skipped it but I'm so glad we didn't. The walk from the parking area to the falls is so short, so our 2 year old easily managed. Stayed for about 45 minutes reading plaques and taking photos.

What a great stopping point along the Icefields Parkway. There is a large parking area (including RV parking) with public bathrooms. There is a short, paved, flat trail to the falls, so it is easily accessible by all. Lots of water funnels into a small canyon. Great viewing points. Worth a stop.

Absolutely stunning. The force of the waterfall is so powerful. Very busy spot. There is a nice trail along the river which was not busy at all.

My wife and I had a great time visiting this waterfall. Being so close and experiencing the falls from the viewing areas was a highlight. There was much more to see as we made our way along the paths. Very busy lots of tour buses which is to be expected. Another great memory for us.

Truly speaking an average waterfall (compared to many other river falls around the world) on the Athabasca river. Super easy to visit, a quick walk, and crowded.

It's a wonderful cascade with a big mountain in the background. A quick 5 min walk, the viewing area is rather tight but you will able to take your photos with a little patience. Do check out the other spots that lead on from the main spot. Late afternoon, close to sunset was a nice time to visit with the waterfalls in shadow and the mountain in warm light. Regular footwear is sufficient.

Beautiful scenery, I saw lots of people just stopping to get a picture by the entrance, but if you have time, walk the short trail nearby and go down to the river as well!

Time to trip back from Jasper on Sep 11, 2023. 1st stop from Lake Maligne to Motel David Thompson. Strongly felt how powerful the flowing water can be. It simply pushes away, carves or cuts everything in its way, although it takes time. Same feeling at Natural Bridge and Maligne Canyon.

A experience that we never forget. The tour is amazing, Views are breathtaking and the bus driver was really amazing and informative. Our group totally enjoyed it.

Amazing, eye-catching location to enjoy nature at its best. One can see and enjoy glacier's view from quite near. One very important thing to note, please wear proper thermals before visiting this place anytime of the year as no matter what the wind speed and the chill is quite high in this area.

Visited here during the month of July. Place was very busy. There is short steep hike to the foot of the glacier. It is sad to see how glacier has resided over the years. They have markers indicating where the foot of the glacier was based on the year. However it was a beautiful experience visiting the glacier. There are Glaciaer torus, which you have to book ahead of time.

One place you must visit before it’s all gone due to climate change!!! Stunning views of surrounding mountains and valley, the glacier can be visited through the tour services where you can book your way up there and experience a very special sight of blue and green crevices in the ice, drink glacier water and admire this stunning place!!!

Went there in August, it was chilly but super gorgeous and nice! It’s a worth trying experience. Hurry, the glacier is melting super fast. There are two ways to get there from the parking: 1) buy admission tickets - overpriced but lovely experience. Depending on the admission tickets, you can either hike or bus there with a guide. 2) you can hike to the glacier on your own from the parking place. Free but limited experience because there are safety fences that would stop you from hiking on the ice. Both the experiences are great! All you need are hiking shoes for icy surface, warm clothes and plenty of water :))) Enjoy!!!

Well worth a visit. Photos and recessional moraines show how fast the glacier is retreating. The snow vehicles are amazing, comfortable and warm. Guides are knowledgeable and help keep you from wondering off and falling down a crevasse (no chance of that if you stay within the flags). I filled my water bottle with glacial run off water after the guide said it was OK from a specific point where the water crops out of the glacier. Deliciously cold and refreshing.

Very worth it to brace the cold and wind to see the glacier. Definitely bring a coat outside of Summer. The sense of scale and the approach on a clear day is worth the trek!

The air in this place is the cleanest i have ever breathed. I really recommend visiting this place. It is beautiful, has a lot of history about the retraction of the glacier and a nice trail. Remember to enjoy this visit!

Great tour of the ice field, gives you a perspective how fast the ice is melting, you can actually see it and taste it. There is a small stream where you can drink fresh cold glacier water. I just got a little disappointed because we were confined to a small area of the Glacier, but in the name of conservation and for our one safety rules have to be followed

Incredible experience! We went in July, and it was beautiful. Amazing to see the speed at which it is melting. Bring many layers! It was very very windy and the wind over the glacier is extra chilling. Make sure to bring your water bottle and taste the water!

We went after thanksgiving and turns out all tours end that weekend. Would have been great to go on the glacier but we did the short hike up to the bottom and it was nice to see something that is quickly disappearing.

Perfect, enchanting and mesmerizing place! Our group fell in love with the views😍😍😍 to start with the tours are meticulously organised and the time is perfectly enough set. We had 30 minutes on the glacier and then as much as wanted on the skywalk, but till 7 pm when the last shuttle left. One thing to take into account is that the restaurants are working till 6 pm only. So do take some regular snacks with you provided you want to stay till 7 pm😜😝😍

Remember to bring a beanie. The temperature here is 10degrees lower than the base lodge. The views are superb, breathtaking and reminds us to use less product and protect our beautiful natural landscape. Brewster did a great job on this tour.

Amazing place. The walk on the glacier is a must, take a water bottle so you can taste the clear water. The sights are breath taking. Fun trip to the glacier on the the glacier explorer vehicles and bus driver was really amazing and informative.👍🏻🥰

Such a very cool (no pun intended) and unique opportunity. Each of our drivers was personable and full of really fun and interesting facts about the area and the glacier. Highly recommend the visit.

Had a great time seeing glacier with family. Known to be one of the three permanent glacier on earth. Glacier is being receded over time though. Definitely one of the most visitable places in Rockies. You can walk up a bit on the glacier. But highly recommend taking the snow car? serviced by Columbia ice field

This has been my dream. I am not built for any sports. I have the weakest knees and lungs but this girl is a dreamer. Yes the hike was a struggle and there is a whole story of my journey. But we are here for the place because we could have different experiences. Not that mine was bad. I usually post pictures and let the picture tell the story and for you to decide how amazing it is to walk on a glacier.

Here is a glacier you can walk to from a highway and astonishing how much it's retreated in just our lifetime. Wonderful views from Glacier View Lodge across but recommend walking if you are able or take the bus.

We drove here early in the morning to avoid potential crowds. There was lots of parking and public washrooms available. We saw the melting glacier coming down in a small stream. There is a short, steep hike to get to the glacier, with markers and info plaques along the way showing the melting rate of the glacier. The actual glacier was fenced off Worth a visit!

The Athabasca Glacier in Banff is a must-see natural wonder. Even if you only stop at the parking lot, the view is simply breathtaking. Its proximity to the highway makes it incredibly accessible, and I was able to capture an amazing photo. The sheer beauty of the glacier against the surrounding landscape is a sight to behold. Next time, I plan to take a walk and get even closer to this stunning piece of nature.

We booked the ice explorer tour to the glacier through pursuit. It was an amazing experience to ride those ginormous vehicles. Our tour guide Sebastian was warm and welcoming with a sense of humour. The loaded onto the bus was the a bit long but everything else was very smooth and timely It was very busy on the thanksgiving weekend We were fortunate to get off the vehicles onto the glacier to snap some photos. It was very cold because of the freezing winds even on a sunny day. The ice was very slippery and quite a few people were falling down. Highly recommend wearing boots and winter wear for this adventure.

One of the highlights of my holiday. We went on an ice field explorer tour (on the giant bus) to get here. Incredible to think the glacier is 10,000 years old. And you get to drink some of the freshly melted water. The tour guides were great too. The memory of this glacier will stay with me forever.

Once in a lifetime experience, seeing up close the Glacier. The driver, aka guide, is super friendly! Would go back to do a half day hike in the glacier.

Incredibly gorgeous scenic trail with plenty of pretty falls. You will fall in love with this place instantly. The trail is an easy 4.4km/2.74 miles round loop that is very kid and dog friendly. Going to the 5th bridge can get a bit muddy and you'll be attacked by lots of mosquitoes at that point. Trail is a bit crowded, the further you go, the less crowded it gets.

Beautiful frozen falls!! We booked a tour in the last week of March 2023. They provided us a helmet, water proof winter boots and ice cleats. It is best to follow a tour guide because you have no idea what it looks like while walking along the canyon. We were so lucky to walk/hike through the bottom of the canyon at this time of the year. It was great experience. My daughter (6yr) was able to hike along the canyon, walked along the river, some time sliding down the ice. Absolutely we are coming back for summer time to see the differences.

We went to Maligne Canyon in January and we had an amazing day of hiking! Everything about this canyon is breathtaking! If you happen to go during the winter season, I would recommend wearing winter hiking boots with very good traction or ice crampons. The trails were very icy. However, don't let the winter season stop you from going. There were hardly anyone on the trails when we went and the scenery is so beautiful in the winter. A must see!

This canyon walk/hike is beautiful. Definitely worth visiting. Majestic views of canyon. If you can get a guide, that would be great. They explain so much. Just gorgeous

Very nice place ! there are lots of small bridges that you can explore. Moderating Trekking, but make sure you have water with you. Perfect place for mountain and nature lover people. Don’t worry about the parking because there is dedicated parking area and it is quite large. MUST VISIT PLACE :)

I’d never been in the winter before. Frozen waterfalls and water worn canyons were amazing. There are three different trail loops. Doing the first two were quite easy even without the proper shoes. Spiked shoes are a must to go on the longer trail.

Absolutely gem of a place to be at. So calm and relaxing place nourishes the mind body and soul. Great views throughout the walk. It is a long walk if you want to cover the whole canyon. The tracks are very clearly marked just make sure you carry the map, that helps tremendously to decide and discover the path.

Well this was a great experience, we did the trails and also walked the Canyon, it was all iced, the views were spectacular. There were thick sheet of ice and the falls were completely frozen. The ice has started to melt and hence this trek got a little difficult, so please be extremely cautious and don't forget the cleats. This is a must see attraction. Please like my review if you find it helpful.

Easy hike trail, easy to navigate through GPS. Beautiful place to visit. But I would rather come when it is more quiet and peaceful without too many visitors. Come early in the morning to get the most benefit of this place. Don't forget to stop at Maligne Canyon sight seeing where you could see the Athabasca valley. Overall, a great experience.

Great ice walk through the canyon, all kit supplied as part of the booking, boots, cleats and helmets. The tour guide was fab and the frozen waterfalls are breathtaking. Tasty lunch also supplied.

It was a great experience and I wish I had done my usual research. This would have led me to bring my crampons, from home and I would have been able to walk longer. I might come back in the summer so I can enjoy both the winter and summer hiking.

Stunning view. Easy to hike. If you bike here. I recommend parking at fifth bridge and hiking along trail 7 ( river side). Then go back to fifth bridge by trail 7h.

Decent hike, trails are maintained at time of visit. Some good views but it's not much more than that. After the 3rd bridge we turned back to go, other visitors were doing the same. After the 2nd bridge you don't get anything you haven't seen already other than a big hike if that is what your after.

This is a trail where you start at the top and go down. In this case what goes down must come back up. The trail is marked in sections by the bridges you cross. The main parking and visitor centre is at the top and the trail is paved with fences and stairs. The path as far as the fourth bridge is steep but wide and paved with a lot of stairs. My wife and I started on this path together. Both of us being in our 70s, I made the chivalrous gesture of climbing the stairs to get the car. I instructed my wife to continue down the trail to the fifth bridge while I climbed the stairs and there is a parking area at the fifth bridge where I would meet her. I told her to take lots of pictures because I wanted to be able to see what I missed. It had been drizzling all day but as I said the trail was very good and neither of us anticipated any problems. I turned back at the third bridge to get the car. It was only a short distance to the fourth bridge and then over a kilometre to the fifth bridge. After climbing the many stairs to reach the top I drove around to the fifth bridge and she was not there yet. I waited half an hour and finally heard from her. She had had a very bad experience as the trail beyond the fourth bridge had turned into a narrow muddy footpath. They really should have had warning signs particularly in the wet conditions. My wife had a terrifying experience from the fourth bridge on. When I finally saw her coming she was about to break down in tears. However she looked so pitiful covered in mud that I started laughing and that turned her tears into laughter as well.

Impressive canyon with a series of roaring waterfalls channeling through its narrow canyon walls. The most scenery is hiking from bridges 1 to 4. Bridge one is a little tricky to find as it starts behind the tea house area from the parking lot. It’s got a great view though so don’t miss it. Bridges 5 and 6 are farther away and can be driven to. The scenery though with these two bridges is not as impressive.

Spectacular canyon, worth the visit. Canyon has 6 levels and if you have the time try to walk them all but you’ll need a few hours. Make sure you have good walking shoes as the trail can be slippery if wet .The wilderness kitchen is also nice to sit for lunch , great atmosphere with a lovely open fire.

This year, we went both in summer and winter time and both times it was beautiful. It has a total 6 bridges and it’s all downhill. Doable for families but is not very accessible for strollers or wheelchair. The canyon walk in winter is absolutely stunning.

This natural wonder is truly fascinating. The highlight of the trail lies between bridges 1 to 5. Particularly, the segment from bridge 4 to 5 showcases an awe-inspiring water color that is simply amazing. Although the trail is short, be prepared for a bit of an up and down journey. It’s a small adventure that’s well worth the effort.

It's more of a steep and deep creek than a canyon, with a well maintained trail (railings, fence, stairs etc. for the most part) and spectacular views to enjoy at any time of the season.

We did this walk in June, after a day of unexpected snow fall. The path was slippery, but the snow gave extra appeal to the colors of the rocks/canyon and the river. The canyon is very narrow and deep in the beginning of the hike, so up to the third bridge you can hardly see the river. From the fourth bridge on the view and the canyon widens.

We came at the end of March, and the canyon still looked great! Unfortunately the full trail was really icy and snowy which made it really hard to hike. Apart from that great trail and highly recommend!

Fantastic experience with magnificent views. We were allowed to bring our small dog with us ($6 extra fee). He loves heights and looking down on things. The hike to the top of the summit was a bit strenuous given the steepness of the slope but there are lots of rest spots along the way. There are also some viewing platforms and a small boardwalk at the upper terminal with spectacular views if you chose to not do the hike to the summit. I bought tickets online the evening before and it was a smooth transaction. We got a small discount for our early morning trip. Nice snack shop and restaurant at the top, with a small gift shop. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, gave interesting talk on way up. The tram was not too crowded in the early morning. This is probably one of the best activities to do in Jasper with a big “Wow” factor. Highly recommended.

That place is something you must go. The view is amazing once you're up there. Temperature is colder than down the city, so maybe get something warm. The hiking is a great experience, not for thoses with physical limitations. Totally worth the ride there and pay to get at nearly the top of the gondola. After, there is easily more than 1 kilometer of hiking you can do to reach the top of mount Whistler at 2464m. A experience for everyone you shouldn't miss.

Amazing place to see the glorious rockies and Athabasca River. The tram itself is smooth with not a lot of bumps. Takes about 7.5 minutes to reach the top. The top has some spectacular views of the mountains, valleys, river, and town of Jasper. There is a gift shop and restaurant with cool 270-degree views. We enjoyed our time in the skytram and at the top. The boardwalk and hike were doable as well. Again, the views... It's just too good. They do allow strollers on the tram, and you could use the boardwalk to take a shortwalk on the mountain. Definitely recommend booking in advance and making it on time. They have ice cream shop and cafe at the start of the tram as well.

Loved it! I recommend the snow shoes, or bring your own cleats. It’s definitely a bit steep 1/2 way up if you choose to go to the summit. The ride up was quick in the tram

Jasper SkyTram Must say sometimes the nature has different plans but was glad to find out the apps are also sometimes doesn't comply much with the weather forecast said by one of the employees though we didn't really check the weather as we booked our tickets previously. Just wanted to have the cable car experience with kids and well kids still loved it but little clearer view would have been more awesome but we still enjoyed the white snowy covered view in the whole travel time. I might add some pictures after as my wife takes an active part looking through a lense and must say she surely takes better pictures than me. It's a fun ride to be in and we will surely be back in the summer.

Incredibly beautiful views. Easy summit. The tram ride is worth the price! I recommend buying the tickets online in advance. Great customer service: we dropped a phone on the waiting center uphill, we filed a report, they looked for it and delivered it right away

I was so nervous about doing this, especially after being hit with that snowstorm. Hands down the most spectacular views ever! We were literally right in the clouds at eye level with the mountain peaks! Not only were the views out of this world, the staff were absolutely fantastic! We will never forget this part of our out west adventure! A must-add to your bucket list!! Photos taken June 2023.

Approximately 7 mins ride to reach the upper station where the view of the town site was amazing. Traveling with 2 young kids, and being physically unfit, we did not complete the hike to the summit. Temperature was definitely cooler up there and a lot windier. In hindsight, we could have completed the hike if we had booked the return in 3 hours instead. We did not prebook as the weather was quite unpredictable the days before, so took our chances on a clear day and had to wait for approx 1hr for the flight.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Restaurant service could be better, but the food was good. My burger was tasty, but the patty was a little dry. It was quite cloudy when we went up.

Lifetime experience on this highest tram in Canada with a seven and half minute flight. The staff on the tram give you a good narrative of what you see outside as you go up. An amazing walk on the mountain top. Wear layers while up there as it can get real windy. When we were up there the temp was lower by 8 degC as compared to the base station

This landmark attraction was worth visiting. It has nice picnic areas at the base station, and clean washrooms. I went during an off peak season in October, and was able to get tram tickets with no issue. If it was busier you will want to book tickets ahead of time. The view is great riding the tram to the top and also at the station at the top. You might want to stand near the back on the way up and in the front on the way down for better photo views. The cafe at the top station was a nice place to hang out to rest. The hike to the Whistlers summit can be strenuous, you will want to have hiking shoes, water and hiking poles if possible. For older folks they may need to take frequent breaks going to the true summit, as it can be steep plus higher elevation. The false summit is less strenuous and still provides nice photos and views. Overall it was an interesting attraction, while tickets were slightly pricey, it was worth the price.

It was such an incredible experience, the views were stunning and there wasn't a long wait for the boarding of the Tram. The service was quick, and amazing. The crew had incredible knowledge to share especially if you get Patrick as one of the guides. Overall it was great, and even better for a place for your family to go and if you're looking for a long hike then this is the place to go. Might be pricey but the memories are worth it!!!

Great experience. Just make sure you trust how the system works because this might not be pleasant to someone who is afraid of heights. The operators are very knowledgeable and give you a nice description of what you are seeing on your way up & down. The staff is really friendly. Extra hike at the top of the mountain but make sure to pace yourself (oxygen available to breathe is reduced). Nice little restaurant for a romantic moment. Good food and drinks. Points of view to take pictures.

A wonderful sight in a great town. You are efficiently lifted to a beautiful hight for a wonderful vista. The hike to the vista was difficult for this person from a sea level home but ready for many. The view is fantastic and worth it.

Be prepared for a long wait for departure! But the beauty up there worth the waiting. Parking is available. We were there weekend probably would be less crowded weekdays. Bring water for a long trail and prepare food and drinks, every thing at the skytram are twice or triple the actual price

Exploring Jasper from a different perspective was an absolute blast! A group of us hopped on a 7-minute tram ride that whisked us to the top of the mountain, offering breathtaking views along the way. After days of hiking, it was the perfect respite we needed to rejuvenate There's a delightful little cafe at the base of the tram and a shop at the summit where we all bought neatly designed stickers. The cafe served up some of the most incredible coffee. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this experience. It allowed me to me to see the town of Jasper and the miles of surrounding mountainous terrain in a whole new light.

Absolutely a breathtaking attraction point. Worth the money to go to the almost top of mountain. The trail is fairly difficult as there are a lot of slopes to go up. You can go the the extension of the trail to get more beautiful views of the Jasper city.

What an amazing adventure and bucket list view of the mountains. Breath taking and surreal. Several items on the website were not available and our waitress was not very knowledgeable on the available menu items. When asked a question she responded very rudely and walked away. Took her 25 minutes to bring 2 Ceasers to our table that we could see sitting on the bar for 20 of those 5 minutes. There was less then 30 people sitting to eat with several other servers. She constantly would shake her head in disgust every time she left a customers table. Super unwelcoming. Other then the incredible view and hike, would not go again. Experience = 5 stars Service = 2 stars Even the gondola conductors had better customer service.

We visited in March, this was a good view of Jasper, be aware you are going up a mountain and so weather conditions can change. We were stuck on top for 1.5 hour whilst it was stormy.

So glad we took the Skytram up Whistlers Summit. The "flight" takes about 7 minutes. Once at the top, you have absolutely gorgeous views of Jasper and the surrounding area. At around 60 CAD per person round trip, it isn't cheap but is totally worth it. We went in early October. There were still many visitors due to thanksgiving weekend, and we needed to wait an hour for our flight after we bought tickets. Return time is pre-booked when you buy tickets, but you can come down earlier if there is space on the tram.

Thats just a perfect place if you love heights! Late night sessions were awesome experience, I strongly recommend. We didn't see much in the sky since the weather wasnt nice that day, but still a wonderful experience!

100% must do while in Jasper! The ride itself is a chill smooth 7 minutes and the employee along is knowledgeable and can answer anything you want to know. We went on a cloudy day and breaking through the clouds on the way up was beautiful. Once you're up the hike to the summit can take you anywhere from 30 mins - 1hr depending on your pace and the conditions. Mid October there is already snow. The view at the false summit and summit are just incredible and it's a perfect spot for a special moment. We didn't go to the restaurant but did get a nice skytram magnet for the memories. MUST DO THIS!!!

Nice stop if you're in the Jasper area. Pyramid Lake right beside this location might have a more nicer view but it's still very nice with not much of a crowd.

Very stunning and breathtaking views of Pyramid mountain around the lake. Water was clear. Parking is available but the lot is very small. Walk to the lake is not far from parking lot. Lake is surrounded by the mountains and forest. Views are amazing. You can cover this lake and Pyramid Lake in same day trip. A must visit place when visiting Banff and Jasper!! Highly recommend!!

We were staying at the Patricia lake bungalows and the bungalows is right facing the lakes. The water is quite clear and there is a dock where you may explore the beauty by boats. Come in the autumn and it is worth visiting for several times.

Shortly after we arrived at the parking lot, a group of elks came by. A truly magnificent scenery!

A really beautiful Lake about a 45 minute walk from Jasper, with its clear water and stunning surroundings, it is easy to see why it is a very popular Lake to visit for tourists on the way to pyramid Lake, mainly due to the easy access by car. If you walk here, bring bear spray. Lake freezes Iver in the winter.

Stunning location. One of the most beautiful spots in Jasper National Park. It’s amazing how peaceful this place is. You really get impressed by the nature. Definitely is a must seen location!

A very nice lake to take a canoe on and paddle around. Parking unfortunately is rather sparse and it can get quite busy. They have different types of watercraft and the only motorized is an electric boat which is nice for keeping it peaceful. We took a canoe out for an hour and that was plenty. They also have kayaks, paddle boats, row boats and a motorized family carrier.

Another beautiful lake within 5 minutes of Downtown Jasper. The crystal clear waters of the lake are worth viewing during clear days.

What a place this is. It's surreal, it's beautiful, and it's fantastic. The views, the roads, the mountains, everything was perfect. We were fortunate that the weather was also lovely, and we enjoyed every bit of it. Walking on the skywalk was a fantastic experience. It felt scary in the beginning, but overall, it was fun. We were able to click some great pictures.

Great views. A really well engineered tourist attraction. FYI: unable to drive up to location and enter to "look down" but must instead go to the ticketing building, purchase tour ticket, board a bus, get driven for approx. 7 mins to the location whilst hearing some facts about the area, then enter for sightseeing. The return buses come every 10 mins or so to take you back to your vehicle.

This place is a must visit if you are traveling through Jasper or Banff. From this bridge you need to drive another 10 minutes to the parking lot, after which you go on a bus and they will take you to the bridge and back. The first steps on this bridge caused fear for me personally, but on the third approach to this bridge I felt very comfortable and was lucky with the weather: it was very warm and sunny. But I think this place is beautiful in any weather. I was also amazed by the selection of souvenirs in the store. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to have lunch in the cafe, but I will definitely come back here again!

Columbia Icefields is a unique experience. We went in September. There was no snow anywhere except in Columbia Icefields. It was so surprising and enchanting. It's about 10 degrees cooler at the Skywalk than the rest of the parkway, so dress up accordingly. We saw snow goats from the Skywalk, it was so awesome.

Absolutely spectacular. Very safe vehicle and fairly easy to get in and out of for older people. The drive to the glaciers in the specially made vehicles is very up and down...steep inclines. Our driver Jess made it seem easy. Great tour guide and driver. Jess was very pleasant and funny! There were a few people who fell walking on the glacier but you just have to take it slow. Glacier is outstanding. A once in a lifetime opportunity.

An unmissable place when you visit Banff/Jasper.. you will be amazed with the natural beauty, serenity and sheer size of glacier. Take a jacket without fail, as the glacier is less than 10degrees even during peak summer. Also advance booking of ride to glacier is a must!

If you are going to the icefield, yuo may as well get the package to visit the Skywalk whilst you are there. Personally I would do the Skywalk first if possible. The Columbia Icefield Skywalk is a popular tourist attraction located in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. Really nice place , the staff and crew were very good. I wish they could regulate the number of people on the sky walk. Too crowded, no room to move or take pics . Given covid , even more reason to socially distance. My tip - take the last trip out at 17.30, the crowd thins out and you have some place to breathe and move around

The views are great and walking on that glass pathway is a thrill in itself. Interesting to see the engineering behind it. Took a little while to grab the bus back to the welcome center but it's alright. Not necessarily a must see, but definitely worth it if you have the time.

If you’re going to Banff and Jasper then a must do activity and excursion. It’s unbelievable to stand and walk on a 10000 year old glacier. Columbia icefield glacier team is great very courteous and experienced. There discovery center is great 👍🏻. Overall a fabulous and fantastic experience.

The skywalk is a wonderful experience. The price-performance ratio is still ok. If you travel here by bus, you should take plenty of time. There is so much to see, experience and learn. All around the mountains and the glaciers, and also the animals like the mountain goats and the bears. You also learn how important nature and climate protection are for the preservation of the glaciers and their lakes.

We did just the skywalk (no glacier walking tour - so can’t comment on that) and were pretty disappointed. It’s essentially a glorified rest stop at the side of the road, with okay views but nothing remarkable compared to other spots along the highway and in the nearby national parks. You arrive at the glacier centre and they take you on a bus up to the skywalk (which you already drove past). You walk around for a while, walk across the glass skywalk, then get the bus back. Frankly, the views from the glacier centre where you board the bus are better than the skywalk. Unless you’re super keen to walk on glass, I’d suggest you just skip it and enjoy a coffee/lunch in the cafe, which was quite nice and reasonably priced.

Visited on Sep 10, 2023. The regular shuttle bus back from the Columbia Icefield bypasses the visitor centre and goes further north on HWY 93 to arrive here directly. A little scared at the right beginning on the glass but soon ok. Another way to become better is to look at the horizon instead of looking down. Good view and worthy.

It was such a great time. Took my father in law. It was our first time. There was some maintenance being done, so we couldn't walk the whole thing, however we still had access to over half of it and the views are spectacular. There's no rush which is nice.

We arrived with bad weather so the viability at times was not great but we did see and photograph some beautiful scenery and loved how easy it was to walk around with no restrictions. The skywalk gave you stunning views of the mountains, rivers and Glaciers. The structure was amazing so make sure you also check it out. Bus does run frequently to and from the Columbia Icefield centre and access is very easy.

This was one of the most amazing experience. A bit overpriced but definitely worth it. There was frequent buses to get to the skywalk. It is long and wide enough for a large crowd. Lots of information boards around to get more information about the animals and site. It was a bit jarring to step on the glass but once you step into it than it gets better

This is a bizarre addition to the Columbia Ice Fields tour that doesn't make sense. There used to be a nice pull out area to park vehicles and enjoy the scenery. Now the entire area is occupied by this mammoth steel structure that extends into the valley with a small glass section. It begs the question why??? This sky walk adds another 1 hr to the ice field tour, which typically used to take about 2 hrs. Now it takes almost 3hrs in total with no access to a washroom after you left the main building. A bus will directly take you from the ice field tour to this new location. Some people had opted to skip this and stay in the bus to continue to the visitor centre. This is one of the sad realities of ultra commercialization of the Banff/Jasper National Parks.

Walking across the bridge is a truly great experience, and you need not worry because the glass is incredibly strong and safe. The view of the mountains and waterfalls from the bridge is awe-inspiring. Keep an eye out, as you might even spot mountain goats beneath the bridge. If you enjoy heights, this is an absolute must-visit destination. Be sure to purchase a ticket in advance, as you cannot stop on the side of the highway to access it. Also, it's essential to be prepared since there are no washroom facilities available at this location.

The views were stunning. I had a tickling sensation in my stomach from the walk on the glass-floor observation platform overlooking a 280m drop 😅🤩. Peace of advice: go to the washrooms before heading into the bus for the skywalk. There are no toilets when you arrive. The washroom in our bus was always closed. We had to use the bushes 🙃

Feel of adventure with touch of care! Great activity to do if you're feared of heights, it feels so safe and solid which helps you overcome the fear of height. Great place of visit with young kids. Car parking is located 6km east of the actual structure with free super comfy bus shuttle is available every 15 minutes. Highly recommended place!

One of the best place ever visited. Like a heaven. This place is really awesome. View is breathtaking. It is more beautiful then the videos and pictures. At least Once in a life, I really recommend. Weather is changing anytime so we have to be aware of weather before heading.

Enjoyed the icefield and the skywalk. The kids (age 10 and 8) enjoyed walking in the ice. The parents were more freaked out on the skywalk than the kids. The icebus thing goes down a 32 degree angle road, which is also pretty crazy.

A once in a lifetime experience at The Jasper National Park Icefields! I will never forget this amazing experience walking on the glacier! It was absolutely magnificent!! The ride up on the ice explorer was incredibly entertaining. It was hysterical to watch everyone slip sliding around, trying to maintain their balance! Make sure to wear proper footwear! I was amazed to see a lot of people wearing shorts with no jackets! It definitely gets cold up there, so dress in comfortable layers. You are encouraged to bring your own bottle to sample some of the refreshing glacier water right from the stream. If you are anywhere near Jasper, put this adventure on your bucket list and go!

It's a beautiful place to visit, we visited by rental car and from calgary to Jasper it was such a good experience to watch so many beautiful places on our route. Could not imagine we could cover so much in 4 days in short trip and fifth day back to Toronto. Must go once if you are a nature lover.

What an experience. Carry good jackets because it's very windy out there. The trip on the bus to the glacier was wonderful. It is best to go here in mid or late summer. We paid for the skywalk too which is nothing much to write about but I guess some people might like it.

$500 for a family of 4... No thanks. But, nice views of the glacier and clean bathrooms.

What an amazing experience. The guide was so informative. It's a very popular tourist attraction but absolutely stunning. We were taken on a shuttle bus to get the ice buses, which have enormous wheels. We reached the glacier and spent approximately 30 minutes tootling about. There are marked boundaries which you have to stay within, because there are crevasses which the unsuspecting could fall in! If you ever get the opportunity, do it.

I arrived late so they put me on standby. I was able to get on the bus half an hour later. The guide on the Icefield Explorer was a Brit. He was excellent with information and very funny too. He took photos of me and we got another guide to take photos of us. The Glacier was cool! I even drank the ice cold and very refreshing water. Not too slippery unless you walk down to the stream of melting glacier. Scenery was spectacular. The building is beautiful but there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to it. I suppose there must be elevators for people with mobility issues. Inside, there’s a lovely gift shop and Starbucks. Upstairs there’s a restaurant but I think it was only open for events. I’m not 100 percent sure. There are hiking trails just outside and there are some hungry ravens and chipmunks outside.

So worth it!!! Great to do for families! We did a package that included this and so happy we did! Wear warmer clothes and defiantly try the glacier water you can kneel down and scope some water into your mouth WOW! That best! They talk about the facts of the area during the small amount of time in the big rigs. Very interesting. They say it won't exist in 50 years so see it while you can!

Experience of a lifetime. Booking in advance you don't have to wait in line. Once you land at the discovery centre, you have to stand in line 15 before your bus leaves to take you to the Ice explorer. You have to spend 25 minutes and then they transfer you to the Skywalk. Earlier the better. Carry water and food as things are expensive. No washrooms once you get on the bus. It takes about two hours. Dress warmly as the glacier is cold and wear proper shoes.

If you have kids in between 8 years or above must visit this place. Buy the pursuit combo with the skywalk in $103/person. Light Cloudy and sunny atmosphere is good for enjoy the ice field. No special clothes requirement if you go in sunny days. Use the back side parking lot if you came from Calgary side.

We really enjoyed visiting the glacier and learning the history of the area. The Skywalk was neat as well, but the highlight was definitely the glacier. I downloaded the app and tour before we left and really enjoyed the additional information it provided - if you like details, I highly advise doing this!

Buy tickets in advance. Ice explorer and visiting the glacier is an amazing experience and one that won't be around much longer thanks to rising temperatures. We had lunch at the buffet restaurant after and the food was great. There is a small set of exhibits but nothing big. This stop is all about the views of the glacier and ice field and taking the glacier scheduled tours.

This was a unique experience! The entire adventure was slick and well organised, and certainly enhanced by the expertise and sense of humour of our drivers and guide: Abby, Cal and Sam. It was a short 5 minute bus ride from the Discovery Centre, over moraine, to the transfer centre. Here we boarded the specialised 6 wheel drive, Ice Explorer which navigated the steep terrain (33% slope!) to reach the glacier. There was a designated safe area within which we could wander for 30 minutes. The blueish glassy sections were very slippery. Less so on the churned up ice. Sturdy walking shoes and warm gear were essential. There was a Canadian flag which made a great prop for photos! If you remember (wish I had!) to take a small cup, you are able to sample the water from streams in the small crevasses. There are no amenities at the transfer centre/glacier, so be sure to make use of them at the Discovery Centre before you depart!

This is one of attraction you don’t want to miss, ice field, skywalk. You should come to see the magnificent scenery and enjoy the glacier view. Take tour bus and ice explorer to experience walking on the glacier, it was amazing. Bus drivers are all super friendly and funny we really enjoyed it.

Beautiful spot. Cafeteria prices are high. $60 for a whole pizza, yikes! Clean restrooms (a.k.a. washrooms in Canadian). Wonderful opportunity to walk on a glacier. Scenery is incredible. You are going to take a ton of photos. One of the most scenic highway drives you'll ever experience.

If you want to experience the Glacier up close you should definitely visit the Columbia icefield. You need to come to the visitor centre to get your tickets or you can purchase them online. The place has a free wifi even though such remote location. The washrooms are pretty neat and water dispensers available. The place also has Starbucks and a restaurant for food and a gift shop for souvenirs. You will meet some amazing staff around who are very friendly. I would recommend buying tickets online booking your slots as it gets crowded in the kiosk.

Glacier tour is a very cool experience. Base station has nice washrooms, gift shop and a Starbucks. Bus drivers and Ice Crawler drivers were all very kind, and enjoyed making jokes.

Such a great experience! We came with a tour group, which I highly recommend if you like learning history and facts you won't typically get. The center was clean, but fairly packed. However, everything ran smoothly and in a timely manner.

A experience that we never forget. The tour is amazing, Views are breathtaking and the bus driver was really amazing and informative. Our group totally enjoyed it.

Amazing, eye-catching location to enjoy nature at its best. One can see and enjoy glacier's view from quite near. One very important thing to note, please wear proper thermals before visiting this place anytime of the year as no matter what the wind speed and the chill is quite high in this area.

Visited here during the month of July. Place was very busy. There is short steep hike to the foot of the glacier. It is sad to see how glacier has resided over the years. They have markers indicating where the foot of the glacier was based on the year. However it was a beautiful experience visiting the glacier. There are Glaciaer torus, which you have to book ahead of time.

One place you must visit before it’s all gone due to climate change!!! Stunning views of surrounding mountains and valley, the glacier can be visited through the tour services where you can book your way up there and experience a very special sight of blue and green crevices in the ice, drink glacier water and admire this stunning place!!!

Went there in August, it was chilly but super gorgeous and nice! It’s a worth trying experience. Hurry, the glacier is melting super fast. There are two ways to get there from the parking: 1) buy admission tickets - overpriced but lovely experience. Depending on the admission tickets, you can either hike or bus there with a guide. 2) you can hike to the glacier on your own from the parking place. Free but limited experience because there are safety fences that would stop you from hiking on the ice. Both the experiences are great! All you need are hiking shoes for icy surface, warm clothes and plenty of water :))) Enjoy!!!

Well worth a visit. Photos and recessional moraines show how fast the glacier is retreating. The snow vehicles are amazing, comfortable and warm. Guides are knowledgeable and help keep you from wondering off and falling down a crevasse (no chance of that if you stay within the flags). I filled my water bottle with glacial run off water after the guide said it was OK from a specific point where the water crops out of the glacier. Deliciously cold and refreshing.

Very worth it to brace the cold and wind to see the glacier. Definitely bring a coat outside of Summer. The sense of scale and the approach on a clear day is worth the trek!

The air in this place is the cleanest i have ever breathed. I really recommend visiting this place. It is beautiful, has a lot of history about the retraction of the glacier and a nice trail. Remember to enjoy this visit!

Great tour of the ice field, gives you a perspective how fast the ice is melting, you can actually see it and taste it. There is a small stream where you can drink fresh cold glacier water. I just got a little disappointed because we were confined to a small area of the Glacier, but in the name of conservation and for our one safety rules have to be followed

Incredible experience! We went in July, and it was beautiful. Amazing to see the speed at which it is melting. Bring many layers! It was very very windy and the wind over the glacier is extra chilling. Make sure to bring your water bottle and taste the water!

We went after thanksgiving and turns out all tours end that weekend. Would have been great to go on the glacier but we did the short hike up to the bottom and it was nice to see something that is quickly disappearing.

Perfect, enchanting and mesmerizing place! Our group fell in love with the views😍😍😍 to start with the tours are meticulously organised and the time is perfectly enough set. We had 30 minutes on the glacier and then as much as wanted on the skywalk, but till 7 pm when the last shuttle left. One thing to take into account is that the restaurants are working till 6 pm only. So do take some regular snacks with you provided you want to stay till 7 pm😜😝😍

Remember to bring a beanie. The temperature here is 10degrees lower than the base lodge. The views are superb, breathtaking and reminds us to use less product and protect our beautiful natural landscape. Brewster did a great job on this tour.

Amazing place. The walk on the glacier is a must, take a water bottle so you can taste the clear water. The sights are breath taking. Fun trip to the glacier on the the glacier explorer vehicles and bus driver was really amazing and informative.👍🏻🥰

Such a very cool (no pun intended) and unique opportunity. Each of our drivers was personable and full of really fun and interesting facts about the area and the glacier. Highly recommend the visit.

Had a great time seeing glacier with family. Known to be one of the three permanent glacier on earth. Glacier is being receded over time though. Definitely one of the most visitable places in Rockies. You can walk up a bit on the glacier. But highly recommend taking the snow car? serviced by Columbia ice field

This has been my dream. I am not built for any sports. I have the weakest knees and lungs but this girl is a dreamer. Yes the hike was a struggle and there is a whole story of my journey. But we are here for the place because we could have different experiences. Not that mine was bad. I usually post pictures and let the picture tell the story and for you to decide how amazing it is to walk on a glacier.

Here is a glacier you can walk to from a highway and astonishing how much it's retreated in just our lifetime. Wonderful views from Glacier View Lodge across but recommend walking if you are able or take the bus.

We drove here early in the morning to avoid potential crowds. There was lots of parking and public washrooms available. We saw the melting glacier coming down in a small stream. There is a short, steep hike to get to the glacier, with markers and info plaques along the way showing the melting rate of the glacier. The actual glacier was fenced off Worth a visit!

The Athabasca Glacier in Banff is a must-see natural wonder. Even if you only stop at the parking lot, the view is simply breathtaking. Its proximity to the highway makes it incredibly accessible, and I was able to capture an amazing photo. The sheer beauty of the glacier against the surrounding landscape is a sight to behold. Next time, I plan to take a walk and get even closer to this stunning piece of nature.

We booked the ice explorer tour to the glacier through pursuit. It was an amazing experience to ride those ginormous vehicles. Our tour guide Sebastian was warm and welcoming with a sense of humour. The loaded onto the bus was the a bit long but everything else was very smooth and timely It was very busy on the thanksgiving weekend We were fortunate to get off the vehicles onto the glacier to snap some photos. It was very cold because of the freezing winds even on a sunny day. The ice was very slippery and quite a few people were falling down. Highly recommend wearing boots and winter wear for this adventure.

One of the highlights of my holiday. We went on an ice field explorer tour (on the giant bus) to get here. Incredible to think the glacier is 10,000 years old. And you get to drink some of the freshly melted water. The tour guides were great too. The memory of this glacier will stay with me forever.

Once in a lifetime experience, seeing up close the Glacier. The driver, aka guide, is super friendly! Would go back to do a half day hike in the glacier.

$20 for the day with the family, $140 ayp for the family. Pet friendly at most location's! Bring a cooler and enjoy a day trip. Set aside 4 to 6 hours to enjoy up to 3 different location's from sightseeing and hiking or water rafting!

Possibly the most beautiful place on Earth (if you like mountains)! We spent 4 days visiting the sights in Jasper and wished that we had booked a month. There are so many beauty spots to visit, fantastic access to lakes and mountains, outdoor adventures, resorts and the lovely town centre, nestled in the middle of stunning Rocky Mountains ⛰️ And the wildlife is incredible (as long as you stay well clear!) - we saw a black bear, many elk, a bull moose, eagles, big horns, gophers, chipmunks and a variety of water fowl all during our short stay. I'm already dreaming of my next visit

I worked in JNP as a seasonal warden in the late 70's. It was nice to see many of the old stores and restaurants were still operating. It's like coming home.

Got some amazing information here. Very well informed staff. It was worth the stop in!

Unrealistically beautiful and scenic . Though a lot of parks were closed / inaccessible, the drive was superb and did not disappoint . The glaciers, snow-covered majestic mountains , and crystal blue lakes were simply breathtaking and scenic

So helpful in here. Handy location too, just across the road and a few minutes from the railway station. There was a short queue when we arrived, but it soon went down. We called in for a few tips and to buy the park pass. There were 3 staff behind the counters and all were really friendly and helpful. Didn't feel rushed and the room (hallway) you wait in has a lovely calm feel to it with a fireplace. There is also a tourist shop on the other end of the entryway. The Canada Parks Pass hints and tips we got were also invaluable.

The Staff was so helpful & friendly. Gave so many suggestions & when asked about weather. If it's sunny now, go do what you want otherwise, "wait 5 minutes and weather changes". So glad we took that advice. Next day, main road was closed as precaution due to weather, in an avalanche area. We always visit these centers as that's where you find the best info & more

Must go if you are in Calgary or Edmonton, around 4 hours drive from both point, however it take 6 hours to get there because you can not avoid the breath taking sceneries down the road and you definitely park the car on the designated areas to take pics. There are plenty of places for safe stopovers.

Jasper is amazing, beautiful, wonderful for too many reasons to list. One of our favorite family getaways. So many things to do and places to visit. Thank you to all the people and shops and places for making our trips amazing everytime.

It was fantastic trip, enjoyed the beauty of the lake and its surrounding mountains covered with fog. It was really beautiful and would love to visit again.

The beauty of this place cannot be described in words, it's a glimpse of Jannat ul firdouse as described in the Qur'an. I was just mesmerized. The road was excellent. In between we stopped to enjoy the beautiful mountains and lakes water falls and streams flowing.

We stopped by to extend our stay at Jasper, and ended chatting with Paul K, and going for the annual family pass instead - it made perfect sense! Access to all of Canada's national parks. Paul was quite informative and friendly - good job 👍

Information center with friendly staff. The gift shop has postcards and nice souvenirs. Adequate parking. Recommended paying them a visit if you are in Jasper for the very first time as they have the most up-to-date information on trail conditions and activities.

Picked up some postcards in this historic building. Nice assortment of souvenirs. Like that it is a non-profit. Staff could have been more attentive, but were distracted by computer issues.

If you're planning a trip to Jasper area, don't miss out on this gem. I highly recommend going to the Visitor Center first. The staff here is very friendly and helpful, tailoring their guidance to your schedule and interests. Plus, they've got all the amenities you need when your break on your way, from free WiFi to neat and clean restrooms to ample parking. I'd definitely recommend this as a top spot to visit and plan your visit to the area before you head out.

It was smoky due to the Alberta fires. I didn’t even know Jasper was surrounded by mountains is how bad the smoke haze was. Still the park was lovely to watch the town go about their business on one side and the trains (freight) during the time I was there.

The gentlemen that helped me made my day. He was so helpful, was so informative and we had a great chat about the history of the some of the area and the unit of measurements of the town. He was invested in making sure we were prepared for our time in Jasper!

This is a medium level hike. Some areas are steep, slippery and be cautious. This is my favorite place in Jasper. Stunning and panoramic view. Couldn’t go until end of the trail due to time limitation but definitely come back. Parking is very tight. You have to come early morning. Winding roads.

Beautiful!!! The drive up is narrow with many switchbacks, and it’s a steep drive! Beautiful hike… the pond at the bottom of the glacier is gorgeous.

Beautiful, even in the clouds and a bit of drizzle. Moderately strenuous, good work out, nice view of the glacier and pond and forest and meadows and mountains all around. Clear access, plenty of parking, porter potties.

Amazing place to visit in Jasper! While there were other people present, this is much quieter than most other popular Rockies locations. We did the hike up to the glacier, trail is paved most of the way with benches at the end - it is steep for the first half, but fairly flat after that. The glacier and pond were amazing! Highly recommend if I’m the area!

It's a must-visit, one of the hot stops along the Icefields Parkway, one of the most famous mountains in Canada, I thoroughly enjoyed the trail, winding along the mountainside. It's uneven, with ups and downs. We witnessed the breathtaking Angel Glacier and the cascading meltwater streaming down the mountain.

This is very beautiful place. And hike all the way on the top is amazing as well. I highly recommend to have poles and hiking boots (MUST). This hike is not very hard. If you are not willing to hike all the way to mountain, you can still see glacier with very small 10 min hike. It was crowded hike till the glacier after that it gets quite.from the top of mountain you get 360 view. Lots of parking available.

One of the most beautiful mountains and hikes in the world. The drive to the top where the parking area is amazing. This place is a must visit while in Jasper. The parking lot gets full though and it can be hard to find parking so come very early or very late.

Off road drive to this place. Its proper hilly road, so whoever is driving should have good experience as there’re sharp turns to reach the parking lot. Trail is about 700 meter to 1 Km and easy trek. Will take 15-20 mins to reach at base of mountain

Parking lot is really small, I had to wait for about 20 minutes to park. Trail distance is very friendly, only 700m from parking lot to the small pond at the foot of the glacier. It is shrinking, it will disappear some day. The water in the pond is really cold, some small icebergs are floating in the pond. A nice, small place to observe and feel glacier.

So cool. One of the best hikes I have done in Alberta! Saw a piece of glacier fall off yesterday which was so cool and a little sad. Trail gets hard near the top of mountain, but good for the heart 🫀. Well kept trail and the end is above the tree line which is interesting . The plants were cool.

It’s a very beautiful place. You definitely need to visit. if you drive up to the parking lot, you need to go to the lake in just 30 minutes

The road and short hike to the mountain is fairly steep but it’s worth seeing a beautiful mountain with a glacier, waterfall and glacial pond all in one place.

One of the most beautiful places we have visited. A road of about a kilometer and a half leads to a beautiful blue lake where ice floats. The leading road is full of many beautiful stones and the lake is bordered by a huge glacier. The height of the mountain is 3,633 meters above sea level and the Angel Glacier is a glacier that flows down the northern slope of Mount Edith Cowell. The mountain is named after the British nurse Edith Cowell who was executed by the Germans in the First World War. To get to Mount Edith Cavell's parking lot, drive from Jasper on Highway 93 (Glacier Highway) and shortly after passing the entrance to the park, turn right onto Highway 93A.

Great ski resort! A range of runs appropriate for beginners and experts. The eagle east runs are particularly enjoyable, there had just been a huge dump of snow when I went in March 2024 and the powder was immense! All the staff are great, particularly the lifty who gave me snowboarding tips on my first day boarding!

Utterly fantastic, even in early April (7th). Mid-mountain snow was "okay", but the white stuff at the top was perfection. But the real bright spot was how wonderful the signage is, especially for a novice skier like me! No getting lost or wandering on to a black diamond when you're sticking to greens and blues only. Some of the hills in Vancouver could take lessons on this point (ahem, Cypress).

If you are ever in jasper or visiting Jasper, I would highly recommend coming here. The weather is always great here and your can skii right from the parking lot to the chair lifts. With pursuing tickets online, it is a lot more efficient than standing in line The views are spectacular and all trails are groomed. I usually come here about 5 times a year, and it is worth it.

All of the runs are pretty inclined so it's an amazing snowboard hill for all levels! The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food in the lodges was delicious! The snow was so thick with a bunch of fresh powder. It was so good. Skiing was top notch. Even the greens don't have any flat spots. Great hill for all levels!

Beginner skier, hit Marmot for a weekend ski trip. Marmot was the perfect next step after getting acquainted with skiing at my local hill. I really appreciated the long, incredibly scenic runs going from the top of the mountain down to the mid-mountain and base chalets. Truly beautiful landscape to look at from the higher lifts and some fun blue and green runs on the way down. Can't speak to the blacks and double blacks. They have a decent selection of food and drink options at both chalets. Staff is super nice and accommodating. Took the bus here both mornings and back to the hotel both afternoons, the service was super convenient. But if you plan on driving up, they have tons of parking.

Great mountain, less busy than their counterparts down the road. Lots of trails and reasonable prices for food/drink at the chalets. Smoke house mid mountain has great meats! Great day on the slopes…new chair lift up to knob hill is great as well.

We had an amazing time with our ski instructor Marie! We are in Jasper for our honeymoon and haven’t been skiing in many years! She made sure we were comfortable and confident all day long! The rest of the staff and operation was fantastic as well!! Very efficient process for rentals and lift operations! Great food at the Caribou Cafe as well!

One of the finest places to do skiing and snowboarding. I was a beginner so I chose the magic carpet option where I can learn by myself, however, I was tired of the snow school people who occupied the place to such an extent that it was irritating for regular non-school learners. However, if you know the sport and are comfortable using lifts and coming all the way down from the top of the hill, get your gears and get surfing! Loved the place!

Always a gem to ski. Well maintained and never busy on a weekday, Jasper is lucky to have such an incredible resort. Family friendly for all levels and skills, the mid mountain lodge has firepits and lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the nice weather all season long.

Small but sweeeeeeet! Come mid week and ski nonstop with no waits at the lifts. There are couple of good restaurants and a decent bar here. The service is friendly and warm enough to melt the snow. The most challenging and fun runs are on the far left side through the trees, but make sure there is enough snow to avoid scraping on the rocks

From the good: a lot of trails for skiing and snowboarding; beautiful views; there are no long queues for the lift. From the bad: we bought an online pass for a lift that we could not print on the spot, which is why we stood in an endless queue to buy a pass, ALTHOUGH WE HAD ALREADY BOUGHT IT. We spent a lot of hours on this. If you are going to this wonderful place, print your lift tickets in advance (this can be done in Jasper).

Brilliant place to ski! Lots of green intermediate and more challenging runs! Good for young and old alike. Skiing UPPER MOUNTAIN is a must!

Beautiful place! And you can park and visit your vehicle in the parking just off the slopes any time of the ski day for snacks or refreshments. Even if you need to shed or add a layer

This hill is amazing and has lots of runs for different levels for most people. I lived and skied on this mountain for years, but it was great to be back 💯 . My wife gave it a try, and she's only skied a couple of times, and we had a perfect day. We'll be back soon, and I'd recommend it to any skier ⛷️ to make sure you spend a day or two, especially at the top of the hill. Keep it going!

Fun mountain, wasn't a lot of snow yet this year, but still plenty to ride. More of a blue square to black diamond difficulty, there are harder runs, just waiting on snow. Would definitely go back when there is a thicker base and whole mountain availability. No lines when I went on christmas wknd. I think I had to wait behind 1 set of people once, in the 2 days I was there, other than that, straight to lift and up. How the sun goes, they'll be alot more light in late January and February; starts setting on slopes around 2 pm over Christmas time.

One of the best places to snowboard/ ski in alberta. There never seems to be a line up at any of the chairs long enough to complain about and the prices are on point! Many runs for every level of person. The new knob chair is what's up!

Early May no water in lake. Beautiful drive to it though. Trail past it is really good. Driving through a burned down area was erie and cool at the same time. Was able to see some bears which was nice.

Great view! Was a little bit muddy and icy but it was definitely worth it. There’s a little hike to the left and right side of the lake that goes down a few hundred meters. When the lake melts it will definitely be a better view!

Drive by the lakes in Jasper and enjoy some serenity and spectacular beauty. Medicine lake has quite an interesting story to it. We saw a bear walking casually by our car. We stopped and just enjoyed watching it walk by us absolutely unperturbed by all the attention!

When driving to Malign lake, the Medicine lake is in the halfway almost. The view pint give a general view of the lake. Water is calm and clear. The Bald Eagle Nest is among something that could be interesting. You need a binocular to watch eagles in the nest. I wish the park could provide it. Turn your head around for the beauty and majestic of the mountains. The view point has spot for few cars but it's not far from road.

Only an hour from Jasper, this lake is a stunning place, a valley of true beauty. There is limited parking but it wasn't very busy. There are also a lot of little chipmunks running around.

Arrived at dinner time, break out the chairs, cook stove, and enjoy spicy rice, cucumber, cauliflower, chives, and sausage to the best views imaginable! Highly recommend Medicine Lake for eating, viewing, kayaking, and everything else. Enjoy my friends!!

I was with a group of friends here and the lake was at a low time of the year but the views were still very amazing. Well worth checking out! We even got a chance to see a female moose with her offspring nearby.

This fascinating lake is well worth a visit, especially during the fall and winter months when it is no longer a blue-green lake, filled with fish, but rather a mudflat! The lake disappears - the water, drained out through a large underground cave system, resurfaces 16kms downstream. This happens each year! It was interesting to see the animal tracks criss-crossing the mudflats. There was also an eagle's nest in the trees (take binoculars) along the shore which survived the fires which ravaged the area. There are informative display boards near the car park providing details of the area.

Another very beautiful lake in Jasper. It's on the way to Maligne lake and definitely something to stop by. This is also a great spot to look at the dark sky at night ( another spot close to Jasper town will be Pyramid Lake Island). This area is said to have a grizzly population as well.

The drive from Jasper down the Maligne Valley is stunning with several amazing stops along the way. Bridges, hiking trails, overlooks, wild animals around every corner, and stunning views. One such stop is at medecine lake...it's both beautiful and oddly eerie at the same time. I would highly recommend the drive from Jasper to Maligne Lake and back...reserve a full day...

This is a perfect place to visit on the way to or from Maligne Lake. We stopped by on our way back after doing the latest cruise and saw so much wildlife, and because it was peak summer, the views with the sunset were incredible!

Beautiful drive towards Medicine Lake. Were not able to see the frozen Lake and mountain views due to heavy snow but still a great experience!

Such a cool experience! We did the show and stargazing and both were very informative and kid friendly. The guides were so knowledgeable and positive making the experience very enjoyable. We lucked out and got to see the northern lights! The later stargazing is better if you want to see a lot!

The guides were amazing!! We loved learning more about the auroras, space rocks and seeing the stars. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy but they gave us a 2 year rain cheque to come back any time! Would definitely see it again.

We had Jamin as our guide and he was FANTASTIC, the perfect dramatic celestial voice needed to whisk you across the universe. Despite the cold, the whole experience was amazing and we lucked out with absolutely crystal clear night! Seeing the different stars and nebulae through the telescopes was super cool and the dome show was very well done. Also loved that they incorporated the Indigenous perspective and would love to come back for a full night of Indigenous astronomy! A great activity for all ages.

What a fantastic intimate experience! Our guide Naomi was outstanding. Her depth of knowledge and friendliness made our 45 minute long (7:45 to 8:30pm) event on 20 June 2022 a huge success. The show inside the dome was wonderful! Naomi will remember me as I had a conversation with her about my 6 1/2 month stay near the North Pole.

We went last week (sunset is around 10:30). The first night we reserved, there were thick clouds so we weren't able to see anything but they still presented you with a lot of useful information. We asked if we could come back the following night. So the following night the sky was a little more clear and Shane showed us a couple of things. Everyone was really nice and helpful and knowledgeable. Shane answered a lot of my questions, was very patient and accommodating. The weather is unpredictable, but I'd still recommend everyone to give it a try when they are in Jasper!

Amazing experience for our family! We loved every minute of this adventure! The staff were astrophysicists with knowledge that they could not only share but teach my small kids! We got to see the Andromeda galaxy! The planetarium dome was a fun feature with a really cool aboriginal story about the Ursa Major aka Big Bear constellation that tied everything together. We got to go through space to see the planets, asteroid belt, galaxies and more on a huge overhead dome screen. For the telescope portion, we got to touch and look at a meteorite fragment, moon rock and rocks from other planets. Very cool experience and one we won’t forget! We had to grab a book from the gift shop on the way out, “The Space Adventurers Guide.” Highly recommend! Thank you to the Darksky Team at the Jasper Planetarium for making it so enjoyable for my family!! You guys are awesome and definitely the coolest “nerds” I know. 😉

Attended a 11pm time slot for the Jasper Planetarium and it was an absolutely great experience. My partner and I have always wanted to look up at the night sky and see many stars but with the light pollution in Toronto its very difficult. All of the team members, Sophie, Shane, Katrina, Kaitlyn, Miguel and everyone else working at the planetarium are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. They are also curious about the night sky like all of us. I would highly recommend if you are looking for amazing shots of the moon, Vega star, even the rainbow donut - to go on a clear nights sky and take in all of the amazing shots of our little twinkle neighbours.

This is an absolute must for anyone who is interested in space! They put on a short but informative Planetarium show and then get you outside looking at planets, star clusters and even galaxies in telescopes. Such an amazing experience!

Amazing presentation of the beautiful dark sky in Jasper. Steve was a great tour guide. Made it funny, informative and super memorable! Learning about the vastness of our universe blew my mind - and helped me realize how small my problems are! :) Great education while improving mindset ✨

Wow!!! Rustic, informative, genuinely perfect for the group of us that went. Dress warmly (recommend a lap quilt for the dome), pick a clear night, and try to find that childlike wonder inside of you. We saw beautiful constellations, nebulas, and an excellent display of Northern Lights. We had an absolutely fantastic time. If you aren't driving or staying at Fairmont, it is a 26$ cab ride one way from downtown. So best to go with a group !

We did the new "nightly stargazing" from Whistlers campground and had an amazing experience! The guides from the planetarium showed us the moon trough a telescope, shared many interesting facts about our universe and had us look through different telescopes to see different kind of stars and planets. Really nice experience! Just remember to bring mosquito repellent, because they will come for you in that open field ;)

Total rip-off and 240 cad gone through the drain. I don't know where to start writing about such services in canada, there is a sense of entitlement in every services if you notice. They make you feel like you've not paid for that but rather they are doing you a favor. The "cartoonish inflatable dome" was the planetarium...yes you read it right, there is no real planetarium, but rather a tent like dome, inside which you are displayed some ppt slides and they do you a favor by giving you some camping chairs to sit on. My kid has a similar dome planetarium displayed at the high school for $5...but we paid $250 for 3 people. Its daylight robbery and apart from that the main attraction of dark sky preserve was canceled at the last moment and gave a partial refund. The entire span we had to stand and listen to some kindergarten level space info, which was hilarious and boring. We started having back pain after 45 to 50 minutes of standing and we saw a lot of senior citizens who were really annoyed by this kind of SUBSTANDARD quality that was advertised as something else. Not your moneys worth and not recommend. Save your hard earned money. If your standard of expectations is low, you'll like it maybe!! And I remember one of the guys doing the kindergarten narrative for the planetarium, he had some really pathetic jokes...among them I remember he said, "Do you know why aliens don't visit earth?"...because we have 1 star, ha ha ha....guess what? the entire planetarium scam deserves the same 😂

This was an amazing experience! Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. I was very moved during the planetarium experience- the person who narrated was fantastic (maybe Tyler? so sorry I can't remember but we were there on 9/10/2023 for the last evening time). Will V. also spent some extra time with us at the end answering questions, that was very much appreciated. I only wish we all could have seen the fireball ;)

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Jasper Planetarium in Jasper, Canada, and I must say it was an incredible experience. The tour guides, Tyler, Devin, Miguel, Will (I think was his name), and Peter, were absolutely fantastic. Their knowledge and passion for astronomy were evident throughout the tour. Each guide brought a unique perspective and added depth to the journey through the universe. They expertly navigated complex concepts, making them accessible and engaging for everyone in the group. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and their ability to answer questions and provide insightful explanations was remarkable. Overall, I highly recommend the Jasper Planetarium to anyone interested in astronomy or simply looking for an unforgettable experience. Make sure to go with questions and curiosity!!

First off, this has nothing to do with the staff-they were amazing, enthusiastic and very friendly. With the AMOUNT OF MONEY PAID for this experience, we assumed there would be a much more interactive, in depth educational experience. I’m not going to leave a long rant as there already are a few. Basically, you could go to a school science fair and learn more about space than we did on this tour. The sky was clouded over so we didn’t get to look through the telescopes (no one’s fault). I would’ve paid maybe $20 for this experience. I hope the extra money that isn’t paying the amazing staff goes towards improving infrastructure and NOT the Fairmont Lodge. The largest accessible dark sky preserve should have more to offer.

Great experience, but it's a little pricey for what you actually get. It is a small, set-up planetarium that seats about 20 people, and after the planetarium, there was a telescope and a space exploration via a PowerPoint presentation.

Will was spectacular with the dome presentation and very knowledgeable up on the station after the skytram ride. We learned about the stars and many constellations and the aurora borialis.Will definitely had the best presentation and taught many people new things about the way the northern lights work. Definitely recommend 👌

My husband and I went here last September and we both enjoyed the Dome experience and though it was too cloudy that night we were still able to enjoy the stargazing experience thanks to all their amazing staff, they were all knowledgeable and entertaining. They also had a 2 year rain check in case the weather is not great for stargazing, which is amazing because in October we were able to come back with our son. Our son had an amazing night and a stargazing experience too. He enjoyed seeing the stars and planets through the telescopes and he also got to try pointing the laser up in the sky (thanks to Miguel for letting the kids participate that night, that was so kind of him). It was an overall amazing experience and worth paying for.

My boyfriend and I went here this past weekend for his birthday. Absolutely amazing experience! The planetarium done was super cool, very educational, but did want to note that the speakers used to hear our guide were quite loud, bit louder than needed in my opinion but was amazing despite that. We were educated on meteors, aurora borealis, and were able to use the telescopes which was super cool. Overall, 10/10 experience, amazing thing to do for anyone of any age. Absolutely recommend this on your next trip to Jasper!

Enjoyed beautiful winter and snowy time here. They have wonderful hot chocolate and onion rings.
